the Sully kids' reaction to Jake saying Spider "knew everything" breaks my heart.
they knew him better than anyone else, better than their parents. they knew his love for Eywa, for Pandora, for The People, for the clan, for their family. they knew he would never tell the RDA anything... not willingly at least.
they knew they were leaving because Spider would be tortured for information, he'd be forced to reveal their home, their plans, their numbers, their weaknesses. their brother would be tortured and they were being forced to leave him behind.
they knew they were being forced to find a new home, without their brother, because their dad knew he would be tortured.

Ivan: Well, how’d y’think it makes me feel when the only thing I can get outta you for months is that you’re bored. Is it not enough-.. am I not enough?
[Bruno sighed heavily and shook his head with frustration; Ivan just wasn’t getting it]
Bruno: Why do you always make everything about yourself? It’s not about how you feel.
Ivan: I ain’t sayin’ it is!
Bruno: You wanted to know what was wrong-.. but I knew you wouldn’t like the answer, so I kept it to myself.
Bruno: I just feel empty and alone, no matter who I’m with or what I’m doing, it’s always the same. I’ve felt like that for as long as I can remember, even when I was a child. Like if I disappeared one day, no one would really care-.. you’d think so at first, but after a month or two it’d be as though I never existed.
Ivan: That ain’t true at all…
Bruno: Maybe, maybe not, but that’s how I feel regardless.
Ivan: Maybe y’oughta get yourself on somethin’, like-…
Bruno: Antidepressants don’t help, therapy doesn’t help-.. drugs, alcohol, none of it changes anything. I don’t think I know how to exist in this life; not happily, anyway.
Ivan: Don’t say that! Y’just need a purpose or somethin’, I dunno…
[Bruno shrugged dismissively; Ivan would never understand. How could Mr. Passionate ever make sense of the bleak void that enveloped his core, that inherently made him who he was?]
Bruno: Probably.
[Ugh, another deep and twisting adult conversation that made Robin’s head spin. He wondered if this was all grown-ups did; get too busy or stubborn to deal with each other and their bullshit until it all became too much, then take a vacation, relax and let it all out only to repeat the same ridiculous cycle as soon as they got home]
Ivan: Y’know I love ya, right? We’ll figure somethin’ out.
Bruno: I know, but I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t want to figure-…
Ivan: What the fuck, B? I don’t exactly wanna give u-…
[A twig snapped; just as Robin had decided to turn around too-.. bollocks]
Ivan: Hey, bud.
Bruno: What’re you doing here?
[Robin knew that Bruno was feeling extra tense right now, but as nice as he could be, he still felt a little wary of him. He’d seen far too much of his checkered past, and Robin could tell he didn’t carry quite the same guilt as his father or Ivan did-.. nor was he as innocent as them. If you knew too much, which he most certainly did, Bruno was a scary man]
Robin: I was just e-exploring.
Bruno: It’s a bit late for that, you should be in bed.
Ivan: Aye, go on.. we can explore in the mornin’.
Ivan: Y’didn’t have t’scare the poor lad.
Bruno: He shouldn’t be eavesdropping then.
Ivan: Kids are just fuckin’ nosy, B.. simmer down.

no matter whether ppl are trying to make zk's canon relationship out to be sibling coded or associative friends or whatever else ppl make up i feel it all comes from this place of people that don't ship it being unable to handle zuko and katara's canonically deep and intimate friendship at the end of show without (whether subconsciously or not) perceiving it as some kind of threat to whatever katara or zuko ship they DO ship (usually either k/a or z/s or m/z)
they don't know how to acknowledge/write zk (and i don't think them being a m/f ship is divorced from this) having their canonically close friendship alongside whatever they ship because that closeness, no matter how platonic, can't supersede the romance of their own ship. so they just lazily write it off as "siblings" or convince themselves they weren't ever that close in the first place or that katara still secretly hates zuko or something in order to get out of the bind of allowing them to be close friends even if you ship them with other people 🤷♀️

Reconciliation
Old dome squadmates Trito and Kinoga get together at Trito’s place to catch up after years apart and a meeting by chance on the surface.
⚠️Warning for suggestive content below + implied chest trauma
After several weeks of chipping away at this, the comic is finally done! Very happy to have rendered a full 7 pages of oc stuff. Please give it a read!!
read the full 7 page comic on twitter! <-please do not click if you are a minor and view at your own discretion, this link contains explicit 18+ content. Thank you!
For the lore, includes stuff from splatoon Octo Expansion: Trito and Kinoga were a part of an octarian military squad living in the domes, Kinoga being their squad leader that many looked up to and admired. There were 6 of them who considered each other to be their closest friends. Upon hearing about the tests from Kamabo Co. and the allure of the Promised Land, Kinoga wished to seek it out in order to find a better life for their squadmates. A difficult decision, since it meant leaving them all behind, promising to come back and take them there.
Kinoga enters the metro trials and soon realizes that the Promised Land isn’t what they expected, their hope crumbling when they encounter one of their sanitized squadmates Agara, who followed suit to the metros soon after. Kinoga narrowly escapes, eventually making a break for the surface, carrying the shame of unwilling to return for their squadmates with them (it’s justified, of course, there might not be an easy way in, they might get caught again, Agara is gone)
Trito enters the Metro not too long after Kinoga does, wanting to catch up to them, and an accident that occurs in a test early on results in Trito’s near sanitization, giving him his scar. Terrified, and realizing what happens to his fellow octolings, Trito is unable to return to his squadmates, not wanting to break the news of their loved ones’ untimely fates. He hides away on the Metro until the events of OE happen and Agent 8 dismantles Kamabo, opening an opportunity to escape to the surface. Unwilling to face the possibilities of going back, Trito takes his chance to leave, starting a new life and feeling that it’s for the best if he doesn’t acknowledge it, though he missed his friends dearly.
Years later, Trito and Kinoga run into each other on the streets of Splatsville by chance, and the implications of them both being on the surface and alive hit them, having to carry the burden of leaving their loved ones behind and finding out the truth, knowing the other felt exactly the same, not knowing the fate of their squadmates and not wanting to think about the possibility of them being gone. They have a tearful reunion about it, and set up a meet later, to sit down and really talk, and get into a brief argument when the topic of returning to the domes comes up. Trito’s in disbelief that Kinoga never went back down to check on the rest of their squad, wanting them to have been a better person than him, who was too cowardly to do so. Eventually they do reconcile, and end up at Trito’s place to hook up, where the above comic takes place :]

no one knows where the disgraced princess of the fire nation ended up. there was never any question of her survival after the war, but talk is eerily quiet regarding zuko's sister once her escape from the asylum came and went. the efforts of his dragon's teeth, his spies which was still an odd thing to think about having, turn up nothing of import. azula had become a ghost more than anything else, her presence reduced to the still ongoing rennovations of the palace and the memories haunting the shadows of the halls. they never faded, even when the ashes of their joint destruction had long been swept away
later, much much later when his lordship dawned it's fifth year and the burden of the throne became that much heavier, zuko recieved a strange letter. it was from his uncle, that was no surprise, but wax seal was hasty, and unfurling it revealed strangely rushed characters. odd, since iroh's brush stroke was always resolute and strong, his mother always claiming it to be the writing of an earth bender rather than fire royalty. he reads his words above his overbearing desk, pushing away whatever else needed his eyes. they were measured, iroh's words, a peculiar care to them and at the bottom in post script was nothing but an address.
ba sing se, the upper ring, a newling establishment in the sun plaza, business district - the blue fire bathhouse
