I hope it’s okay to ask you but you seem to know everything about MCR so you might know. But I read recently that they were the designated bbq band on their first Warped in 2004 so they had to cook for everyone. Have you ever heard of that being the case? It just feels like a weird thing, with Ray apparently being a hermit in the bus and Frank being vegetarian and Gerard being blackout the whole time. I can’t imagine Mikey or Matt Pelissier holding down the fort.

haha yeah apparently so! warped tour was designed to be as efficient to run as possible because its primary purpose was to book up-and-coming bands and put them out there. it had a lot of weird components as a result - e.g. the sheer number of bands and locations, cheap tickets and free tickets for parents, and a constantly changing lineup schedule so attendees couldn't plan their day in advance around specific artists (so the artists were on a more ~equal footing and to encourage ppl to show up when the gates opened and stay all day). it was also notoriously gruelling and uncomfortable for the bands - really demanding schedule, no showers, etc etc.

so one of the things it did (along with showcasing local acts at each location) was invite a "bbq band" to join the tour for free and play every day if they helped run the nightly bbq that fed all the musicians. according to this podcast (around 17 mins in, but the whole episode is a short and really interesting listen, i recommend it!), mcr were that band in 2004 (they were only on the first half of the tour tho, june 25-july 18,24). i'm not sure exactly what his source is but he seems to know his stuff, and i'm almost positive i've heard gerard refer to it in an interview at some stage, though i can't remember when 😭. anyway, that doesn't mean they fully ran the bbq and were the only staff - they were just helpers! warped had a catering company and served a truly enormous amount of food every day, and apparently the artist's bbq was something like 300 hot dogs, 300 burgers, and 100 veggie burgers a night (all from that podcast). mcr definitely wouldn't have been doing that on their own, they were probably just helping out hahaha.

anyway, this was all in 2004, when the lineup included thursday, the used, tbs, coheed and cambria, the bouncing souls, etc. so revenge had only been out for like a month and they didn't have their own bus yet - i'm like 80% sure they stayed on senses fail's bus that tour, but i can't remember which one of them said that or where haha (they definitely shared a bus directly afterwards as they toured back towards nj).

after that is when they went to japan, came back, fired otter, and filmed inok, and went back on tour with bob and face to face all in the space of 2 weeks. that tour is when their van finally broke down for good and they got on their first own tour bus at the end of it.

the more ~famous mcr warped tour is 2005, which is the one with fob etc. i haven't seen lotms in a while but i actually assumed the bit where ray said he'd been a total hermit in the back of the bus was from that 05 tour, because that's the one they had the bus studio where he spent a lot of time writing parade demos. either way, he might not have been partying and socialising a whole lot, but i'm sure he would've sown up to bbq duty anyway! it was their free ticket, after all.

picture house making his rounds in the hospital and as he's walking around, he hears a rumor that wilson has a new girlfriend. this news puts house in an insanely jealous mood where he acts even more unhinged than usual. he's talking back to patients, ignoring orders, and all around being a pain. his team just assumes it's his leg again so they don't mention it, but something is definitely off about him. no one would ever guess that reason for house's rapid change in demeanor was due to jealousy. no one knew that wilson and house were spending a lot more time together outside of the hospital and on top of that, wilson had gone so long without dating anyone. for a moment house thought it was because wilson was into him, too. eventually, the rumor circles back around to wilson when one of the nurses asks him how it's going with his girlfriend. wilson, confused at first, states that he doesn't have a girlfriend and goes about his day. wilson later heads to lunch, where he's very surprised to not see house waiting for him since house would never pass up the opportunity to steal food.

house on the other hand, wanted to prove a point that he doesn't need wilson so he's chosen to eat by himself in his own office. as wilson is waiting for house to show up, it finally hits wilson why house was being more difficult that usual. he runs up to house's office as fast as his legs allow where he finds house sulking at his desk. based on the look on house's face, wilson knows house had heard the rumor. he doesn't say anything at first, he just looks at house hoping the love in his eyes can speak for him. house, however, doesn't miss the opportunity to make a snarky comment regarding his absence. he tells wilson he didn't want to take time away from Wilson's 'new girlfriend,' so he thought he'd eat lunch in his office from now on. wilson then tells house he's being ridiculous because there is no girlfriend and there will never be one because house is the only person in the world he would want to be with. a smile draws itself across house's face as he hears that. he walks over to first apologize for being an ass and then takes wilson into his arms and he tells wilson he feels the same way

There is this new trailer spot for the Mario Movie with many, many other characters from the other Illumination franchises. And look who just casually made an appearance...

It's him.

You know, I like to analyze promotional material, even if it has no direct connection to the plot (or in this case even the next installment), but it sometimes gives little hints to who will actually be in the upcoming movie.

I take Nefario again, as an example. There was this Minions/The Office crossover intro, which came out a few months or so before Rise of Gru. And in there he also had a brief cameo, which may have hinted at him actually ending up in the movie. (Also as just a cameo really, but still.)

And him just sitting there could mean Illumination might not actually kill him in or at least between the movies, like we started to worry they might.

But of course, this is just speculation at this point. After all, we see a lot of other characters as well, whose franchises may or may not get further installments (for example the Lorax, because I really, really hope they don't plan on making a sequel...) - so, this might just be purely a compilation of their most popular and recognizable characters.

Anyhow, with hope, I'll take this as a possible hint for DM4 for now, until we start getting the spots and trailers for the actual movie.

Hey can you help me with someone? The discussion between Isabella and Peter in the last arc takes place the 12 or the 13 november 2047? I searched a timeline of the events but i didn't found it. Or it happens the 13 at early morning?

Their conversation in the cell takes place on January 17, 2046.

The other conversations we see them have are sometime before the evening of November 13, 2047, since it's still light out when the older kids reunite with Phil and Sherry and before Isabella dies.

"[Emma's group] will arrive probably by [the night of November 13th or 14th]."

They're in Grace Field headquarters by the time day breaks (chapter 166), and shortly before that, Isabella's speaking with the sisters about rebelling (chapter 170).

It's hard to be completely sure with the lighting when the Grace Field farm boss shows up in chapter 176 since it could just be for the dramatic flair, but it looks like it's around sunset, and the chapter 177 bonus page and beginning of chapter 178 show it's nighttime when Mujika and Sonju arrive at Grace Field by bus.

I don’t think we ever established it, but I think it’s probably been a couple of years. Brad has been down there living this life. In episode one, when he picks up Mobius’ Jet Ski magazine, he seems to realize, “This is something from the timeline. Wait a second, I have a life down there, too. I need to go check mine out.” And so he went and did that, and he ended up realizing, "oh, this is pretty cool. I want to live that." So he got into that life, and he’s been enjoying it for maybe a couple years.

so yeah. seems it was option 2 all along, and he actually did steal the original Brad Wolfe's life.

You know for a team I have not watched regularly since 2020, random facts about the Dallas Stars sure are lodged in my head like immovable truths of the universe. If I ever find a program that can help me create an interactive timeline in a way that makes sense in my brain I'm creating a timeline of Dallas Stars information from the Seguin trade -> now and it's over for you hoes* (*me specifically, I am the hoes). Like I, who am generally bad at dates and numbers, just have various Stars' players rookie seasons/fresh outta Cedar Park seasons just taking up space in my brain for no reason?? Why. This timeline would also include such important cultural moments in Dallas Stars as Roope Hintz's haircuts and Finnish mafia contracts, information which is also just. in my stupid brain doing jack. This timeline would serve zero purpose and enrich humanity not at all but at least this information would be OUT of my HEAD

Anyway I have not been talking abt it because a) don't want to give details when the overall arc of the plot is still tenuously coming together, b) had to do a bunch of research for some finicky mental-illness-in-WWII-veterans but I haven't been able to make myself go digging on SciHub/LibraryGenesis/Google Scholar to see if anything I learned from Band of Brothers/The Pacific postwar fanfic is grounded in reality. But in my current state as someone who cannot watch videos or TV without getting sick but also can't really leave the house for long periods of time, I finally started digging into the research I need to do for it. I'm writing a Dallas Stars WWII postwar au for Fandom Trumps Hate!

I'm very excited about it, especially as I start digging into the historical pieces I need to make it come together and things start to (slowly, so slowly) fall into place. I haven't written a historical au in uhhhhhhh a while and haven't ever written one that was really built around serious hurt/comfort. obvs do not want to just be shooting from the hip when it comes to mental illness, particularly in veterans, but I wanted to be challenged, and so here I am, digging through Google Scholar annotations lol. (There's also stuff I need to research on Canada in WWII, gay men in the 1940s/during WWII etc etc etc, bc it's been a while since I looked any of that up lmao...historians scare me so I am like I must not make TOO much shit up....)

BUT the reason I was thinking abt the internal timeline my brain carries about the Dallas Stars from the past 5 years despite the fact that I could be using that space for LITERALLY anything else, is bc my bidder requested a bunch of older players (which is great for me to be clear - if there's one thing I'm always gonna do, it's gaze lovingly at pictures of Stephen Johns) but said that if I wanted to add newer players feel free. So I tried to balance out Old Guys with some younger players who I love or am interested in learning more about. Gotta give those old men some youth to keep em humble yk. But I wanted to de-age everyone by about 5-6 years from their ages irl just like...given the timeline of the war, bc so many of the older guys are like well into their 30s rn and I didn't want anyone to be career military. BUT!! I was making my little list of birthdates and ages relative to each other and now I'm like. If I de-age Wyatt Johnston by 6 years. He will be 14. tf is a 14 year old doing hanging out with a bunch of men in their late 20s. This is not LiveJournal. Or like Miro Heiskanen and Jason Robertson who I also wanted to include bc I love them, will be 17. I liked the logistical challenge of having a couple of Finnish guys and American guys in this au that takes place in Canada but also, what is a 17 year old Filipino-American kid doing in Vancouver yk. also like girl help do I really want to dig into anti-miscegenation laws in California and Canada 😭😭 shit was not repealed in California until the late 40s. how far down the rabbit hole do I go with historical accuracy this fic is supposed to be about some gay asses finding relief from the Horrors in community, together

I am going to forget everything historical as soon as I hit post on AO3 but will be in my 60s knowing that Wyatt Johnston was born in 2003 or that my dad and Roope Hintz share a birthday (kings). Like god forbid I remember my own family or friends' birthdays but I will definitely find use for the information that Miro and Jason's birthdays are four days apart or that Miro and Joe Pavelski and Jamie Benn all have the same birthday. Port Mafia Kenji/Defenestration AU

(a bit of a spoiler warning for the cannibalism arc? not much of the actual plot of it is said though)

- Kenji joined the Port Mafia at ten years old, right around when Dazai left. 

- Kenji’s an Akutagawa. He wasn’t born into the Akutagawas, but at a young age he did manage to stumble across Gin and Akutagawa and he just stuck with them after that. 

- One of the most important factors to this AU was he was around with the Akutagawas when Dazai mentored his older brother. Which. was. yeah you know how badly that went

- Due to these events, Kenji has a burning hatred for Dazai (which made Chuuya immediately gain a liking to the kid)

- His mentor is Chuuya and they get along pretty well. He also maintains a good relationship with his two siblings and likes telling Akutagawa how cool he is and how much Kenji wants to be like him. Supportive little brother!! Yeahh!!

- Since Kenji is raised in the Port Mafia at a young age, he is very violent. Still cheery of course but, more terrifying and violent. 

- Kenji knows assassination tricks since he sat in on Gin’s training sessions, and yeah it did contribute to his violent nature and numbness to violence and dead bodies.

- Kyouka stays in the Port Mafia in this AU due to the fact she reminds Akutagawa of his little brother and he cannot hurt her without thinking of his little brother. Also yes Kenji technically adopted her as his sister. that contributed too.

- Since the Agency is minus two members in this AU (both Kenji and Kyouka being in the Port Mafia), eventually Poe and Lucy join the Agency, mainly to give it more equal fighting grounds but also because why not 

- Kenji has black hair in this AU. Not naturally black hair, but it’s dyed because he likes looking like his siblings. He also wears a vest in this AU

- He’s sadly lost his original family motto so he made one up instead:  "If someone annoys you, kill em!"

- At one point, Dazai takes Kenji along for a mission and Kenji has his first encounter with Fyodor. Kenji gets along with Fyodor because he ‘has a cool hat’ which terrifies Dazai severely, Fyodor takes note of this and purposely also gets along with Kenji to terrify Dazai. Yeah this AU contains a lot of dazai bullying but it’s fine

- In the Cannibalism Arc, while the Agency and Port Mafia are fighting, Kenji and Poe encounter each other. Instead of a dramatic fight, it turns into Kenji noticing Karl and taking a liking to the raccoon. As war breaks out around them they silently talk about raccoons, Poe being nervous about a small child touching Karl but he seems fine enough
