Listen, the sex in Bloodsport is great, but my favorite part is the fact that I'm as confused as Eddie about Steve's motivations and, like, backstory. SLIGHT SPOILERS FOR FOLKS WHO HAVEN'T READ THE UPDATE: I have no idea if he's murdered before, what he's done to piss off the Vipers, if he's EVER telling Eddie the truth or if he's manipulating him at an even deeper level and Eddie's just too lovestruck to notice. I LOVE IT. YOU'RE SUCH A GOOD WRITER.

I CAN say that he’s mostly genuine rn, he’s just a liar at heart and has issues with telling the full truth about anything. He does have feelings for Eddie tho and he does want someone to actually take him seriously, he’s just gonna end up biting the hand that feeds him over it

Okay I have to ask about the John Silver and Scheherazade thing because oh??? It has got my brain whirring and I am Intrigued

alskdfjlksd it's one of the sets I'm most excited about making! I was rewatching Black Sails recently and couldn't help drawing parallels between John's situation with Flint and Scheherazade's situation with the monarch. So the gifset is just a compilation (preferably in a timeline sort of format), of the stories/lies John tells Flint in order to keep himself alive. And how that eventually culminates in Flint falling so in love with him (as in canon) that Flint in the end cannot kill him, even as John is pointing a gun at him.

It of course begins with John telling him he burned the page but has it memorized, and goes from there XD.

Not sure how widely recognized this is but it’s fucking wild to me that miss kui just quietly snuck in the fact that most (if not all) of the differences between races only exist because of wishes they made to the Winged Lion.

Dwarves being strong? Lion wish. Elves being good at magic? Lion wish. All lifespan differences???? Lion wish, babey!

Not that the elves superiority shtick isn’t already BS, but it’s even funnier with the context that the only difference between them and humans is that, thousands of years ago, their leaders made a greedier wish to the demon that wanted to eat them.

Oma & Shu parallel: Scarf

There’s been a long-standing theory in the Zutara fandom that Zuko and Katara are the reincarnation of Oma and Shu. I wanted to add evidence from the live action that confirms it.

I would like to point out the slow motion of when Katara passes him, and he reaches out for the scarf. He looks mesmerized, as if he’s getting lost in a memory. He then proceeds to follow her.

In episode 4, we hear the story of Oma and Shu, and I noticed something very familiar in one of the designs. Oma wears a prominent scarf that flows behind her, just like Katara’s did when she walked by.

This scene is filmed and directed to draw our attention to Zuko’s fixation on the scarf and Katara herself. The slow-motion sequence of Katara walking by, her scarf flowing behind her, and Zuko reaching out to touch the scarf, is highly charged.

My theory for his reaction is that he sees a scarf similar to one he wore in his past life on his reincarnated lover, flowing the same way it used to on him, only this time it’s in her color instead of his. Something in his subconscious tells him to reach out and follow her, and I highly doubt it was simply because of his motivations to capture the Avatar.
