ohh man i was hoping someone would send akiyama... anon whoever you are, i love you ❤️

How I feel about this character bro i cant even begin to tell you. god. i fucking love this man. its really scary how hard i relate to him. probably my biggest comfort character rn. i cant tell if i would rather know him and like, be his best friend, or BE him. the gender envy alone has me insane. just thinking about him and things he might do has become a nice pass time for when im bored, especially while im at work.

All the people I ship romantically with this character as with most of the yakuza characters, i find myself enjoying a lot of the ships theyre involved in. ESPECIALLY poly ships. my brain is super focused on akiyama/kiryu rn tho; the pining, the devotion, willing to kill for the one you love... kiryu being totally oblivious, or pretending to be, until akiyama makes his feelings obvious... bro its so good... i also enjoy the ships w ryuji and shinada, and while i dont have many thoughts about tanimura, i think akitani is cute (mostly bc of ONE artist i follow on twt who makes a lot of good akitani art lmao). akiyama/majima just makes me laugh. make it kiryu/akiyama/majima/saejima all together tho and thats a perfect soup to me. i also really like akiyama/ryuji/kiryu inspired by ishin's storyline.

My non-romantic OTP/BrOTP for this character i NEED more content of him and haruka. the game literally sets him up to be another guardian figure for her. uncle akiyama... hes a total disaster about it but he cares about her so much and tries to do his best to protect her. i think it kind of extends from his devotion towards kiryu and protecting kiryu’s interests, but he also genuinely likes haruka and doesnt just think of her as this precious thing to protect the same way you might protect a valuable item or family heirloom. shes an actual person to him, whereas in some of the previous games, shes viewed by the other characters as just a device to manipulate kiryu. whether or not rgg studio wants to show us more of them i firmly believe they keep in contact. maybe even post y6 he helps out at morning glory 🥺 in terms of like. non-familial relationships though, i think akiyama and majima are fucking insane as buddies. just thinking about it makes me laugh. especially when you look at dead souls, akiyama tries so hard to seem cool next to the big scary yakuza men, and majima sees right through it and laughs at his face. i want more of them taking the piss out of each other, because i think once hes comfortable, akiyama could give just as well as he gets.

My unpopular opinion about this character not sure this is a hot take, because i think most people who put a smidge of thought into the series would agree, but i really hate it when people take these complex characters and boil them down to just a few simple character traits. while i get that thats one method to make it easier to write them in your own fic and stuff, i just find it kind of insulting. to the character and to the reader's intelligence. like okay sure, akiyama is shown to be lazy and impulsive and irresponsible, but thats not EVERYTHING about him. and theres nuance to those flaws that i think goes over some people's heads.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon. i wish he had been in yakuza: like a dragon. evidently hes really important to the main story of rggo, and since y7 is kind of a retelling of rggo, i wish they had included him. (im still gonna play rggo to see whats different and to see how akiyama is involved, i just wish it wasnt so hard to access for someone who doesnt speak japanese 😅)

danny phantom, season 3, episodes 7-13 thoughts! cannot believe im finishing this series so fast. ...cannot believe it ended like that...uh. one of the weirdest finales to a show I think I've seen, it really stood out against the rest of the series, and not in a good way, in my opinion. I paused to yell in caps lock...several times, I think, out of anger... BUT. ANYWAY, HERE WE GO.

-the fentons putting the kids to Work in the lab, with NO SAFETY GEAR. AT ALL. THEY JUST GOT BACK FROM SCHOOL AND ARE TIRED!!! and when jack asked how danny his day was and danny tried to say it was bad jack cut him off :( for the 400th time, i am stealing these kids.

-maddie and jack IMMEDIATELY SELLING THEIR LAB AND WORK FOR A LOT OF MONEY. and danny cant get into the portal anymore, oh no!!! he could always just steal vlads I Guess.

-I like how this show has been pretty consistent (with a few exceptions) about a Ghost Being Huge (or getting larger) = Very Powerful

OKAY?? obv he /does/ want power (usually over certain ppl, tho), but seeing him try to get it like this FELT WEIRD SOMEHOW. weird like the ep where he tried and failed to take over various historical civilizations, because like,, how is that realistically going to do anything for him?? just, being in that time forever and never seeing maddie aka Goal #1 again?? HELLO??? this was like that, but worse

-this was such a weird ending to an entire show. why did season 3 only have 13 episodes?? why did it feel so weirdly paced?? WHY WAS THE ENDING LIKE THAT. I think. I am going to pretend I did not see that. fucked up, dudes. I'm like...hm. I shouldn't have watched that because now I'm mad. valerie sweetie im SO sorry you shouldve been more present. it felt like..if they knew this season was going to be short, and the last season, they should've spent more time wrapping up EVERYONE'S plot lines for the entire season. imagine how cool it wouldve been if every single ep of season 3 was working towards something, a big, nice wrap up at the end, with nothing feeling TOO rushed because they'd been heading towards the End for the whole season....

I will probably end up writing a follow up full series thoughts post. In a couple of days so I can sit with my thoughts. BUT. overall, I really liked the show! (ignoring the finale and some of the moments that aged pretty poorly...) it was charming and a fun concept and very fun to watch in general :) and I am pretending the finale didnt happen <3 and I’m gonna dive RIGHT into the dp tags and mix fanart and posts in my queue, very excited to run and look at that 🏃🏻 (and, of course, make more fanart myself hehe >:3)

A Dose of SPN Positivity!

For those who know me, they know I love this show.... flaws and all! im critical sometimes, but not overly. Bottom line, I am addicted to the story and Im in love with Sam and Dean. With Season 14 about to start, and we’re all getting antsy, too much negativity has been flying around, so I want to share some things i love most about the show, and maybe make some of you reflect for a moment and think “Yeah, that is pretty great” and smile. Supernatural has been referred to as “The Little Show That Could” and to me, its such a fitting description. Logically, on the surface, it looks like it just can’t. I mean, how can a fantasy/horror show, survive with such a low budget, light special effects, and not very scary most of the time. I mean hell, they dont even have that many monsters that look like monsters, so why has it lasted longer than a season or 2? Let alone, 14 seasons with no signs of stopping yet. First and foremost is obvious. Sam and Dean and the actors who play them. This essay will be full of gushing about these boys, so if you dont feel like enduring such a hardship, scroll on past. if that interests you.....

Yes these 2 fabulous men are the life blood of this show. Without them, we’d have nothing. THEY are the reason, this little show can, and does. Even those who like one and not the other, even if they dont realize it, the one they prefer is who they are because of the other. Both of their qualities and flaws can be directly linked to their influence on each other. If for some reason the other was gone for good, the one left will change drastically. As we see when one is dead or in grave danger, albeit temporarily, the other changes. Sam is no longer sweet, laid back and practical, and Dean is no longer funny, charming, and nurturing. In fact, they both seem to become an amplified version of their brother. When Sam dies, Dean gets quiet, sometimes too quiet. He also gets methodical and focused. You may get lucky and just get shot in the back, but if he chooses to speak, he chooses his words to let you know shits gonna hit the fan. “You have my brother, and you have one chance, just one, to hand him over, and if he isnt in one peice, when I find you, and I WILL find you, I will take you apart” Sam on the other hand is boiling over with emotion. My boy becomes savage. He doesnt always choose a lot of words to say, he gets his whole point across most of the time with “WHERES MY BROTHER???!!!!” This... my friends, is good stuff! These things couldnt be done with such beauty without Jared and Jensen. Their offscreen relationship, whatever it may be, is wonderful. Theres no denying the love and respect they have for each other. They are very supportive of each other, and help make the other better at their job. They’re not typical actors who have a work relationship but otherwise spend time with each other. They genuinely enjoy being together, and this shows on screen. When two people are this good at their jobs, and with each other, you just have to keep watching. Other things I love about the show, are kinda small. Some maybe youve never noticed, but maybe now you will and enjoy them too, like... Brains vs Brawn: At first glance, we all go Sam=brains, Dean=brawn right? But thats not actually the case. Dean is far from stupid, and Sam is nowheres near a wimp. Dean teases Sam about being a nerd, and Sam doesnt mind, he kinda wears his nerdiness like a badge of honor. Dean will never admit to being a nerd, but he is. He’s read Vonnegut, knows every old west cowboy statistic, and likes LARPing. Sam, though a bookworm, is one tough mofo. hes tall and muscular and has shown to be a little freakishly strong. He can also take a great deal of pain. And though Dean is known more to be the fighter, he can be very warm and nurturing. And nerdy Sam can make you shit your pants with just a look if you piss him off just right. I absolutely LOVE this balance!! Its one of my favorite things! Old school vs New; A lot has changed in 14 seasons. The brothers have grown, as well as the story, but their roots are never forgotten. They’re still driving around in the same car. Hell. Baby has become the 3rd lead! Even though they have mom back, they never forgot her, or dad, and both were spoken of often throughout the series. They refer back to old days often, so we can all get a feel of nostalgia when we remember too. Most episodes bring the deep past up in one way or another, I love this! Loss and Death: I know so many of us complain that they die and come back too much, but I have a real appreciation for it, The circumstances are always different, and so are the methonds of coming back. Sometimes the death isnt serious, or they dont “seem” dead, like in First Blood or Dark Side of the Moon, when there may have been an initial “wtf?” we got to see them in heaven, and in first blood, they came right back. However there was deep seriousness in All Hell Breaks Loose, No Rest for the Wicked, Do You Believe in Miracles, Swan Song, Red Meat and Beat The Devil that you felt the dying brother’s physical pain, and then the emotional pain of the surviving brother. No matter how many times they die, they still hit these types of episodes out of the park. WE may know theyre coming back, but they dont. it still crushes them and I love this! Sam and Dean’s Sexuality: I love that their sexual natures are different, but theyre both okay. Dean is sexually active, enjoys porn and vocalizes some fantasies, Though Sam can tease him a little, its just brotherly ribbing, its not judgemental or trying to make Dean feel bad. Sam isnt overly sexual, he’s gone many seasons without sex at all. He doesnt appear to enjoy porn, we know he doesnt like strip clubs, and its NOT because he’s unattractive!! Dean teases him but he doesnt try to make him feel bad. When he has heavily suggested that Sam get laid, its just because he wants him to have fun. Dean even said he appreciated that Sam wanted to stay pure and waited. Otherwise, its okay that Sam is (at least kinda) asexual. Neither are shunned or judged because of their sexuality. Winsync: This is one of the greatest things. if they didnt do this, we wouldnt care, we would never say “It would be a much better show if the brothers mirrored each other, or did the same thing at the same time” but for whatever reason, TPTB wanted this, and it works so well! Its an intimacy we can see without the show going OTT bromantic. Its the connection, the closeness, and being soulmates. I LOVE this! Soulmates and Brothers: Normally a show will make soulmates out of lovers. It’s not often they do it with siblings. It helps justify their deep love and devotion. It adds an additional layer to their relationship. It makes them so tied together that they will share eternity in heaven together, and not just in their memories. This was a very good decision made by Kripke and crew, so we will all know they cant live without each other, even if they just lived in different homes. I love this! Meta Madness: Though I dont like all the meta episodes, I do love the fact they can do them, and DO do them. Because the whole premise is the supernatural, nothing is impossible, even AUs and cartoon worlds. Sometimes I might roll my eyes, but its awesome to me that they can experiment this way and see how it goes. I Love this!! The Bros are Oblivious: Sam and Dean have been through basically everything, and have seen and done everything, yet they seem shocked when people say theyre famous, or when they heard people tell stories about them. Occasionally they grasp their importance, like when they tell people they save the world, but they were impressed that Asa fixed killed 5 Wendigo, and had an Angel Blade, and Father Luca met the Pope. I mean God hung out at the bunker and made them pancakes! Their Heads Dont Get Too Big: Every once in a while, TPTB make sure we, and the boys, remember that they are only human. Even if they lock away Satan, kill Death, save God’s life, they’re just men. Remember when Bobby died and Dean was sure he wouldnt because “its just one bullet!” ? I can see how it would seem so silly to Dean, and even to us, that someone who has lived through so much, could die from a stupid little bullet. I think that one of the smartest things the show has done in ages, was to have Sam tortured by Toni and friend. Sam was so bold and cocky (and need I say sexy?) telling Toni he’d been tortured by the devil himself, and what could she do to him... He soon learned Hell torture or not, cold showers still suck, blow torches to the feet still hurt like hell, and a mortal human can still fuck with his head. And Dean, well he can still be put on the injured reserve list from a jacked up leg. IMO S12 was great for re-humanizing the Winchesters. I love this! Comedy to Tragedy: Some of the best episodes, started out funny and ended in a tear jerker. Mystery Spot, Just My Imagination, and Beat The Devil top my list. I love the emotional rollar coaster, Coming away exhausted from an episode is the bestthing I can ask for! They havent tried it the other way around, tragedy to comedy, and thats good. If you are crying at the beginning and laughing later, it doesnt justify the grief and you may feel let down and hollow after. SPN is great with having some humor in even the most depressing episodes, but they know when using it and leaving it out is best. I love this! Brohugs: My #1 favorite thing, aside from the hug in 6.1, they have all been beautiful. Not once, have the boys lost the love, or even repeated the same hug. Each one conveys a different message, a different emotion, but all say “I love you more than everything” and I wont ever get tired of them! I would do anything for a single hug in my whole life that had such love in it, as any Winchester bro hug! I.LOVE.THIS!! Now I hope if you read this far, you got to smile a few times, and a spark was added to the fire that you fell in love with 14 seasons ago. Here’s to S14, i hope its filled with all of these wonderful things!

yoon jisung - demigod!au; nemesis

for those who dont know, nemesis is the goddess of revenge, retribution and balance

shocked? same for jisung.

jisung was adopted by a very loving and caring family with very accepting siblings.

no one knows about his family or past; it was the cliche, he was left on rhe porch of the family in basket wrapped in a ducky blanket, something he still dearly treasures since he feels its his only connection to his biological parents.

he was home schooled, so he had a limited amount of friends which meant he was very protective and loving of his family.

he lived a pretty normal life, and since he wasn’t exactly the most powerful of demigods, monsters didn’t really bother to chase him down.

up until he was about to finish highschool with his home school program thing that is

he was at the grocery store, picking up produce for his family since he had promised to cook dinner that night,

he was reaching for the tomatoes when a big burly hand suddenly grabbed his wrist.

slowly looking up he saw a big muscular man looking down at him with the biggest huffs and puffs coming out out of his mouth.

“y-yo-you can ha-a-ave th-the to-to-toma-tomato if yo-you want” he stuttered, gulping a lump down his throat.

slowly, he watched the big man throws his wrist down and the tomato flung out of his hand smashing into the shelf, the force creating a hole through the shelf

luckily the civilians around only saw it splatter onto the cereal boxes because of the mist but many angry customers were watching in disgust

jisung ran over to the shelf and attempted to pick up the tomato but of course in his vision it wasn’t there but behind the shelf

he looked up, about to ask why the man did that but instead was meet with a kick in the gut that flung him into shelf

screams exploded around him and he gripped his stomach painfully

the man had reached his eye level, just grunting and smirking, through his blurry vision, jisung noticed his eyes slowly combining into one and he wanted to scream, realizing he was witnessing a cyclops about to beat him to pulp

instead only tears rolled down his checks and inaudible sounds escaped from his mouth. all he could think about was his family and how theyre going to react if he suddenly died or disappeared

as the cyclops was about to grab him, he squeezed his eyes shut, (causing more tears to spill) expecting to be crushed but instead he heard another loud crash

there you were, all bad ass in just a tshirt and jeans. he had realized you had kick down the cyclops twice your size.

before the cyclops could get back up your frame was already on top of him, your dagger already aligned with it’s eyes

jisung’s sobs erupted as you jabbed your dagger in and quickly jumped off the cyclops, grabbing his hands, pulling up his knees

“stop crying we gotta go okay" you said hurriedly, trying to calm him down

he’s a child; cheeks stained red, eyes shut tightly with over flowing tears and you raise a brow

“I ha-have t-t-to c-co-co-cook din-dinner"

you end up having to drag him out of the grocery store before the cyclops could attack again, you both run blocks until you make it to a parking lot

now he’s panting, sobbing and wont stop rambling about his family

“look as much as you love your family, you’re in danger okay” you’re trying not to rolling your eyes cause honestly what the fuck

you explain to him he NEEDS to bounce on over to camp half blood because monsters are after him since he’s a demigod

he’s stubborn though, he refuses to go with you he just needs to cook for his family

and you both just keep bickering like why can’t he understand he needs to fucking leave he’s in danger

and why cant you understand that family is important and that he can’t just disappear

you guys are having major culture shocks, it just something each of you weren’t used to

you weren’t used to the idea of a loving and tightly knitted family and he wasn’t used to “fending for yourself”

so you guys compromise, he can finish this dinner thing and then the next morning he’ll leave with you with the condition that he can come back and that you’d stop bringing up this demigod nonsense for one night

so you guys go grocery shopping together again, he notices your uptight behavior and constant glances of worries and he tries to ease you by being his good ol happy self, all meme like and jolly

you guys also end up introducing yourselves (finally)

as you guys are the leaving the store, he apologizes about your dagger and you blinked a couple times like “wdym?????”

and he’s like “your dagger ?????? the one you left in the cyclops???????”

“OOH, dw bout it, it’s gonna come back”

he’s dumbfounded, like what the fuck are you saying ?????

“it’s reappears when I need it, it’s name it’s emfanistei"

“oh that’s cute it’s literally named reappear”

and he catches himself, he’s wide eyed

“w HY dO I kNoW THa T?????????????” he freaks the fuck out

and you’re like chiiiiiilllll it’s cause you’re greek u demigod calm down

when you make it back to his place, you’re starting telling him you’ll be back at dawn he has math equations around his head

“where are you going?”

“finding a motel?”

this is also the first time you hear jisung go “what the fuck” and you see him with the most sassiest face that you didn’t think the crybaby happy go lucky boy could pull off

he forces you to eat dinner with his family, they’re all really sweet and all but you’ve never felt so out place

they’re all so sweet and caring it makes you feel bad for intruding

you both somehow bs an explanation and they’re convinced that he’s going to some intern summer camp thing

he insists you sleep on his bed and he takes the bean bag but you refuse, feeling bad for what you put him through all day

you both end up staying up a bit too late, discussing each other lives

he was extremely fascinated by your demigod life

you also learn he’s adopted and that’s why hes so caring about his family

“i mean, i can’t loose two families right??”

he’s the type to suppress all his feelings in order to make other people feel better please protect the boy, hes actually sad deep down

he talked about how he used get bullied for it, how people told him how he was unwanted and useless

it didn’t help that he was dyslexic and had adhd so he just turned to home schooling

he came to terms with it, knowing that he was loved by his family, whether or not they had the same dna and blood

“I live a very happy and wholesome life now and that’s all that really matters right?”

he doesn’t really hold a grudges against his biological parents, but he would just like to know why or what happened

the next, he was all packed and ready to, packed as in just some essentials that he couldn’t survive without (his blanket)

it takes a lot of walking and buses to get to camp half blood, which makes a lot of room for conversations

there were a few awkward silences, good long talks (mainly him) and lots of exchanged jokes (also mainly him)

you guys end up talking about his potential parents and you were honest and said that he was probably demeter’s son but you really couldn’t tell

he realized that he knew nothing about your parentage so he was slightly surprised that you were ares’s child

“isn’t he like mean??? scary????? wAR??????”

and you kinda just chuckle because wow such stereotypes you’ve placed upon me

“but you’re so kind??? quiet??? i’m confused???”

and yall make it to camp half blood!!!!!

as soon as you get there your cabin mates kinda just scoff at him

“you got sooo lucky bro that they found you”

“ya, if we found you, you would’ve been done, you look like a twinkie”

and they snicker at each and you just roll your eyes

“leave him alone, its literally his first day”

he realizes that you’re really not the stereotypical ares kid

“oh shut up reject, this is why dad never sends you off to quests or gives you gifts.”

you’re walking away and jisung follows, trying to comfort you but you end up comforting him

“its fine, ares kids are always like that, just ignore them”

and this happens constantly and everytime jisung would just run by your side

honestly since he’s so cheery and happy, he’s loved by many campers, except for the ares cabin

but he never ever drifts from you, you’re still his top priority

you think he’s just being sweet and nice to you because you sorta saved his life

he always saves you a seat during meals and has your favorite drink already at the table

at the bonfire, he’d always have an extra large blanket for you to share

he even let you stay at his hermes cabin over night once because your siblings were being assholes

(he’s in the hermes cabin because he wasn’t claimed yet)

thats’ the night you realize how fast your heart races when you’re around him

you liked him

something about the two of you just clicked

it takes him a while to get claimed but he does, during a game of capture the flag

you get in a fight with your other cabin mates and they’re blaming you for losing

even though jisung was on the other team, he came over and stood up for you

he cited how unfair your teammates were acting and insisted that they shouldn’t get to use the showers first since they were being assholes

“how does that even remotely make sense? that’s so petty, like showers???” your half siblings complained

“yea, cause you guys are complaining about something bratty, that means you get a bratty punishment”

even mr.d was amused by the solution since he was overhearing the argument

bam, he’s claimed by his mother nemesis

everyone is shook and he doesn’t understand why at first; theres a lot of scattered whispering

you have to explain to him that her children are known for being traitors, and self entitled assholes

it takes him a while to get used to, he’s angered by her because she’s kinda known for being a huge asshole and sorta evil and hes the polar opposite

but overtime he accepts himself like he always does, he realizes that he is a firm believer in balance

he doesn’t believe in irrational punishment and revenge, but he knows when its needed.

so he ends up becoming a referee for capture the flag occasionally when mr.d isn’t available because he’s “busy”

one time during another argument that involved you again, the ares cabin called him out for being your little guard dog

“so what if i stand up for them?” jisung responds “you guys are the ones treating them like shit”

“ya okay, go ahead, go to your little boy toy since you’re such a weakling and can’t stand up for yourself”

and jisung’s sassy side just goes OFF

“look here, you know damn well that y.n can literally beat the both of you into a pulp, unlike you though, they doesn’t feel the need to show off nor waste their energy on such useless statements, especially from low lifers like you guys.”

and the two ares children that were talking are furious but before they attack jisung you kinda just kick them down

“leave him alone okay, hes not my boy toy, I can genuinely for people unlike you inconsiderate assholes”

and as you two are walking away, he realized what you said

“you care for me?” he asked

“ya?” you bluntly replied

“like care care for me?”

“what does that even mean?”

“i like you” he blurts

and yall date,

and you perfectly balance each other ;-)

he’s really talkative and you’re a great listener

he makes you laugh and relax and you keep him check

you’re both protective of each other

he really loves embarrassing you cause you’re still pretty shy about skinship,

he finds you all red faced super cute

hes always sitting with the hermes cabin since he had been close with a lot of them since he wasn’t claimed for a long while and he has no one in the nemesis cabin that he isnt he afraid of

and he always invites you over during meal times and the hermes cabin relentlessly tease you guys

he races you up the lava climbing wall and never wins

you help him with the history of greek mythology to which he always claims is boring and useless

when he sees you during sword fight class and defeating someone he would cheer so loud it almost embarrasses you

and he’s all the way across the field near the cabin so everyone can hear him

your first kiss was at the armory while you guys were searching for a weapon for him

ya you both didn’t realize he was playing capture the flag weaponless

“what, i didn’t even do much anyways, i just kinda looked around, and if i found the flag i just told my teammates? besides, i don’t even play that often anyways”

“but yoU WeRE wEAPonlESS???? dEFenSeLeSS??????”

but you guys both find a him sword after sorting through all the too heavy and too light ones

“thanks babe youre the best! :-)))” and he kisses your cheek “perks of dating an ares child !!!!”

god hes such a cutie

and you don’t realize that you’re staring at him, admiring his cute his smile and his half closed eyes

but he does, so he leans in to try to kiss you, but accidentally knocks down the barrel of spears, scaring the daylights out of you

he’s bright red and giggling and you just sigh and you end up kissing him, holding up the barrel of swords that was behind the spears just in cases it falls

you guys are exactly the the unexpected

Can I just add, that many antis throw around the word "pedophilia" and first of all, that's a disgusting accusation to make of someone imagining FICTIONAL characters in a relationship. And second, it does not apply. Like the literal definition does not apply. Would a 25 year old with a 17 year old be cool IRL? Probably not but it's not pedophilia and it's also FUCKING FICTION JFC. God I wish I had the time to worry about what fictional characters people shipped.

It really depends heavily on context for that 17-25 thing. It depends on the relationship and maturity levels of the two people in question. I know there are 25 year olds that are still running around this site screaming about “problematic ships” like its the fucking plague. And then there are people in my life who grew up in drug houses, who struggle because their families entire line of poor credit, bad choices, substance abuse and felonies makes it nearly impossible for them to get jobs and basic debit/credit cards, who dug around in dumpsters for food during their childhood-- and you can bet they grew up incredibly fast, and incredibly hard.

Biology plays a part in it to a degree too-Female brains tend to fully develop ages 16-25? (dont cite me on this, im just going off of memory) and for male brains I think they finish developing around like, 18/22-30??? I’d have to look it up again, but you get my point.

Theres a lot of factors that go into play- The maturity levels of the individuals themselves, and the actually Nature of the relationship itself, I think.

Lets take Sheith, for example.

We have seen maturity and selflessness exhibited in both individuals; Both of them have had to go through very hard experiences; Keith being an orphan with abandonment issues, yet still carries some incredibly strong morals and a fierce love for people and a desire to protect others.; Shiro has been enslaved, amputated and experimented upon, and forced to perform in bloody, gruesome, arena’s. He’s been through Hell, and still he has retained a sense of calm, patience, and compassion.

So we know from this that they’re both plenty mature enough-- But what about the nature of their relationship?

Honestly I think this one of the most healthy ships out there for the sheer amount of love and compassion and respect between the two, even without picking apart just how well they compliment each other.

Again, starting with Keith; This is a highly individualized person that does not like authority. He’s not going to want to feel like he has to explain himself to anyone or meet anyones arbitrary standards; Does not like, and possibly feels threatened by rules and restrictions as that threatens his ability to do his own thing. He makes his own rules for himself and his own personal values to which he will adhere strictly. He’s intelligent, but it’s shown and seen through his actions-- Not explained through word of mouth, and most likely never will be. Trust and abandonment issues, as well as his orphaning, may lead him to difficulties communicating with others, being vulnerable, and expressing emotions or showing weakness, making him a very secretive, private person, that most likely finds both comfort and fear in Isolation. Comfort, because no one can hurt you, and you can sort everything out yourself and have complete control when you’re alone; Fear, because it’s very easy to keep isolating yourself and never stop, even though you want, like, and need people in your life, but may be hesitant to go to them for fear of getting hurt or abandoned, especially if you reveal your softer, more unprotected sides. Keith, as a character, may even be scared of his feelings.

One of these belongs to every paladin okay, thats all I’m sayin’.

In conclusion, Keith is a very private, lonely person with a history of trust issues stemming from abandonment and a dislike for authority, making him not the easiest person to get along with. He needs someone who will have the patience and respect that will allow Keith to open himself up to them on his own highly secretive terms, someone who is open minded, patient, and understanding, in order to understand someone as rare and unconventional as Keith (He’s not exactly going to come with an owners manual or introductory pamphlet y’know?). He needs to feel safe, comfortable, and not judged by a person in order to place so much trust, value, safety and security with them. If someone tries inauthentic, underhanded, or forceful means of manipulating someone like Keith into anything, you know Keith won’t be having it.

Shiro is kind of the epitome of all of these traits, and we don’t just see him using them to understand Keith, but we see him using them to understand other members of his team as well (like Pidge or Allura). Once Shiro has a good understanding of someone, he waits until an appropriate, non-threatening time arises in order to build his team members up, give them advice, solace, or whatever he thinks they may need that he can give them. He uses a very open, friendly, safe, respectful and non-threatening communication style in order to build up people around him; This is an incredibly rare and beautiful kind of person, imo, at least in Shiro’s case, because we can see how very dedicated he is to doing this, and that he makes it one of his biggest priorities.

This makes him pretty great for Keith, but there are plenty of reasons why Keith is great for Shiro too.

From episode one, from Keiths very introductory sequence, we see him caring, for and sacrificing for Shiro-- Going out of his way to make sure Shiro is safe at all times, or backing him up; Whether it be in or out of Voltron, Keith is literally Shiro’s right hand man. Keiths love for Shiro is very similar for Shiros’ love for Keith; It is a respectful, kind, and appreciative, thankful kind of love. It is built on and never runs out of trust, and only seeks to lift the other up, and make sure the other is okay, without breaching any boundaries.

Shiro, from his iron devotion and love for others, strikes me as the type of person that forgets to take care of himself, in lieu of others and their importance, valuing it over his own. Keith, being a very confident, straight forward, and protective person, is perfect for Shiro in that he can and will make sure Shiro does get the self-care he needs, but without threatening or stomping upon Shiros virtues, or his mission. Shiro, for all his dad-jokes and stereotypes, honestly might need the child harness more than Keith does for his sheer scary-levels of willingness to sacrifice himself, like he means nothing- Or at the very least, nothing in comparison to others. Shiro, just like Keith, doesn’t know when to stop and take a break if others don’t make him/tell him too. And even then, Shiro might not understand or believe it, simply because war and soldier-trauma is like this.

Shiro needs someone who is confident, straight forward, and strong enough to take care of Shiro as Shiro takes care of others. He needs someone who will be considerate and kind to him when no one thinks to be, or knows to be. He needs someone who will keep a close eye on him and watch and listen for when he’s breaking, when he needs help, whether he knows it or not-- He needs someone who will be aware of just how much Shiro himself may not know it too. And he needs someone who will do this genuinely, authentically, respectfully, and patiently. Issues like these are incredibly painful for both parties to go through, and they may never heal. A spouse who deals with this may have to come to accept this as never-changing, and to do that... Takes so much genuine love and self-sacrifice? It’s both heart-wrenching and beautiful, as it is a gruesome reality. It’s not sexy, cute, or fun-- It’ cold and it’s harsh and to persevere in your attentive care of someone in spite of such hard issues, especially when coupled with things like PTSD, is about as Real as you can get.

The reason Keith fits this bill perfectly? Is because we already see him doing this for Shiro in canon.

We see it in anytime Keith flings himself into action in order to save shiro, whether it’s well-thought out or not. We see it in his respect, adherence, and boundaries. We see it in how he trusts Shiro to keep throwing himself into battle and come back to him, amidst a respectful but attentive observance of his person, his space, his wishes and his safety. In Keith we see he’s developed his own very deep and respectful understanding of Shiro and how he works, just as Shiro has developed an understanding of Keith-- they both know each others strengths and weaknesses, and give each other trust and patience.

Like, I really can’t think of a more healthy relationship yo. Fuck ages man, these two are good for each other, these two honestly keep each other sane and safe, and uplift the other, they have a rock solid understanding of the other, and their wants, needs, strengths and weaknesses, and they communicate in succinct, blunt, non-threatening ways build on trust. Even if they disagree or say harsh things to each other (Like Shiro reprimanding Keith for reprimanding Pidge, “That’s not how a team works.”, or giving him criticism. Or Keith pleading with Shiro in his BOM-nightmares.), they do not stay mad or hold grudges, which tells me that they never assume bad intent of the other either, even though it would be very easy to.

My god like theres so much healthy shit in this ship it’s actually hard to cover everything, they both exhibit so much.

Overall I really think like the last thing I’m worried about with these two is fucking AGE y’know? Clearly theyre mature enough to take care of each other; Does anyone really think either of these people would abuse the other? Because I certainly don’t. It wouldn’t just be wrong, it’d be completely out of character. Keith and Shiro simply care, value, and love each other too much for that.

I can’t believe I lost Alyssa....

So the blindside happened and I think it will just stick to me...I hate Alyssa went but at the same time I feel good knowing that I put something together to try to wreck what seemed like a growing alliance. And now I think they all will know by now but if I lose, I'm gonna lose knowing I tried to do things I wouldn't normally do and I just think it feels so like evil. I don't wanna be evil but what it takes to get to the end, I'll do it

Chris just told me he wanted the S1 alliance that Mitch had floated ages ago but couldn’t remember if I was keen for it or not, so instead of asking me he just said fuck it and voted me. Bro cmon

The merge is finally upon us! And I couldn't be happier. I was in the minority on Orfeo so getting to re-unite with my closest allies after they pulled off the biggest blindsided of the season together is greeeeat!

Right now, it does really seem like there are 8 players all on the same wavelength. I don't think anyone in the group is very likely to flip at this point in time so hopefully it should be smooth sailing for awhile.

Of course, there are sure to be bumps along the way. I'm gonna keep prioritizing my own safety so I can sail these seas without being a target.

My strategy for the comp is to ask for a "crumb" or "nothing" from people I don't trust, so they can't try to sabotage me since they won't know what I'm going for or will think I'm throwing. And from people I trust, I'll ask for something negative without being specific.

So what's gonna happen tonight? Me Michael Matt and Drew sit around, panic, and hope it's not one of us. I feel like we're the 3 amigos (plus Michael Snow) in Caramoan going up against Stealth R Us, although I KNOW the 9 other ppl in this game aren't all aligned. But where are the cracks?? I just have no clue. I'm gonna have to do a lot of talking to people who I never got to be on a tribe with and hope somebody throws me a bone. Chloe? Loris? Stephen? We kept up a decent dialogue during one world. Matt is paranoid Bryce/Zach are running everything and tbh, I can definitely see it. But we can't do anything yet about that I don't think. I really hope Chris and Mitch pull me in on SOMETHING or this is gonna be an absolute bust. I really want Jared out he's so fucking snakey and I caught him in a fucking lie about voting Rhys but of course he had to go and win immunity. Not that he'd be voted yet I don't think. Man. This is just bad luck right? Surely? That 5/8 people voted out were my allies/tribemates and that everyone just stupidly targeted me/Alyssa when Cyrena is already depleted? They'd all have to be fucking morons to keep that up this time with us 4. They'd have to be. There is nothing remotely threatening about the 4 of us we have NO ONE. I just don't trust anyone on this cast to be intelligent at the moment, which is unfortunate.

So I felt confident going in but now its like...if Im not careful this is just gonna blow up. By voting one of Michael/Drew/Chloe out, theyre gonna feel betrayed. Even though we do have a fair reason to do it theyre not gonna see it that way. If I do Matt then they could at least think of at least he didnt vote us. But I am beginning to think it is inevitable that its going to be shown that the Betty Whites rumor started from Loris but through me by proxy. But like if I need it now I’ll probably need it very soon and if I’m not playing to win what’s the point? So. I’m gonna save it. I’m gonna be the only player to have a legacy advantage, and I’m gonna have it for the entirety of the two seasons meaning it was never passed... woo! tribal is a mess but I think names are coming out and I’m not 13th? or at least I hope so

Sooooo a new alliance has been formed here on the Asteria Tribe. An 8 person alliance consisting of everyone outside of Betty White's influence.

I think this might be the biggest alliance I've ever been in period? LOL

So we came up with a plan for this vote. It's a simple plan! Vote Drew, but say we're voting Matt so the other side wastes idols if they have them. Barring any other crazy advantages mixing in, I think it should be simple. There are some risks though.

This plan requires that I have trust in my 8 which is kind of essential anyway with such a large merge. If I don't have their trust, I don't have anything going forward. Still, it's a big risk no matter what.

I know Matt wants to get rid of me (I learned through Chris) tonight as well, and I've talked to Jack and he seems to obviously be on the same page. It's just about trust. I can't really blame them for sticking together. I wish they'd pick an Orfeo to target instead of me but it is what it is. I spent the last few rounds of pre-merge trying to set up this alliance and I'm not gonna flip on it for people who want me out tonight.

This could end up being my last confessional, though, and that's sad to think about. I've tried my best in this game and especially today to make sure my allies are all rock-solid. I wasn't able to keep the opposition from wanting me out though, which was a bit of a mistake but whatever.

Right now the vote seems to be on Matt and that’s unlikely to change so time to go with the majority woo.

The Lego Batman Moviewould never skip leg day. Never.

The new movie which is fantastic also doesnt skip a beat during more than 90 minutes of jokes and references, some even at the expense of its parent studio, Warner Bros. Its padre, as Robin might say. Its papa.

The infamous moment happens later in the movie. Before heading off to save Gotham, Batman takes a shot at another Warner Bros. movie, Suicide Squad, saying that using criminals to fight criminals is a dumb idea.

Suicide Squad, though a commercial success, was berated by critics, a fact thats not lost on Warner Bros., nor the moviescast and director. Lego Batman throwing shade at its own makes the moment stand out from the rest.

The Huffington Post talked with director Chris McKay about the surprising moment. He said Lego movies are all about getting away with stuff:

I cant remember if that was one we really had to run up the flagpole or not, or just the executives who were on the movie saw it and were OK with it, but that was just us kind of riffing in a voice booth, said McKay. It was me [writer] Jared Stern and Will Arnett. It was one of those things where we gave Will an idea, and he took it and made it his own. I love working with him. In an interview with Build Series, the director also commented on the matter, saying, Because were approaching these characters and this movie with a lot of love, people kind of let us do some things that maybe we couldnt do.

Will Arnett, the voice of Lego Batman, also chimed in, saying, Its kind of incumbent upon us in this position as the in a certain way, as the absurdist Batman, to take those shots. If we dont, then were sort of missing our own point.

In addition to talking with HuffPost about the Suicide Squad jab, McKay also cleared up some of the movies unanswered questions:

In the movie, Dick Grayson (later Robin)asks Bruce Wayne if he should get experimental surgery on his eyes to make him more appealing. Does he get the surgery?

No, I think hopefully Batman and Bruce Wayne persuaded him from doing that.

Robin calls Batman tons of variations of father. How many different words for father did you go through?

There were a lot more. We had to cut [some]. At one point, we even translated Hebrew. We used all languages we possibly could to say father. But it was one of those jokes where we have to keep the movie moving. But, at one point, I think we recorded Michael Cera doing everything.

Will Batman ever get to hang out with lady activewear models?

We know hes hung out with ballerinas in Christopher Nolan movies. Yeah, I think in a sequel. The thing were looking at with every one of these movies is hes got a different girlfriend.He has very limited relationships. Theres an expiration date on his relationships. Its always something like that. I really wish, in a future movie, we can see Batman hang out with lady activewear models.

Ralph Fiennes, Voldemort in the Harry Potter movies, voices Alfred in Lego Batman. This movie has an appearance by Lego Voldemort (Eddie Izzard). Was there any talk of getting Fiennes to voice Lego Voldemort?

[Fiennes] is great, and hes amazing to work with. Yeah,at one point I wanted to do that and suggested it to the studio. Fora coupleof reasons we decided not to, but I think the main one was unless youre gonna put Alfred and Voldemort in a scene together, unless youre gonna do something with it … its going to end up on the cutting room floor. I think thats kind of the main reason why we didnt do that. I think also J.K. Rowling was really generous obviously in letting us use Voldemort and Dumbledore in the first movie. I dont wanna step on too much of what theyre doing.

Did J.K. Rowling have to approve Lego Voldemort?

Yeah,not on the cast, but just to show her the stuff we were doing, and she was super positive and really helpful and actually gave us spells that we should use.

Why does Batman always have a deep voice?

When you boil Batman down, he stopped developing when he was a little kid, so everything he does is what a little kid would think is scary. Its like, How do you stop crime? OK, Im gonna learn karate. Im gonna dress up like a giant bat, and Im going to scare criminals with my big scary voice. I think that is the solution of a child to a real problem. I love Batman. I think its kind of funny to take a step back and look at our heroes and find some kind of loving critique.

Is there anything scarier than snake clowns?

The only other thing [is] in dreams, you can add to that waking up naked at a test. Being late for a test and you dont have any clothes. I think that would probably the scary dream triumvirate between clowns, snakes and nudity.

How important is it not to skip leg day?

You gotta even it out. Actually, youll fall over, so you gotta get your legs. People try to blow it off, but it really is important.
