Top 10 TVD Characters I Love
This is fact, because I can never be wrong in MY OPINION!!!
(This list is also subject to change)
1. Bonnie Bennett
Self explanatory. She’s the baddest bitch and a powerful bitch. I love this girl and I will stand by this girl. Plus she’s black, and we gotta stick together.
2. Damon Salvatore
Let’s not act surprise. He’s my man. I will ALWAYS defend him (even though I will always admit he’s done some terrible shit). But that’s still baby boy. I connect with Damon more than anyone on the show tbh. Simply because we share the same trauma (trust issues, abandonment issues…). And we have the same humor. And I love how he’s not afraid to be the bad guy when needed and he says what needs to be said, no matter who’s feelings get hurt. Brutal honesty. Love him.
3. Katherine Pierce
Listen, listen. She’s just a bad bitch, idk what y’all want me to say. Her aesthetic is just good! Shes a survivor which is something that we look up to in some degree. And I have to give props to her for never turning off her humanity. Although I hated how they gave her that obsessed with Stefan storyline in S5, like girl, stand up!
4. Elijah Mikaelson (on TVD)
Honestly, I have no idea why I ranked Elijah this high. All I know is that whenever he’s on screen, I giggle a little bit.
5. Klaus Mikaelson (TVD)
Same with Klaus tbh. Klaus annoys me but I also wanna be friends with him (*cough* with benefits *cough*). Everyone loves a tortured soul, am I right?
6. Elena Gilbert
Don’t come from me. I love Elena and she’s literally not so bad that everyone makes her out to be. I especially loved her from S1-3.
7. Rebekah Mikaelson
Another bad bitch.
8. Lexi
I actually almost forgot about Lexi. But she would be in the top three if she didn’t die so damn soon. She could’ve added such a good dynamic with the main characters. Such wasted potential.
9. Rose
Another wasted potential. I loved her and Damon’s relationship, and it added a bit more maturity to show in my opinion. Idk, loved her.
10. Caroline Forbes
Now… I have a hate/love relationship with Caroline. But more love than hate. I just… simply don’t agree with her personality 💀. I just know if she was real, me and her would NOT get along. Caroline just has a very nosy, judgmental and loudly opinionated personality that I just don’t fw. But I know she does this because of love and because of how much she loves her friends. And she can be adorable. She’s annoying but in a tolerable-cute-annoying way. Like a sibling.

“What I enjoy about Kai as a character and Bonkai as a pairing is the darkness there and the darkness that he brings out in Bonnie” !!!! ALL OF THIS. Bonkai in the hands of a writer who valued them and saw the potential, would have been one of the best ships out of that shit show (which is exactly why they paid them dust lol) But imagine it, Bonnie leaves the prison world and finally comes to the realisation that none of her friends care enough to fight for her, after everything she’s done for them, losing her grams, her mom, her dad, her freedom, and yet they couldn’t get together and figure out a way to get her home. All the sacrifices she made and they couldn’t even put their brains together and come up with a plan. And she just snaps and the only person there that knows what she feels, the only person whose observed how she and Damon interact, the only person whose spent enough time with her and only her, not her friends, and can see how used she is, how her kindness, her magic has been taken advantage of. That person is there and offers her something more exciting, more unpredictable and more dark, an offer she really can’t refuse. And then season 7 is the mystic falls losers trying to defeat not only Kai but their sweet resident witch Bonnie. Like the potential was there…bonkai truly could have saved that mess of a show smh
As I mentioned I don't have as much context surrounding the storyline outside of clips but the thing about Bonnie is, even without Kai involved she had enough basis to go dark well before season 6 even happened. With Kai being the catalyst I think there's merit to this idea that they provoke one another because they are the antithesis of one another and the mirror of one another at the same time. When I say that I mean that, Kai is what Bonnie would be if she gave in to her baser impulses.
If Bonnie never had Sheila at all. If she didn't know what it was to have true friendship, which we're led to believe she did before in pre-canon, because once the Salvatore arrive and she finds out about her witch heritage things go to shit pretty quickly. But honestly Bonnie had the recipe for becoming someone so disconnected, she was isolated, used, abused mentally, physically (yes I'm talking about Damon), and verbally by people she called friends and the people those friends surrounded themselves with. She'd seen the death of her Grams, her father, and her mother was turned at the flip of a coin. Yes, a part of the reason Kai was shunned by his family was because he was a siphoner, but honestly those around Bonnie could have just as easily feared her due to her power, especially if they actually leaned into what being the last of the Bennett line really meant. She could've had a target on her back for any number of reasons. Bonnie was honestly a small amount of provocation from becoming what Kai was.
When in the prison world, she was alone and faced with that isolation and forced to confront how alone she truly was, the loss, the abandonment, and just the knowledge that she had given up everything including her life for people who weren't worth the sacrifice and left with an adversary who knew all too well how she was feeling and how easy it would be to push her over the edge and break her down because he had been there already, the natural response was to push back, lash out, fight, and give in to that darkness just a bit in an effort to keep a deeper more seductive darkness at bay.
As for Kai I think as much as Bonnie fascinated him there was also resentment because she was everything he couldn't be. She felt love, she felt empathy, and she embodied self sacrifice. So there's a duality there of envying and being enthralled by those things and wanting to break her down until she loses those parts of herself and is on his level because of that resentment. Which is why they're so fascinating as both adversaries and lovers and why they were honestly the only real true equals that went head to head on canvas.
When two characters have that contrast and affinity at the same time there is like you said a world of potential there. There's validation but also fear. There's desire but also repulsion. So you never really know what you are going to get when they interact with one another. It's very rare and it was so wasted.
Even though I can't see the pairing ending in any way besides Kai's death at Bonnie's hands (which was another thing the show robbed Bonnie of), there would be so much development for Bonnie and potentially all of her relationships. Because of who Kai is, the MF Gang would've been forced to face who Bonnie could become if they kept treating her the way that they did. If we got them actually doing everything in their power to bring Bonnie back from the brink then those friendships wouldn't have been so one sided.
Honestly, if you think about how bad the writing was on TVD in general it’s just sad that they didn’t cash in on this. Bonkai basically fell into their lap because of KG's and CW's chemistry and because of who Kai was in contrast to Bonnie the story just accidently ended up being a goldmine that they never cashed in on which made no sense. Frankly, the show might've lasted longer if they had. It lasted too long as it is. It definitely would've at the very least gained more viewership and respect if they'd gone that route but Bonnie and her fans could never have nice things.

Not About You - 19
Tumblr media
Pairing: Damon Salvatore x ofc
Warnings: canon violence
A/N: finally.
Tumblr media
The exchange went flawlessly. At least Lucy assumed it did as she’d been banned from getting anywhere near town while it went down by both Salvatores. Damon had relaxed considerably now that Isobel had left though.
Founder’s Day was the next day and Damon dragged Lucy out of the house and to the town square where they were preparing for the parade. They roamed, taking time to poke fun at the floats and costumes. “Aw, look at Stefan,” Lucy said with a grin as her gaze fell on the younger brother.
Damon dragged her over to the other man. “Wow. This brings back memories. Looking good, Stef. Where’s Caroline?”
Stefan shrugged. “I haven’t seen her yet.” His eyes went wide and the other two turned to see what captured his attention.
Elena entered the square looking like she’d stepped out of the mid-1800s. Damon arched his brows. “Holy shit. I thought she looked like Katherine before.”
Seeing Elena dressed like this, it was easy for Lucy to see how the girl’s ancestor had caught the brothers’ eyes to begin with. She was stunning. When Elena noticed the gazes on her, she curtsied and gave a preening smile. Ugh. There it was. Moving on.
Lucy looked away only for Caroline to catch her eye. She nudged Stefan with an elbow to get his attention before gesturing to the blonde. “Close your mouth, Salvatore. You’re drooling.”
“Shut it, Williams,” Stefan muttered before moving over to greet his girlfriend.
Caroline glanced at Lucy before waving and giving her a big smile. Lucy waved back and Damon draped an arm across her shoulders. They found a place to watch the parade, Lucy tucked into Damon’s side. Just as the float passed with their friends, Damon was distracted. When he stepped away, Lucy trailed him with her gaze, rolling her eyes when she saw Bonnie.
“What do you want, Damon?” the witch asked. There was a lot of snark in her voice for someone that had never done anything to her.
“I just wanted to say thank you.” When Bonnie didn’t say anything, he continued. “That device could have killed me so thank you. I’ll owe you one.”
Lucy watched the girl for any signs of guilt or deception but saw nothing. She still didn’t trust the Bennett witch. Lucy took Damon’s hand in her own and pulled him away. “I need a drink.”
They were on their second glass before Damon asked her what was wrong.
“I don’t trust the witch.”
He scoffed. “She’s just a kid.”
“Yeah, that’s my point, Day. She’s a kid that thinks she knows everything when she knows nothing. And she has magic in her blood.” She sipped her drink. “She’s dangerous.”
“I think you’re giving her too much credit.”
Lucy shrugged and hoped like hell he was right.

The brothers, Lucy, and Caroline were searching for the perfect place to watch the fireworks when Anna appeared. Damon stepped forward to confront her, moving so Lucy was behind him. She grasped onto Caroline’s hand and the blonde squeezed back to offer her silent support.
“You still around?” Damon asked.
“We’ve got a problem,” Anna said and Stefan moved up to stand beside his brother.
“What kind of problem?” the younger Salvatore asked.
“Look, after you guys cleared out our coven, we rebuilt it. We’ve been around a long time and mom never did like doing anything for herself that she didn’t have to. John Gilbert killed my mother and the coven wants revenge on the council.” Anna kept glancing around as she explained.
Damon huffed. “How is that a problem?”
“Because they’re going to take their revenge on the whole town. Tonight.”
The brothers exchanged a look. “When?” Stefan asked.
“When the fireworks start.” With that the female vampire ran off, probably to find Jeremy.
Damon turned and grabbed Lucy by the arms. “You have to get out of here. Go home. We’ll meet you there.”
Stefan pulled Caroline into a hug and kissed the top of her head. “Go with Lucy.”
She pushed away and shook her head. “I can’t. My friends. I have to save them.”
“Caroline—”
“No,” she said, cutting him off. “I’m not going anywhere until I find them.”
Lucy grabbed her friend’s hand and started pulling her away. “I’ll take her to the Grill and see who we can find there or along the way. You guys see who else you can find. Keep an eye out for Elena. Ric, too.”
“Yeah,” Damon agreed after a moment’s hesitation. “Hurry up and get out of here.”
The girls arrived at the Grill to find only Tyler and Matt in residence. Tyler appeared to be having an argument with his father. Nothing new about that. They arrived at the little group just as the mayor handed over his keys to his son. “Listen to your dad. Get out of here. Take Caroline with you.”
“But—” Caroline started to argue.
Lucy shook her head. “I’ll be fine. And I’ll keep an eye out for Elena and Bonnie. Just go.”
The mayor eyed Lucy obviously trying to figure out what she knew. She shrugged and ran off before he could ask any questions.
There were so many people gathered in the square that it made it difficult for her to find anyone she knew. Halfway through the mayor’s pre-fireworks speech, someone grabbed her arm and pulled her away from the crowd.
“What the hell are you still doing here, Luce?” Stefan asked. “Where’s Caroline?”
“I sent her home with Tyler and Matt.”
Some of the tension left his shoulders. “You should have gone with her.”
She tugged her arm from his grip. “I’m hardly a defenseless female.” To prove her point, she pulled a stake from seemingly nowhere.
Stefan smirked before suddenly dropping with a shout as he grabbed his head.
Lucy was immediately curling around him, protecting him. “What’s wrong?”
He continued to groan, unable to talk.
She tried to get him to his feet but it was like lifting dead weight. She simply wasn’t strong enough.
A sheriff’s deputy moved in their direction only to be intercepted by Ric. “I got this one. There’s one over there. Go on.”
Lucy breathed a sigh of relief.
“Come on,” Ric said as he helped her get their friend to his feet. There was a hidden stairwell a short distance away where they took refuge.
“Where’s Damon?” she asked as soon as they had Stefan somewhat secured.
Ric shook his head. “I don’t know. I haven’t seen him since this all started. They’re rounding up the vampires and taking them to the old Gilbert building.”
Lucy ran up the stairs, avoiding Ric’s hand as he reached for her. She didn’t hesitate to run into the building. The smell of gasoline was heavy in the air. “John Gilbert,” she yelled as soon as she entered. “Get out here, you fuck.”
He emerged from the basement tossing something down the stairs before turning to face Lucy. He kept his gaze locked on hers as he pulled a lighter from his pocket and lit it before dropping it. Flames flared and Lucy launched herself at him. He slammed into the door behind him with a grunt.
When she tried to get past him to go down the steps, he grabbed her by the waist and pulled her toward the door. She stomped on his foot and elbowed his ribs. He briefly lost his grip only to find it again before she could escape him. “I’m trying to help you. Quit fighting me. He’s not worth dying over.”
She let him get her into the cool night air then turned and decked him. “Fuck you.”
He worked his jaw and wiped the blood from his lip with a grimace. “Get her out of here.”
Two deputies grabbed her arms and dragged her across the street to where Stefan and Elena stood with Ric. “Get off me,” Lucy demanded jerking her arms out of their hold.
They shoved her forward before heading back to take up position in front of the building.
“They’re burning,” she said to Stefan, worry heavy in her gut. As much as she hoped Damon wasn’t in there, she knew he was. He would have found her by now otherwise.
Stefan looked from her to the building behind her with wide eyes before turning to Elena. “You know the building. Is there another entrance?”
“Utility door on the side,” she answered with a gesture.
Stefan ran in that direction with Lucy right on his heels. John Gilbert gave them a little salute as they passed probably thinking they’d die along with Damon. Asshole.
“You can’t go in there,” a voice said just as Stefan opened the door.
They turned to find Bonnie behind them. “You’ll die.”
Stefan ignored her and rushed in.
“Feeling guilty, Bonnie?” Lucy asked. “You should. If they die, so do you.” She didn’t wait for a reaction before following the vampire.
He stood at the top of the stairs staring at the flames.
“Damon!” Lucy yelled.
“Lucy?” a faint call came back. “Get out of here.”
“Fuck you,” she moved forward and Stefan grabbed her shoulder to pull her back. “Let go of me, Stefan. He’s going to die.”
“So will you,” he shouted.
Suddenly, the flames died down enough that they could use the stairs. Stefan headed down with Lucy right behind him. “Damn it, Lucy,” Stefan grumbled. “Just be careful. I don’t have time to save you both.”
Lucy’s eyes teared up and her lungs burned from the smoke but she wasn’t leaving until Damon was safe. Stefan went to rescue his brother and Lucy was distracted by a groan. She turned to find Anna trying her best not to get burned. Lucy hesitated only a moment before helping the female vampire to her feet and toward the stairs. The brothers beat her to them.
“What the hell are you doing here, Lucy?” Damon asked. “Are you insane?”
“Yes.” She gestured with her chin for Stefan to get the fuck out of the fire. He vamp sped up the stairs and the girls followed behind. The flames returned as they reached the top stair and they had to leap to safety. Lucy laid on the ground and rolled to her back. “Fucking witch.”
Anna laid beside her. Suddenly, they were both grabbed and hauled out of the building. They found Damon waiting for them as he leaned against a wall. He shoved himself off and grabbed Lucy as Stefan released her and pulled her into his chest. “Stupid human.”
“Stupid vampire.” She coughed as she said the words. Her gaze found the witch standing at the end of the alley. They stared at one another for a beat before Bonnie turned and walked away.
“You need some blood,” Damon said, worry heavy in his voice.
“So do you,” Lucy responded.
Stefan huffed a laugh before biting into his wrist. “Here, Luce.”
She took a couple of swallows, nodding when she felt her lungs clear up.
“That’s twice you saved me,” Anna said and they turned to face her.
“Twice?” Lucy asked.
“John Gilbert was going to stake me when you yelled at him. He left me to burn instead. Then you got me out of there. Thank you.”
“You can thank me by not rebuilding the coven. You are a seriously bad judge of character.”
That surprised a laugh out of Anna. “Done.” She nodded before speeding away.
“Let’s go home,” Damon said after kissing Lucy’s head.
“I’m going to find Caroline,” Stefan said. “Can you get him to the car?”
She nodded. “Give me the keys, Salvatore. Wait at the end of the alley. I’ll come pick you up.”
He passed the keys over and did as she said. Once she picked him up, nothing was said all the way to the boarding house though the tension sat heavy between them. Damon’s jaw was set and he kept shifting in the seat. He was furious but she really didn’t give a shit as long as he was alive.
When they got home, he left her behind as he sped inside. She took her time joining him. He was just emerging from the basement where they stored the blood bags looking much healthier when she walked in. He stared at her a beat before licking his lips and heading to the bar. He poured himself a drink and kept his back to her as she walked into the room.
“What the hell were you thinking?” he finally said before turning to face her.
She remained silent knowing he didn’t really expect an answer anyway. He needed to get it out of his system then they could move on to the next bit of drama.
“I realize you think you’re invincible but you aren’t. You’re human, Lucy.” He sat the glass down and stepped toward her, his volume increasing as he did. Someone else might have been scared of him at that moment but she knew he wouldn’t hurt her. If for no other reason than her uncle scared the shit out of him.
“And it wasn’t just the fire. It was the whole council. Never mind the deputies and that deceitful little witch. And then you stopped to help that vampire bitch.” By this point he was standing right in front of her. His eyes were hard and his muscles taut. His hands were fisted by his sides. “What the fuck am I supposed to do if I lose you Lucy? Did you even think about that? What was I supposed to do if I lived and you died? Why would you risk your life for me?”
The words slipped from her lips without thought. It was an automatic response to his tirade. And now that they were out, there was no taking them back.
“Because I love you, you idiot.”

Something that angers me as a survivor, is how Stefan sympathizers use the topic of abuse to viciously attack Delena fans for liking Delena or Damon, calling him a predator or an abuser when their fave is one too. I will never like Stefan as a character and part of it is because of how horrid their fandom is. They are the worst fandom I've come across. Also even though I love Tyler is I've noticed people love him as a charcater because it's a vampire show the standards are lower but on shows with similar characters who've done the same but aren't vampire shows (like GG) they call out the charcaters and hate them and judge people for shipping them with anyone. With this show they hold Damon to real life standards to make him look worse than their fave and hold Katherine to real life standards to coddle Stefan exclusively even though she preyed on Damon too and whatever Stefan did to Elena. Stefan hid his vampirism like Katherine and Elena already fell in love with him just like Katherine withholding her vampirism until after Stefan fell in love with her. Elena was 17 like Stefan was and Stefan acts smug and like he's better than Katherine when he didn't learn from the past. He tells Katherine he didn't have a choice because she backed him in a corner after he found out about she was a vampire but Elena was 17 and depressed and not over her parents' death and he backed her in a corner when she tried to run away from him just like Stefan tried to get away from Katherine. Stefan wanting to get away from Katherine is portrayed as justified but Elena's comfort level and her wanting to get away is disregarded. Also Elena's age meant that she couldn't consent aka she didn't have a choice either. Stefan telling Elena she couldn't confide in Bonnie while he could confide in Lexi even though he knew Bonnie was a Bennett witch, and ruining her relationship with her dad, aunt, and Jeremy disgusts me. Also Lexi disgusts me because she calls Katherine a bitch for mistreating Stefan and romanticizes Stefan's abuse of Elena by saying OMG you're in love with her. Damon gets shit on for how he treated Lexi in the 70s even though he regretted it and his humanity was off and him and Lexi were both adults.
All of their vampires are abusive, and being a vampire is the only real excuse they have. It's their basic nature. Acting human won't ever change that. That's why Rebekah told Elena she knows exactly who Stefan is. He's a vampire, a predator. The only way to stop a vampire from acting like a vampire is to kill it or cure it. That's why it's important to consider what it truly means for Stefan forcing Damon to become a vampire. Because Elijah is wrong. His comment that Esther turned them into vampires but didn't make them monsters is ignorant to their reality. Vampires are monsters. "Vampire" is simply the specific monster they are. That's like saying tigers aren't wildcats.
Stefan and Lexi both knew what they were getting her into when he sent her to New York to help Damon flip his humanity switch. I fault them more than I fault Damon. Every vampire shows the reality of what they're like without their humanity. They have no emotions, so they don't care. Damon wasn't supposed to care about Lexi, that's why he left her on the roof to burn. It's no different than Stefan threatening Elena on the bridge.
While fans like to ignore the reality, Stefan's lies are no different than Damon's compulsions. This is shown even in the first five episodes as they have Stefan written with Elena and Damon written with Caroline. When I tell fans that Stefan and Damon are written as opposites, I mean it in every sense. That's why Damon's compulsions on Elena hide the good in him, while Stefan's lies to her hide the bad in him. Like when Jeremy cuts Stefan's hand with a bottle. Stefan essentially compels Elena to forget what she saw because the glass didn't cut his hand. They actually put it in dialogue in the 6th season when Damon came back from the prison world.  "Oh, come on, Elena. You've compelled enough people to know it's just a way of covering the truth. And no matter how badly you want it done, it doesn't make it any less of a lie," Stefan compelled Elena into a relationship just as sure as Damon compelled Caroline into one. He did this by lying and keeping secrets. By covering up their truth.

Purple Portals Are A Hazard OR How To Deal With AU Bullshit When It's Your Job Technically
Summary: Bonnie Bennett was enjoying a quiet day in, cup of hot cocoa in hand, fluffy blanket and her favourite comfort movie ready to begin when her best friend started spamming her phone. Damon Salvatore was dealing with a recent break-up, his first love turned current hell bunking with him for an as yet unforeseen time and a quickly dwindling supply of bourbon.
Neither were prepare for someone to literally fall from the skies - aka broom closet - today, but alas this is the hand they were dealt. Roxy, the having fallen out of a closet person in question meanwhile, seemed to be far more in her depth then anyone thought she should be and enjoying all of this way too much.
Prologue
Chapter 2
Chapter 3
Chapter 4
Chapter 5
Chapter 6
Chapter 1 (link to A03)
Bonnie Bennett had been through a lot in her meagre 25 years of existence - loss, gaining and losing her magic and gaining it again, dying - almost too much, or it would have been had it continued. But the prison world changed that. She couldn’t say Damon changed it, not in full honesty, because he hadn’t actually changed her at all at the end of the day, but he’d definitely served as example - of what not to do mostly, but impressively also of what to do. And, she’d like to think, she’d served as example for him too.
The prison world had been an ugly wake up call especially for her. She’d known she’d die when the Otherside collapsed - and sure, Enzo’s staunch belief he will survive almost gave her hope for herself, but ultimately she’d known. However knowing something and being faced with the reality of it wasn’t quite the same thing. So facing that too bright white light at what she’d thought was the end had scared the shit out of her and Damon’s hand had been right there and solid in a way things hadn’t been for her since she’d died the last time around so she gripped it tight. And what if the familiar banter was a bit more desperate this time and she could read the fear in his eyes when he glanced back at her, both went along with it because it was what they did and in that moment it was the only life line preventing her from sobbing.
So the dying once more had been terrifying in a way she hadn’t felt before - mainly because she’d been given the time to ponder it, to feel it - but what really tripped her up about the prison world was the sheer hope she could hold onto, even, and maybe especially, in the face of Damon’s nihilism. My personal hell he’d said and she’d laughed in her mind because she couldn’t see a scenario where either of them ended up in hell, even with the laundry list of his past. And she’d hoped, clung to Grams’ words and her own stubbornness and pulled through for both of them.
She’d been right.
As usual.
Except Kai had been unforeseen and then the arrow and the knife and the waking up in a sociopath’s house with only him and her in the world and the isolation that followed. God, the isolation . Not even the knowledge that Damon was out held her hope - she’d have rather dealt with more Kai then the absolute silence left by his exit from the prison world. She’s still not sure if she imagined it, but she’d fairly certain she felt the moment he’d gotten out, because suddenly the world just stopped and everything stilled and she’d been rummaging for a car key but even that noise lessened and then she was alone. And that had nearly killed her - again. But Damon came through, in a way he’d always done she realized much later, and she had a way out so she got out. And then chaos - Caroline, Kai, for a brief period there Lily and her Heretics.
Two years had passed until things finally calmed down. Surprised they’d even calmed down, even more shocked to learn how it’d happen - Enzo, convincing Lily to leave and Damon, listening to Bonnie for once - and Lily had taken her Heretics away and moved, Kai got thrown in a different prison world, Alaric and Jo went on the other side of the country with their twins and Bonnie got the chance to breathe some.
The prison world had also shown her other things beside horror and fear and pain though. It’d shown her that she pushed herself too far too often - Damon’d yelled at her one night some 2 months into their incarceration when she’d tried to force her magic to recover so badly she’d made herself sick, not for the first time either. She learned that there were limits to what she’s willing to do for those she cares about and that those limits were pretty strict nowadays when they’d been flimsy at best in the past - she’d broken up with Jeremy as soon as she got back and not regretted it once, she’d dated, travelled, gone clubbing and shopping and visited museum and got a few one night stands out of all of it in the time since. Figured out she knew herself, but didn’t like that she knew herself - she’d avoided thinking of the stab wound that wouldn’t heal any further then the ugly scar on her stomach until she’d been forced to and then made Damon live what it’d felt like, live and in person. And sure, Damon had fucked up and listened to Kai, but he’d come to warn her and she’d essentially stabbed him twice just so someone would feel what she’d felt, though she knew he’d been stabbed plenty of times himself - she knew he’d been abandoned many times himself as well, something she chose to ignore and capitalize on during the resulting fight.
But the most important lesson she’d learned from the prison world was that while she was willing to die for her friends, they generally weren’t willing to die for her - or better put, there were others to prevent that from happening far more often than there were for her. And that lesson? That took a long time to feel comfortable thinking.
So here she was, Mystic Falls as quiet as it had felt during her childhood, able to take a day - or two or a month or years if she so wished - and just laze about in her house without imminent danger about to crash her calm.
The hot cocoa was ready - had grown tepid in the time she’d been lost to her musings - and the popcorn lay abandoned in favour of muffins from the little bakery down the street near Caroline’s and The Bodyguard was paused on TV waiting for her to rewatch for the umpteenth time. She’d been looking forward to today. She’d just opened her online store a week ago - for small spelled trinkets and potions and occasional personal magical help - and it had taken off really quickly. Having Klaus Mikaelson vouching for her services probably helped a lot, almost as much as the Bennett last name did - but work was booming and she was only one person, even if Damon and Caroline did do the deliveries half the time, and she was grateful sure, but magic could be exhausting even when one was a prodigy. So days off were now a thing she was determined to have. Today was her day off.
A bing on her phone drew her attention. Caroline checking in to see if they were still on for Elena comfort duty tomorrow since Elena and Damon had just broken up last Wednesday. And this time it actually seemed final and her and Caroline were essentially alternating who’d go by and listen to Elena cry in her ice-cream and pat her on her back and pretend they were both surprised and saddened for the degradation of that relationship. As thought Caroline, who for all that she and Damon had buried the hatchet shortly after Caroline’s humanity had been turned back on in memory of Liz, didn't still shudder when Damon and Elena walked in holding hands, wasn’t gleefully trading texts with Enzo about it. And Bonnie, who’d had both a front row seat and a backstage pass to the Damon/Elena show , didn't knew just how harmful the relationship was to both her friends and had been silently and not so silently begging both of them to just end it before they really hurt each other. But friends must do what they must, and if what Elena needed for now was a shoulder to cry on Bonnie and Caroline would be that for her.
For a while.
Bonnie hadn’t lied or joked when she said her boundaries were drawn tightly now.
She peeked at the screen, tapped a quick thumbs up, and put the phone on vibrate. This was her day off, dammit, and she won’t push that aside, not even for her friends’ crises. She returned to the cocoa and took a sip - still good, warmer than she’d thought - and set the cup on the coffee table. She then took the small bag of muffins, ripped it open with more gusto then she’d expected; and sadly there was a casualty there - one banana muffin fell to the floor, lost forever to her taste buds since it’d been the last one - and transferred them onto a plate to deposit next to the cocoa. She sat and pressed play.
The intro rolled - gunshots, Frank’s introduction, the new assignment, Rachel’s introduction - and Bonnie bobbed her head to the music and ate two muffins and burrowed in the throw blanket on the couch as she watched Rachel and Frank meet for the first time and heard her phone vibrating off the kitchen counter. She sighed, let the scene play further, determined to ignore it and deal with it if the phone broke, when another text and another and another came - rapid fire - then finally a long rustling on the tiles - a call. Huffing, she got up, marched to where the phone had fallen and saw Damon’s name flashing on the screen - unbroken thankfully. She picked up against herself - her mind already made up to badger him until he agreed to join her like he used to in the prison world, if only as punishment for whatever it was that caused him to bother her on what he knew was her day off.
“Damon, I know I told you-”
“Bon, you need to come to the Boarding House now!” he interrupted, voice calm, but underneath that there was something frantic to his words. She felt her chest tighten - it would be just her luck that now when everything was peaceful shit would hit the fan - but tried to talk herself down from that ledge.
“It’s my day off-” she began, tone unyielding, but he interrupted again.
“I know. You need to come here, something happened - nothing life threatening!” he was quick to assure. “But there’s… someone? Yeah, someone here that just appeared, just now, and magic is the only explanation I can think of.”
She could tell he meant to apologize, it was clear from his tone and his words that he hadn’t wanted to mess with her day, but “ Damon…” disappointment peeked through nonetheless.
“Sorry Bon, I wouldn’t subject you to Katherine otherwise.” he replied, adding just under his breath afterwards “or me” and Bonnie wasn’t sure if he meant for it to be heard by her alone and not his semi-permanent guest or just not meant to be heard at all. But that convinced her enough. She sighed, stared forlornly at her TV, still focused on Whitney Huston’s face as Rachel and eyed her, by now, definitely cold cocoa and the really delicious muffins, and made up her mind.
“Ok, I’ll be there in a bit, let me get dressed.”
She could almost see the way Damon relaxed on the other line just from the breath he released and the earnest “thank you” he uttered so she ended the call and pulled up the jeans she’d thrown on the armchair last night and double checked the shirt she had on - it was a worn band t-shirt she’d had since she was 15, it would do - and grabbed her keys as she rushed out the door. She ran back in to grab the plate with the muffins and her jacket - it was late autumn after all - and pulled out the driveway. Whatever Damon was dealing with better be important or not only is she making him watch The Bodyguard with her, but also force him through Enchanted finally.
When she got to the Boarding House and saw what was going on, she decided Damon was definitely going to deal with Enchanted when this was over, because the purple swirling doorway in the small supply closet next to the front door wasn’t anything she’d ever seen before, and the woman that fell out of it and onto Katherine - knocking the vampire to the floor with a funny umph she was told later happened - was just as odd a sight. She could feel a headache coming - Damon owed her for this for sure!

Despite what happened between kai and bonnie do you think kai misses bonnie after all this time?
100% yes, cuz nothing else makes sense, canonically
so, what really gets me about bonkai is that the writers accidentally set them up as unfortunate forever soulmates because they're connected by so many things, but especially by this one experience only the two of them had and which only the two of them understand. no one else besides bonnie and kai has done the prison world experience completely alone. they're also the two people who have abandoned each other in the prison world on purpose and, in both cases, it felt like a form of personal betrayal. bonnie might have conflicted feelings about damon and elena and the prison world, but they are far less intense than what she feels for kai in relation to this very private experience. like, they had to go and make bonnie an OOC heretic in order to ramp up the drama between her and damon and her and enzo, when this conflict had already developed organically with kai a season earlier.
so, the ugliness and despair the prison world brought out of bonnie is only really understood by kai, and vice versa. like, elena & damon think they can appeal to kai's good/naive side and often underestimate him, but only bonnie knows how to tackle him, warts and all. bonnie is aware that she has a certain pull over kai, while being totally in denial about it. kai is pretty explicit about the pull he feels towards her, but he also plays it off as a fun, flirtatious dynamic when, in fact, it brings up a lot of raw emotions in him. they're both idiots about it, basically.
on top of all that, they're both witches hailing from powerful covens and have been deeply misunderstood by said covens/families. they're both prodigies in their own way and they've both operated with magic on their own, sometimes unorthodox, terms. the similarities only multiply from here.
so, given all that, i'd say kai will always miss bonnie, because she's not only "the one that got away" but literally the only person who could actually put up with him and see him for who he is. she's the only person he'd let himself feel things for. it's made clear that kai's other flings are always pragmatic/based on what he can get out of it. bonnie's that one equal with whom he'd be comfortable being vulnerable, mostly because bonnie has already made him vulnerable so many times. like sure, he also misses the cat-and-mouse games and their chemistry and banter, and i don't think he'd ever let himself be completely soft with her (bc i don't think she'd want that either), but a part of him definitely yearns to be understood. notice how many times he gets angry when people don't keep up or misinterpret his actions/intentions. bonnie is that special kind of enemy/partner that he can always rely on to get him. hell, it's canon that she can sense him through a cellphone.
the funny and bizarre tragedy of kai parker is that, for all his cons and tricks and calculated cold-bloodedness, he will forever be in earnest love with bonnie bennett, do-gooder and righteous witch who constantly decks him on sight. and he very much likes the fact that she decks him on sight. it's the funniest and most painful shit ever. i hate it here.
lol why...am i always in my bonkai feels with these asks

Tumblr media
- Was that Caroline’s voice? Okay...okay. I dig it.
- I officially hate Handon and want them done and over with.
- I want Alaric’s ass to die. Fuck him and Matt Davis.
- Justice for Bonnie Bennett.

Awake {Bonkai Fanfic}
Alright! I finished the BK Preview, it’s below the cut. NSFW obviously, I don’t think I have a single BK fic that isn’t NSFW. I could make this a two-parter or leave it honestly.

Awake
The rest of this fic was inspired by this Olake moment in Scandal

Bonnie Bennett sat on the sofa with her feet up, nursing her second glass of wine, as Mark cleared the coffee table of their plates.
“You really should let me help,” she said.
“No, no, no,” he insisted. “This was my anniversary gift to you, that means I do the clean-up.”
Bonnie smiled and beckoned him toward her, kissing him gently on the lips with the promise of something more.
“Mm,” he moaned. “I better get these done quickly.”
“Yes,” said Bonnie. “Or I might start with you.”
The knowing quirk of her eyebrow almost made Mark trip as he walked toward the kitchen, a bit of a hurry in his step. Bonnie chuckled lightly to herself and took another sip of wine, looking around at the living room. It was a mix-and-match of her belongings and Mark’s. They had only been living together for a couple of months and they still hadn’t struck a balance between their two aesthetics to make their house look more cohesive.
Bonnie sighed deeply. For the first time in a long time, she felt settled. Maybe even content. Whatever she felt, she didn’t think she’d be able to feel it again after Enzo. It had taken a few years and a lot of distance between herself and Mystic Falls to get to this place. Limited communication with Damon and Elena, with Alaric and Caroline; they only served to remind her all that she lost and keeping in regular contact with them would only eventually lead to more sacrifice on her part. She’d learned that lesson many times.
She’d met Mark during her travels around the world – in Istanbul, specifically. They were both lost in the city and it turned out they were trying to get to the same place. They spent all their time in the city together after that. Both of them were traveling though they were going to different places --- he backpacked while she enjoyed the best hotels each city could offer. They kept each other up to date on the various adventures they went on in various countries. Once they both made it back to the States, they decided to meet up, then they decided to date, then, three years later, they decided to move in together.
Bonnie laughed at hearing him whistle in the kitchen. He was a good man. Simple. He liked simple things. She opened her mouth to ask him how long he planned on taking, to tease him since history proved she didn’t need to be in the same room as him to seduce him, but a draught blew through the window and stilled her tongue. The breeze was a caress on her shoulders --- her legs erupted into goosebumps, a chill seeped through to her bones and left her breathless.
She had to go outside.
“Babe,” she called, putting down the glass. “I’ll be back in a sec.”
“Everything OK?” Mark called back from the kitchen.
Bonnie stood up. “Yeah, I just have to go outside.”
           “Why?”
Fucking hell, because! Bonnie’s swift and violent onset of impatience and irritation made her pause. There was no reason for such an aggressive reaction, even if silent, and its randomness both scared her and compelled her to see why she felt the need to go outside.
“Hun?” said Mark.
“Sorry, I just um – I think I forgot my shawl in the yard,” she said, walking to the front door.
Why was she lying to him?
           “I can get---”
“No, no! I want some fresh air anyway.”
Bonnie opened the door and walked out of the bungalow, onto the lawn. Her eyes quickly swept the street dozens of times, looking for anything out of the ordinary; but nothing about her sleepy residential neighbourhood looked out of place.
She shook her head and laughed. She must’ve imagined it or had more wine than she originally thought, a breeze was only ever a breeze, there was nothing ---
And then she felt it.
She looked to her right and a bearded man appeared, almost as if he materialized from shadows.
“Bonnie Bennett, as I live and breathe.”
Bonnie’s lips parted, she felt something inside of herself, a fire on her skin, a fire in her belly, a hatred and a - a - ferocity, a danger --- maybe even a longing? --- that felt awfully, terribly familiar and yet she didn’t recognize the man in front of her, didn’t recognize his knowing gaze or smug smirk, nothing about him registered in her mind but she felt compelled to hate him, even though she could feel that hatred met something different to them.
Finally, she spoke. She was going to say, “Do I know you?” but what came out was, “I don’t know who you are but I know you have ten seconds to get off my property.”
The man smiled at that. “Ah, I shouldn’t take it personally,” he said. “Malivore and all.”
That caught Bonnie’s attention. Malivore, whatever it was, was supernatural. Nope. Not today. She’d been done with the supernatural for years.
“I don’t know what witch business—”
“Oh no, no, no,” said the man, walking up to her, his eyebrows furrowed. The closer he came to her, the harder Bonnie’s heart started to pound. She had the irrational fear that he could hear it and she willed herself to not be so agitated, so bothered, so … hot. It was like her internal temperature rose.
“You think I came here for witch business?” His voice got soft. Dangerous. “I gave up something I’ve wanted to do for a long time to come here. To you.”
Bonnie didn’t know how she knew but she felt it in her bones that what he’d given up was some kind of evil. It infuriated her, which only served to inflame her more. What was this? Something she shouldn’t indulge, shouldn’t unleash. She should walk away. She should go back in the house, back to Mark, she’d been so content inside. Better yet, she should eviscerate him, this man she didn’t know, this man she wanted to kill and consume all at once.
“So, you know me?” she asked.
“You know, I know you.” He got closer to her. Only a few feet away now. “All these years and you can’t escape it.” He grinned, smug. Triumphant. “You don’t even know who I am and you can’t escape it.”
Oh, she hated him.
“You get any closer to me and I will hurt you,” said Bonnie through gritted teeth.
“Is that a promise?” He took another step. Bonnie swallowed hard.
“You have no idea how long I’ve been aching for you to hurt me, Bonnie Bennett.”
Cursed words. They thrilled her. They disgusted her.
“Who are you then?” she asked. “What’s your name?”
He shook his head. “No.”
She raised her eyebrows. “Excuse me?”
He walked even closer to her. “There’s no way in hell I’m telling you that and I’ve been to hell, many hells.”  He brushed his lips against her ear. “When you figure out my name, I promise you, you won’t be able to stop screaming it.”
Bonnie’s eyes fluttered. She pushed him away.
He was a stranger, she knew this, she had no recollection of him whatsoever in her mind, but her mind wasn’t the issue. She was so furious with herself that she could, she could ---
Bonnie seized Kai’s throat, her grip hard, her jaw clenched.
He laughed. “Look at you,” he said. “You’ve been lusting for this for years.”
“Fuck you,” she spat.
“You’re awake now, Bonnie,” he said. “He’ll never be enough. Not now.”
Bonnie tightened her grip, moving forward so that she slammed him against the tree.
“You don’t know anything about him.”
“Only that he isn’t me,” he said. “And now that you’ve met me, that’s always going to be unsatisfying.”
“Shut up,” she warned through clenched teeth. “You know nothing about me.”
He bore his eyes into Bonnie’s and her breathing got shallow. She felt electrified with yearning and rage, desire and contempt. His body called to hers and she responded to him in a way that felt almost cosmic. She felt him before she even saw him. Everything within her screamed for him.
“I know the part of you you thought you’d never feel again even if you don’t remember it.”
He reached forward and started to undo the first button of Bonnie’s jeans, sprouting an ache between her legs. She let go of his throat and slapped his hand away, but as soon as she did, the ache pulsed, making her convulse, and she started unbuckling his belt with a nimbleness that surprised her. He went back to undoing the rest of her buttons and she hurriedly unzipped his fly.
Quickly, he put his hand into her waistband, slipping it beneath her underwear and made contact with her ache.
           They both gasped.
“You don’t remember me but you remember this, don’t you?” he said, rubbing her.
Bonnie’s legs trembled. She bit the inside of her lip to keep from mewling, her tooth piercing it so intensely, she thought she was going to bleed.
“Don’t you?” he whispered in her ear, nipping her ear, circling his finger faster.
Shit. She did. But she couldn’t make any sound of pleasure, she couldn’t give him that satisfaction. He must’ve read her mind.
           “Tell me you like this.”
           His rhythm became agonizingly slow.
No! Please no! She pressed her lips together to keep from begging aloud but she could feel the neediness radiate from her. He knew how to torture her.
“You like it,” he said. “Tell me.”
Nothing she’d felt had been anything like this --- she craved him with a hunger that she did her best to contain, but she wanted him inside of her but oh God, she wanted him inside of her. And she hated herself for it.
Even though Bonnie didn’t say anything, he leaned down to kiss her like a gut reaction, like he couldn’t hold out waiting for her to give in, but Bonnie stopped him by returning her hand to his throat, pinning him to the tree. He didn’t get to do that. He hadn’t earned that. She slipped her free hand beneath his waistband now, holding him, her lips parting at the intensity of his hardness.
He groaned, rich and deep. Her breath hitched. She stroked him, compelling him to massage her quicker. He made no effort to contain his sighs and pants and moans --- wet noises that agitated Bonnie’s own pleasure. As if it was all too much to witness and bear at the same time, he closed his eyes.
“Look at me,” Bonnie demanded.
He moaned.
“You piece of shit, look at me.”
His eyes snapped open, hooded and cloudy. “I – fuck.”
This was wrong. So wrong. Dirty. Awful. She could feel it too --- her shame. But it felt too good for her to stop, to tell him to stop, for any of it to stop. She knew, even now, that she wanted more. She wanted it all. She ---
“Hmm.” Bonnie whimpered. She couldn’t help it. She was close. “Shit,” she moaned.
“Yes.” He smirked, his eyes alight with lust and vicious triumph. He didn’t take them off her. “Tell me you like it,” he said, his voice was breathy and greedy. He intensified his motions --- her legs were going to buckle.
“Tell me you like it,” he insisted.
“I like – I ---” Bonnie was too overcome to finish her thought. Thank God. He would’ve won otherwise.
She climaxed, her muscles spasming around his finger, and she bit him hard on the shoulder as she released, feeling the satisfaction of him convulsing against her body as she pushed him over the edge.
There were a few moments of them slumped against each other, panting and jelly-legged, where there was nothing but oblivion and then --- Mark’s voice.
“This sure as fucking hell isn’t the backyard.”

Thoughts on bonnie bennett and how julie plec and her little friends keep trying to use bonnie for their legacies show
⚠️ trigger warning; mentions of rape, molesting, murder, brining up trauma & suffering, etc.
- Also you do not need to agree with me with what I have written in response, it’s my opinion and I don’t believe everyone will share the same opinion and interpretations as I do. It has been awhile since I’ve talked/ and watched the vampire diaries so some points/ information may be a little off or not exactly accurate.
my thoughts on Bonnie Bennett herself ..
Miss girl carried the show. I love her character [ even if she was done dirty ] She’s a powerful woman and honestly it’s surprising to see that they made a black woman have the amount of power and success as they did but even if they did have Bonnie ( & the other Bennett witches ) being a strong character there were quite a few stereotypes as well as the treatment Bonnie gets as well as Kat Graham. Such as the treatment she is given by her ‘friends’ she’s like the third wheel, not taken seriously, and she’s taken for granted almost always, plus I do not like how the writers made Bonnie and Damon be friends ( this can also apply to Caroline and Elena ) and why this is Damon was far from a good person, her murders and turns people for fun, he RAPED and basically molested Caroline who in the beginning was a sixteen year old girl. And Kat not having stylists to style her hair type and having her use a wig instead of her natural hair, Bonnie’s whole relationship with her parents; divorced, mother left and her father was absent until his appearance in season 4 and was killed off. Also Julie Plec had written her off hence her first death In the show ( the only time I will be thankful for Ian Somerhalder ), killing off her love interests, discrimination ( from tvd ‘fans’ and most likely some of the cast as well ) They honestly could have done so much more for Bonnie instead of just being the witch to sacrifice everything for Elena and suffering throughout the course of the show. I’m going to be honest I could see Bonnie being ace/aro but that’s just my interpretation. Even in the vampire diaries they downplayed what she went through ( they only really focused on Elena’s trauma and suffering ) and yes my girl is strong and accepts and deals with her suffering and low points differently I just feel like it’s based off of stereotypes for black woman, and while Bonnie has developed through the seasons of tvd but it seems half assed if you know what I mean?? Anyways this was kind of a rant … sorry about that, i truly do love Bonnie but there’s just aspects of her character that needs to be brought to attention.
Now with Julie Plec and them trying to use her for legacies ; I’m going to be honest .. I’m not all that up to date with legacies, I avoid it. So what I’ve written here is what I’ve seen and read from others … that I agree with & making my own points as well. I know she’s been referenced a couple of times in the shit show .. and her character is basically being overlooked and thrown to the side. She’s given no credit to the Salvatore boarding school, her relationships/bonds to returning characters ( Alar*c , Jeremy, Kai, Dorian, ) and new/ legacies created characters ( Landon, Josie and Lizzie ) I know that Landon says that Bonnie wasn’t there half the time. Clearly wrong, Bonnie was almost always there for the mystic falls gang and to me that’s not necessarily a good thing for her own mental health and mind state. She’s been stated as a aunt figure for the Saltzman twins as Josie refers to her once as “aunt Bonnie” but I think that was just to use her character for legacies in a sense. I guess they sort of shit talk her, downplay her importance in tvd and what she did for mystic falls, accomplishments and all her friends. Uh yeah legacies definitely does use Bonnie ( and Caroline too . Like wtf is up with her storyline in legacies ? I get that the actresses don’t want to return to play their characters, I can see and understand why but the writers could have chosen a different route for them. Legacies is supposed to be about the newer generation/ and hope M, or at least that was my understanding when I found out about Legacies so referencing and using Bonnie’s character is uncalled for and inessential ) it’s almost like their trying to please & tease the fans by referencing characters to gain more views or uh to keep the show going perhaps. Not a big fan of how the legacies creators and writers go about using Bonnie the context of how they go about it is unnecessary, they don’t give any context for what Bonnie has been doing since the season finale in tvd nor the impacts she has made in mystic falls and the people in her life. Sooo yeah, I hope this made sense.

Of Revelations and Shattering
Originally called, Bennett’s Saviors.
----------------
She was done, Bonnie Shelia Bennett could honestly say that she was totally and completely done. All of this started when the Salvatore’s first came to town, everything went downhill from there.
Bonnie found out that she is a witch, Emily’s amulet (also known as her talisman) resurfaced, then the séance and Emily taking her body over, Damon ripping out her neck in anger, Stefan saving her life by giving her his blood, Anna and her vampire pets, opening the tomb, her grams dying, her help constantly being asked for and taken for granted, Katherine coming to town bringing a whole shit show, Elijah showing up, Klaus coming, Bonnie being forced to fake her death, then risk her life again to bring Klaus to the brink and Elijah betraying them, Klaus leaving and taking Stefan with him, Klaus coming back and forcing Bonnie to get him his answers, Mikael coming to town, Klaus killing Mikael, Stefan stealing Klaus’s family, Stefan forcing Bonnie to help him, finding her mother, waking Esther, Esther channeling from her family line, Elijah forcing Damon and Stefan to kill her mother, Esther and Finn running, Caroline being the only one to help Bonnie and her mom, Elena trying to claim victim, Abby skipping town, Klaus threatening and forcing Bonnie to break the link, Bonnie not being able to force herself to help Damon; hell how was she supposed to do that when she can’t even save herself? Elena giving her shit for not helping Damon; since when did Damon become more important than her friends? Then Bonnie’s friends consistently ignoring her until the need her for something. All of it came to a violent harsh head that completely made her emotions shatter out of her the moment she got back to her grams house.
It was the only place that she felt relatively safe and at peace in, but it only caused her already shattered heart to break more. Bonnie couldn’t stop the heart wrenching sobs the came out of her. She felt well and truly alone as she looked around at the dark house. All the doors to the outside world are closed and locked, along with the windows. Bonnie had enough control still about her person to make sure she locked the front door behind her.
The complete stillness in the house made her body shake, the lack of her grams light and presence made the house feel cold as ice; even though the thermostat said that it was at a warm temperature. Bonnie curled in on her self on the floor of the entryway. Her reality came crashing down on her; her grams is dead - the only person that was there for her is gone and she isn’t coming back, Abby left again, her father is never home and never checks up on his daughter, her friends aren’t even her friends anymore (other than Matt and Caroline), and the supernatural chaos that is going on in Mystic Falls is causing for her to be in over her head.
Bonnie may be a witch, but she isn’t experienced, hell she just found out she was a witch at the beginning of the supernatural bullshit. Bonnie finds herself wishing that her grams would have taught her from the very beginning. She has a sinking feeling that she wouldn’t have done even half of the things she did; if only she had the knowledge that most witches did by her age.
Bonnie could feel her depleted magic swirling violently inside of her, causing her to tightly wrap her arms around her legs and bury her face against her knees. Bonnie welcomed the uncomfortable feeling of being on her side on the hard wood floor. Hot tears flowed down her face as everything became overwhelming, bonnie couldn’t stop the thought of wanting all of it to end.
She felt her magic expand and contract, swirling around inside and outside of her. Bonnie felt as though she was outside of her body watching herself shaking, crying, completely losing it as her magic reacts to her realization and suffocating desolation. After she lost consciousness; it caused a chain reaction to snowball outwards.
Her grams’ house rapidly lost its temperature - quickly becoming frigid - causing all electricity to short circuit as the pipes froze and ice climbed and spiderwebbed across the walls. A shield of energy went out to the outline of the property to block anyone and anything from getting in. A violent earthquake started right under Bonnie and expanded out into Mystic Falls and the surrounding towns.
All the while her grams, Emily, and the rest of her ancestors watch on in worry, sadness, empathy, and guilt. They all know that Bonnie shouldn’t have to deal with all of this by herself, especially at her age and lack of education. All of them decide to keep vigil over there descendent. The temperature is decreasing fast and their worry is increasing as they watch Bonnie’s small body violently shiver in the cold.
Ayana walks to Bonnie’s body and hovers her hands over her shuddering form; gauging her energy and lifeforce. She pulls away soon after and exchanges a troubled look with Shelia. Soon after the look is exchanged Ayana disappears and the other Bennett’s gather closely around Bonnie’s body and hope that she can pull out of this.
Meanwhile, Ayana makes some ghostly visits to Bonnie’s so called ‘friends’, the originals that are still in mystic falls, and starts to look for the last white oak stake. Her first move was finding the white oak and destroying the last of it once and for all. Ayana would deal with Esther Mikaelson later, after all... Ayana has a bone to pick.
Ayana quickly finds the white oak stake and teleports herself and the stake to a safe place. She starts on the spell that had been in the making since the Mikaelson children had been turned. She watched as the spell took affect with thinly veiled pleasure. Ayana had never took such joy in watching white oak burn before. It helped that she knew that with this last white oak burning, it was getting rid of anything that could kill the Mikaelson family. After all, she always saw those troubled children as her own.
Once all of it burned to ash, she waved her hand and it scattered to the wind. By the time the nature around the area calmed; Ayana was gone and there was no sign of anything being different. By the time she reappeared she was in the Salvatore Boarding House. Ayana couldn’t stop the sneer that came on her normally serene features as she looked upon the Salvatore brothers and their doppelganger.
They were the root cause of everything bad that has happened to her descendent since day 1 of all this supernatural business. They were the ones that brought all of it to Bonnie’s front door; or rather their front door and dragged her descendent into the mess. Causing Bonnie to lose almost all of her loved ones, other than her father. The thought of Rudy causes Ayana to snort (heck the thought of even Abby does to).
Ayana shakes her head at even thinking of Abby, that was one woman who made her bed long before she was turned into a vampire. “Good Riddance.” Ayana mumbled to herself as her eyes rolled. To put it plainly... Abby Bennett is a disgrace to the Bennett line (her being a vampire is not the cause).
The doppelgangers voice jerks Ayana out of her stupor. Her eyes coolly flick towards the doppelganger as she whines about the Mikaelson's. Both of the Salvatore's are quick to comfort her and tell her that Bonnie will help find a way to kill them. Causing Ayana to sharpen her eyes and scoff. Kill the rest of the Mikaelson’s? Had the Salvatore's not already caused enough pain and problems? They almost succeeded in killing Finn, thanks to Kol, Finn was able to get out of town. And to bring her descendent into it without asking her? Hell no, Ayana felt iron and determination fill her being. Those Salvatore's and Gilberts (yes both Gilberts, the male one is just as much to blame as the female) are not going to get anywhere near Bonnie if she had something to say about it (which she does).
Bonnie Shelia Bennett would get away from all of this, even if it ends in Ayana losing herself. Ayana gets a sharp and panicked message from all of her passed on descendants and takes one last look at the... creatures and much like the wind she disappeared just as fast as she appeared. Leaving the Salvatore Boarding house to fall further and further into darkness.
When she reappears she is inside the Bennett home. Ayana can tell that the temperature has dropped to negatives. She looks to her descendants hoping that one of them will explain to her what is happening. All of them look just as confused and worried as she is. Bonnie should not be reacting this harshly to being shown what they are showing her. Especially with her full potential in magic coming to her. Then, Shelia rushes through the crowd, “There’s something wrong... something seriously wrong.” before Ayana can even process Shelia’s words; Shelia is already dragging Ayana towards her grandbaby.
Once Ayana was within sight of her, she couldn’t stop the gasp that escaped her lips. Bonnie is shivering so hard that the small entry table is shaking along with the picture frame on top of it. Her skin was pale - deathly so, blue is starting to tint her skin; and her normally thick, rich black hair has streaks of white running throughout it. It also looks as though it could break with a feather light touch.
Right as Ayana went to turn her head to look to Shelia, she grabbed her arm, “No, keep watching... My grandbaby is suffering. Every couple of minutes more white covers her hair.” so Ayana kept watch with the rest of the Bennett's. What felt like hours was only a few minutes and before Ayana’s eyes; another streak of white overtook a piece of Bonnie’s hair.
Ayana slowly shakes her head, “I’ve never seen something like this before...” she whips around to face all the other Bennett's. “How long has this been happening? I wasn’t gone that long!” Shelia just looks at her, worry overtaking everything about her. “Ayana, you’ve been gone for a week. You lost sense of time. Although you didn’t miss to much; other than the temperature getting lower and lower, then about a day ago the white started to appear, and of course none of my grandbaby’s friends have even bothered to try and check on her.”
Shelia is practically shaking with the fury that fills her being thinking of Bonnie’s “friends”. They don’t deserve her grandbaby and they most definitely don’t deserve everything that Bonnie has done for them. Shelia turns toward fully to face Ayana. “I don’t care what you have to do to help my granddaughter. I don’t care if you get the Mikaelson’s, in fact I would prefer them over her friends.” Shelia practically sneers the word friends, but just as fast as the fury came, sorrow and fear overtakes Shelia; causing her shoulders to slump.
Ayana doesn’t reply, she just disappears; leaving the Bennett's to watch as more white overtakes Bonnie’s hair. The moment Ayana opens her eyes again, she is in the living room of the Mikaelson mansion looking at Elijah, Kol, and Klaus. Elijah is reading a book that looks like it is about to disintegrate, Klaus is painting, and Kol is sprawled out on the couch playing around with his new phone.
Ayana takes a deep breath to steal herself and to bring more strength to her being. After all she hasn’t seen or talked to the Mikaelson children for at least 1,000 years. The moment Ayana feels steel come into her spine, she straightens and allows herself to be seen by them. “Elijah, Niklaus, and Kol Mikaelson you are going to listen to what I have to say and you are going to do what I ask you.” All of them whip to face her in shock and disbelief, their jaws are practically dropped to the floor.
Before they can say or do anything, Ayana starts speaking again. “I understand that you have a lot of questions, but there is no time left for my last living descendent. I need you to go to Shelia Bennett’s old house and find and help Bonnie Bennett. She’s dying and her friends cannot and will not help her. Go and help her now!” There is a long pause as they finally catch up with what Ayana said and their mouths close. “Please hurry, Bonnie Bennett is almost out of time.”
Before they can even open their mouths to respond... Ayana is gone and back with the other Bennett's. “Bloody hell.” The Mikaelson brothers all breathe at the same time. Their eyes go between each other and the space where Ayana used to stand. Klaus’s jaw works a bit as if he is trying to find the words that he wants to say. While Elijah looks stuck deep within his thoughts, Kol is staring off into space his mind working through what Ayana just told them.
The moment Ayana’s words click in his mind he can’t stop his outburst. “Bloody hell! Why are we just standing here. Come on you bloody wankers, I’ll drag your asses with me if I have to!” Then Kol is gone, speeding off towards the late Shelia Bennett's home; leaving his brothers gaping. They snap out of their state soon after and take off after their younger brother.
Right as the come up beside their brother, the notice a forcefield around the entire property. It’s a good thing humans don’t have enhanced abilities because they would all be freaking out. Klaus carefully reached out and brushed his fingers against the forcefield and felt sharp pinpricks against his fingertip as they travel to his hand and up his arm. An involuntary hiss escapes him at the pain as he jerks his hand away; he quickly exchanges looks with both of his brothers as he shakes his hand out.
“This isn’t going to work, we won’t be able to get through this. I highly doubt that the little witch would allow for the forcefield to be week enough for us to run through it.” Kol just gives Klaus a bland look upon hearing his words as Elijah studies the forcefield.
“Come now brother, where is your sense of adventure? Besides, I don’t believe the young Bennett witch is aware of what her magic is doing. Her magic recognizes us as a threat. We just have to only think of helping her. No ulterior motives and not have a hint of harmful intent towards her.”
Klaus scoffs and rolls his eyes “How exactly would you know that Kol? That just sounds like a load of shit.” Kol immediately feels his ire and years of resentment build up. “What else would you suggest brother? For the amount of witches you have had under your control and doing your bidding you really know nothing. Tell me brother, do you know anything about energy or witches unconsiouce protective magic?” At that Kol reaches towards Bonnie’s forcefield, blantantly ignoring Elijah’s warning of “Kol...” and puts his hand through it.
Then Kol calmly walks through and then turns to face his confused brothers. “See brother, control your thoughts and your intent and the magic will allow you to pass through.” Kol carefully reaches out and allows his fingers to run allow the magic - revealing in the dearly missed feeling that nearly drove him mad with grief. “Think of it this way brother, magic is alive and has a mind of its own. It’s only intent right now is to protect its wielder, it doesn’t go off of the past experiences its wielder has had with one person. Magic goes off of intent and energy of the person that is trying to gain access.”
Kol crosses his arms, after of course waving his arm towards the house as if to say ‘come on’. Elijah carefully reaches out and allows for the magic to run against him and through him. Checking his intent, his energy, his heart. Eventually it pulls away slowly and Elijah steps through and ends up right next to Kol. Klaus just studies them a bit, scoffs, and shakes his head. He allows his jaw to work a bit then roughly pushes out a breath and slowly reaches out again.
His hand makes contact with the shield and he feels the magic rise up to him fast and it feels like thousands upon thousands of little knives stab into him. Klaus grits his teeth to stop himself from yelling out. Then, the pain stops... and all he feels is a cool soothing wave go through his body as the magic leaves. Klaus steps through and Kol gives him a smug look and Klaus response is a mutinous glare.
As they get closer to the house they notice veins of ice and frost running all over the house. The front door is covered in a layer of ice, “In all the time I have spent with the witches... I have never heard of or seen something like this.” Before Klaus or Elijah can respond, Shelia appears to the side of them. “You can enter, there is no need for an invitation.” Elijah goes to say that they have to have one, but Shelia smiles a little and holds up her hand. “All of us Bennett witches are here, you don’t need an invitation from the owner because you have one from all of us.” Shelia’s eyes become sharp as steel, “Do not make us regret our decision, you will lose your invitation so fast that your head will spin.”
Immediately all three Mikaelson brothers feel like chastised children (the only Mikaelson that hadn’t done something to Bonnie is Kol and he was daggered almost the whole time) and obediently nod. Shelia automatically gets a smile back on her face and waves them toward the door and then she disappears inside.
Klaus harshly punches the layer of ice covering the door causing it to shatter like spun glass. Then Kol grabs the handle and twists harshly to break the lock and allow the door to swing open. The cold that rushes over them causing all of the Mikaelson’s to let an involuntary shudder run through their bodies. All of their eyes fall to the small shivering body whose hair is completely white.
All of their eyes widen in panic and shocked confusion, Elijah quickly takes off his suit jacket and moves toward Bonnie. Causing his younger brothers to shake themselves out of their astonishment. “Have you ever...” “No, never.” Their words trail into each other causing them to not realize who said what. The brothers are so invested in helping Bonnie that the don’t hear cars park on the curb in front of the house.
They silently decide that Klaus is the best one to carry Bonnie since he naturally runs hotter than his half-brothers. Once they step out of the house they can sense that the Bennett spirits have locked the house up tight and left the place; knowing that their last descendent would be taken care of. Kol, Elijah, and Klaus all tense up the moment the step onto the lawn. Of course the rest of the scooby gang decide that now is a good time to show up. They decide now that Bonnie is worth the effort.
Klaus can’t stop the scoff of disbelief that escaped him he’s assuming they have deemed her worthwhile now that they need her help. By the looks on Kol and Elijah’s faces they are in agreeance with Klaus. Bonnie’s so called friends immediately crowd the forcefield causing the Mikaelson brothers to watch in thinly veiled amusement as all of them get shocked by it (except for Matt and Caroline, although they are not allowed through).
Elena finally speaks, begging them not to hurt Bonnie and saying how if they want herself they can take her (they just had to leave Bonnie alone) causing the Salvatores to automatically negate what she said. Elijah cool voice quiets everyone. “Miss Gilbert, not everything is about you and if you paid more attention to your friends rather than whichever Salvatore brother you are sleeping with at the moment... You’d know that Miss Bennett has been in pain for a long time. While she has been getting closer and closer to deaths door this past week.” Elijah calmly tilts his head and plays with his cuff link as he lightly smirks. “You, Miss Gilbert, have been to busy spreading your legs for two different men to care for you supposed best friends.”
Klaus snickers with a grin while Kol outright laughs; while the Salvatores lung at the forcefield and are flung from it (but after it fries them a little). While Caroline's mouth drops open, Matt’s eyes widen, and Elena let out a gasp with hurt in her eyes. Klaus quickly quiets when he notices that Bonnie is still freezing, he frowns as he brings his face closer to her. He realizes that the cold seems to be coming from the very core of her being.
Klaus turns his attention to Elijah and Kol; they quickly speak in the mother tongue and before any of the scooby gang can hope to react or say anything, Klaus is gone and Bonnie with him. Elijah and Kol can sense the moment the shield disappears with Bonnie leaving the area. Although, they can easily sense all of the Bennett ancestors watching and waiting. Elijah pierces the Salvatore’s with a cool and deadly look causing them to stop in their tracks. Damon and Stefan exchange disturbed looks as they both feel a shudder go down their spines.
Elijah turns his head toward Caroline and Matt, “Miss Forbes... Matt, both of you are welcome to come to the Mikaelson home to check on Miss Bennett. We will be taking care of her wellbeing from here on out. So I suggest that you do not come up with some ill-advised rescue plan. If you cause us any problems or Miss Bennett any grief... You will be found at a later date. Salvatores... Miss Gilbert, you three are not welcome. If you cause problems at my home or for Miss Bennett. I’m afraid I will let go of all control I am exerting to not rip your hearts from your chests.”
Damon, Stefan, and Elena pale, before Caroline or Matt can respond to what Elijah told them; Kol and Elijah are gone. The entire scooby gang is left on the late Shelia Bennett's lawn, gaping at what just happened.
-----
There is going to be a second part... I just feel like this is way to long! I might end up breaking it up into three parts? Anyway, I hope you like how it is going so far!
Peace, Love, and Joy!

Mystic Fourth
Fourth of July has always been a big deal for the little town of Mystic Falls. During the day there are parades, family togethers and large picnics. All the women put on their little red, white and blue sundresses. The men scramble to the stores making sure they are properly stocked up on beer and fireworks for the evening. Normally, Bonnie loved Fourth of July. She would spend the day with her grandma. The two would grill out. Her grandmother would tell stories of her childhood and stories that her mother had passed down to her. Many of the stories Bonnie had heard before and often times she questioned how true they were. But the truth of the stories and how often she had heard them mattered little. What mattered was that valuable family time she got to spend with her grandmother. After this came the time night of friendship and looking up at the sky as she would watch it explode into different arrangement of colors. Each explosion more beautiful than the last. However this year was different. For the first time in many years Bonnie wasn’t filled with a sense of joy as she awoken. She woke with a heavy heart. So much had changed for the young witch since only one year ago. Her grandmother had passed on to another life and her friends seemed to grow more and more distance from her every day. Caroline would occasionally make time for her, but she was often busy with her new boyfriend. And Elena? Well, trying to get that girl to pay her any mind felt like a more and more impossible task. Elena was constantly either run from or to some new vampire driven thing. It wasn’t all her fault, but it grew tiresome. Some days Bonnie wanted to be exactly what she was a human. Sure, she was a witch.
But, her whole world did not need to be that of the supernatural. This was something that Elena did not grasp or Bonnie did not think so. The way she disgustingly ran into the arms of Stefan at every turn made Bonnie’s skin crawl. Didn’t Elena understand that so much what they all have lost is because of beings like him? No. Not just beings like him…..STEFAN directly could be faulted for many of the horrors this town had been forced to endure. It felt like every time Bonnie pointed this out Elena stood up for Stefan. Elena never failed to have his back…..But who had Bonnie’s back these days? Nobody. This realization had come to the witch’s attention before, but today as she laid in bed staring up at her ceiling it was hitting her hard. It took almost an hour before the young woman found the needed will power to move herself from the small comfort which her bed was providing her with. This year there would be no dressing up for Bonnie she decided. Nope. She was going to treat this day as if it was any other day. Instead of getting a cute little themed sundress Bonnie had jean shorts. For a tops she wore a ruffled mustard colored off the shoulders tee shirt. The shirt showcased a small amount of flat toned stomach when she reached her arms up. Knowing her friends would be busy with their own families and boyfriends Bonnie took the time to really pamper herself. She painted her nails a gold along with her toes to match. Bonnie took the time really get her cat eyes down pack in shades of shimmering gold. The final touch was a deep red lipstick that had a hint of sparkle to it. Looking at herself in the mirror Bonnie smiled. These days she rarely liked what she saw looking back at her. She so often felt like she hardly knew the woman who stood before, but she saw what others so foolish ignored. A strong powerful woman with looks that could kill. Bonnie spent the rest of her day lounging around the house. Much to her dismay, but not to her shock…..Not once did anybody bother checking in on her. Too busy with their own lives and that was understandable. They should be enjoying today should they not? They all had families to spend time with and people to dot on. Still, it hurt to know that while they all had somebody she had nothing. She couldn’t help, but feel a bit bitter. Why did everyone else in the world get somebody and she got nothing? What had she possibly done so wrong in life that she should have to end up alone? She did not understand, and the more she tried the more hurt she felt. By the time the sun was starting to set Bonnie felt herself becoming far too wrapped in her own self pity. And she wouldn’t stand for that. Bonnie Bennett would never be the girl who sat around crying for herself. If she did not like the way her life was going she would take matters into her own hands and change it.
“Fuck it.”
Muttered Bonnie to herself. She dragged herself off the sofa where she had spent most of the day reading and watching chick flicks. Bonnie headed to the kitchen and grabbed her purse along with her keys off the counter. Her favorite part of Fourth of July had always been the fireworks. She hadn’t missed seeing them since she was ten years old. Even if she had to see them alone she now decided she was not going to miss out on them. No more brooding inside. It was time for her new begins to start. Strong women do not need others to have fun. They can make their own fun. That is what she told herself as she headed to her front door. She even had a confident smile on her lips by the time she got there that is until she opened her door. Her whole face dropped and her bright green eyes narrowed. Standing in her doorway was the one man she wanted to see least of all right now. Damon.
“Are you looking for a headache? Because you are about to get a Hell of one if you do not get off my porch right now.”
Damon let out a laugh and smirked at Bonnie. His ice blue eyes locked onto her and Bonnie felt a chill run down her spine. He was danger given human form. He was part of everything she hated right now. Part of everything that had put her into a place of being so isolated. Why was he here? What could he possibly want with her now?
“Aww. You’d do that to me before I have a chance to explain myself? And they call me hotheaded.”
Tilting her head to the side only a few degrees Bonnie smiled coldly at Damon. The oldest Salvatore brother was in the process of winking at her when it hit him. His brain felt as if it was on fire. Every nerve ending was screaming in pain. Falling to his knees he pressed his hand against his temples.
“OKAY! OKAY! Point made! STOP! I GIVE!”
It was tempting to keep going. Oh how wonderful it would have felt to let this place out. Bonnie could have done it too. She was powerful enough. She could have kept going till Damon was dead for good. But that isn’t the kind of person she is. Bonnie isn’t someone who can murder without it being a last resort. Bonnie ended Damon’s torment and with speed only possibly of the supernatural he was back on his feet.
“I should snap your neck for that.”
“But you won’t. Why are you here?”
Damon scowled and ran a hand through his thick dark hair. She was right. He wasn’t going to kill her for it. Even if it wouldn’t piss everyone off and even if she did not have powers of her own he still wouldn’t kill her. Despite their disagreements he had respect for Bonnie. She was a woman who could stand her ground and did not take shit from anyone himself included. Bonnie was also witty and when she wasn’t being a total bitch to him she could be fun. He was drawn to her in a way he had never been drawn to someone before. Not Katherine or even Elena whom the town seemed to think his brother and him obsessed over. He’d never admit it, but he maybe…..Possibly liked Bonnie.
“Jeez. I was here to see if Elena stopped by. She wasn’t at her place and I assu—-“
Holding up a hand to stop Damon from finishing his sentence Bonnie walked by him and headed towards her car. She did not have time for this vampire shit. Not tonight. Tonight she wanted to be selfish for just once. Just once she wanted to do something for herself, and that something was seeing those damn fireworks. “Whatever you thought. You thought wrong. She said she was spending the day with family and then going to see the fireworks with Stefan. Try her cell and again, get off my porch.” Knitting his eyebrows together Damon frowned. In flash he was by Bonnie’s car and blocking her from getting to it. Bonnie was about ready to really fry his brain up.
“He never mentioned it to me.”
“I wonder why. Maybe he didn’t want you messing up his night. Move.”
There was that wit. This was part of what he both loved and hated about the lady. She wasn’t scared of him. Bonnie wasn’t like others. She didn’t say things only to hurt him and Bonnie never said things only to please him either. Bonnie told him things like they were. Out of all the people in his life she was the most openly honest with him. He never really thought about that until this moment. The thought made him frown for half a second before he put a cocky grin up. The same grin that constantly earned him an eye roll from the female standing before him.
“Why are you so anxious to leave? You got a hot date? Somebody finally took an interest in you instead of all your friends?”
Ouch. She hadn’t expect for it to hurt that but Damon’s words cut much deeper than anything else he had ever said to her. And the pain showed in Bonnie’s eyes. For the first time in many years it made Damon feel an emotion he thought he rid himself of. Guilt. He hadn’t meant to be cruel. Honestly! He had been joking. It was meant to mock the ones around her who were too stupid to realize what a stunning woman she was. Damon looked away from her.
“Not that it’s your business, but I am going to see the fireworks. And I don’t have and I do not need a damn date for that.”
Her tone was a mix of unexpected bitterness and a hint of sadness towards the end. Bonnie hated herself for sounding what she viewed as weak. She fully expected for Damon to jump on this and mock her. Why wouldn’t he? He loved getting under her skin and she had made a perfect opening. What happened next she never would have expected.
“You’re full of shit. You have a date.”
Both eyebrows jolted upwards expressing shock. What the Hell did he thinks she was hiding a date from him now!? Bonnie attached as Damon finally stepped aside only to appear at the other side of her car. She opened her mouth to argue with him, but before she could do so he grinned at her. The witched closed her mouth and waited to see what was so amusing to the elder Salvatore now.
“You got me.”
Oh this was too good. Bonnie bursted out laughing. Was he serious? She opened her car door now that he had moved and got in. Maybe if she started up the car he would go find someone else to bug. But, no…..He opened the car door on his side and got in.
“You’re kidding, right? Why?”
Shutting his door Damon put his seat belt showing that he was serious and shrugged over at her. She was right to question it. He was even questioning himself for once.
“Why not? Not like either of us have a date, right?"
Closing her own door Bonnie also buckled up and started her car. She should kick him out and drive a million miles away from Damon. He was the definition of bad idea, but she couldn’t get herself to do it. After all they had been through together. All the shit he had done to her, she should hate him. Had she been thinking all day about how vampires had helped to ruin her life? Still, looking over at him she couldn’t do it. She couldn’t make him leave. They weren’t as different as she pretended them to be. Both were alone in this world and both were constantly tossed aside in favor of others. He had been tossed aide by Katherine, Elena and even in his brother. She hated to think, but maybe this was okay. Maybe it was okay for two lonely souls to spend one night together. Not that they were doing THAT. They would ONLY be seeing fireworks. That is ALL! Her face softened.
“Fine. But this isn’t a date. Just two people watching fireworks together. That’s it. Try to make it into anything else and I will melt your brain right out your ears understood?”
Her comment brought a smile to his face. Damon leaned his seat back and kicked his feet up onto the dashboard. Lacing the fingers of his hands together he placed them behind his head.
“Sure. I got it. Your lose. I also got the perfect place for us to go.”
“Of course you do. Lay it on me.”
As she pulled out of her driveway Bonnie is shaking her head at Damon, but for the first time all day her heart feels light. She’s has a smile on her face that isn’t forced or the product of bitterness it’s one of excitement. Her tradition will live on. She will be seeing fireworks with someone she cares about tonight after all.

coming back was a mistake?
Tumblr media
the reader bonds with kai over their shared dislike of mystic falls
previous part
kai parker x fem!reader
word count: 4180
music: cherry by lana del rey, stella maris by moby
She came to the football field every evening at approximately the same time. Kai started weighing which sight he liked more: the pretty smart dog catching its frisbee in the air, or the grumpy girl in her skin-shade top, running around like the devil was trying to bite her in the ass.
Well, the dog hopped so high, and it was so lively! Plus, dogs are all adorable.
But the crop top though.
After several evenings Kai started noticing the pattern. She always stood in one place, as she was catching her breath, and looked at the clouds. She might not even notice she stops at the same very spot every time she finishes running. After the second evening, and after she left, Kai came down to the court and put a scratch five inches long on the ground with a jackknife. She always stood exactly there. He looked up into the now darkened sky, seeing the first stars, and pondered, as if her thoughts could be captured by him now, floating there, above where she’d been. What was she crying about so gravely? Her hands were shaking as she pressed them into her mouth, like children do. After she was done, she walked away to her house, relieved, and didn’t look back.
That was puzzling. Might as well busy himself with the mystery of the sad moody girl who cries on the football field every evening, while he’s waiting for the merge.
Tumblr media
You stood, silently praising yourself for throwing your jacket into the car at the last moment (come on, monkey! we ain’t got any more time! Damon was yelling. He couldn’t hide how much he liked it when you came to visit every year, and you felt bad for despising the visits). The wind was unusually ferocious for the warm month, but then again, this place was deep in the waterfall region, up in the hills, an open spot. Plus, there must have been some hardcore magic ingrained right in the soil. As you stood, and watched, while the Salvatore brothers were humping and cracking their backs, digging up the earth, you pretended to feel the magic oozing out. The burial places always felt special. Having lived in Mystic Falls, you worked up this rare type of intuition.
You didn’t want to come. As you returned, and was busted by the Mystic Falls gang on the very first evening, you reminded them of your foremost rule: you do not engage in their bullshit anymore. Let them fight all the original vampires of the planet... or the werewolves... whatever... you only came back once a year, for seven days, and weren’t keeping up with the Draculashians. A tiny part of you was curious. But it hit back hard, every time. Involving yourself in the MF action was dangerous, and made you feel like an old woman who keeps complaining about them kids being loud in the street.
You were on your way to Caroline’s when somebody called Damon, and he put on his working face. Turned out, they need to undig some bodies exactly today, because the Little Shit (Damon didn’t specify whom they referred to) made his conditions. Well, work’s work. You hadn’t been to this spot before. From up here, you could even see the distand hills of New Orleans. You missed that place.
“How many bodies do you need?” you asked them. Stefan stood up to look at you curiously. As if saying, there are the bodies - we need to get them. Get them all!
“It’s not how many”, Damon helped, “it’s which ones”.
“And what are you gonna do with them?”
“I will eat them”, somebody whispered. You shivered a little under your clothes, but didn’t budge. You looked at your side. Malachai from the bar.
“Joking”, he snickered, “I don’t eat corpses. But I do have jello worms, you want some?”
You examined him thoroughly.
“You have blue ones?”
He looked down the pack.
“I think so...”
As you tried to fish out the blue ones, he looked at you.
“Do you eat bodies?” he asked.
“No, not really”, he sighed. “Thanks”.
“Mm-hm”, he was chewing, looking at the vampire brothers as they worked. Damon shot you two a glance which didn’t say anything specific.
“You’re the Little Shit?” you guessed.
“They call me that? Rude”, he moved his shoulder as if he was a bit cold. “I guess I do somewhat irritate them”.
“Somewhat?!” Damon growled. You cringed.
“And what are you, a digging up works inspector?” Kai went on. You grinned.
“Oh, you’re Y/N! You’re the girl they’ve been talking about, non-stop”, he realized.
At the grave, the brothers exchanged glances, since of course, they haven’t been talking about you in Parker’s presence.
You nodded.
“You long here?”
“A week”, you said, and rubbed your arms, “why is it so damn cold”.
“It’s the spirits disagreeing with the whole vandalizing ungraving, you know. I can’t calm them down just yet”, the guy said knowingly. You wondered internally what he was after all. He squatted a bit, putting his palm to the ground.
“Hold it”, the pack of candy was shoved into your hand and you filled your mouth with sour-sweet worms. Your jaws were about to get glued together.
“Woah, yeah, they fight back”, he took the hand away. “Listen, you”, he pointed his finger at the soil. You looked up at Damon and Stefan, asking them silently what was up with this dude. “I’m about to suck out your whole miserable existence, so you better comply, bitches”.
“Bonnie’s really good at communicating with spirits”, you said musingly.
“She’s also very good at lying, cheating and tricking people into trusting her and then stabbing them in the back”, Malachai said happily, standing up. He reached for some worms politely, forgetting it was his pack to begin with.
“You’ve met her?”
“Met her? Ha, I’ve been locked up with her. What a controversial creature”.
“Where is she? I haven’t seen her since I came”.
“Yeah, she’s... uh...” Kai cocked his head, thinking, “I might have left her in a... magical prison, you know”.
“What an asshole”, you said. You remembered the judgemental, brilliant, restless Bonnie Bennett. “Get her back”.
“It’s not that easy, miss”, Malachai sniffed. “Why do you care, anyway?”
“We studied together”.
“Okay then. See the diggers? We’re doing this all to get back there and get Bon Bon out”.
Damon puffed as if he could get tired. He was just probably listening and was severely annoyed. You knew at once when you saw Kai here how Damon could be deeply irritated by him. Their personalities did not correlate.
“And you? What are you doing?” he asked. Like he meant something else. You watched his curious face, the sweetness filling your mouth so much the gums started hurting. You needed water.
“I’m just here, man. Chilling”.
He nodded to his own thoughts.
“Hm”.
You turned back to the Salvatores simultaneously.
“You wanna go on a date?” Kai asked.
You haven’t been on a date in years. You were not the type to go dating.
“Stop this freaking wind, will you”, you shuddered yet again, instead of the answer. Kai got to the ground immediately.
Tumblr media
You drove up to the corner and walked a little to the Grill doors. Malachai was standing there, waiting, like he was the Italian lover boy at the times when families of two children were willing to start war over dignity, and he was serenading to somebody. He didn’t say anything, just smiled at you; his gaze said things instead of him. Putting his arm above your head, he opened the door, and you entered the bar.
“The other way”, he took you by the forearm and then his fingers slid down to your wrist. Somehow, you got goose bumps on your skin at his touch; it was irrational. As the music filled the space, crappy, hipster Mystic Falls music, he led you to one of the tables closer to tha bar counter. You were trying to decipher the glint in his eyes, almost haunting, when you realized you‘re staring at each other.
“What?” you grinned even, uneasy, as your head cocked, and you caught yourself blushing on the inside. Get your act together. He’s not even that handsome. Well, maybe, okay, he is very handsome, but he’s one of those, so, don’t get your hopes up. You recalled how you two mocked the working Salvatores together, eating the chewing candy and cursing the dead. Nothing like doing nothing, bullying busy grumpy people. The conversation started itself.
“The music here is awful”.
“You’re very pretty”, he said shyly. “Maybe even too pretty”. He gestured towards you. There wasn’t any ogling with him, he was sincerely charming. He must be dangerous.
“The whole face and the... hair thing. Do you ever have problems because you’re pretty?”
The waiter, Maureen, approached you, and you had to stop for a while. She looked at Kai obediently, without paying you any attention. You found it eerie.
“No”, you began, and then thought. Well, every ‘pretty’ girl has problems sometimes. When it comes to brushing against the majority, the bar for ‘pretty’ is very low. If you walk down the street, and somebody throws a glance at you, they manage to see you as ‘pretty’.
“Well. You know, you sound like an asshole if you say you have problems because you’re good looking”.
Kai cocked his head like a bird, question in his eyes.
“Speaking of assholes, explain again how Bonnie ended up somewhere alone?”
He sighed.
“It’s a long story”.
You shrugged.
“We’ve got the whole evening”.
“You know, I’ll tell you, she killed me, you’ll ask how, I’ll have to go back a bit and explain how the magical prison works, you’ll ask what she and Damon were doing there, I’ll have to go back and explain, you’ll ask how I ended up there, and I’ll have to give you my whole life story”.
You took the straw in between your lips.
Kai’s nostrils flared a little.
“Alright. Maybe it was my fault a little bit”.
You were just drinking, not saying anything, and Kai started crumbling down. Must be the whole face and the hair thing.
“Alright! Alright. You ever heard of the Gemini coven? Of course you didn’t”.
You shook your head. You weren’t sure if you wanted to actually listen to the whole life story of this guy. That’s exactly how Mystic Falls tricks you into being one of them. It’s just full of dramatic, twisted life stories.
“It’s a witch coven, the coolest one, well, it used to be. Now almost all of them are dead, and soon, I will be the only one left”.
“Because you’ll kill them all?” you asked innocently.
“Yeah”.
“Yeah, of course. Why am I asking. Stupid”.
“I was born without magic. We have this thing, in the coven, the twins have to duel when they turn twenty one. The one with stronger magic wins and lives and absorbs the other’s life force and powers. But I was born without magic, so”, he tilted his head left and right, as if saying, well, you guess how it goes.
“Big disappointment. My mom used to lock me up in the basement for days not to embarrass guests”.
“What?!”
“Yeah. And this thing... I can absorb magic, because I’m a siphoner. It’s like... if I feel magic somewhere, I can take it. Then use it. Then I need more”.
“So, that’s why you were crawling on the ground there”.
“Yeah”, Kai nodded, “and the oldest bodies of those witches have the most magic, so, I now have enough strength to go back and bring your precious Bonnie home”.
“So, your folks gave you hard time then?”
He got distracted by your nails clicking on the glass. He was like a cat, his eyes clutched the sound, the flickering lights of the evening Grill dancing in the dark of his eyeballs.
“Do you sharpen them on purpose?”
“Of course”, you muttered, “that makes people want to touch me less”.
An uneven breath left his lips. You realized you found him endearing. What a cute, chaotic creature, dressed like a Soft Boy, but with a dark scheme on the back of his mind, eyes darting from here to there, and the tongue completely detached from brain. No wonder Mystic Falls couldn’t handle him.
“Scratch my hand”, he asked, putting his palm on the table. Amusement curled your lips.
You put your palm on his and tickled.
“Were you a twin?” you asked.
“Yeah, yeah, I was. My sister is still alive, but you know, if the merge ended up happening, she’d be dead. Because even without my own magic, I’m stronger than her. She’s all... spells from the books, rules of conjuring, flower growing magic. I’m a natural. Which is ironic”, a sad chuckle clouded his voice for a second. “My dad used to tell me he wished I was never born at all, even if it meant they missed an opportunity to have a set of twins for the merge”.
You eyed him carefully. He talked sad, but looked entertained. He was turning and pulling his hand under your tickling, like a child.
“You’re a big boy now”, you heard yourself, “you know how them fanatics are, right?”
“Hmm?”
“Just because it’s their fucked up world doesn’t mean you were a mistake”.
Kai nodded.
“I killed half of them anyway. My sisters and brothers, and my mom”.
You stopped tickling for a second.
“Uh, you killed your siblings and your mom?”
He was taking a sip and nodded.
“Mm-hm, yeah. I hanged my little brother from the banisters on the staircase. Have you ever killed somebody?”
An uneven chain of thoughts raced through your mind. Any other place, you would’ve freaked out. Here, it’s kind of fine. Everybody’s like that. Kai was a bit extreme, of course. Him confessing killing his child siblings on your date was a bit of a thrill pill. It’s not like he smothered Caroline with a pillow. Or pushed Elena’s car from the bridge. Of pinned Damon to the wall of his own living room. Or turned a sixteen year old schoolgirl into a raging vampire right in time for Halloween.
“You look like you killed somebody”, he whispered conspirationally. You turned his hand and scratched a bit harder. He didn’t notice.
“Is it your witch observation, or a pickup line?”
Kai grinned.
“I’ve told you everything. You tell me why you’re coming back every year”.
“Who told you I do?”
“Damon”.
You rolled your eyes.
“Just to visit”.
He narrowed his eyes.
“That is a lie. You’re lying to me. You hate this place. You don’t come here for a full week out of your own will to visit people you don’t even like”.
“It’s not that I don’t like them, I just...”
“Can’t stand them”.
“Their shenanigans. How long have you been here?”
“Since spring”.
“Have you noticed”, you even leaned over the table a little bit, and his fingers wrapped around your palm with determination. His hand was warm and dexterous. “That they’re in deep shit every week? These people don’t chill. It’s one cosmic threat after another, and most of the time, it’s Damon’s fault”.
“Yes”, Kai said gravely. “Yes. And it’s always about romance. Everybody is in love with everybody”.
You started laughing with relief you didn’t know the source of.
You were tickling his palm gently as you spoke, and didn’t even notice. Suddenly, Kai nearly jumped.
“Wait, you said, awful music?”
“Of course”.
“Give me your phone”.
You didn’t reply, looking at him.
“Come on. You wanna dance or not? I’ll go talk to the DJ”.
“Talk to the DJ?”
“Yeah. I’ll bring it back to you”.
Kai didn’t. A minute after he left with your phone, the mood changed. Even the lights went darker. You finished your drink and then recognized your own playlist coming in on the speakers. When he returned, pulling you into the crowd of people gathering to dance, you looked around at the couples. Malachai, the guy who grew up being locked in the basement by his mother and hearing that he was a mistake of nature, turned out to be an okay dancer, in fact. Perhaps he was just fucking around when he sang in the karaoke. He pulled you up to him and couldn’t stop himself from touching your arms as if tapping you for magic you might have been hiding. His hands explored the lean lines of your waist as you moved, and it didn’t feel forced. Going on a date with someone you barely know, you usually expect all kinds of awkward collisions, but this here was light-hearted, sincere, like neither of you cared enough, connected with your shared displeasure with this town. Neither of you really wanted to be here; Kai said he was waiting for something connected with the merge in September, because, after all the years he spent in the prison, he thought he had another shot at merging with his sister. Apparently, they’re all stoked to duel and kill their twin or die, well, let them. The less mental cases.
Not wanting to be here made you pull close to each other as if you were a proud unit, judging people around silently. People, weirdly, didn’t seem to mind to dance to Lana Del Rey the whole evening, then switching suddenly to relatively unknown soft hip-hop. They just moved, drunk on the evening, consumed by the calm twilight of the place, and you danced, too, with Kai’s hands sliding up and down your shoulders, soothing you like a snake charmer.
Suddenly, he leaned into a kiss and you didn’t pull away. You collided like waves, gentle at first, then, hungry, and wild attraction made your head switch off. His one hand laid on the back of your neck and the other, secured the low of your back, like he was a completely normal guy on a completely normal date, having completely normal heat coming up to his throat. Maybe he was, at the moment. You found it hard to break the kiss, feeling how strangely comfortable it was, like you knew each other forever. Shared spite does miracles to people’s minds.
You drank a little bit too much, perhaps, so your head started spinning, and you were forced to open you eyes. You looked around, still in his arms, and everybody - and that means everybody - in the bar was watching you, not dancing anymore. The music was still on, but people froze completely, mesmerized, and stared at you without any expression.
“What are they looking at?” you whispered.
“They’ll remember witnessing something beautiful, but won’t know exactly what”, Kai said nonchalantly. You shot him a glance.
“What?”
“I compelled them all”, he brushed them away with his hand, “it’s a private party”.
“That’s abuse...” you thought out loud.
“You think I’m evil?” Kai asked. Somehow it didn’t sound connected to your notion.
“Nah”.
Perhaps you should’ve given it more thought. You didn’t even see how impressed he was by the easiness with which you shook your head.
“Just bitter”.
He looked around, and people moved again, like nothing happened.
You couldn’t stop kissing each other even after you left and walked down the street away from the bar.
“You wanna go see a special place?” he mumbled into your face, his breath warm and sweet. “Your heels will disagree with it though, we’ll have to take ‘em off”.
There was almost lust in his voice.
‘Special place’ turned out to be the watching tower behind the school. Mystic Falls was such a small, pathetic place that it only had one sport court, one square and one park. The watching tower was called that because, when you were all fifteen, the bravest kids used to climb up the platform to watch the Founders Day fireworks. It was a steel construction resembling the tower for the musical engineer at a gig. Nobody ever figured out what it was initially for. Maybe Damon and Stefan should’ve dropped their whole vampire wars and first ivestigated that.
Kai was right though: the narrow ladder was made of iron and you had to take off your shoes. The platform itself stood about twelve feet up and was big enough for five people. You laid shoulder to shoulder, and only then you finally realized. It was the night for Perseids.
Brilliant white comets were shooting through the skies. Kai put his hand under the back of his head. You thought of how once you were watching shooting stars with your father back when you were a child; one of the stars fell somewhere behind hills and he said that it exploded. He convinced you he’s seen the afterglow of the explosion, and with time, you have convinced yourself you’ve seen it, too. Bright, short, white flash of misty light, like a flickering halo above the mountain. This memory was completely fake. Just like his belief that the red stars are the youngest. Father knew jack shit about space.
“You ever compare yourself with the size of universe?” you asked. You were afraid to sound too romantic, or stupid, but you were drunk enough.
“Yeah. I like stars”.
“Do you feel small or big?”
“Small”, Kai replied obediently.
“Does it make you feel lonely, or is it a liberating feeling?”
“Lonely”.
“Does it make you wanna die or live forever?”
“I’m planning to live forever”, he said with convitction. You turned your head and discovered he’s been looking at you.
“Aren’t you mortified of the future?”
“I’m just very tired of dying”.
Your brows gathered together. You reached for his cheek and touched it with your fingers to make sure he was flesh and blood.
“You can’t die in prison world”, he explained.
“Oh. Are you alive right now?”
Now, Malachai was a little surprised.
“I think so”, he chuckled. “Hey, you. I’ve been spilling the tea all night and then you distracted me with kissing, and now I’m realizing you said nothing yourself”.
You wondered what Kai has done to deserve the title of Little Shit. You imagined he somehow incorporated you into his plan since he was so nice to you. He looked like he was geniunely interested.
“Nothing to tell. I don’t want to”.
“That’s not fair”.
You shut him up with a kiss.
Tumblr media
As he let go of her hand, seeing the yellow light from the window, he has already decided everything. The door let the wave of bright flood him, and, before it closed behind her back, he turned invisible and hopped inside.
The house stood empty, with the light on in the kitchen. He didn’t know if she seemed like somebody who’s afraid of darkness, but it was strange. Kai let her go upstairs alone and cruised a little around the kitchen and the living room; her house, like her, felt mysterious and so familiar. When Kai finally made it upstairs to her room, she was taking a shower. Malachai touched every little thing that laid around: he put his palm to the wall, fidgeted with the jewelry she left on the bedside table; sat on her bed, opened and closed the curtains and left the outline of his hand on the window. He touched the handles of the wardrobe and brushed lightly over the dress she’s just been wearing, that she threw onto a chair.
When the girl came back, he expected her to cry again. Because of their date, she skipped her running session and didn’t go to the football field. As she stood at the mirror, Kai came up so close to her, he even wondered how she didn’t feel the tip of his nose barely touching her wet hair. She threw the towel on the floor, and Kai looked in the mirror. He couldn’t see himself, but he knew he was there. He wondered what they would’ve looked like together.
Then she froze and turned her head as if hearing something. Kai managed to step away as she rushed to the chair for clothes. She put on sweatpants and a shirt, and went downstairs. Kai was sure he didn’t hear anything.
Curious to no end, he followed, down to the living room, and then the kitched, the light turned on virtually everywhere in the house like she was terrified of shadows.
“No, I just came back”, she said, to nobody. Kai walked in front of her and stood in the middle of the kitchen. She looked over his shoulder. Then sat at the table.
“Fine, when did you come back?”
Pause.
“I thought you said you didn’t leave the house nowadays”.
She was talking to the empty room, a bit sad, not like when she was with him.
Wow, she is nuts, Malachai thought. Then he thought hard and repeated, to himself,
she is absolutely insane!

This Isn’t You : The Vampire Diaries Imagine {Part 4}
description: imagine you turned off your humanity switch and are now on the road with katherine pierce. feat damon and stefan salvatore.
Tumblr media
“You sure about this?”
You and Katherine stood in the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans, which you had suggested as the next stop for the blood binge the pair of you were currently on. Ever since you’d made your escape from Damon and Stefan, you knew being as far away from them as possible was wise. New Orleans seemed like the best option, for you at least. Katherine Pierce was another story.
“Oh please,” Katherine scoffed as she eyed the place greedily. “Klaus and I have a truce now. He wouldn’t hurt me.”
You hummed in response. A certain Hybrid was partly the reason you’d wanted to come here, him being the best ‘tourist-blood drinking buddy’ you knew. Him and his clan often feasted on unsuspecting humans who visited the city, and the thought of that made your mouth water with hunger.
“He makes one hell of a riot when it comes to feeding on tourists,” You shrug “I actually wanna have fun with our food.”
“Oh yeah,” Katherine smiles at the thought “Like when we play little games with them.”
“Exactly,” You laugh. “Plus, Klaus knows this place better than all of us, he could be our tour guide!”
The pair of your make your way further into the Quarter, trying to get familiar with the new surroundings before you planned on wreaking havoc when night fell.
“It’s nothing special,” You groaned when you took in the ancient quarter. “I wonder why vampires like it here so much.”
“Tourists, Cupcake.” Katherine hummed in response. “They just love snacking on temporary residents whenever they please.”
“I cannot say that isn’t true, Katerina.”
You knew that accented voice all too well when it came from behind the both of you, a wide grin appearing on your face when you turned around.
Klaus Mikaelson was leaning elegantly against the far wall as he looked at you with amusement. He was smeared with blood, his mouth evident with the substance. This was why you were quite fond of him. He just didn’t give a damn.
“Well if it isn’t the Hybrid King i’ve missed so much.” Klaus looked quite pleased at the sight of you. The pair of you went on multiple blood-binges when you freshly turned off your humanity.
“Y/N,” He lightly responded with a smile. “It’s nice to see you are still embracing you vampiric abilities to the fullest.”
“We had a few hiccups along the way but i managed to escape, obviously” You say proudly, referencing to the Salvatore brothers ridiculous attempts to make you turn it back on. Katherine shuffled uncomfortably at your side, still antsy about being within sniffing distance of the Hybrid.
“I didn’t expect anything less” He smirked, looking over at the doppelgänger with narrowed eyes. “I cannot say the same for you Katerina, albeit it nice to see your still terrified of me.”
Katherine didn’t say anything, but went closer to you. If there was one thing she was terrified of, it was him. Other than that, the Petrova was ruthless. Klaus chuckled humourlessly, wiping away the fresh blood from his mouth.
“Mind telling me why you’re soaked in blood?” You question, knowing all too well what the answer was when he smirked ruthlessly.
“Let’s just say my enemies have not yet figured out that i am undefeated, so i met them with their ends,”
You were excited, mainly because a blood-thirsty Klaus is a riot.
“So were you planning on joining us on another famous blood-binge? We had fun on the last one, remember?” You ask hopefully. You knew he wouldn’t turn you down, and your hopes were lifted when Klaus responded with blood red eyes.
“Where do we start?”
—————
“She’s in New Orleans.”
Stefan Salvatore was worried off as all hell with the information that was given. Damon, on the other hand, was quite frankly pissed off.
“What the hell do you mean she’s in New Orleans?” Damon slammed his and on the table in anger. “What could she possibly do there?”
Bonnie Bennett gave him a disapproving look as she blew out her candles. The brothers had come to her as soon as you’d made your escape, making her do a tracking spell. It led her to your precise location, and the sight wasn’t pretty.
“I have no idea, Damon” Bonnie sighed. “It says she’s there according to the spell-”
“She went there because she wants to feed without the worry of being caught.” Stefan cut her off as the reasoning came to him. “What better place to go when the Hybrid you’re friends with lives there?”
“Are you kidding me?” Damon groaned. “How do you think we’re gonna fight off both Katherine and an immortal Hybrid?”
“I don’t know,” Stefan responded darkly. “But what i do know, is that we need to get to New Orleans immediately before something happens.”
“Like Y/N going on a killing spree with Klaus and Katherine?” The older Salvatore responds sarcastically.
“I have an idea. It involves Matt Donovan.”
—————
You loved the feeling of it.
The thrill of the hunt had always made you feel complete, like this was the feeling you’d been searching for your entire life. Klaus knew that a vampire free of all trials and tribulations was at it’s height, and that was you in this moment. On a high.
Your greedy eyes scanned the bar, endless options available for you to choose from. It was disorienting, for human’s at least, the rock music blaring from the speakers loudly as your potential victims danced the night away without a care in the world. It was perfect, you were free to kill in plain sight.
“Have your pick, love” Klaus hummed beside you, just as hungry as you were. “The choice is rather endless.”
You downed a shot of alcohol, grinning at his deviance. You immediately went out on the floor, taking off your jacket as you joined in on the drunken dancing that you were surrounded with. The alcohol you’d consumed started to kick, enhancing your enjoyment.
Katherine was hungry as well, but didn’t risk being a care-free as you when her enemy was present. You dragged her along with you.
“C’mon, have some fun Kathy!” You drunkenly smiled. “It’s what we came here for anyways.”
“If I wasn’t starving then maybe i would,” She whined in response. Katherine was just in a bad mood because of Klaus, who looked at the pair of you intriguingly, obviously waiting for you to pick the dinner choices for tonight.
“Pick,” You urge her on, trying to lighten the mood. “I think it’s only fair that you pick our dinner for tonight.”
The doppelgänger’s expression lifted a little at that, scanning the floor ravenously. You followed her gaze, until she inevitably stopped at a group of drunken tourists hanging out by the bar. You smile.
“What about him?,” Katherine’s fangs start to slowly protrude. “Hmm, or her. She looks delicious.”
“How about all of them?” You grin wickedly, feeling your eyes going a dark red with thirst. The doppelgänger only smirked in response, flashing away to the group immediately. You swiftly follow suit.
Katherine grabbed the first person she layed eyes on, a short girl with an awful pixie cut. “You will not scream,” She compelled, grabbing the girl tight. “This is kinda gonna hurt like a bitch.”
With that, the doppelgänger sunk her fangs in the flesh she so desperately craved, leaving the other side of the neck vacant for you. The pair of you were going to kill the girl, and you didn’t care.
You swiftly did the same to the poor girl’s carotid artery, sinking the razors you harboured ravenously in the flesh. Blood immediately started to flow in your mouth, tasting like the purest form of ecstasy. You drank it greedily, wanting more of that feeling as it went down your throat.
The pair of you soon were close to sucking your victim dry, when Klaus interjected, softly pulling you away. You groan at the loss of contact.
“Weren’t you going to save some for me, love?” He chuckles darkly. Katherine retracts her fangs immediately, gazing at the girl with hungry eyes. She looked half-dead when you the pair of you were done with her, skin almost paper white due to the blood loss. She was alive, however, but not for long.
Klaus drags the victim towards him, aligning his razor sharp teeth to the bloody neck caused by yours. He plunges his fangs in mercilessly, obviously starving. The Original had little regard for human life, especially when he was in a state such as this. You stare at them without remorse as Klaus drained the body, dropping it when it was of no use.
“You were right,” You grin, wiping the blood from your mouth. “Tourists are delicious.”
—————
“I thought we would be done with this shit in New York.”
The brothers stood outside yet another bar, similarly to the situation they’d been put in before. Damon, quite frankly, was over it.
“We underestimated her,” Stefan said darkly as he eyed the place. “I had Bonnie make concentrated vervain. We just need to get her away from Klaus.”
“Let’s get this over with” Damon groaned. “I’ve had my fill of no humanity Y/N.”
The pair enter the loud bar with that, eyeing the place warily. All they could see were drunken tourists, a perfect setting for a vampire running on blood.
“Oh, she’s here all right.” Damon spoke over the music. “Look at this place.”
“Let’s just find her and sort this out,” Stefan grumbled as he began making his way into the bar. Even he had to hold his breath, the blood tempting him more than usual. Damon promptly followed suit.
Meanwhile, you were backed into a corner away from prying eyes, sucking another soon to be corpse dry as Klaus did the same. Katherine kept her distance, opting to go to the further side of the bar to soothe her appetite, but not before her supernatural hearing picked up two very distinct voices.
“Damn it Y/N, where are you?”
“She couldn’t be much farther away, Damon. Just keep looking”
Katherine groaned, knowing exactly who’d managed to find them for the second time. “Two times a charm” She grumbled to herself, letting go of her half-dead victim. How was it that the Salvatore brother’s couldn’t take a damn hint?
She trudged through the crowds, following their voices until she inevitably saw the pair standing in the middle of the crowd. She swiftly made her way to the brothers.
“You two are pathetic,”
Damon and Stefan immediately turned around, groaning with the sight of the Petrova. They didn’t want, or need, trouble from her.
“Katherine,” Damon smirked. “Well this is a sight for sore eyes. Did your back heal okay?”
“I think the pair of you are incapable of taking a hint,” Katherine hissed in response. Stefan chuckled humourlessly.
“Where the hell is Y/N?” He questioned angrily, but the doppelgänger seemed unfazed as she started making her way way back.
“Having a glorious time sucking tourists dry,”
“Damn it Katherine-”
“I have to say i’m surprised that you found us all the way over here”
The brothers whipped around immediately, and there you were. Fresh blood coated half your face as you licked your fingers clean. They were mortified.
“Y/N,” Damon breathed out at the sight of you. Stefan only stared at you with wide eyes, shocked.
“I don’t know what you think is gonna happen,” You began saying with a bored expression “But i’m not going with you, i think i made that pretty clear at the start.”
“Y/N, just come home” Stefan pleaded “We all need you back the way you were.”
You rolled you eyes at this, not wanting to go back home and sure as hell not needing to. Katherine looked as bored as ever with the scene, knowing damn well you weren’t about to leave with the pair, like this anyway.
“I want to be here, Stef” You respond nonchalantly. “If you have a problem with that, then i suggest you leave.”
Stefan looked hurt, trying to keep his composure at your words knowing that it was just the humanity switch talking. Damon, however, was done with your shit.
“Listen here,” He angrily demanded. “You can either come with us or I could make you, and trust me Y/N, the latter wont be pretty.”
“I would personally like to see you try” You chuckle humourlessly. “There’s an immortal Hybrid just waiting to sink his teeth in you, considering you did try to kill him once.”
Klaus stood at the far end of the bar, still busy feeding to listen to the conversation. Katherine scoffed, shaking her head at the brothers poor attempts at getting you home.
“I see how it is,” Damon spoke gravely motioning Stefan with a nod of his head. The younger Salvatore looked distressed, knowing perfectly well what had to be done.
“You can come out now,” Damon suddenly called out. You were unfazed, until a certain someone did the thing Damon told them to do. To Come out.
Matt Donovan appeared as if out of nowhere, barely standing on his feet with a bloody neck. You furrowed your brows at the sight of one of your best friends, Matt showing up the last thing you’d expected.
“Really?” You humourlessly chuckle, knowing perfectly well what his intent was. “You seriously think-”
“Shut up,” Damon angrily interjects. “I’m done playing nice.”
Katherine hurriedly tried to intervene, but you stopped her with your hand. She looked at you incredulously, but you didn’t care. All you wanted right now was to be rid of Damon.
“You think we can’t punish you,” Damon continued, pushing Matt down so he was helplessly on his knees. “But I can sure punish him.”
Matt looked at you helplessly, croaking out your name as he was on the brink of death.
“I will kill him right here in front of you.” The Salvatore spat out. “And if i’m wrong, what difference does it make? One less buss boy.”
“Damon,” Stefan said with a cautious tone, but he didn’t give a damn.
“Don’t Damon me,” He hissed, turning to look at you again. “Turn your emotions on or so help me God, i will give you something to be sad about.”
You felt it, the rush of anxiety slowly seeping through the hard surface of your vampirism as you looked at Matt. He was barely conscious, his throat mangled by Damon to weaken him. He wouldn’t actually kill Matt, would he?
“You’re bluffing,” You say with a slightly wavering voice.
Snap.
The events that happened after were not pretty.
You gasp, the emotions you were fighting off for so long, came in rushing like a hot wave of regret and pain as you stared at the dead body of your friend. Tears flood your eyes, completely and utterly overwhelmed at the sight as you slowly sunk to your knees.
“How about now?” Damon asked warily. “You feel anything now? Are you angry I just turned your buddy into roadkill?”
You didn’t know what to say, not wanting to listen to anything as you helplessly crawl over to Matt’s body, soundless tears streaming down your face. You felt Katherine whisk away as soon as she knew, but you were too disoriented to care.
“Remember when he was little kid, his whole life ahead of him?” He provoked you further. “The guy that everybody loved is now a bag of bones.”
You were crying soundlessly, Stefan coming around you as he held you in his arms, trying to soothe your pain.
“Guess it was a good idea that he was wearing this.”
Damon held up Matt’s hand, and the Gilbert ring was on his finger. The ring that made human’s come to life when killed by a supernatural.
“Oh my god,” You finally cry out. “Oh my god, Matt.”
Relief filled you as you grabbed ahold of your friends hand, sobbing with joy and pain as humanity overwhelmed you.
“You feel that weight lifting off your chest?” He spoke softly now, knowing that he was victorious. “That’s joy.”
You look up at him wide eyed, the feeling starting to feel familiar.
“That’s humanity, Y/N.”

Ok I’m so happy someone taking requests. It’s take place season two where Bonnie and Damon hate each other but there daughter comes from the future to help them fight Klaus but no one knows she’s there daughter. Thank you 😊
Hey! So glad too! I’m always up for some Bamon so it’s come at just the right time. Ok, so I’ve definitely done as requested, but I’m really enjoying this and would love to maybe turn it multi-chaptered so if there’s demand I might add onto this story, it was soo much fun.
Anyways, @barkingbullfrog here you go! Hope you enjoy. Sadly the Bamon is not too romanc-y what with the setting though I went with later season two so they are at least reluctantly working together.
Tumblr media
Damon propped his feet up on the arm of the loveseat he found himself laying down on, an air of nonchalance mere facade to the turmoil he was feeling inside. Elena and Stefan sat opposite him, poetic really, he thought, talking about what there was to do now that uncle John decided to fuck up again. He couldn’t understand how some people could be this stupid. Why would anyone trust Isobel was beyond him, the bitch had tricked him into turning her, had tricked Elena just a few months ago, had fucked up Alaric good and proper and had been working with Katherine. He listened to Stefan try to propose they use their house as a safe-house and Elena shoot it down immediately. Figures. Was there no one around who used their brain?
There’s Bonnie, his mind helpfully supplied as he heard Elena wrack up another complaint. He answered this one, thoughts of the little witch in his head. He didn’t like having to revisit one of his greatest failures. Because he knows allowing Emily Bennett to burn could only be catalogued as nothing other than failure. And now Bonnie wanted to absorb all that power. Hence, she was definitely the intelligent one here. More power was exactly what they needed, not drama with bio-mom from hell.
“To the Lockwood luncheon.” he heard Elena finish her sentence, followed closely by his brother’s knight in armour agreement.
“Not me, I’ve witch stuff to attend to with Bonnie” he quipped, watching Elena’s warm gaze shifting to him again. He also paid enough attention to Katherine lurking about just then. He knew she’d been listening to the whole conversation, she wasn’t subtle about it, which only served to annoy and baffle him. Why wasn’t Mistress of Bitchdom pretending to hide anymore? Oh well, question for another day perhaps, bigger fish to fry.
“Does that mean you’re taking her to the -” he shushed Elena before she could give them away, a stray thought of Bonnie would’ve known not to say anything worming its way into his mind, and he almost scoffed at himself. Since when was the witch at the front of his thoughts? But before he could dwell on that particular annoyance, Katherine saunters her way over and he hears footsteps outside in the walkway. He’s about to answer the she-demon when the front door’s lock turns and the door swings open suddenly. He’s up on his feet and with his hand around the uninvited visitor’s neck before Stefan even has the chance to get up and plant himself in front of Elena. Katherine of course does nothing, simply turns to stare at him and the young woman he’s holding against the wall, a mild shock flitting over her features almost too quick to see. He doesn’t get more than a few seconds before he finds himself doubled over in sudden pain, clutching his head as stars burst behind his eyelids. He almost thinks he’s misstepped and Bonnie herself was standing there, the wave of magic bringing him to his knees and the smell of blood so very similar to hers. Bennett blood for sure.
“Ack!” He cries out and waits for the ringing in his ears to subside, then he casts a customary glance around at his brother and his ex, surprised to see Katherine herself on her knees, still in apparently a lot of pain. Whoever the Bennett witch that just stepped inside their house like she owned it was, she didn’t stop until Katherine was unconscious on the ground.
“Sorry for the aggression, but I don’t respond to threats well and I really don’t like her.” a soft, but confident voice has Damon turning back to inspect the newcomer. She’s petite, in all senses of the word with her barely up to his shoulders height and lithe physique, but her own shoulders are squared and there’s an air of knowing all around her. He almost sees the Bennett witch they’re all too familiar with in her stead again. It’s disconcerting to say the least, especially with the very bright, and very blue, eyes staring at him with a small smirk. She’s cocky too, he realizes, and she’s certainly powerful enough to back it up if Katherine’s unconscious form on the ground like a sack of potatoes is anything to go by.
“And who exactly are you?” he readies himself for another aneurysm as he speaks, but to his surprise, her whole demeanor shifts suddenly upon looking back at him, if he didn’t know better he’d say she’s just… seen her favourite person. But it snaps back in place so quick he blinks to make sure he didn’t imagine it all.
“I’m Sheila-Rose Bennett.” She begins and he nods slowly, he’d already figured she’d be a Bennett, but how was it possible he didn’t know of her he couldn’t explain, it was strange. He might’ve not known how Lucy looked like when she showed up at the Masquerade a few weeks back, but he had remembered her father and her being born. He happened to have been near the hospital at the time, like he tried to be whenever a new Bennett was born. Hell, he still remembered Rudy, Bonnie’s dad, pacing in the small hospital hallway with Sheila there telling him to sit down and not wear the floor out when Abby was giving birth. He made good on his promises he thought, unlike Emily. “I’m here to help you with Klaus.” she continued.
He straightened out, pushing to his feet as soon as the words were out of her mouth. “And what exactly do you know of Klaus?” And how don’t I know you? His mind screamed at him.
“I’ve had some … experience dealing with him” there was a smile on her lips, wry, as though laughing at an inside joke that only she was in on. The witch was odd.
“Ok, Sheila-Rose-” he began, but was cut off just as fast.
“It’s just Rose, only mom calls me Sheila-Rose, and that’s usually when I’m in trouble.” another one of those wry smiles. It was slowly making him lose his mind. There was something so very familiar to her that was frustrating him beyond reason.
“Sure, whatever. What can you tell us about Klaus?” He noted that Elena was shifting her weight from on foot to the other, impatient, when he remembered she needed to go. “Brother, why don’t you and Elena get to that luncheon, I’ve got Baby Blues here covered. Plus our very own Wicked Witch of the East is bound to show up in, oh, five minutes or so? I’ve got this.” Stefan and he shared a quick look and then baby brother was walking past him and the new Bennett, briefly breaking their staring contest, to pick up his coat and then he and Elena were out the door and driving away. Damon turned and poured himself some bourbon, taking a sip and letting it sooth the nagging pounding that always remained behind after that particular witch’s spell. The witch came fully inside the house now, bypassing Katherine’s body and laying herself in the same loveseat he’d previously occupied, swinging her legs up and over the arm of it, and lacing her fingers around her knees to keep herself upright, looking at him expectedly.
“Should I wait for … whoever you said was joining? Or should I just spill the beans right now?” she certainly had attitude, he thought, matching his tone to a T and he wasn’t sure whether he was impressed or annoyed by it.
“How do I not know you?” he couldn’t let that question go, and he also didn’t want Bonnie to know just how much he cared about her bloodline. She might actually burn him again if she did, he had a feeling.
“You don’t know every one of us, we scattered too much to keep track, so let’s not poke through generations. I’m here for something else, not the past.” she smiled again, that same damn smile that was slowly making his skin itch. There was something there, she knew something she was hiding, something that was about him or regarded him at least. It was driving him insane, and still she wasn’t saying anything.
“Fine, keep your secrets. How old are you anyways, Witch-y?”
“I just turned 19. Why does it matter?” defensive. Fun! He can poke at that.
“Kinda on the young side to be dealing with Big Bad Klaus, aren’t you?” he began and saw her wince. Double fun, he could really dig here. “How come mommy and daddy let you come here? Or do they not know?” he saw her shift in her seat and knew he’d hit the nail on the head. “Oh, so they don’t know then?”
“Not any of your business old man. I’m here and I’ve got info you guys will want, trust me on that.”
“Old man? One, don’t nickname, two, so you’ve said but I’m not convinced. See, if you’re 19 then how come you know anything about Klaus?”
“I know about him from my parents, they’ve fought him before. But haven’t been able to stop him. But they didn’t have the knowledge they do now, I have that and then some and I have you trying to fight him. I can help, that I promise.” She certainly was convincing, but Damon hadn’t survived so long and gone through the shit he had to just believe any nutso that strolled into his house. Just as he was about to answer her, Bonnie burst through the front door, Jeremy a few steps behind her, a flurry of righteous annoyance around her. He barely listened to her begin to berate him being late when he saw her gaze turning to their guest.
Speaking of, the littlest witch suddenly swung her feet back to the floor, sitting up properly and a grin growing on her lips as she stood up, hand outstretched and introduced herself as though to her celebrity crush. God, why was everyone coo-coo in this town?
“Sheila-Rose Bennett! Very nice to meet you, know a lot about you, Bonnie.” She rushed through suddenly. To say that Bonnie was overwhelmed was an understatement. So he did the nice thing for once and patted the place next to him on the couch for Bonnie to take a seat. She did so in shock and even took a sip of his bourbon when he extended it to her, only to chock and sputter once the taste hit her. Small mercies seemed to exist after all, he figured when she didn’t do so much as glare at him, though with how she kept staring at the other Bennett he figured it had less to do with him and more to do with her.
“Now now, Rosie-Posie, let’s not overload Bon-bon here.” He was smirking as he spoke, looking from Bonnie to the newcomer when confusion hit him again at the genuine shock and delight on her face seemingly at his words. He was dying to know what could he have possibly said to warrant that look, but before he could, the woman began speaking in earnest. She hadn’t been lying, he realised quickly. She definitely had information they needed and power they could use, if Katherine’s still unconscious form on the ground was anything to go by.
Quick note, my head-canons about this are that:
- Sheila-Rose went behind her parents backs cuz she just wanted to help since she’s heard all about how Klaus hurt them, though she and Hope happen to get along pretty well and even Klaus and Bonnie and Damon are alright now.
- Her dad calls her Rosie Posie.
- While I see her as a daddy’s girl, she adores her mom with everything in her, like aspired to be her
- The wry smile is her thinking about the future and amusing herself with the references. like the “dealt with klaus” thing or the “not here for the past” being very ironic to say the least.

‘Bonnie! I’m here, what was so urgent that I had to rush right over?’ I said, letting herself into the Bennett residence with ease seeing as they only locked the door when they were sleeping.
 ‘In here!’ Bonnie yelled back.
I wondered why she needed me in her bedroom but didn’t question it and headed in that direction. I pushed open the door and cocked my brow in question, not really surprised by what I was seeing in front of me—Bonnie was sat in the centre of her bed surrounded by open grimoire’s and looking like she’d had about two hours sleep in the past three days.
‘You look wrecked.’ I told her honestly.
‘Thanks,’ she snorted, shuffling off her bed and walking to stand by a small circular table I hadn’t noticed by the window. There was various things scattered on the hardwood; salt, water, soil, what looked like an empty jar and a ring that looked vaguely familiar. I went to touch it but Bonnie slapped my hand away.
‘Ouch, okay I get it, no touching. What’s going on?’ I asked, shrugging off my leather jacket and hanging it off the back of her desk chair.
‘I know how to fix everything, to make it so that Klaus never comes into our lives.’ Bonnie told me, her expression lighting up with relief as well as exhaustion.
‘Well I’m all ears.’ I said dryly, crossing my arms over my chest and waiting for an explanation.
‘I found a spell that can take one of us back in time to way before Klaus was here.’ She said as if that was enough of an explanation.
‘Okay…’ I drawled, frowning in confusion, ‘gonna need more than that, Bon.’
‘Right, sorry. So, if we can go back to a time when he wasn’t a hybrid, he’ll be easier to subdue. We can dagger him and stash him somewhere that he won’t be found.’
‘But the daggers don’t work on Klaus.’ I felt idiotic saying that, because I was sure she had already realised that.
‘This one will.’ She grinned, holding up a golden dagger, that looked exactly like the one Elijah had been subdued with, the only difference was the metal.
‘How did you get this?’ I gasped, taking it from her and admiring it in amazement.
‘My cousin, Emma, called after she heard what happened with Klaus and told me about the stories she heard of one of Klaus’ enemies trying to use a coven in New Orleans to construct a dagger that could work on him. Rumour is that it was never finished, but I went to see them last week when I was there with my dad. When I explained what I planned to do with it, they were more than happy to help.’ She grinned and I couldn’t help but smile too, my happiness mirroring hers.
‘Wait, if we have it now, why do we need to go back in time to use it on him?’
‘Because if we dagger him now, it won’t undo everything else he has already done.’ Bonnie explained, ‘If you go back in time and do it, Jenna and John would still be alive, he would never have come here to break the curse—‘ she broke off when I held my hand up, conceiting she had a point.
‘Okay, I get it. But when are we going back to?’ I asked her, still playing with the dagger in my hand, I paused when she didn’t immediately answer me and frowned at the guilt on her face.
 ‘What?’
‘Well… that’s the thing; it would have to be just you. I’m only strong enough to send one person, I can’t go because I’m the one who has to cast the spell, Elena can’t because he’ll recognise her and Caroline… she’s on vacation until we go back to school with her dad.’ She said sheepishly.
I sat down at her desk, processing the information for a moment. Could I do it by myself? I would still be a vampire, but unless I went back as far to when he was just created, I wouldn’t stand a chance against his strength. There would need to be at least two, one to distract and try to hold down while the other daggered.
‘Bonnie, I don’t know if—,’ I started to deny the chance but she interrupted me.
‘I know you’re worried, but you don’t need to be stronger, you just need to catch him by surprise.’ She assured me, her hands holding my free one, ‘it’s the only way, Ev.’
I sighed, knowing she was right—if this was our one shot at bringing back our loved ones and bringing back Stefan, she had to do it. For John, Jenna, Stefan, and Elena… for everyone affected by the grief he had inflicted. I felt my eyes harden in determination.
‘How does it work? Do you know exactly what time you’re sending me to? How do I get back? Will time move here at the same rate it does there?’ I couldn’t help the questions tumbling out of my mouth.
‘I’ll cast the spell and spill your blood over this,’ she held up the ring I’d noticed earlier, ‘Katherine got wind of my subdue Klaus mission and said she wanted in. I told her I needed something of Klaus’ from before she was a vampire. Apparently this was his, she stole it from him before she knew about the ritual when Klaus’ interest in her seemed to wane—she was planning to sell it. So, you’ll be sent back to 1492, if it’s before the ritual you need to do it after Katherine runs, or she won’t go on to turn Damon and Stefan.’ Her voice was grave as she explained this to me, ‘you’ll come back when you die, so after you’ve stashed Klaus somewhere he won’t be found...’
‘I kill myself. Got it.’ I breathed, trying not to panic.
‘I don’t know about time moving, if you change enough, you might just wake up back at home in your own bed as if it were a dream. You’ll remember what really happened, but I don’t know if I will, if whatever you change results in me never needing to do the spell in the first place.’ She shrugged a little apologetically.
‘Okay,’ I nodded, feeling determination brewing in my stomach, ‘I’ll do it.’
‘That’s great.’ Bonnie grinned, relieved, ‘well we should get started.’
I was pulled over to the table she had originally been standing by, and honestly there wasn’t that much to be prepared because she had already done it before I got there. All she did was place the ring in the centre of the small pentagram marked with salt and placed water, fire, air, soil and spirit at the five points. She read over the spell one more time before nodding, satisfied she was ready. I took a deep breath, feeling reassured by her confidence.
‘By the way, I assume we’re not telling Elena because she would inherently disapprove?’ Bonnie said, her question startling me.
‘Yes. She has enough on her plate already and besides, if I change it she has no reason to worry.’ I shrugged, ignoring the pang of guilt in my gut—I needed to keep her out of this, she was close to breaking with everything that had been going on.
Bonnie nodded in understanding, accepting my answer and trusting my judgement. I tucked the dagger into the waistband of my black skinny jeans and pulled my flowy white vest top over it. I was ready.
‘You sure about this?’ Bonnie asked and I appreciated that despite her eagerness over this, she was willing not to do it if I objected.
 ‘I’m sure.’
‘Give me your hand.’ She said and I did, ignoring the sting of pain from her slicing my palm open.
Bonnie started to chant words that I didn’t understand and when she started the second verse, her voice became louder and she held my dripping hand over the ring, allowing my blood to fall onto it. I watched in fascination as my blood completely coated the ring before flowing out, following the lines of salt that made the pentagram and encasing all of the tokens the rested at the ends of each point. When it was covered, Bonnie released my hand and offered me a nod as she continued with the spell. I didn’t notice the gold ball growing at the centre of the table until it exploded, encasing me and blinding me with light.
I groaned, briefly registering that I was no longer standing but lying down, on a very uncomfortable floor. When I sat up, blinking to get used to the sudden brightness, I realised that I was in the middle of nowhere. At least that’s what it looked like—trees and flowers surrounded me. It was truly beautiful but I didn’t get to admire it for long as I heard twigs breaking, alerting me to someone’s presence. I quickly pushed up off the forest floor, wincing a little as the lose twigs and gravel dug into my palm, releasing the blood from underneath. Before I could do more than get to my feet, there was a whoosh of air and I was face to face with just the person I was looking for.
‘Well hello, love, aren’t you a sight for soar eyes?’ Klaus smiled, his eyes shining with both hunger and curiosity as he took in my clothing.
 Shit.

You sat in the dark living room of the Salvatore boardinghouse looking at the unconscious older Salvatore brother. You twirled his daylight ring in your fingers and observed his tied up slump figure. “Wake up sleepy head.” You sang tapping his leg with your heel covered foot. You saw his eyes slowly moving then finally fluttering open. “Hello brother..” You smiled earning a groan from the older brother.  “Oh don’t worry sweetie I’m not that psyched to see you either.” You rolled your eyes and pulled a chair up in from of him taking a seat. “Now you’re going to tell me why you flipped the switch or I’m going to burn you.” You smiled sweetly at him resting your legs in his lap. “Tying me up? That’s pretty kinky of you Y/N.” Damon chuckled softly. “This isn’t a joke Damon.” You glared at him through your lashes now wearing his daylight ring. He glanced down at his hand but the smirk on his face never faltered. “You wouldn’t burn me Baby girl.” With a flick of your wrist the curtains opened and his skin started to sizzle and blister his screams filled the room. You stood up and closed the curtains before turning on your heels to face Damon your face now holding the smirk. “Now that you know that I’m serious tell me why you flipped the switch.” You now stood in front of him slightly bending over so you can be face to face with him. Nothing but silence. “Will I have to burn you again to get answers?” He managed to grab your arm and held it firmly. “Don’t test me Y/N because you and I both know if I really wanted to I could break out of these ropes you tied me so poorly in.” He spat, his face now holding anger yet his eyes still empty. It was different from when you saw him with his switch flipped. It was as if his switch broken off and someone make him hit his breaking point which made you feel bad for leaving him. Maybe you were the reason he flipped his switch maybe you made him hit his breaking point and that’s why he was being so cold towards you. You put that thought in the back of your mind and pressed your lips together before walking back over to the curtains and opening them yet again. “Attacking me earlier was stupid and now you’re threatening me? Not so smart of you Damon! Just tell me why you flipped the switch and this will all be over.” You yelled over his pained screams. “Okay!” He yelled and you closed the curtains quickly getting a bucket of water and pouring it all over him to stop the fire on his skin. “But I want you to untie me or I won’t tell you shit.” He said and you nodded putting down the bucket and walking closer to him. “Don’t try anything once I untie you Damon I know how you are.” You said as you untied him watching as the ropes dropped when you were done. “How am I exactly, Y/N?” You stood turning to him and licking your lips as did he. “Oh I don’t know the last time I had to do this you managed to get me into the bed with you.” He smirked at you “Good times.” You heard his voice get deeper and huskier and his eyes fill with lust. “Oh no you promised me an answer as to why you flipped the switch we are not doing this again.” You started to walk towards the stairs of the boardinghouse “Maybe I’ll convince you but your still telling me why you turned it-“ Before you knew it you were upstairs in Damon’s room and against his room door. “Maybe I didn’t need a reason to flip the switch, Y/N. You ever think of that? Maybe I just wanted to do it because I can.” His face was inches from your and his body trapped yours against the wooden door but you wouldn’t let him distract you. “You wouldn’t just flip the switch without a reason now would you Damon? I think I know the reason why you flipped it.” “Then what was the reason?” He questioned licking his lips yet again. “Because of me.” You spoke softly and you swore you saw a flash of sadness and anger somewhere in his eyes. “What makes you think that?” He backed off crossing his arms “I left you Damon. I left you out of nowhere with no explanation and moved all the way to New Orleans. Not only did I leave you behind but I left my family and friends behind too and I’m very sorry that I did that. Please just flip the switch back and I’ll explain why I left.” You pleaded to him even tearing up a little. “What’s In it for me?” He spoke. “An explanation.” He sighed and shook his head “That isn’t good enough.” You thought for a moment trying to figure out what would be a good offer to the man whose heart you’d broken. “Maybe we can try and make up?” You smiled up at him causing him to smile back. “Ok I’ll flip it. Expect me to be a wreck when I flip it back.” He said jokingly “Stop stalling and flip the damn switch Damon.” He stares into your eyes and flipped it back on a shaky sigh escaping his throat. “You okay D?” You asked as you softly cupped his cheeks into your hands. He replied with a nod before crashing his deliciously plump lips into yours kissing you deeply and hungrily. You kissed back tasting his salty tears as they mixed into the kiss. He picked you up wrapping your legs around his waist and placing you on his bed. You both made love all through the night and fell asleep in each other’s arms.
