Why is it everytime we ship Bonnie with someone, other mfs wanna tell us that we’re wrong???
No one shares their opinions when someone ships Klaroline, or even Steferine.
Literally, everytime someone post an edit of Bamon on tiktok, and just says they are cute together, there’s always a handful of people that says:
“I like their FRIENDSHIP.”
“I don’t ship them romantically.”
It’s almost as if no one fucking asked.

TVD opinion :
The fact that nobody could make Elena turn her humanity back on....
Not her ex, not her boyfriend, not her friend Caroline, not Bonnie, no !
It was Matt ! Matt, her ex-lover and best friend. He is no supernatural being. He's a freaking human being. He is no witch, no vampire, no werewolf, no nothing. A freaking human being.
He is the one, the only one, who was able to make her turn her humanity back on.
The moment she saw him dead right before her eyes (I mean he's not actually dead, he was wearing a special ring that would make him come back alive, but she didn't know that)....
She saw him dead, just like this. Damon had just snapped his neck. Matt was freaking dead. And in a snap of a finger, her humanity was back on. For Matt. For him. Not anyone else. Him. You see how deep the connection is there ?
I mean, you can say whatever you want about Matt. I personally really like him, but you can say whatever you want. You just gotta respect that ! At that moment, this dude was the only one able to make a vampire feel. Feel so deeply it hurts. It breaks your heart so bad you feel like you're dying yourself.
Love him. 🩷

In defense of Kol Mikaelson
Personally for me, the most unbelievable thing that ever happened in TVD, is that Elena survived Kol's death. Maybe Kol had not very nice relationships with his family, but he was their brother and they claimed to care about him.
Kol was there for Rebekah ("You need to kill some guy to take revenge on the bitch who stabbed you, and we can end up in trouble for that? I'm in." "I need to return to the town just to help you to torture people and find the Cure you wanted? Say no more, I am on my way"), he defended her from Klaus few times even after she betrayed him, what resulted in him being daggered in 1914.
Klaus clearly was in pain after Kol's death, it was written all over his face. He was trapped in the room near his little brother's dead body, he did not want Kol to die and the loss was harsh. They had really complicated relationship, but Klaus cared for him.
Elijah said that family is his first priority and, I quote, "No one hurts my family and lives. No one."
Apparently, no one hurts his family and lives, except Elena and MF gang. After Kol's death he had quite civil and polite conversation with Elena, exactly the same person who, maybe did not kill Kol herself, but at least arranged his death, participated in the kill and the whole need of killing him was for her to have the Cure she did not even needed so much. That is a little bit hypocritical, Elijah, don't you think so?
Rebekah even pitied Elena for the loss of Jeremy (what in my opinion says a lot about "good" Elena and "bad" Rebekah). Open your eyes, Bekah, she, in fact, killed your brother and Jeremy was the one whose hand ended his life.
Klaus, who seemingly was deeply affected by this tragedy, helped the gang with aramaic translation, decided to save Caroline's life (you can say Caroline did not participate in the deed, but she at least was aware of the plan, and Klaus killed for lesser) AND did not do anything to avenge Kol.
For the family like Mikaelsons, revenge upon everyone who was envolved in their brother's murder is the least they can do. But instead, they did no harm to Elena, and some of them even helped her, pitied her.
It is just unlogical. This is the most unreasonable thing in the entire series and I am so mad for that.
And I can absolutely understand Kol for his rage later on. He felt like his family did not care for him, that he was wronged and was robbed of the revenge he deserved. My darling certainly deserved so much better.
Rewatching the fourth season made me very angry so excuse me

i find it absolutely hilarious and kind of annoying how literally every character in s4 was so surprised about elena's feelings for damon but they all accused her of having feelings for him or mentioned something between them in s3 lmao I know they did it for the sirebond to make sense but still lol but it doesn't matter because it all worked out in the end and they all came around just annoyed me lmao

Fic Rec Friday
So, I'm pretty sure everyone has read this, but if you haven't you HAVETO.
It's Make Them Bow by the amazing for_darkness_shows_the_stars.
“Awww. So you’ve heard about me.” Damon grins. It shows off his fangs. “Can’t say the same about you. Mate.” “Oh, I sincerely doubt that.” Stefan chooses that moment to stand. He saunters over to the two of them and throws an arm over his friend’s shoulder. There is no mistaking the glee in his eyes. “Damon,” he says. “Might I introduce an old friend of mine? His name is Klaus.” . Klaus makes his way to Mystic Falls early, and for far less sinister reasons ... or, I drop Klaus into season one and watch the chaos unfold.
It's 224,820 words so it's a pretty long read but it is absolutely amazing.
Basically, Klaus is dropped into season 1 of tvd and Caroline promptly befriends him. It roughly follows canon and the consequent sub-plots, but in my opinion, it's mostly beautiful, pure, amazing fluff and the absolute most adorable interactions between all of the characters.
Klaus's inner monologue also has me literally crying at points because it's such a good representation of all the trauma he went through (which we all love to use as an excuse for anything bad he does 🫶). Vampires, especially old ones, presumably have more complex and thorough thought patterns and I think this is also represented really well.
I also love (and I'm not spoiling anything cos this is in the tags) how Liz adopts Klaus and is such a caring and gentle parental figure after a thousand years of Klaus viewing parents as Those Most Likely To Fuck You Up. In general, Liz's adapting to Caroline's vampirism is really well represented.
Anyway, I'm re-reading it this week, so I had to talk to someone about it. And I know I put this one on my 2023 fic list but I didn't realise that until I'd typed out this whole thing.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk ❤️

I can't help but to think how similar Bonnie and Damon loves.
Damon loves so hard to the point it backfires on him.
Bonnie loves so hard to the point where it almost (or does) kills her.
Damon waited over a hundred years for Katherine, while searching desperately for a way to get her out of the tomb. Even if he had to kill a few people along the way. Nothing mattered but Katherine. And when Katherine was never in the tomb, everything he worked so hard for and loved so hard for was for nothing. He goes down a spiral—kissing Elena, killing and drinking people, snapping Jeremy’s neck. He's doing everything but facing the reality. He loves too hard, so why should he love at all?
Then you have Bonnie.
Bonnie’s already a martyr. I’ve never seen someone so willingly to sacrifice themselves in my life. So add that into the way she loves. With Jeremy, she literally died to bring him back to life. And prior to that, she upset the witches horribly by bringing him back to life AGAIN. Which made Jeremy see his ex girlfriend ghost and we all know how that ended. Then later on we see her relationship with Damon, which is a weird one because they were both balancing on the line between platonic and romantic. That’s another topic for another time though. Anyways, when Damon desiccated himself, Bonnie crumbled. Him leaving her destroyed her emotionally.
The difference between Bonnie and Damon is how they react to their heartbreak. Damon lashes out, while Bonnie suffers in silence—which could be lashing out internally in a way.

Just to add that i do see some Mikaelsons as the rape type but ESPECIALLY Kol. The way he went after Meredith and said "never stopped me before" I really don't think he values consent at all.
Nah I definitely get it, I do understand why you see them as the rape type. They're villains, after all, and never really stopped being ones no matter how the shows tries to make them look.
But imo it's just, idk, going too low if that makes sense? Like, rape and murder are both horrible things, but I personally feel the first one is worse because you can make it out alive, and then you have the trauma that will stay with you forever. And to me, it feels like the Mikaelson wouldn't go that far??? I don't know how to explain it lmao, I feel rape would be one of their few personal bounds, despite the fact that they're clearly monsters. I mean, there are villains/antagonist that no matter how evil they are, there are few things that they just won't do.
And that's what I believe of the Mikaelson, it's one of my many personal headcanons of them. I just can't see them forcing themselves on someone, despite using compulsion 24/7 aka a sort of mind rape. There was this one scene in season 5, where there was a woman laying dead bleeding in Klaus’s bed naked after probably having sex, and I always assumed that he just killed her after having sex but never forced her, which it's disgusting in its own don't misunderstand me.
Anyway, I do understand why you or anyone else would believe they rape people. Imo, they just wouldn't do that but I get why other people think so and viceversa.

TVD opinion:
Clearly, with Kai they wasted so much potential.
Because even if you put aside Bonkai.... let's say Bonkai never happens. Yeah, breaks my heart, but let's say it doesn't happen, not really.
You remember Kai bringing up at least three times his parents calling him an abomination ? That's something that sticked to him. So much that he feels the need to bring it up constantly.
And then there's his little speech about "they say the most important thing is to like yourself. And I like me."
I mean, that's a way to state 'they all hated me, making me hate myself. But then I decided, screw them all ! I like me.' And then all the 'I'm gonna make them regret hating me in the first place. Now they're gonna hate me for something. I'm going to give them a REASON to hate me.'
And just for all of the emotional trauma, it needed more exploration.
I'm not trying to give Kai excuses about murdering his siblings. However, we've often seen main characters doing awful things and then getting an explanation about why they did those, and then pouf ! everybody was like "oh okay I forgive you'.
I'm not saying Kai should be forgiven. If we can get at least one character who takes accountability for his own actions. I gladly welcome it. But at least, explore all that happens in the Gemini Coven. He wanted to kill his siblings BECAUSE of the adults....
And the cut scene OMG !
They cut out a scene that was so GREAT....
It showed Kai being emotionally vulnerable, enraged. He wants to kill them all for what happened. Misunderstood, mistreated and then his sociopathic side snapped !
"I'd like to live, frankly. Because I didn't get to do a lot of that before everybody decided that I wasn't worth it." 😭
Long before he became a 'monster', he was already considered one. That shapes a person....
I'm not forgiving his actions. He could have decided to be better than them, not kill anyone and just abandon the coven and go on his own.
But I see where he's coming from, and I would have liked to get some of the characters interacting with him to consider that....

Elena Gilbert: Heroine or Victim?
OPINIONS NO ONE CARES ABOUT: EPISODE 2
Tumblr media
Elena Gilbert's character is argued about by many fans of the TVDU. What makes her interesting though, is the fact that she was supposed to be the leading protagonist in the series, an active character who takes decisions by herself and doesn't need anyone to stay alive. But we can see in the TVDU that Elena is primarily characterised by the notion of how much she can suffer and endure instead of how much she can act and accomplish.
Tumblr media
Elena was supposed to be the leading heroine in the series, and yes, she is. But she is more like the victim than the saviour. It is difficult for a human to survive in a world surrounded by vampires, and that affects Elena as a whole because she couldn't take any major decisions without putting the people around her at risk. But the show slowly took away all of her decision-making capabilities and in turn her glamour in general.
Tumblr media
There's no doubt that the show revolved around Elena, and it should, since she's the main character. But the way the show took place, Elena was portrayed as the one everyone rushes to save and her life is shown to be the most important priority of other people. On top of this, she has to do nothing much to earn this kind of love and protectiveness from the people around her.
All of the care and affection shown by many characters for Elena seems animated. She comes off as the naturally lovable, loving character who is of the most importance to the show and the narrative in general.
While characters like Bonnie and Caroline have to earn even the tiniest flicker of affection from other people, Elena gets it all served over a silver platter. Without her having to do anything extraordinary to earn that, which is not the case with Caroline or Bonnie.
Tumblr media
Elena, as a person, isn't bad. In fact, she's a great girl, who wants no one to get harmed. In the course of showing this nature of hers, she is written to be a perfect character. Her flaws are not noticeable throughout the show when she was a human. When she became a vampire, some of her emotions were expressed. But, she transitions from being a life-savour to a 'perfect goody two shoes' who can possibly do nothing wrong and always what the right thing is and what she's supposed to say and how she's supposed to behave.
Tumblr media
Another problem with Elena is her dynamic with the Salvatore brothers. I mean, she is indirectly compared to Katherine too many times throughout the show, which is obvious since both the ladies are doppelgangers, but what makes this uncomfortable is the fact that primarily, the Salvatore brothers are attracted to her because she literally looks like their ex.
Yes, her character is different. But in the last episode of season 1 of The Vampire Diaries, the famous dialogue between the Salvatore brothers, I don't remember who said it, I think it was Damon.
"Elena is not Katherine."
And then they see her dressed up in vintage attire and both look at her in a certain way, as if they're reminiscing about Katherine.
It's weird to know that a certain person is attracted to you because you look like their ex.
Tumblr media
Another interesting dynamic related to the Salvatore brothers is that if we observe their relationship with Katherine, we can see that at that time it was always Katherine who was in command, who was in control, she had both of them wrapped around her finger.
I wouldn't disagree with the fact that that was also toxic to a certain extent, since even when she loved both of them, she also used them. That is not okay, not at all.
But their dynamic with Elena is something that sticks poorly with many viewers since Elena can't even make decisions of her own without being poked and interrogated by Stefan and Damon. Still, with Stefan, Elena had some autonomy, but with Damon, he tried to control many things he shouldn't have. Yes, he loved her, but love is no excuse for taking away her basic choices in life.
I'd like to highlight this one scene from the second season when Damon feeds her his blood forcefully so that god forbid if she died, she would come back as a vampire. He did that without asking her if she wanted to come back a vampire, just did that because her living was more important to him than her loving herself.
Tumblr media
It doesn't matter how much you love a person, you do not have any right to take away their fundamental life choices. Yes, you can advise, suggest, and plead, but forcing someone is not acceptable.
And yet Elena kisses him in the last episode-?
Tumblr media
Elena has suffered a lot, gotta say that. She lost her parents, her aunt, her biological parents, her brother and eventually her own life. Anyone watching the show can directly see that Elena is the centrepiece for every single thing ever, and because of that she is heavily involved in every plotline, but instead of her taking charge or even being like a side character, the show focuses on how constantly she is victimised, how much she suffers, and that it portrayed as a display of strength.
Resilience is also a strength, but how is it that the main character is blackmailed and left vulnerable and helpless every time a new villain shows up?
This is not even remotely inspirational, and it also makes the plotline predictable. Whenever anything happens, the viewers can already predict that Elena is going to suffer, and it also makes everything repetitive.
Tumblr media
In conclusion, the show revolves around Elena, but her own character is so incredibly passive that she's easily replaceable.
