zelink in your au or nah?

i would say there’s about as much zelink in my au as there is in the game, so…like it’s there but it’s also probably sad and doomed lol. link also isn’t there for the large majority of it, so a lot it comes down to how sheik remembers him while he’s sealed in the sacred realm and how she feels about their whole situation over a period of years. it’s kinda hard to say how their relationship is when one of them isn’t there for so much of it, and the other is constantly thinking and mulling over just their memories of them and what they could’ve done differently. but that’s also part of the reason they’re so interesting and heartbreaking to me. im blabbin but basically there isn’t NOT zelink, but it’s complicated and still sad and not necessarily the main focus

it's crazy to me that there are people out there who still think that media and fiction do not affect how people think at all

#like that whole 'does fiction affect reality?' debate is so stupid to me cuz it's like #i mean just think about it for a second. what is propaganda? what did jaws do for people's perceptions of sharks? #i think studying the effect that popular media and fiction has on people in real life is really interesting #and it's crazy to me that there are people on the internet who think that it genuinely doesn't #like umm shoutout vit sisler for his paper 'digital arabs' i just read it for my game studies class and it's super interesting #about like orientalization how western shooter games' usage of middle eastern/muslim stereotypes as enemies created both a negative - #- stereotype for people who arent in that group and how it negatively affects the mental health and self-image of the people who are #also shoutout stuart hall and richard dyer they're really cool people and also have some super interesting papers on how representation - #- in media affects people's IRL perceptions of certain groups #i know online this focus tends to lean on that whole shipping discussion but i think it's more worthwhile to look at it on a wider scale #because 'does fiction affect reality?' is not just a 'fandom ship war' discussion it's like. the basis for many fields of study #anyways umm #liza post #actually this is more like a #liza ramble #i love tumblr bc i can write a one sentence post and put my body paragraphs in the tags #it's really late and i am tired ‼️ i wish i could be more concise i just adore my game studies class and visual culture studies in general

Drabble 84/366 - Doctor Who

This has never been a problem before, but then, the Doctor has never had a companion whose legs were so tiny.

One moment, Amelia is on his heels. The next, he looks back to see her at the end of the hallway. His screwdriver is in one hand, unlocking the door, but she won’t make it.

The Doctor careens back down the hall, screwdriver between his teeth as he scoops her up, and runs.

A bolt of energy clips his ear. He tucks Amelia’s head down.

“You need longer limbs,” he tells her, “or heelys.” Amelia, safe and sound, laughs.

the sheer volume of people who believe you can change the shape of your face permanently with a gua sha or "facial massage" or whatever because of instagram influencers who got cosmetic surgeries and lie about it is insane.

in the same vein, the amount of people in instagram comments sections who cannot recognize when someone is using a video filter to make their body inhumanly long to emphasize their thinness is also insane. "i'd give anything to look like this 😩" babe the person in the video doesn't look like that because no human being looks like that because those are literally inhuman proportions

#just feeling very. emotional about a swimsuit #this is all about body image etc so if that’s not your cup of tea just scroll along <3 #so #I bought a new swimsuit today and it’s in a larger size than I’ve ever needed bc ya girl is going through some weird stuff #that’s been making me gain weight again #after I lost a ton in 2020 #but anyways #I haven’t needed a new swimsuit in a while so I went conservative/practical and got a one piece #and usually. trying on anything over a women’s XL and realizing it fits #would start me panicking. a lot #but I…..didn’t??? #it’s not the best #it’s kind of cheap and the chesticle area is a bit saggy and it definitely highlights things i didn’t want it to #but my reaction to the mirror wasn’t anything negative #it was just like. oh. okay #that’s a swimsuit and it’s sturdy enough so I can go tubing with my friends and it has spaghetti straps so I can tan #because honestly. who cares??? #I’ve been so perceptive of the way I process how other people look that it spilled over into how I view myself #because if a girl shows up at the beach with belly rolls my first thought is. NOTHING #I don’t think about it #I don’t think hurray I don’t think yuck I just. she exists #and so do i #and I want to be healthy for my own purposes so that I’m not winded by walking a couple miles #so that I can run and enjoy it #not to look skinny #and when I tell you this is REVOLUTIONARY for me #aka it’s only changed in the last 2-3 MONTHS #idk. #I just am happy finally and it’s not gonna be easy but I think I feel better than I ever have about my appearance #call it body neutrality if you will
