A routine commercial flight was placed in jeopardy when they entered a mysterious air stream that not only increased their speed to an incredible amount, but actually hurled them through time. The first trip took them back to the time of the dinosaurs. The crew managed to recreate the events and once more hurled themselves through time. That time they found themselves in 1939. The runaways of this era were not designed for a plane of their requirements so they once more attemptted to travel in time in hopes of returning to 1961. A concept: The Mad Ones but with a quintuple-cast Samantha.

Under the cut for some length and detail.

Current Samantha embodies her current fears, insecurities, and grief, being essentially an older, more traumatized, and even less certain version of Skittish Past Samantha (with whom she often speaks lines in unison). She is often sidelined by her alternate selves, who occasionally try to take over some of her lines, and she dresses in all black as an indication of her mourning.

Skittish Past Samantha is in past scenes where she is uncertain. She dresses in a very dull, disheveled manner and doesn't have great posture either. She and Normal Past Samantha encourage Current Samantha's decision in the finale and leave in unison.

Normal Past Samantha is in more lighthearted or emotionally neutral past scenes, which tend to be on the rarer side, and she presents as a version of the past to which Current Samantha wishes to return despite never having truly had her. She is the youngest-looking and most innocent of all Samanthas, and she dresses moderately vibrantly, but not as vibrantly as Popstar Samantha.

Popstar Samantha is a free-spirited guitarist who represents an idealized, more confident version of her during numbers like "Freedom" and "The Mad Ones." She wears the most colorful clothes of all the Samanthas and has a guitar pick necklace, which she gives to Current Samantha as a symbol of becoming more certain and secure in herself during the finale before leaving.

Kelly Imitator Samantha imitates Kelly's manner of dress and hairstyle, albeit poorly and more watered-down. She wears a green sweater and gives it to Current Samantha in the finale as a symbol of healing, hope, and the ability to keep her memories while still finding closure.

Should we double-cast Kelly as Living Kelly/Ghost Kelly (neither of whom feel quite real) and Beverly as Overbearing Beverly/Fearful Beverly acting as two sides of the same coin? Whatever is done to them, I know I want Adam to have only one actor. He's a constant for Sam who just has her best interests at heart.

On season 2, episode 5. Dude, I'm still so sad that Beverly was killed 😭 That part of the episode was genuinely heartbreaking. Seeing how everyone was affected by her death really hit home. I loved how much of a theatre kid Matthew Brown was. He was so silly. Loved how he planned to kill Hannibal too. He fully did that swim thing just to show off.
