I feel like because for the majority of Shameless Gallavich had it REALLY bad, like ATROCIOUSLY bad, like nothing good ever happened to them bad, I can't really get my head around the fact that they ended married, you know. Like what do you mean the same people that got beaten, pistol whipped and raped for loving each other ended up married with neverending love and happiness???? WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE FINALE WAS BASED AROUND THEIR MARITAL BLISS??????

When Wally was finally able to acknowledge that his mother not only hurt him but was responsible for his death, when he took off his jersey with a look of relief and immeasurable grief and hurt, when he was finally able to give up on his mother's dream that he let define his life and afterlife beyond reason
I really felt that

hi. i would just like to say that this is an attitude i've seen around increasingly often and i find it deeply baffling. like, genuinely could not relate any less to what is being expressed here.
personally, almost all media i'm obsessed with and talk about constantly is because i think it's good and i love talking about the ways in which it's good. yes, criticism can be fun and breed conversation, but so can positive critique. thoughtful, long-lasting engagement with a piece of media doesn't have to be negative. there are in fact ways for media to be good beyond "competent but generally unremarkable"?
and this is ymmv, but complaining about something is more the snack food of media criticism for me. it's fun and great in the moment and it absolutely is something i need to do regularly to feel normal. but i can't live off it. i need to experience genuine appreciation and esteem on a regular basis too, or i shrivel like a raisin. (expressed more seriously: the kind of critique i find actually nourishing in the sense that it allows me to refine what kind of art i would like to make, and what makes me tick as a human being, is the positive kind about media i love very much for being excellent.)
idk guys. is it just that i'm autistic and therefore discussing for the nth time why xyz rules never stops being entertaining? what am i missing here. maybe it's good when media is good?

ABC is celebrating five years of Bluey with Bluey Fest, counting down the 100 top episodes. I voted for my top five!
1. Sleepytime
2. Space
3. Camping
4. Handstand
5. Cricket
Edit: At the time I voted for Cricket, but I now regret this decision, as this episode is an example of the military–industrial complex and how entrenched it is in society given this is a children's show that normalises war.

i love sincerely love working with dungeon meshi's magic system and the way mana sickness is depicted, like it has the breadth and scope for some truly powerful and wacky fun shit, but you can also easily bring down the hammer when you want to put the characters in difficult situations they can't get out of without a little creativity. i found when writing for baldur's gate 3 that, unless i was in a modified setting, i was hard-pressed thinking up fun ways for characters to solve their problems without just using magic, especially for the small things. i mean, what fun is throwing a character into a river and needing to warm them up when you can just cast prestidigitation?? it's one of the first things a novice can learn and also it's a cantrip, it literally costs nothing!

Okay so I’ve seen all those people talking about how mobius probably (definitely) has a family on the time line and that Loki will have to take him away from his family.
And this reminded me of something
I watched this show called the Orville which was a show reminiscent of Star Trek (the first seasons not that great but the next two seasons are really good)
SPOILERS BTW
In one episode in the newest season this character called Gordon accidentally goes back in time and while waiting for his coworkers to help him back he meets someone and starts a family with her. In the end they have to take him away from his family because your average time traveling reasons “your from the future so it can’t work” sort of thing.
That episode made me really sad and I don’t think I can handle that sort of thing again.
