Regarding the discourse about day regaining vision: no, regaining ability doesn’t negate the journey one went on to come to terms with losing it but I think the important end to this statement is “in real life.” Obviously real live human beings have more inherent value and meaning to their lives than… narrative value I guess? Last twilight tho, as fiction, as a story that was set up to depict this journey of acceptance and growth and to show on screen that disabled people can and do live happy lives (which you should know already honestly but it does seem like that was the message they intended to send) sort of… doesn’t have value outside of the narrative? Like a story’s purpose is to tell a story, obviously, water is wet, I don’t know how to say this. Do you get what I mean? So to have a story built on one barrier REMOVE the barrier at the very end is just like. Ok??? Why??? No it doesn’t invalidate day’s growth (his non-disability related regression does tho) but it’s like why exactly did someone want to tell this story?? What WAS the message then? It doesn’t invalidate day but it kinda does invalidate the story as a whole….

Love the idea that Leo’s portal and teleportation based fighting style can heavily parallel the types of stuff you’d see in magic acts. Disappearing and reappearing, pulling stuff out of a hat/portal, sleight of hand and other such methods of averting the audience’s/enemies’ attention from what you’re trying to do, etc.
It’s genuinely pretty neat to see and I wish his love of magic acts and magicians was brought up more often because it and his other interests tie into each other and in turn his whole self so neatly.

im gonna try and keep this short so people dont look at this and go "long post i wont read"
i just wanna talk about how lunar and sun are treated so differently even though they are both trauma and abuse survivors (im not arguing about whether sun isnt or not, because he is and im not diving into that)
lunar is what people usually think of when they think of "trauma survivor." when he gets triggered he panics, he runs, and he cries.
sun is *not* what people think of when they think of trauma survivor. when sun gets triggered he panics, he fights, and he gets violent
(ever heard of fight or flight?)
sun is *still* a trauma survivor and how he reacts is a *trauma response. and it is a common response.*
with trauma disorders its common for the people with them to become irritable and violent when upset. *that* is what sun is experiencing.
stop demonizing a traumatized person for having unpalatable trauma responses. its wrong and ableist towards trauma survivors who are violent and angry because theyre scared.

It's always so funny when people are like "I'm gatekeeping this character/ship from people who don't appreciate it or know it in the same way I do" like. How are you doing this. What brokenness within you has led you to believe it you can or should emulate a fedora-wearing geek guy who harasses women and POC at comic conventions for being fake bandwagon fans because they don't happen to know the name of a random x-men villain who appeared in a single issue.

i see that YOU wanna be bothered too and that you're a d4 enthusiast like me (they're my pookies!!) soooo what's your thoughts on the hc that annie was a career?? 🤭🎤
omg first of all thank you for sending this also i just saw your header and that’s such a slay
this is SUCH a good question and i know it’s so controversial so this is just my personal take!! i totally understand why people might think it’s wrong-
but i do believe that annie was a career and volunteered for the games. i think all victors are damaged from their games in a way and annie is just a different (perhaps more extreme?) example of the affects of being in the arena.
the thing is, you can have all the training in the world- but nothing really prepares you for that kind of violence. especially not seeing your district partner, someone you knew, being decapitated. that is extremely heavy and traumatizing to witness even for someone who volunteered for it. and yes, maybe most careers wouldn’t be impacted by that to the extent that by the human brain is a weird thing and all people react differently.
i saw someone make the comparison between soldiers signing up to join the military and still coming out deeply traumatized by what they saw and i think that’s a pretty good example. you can know what you’re getting into, you can train, you can do whatever- but you’re never truly 100% prepared to go through something like that.
in my opinion, that actually makes her a much more interesting- and no less sympathetic- character! i think a lot of people don’t want to associate annie (and even finnick i see a lot) with being “careers” because the careers are associated with being the bad guys and no one wants their faves to be the bad guys. but the careers were not evil/bad people- they were brainwashed children. but that’s another rant for another day.
so yeah idk if any of that even made sense but basically:
yes, annie is a heavily traumatized- but real- career.
