RECIPE: Berry Baked Oats (★★★★½)
Welcome to my blog! I wanted to give you all a warm welcome to Sagal’s Kitchen where I’ll be reviewing dairy free recipes, as I navigate my way through lactose intolerance and finding a healthy lifestyle that works for me.
In today’s recipe we’ll be starting with the basics: breakfast! Specifically Baked Berry Oats. It’s a simple yet delicious protein filled brekkie, that’ll kick start your day.

I’ve found several food bloggers including the likes of @lenahfst (on Instagram) and Emily Gough who make the creamiest to-die-for baked oats, so I thought I’d give it a try!
Today’s ingredients:
1 cup of rolled oats
1 cup of plant based milk or water (my favourite is Oatly’s oat milk)
2 pieces of sea salt vegan chocolate (Pico’s brand is the best)
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons cinnamon
½ cup of frozen mixed berries

Method:
You want to start off by gathering your rolled oats, baking powder, cinnamon, and milk into a blender, blending until it’s smoothly combined.
For an incredibly smooth texture, personally I like to grind the oats until it almost resembles a powder (but still has that oat consistency).
Taking your mixture, you want to place half of it into a Pyrex dish. After placing half inside the dish, take two pieces of your chosen chocolate, and place it in the centre of the mixture.
Proceed to fill the rest of your dish with the remaining oat mixture, ensuring the chocolate is fully covered.
Bake at 170 degrees (Celsius) for 15 minutes.
Let the oats cool for 5 minutes, before placing your mixed berries on top.
Now enjoy!!!
These oats are so creamy and indulgent and taste amazing. This is inarguably the best oats I’ve ever had in my life. The entire process is so quick and easy, it’s a great breakfast idea if you want something low maintenance in the mornings.
You can complete your regular morning routine whilst making this recipe too.
I found it was also pretty filling too, I almost skipped lunch! Next time I think I’ll add maple syrup for that extra kick.

160g Rolled Oats (or any oats)
40g dark chocolate chips
Makes around 8-10 pieces I’d say
Protein: 5.2g , the whole thing is 41.3g

Brownie Baked Oatmeal
Gluten-free, dairy-free, & low in sugar brownie baked oatmeal 🍫🍫 the perfect healthy breakfast, snack, or even dessert 😆
Ingredients 1/3 cup oats 1/2 spotty banana 1 egg 1/4 cup milk of choice (I used coconut milk) 1 heaping tbsp cocoa powder Pinch salt 1/4 tsp baking soda Chocolate chips Optional - add 1 tbsp maple syrup, honey, coconut sugar or sweetener of choice if you want it sweeter! Directions 1) add all ingredients (except chocolate chips) to a blender and blend until fully combined 2) pour batter into a lightly greased oven-safe baking dish 3) top with chocolate chips 4) bake at 350F for 20-25 ish minutes. Top with sea salt and enjoy!

Strawberry Baked Oats anyone?
With strawberry "cream cheese" filling ...
#dEats
- ⅓ cup oat flour, or ground rolled oats
- ½ tbsp each chia and flax seeds
- pinch sea salt
- 1 scoop @3leaf_nutrition strawberry
- ½ tsp-ish baking powder
- ½ mashed banana, (also made without, so it's not necessary but if not using, use equal parts milk to Oat flour)
- ¼ cup oat milk
🍀 Mix everything together in an oven safe baking dish.
Cream cheese filling:
Tbsp plant based cream cheese
Mashed strawberries, alternatively, use strawberry cream cheese
🍀 Add cream cheese to center and cover with oat mixture.
🍀 Bake at 350° F for about 15 minutes.
🍀 Top and enjoy!
Topped with banana, strawberries, my favorite PB superfood mix, and PB filled dark chocolate. This was delish and made me wonder why I haven't made baked oats as often lately 🤷🏼‍♀️. Always busy it seems.
Tried out another protein from Ireland: @3leaf_nutrition. This one is strawberry nutrition powder for adult immune support. They make nutrition powders for the whole family also. Made with real milk so I actually intend to bake with these. I have vanilla to try also, which is actually geared toward children but 🤷🏼‍♀️... Trying if anyway 🤣.

😋 BLUEBERRY BAKED OATS
Ingredients:
-1 cup oats
-1/2 banana
-1/2 cup frozen blueberries
-1 tbsp honey
-1 tsp baking powder
-pinch of salt
-1/4 cup dairy free milk
Steps:
-blend ingredients together
-add to an oven safe container
-air fry at 350F for 10 minutes (or bake in the oven for ~20)

Ingredients 1 cup oats 1/2 cup oat flour 1 cup peanut butter (only ingredients peanuts or peanuts and salt) 2 eggs 1/4 cup coconut sugar (can sub any kind of sugar) 1/4 cup maple syrup 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 tsp baking soda Pinch sea salt 3/4 cup chocolate chips Directions 1) preheat oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside 2) mix together peanut butter, eggs, coconut sugar, maple syrup, and vanilla 3) mix in the rest of your ingredients except for the chocolate chips 4) stir in chocolate chips 5) scoop out dough and roll into balls. Rinsing your hands halfway through will help if they are sticking 6) flatten each cookie dough ball using the bottom of your palm. You want to flatten them quite a bit because they don’t flatten very much when baking! 7) bake 9-11 minutes (less if you make smaller cookies). Let cool completely before removing them from the tray. Enjoy!

HAPPY HIPPO BOWL 🦛🍫 🧾𝐙𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧 (𝐓𝐞𝐢𝐠): * 25g Haferflocken * 1/2 zerquetschte Banane * 1/2 TL Backpulver * 2 Scoops Chunky / 15g Erythrit * 10g Backkakao * 1 Schuss Pflanzenmilch * 60g Skyr 🧾𝐙𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧 (𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞): * 50g Skyr * 50g Vanille Protein Pudding * 1 TL Schoko Protein Pudding 🥣𝐙𝐮𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐠: 1. die Zutaten für den Teig vermengen und in eine ofenfeste Form geben (1 EL übrig lassen. 2. In die Mitte 1 EL Schokopudding geben und den restlichen Teig darüber verteilen. 3. Für ca. 20 Minuten bei 180° Umluft im Ofen backen. 4. Alle Zutaten für die Creme vermischen. 5.
