Early morning thoughts: food is not a reward. Food is not something I “deserve” because I worked hard and had a bad day. It just is.
I’ve been thinking about getting McDonald’s for breakfast before I drive to the conference center today because “I had a hard day yesterday” but no. I don’t really want McDonald’s. I want to feel better and my binge-y brain associates a quick fix as feeling better. McDonald’s won’t do that in the long term or even really the short term except while I’m eating it. It’ll frustrate me because I know it’ll make me feel bloated after and then I’ll feel sluggish all day while I’m running around. And it puts me back on the path of “just once” which is a slippery slope for me.
I’m going to make myself a protein waffle, a giant glass of Fairlife milk, and an orange and it’s going to fuel me up. This is what growth looks like and damn it I’m proud of myself.
