Yashahime: Awful Sequel

When the first of the information came out that Inuyasha was getting a sequel, everybody was excited but it was a really awful show that was overhyped. It became a failing sequel to the Inuyasha franchise just like Boruto became to the Naruto franchise. It's a show about a hanyo version of kagome and/or rin who inherited the obsessive clingly nature, a hanyo female version of sesshomaru who barely has a personality that doesn't involve slaying and playing the violin, and a weak comic relief shihanyo who inherited her parents worst traits, who are majority of the time always winning fights.

Rushed

Just like with Inuyasha the Final Act, Yashahime was extremely rushed and boring. The Final Act was quickly wrapped up in 1 season as the manga was longer.

2. Constant Copying

In one of kohakuxrin's post there is massive recycling from the previous inuyasha content and especially the final act manga material that wasn't made in the rushed anime. As they

- Chibiusa has a key that leads to the door of time which leads to the future, and she was being hunted by bad guys. - Akuru has a pinwheel that activates the windmill of time opening a path to the future, and he was being hunted by Kirinmaru.

No question in those two because Katsuyuki Sumisawa was involved in the first anime version of Sailor Moon and in the same episodes in which the rainbow crystals assembled and Chibiusa took the Sailor Warriors to the doors of time (episodes 34 and 82).

In episode 20, 2 lizard yokai attempting to break into the hanyo village look very similar to the two lizard yokai in the original series.

3. Contrived Powerups

Majority of the time, you would notice that towa, Setsuna, and moroha get these power ups to easily defeat an opponent by emotions or hearing about something.

4. Miroku and Sango's Family

Other than Hisui, they are barely seen.

Miroku spent the majority of the series on a 1000 day training and in the last episodes of the season he was suddenly powerful and taking on the grim butterfly. In episode 22, miroku was easily defeated by zero and had kin'u take his place.

Sango, who was known to be a strong female fighter in the original, was reduced to simply miroku's wife and hisui's, kin'u's, and gyokuto's mother. In the last episode of the final act, sango retired from being a demon slayer but could've come out of retirement to lead the new demon alongside kohaku but instead she's reduced to making mask and supplies. In the last episodes of season 2, sango comes out of retirement to fight with a rushed weapon called the black hiraikotsu.

Hisui could've continued to learn under miroku while being a demon slayer despite kin'u being a monk first. Sango, who was the original owner of the hiraikotsu, should have been the one to inspire hisui to be a demon slayer instead of kohaku. The hiraikotsu doesn't have the abilities it achieved in the final act.

The creators of yashahime decided in season 2 to give hisui feelings for setsuna, making it offiical in episode 48, to make it opposite of riku and towa since hisui is a full blooded human riku is a incarnation of a full blooded yokai.

Kin'u and Gyokuto, who appeared the least in the show, only appear to make a character shine. sango, who is a skilled fighter, didn't even train kin'u and gyokuto in combat as the only thing they do is throw sutras and powders. The creators didn't put any thought into their character designs as kin'u and gyokuto should've had different hairstyles and lengths from each other as the only difference in kin'u's hair was the small ponytail and gyokuto's hair didn't change at all. While kin'u's attire did change, the difference between gyokuto's attire from childhood was her apron and woven sandals.

They could've appeared more in the series and developed their personalities and abilities.

And when shippo appeared again especially in episode 48, kin'u and gyokuto reverted back to their personalities when they were little children.

5. Kohaku and the Demon Slayers

kohaku's face looks like iruka from the naruto franchise. Despite opposite character designs and weapons, rokuta and nansuke barely have personalities and don't even have backstories

How could the demon slayers, especially kohaku and hisui, not know setsuna was a hanyo after seeing her abilities and sensing her aura.

Kohaku and the Demon Slayers really don't think things through sometimes and aren't very bright.

Ex. Nikosen was poisoning a mountain and instead of thinking of other ways to defeat him, the only way they thought to defeat him in their minds was to burn the mountain.

6. Secrets

It seems to me nobody wants to talk about the past.

Despite living in the modern era for 10 years, the higurashi family never mentioned or seen pictures of kagome to towa until she was about to leave for the feudal era.

kaede never told kohaku, hisui, and the other demon slayers that setsuna was a hanyo or was sesshomaru's daughter. After 10 years of not seeing setsuna, kaede never once told her about sesshomaru, rin, or towa and even when she returned she still didn't explain. It only took 21 episodes for kaede to tell towa about rin and even then it was quick information about how they lived together for many years and she disappeared shortly after she and setsuna were born.

I wonder why nobody especially miroku and sango told kohaku about towa and setsuna being sesshomaru and rin's daughters and not even a letter.

Even when kohaku found out about towa and setsuna being sesshomaru's daughters, he only mentioned something to them in episodes 5 and 31.

When miroku first met towa, he was informed that she was setsuna's older sister and instead of telling her about their parents he just stood there silently.

When the higurashi family realized that moroha is kagome's daughter, they never told her information about her and inuyasha and tried to fix this in season 2 especially in episode 28.

7. Underage Pairings

The creators of yashahime really don't care about the sick relationships.

sesshomaru and rin, knew her ever since she was 7-8 years old.

riku and towa, he knew her before she was born

homaru and tamano, kidnapped and tried to force her to love him.

moroha flirting with bokuseno.

I don't have an opinion on hisui/setsuna or hisui/aiya.

8. Rushed and Failed Backstories

They really didn't think much into the childhoods.

In episode 15, towa and setsuna were taken away and placed in a forest for 4 years and moroha was sent away to the koga and ayame by hachiemon.

In towa's childhood after being separated from setsuna, there's not much known as we see her meet sota, have a weight set and trophies to explain her life, a flashback of a pinky promise, and they gave of these rushed memories in episode 36 like they gave kagome rushed memories in the final act.

With setsuna, her being taken away from the burned forest, being accepted into the hidden hanyo village, training under 2 orders, defeated 2 lizard yokai, flash forward 6 years later, a recycled flashback from episode 3, returning to the hanyo village, a quick copy and pasted of episodes 51 and 52 except the soldiers are yokai, and leaving the hanyo village.

With moroha, a quick flashback of her last training day with yawaragi, battling a recycled character kodoku, being sold to jyubei, battling the birds of paradise, and giving quick images of her as a baby in episode 39.

9. Contrived Emotional Moments

The scenes that are supposed to be emotional are bland, rushed, and cringe-worthy.

Ex.

sota and towa's relationship wasn't sad for me as in season 1 and 2 they had very little interactions and were forced.

Ex. in episode 4, sota and towa talking and saying goodbye and in season 2 sota and towa meeting again and goodbye again after he tells he will always see her as his own blood daughter as they transform appearance when they first met.

A female wolf yokai named yawaragi was mentioned in episode 14, appeared as a small cameo at the end of episode 15, and official debut. She has a few flashbacks, a quick fight, then they tried to give us this emotional dying scene of her with moroha but i'm not attached to the character and everything goes back like nothing ever happened except for a new ability.

towa and setsuna tearfully hugging each other and apologizing when setsuna regains her memories.

Basically episode 48 was one of the worst episodes in the entire two seasons.

10. Terrible Characters

Majority of the yashahime series characters were boring and confusing.

Ex.

In season 1, she looked more like she was the big bad of the series than Kirinmaru, who didn't even act like the villain.

Zero possessed much more of a threat to our main characters, as she is responsible for the forest fire that separated Towa and Setsuna and indirectly separated Moroha from Inuyasha and kagome. She's done various other things, blackmailing Sesshomaru by cursing Rin. She feels very much that she had the same level of connection that she had that the same connection Naraku did with Inuyasha.

zero's back story as well seemed uninteresting and confusing, having feelings towards Toga, and when he dies her love for him drives her to kill his descendants. She could have become more interesting as the series progressed. If the rainbow pearls sealed away her emotions, then why is zero taking revenge on toga's descendants and got angry at sesshomaru's mother.

But that was not the case, as when season 2 aired, is when Zero started to run down downhill by gathering the rainbow pearls, for revenge, kidnapping towa, and basically holding rin's life hostage, and it all ends in episodes 36 and 37.

To start with, Setsuna learns from Rin that she must save Zero to stop the curse from killing her. Really wished we knew that before. Thanks, Rin, which leads into the next episode.

At this point, Zero has been emotionally torturing Towa for the entire night by reminding her of her sadness and suffering, and is pretty much trying to get Towa angry enough so that she can kill her, and in doing so kill Rin. She's almost successful when Setsuna shows up, shows Towa the dream butterfly, and suddenly Towa loses all the anger she has towards zero in a matter of seconds.

towa then thanks zero for what she's done and it is really annoying. zero prepares to kill herself and Setsuna cuts the thread of fate tying Zero to Toga and she removes the curse from Rin and commits suicide by Riku.

All of these in a matter of minutes, they make Zero, this threatening and uninteresting villain and rendered her more pathetic. They had to give her a redemption arc when she's been the most villainous character in this sequel. Kirinmaru felt more like an obstacle the same way Koga was in Inuyasha. But this, this was so dumb, and when I was watching episode 36 and heard what Rin said, I knew what this was leading into but it was so much worse when Towa thanked her for it. She really didn't need to thank the person who separated her from her twin sister and tried multiple times to kill her, sister, and rin because it's just wrong.

The creators of yashahime couldn't even give zero an actual conclusion that fitted with her character, and she's forgiven so easily. You didn't see Inuyasha thanking Naraku for setting him and Kikyo against each other and killing Kikyo, Sango thanking naraku for killing her village and controlling her kohaku, and miroku thanking naraku for cursing his bloodline. Could you imagine how messed up that would have been?

11. Timeline Error and Wrong Ages

The story takes place after 18 years after the final act but they keep getting the timeline wrong.

In episode 3, kaede said the bone-eater's well stopped working after 15 years.

In episode 39, kagome said she hasn't seen her family in 14 years.

Despite the yashahime creators making jaken and the tree of ages saying that rin is supposedly 18, she is really 15.

The true creator, Rumiko Takahashi, explained in databooks that rin is 7-8 years old in the beginning, sota is 8-9 years old, and kohaku is 11 years old.

In the 3 year time skip at the end of the final act rin is 11, sota is 11-12, and kohaku is 14.

4 years later when towa, setsuna, moroha were born, rin would be 15, sota would be 15-16, and kohaku is 18.

When they were 4 years old, Rin was 19, sota was 19-20, and kohaku was 22.

10 years later in the present as they are 14 years old, rin is 29 not 32, sota is 29-30, and kohaku is 32.

The reason the creators tried to age sota and rin up is because they forgot.

12. Copied Information

If you watched yashahime, you would immediately notice the constant copy and pasting from the original series and the final act. They're trying to do this to bring back memorable feelings to the new series.

Ex.

Even though the rainbow pearls were created from the sacred jewel and have its essence, as they just copied lesser powerful versions of it.

towa, setsuna, and moroha fighting mistress three eyes to remember the fight between inuyasha and kagome with mistress centipede.

setsuna not wanting to be a hanyo is a reference of sesshomaru disliking hanyo.

towa being controlled by the hitokon like the little boy, but how did it appear in the modern era without being seen.

setsuna remembering mei thanking her is to remember rin smiling at sesshomaru.

moroha appearing in the room naked without shame just like inuyasha.

grandpa higurashi giving moroha, who had a weird look on her face, a kappa foot just like he gave kagome, who also had a weird on her face, a kappa foot as well.

13. Sesshomaru

Personally, I've never really liked sesshomaru as just like miroku, jaken, sango, especially shippo and kagome. As in yashahime, sesshomaru became bland and terrible.

Out of all of the characters whose personalities and motives changed from the original series, The one who got it the worse was Sesshomaru. Despite him not being on screen for very long in the first season and the currently ongoing second season, he's barely said anything. To be fair, Sesshomaru wasn't having full-blown conversations with everyone, but he at least has some conversations with other characters. Here he barely says anything.

He's also not very emotional, which was the same in the original series, but with what has happened in the second season of Yashahime, you'd think the writers would give him some kind of emotional moments not the sick ones of sesshomaru holding rin when the curse was placed on her in episode 27 and it being taken off her in episode 37.

In season 1, sesshomaru has barely appeared and mostly made short cameos and flashbacks.

Ex. In episode 18, sesshomaru only appeared for a short time to quickly fight kirinmaru, orders jaken to not say anything then they leave.

The plot for him is really bad and doesn't make any sense, sesshomaru takes towa and setsuna shortly after they're born, stay away from them and refuses to help them when they were 4 years because homura and zero, who he can easily defeat, who kill them herself and kill rin, who said she would rather die than let them be sacrificed for her sake, but changed his mind when they were 14 years old. And sesshomaru idiotically listened to jaken sealing into the tree of ages and sealing inuyasha and kagome away into the black pearl because they thought they would go after zero and killer which would also kill rin, even though they would find another way to save her.

Even though, sesshomaru secretly gave setsuna items and tasks over the 6 years she's lived in the hidden hanyo village, he's a terrible father as he doesn't tell them anything, basically an absent father, left towa and setsuna to face kirinmaru and setsuna was killed, completely left the task of setsuna saving rin to her and didn't do anything as kohaku and sota were more fathers to them instead of himself.

The creator of yashahime could've made janis or kaname kururugi canon in the series and giving them a story of how they came to permanently live the feudal era, or a new female character with a background but instead they disgustingly chose rin, a girl he knew since she was 7-8 and mostly treated like a daughter.

In Yashahime, sesshomaru is a terrible husband as he doesn't see rin as an equal and majority of the time still has the father-daughter dynamic and treats her like a pet.

Ex. shortly after towa and setsuna, sesshomaru didn't say a word to rin and took the twins without a single explanation to anyone other than a rite of courage and cowardice, commanded her to follow him and stay like a dog especially in episodes 46 and 47 when he commanded her watch him battle kirinmaru, and even in episode 48 when he still ordered him to follow him. The only time sesshomaru is ordered around is in episode 35 by rin.

In season 2, sesshomaru majority of the time just stands and watches things happen for plot, even when he's in the grim butterfly, in a coma, and letting others such as towa, setsuna, and moroha to do the work.

For an example, In Inuyasha, the final act, when they are in the underworld and Kohaku tells him that Rin isn't breathing. Sesshomaru shows genuine fear and concern, which I believe is the only time he acts this way. Then when he learns that Tenseiga can't revive her, he blames himself for it and says that nothing was worth losing her. It's one of the most powerful moments for Sesshomaru and shows just how far he's come. Whether you see Sesshomaru care towards Rin as Fatherly or not, this scene shows just how much he cares for her.

Let's compare that to in Yashahime.

After Sesshomaru kills the dream butterfly, it causes the Silver scale curse to spread more quickly, which will eventually kill Rin. She's pretty much dying in front of him, and he has no way to stop it himself. So how does he act?

He says nothing, even when she talks to him and he keeps the same face.

sesshomaru separated moroha from inuyasha and kagome for 14 years and the one who gets scolded for badmouthing him was inuyasha, who was rightfully so, and he was instantly forgiven, kagome saying 'i'm sure he had his reasons', sat inuyasha, and scolded him for blaming towa and setsuna, even though he wasn't. setsuna also shouldm't have to apologize on sesshomaru's behalf.

He later kills the dream butterfly to motivate Setsuna to be able to use her Yukari no Tachikiri, which nearly causes Rin to die because of him and finally, he doesn't go and save Towa when she is being tortured all night by Zero and Nanahoshi by his minature galaxy.

It feels like they were trying to frame it as Sesshomaru could be genuinely working with Kirinmaru, but in doing so, they make him look like he's the worst father of the year. And with how long this mystery dragged out, it didn't make Sesshomaru look any better.

It definitely it's completely different writing when it comes to Sesshomaru in both series, with Inuyasha, Rumiko wrote him a clear goal and a conclusion. In Yashahime, they're trying to one-up the audience with their mystery and are unintentionally wreaking his entire character.

14. Not Naming Characters

Despite new characters such as moe higurashi, mei higurashi, and aiya receiving names there are lot of characters that still don't have names such as sesshomaru's mother, weasel man, gokoku village headman, northern demon slayers leader, the granny, the lady, the muscle, the ninja, and so many others.

Despite knowing that his name is toga, they still refer to him as the great dog demon.

15. Nerfed

Just like Boruto and Dragon Ball Super, the power scaling doesn't make any sense. In Super, beerus, who is a god, is fighting goku, who turned into a super saiyan god, after a period of time transforms back into a simple super saiyan but doesn't make any sense that he can still can fight beerus, they tried to explain away this through beerus but it doesn't work. In Boruto, there have been many multiple fights where the older generations are nerfed to make the younger generation shine like when jugo hit konohamaru and he couldn't move for a few days but when jugo hit boruto he easily recovered, when karin had to become weak with her chakra chain in order for sarada to be strong, or when in the time travel arc with urashiki that sasuke was constantly weak in order for a genin naruto, boruto, and jiraiya to shine. It also happens in more sequels like in yashahime.

Ex.

kirinmaru, who is equal to toga, can receive massive injuries from towa and setsuna, hanyos, and moroha, a shihanyo.

Zero, who possessed all of her 7 rainbow pearls that contain her immense yokai power that can summon an even greater demonic power that is far too strong and dangerous to even exist and the essence of the sacred jewel, can easily be killed by a feral towa.

The grim comet/grim butterfly, that has vast amounts of demon energy that it took toga, kirinmaru, sesshomaru, and inuyasha to defeat small fragments of it, was being completely held back by miroku and kagome, not even combined can match midoriko and kikyo.

16. UnInteresting Fights

Majority of the fights are boring and rushed.

Ex.

In season 1, you would notice that more than half the fights are recycled from the final act manga and the original series.

In season 2, the fights are stale and lack originality.

towa and setsuna battling rock fiends.

riku and rion battling kirinmaru.

Ex. In the final fight against kirinmaru and sesshomaru, the fighting moves sesshomaru uses are recycled from his fight against magatsuhi.

17. Bland Characters

Most of the yashahime characters lack character and are boring.

Ex.

Despite Raita and Futa having their parents killed by different species, different abilities, and opposite appearances, they're basically the same as one said something and the other agrees and repeats what the other said, they say 'take this' and attack. Raita and Futa's appearances didn't put much thought into them and when they're older the difference they get is armor.

With Mei Higurashi, we're told about her personality from towa but she's annoying and reminds me of kagome and rin when she wants to run into dangerous situations to resolve problems, bossy, and whiny.

Moe Higurashi rarely has a personality as the naive overly cheerful person that reminds us of ms. higurashi and her appearance looks like a light brown haired kagome and the only thing we know about her is that she's a traveling violinist.

takechiyo wasn't much of a character as is a less annoying version of shippo and a boring background story with his twin brother.

18. Sudden Recovery

In the original, inuyasha sustained damages from powerful and mst of them took him a while to heal but in yashahime mostly everyone, including towa, setsuna, and moroha, heals instantly from their injures even hisui.

It feels like when characters are facing powerful enemies they instantly get up without a scratch despite having injuries. I know they're hanyos from a powerful dog demon but it's contrived.

Ex. setsuna becomes injured after being restrained by mistress three eyes but quickly recovered to defeat her.

towa was weak after being released from hitokon's control but instantly recovered when setsuna wanted to remove the hitokon from mei's face.

miroku battled gaga gozen and was instantly defeated and weakened but instantly recovered when he battled setsuna.

In episode 18, towa, setsuna, and moroha battled kirinmaru and easily lost but instantly recovered.

19. Plot

The plot was really stupid and to be dramatic.

Ex.

In season 1, ever since episode 2 when towa and setsuna separated, they constantly remind us for drama by memories and/or through other people in episodes 3, 4, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, and 20, especially episodes 8, 10, and 14.

placing a seal on setsuna and her main weapon to keep her demon blood in check but during the series she's never fully tries to master it, only a small piece of it known as the blood blade. they made setsuna have a seal but not towa, that's not fair.

Throughout season 2, everyone was saying that towa needed to fight with a demon weapon and not something made by humans but at the last episodes she's fighting with the kikujmonji, a weapon made from humans.

In episode 17, setsuna, who doesn't even know anything about sesshomaru and the dog demon clan, suddenly knows the dog demon clan is capable of discovering demonic energies from a distance with their unusually sharpened sense of smell but in episode 23 she questions her clan.

In episode 24, riku stabbing kirinmaru, who had his guard down, to weakened him for towa, setsuna, and moroha and towa stabbing kirinmaru.

In episode 24, setsuna dying so towa and moroha can instantly power up.

In episode 38, towa, setsuna, and moroha attacking kirinmaru and sesshomaru taking kirinmaru's attack and sending them into the black pearl.

In episode 39, kirinmaru showing up and demanding sesshomaru to come out before battling inuyasha, kagome, and moroha.

osamu kirin, who barely appeared in the series, was suddenly the villain of the last episodes of season 2.

riku and rion battling kirinmaru and later riku, who was heavily injured, easily taking rion away from kirinmaru.

In episode 47, towa dying so rion can face fear who ended up dying again anyway.

It doesn't make any sense, Rin was stuck in the tree for 4 before the silver scale curse slowly started to spread but suddenly when the dream butterfly was killed it spread all over her body within a few episodes.

20. Rushed Abilities

The abilities within the yashahime series are quickly inherited and lackluster.

21. Background Characters

The creators of yashahime really didn't put any thought into what to do with the characters.

Ex. The higurashi family basically didn't do anything as in episode 2 they were just get kidnapped and standing there and in episode 3 when towa, setsuna, and moroha were interacting with each other, all they did was silently standing there and didn't speak to them.

With shiori, they barely changed anything about her appearance except she now wears woven sandals and different hairpins and worst short as she doesn't and let's little children fight for her.

With koga and ayame, they only make a very small non-speaking cameo at the end of episode 15 and don't even have children of their own.

22. Hairstyles

The creators of yashahime really didn't put much thought into most hairstyles such as takechiyo, kikunosuke, kin'u, gyokuto, rion, and futa have the same styles.

23. Bad Animation

In episodes of season 1 and 2, you can see multiple terrible animation mistakes.

the past few days had been absolute chaos but in a good way. the chiefs had won the super bowl for the third time and you’re husband had won mvp. things had been really good.

your 4-year-old son was absolutely ecstatic about everything that had happened. he was his dad's second biggest fan (after you of course). he adored pat and was his twin and mirrored all of his actions. so when you pulled up to the big party bus he immediately freaked out knowing he’d be able to celebrate with his dad.

“daddy the bus has the chiefs logo on it!!” your son bronze said in awe as he stared out the window. “yeah buddy i know. wanna get on it?” patrick said as he smiled at your son “um YEAH!!” he said practically jumping out of his seat when the car had come to a stop. “let’s go mommy & daddy!!!” he said as you followed behind him as quickly as you could at 6 months pregnant

“i’m comin' baby!” you said as pat stepped out before you and assisted you out of the car. his hand was placed supportively on your lower back as you both walked behind your eager son to the bus. “i told you he’d be more excited than you.” you said to your husband as you looked up at him “i really didn’t think he’d be that excited” pat said as he laughed “babe you’re his idol anything that involves you automatically makes him excited.” you said as you stopped before getting into the bus “i got so lucky with you three…” he said as he rubbed your belly and leaned in to kiss your lips “mom, dad!!!! come on everybody’s waiting for you!” you’re son said as he looked down at you from the top of the bus. “we’re comin!” you said as you chuckled “i love you baby, you’re our mvp..” you said placing your hand on his chest and placing a kiss on his cheek before slowly climbing up the stairs of the bus before pat was immediately behind you guiding you up the stairs.

“jeez me and bronze thought you guys got lost down there…” your sons godfather travis kelce said sarcastically as you and patrick made it to the roof of the bus. “we’ll hello to you too trav.” you said as you gave him a hug “hey y/n how’s the babe doin?” he said as he did his signature fist bump to your belly “she’s doing great! keeps me up all night and in the bathroom every 10 minutes but she’s thriving!” you said with a tight lipped smile on your face “you’re a trooper!” he said as he laughed and patrick came over after chatting with one of his teammates and dabbed him up. “i’m gonna go see bronze babe.” you said to pat as he replied with an “okay baby” and kissed your forehead before you walked away

“bronze you havin fun?” you said coming up from behind your son who was talking to orlando. “yeah momma!!” he said as he hugged your lower half. “hey orlando how are you!” you said as you sat in the seat next to your son needing a break from standing in your heels. “hey y/n i’m good how are you and the baby?” he said trying to look at you and your son as he talked to him. “we’re good! thank you for asking.” you said as you smiled at him “of course! hey do you mind if i put bronze in one of my tiktoks?” he asked as he pulled out his phone and mini microphone. “yeah i’m fine with that! get me in there too!” you said jokingly. “don’t play i will! i actually was planning to interview all three of you guys too!” he said causing you to laugh. he ended up asking bronze a bunch of questions about the nfl and how he felt about everything that had been happening lately and it was super cute.

“okay bronze last question! what are you most excited for coming up?” he said as he placed the mic next to your son. “um well my mommy’s pregnant and about to have a baby so i’m excited to be a big brother and hope i’m a good one!” he said nervously which immediately brought tears to your eyes. “wow bud that was actually really sweet!” he said as he pretended to wipe tears from his eyes but then he saw you and signaled the recorder to put the camera on you. “y/n you good?” he said slightly concerned “yeah yeah that was just really sweet…” you said as you squeezed your son and kissed all over his face “mom stop!!” he said trying to break free from your grip until you finally let go. “we’ll let’s interview y/n mahomes now! seems only right.” orlando said as he moved to sit in the seat next to you as you were laughing as you wiped your tears “sorry pregnancy hormones make me so emotional.” you said as you looked at the camera.

“nah it’s all good! now if you guys have been following patrick and y/n for a while now you know they’ve been together since college right y/n?” orlando said moving the mic to you. “yeah that’s true!! we met in our freshmen years of college and have been together ever since!” you said as you smiled “that’s awesome. i think anyone would say that you’re pat’s biggest supporter and number one fan. would you agree?” “oh, i definitely am. i love him so much and support him with every bone in my body. but i think i’ve got some competition with bronze! he’s trying to beat me for number 1!” you said as you looked slightly mad but anyone could look past your facade and tell that was the opposite. “you definitely do!! i don’t think he can take your spot tho! that’s why we got you this…” orlando said as he pulled a fake gold metal out of his bag that had pats face on it that said ‘#1 fan of the mvp” on it. “oh my god…i love it!” you said as you laughed and put the necklace over your neck. it was long enough that it reached your very pregnant belly but it was perfect.

“speaking of look who’s walking over here! let’s get pats reaction to that…” he said as patrick walked over as he had already been looking for you and your son who was sitting on your right side as he slept peacefully. “hey orlando!!” hey bab- oh my god…” he said as he saw your necklace and bent over laughing “do you like…? i’ve won the #1 fan award!” you said as you started to laugh too and he walked over to you. “oh i love it and you’re keeping it for later..” he said loud enough for only you to hear as he leaned in to kiss your lips causing all the men around you to erupt in cheers and you to roll your eyes.

“you ready for your interview pat?” orlando asked “oh yeah buddy let’s do it.” pat said as he dabbed him up. “so sorry to interrupt i’m just gonna go downstairs with this little guy so he can rest before the parade starts!” you said as you got up and picked up your son trying not to wake him. “okay baby call me if you need me. i’ll be down in a bit” he said as he gave your butt a gentle slap as you walked in front of him that didn’t go unnoticed by the other guys as they all looked at each other. “bye y/n & bronze see ya later!” orlando said as the camera followed you two as you walked.

“now pat if you could play for any other team in the nfl what team would you play for…” “hm i don’t know man that’s a hard question but if i had to pick id say….” orlando asked him many other questions some about the nfl some about his past and future and many about you and your growing family. “okay final question before we start moving! who’s your biggest inspiration? the reason you do what you do?” orlando said as he watched patrick’s face light up.

“oh man you already know my answer. my wife y/n is my biggest supporter and i’m so thankful for her you don’t even know. i love that woman so much man and id do anything for her. also, of course, our son bronze is my mini me and i love him so much. and our baby girl on the way! that’s the reason i do what i do for them.” pat said with a huge smile on his face. “wow man that was really sweet. congrats again bro! now go find your wifey!” he said as pat dabbed him up once again and went downstairs to quickly find you guys before the parade started. when he walked downstairs he found your son asleep with his head resting on your belly and you were also asleep right beside him. you had every right to be exhausted because you’d basically been up the last two days and had only been running on a few hours of sleep. he honestly wished he could’ve been sleeping right next to you two but the parade was about to start. “hey baby..” he said as he gently rubbed your cheek with his thumb “hm…” you said as your stirred awake “oh man i didn’t mean to fall asleep i’m sorry babe…” you said scared you’d missed the parade. “no it’s okay the parades about to start. if you guys want to stay down here that’s fine, i’ll honestly stay with you-“

Sunday 7-

I had 2 drs appointments on Friday, one of which was a CT that was supposed to help figure out why I have so much pain in my right testicle(TMI). It saw nothing, so now we get to keep guessing. Boss told me to "take weekend off", but was doing the morning orders/teams call every day between 5-7, trying to fix stuff and do reconciliations. Glad they trust me with this, but wanna give a 'high five' to my imposter syndrome telling me im gonna get fired any day.

- had to take Henry to urgent care on Saturday, and it turns out he has the start of pneumonia. Wanna give a big shout out to the ARNP who told me she really thought he should just 'ride it out' after 10 days of awful coughing and that their kids 'were still in it after a month'. Yeah, the PA said there was no way he wasn't leaving without antibiotics. Made me feel like an asshole parent... he's on day 2, and already more of himself.

- I went back up there today for me, and I have pretty severe bronchitis. He put me on a different antibiotic, more steroids, refilled my inhaler, and actually listened to me. I mean, I appreciated his care and actual concern. Fun situation: while I was there, a tree fell across the powerlines and tripped off most of town, so they had to go to back-up generators. There was a hall full of people, in a brown out, that the staff were managing like pros. Seriously, we are lucky to have that place.

-after today, I have 4 payments left on my car. 4. I think we will wait till June, and then it's 4 door vehicle time. The lunabug is getting taller, and we want to go see my dad/stepmom in Eastern Wa in something that has space. Everybody and their dog has sent me one of those damn, "interested in a new car loan? It's OK to check your rate, and won't hurt your credit" messages and as soon as my credit union chimes in, I'm sure we'll have something to talk about.

- speaking of something to not talk about, I learned a new term and joined a subredit today called 'dead bedrooms', and yeah, checks out completely. I don't have a therapist yet, so it's not a bad sorce of info or me trying to figure out what I have messed up(apparently, yet again).

- so I had to stop at Walmart(yay for small business destruction by a corporate giant!) for meds/a few groceries and this dingus in an f250 with a WA st license plate celebrating wrestling decided he needed to back into a compact space that was in front of me. He almost hit the first car on the way in(who had to stop and back up), but then he literally backed his 'not a farm truck but a penis extension' into the compact space in front of me, and thanks to me backing up knowing he would have been sticking out if I didn't, he took 3 feet of my spot and his hitch was literally 4 inches from hitting my car. In my space. And that entitled piece of shit didn't even look to see how close he was, he just walked away like he was the king of backing up. Look, I have no problem with wrestlers, but the only one who matters in my life is John Irving, and I think he would have been sensitive enough not to be a shit bird like that! (Part 1 of 2 rant)

- I wanted to share a thought or 2 about something I've seen going about on here for a little bit, because I think i need to say avfew things:

I love that I have so many people I follow here who take stances for the poor, marginalized, POC, and other underrepresented communities-not just in a perfunctory way of saying 'I support you'; but quite a few of you are actually involved in helping bring about change and strengthening communities by being unselfish hands that help heal hearts- you inspire me to be a better person, really. As a person of faith, I see you doing the work that many faith leaders of old spoke of when they talked of when they said, "serve as you have been served, and love as you have been loved"- and seeing that faith in action, it has made me read more about liberation theology and revisit the works of the Rt Rev Bishop Desmond Tutu, Dietrich Bonhoffer, and Dr Martin Luther King jr(and of the later, 'Why I oppose the war in Vietnam' is just as relevant now as it was then). I thank you all for this inspiration and work.

But what I have really come to realize about myself is that I am a person of privilege. I am a white CISmale, straight, accessed a good education at a young age, had a huge extended family that helped raise me when my mom had me at 17, have never had to worry about my gender causing me to be looked at differently, have a good job(for now), have access to clean water, don't live in a food desert, and save for the fact that I understood discrimination at a very young age thanks to my last name, I know that I have lived a mostly privileged life.

But there is one privilege I will never take for granted, and that's voting. And yes, I don't always vote my conscience because at heart, I am a democratic Socialist. But I always vote in my local and state house election because it is in places like your local school board or your city council where you can stop the spread of groups like 'Moms for Liberty' or any of the other neo-fascist organizations that seek to change education or change for the worse how cities deal with their population experiencing homelessness. If I stay home from these elections, I feel like I'm spitting on my great grandmother's grave(whose name I found on the voting roll of the first year that women could vote in Basin, Montana). I feel like I'm not being a good parent or a community member for sticking up for my sons right(or other kids rights) to read books in the school library that have a rainbow(let alone letting kids see representation for non-traditional families that are just the same as everybody else!). So please, if you're feeling crappy about the election, this right here is the biggest way to affect change if you don't know where to start or affirm.there is something you can do to really make a difference. Don't see enough representation of POC on your city council, especially in multi-ethnic communities? Hear a trans voice that would make for a great representative for all people? Fill in those boxes, act locally, and get those folks elected! It works if you work it!

I hear a lot of voices talking about Joe Biden these days, and I feel numb and angry about a lot of things that have been done in our names too: I hate HATE what is happening in Gaza(PBUT); I hate our support of Saudi Arabia and the proxy war in Yemen; Our jaunts in Zaire and Jordan; I hate that we are no closer to universal Healthcare, but I understand that that road and others lead through a Republican congress. I love that child poverty is declining, but programmes that were designed to make this a reality are sunsetting. We have a barbaric and truly archaic policy on immigration, and every time(that's not hyperbole, either), every goddamn time a good bill has been proposed to deal with the issue, the bill has been met by the xenophobic forces on the right and their deep pockets fueling the media and it is destroyed out of fear. And let's not forget student debt forgiveness, the continued dismantling of public education by states like Texas and Florida, Our goal of dismantling of the prison industrial complex, the protection of reproductive healthcare, and the dire need for nationwide police reform.

Yes, our laundry list is long, but it is full of necessary things that need to change or be codified in order for a great change to happen for generations and the continuatonof this great experiment called the U.S.A.

And for all of this and more, I ask: where are the leaders of our generation on this? Where are the ghosts of John Lewis, of Paul Wellstone, and of Shirley Chisholm? Thankfully, our leaders and the ghostsbof their forebearers are there- they are doing their best, and thankfully we(those of us on the progressive side) are represented by POC women who will go to the mat for these issues and more, being inspired by those who came before them. But the more that I think about it, it's time that we offer an ultimatum: we'll give you our voting block, Joe. We'll help bring along the majority of the 9 million new voters who are coming of age this year, so you will have a supermajority with which you can put forth truly transformative legislation. Sure, you'll get us- for now. But if it's businesses as usual, if we are not knocking over the tables of the money changers, and if we are not investing more in programmes of social uplift than we are for the military industrial complex, then we strike. Not in 2028, as one of my absolute favourite people on here suggest, but in 2026, in early summer. Because it is people like me, those of us who have know privilege and continue to know it, who are finally waking up to the truth that we need to do the work. We need to do the heavy lifting. I'm willing to make that offer, and I hope I'm not alone, because there either needs to be a change in the way our political system operates, or we walk away and start our own political entity. I hope I'm not alone in the way I feel, and I hope that we can all make the proposition. We have the leaders, we have the people, now it's about courage. It's time.

But for today, if you can pull the lever for democrats nationally, I totally get it. But consider what I said about voting locally, and in local races and elect people who represent your values. It matters.

ok. i finally finished final fantasy vii rebirth. and i wanna talk about it. i guess you could call this my "review". this post will be vague and spoiler-free unless you click on the "read more".

i do love this game, but it's an absolute mixed bag: story: 10/10 combat mechanics: 9/10 music: 9/10 art direction: 10/10 voice acting (jp): 10/10 open world (non-quest stuff): 4/10 sidequests: 6/10 minigames: 3/10 pacing: 1/10 does this game have flaws? yes. is it as good as the og ff7? no. but is it worth playing? absolutely. i almost feel like this game needs a "cheat sheet" in order to know what parts to play and what parts to avoid. but the good parts (mostly the linear main story stuff) is SO gd good that it's still a must-play game. ok but now i'm gonna go into details (and spoilers) under the rm cut.

so i'll go over some of my scores. firstly, the story is the main reason to play this. they def fuck around a lot, maybe they bait and switch a bit too often, but in the end it makes for a very compelling (or at least interesting) narrative. at first, i was REALLY worried that this game was gonna turn into just some "fan pandering nightmare". and it felt like it was "ff7 without it's claws". esp when everybody was dancing like pop stars and aerith and tifa kept high fiving. but... it def got into that good ff7 trauma we know and love later on. and respect to them for following through with killing aerith. yes, they did what i sorta expected. they teased tifa dying instead, teased aerith NOT dying, and then killed aerith anyway. they EASILY could have left her alive, but they didn't. they kept in the loss angle, which imo is what makes ff7 "ff7". i kinda LOVE that now you have a batshit cloud "seeing" aerith's ghost like it's star wars. and everyone else seems almost... afraid of him. and rightfully so. also i LOVED the zack stuff, even though it was absolutely confusing. i like that they're hinting at zack somehow breaking through his reality into the rm universe. i also like the tease that... idk... will there be another "party" involving zack, kyrie, biggs (if he's still alive or not)? regardless, a great story!

the combat feels mostly improved over rm. the gameplay is fantastic with very few flaws. difficulty is way more balanced than rm, with easy feeling a bit harder and normal feeling less unfair. the only times i felt frustrated by the gameplay was when they laid the "stone" status effect on too thick in parts bc it felt cheap. is it as good as the og combat? no. it still def has the unfun "you desperately need to heal but don't have a charge and the enemy is immune to everything so you just die" thing. but credit where its due, the "free item a few times per battle" materia fixes a lotta those issues.

the music is incredible. the remakes of old songs generally kick ass. some of the new music was pretty good, too. though it gets a point off because a lot of the open world stuff music felt... generic? this is just a situation where the og game's music is TOO GOOD, so the new music will always be fighting this sort of uphill battle.

the art was perfect. just the shading alone... like jesus this game is absolutely beautiful. i took so many goddamn screenshots in game, and they'd often end up looking like key renders, even tho it'd just be a random ss i could take at any angle. this game went above and beyond all expectations.

the voice acting... there was SO MUCH and it was all SO GOOD. tho i did switch to jp voices. bc... in this sorta storytelling, eng just sounds like "drama club"? idk there's a reason the language of origin cast is usually better and that's just how it is. it was perfect.

ok now we're gonna get into some of my issues, starting with the open world. it's not ENTIRELY awful? some was genuinely fun and exciting. but the majority was busywork. like it's so weird when the mainline stuff was so good that this would feel like a shitty ubisoft game. and chadley... fuck that dude. worst character in the series. but for SOME gd reason he ends up talking to you nonstop! i hit the point where i'd wince any time i heard his "radio" turn on. he took an already mediocre open world and made it way worse. fuckin chudly.

the sidequests that weren't just repeated busywork were usually neat. tho some were bad, and others withstood their welcome. the cutscenes/dialogue were usually fun or genuinely great, but they too often came at the cost of wasting your time. they often had shit rewards. and they often incorporated the shittiest "minigames" ever (i'll go into this more in a minute). example: you gotta find ingredients for a character who is learning to cook. but it isn't just going out to find them in the world. no no no. you gotta follow a dog (ftr i love the song) as they slowly meander through a jungle, running into every mob they see. and when you finally get to where the "salt" is, there's a dumb scavenger hunt minigame where you need to find only the 5(?) salt piles that look like the photo. THEN you gotta get on your chocobo and look for mushrooms in a confusing, puzzle-like terrain. which also involves a smelling/follow the direction minigame, which always leads you into mobs. and once you get to each mushroom? there's this STUPID picking minigame. after all that, what reward do you get? an accessory that functions like maybe the worst materia in the game, but also takes up the accessory slot, making it even more unusable. FUCK this game sometimes, lol.

speakin of "fuck this game", the minigames. the 200 minigames (exaggeration, but it really feels like that many). some are genuinely incredible, like the piano minigame? which might be one of my favorite minigames of all time, it's legit THAT good. or "red xiii rocket league". but for every good minigame, there was a mediocre one. and then a terrible one. or one that gets WAY too hard in higher difficulties, like the mog game which starts fun but ends up dogshit and unplayable a few levels in. even tho the good and passable minigames are the majority, the bad minigames? they're maybe some of the worst minigames i've ever played in my goddamn life. like, by design, they're almost anti-fun. i genuinely believe some of the people in charge of the bad minigames should be blackballed from the industry. it's bewildering.

and finally that brings us to the pacing. if you play the game the way they seemingly expect you to play, getting to each new area and sidequesting a bit before continuing on with the story? then you'll spend five hours of mediocre/bad sidequest for each hour of good story. that's even worst if you're a "completionist" at all, you can triple or quadruple that number. we all loved remake because it "expanded the midgar section". we were all hoping they'd do the same with the og open world. the very idea of "big open world, but so much bigger" seemed incredible. but they certainly gave it to us! like they gave us exactly what we said we wanted, lol. when i first started playing rb, i was mostly completing each area. by the second or third area, i was more than 50 hours in. "burnout" is a gross understatement. all the mediocre sidequests combined with the sometimes unplayable minigames ALSO COMBINED with fuckin chudly? and i actually started to hate this game. it made me miserable. i'd get to a new area and just roll my eyes. i'd see a new minigame tutorial pop up and i'd mash "cancel". but wouldn't you know it, once i started skipping most minigames/sidequests? i started havin a ton of fun. turns out this pacing issue can be mitigated a lot. straight up you can ignore most of the open world, and i would actually strongly recommend it. if you DO wanna sidequest a bit between story, i'd say put on a podcast, set the difficulty to easy, and turn the voices down (bc chudly). and don't do everything. oh no. just do enough to unlock the chocobo, to buy the best materia chudly has from that area, and maybe get the summoning. even THAT is probably too much. bc near the end of the game, you get the opportunity to go back and finish a bunch of the stuff you missed the first time. and i actually enjoyed a lotta that stuff then! it was almost like a period of rest and relaxation before the end story stuff.

there are ways, intentional or not, to make this game feel even BETTER than remake. when you skip most of the side stuff, it's paced incredibly well. so it's hard to say it's a bad game. it's actually a really GOOD game with "too much side content". if you treat the open world stuff as just like, a living, detailed world you glance at as you zoom by? it's actually really cool that it's there. i have a couple more pros/cons that i wanna mention, but i don't know where else to put em. like the end fights. thematically, i adored em. in execution, it went on for way way WAY too long. it was like a 15 (yes FIFTEEN) phase fight. on normal, i swear it felt like it took close to two hours, full of unskippable cutscenes and only like one checkpoint. it also takes away al of your team composition too, consistently forcing you to use characters you don't wanna use in the hardest fights in the game. first time, i got through to the very last sliver of final sephiroth's health, only for him to cast some dogshit unblockable "everyone is at 1hp" move at the end. it was ok bc "i'd prepared for this". so i instantly had one character use a gigapotion on the other, who i switched to so they could dodge just to be extra safe. the potion... missed? how? and then before i had a chance to use another, he killed the remaining character. bad game. shit game. but whatever, i hit retry. and i couldn't believe it. it sent me back 7 phases. i was livid. it had sucked the air outta the room. so i said fuck it and restarted the whole fight from the start on easy, because i can't tolerate that kind of scumbag game design that wastes a player's time. and wouldn't you know it, turns out i'd been at the very end of the fight when i died. if the potion had gone off like it shoulda, i would have won, no question. ironically even on easy, that trash situation happened again, but the potion actually went off this time, that was the only difference. but yeah. fuck that fight. it was cooler thematically than the final fight in rm, but it was three times as long, and three times more unfair. fuck whoever designed this fight, they too should be blackballed from the industry, lol.

the last thing i wanna talk about is queens blood. bc my feelings on it are sorta all over. so it starts out kinda boring, like as basic as ff8 triple triad, but wayyy less fun. and you're very limited in who you can play and what cards you can add to your deck. the ai seemingly "cheats", but it's so "linear" that you can win anyhow. and they musta known they'd lose most players, so they legit give you the ability to "flip the game board" at any point in the match and start over with zero punishment. they knew the game wasn't rly fair by design. but it's still good they had the easy retry feature, or they woulda lost me too. the qb experience sorta continues this way until you get to the latter junon area, where suddenly you run into... idk what to call it. intense difficulty spikes? like this dickwad who's playin a rockabilly guitar. FUCK that dude's deck and FUCK his ai. almost single-handedly got me to drop qb altogether. i was absolutely done, had decided qb was just a poorly designed game. thankfully, right after junon they have this big tournament on the boat to costa del sol and it's really fun. you suddenly are getting cards that have actual strategy. and suddenly qb opens up. there was a slight misstep after the boat where they make you play these stupid "puzzle" versions of qb, but you can look up guides and, even if they aren't fun, they help teach you about the game. anyways, i cautiously started playin more matches in later areas (skippin fights that seemed too lame), and before i knew it, i'd kinda fallen in love w the game. it also helped that they started incorporating this fun n bizarre story, too. so idk. i'd say play qb the same way you play the side content, skip a lot of it until you get to the end game? and then go back with cards you bought or won and finish the ones u missed. it's so weird that so much of this game works this way. and i could see someone arguing that "it's just a bad game". because when most games hand you content, even side content, most players expect they should at least give the content a fair shot. it really is kinda poorly executed. but! there are so any ways to mitigate the bad and focus on the good. knowing what i know now, i like this game even more than remake (which i really REALLY love). rebirth was fuckin great. and thank fuck i didn't get spoiled, tho i never wanna hafta try n rush through a 100+ hour open world ever again. i'm really excited for part three, just hopin i can remember to skip over a lotta the optional stuff. also hoping i won't have to buy a fuckin ps6 or whatever just to play it.

Koi to Dangan - By Mino Nozomi (8/10)

I think this one has a pretty big cult following. There's a live action Japanese drama series based on it! The cover art for this looks nice, and the leading man is attractive, but beware. Our female lead suffers from my-eyes-are-so-huge-they-look-alien syndrome. No one else has the huge shoujo eyes, so she kinda stands out in a bad way.

Welcome to the world of Koi to Dangan! It's an unrealistic fantasy land where Yakuza gangsters deeply respect women. Oya, a thirty five year old gang leader, never lets women get involved in his battles. He safely escorts the poor things away from gunfights that he causes. He's a hero. He's a level ten woman respecter. Yes there's some old timey sexism in this. Yes there's a huge age gap in this. Yes, half the chapters are sex scenes. Hear me out. Oya is a yandere. He admits it. He literally says he's "dominant and possessive".

Oya has been in relationships before. Duh. He's thirty five, but he quickly falls in love with a twenty year old college student. He seduces her with great sex, money, and his soft side. Before you keep reading beware. Some of the lines in this are painfully awkward. It's not unreadable though, because the drama is dramatic.

Shit happens in this.

Nobody stands around doing nothing.

This is Yuri. She's a college student. She played lots of sports in high school and she's pretty strong, even though she's skinny. Everybody says she looks like a model. She doesn't date. She wants her man to love her for who she is. She doesn't want to be treated like a trophy.

So later she becomes a housewife of course.

Oya is actually pretty good boyfriend material. He develops feelings for Yuri after she beats up a group of perverts with a chair. He saves her. His manliness attracts her, and they become a couple after she watches him get shot. When she sees him bleed she knows she cares for him. She can't resist him, even though she knows he's dangerous.

Oya isn't just a killer. He's smart. When Yuri gets kidnapped by this awful rapey Russian guy he plans ahead. He uses Russian guy's narcissism to defeat him. Sidenote there's alot of weird fetish stuff in this story. Yuri is in lingerie in every other chapter. I honestly think the male character designs in this are nice. The older women also look nice. Yuri, specifically, looks like a toothpick alien. The way she's designed kinda ruins the scenes she's in. Anyway every man she meets is horny for her, and Oya has to fight them off.

There's a honeymoon arc. We find out that both sides of this couple are pretty damn toxic. They don't need anyone else. They only need each other. Yuri lies to everyone in her life. She says she's not dating anyone, but she moves in with Oya. Her parents don't even know she's dating him. Oyas family also tries to break them up, but it doesn't work.

There are three entire chapters dedicated to an extreme biting fetish/sex stuff. Oya says he wants to see Yuri covered in his marks. She wants the same thing. They spend like an entire day biting each other. It's disgusting, but hey it made me pay attention and erotic mangas are boring 99% of the time.

After the honeymoon there's an Evil Sexy Older Woman arc. Choko has been madly in love with Oya for five years. She decides to use Yuri to get close to him. Unfortunately she's crazy so she goes too far. She wants to hurt Yuri. She comes up with a complicated plan to get Oya's attention, and she buys some rapists to use on Yuri. It's pretty fucked up. The rape almost actually happens, but Yuri isn't completely brain dead. She noticed that Choko is weird, so she calls Oya for help. When Choko lures her out ten bodyguards are waiting in the shadows.

Choko is defeated and out of the way in three chapters.

This is Jin. He's a young hot police officer. He's Yuri's childhood friend, and he's madly in love with her. He's not a moron, so he knows Yuri is dating a criminal. He says he'll marry her and take care of her instead. By the way Yuri has like no dreams and she's shit at everything besides sports and being pretty. She was like...created to be a pretty stay at home wife. That gets super grating.

Jin steals Yuri.

This happens.

also got me considering the logistics of man sized ventilation inside this random house.

but also harkens back to when dean was just trying to keep everyone alive while the other two were hellbent on self destructive revenge. which dean has been selling sam is just like dad and that's why they don't get along since then, but i'm not quite sure i buy that.

Sam: We want to kill this demon. You used to want that, too. Hell, I mean, you’re the one who came and got me at school! (Dean scoffs) You’re the one who dragged me back into this, Dean. I’m just trying to finish it!

that line about being the one to bury you lives rent free in my head.

i mean, i get what he's putting down in regards to his revenge quests, but i don't think there's a lot of similarities outside that. maybe because i like sam and john was a child neglecting piece of garbage. that is definitely a big blinder for me 🥴

i'm sure people enjoyed all that uh, excessive wound fingering and such with sam.

but my issue is those very significant cuts through his forearms and he's all fine and dandy in the next scene. he'd have some wicked number of stitches. and i guess nothing major was cut. just fleshy bits that dean can sew back up? i know, medical accuracy is way way WAY down on the list. but when they focus on the volume of blood he's losing so rapidly, i can't help but start to think of the logistics! anyway, made me think about hannibal's big ass scars in a similar place from matthew brown.

okay but also the kid has a point, of the ghouls were only eating dead people, was it really that important to be killing them?

that turned out a lot more therapeutic than i expected. and somehow i didn't know that fate of adam so i was actually surprised. i always am glad for dean to be working through some of his dad issues. sam is full of questionable choices these days. i'll give it to him, the writers, whatever. he really does sell that he's earnestly truly trying to do the right thing. but everything is a flaming pile of shit anyway.

DEAN I mean, I worshipped the guy, you know? I dressed like him, I acted like him, I listen to the same music. But you were more like him than I will ever be. And I see that now.

SAM I'll take that as a compliment.

DEAN You take it any way you want.

anyway. okay i liked this episode even though i'm nervously looking at the time with how close the end of the season is and here we are off killing some monsters like it's any other week. this felt like an earlier to mid season episode. quality dean and sam time, daddy issues on blast.

Iris, the Greek personification of the rainbow and messenger of the gods alongside Hermes. She is a goddess with few of her own mythologies, and worshiped very rarely, unlike most other gods. Also unlike many of the other gods, she does not have any specific stories involving homosexuality - at least, none that have been preserved in the annals of mythology. She was known as a virgin goddess, and the loyal handmaiden of Hera. Once the primary messenger to the gods, when Hermes came along she took the opportunity to dedicate her service to Hera. In some myths, it was said that she had a husband, Zephyrus - but said husband is known for his unrequited love for the spartan prince Hyacinthus (who was in love with another god, Apollo). Two gods, in love with another, but finding comfort in each other. And perhaps, Iris could be the personification of the Pride rainbow, too.

Since I was a kid, I knew I was "different." I didn't know what words like "bisexual" or "gay" meant, all I knew was that they were things my parents didn't approve of. As I got older, I learned those words, and I learned the awful connotation that came with them. I was called a delinquent, I was told I was greedy, that I was somehow sinful for the way I was born. Things were assumed about me; that I could never be a good father or a significant other, that I was a cheater and/or a whore. I was told a lot of shit, and I believed a lot of shit, but I'm here to tell you know of it is true. We are all so much more than our sexualities! We are your loved ones and your worst enemies. We are sinners and saints. We are fire and ice. We are liars and honest. We are evil and good. We are different and the same. Perfectly contradictory, but perfectly blended together. We are everything, everyone, and anything in between!

Their tiny, punk-rock band hadn’t started out very prideful. How could it be when it consisted of closeted and queer jocks, nerds, and cheerleaders from their high-school? They were first bought together by a non-binary punk transfer student— Dillion. Each song, outfit and neopronoun they shared in secret went against their assigned roles by society; both inside and out of school. Each member’s shared love for music outweighed the other’s socioeconomic stereotypes. However, they insulted each other and got into arguments constantly in the beginning. Multiple times someone had left only to come back a few days later. But the actions that had once held deep shame, denial, and phobias blossomed into confidence and acceptance after all the commonalities and time spent together. It wasn’t strange these days to find them in a group cuddle after practice, at a sleepover, or just hanging out as friends in public. By the time they were in college, their group of outsiders had turned into a close-knit family. For once in the years of all the questions and hiding, the teens found themselves happy they weren’t “normal.” Today was the day they would go public with their band while in front of a live audience. With a shared nod, they stood tall in their poses and bright grins as the instrumental of "Moonlight Densetsu" kicked in. What was there to be afraid of when they had each other?

CELEBRITY BRIDES UNVEILED 2009

TOYAH: When I was a little girl I never dreamt about my wedding. I was a tomboy. All I ever wanted for Christmas and for my birthdays was punch balls, guns, tanks. So weddings just weren't on my agenda at all   In fact, I probably as I got older and got into my teens and became a punk rocker - and then got into my 20s - was quite phobic about thoughts of marriage and quite phobic about the thought of having a permanent partner and having a family. So when I did eventually get married, I shocked everybody I knew I grew up in Birmingham, which was quite a difficult place for a girl to grow up 35 years ago. Women were forced into relationships and I felt forced into being sexually active. An awful lot of the girls that I knew their ideal was to have a child out of wedlock and get the security of a nice apartment and never get married and get a job. I hate to generalise about it, but that is the environment I grew up in Because I grew up in that environment I was ferociously against relationships. So I got involved in punk and then in music around the age of 14. I knew that I was always going to be very different  

I started making my own clothes and started to look very punky. I was very pre-punk. I was influenced by a film called The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which was pre-punk. So I was walking around Birmingham with peacock coloured hair about two years before punk rock ever appeared 

My husband and I should have met at least five to six years before we actually did because we had the same management company. The very first time I met him was 1983, where we shared a taxi to an award ceremony together. He sat on the front seat and I was on the backseat with my manager - our manager. He was very quiet and he had these little round glasses   I just took the mickey out of him from the Kings Road to the Grosvenor Hotel, which was about half an hour trip. I can remember my manager just being flabbergasted that I had the guts to just provoke this man for half an hour and I'd only just met him I didn't know that he is in the Top 10 of the world's most famous guitar players. He's a man called Robert Fripp and 1983 he was just like God in the music world. He worked with David Bowie he produced Peter Gabriel. He'd been on Blondie’s his albums - so he was a megastar. The picture behind me (above) is of me and Princess Michael of Kent, laughing at someone joking. And that someone is Robert Fripp, my husband    This is the first moment I really got to talk to him because Princess Michael wanted a photograph taken with him and me. That picture appeared in a very famous newspaper the next day with Robert cut out of it, because Robert was never really a celebrity, but I was and that was 1983 - three years before I married Robert So we didn't meet again until two years later, when we met at exactly the same award ceremony. He said to me would I visit him at his home in Dorset and make an album with him, a charity album for children's school in America and I said yes    But what I didn't know, and this is very much how my husband works - when we met again in 1985, which would have been around June - July he'd already said to his friends in America, where he lived in New York, he said "I'm wiping the diary clean for the next three weeks, because I'm going to meet my wife". So we'd already had a kind of intuition about this   

Then the following week after we met and had this discussion, I went down to work with him on this album for a week. He said “will you marry me?“ and “I said it was a bit quick, isn’t it?” He said "no, I know you're my wife. I've been planning this for the last month." And I kind of went "OK, well let's get to know each other"     So I actually moved to Washington for three months to the school where we were raising the money for, where he taught, because he also teaches guitar. I went there and taught drama for three months and that was our courtship (Shows the bouquet) I still have my wedding bouquet, which is hard to believe. This dear thing is 22 years old. We keep it in our front room. It was yellow, originally. I adore yellow flowers. So we had yellow roses, yellow Carnations and then Lily of the Valley     This is probably the most expensive thing about the wedding - the Lily of the Valley on May the 16th - we're already out of season. So we had to have them brought in from Holland and it wasn't cheap. But I did a little drawing of what I wanted and a friend went along to a florist and got it organised. And miraculously, we have managed to keep it I organised the wedding. My husband didn't want anything to do with any of those traditions other than the church ceremony. So he participated in the rehearsal. We married in St. Mary & Cuthberga & All Saints Church in Witchampton in Dorset where his father was buried, and I think his grandparents were buried     We did the rehearsal but that was about as far as it went. I bought the wedding rings, I bought the wedding dress. I cooked all the food for the wedding party. He didn't want children at the wedding. He didn't want any of my friends at the wedding but I insisted on close family Basically I realised that it was nerves. He can't bear big events. I have never had a party since I've been married because he can't bear those kinds of events, which is unusual but bearable. So he didn't want music at the wedding. It was a silent wedding         The extraordinary thing was it was on May the 16th 1986 and it’d rained for a month but the moment we arrived at the church, the sun came out and streamed through the windows exactly where we stood at the altar

(Shows the hat) I had the veil made. My sister-in-law had to organise it so no one knew I was having a wedding veil made. That went over the front, it's very brittle and delicate. You've got to remember it's 22 years old, and this big flower went at the back. Now these are back in again today. Back then this was 1986, big things were in. But seriously that went out in the 90s big time. I suppose you would see that in Sex And The City today We managed to have the reception with very close family. And then the precious day ended and that evening and the next day we were hounded. We were chased everywhere by journalists in cars. Eventually we drove off to a Franciscan retreat in Sand Creek in Cornwall, who hid us and we hid that for a week and they blessed our wedding (Shows the garter) This is the garter I wore for something blue and I wore it on my left leg I think, I could be wrong. But there's only two legs to choose from. It was a gift from my husband's best friend. They had it made by a local lacemaker in Dorchester. My husband now keeps this on his desk in his office.      (Shows the dress) Because Robert and I were getting married secretly I couldn't order a wedding gown. Because I was paying for everything and basically was not interested in a huge expensive public wedding I had to really ponder of how I was going to be a bride I thought OK, I'll just go buy a ball gown and it was really hard for me to shop at this time because I was incredibly well known. I couldn't go anywhere on my own. So I knew of a kind of debutante ball shop in a town called Windborne in Dorset. I went there pretending I was going to a ball and I bought the only ball gown that would fit me       That was a little pink organza Bo Peep dress, a family dress. I didn't want a traditional white wedding dress which was lucky. This is actually a little ball gown, very Bo Peep, off the shoulder puffball sleeves that just rested on the upper arm. Little kind of gatherings at the bottom. So it's very feminine, very pretty indeed I think marriage is cyclical. I think everything in life is cyclical. You go through cycles. thoughts on the R vs A stan debates

I see Rhae/nyra and Alicent as equals in their sins ultimately - not the specifics, but the capacity for doing wrong (and for wanting to do good) and that they both keep sinning against each other and then trying to make it right at just the wrong moment, when the other one is most angry and nursing her wounds.

People are valid to have a preference for one over the other or dislike one or the other, but there’s this “Cinderella and her wicked stepmother” headcanon some stans of the book seem attached to that the R focused parts of the fandom keep trying to push that doesn’t work for the tv canon. It flattens and erases the complexity of both characters IMO. Because then A stans try to similarly flatten her and it gets very intense back and forth. The book has no interiority, is a faux history told entirely from a pov centuries removed from events, of course their tv inner lives are and should be more complicated than that?

The way Twitter fandom does it, there’s this endless argument over who is the Madonna and who is the Villain and it’s flattening both women: “Madonna” is not actually a compliment and it requires doing a lot of twisting of their characters for people to shove their “fave” into the role of perfect mother goddess.

Neither of them are, that’s what makes them good lead characters?

For one example: Emma has outright said they played the lead up to the knife scene as R directing aggression and a real desire to do real harm at A and R’s half-siblings.

So, in that pivotal scene, we have BOTH R using her status as heir and favoritism from her father to demand her little brother be tortured AND Alicent demanding her step-grandson's eye be taken.

I love them BOTH. That is messy af. And fantastic? Let women be MESS. And people of their culture and time period, where those are things you can actually demand if you have their respective forms of status.

That moment sticks with me because, as I see it, that was the final moment where they put the wounds in their own kids/half-siblings that led to the war.

At a certain point one stops being solely an abused child and has the choice whether to become an adult who abuses kids in their family or not .

*Both of them made the wrong choice* and wrote the future in blood IMO.

Am I saying the equation of wrongs done perfectly balance on both sides? No. I think that's a useless discussion people have been having for months now. There’s no end to it. It cannot be finally resolved.

I've seen people screaming back-and-forth for months and what I came to is this idea of them as equals, narratively speaking. Because they are narrative creatures, not real people, and it doesn't matter. Nothing will be gained by one side “winning.” Even if they were real and went to family therapy (...or couples therapy) the focus wouldn't be on tallying up.

I see it as this story of 3 generations where each one wrongs the next and then becomes adults who do their own wrongs in turn. With the time between "fuck around" & "find out" getting shorter each time until the 4th Gen who mostly don't even get to live to adulthood & make their own mistakes.

Otto and Viserys 100% started it. But along the way, carrying those soul wounds, R & A become adults who continued it, writing soul wounds into the next generation of kids, and did their part writing the bloody future Viserys and Otto got started. And some of their kids are just old enough to make some awful adult decisions to bring it all home so the 4th generation doesn't even get to have a peaceful childhood.

The only 100% innocent victims are the 4th Gen kids (all the ones who were under 10 when the war started including R's youngest kids and I would say I include Lu/cerys as well since he hadn’t fully become an adult when Aemond killed him). Everybody else is varying levels of involved in the shitshow IMO.

Anyway, all of that is why I find the entire debate irrelevant to me at best and, at worst, a source of a lot of hot takes that seem to want to vilify or Madonna-ify one or the other and I don’t agree with vilification or Madonna-ification of either.

Obviously what started my Maria hate was because of her actions involving malex but since apparently to some that is the only reason to hate her, here are my reasons to hate her outside of malex

Maria has a high horse attitude where she acts likes shes better than everybody for no reason at all

She went to the funeral of someone she hates dead husband just for a relationship status

Flirted with Michael at the reception like it was a regular event( not knowing everything still, only knowing his brother in law just died and Isobels husband died)

Makes it seem like Rosa's death was worse for her than it was for Liz

Flirts with every guy on the show, including the openly out gay guy

Belittles, insults Micheal constantly, behind his back in front of him, treats him like a dog in training.

Treats Isobel awful for 2 seasons straight until she finds out their related, and then gets upset she's not included in pod squad stuff, and her only reason for her hatred towards Isobel is because Rosa was upset with Isobel and instead of trying to find out why, she hated her for 12 years straight

Forces her best friends to tell her their secrets then gets upset about them

Finds out her best friends boyfriend is dead and abandons her for 5 months then finally talks her after boyfriend comes back to life.

Finds out her boyfriends brother died and abandons him and starts calling him a Chad and ignores him for 5 months

Finds out her other best friend came back from the dead after 10 years and abandons her for 5 months

Did all the 3 things from above because to her, her friends having a secret that was none of her business was way worse than anything else going on with her friends.

Only talked to Alex again because she needed help

Says her mom kept secrets for a reason and she needs to respect her moms privacy but got upset because she didn't know everyone's secrets.

Uses Micheals abandonment issues against him, promising to never leave him then does 3 weeks later

She uses her best friends love life's as entertainment

She guilts her friends for not being their for her when they were going through traumatic life stuff

Nearly killed max by jumping off a roof so she can save someone else( still doesn't make sense)

Yelling at Micheal for not letting her die(wtf)

Scolds Isobel non stop even when Isobel is helping her and most of the time it's for no reason at all

Bosses everyone around for literally no reason at all

Scolds Kyle for helping innocent people because it could put him in danger even tho she's been doing the same thing

Throwing herself in danger all the time, then complaining about being in danger and scared

Judges Lindsey for flirty with men and then proceeds to flirt with the same man

Throws a tantrum that she can't get laid

Telling Isobel that her not being able to get laid is worse than Isobels fear of losing her family

Has sex in a public area/ a church camp lounge but still scolds Isobel for talking about sex in that same area

She can't appreciate a damn thing those people do for her, they literally risk their lives for her and then she still questions them none stop.

Tbh season 1 Maria was ashamed of her mom

Make everyone feel like they owe her because she sacrificed her life to help her mom

Acted like she could be friends with Kyle but Alex couldn't

Constantly makes the selfish choice but scolds other people for doing it too

Never even told her mom she was dating someone

Completely ashamed of Michael

Wanted to be non-exclusive with Michael

Got pissed he kissed another girl when they weren't together

Treats her gay Best friend like a pet

Guilts him for being gay and not being in love with her

Ignores Alex's sexuality on multiple accounts

Lies straight to Alex face about respecting his feelings and not pursuing Micheal

Never actually apologizing for betraying their friendship

Ignores Alex's feelings on multiple accounts

Pressures him into a sexual situation he clearly wanted no part of

Pursued a relationship with her best friends love of his life and didn't apologize once

I'm sorry but also because of malex

She lacks empathy when it comes to partners and friendships

She faces no consequences for her actions, not once. She's forgiven or there's the excuse that's she been through a lot she deserves to be self for once. So many of those characters have been through so much worse than her and not one of them have gotten a pass.

She also only has a "sense" of "humor" to cover up everything else and her outfits are cute and pretty.

In season 3 she's combined with how she was in season 1 and 2. They made her somewhat caring but doubles on her selfish behavior and her self-centered attitude

Once again I'm sitting here, like any other evening since the last few weeks.

I try to just avoid everybody because my heart cant take any more at the moment, but everybody seems to follow me just to take their anger out on me.

The problems I have just keep piling up, I dont even know what to work on first.

I want to visit grandma everyday, i know she doesnt want to die alone, but I cant bare it.

I love her so much and I owe it to her but my heart feels like it tearing out of my ribcage.

Grandpa believes he will die before her and the thought pulls the floor from under me.

I know he has had a lot of health issues lately but I didnt think...

They are my world, my safe place.

I cant bare to think about losing them.

Not so close together, not now, not ever.

But its part of life.

I know.

And all things that would usually distract me from that pain just pain me even more.

Because everything needs to happen at once.

I used to seek comfort in my animals.

But my bunny died this summer and my cat now has dementia and hates me all of a sudden.

Its rare she wants me near her.

I used to talk to my friends, I still do but I cant talk honestly.

Not sober.

And even drunk, its not the whole truth.

Because I dont want to burden anybody when they have just as many problems.

And then I find myself, sitting in the cold rain, listening to them and feeling my heart rip even more.

The words want to come out.

But I wont let them slip.

Pathetically enough, I'm still in love with him.

Despite receiving no interest shown towards me.

Despite him showing clearly how utterly stupid he finds me.

Despite not having exchanged a single word for almost 5 months now.

Despite being told and knowing it would never work.

He likes pretty girls, and I am not that.

He was in love with my best friend and she is the polar opposite of me in terms of appearence.

Its so pathetic but thats quite fitting for me.

I'm stuck in this feeling.

Wishing he'd be here, hug me close and just tell everything will be ok.

But it wont happen.

My mom is as bad as always, makeing me feel awful whenever she can.

Makeing fun of my feelings, destroying my comfidence day by day.

Reminding me that I'm not enough for her.

And I know when she is feeling low again and is deep in her manic depression, I will be the one caring for her.

But whenever I'm low or sick, I get even more attacked and hurt by her.

Because I cant do everything she wants me to.

And my dad?

He was honest to me, confessing he had a mental breakdown or even suffers from burnout.

Because even the one person in my life I counted on, knew was strong crumbles at some point.

The approaching death of my grandma pulls him back to 10 years agon, when his mother died.

And thats what broke the great wall of built up feelings and trauma.

I cant bare to see him so empty, broken and hopeless.

I want to help him so badly, but how does one help another when they cannot even help themselfes?

A Million Little Things‘ endgame is in sight.

TVLine has learned exclusively that the ABC drama’s creator, DJ Nash, is crafting the series’ upcoming fifth season as its last.

ABC is not commenting for this story, but we’re told the decision to bring the show to a creatively satisfying conclusion was made mutually between Nash, the network and ABC Signature/Kapital Entertainment. (Here’s a list of other TV series we suspect are heading into their final seasons.)

A Million Little Things‘ Season 5 renewal last May came down to the wire, despite the fact that the Season 4 finale ended with a doozy of a cliffhanger involving James Roday Rodriguez’ cancer-battling Gary.

“There’s no question we were a bubble show,” Nash acknowledged to TVLine at the time. “But everybody creatively at ABC was so supportive and wanted to see [a fifth season] happen. And we knew that if it didn’t happen, our fans would be like, “You can’t end a series like that!”

In Season 4, A Million Little Things averaged 4.1 million total weekly viewers and a 0.7 demo rating (with Live+7 playback) — down 20 and 30 percent from its Season 3 tallies. Out of the eight dramas ABC has aired last season, it ranked No. 6 in audience and tied for fifth in the demo. It did, though, enjoy the second-best DVR bump of any ABC series.

A Million Little Things will end with its upcoming Season 5 , ABC announced Monday, confirming TVLine’s exclusive report from August.

The final season will premiere on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 10/9c.

“I know seeing this show end may be sad for many people (especially my mom who watches live every week), but I always knew I wanted to follow these friends for five seasons and leave them when the time was right,” series creator DJ Nash said via statement. “When we started making our show, I never could have imagined this incredible community of ‘Millionaires’ who would come together and not only watch, but also share with each other their personal struggles, their pain and ultimately their true grit. I am both honored and humbled by all of it and am so in awe of the incredible actors, writers, directors and crew who lend their talent to make our show.”

He continued: “I am also so grateful that ABC now makes mental health awareness one of the top issues for which it advocates. [Executive producer] Terrence [Coli] and I can’t wait for the Millionaires to watch what we have planned for our final season.”
