PSA Sherlock Holmes is already Public Domain. (in 2022)

Edit: Happy Public Domain Day / Happy New Year.

In the UK and many other countries all of the canon has been public domain for decades. On January 1st 2023 aka Public Domain Day "The Adventure of the Veiled Lodger" and "The Adventure of Shoscombe Old Place" last two Sherlock Holmes works by Doyle still protected by copyright enter the public domain in the United States. The consequences of that are as follows: you can now adapt, rewrite, remix, make derivatives of those last Casebook stories and any elements within. That is it.

The Conan Doyle Estate Ltd has lost lawsuits over the fact that Sherlock, the characters, and any and all elements of the books in the public domain can be used to create works.

You can right now legally make, sell, publish derivative work of Holmes stories (except the last 2), make original stories or any and all characters (not introduced in the last 2 stories) and have them interact in any way, shipping to your hearts content

You cannot now nor in January legally make derivative works of the still copyrighted adaptation, original material from the BBC, Guy Ritchie, Enola Holmes, pastiches or any other source is protected.

Autistic people who have sensory issues so like sensitive to sound, who have been to music concerts of a band you really like could you enjoy the concert or did you get overwhelmed? I really really love sleeptoken and they're a big part of why I'm still alive and I have to see them live i love them so much but I'm scared my sensory issues get in the way and I don't want to wear headphones because I don't want the members to think I'm not enjoying the music bc I enjoy their music so much I have a huge appreciation for it. I love their music so much it's like a religious experience for me, music in general feel like a religious experience to me but even more so Sleep token.

I just woke up in the middle of the night and im basically having a panic attack i don't know why i just feel sick and i have a sleeptoken comfort playlist and its helping me. They are my comfort although sometimes how much I love them can get overwhelming which I think a lot of autistics can relate with their special interest. Guys I'm so desperate I truly hope I would be able to enjoy a concert I want to cry

Also can we agree that actually the whole 'savant syndrome' thing is kinda fucked? Like yes, it's a real thing, but its linked with autism so much to the point where not being a genius makes people feel like they're 'not autistic enough'? I've already seemingly failed at being a normal person, the last thing I need is to fail at being autistic too.

My level of investment in a hyperfixation/ special interest of mine is a really good indicator of my mental well-being. That being, when I’m in burnout or heavily depressed I find very little interest in it and tend not to have a particular interest on my mind. But when I’m doing better mentally overall, and just in general feel happier, I am very active in creation of artwork and engagement in whatever interest I’m currently pursuing, and older interests I’ve neglected return. (For example- I’ve been reviving my reptile/amphibian/invertebrate/generally less loved animals special interest as of late and it’s coincided with a lot of happiness.)

This starts a sort of positive feedback loop, wherein I feel less drained and sad and therefore can engage in my interests, and then engaging in those interests makes me more feel energized and happy.

So in my class our icebreaker was write a fun fact about yourself on a slip of paper and put in a bucket as she will draw it out and guess who

Simple right?

Well, I wrote that my favorite show is bobs burger

She pulled it out and forgot what bobs burger was and kinda fumbled around

And some people were laughing at the note like it was stupid

And it hurt my feelings cause that's my special interest, I know everything there is to know about it

And they laughed at it

It's been hours and I'm still upset

Edit:someone told me i can't just be upset that someone doesn't like the same stuff as me. It's not that, I'm upset cause they had to go and be hurtful about it. You don't have to like it, but you shouldn't be mean about it

one thing I love about sharks is how so many of them look like they know Absolutely Nothing, or know Way Too Much

like, this is a Great White Shark, a Tiger Shark, and a Whale Shark. these dudes have mii music playing in their head 100%.

Nurse Sharks and Bull Sharks, on the other hand? know Way Too Much.

these dudes know the secrets to the universe, and it gives them anxiety. instead of mii music, these dudes have Flight of the Bumblebee playing in their head. absolute chaos

and somehow, I relate to all of them. both Head Full and Head Empty.

Maybe I’m biased (my user obvi) but I think Adrienette being first official ship was super smart and it makes the most sense. As we’ve seen In past reveal episodes (not including oblivio which I will get to later) usually Adrien dates Marinette AFTER he finds out she’s ladybug. Now personally I think he has always loved Marinette, and just not realized it. But if they were to do a reveal pre-Adrienette, he wouldn’t love Marinette for Marinette, he would love her for ladybug. And same thing on ladybugs side. She wouldn’t date Chat Noir for himself, she would date him because he’s Adrien. When we start with Adrienette and then proceed to other love square ships once they either reveal at the same time or one reveals to the other, we can see them love both sides and not just one. This is, still considering the fact that it was very obvious Adrien had feelings for Marinette pre-statue scene and just was in denial because he also loved ladybug. We see a prime example of this in oblivio, which at least to me is obvious foreshadowing of the order the love square will become official in. We start with adrienette and then end with ladynoir (with Marichat and ladrien moments post-ladynoir). If you want a more deep explanation on why I think this then I will be ECSTATIC to do so. To me, Adrienette is the healthiest way to start once they reveal, and simply makes the most sense (not to mention they’re SUCH A CUTE COUPLE GHFHFH) thank you for coming to my Ted talk 🤭
