I'm asking autistics and other ND people mainly, people who work full/part time: how do you all cope with burnout? Like I don't know how to get more rest, I have problems sleeping, I can barely take care of myself, 0 motivation. At this point I can barely make myself go to work. How do you lot cope?

You can't describe Autism and ADHD with one scene-
Tumblr media
Mabel: Don't you worry, bro bro. With your brains and my laser focus, there is literally nothing that can distract us from... Did you hear that?

IT'S WHOLESOME SONIC AND TAILS WEDNESDAY! 🥰
Today I'd just like to recognize the absolutely awesome ADHD/Autism solidarity between Sonic and Tails. They are my favorite ADHD/Autism duo EVER and they are just so sweet and supportive of each other and such perfect brothers.
I specifically wanted to point out how they are aware of each other's Special Interests and find ways to support each other
Example 1: Sonic realizing Tails is about to go into full-blown Special Interest Chaos Mode over finding an entire robot society (Scrapnik Island comic miniseries)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just look at that endeared big bro grin ☺️
Example 2: Tails using his special interest (science and technology) to support Sonic's special interest (Gotta Go Fast). (Sonic Boom episode "Alone Again, Unnaturally")

Giant slingshot? Sounds safe
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rocket rollerskates (always wanted a pair of those!)

Moving sidewalk

The Ultrasonic Speed Amplifier!
Also may I point out the hyperfocusing here. I'm willing to bet none of them have taken a break except the time it takes to get Sonic bandaged up after each failed attempt 🤣
I'm sure there's tons of other examples but these are the first ones that came to my head. Anyway I love these bros and they are such great representation and have the best dynamic 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Reading again for the ineffablenth time.
Hits different after season 2.
I needs a hard copy. I needs it. Weird that I have the beautiful TV Companion but I don't have a hard copy of my favoritest book of all time.

Dion: Had to mask autism vibes Frazie: Had to mask autism vibes Razputin: Autism vibes and the others are too young to tell
Oh and Augustus gives AuDHD (AUtism+Adhd) vibes but the adhd part may be me projecting
It's too early for coherent headcanons fghjgjhkjghkljkjkhl
Oh for SURE all the Aquatos are Autistic/ADHD/AuDHD 100%.
I think there's something real about older children being more pressured to mask, to behave, to be "good role models" and "mature".
Raz was also discouraged from his special interest. They might consider it a phase and expect him to mature and stop.
Dion's muttering is a replacement for a vocal stim he was told to stop. He rocks back and forth on his heels when he doesn't stop himself.
Gus understands the sensory sensitivities his kids have. The circus onesies are made of a soft fabric so no matter what rough patched clothes they need to wear over them, they don't have to feel the itchy fabric on their skin. Nona was the one who came up with that for Augustus when he was a kid!
Frazie is trying to mask HARD. She likes to juggle things and toss them, especially when they have great textures, which plays into her enjoying knife throwing.
If they get therapy and can learn to unmask it would take a big shift in the family dynamic but be so worth it. Their stress levels would go down, they could communicate better, it would be healthy for everyone!

Rating unconventional fidget toys
Because I feel like it :3
Butterfly knife (trainer) (included picture just in case someone doesn't know what it is)
Tumblr media
6/10 - Good for cool little tricks that scratch the itch in my brain, but very bulky and annoying sometimes, hard to focus on using it and whatever I'm currently doing, and constantly pinching or injuring myself with it on accident. Mostly should only be used to show off to others, not much else. 2. Empty pill Bottle - 8/10 I actually really like this one, I like spinning the cap on the bottle back and forth. It's really nice for a simple fidget. 3. Metal Knitting needles that I never use for knitting (cus i don't know how :3) - 4/10 These are something that I rarely use, but when I do grab them out of curiosity, I just hold them like chopsticks and tap them together. A nice 'clink' noise, but if I try to pick anything up with them, it doesn't work. They're very slippery. 4. Paintbrush - 9/10 I think I like this one a lot. It's soft and the bristles are very satisfying to mess with. I like to "paint" my hand with it, just without paint. Its very good for cleaning excess debris and dust off of my laptop as well :) 5. Washi decorative tape roll - 3/10 Now, this rating is purely opinion. It functions like a fidget ring mostly, but it's very bulky compared to one of those and tends to get annoying after a while. I get bored with it easily. 6. Staple Remover - 9/10 I just like to click it together, and that can be fun. I tend to snag my fingers on it tho, but that doesn't happen often. Let me know in the tags about any other unconventional fidget toys you guys might use! A lot of the stuff I use is just stuff at my desk.

Is it an autistic or an adhd thing where I get tired enough to sleep so I decide to sleep, but I can't sleep if I'm hungry, but I'm already fixated on the idea of sleeping so the need for food is upsetting and angering, and I don't know what to eat so I just sit on the couch angry, wanting to sleep, and not eating?

I would like to fistfight whoever said that all introverts are fall people. I’m an introvert and a spring person, and spring is as much of an introvert season as fall. The cold weather + sun or warmer weather + gloomy sky combo, the flowers starting to bloom, the snow melting in patches and the grass peaking out of it, the days getting longer and longer…
Or maybe i started wearing my spring coat and the texture made my autistic brain happy.

“My mother has adhd with autistic tendencies. One of my brothers is Audhd and the other has autistic tendencies. My youngest sister is autistic the other one has adhd tendencies. I’m autistic with adhd tendencies. My aunt has adhd, my uncle is audhd and his wife is probably autistic. My grandfather is audhd.”
My roommate, who’s met all but two of these people: “did you, did you only just realize this. Did you not know most your immediate family is neurodivergent?”

In the last 6 months, I've noticed more and more of my "quirky" traits being things for autism or ADHD. I talked with my sister after taking one of those clinical tests that give you a starting point to a diagnosis and she has thought I'm autistic for the past 3 years. For context, she is a SLP that specializes in children. She sees all sorts of neurodivergencies.
Everytime I see something that likes "this is super ADHD!" Like being forgetful, I doubt myself and this path. And then I see something about autism not having this issue or have advanced hyperfixated memories. I remember *everything*. I also hop from task to task and have a bunch of half completed things to do.
It's frustrating to try and figure out is it the tism or the adhd that's in control rn.
