༘⋆ - WEDNESDAY: no one in this world could be a better representation of the scorpio sun other than wednesday addams. i am on cloud nine to have it be canon, as her birthday is set to be november 13th in the series. although, i must add that i suspect her being a scorpio rising too, as her love for all things black and gore and her overall appearance is definitely a dead giveaway. the sun and rising conjunction indicates that her public image is a reflection of who she really is - she might have her guards up, but she’s not masking her truest self. in other words, wednesday accurately presents herself to the world. wednesday, as most scorpios, is quick witted yet cold in most situations. she is not easily swept off her feet, but as any other water sign, she’ll be absolutely devoted to you once you earn her trust.

༘⋆ - ENID: our lovely werewolf girl is definitely giving me cancer sun vibes - she might second guess her decisions or be overally clumsy, but you can’t deny that she is the mom friend. enid is a ray of sunshine - she is quite talkative and sociable, and once you two click - she’ll be your bestest bud. she’ll paint your nails, make you snoods to match and banter about the latest nevermore drama. not only that, we have to remember that cancer is ruled by moon - which is something that makes quite a lot of sense and is generally significant to her, considering her outcast species.

༘⋆ - XAVIER: the one and only resident tortured artist is definitely a sagittarius man in my eyes. he seems like quite the jokester and the type of person whose flirting style is roasting & sarcasm. he’s all over the place and quite nosy, giving advices left & right and wanting to be a part of every major event, whether that be you hunting down the hyde by its footprints or visiting the gates’ house. that, however, also indicates the presence of his caring nature, and in some cases, possessiveness. that brings me to the point where i state that he gives me scorpio venus vibes. i mostly see a confirmation of that in his thing for ‘tragic goth girls with funeral parlor fashion sense’. his sag sun also indicates his creativity and love for all things art, since sagittarius, just like the artsy sign pisces, is ruled by jupiter. xavier is very blunt and will not hesitate to call you out on your bs, especially if it involves his ego being hurt (very fire sign man of him). under the facade of the whole ‘life of the party’ persona, there is a darker side to him, which his friend ajax briefly mentions.

༘⋆ - AJAX: when it comes to our stoner boy ajax, there is no doubt that this gorgon guy is a taurus. he is down to earth, laid back and is a person of warm nature. he is basically the epitome of ‘no thoughts, just vibes’. with taurus being ruled by venus, ajax shows up as loving and caring person when it comes to both lovers, friends and family. the stoner boy is a dependable and trustworthy friend, and we certainly see it in course of his conversation with enid, where he reveals xavier’s ‘darker side’ yet still highlights his devotion to the friend. but sadly, as a good old taurus sun, he doesn’t really take hints.

༘⋆ - BIANCA: bianca is unarguably one of the best examples of a female leo sun. this girl is always driven by the exciting feeling of competition and the desire to win, but also has a darker side to her which haunts her on a daily basis. apart from most fire signs, or even leo’s neighboring sign virgo, leos tend to have a lot of insecurities that they compensate for by being arrogant & unapologetically extra. this clearly explains bianca’s behavior, and therefore in my story, she is definitely not the villain. we see that her personality traits were also influenced by her mother’s toxicity, which makes me believe her moon could definitely be in scorpio. her siren powers are both a blessing and a curse - with the help of those, she was able to siren her way into the academy, leaving the toxic environment of ‘morning song’, but when it comes to her platonic or romantic relationships, her powers are often frowned upon.

༘⋆ - TYLER: weirdly enough, when speaking of tyler, i must say that he could be a capricorn sun. moreover, i will have the nerve to say that his sun is definitely in opposition to his moon, thus being in cancer, because it would make perfect sense to me. these two placements indicate his emotional ups and downs and the struggles of his wants and needs. coming from my personal observations, tyler’s mental health state, as well as the neediness and (at some point) fear of abandonment when it comes to romantic relationships, could be easily explained by his sun and moon sign. the teenage boy is always overwhelmed by his thoughts and feelings and is unable to comprehend them. therefore, he is prone to manipulation, and in this case, ms. thornhill’s influence. it is also important to note that such aspect shows a complex relationship with a mother figure, as well as the absence of the father to some extent. that is why i do believe he has this particular astro combination, which gives him a mixture of personalities.

༘⋆ - EUGENE: to end off and complete the holy water sign trinity, it must be said that eugene would probably be a pisces. that kid is absolutely wholesome and has to be protected by all costs, but he completely denies it as he puts his life in danger, striving to accomplish a heroic mission of investigating the hyde’s lair. with his exaggerated sense of a fairy tale romance and never-ending attempts of finding his one true love who would appreciate him for who he is, i suppose his sun sign is conjunct his venus. his genuine friendship with the scorpio sun wednesday could easily explain my choice for his sun sign, as, speaking from experience once again, i am the number one stan of scorpio x pisces friendships.

He’s a high school history teacher, teaching monster history. His students love him. He’s semi-strict and deadpan, but he genuinely cares for them and his sarcastic attitude gets a lot of laughs out of them.

He goes all out with his outfits, having a gothic style that he absolutely loves. He finds joy in dressing up, and it’s jarring to see him in his lounging clothes.

Him and Midas were really struggling with their relationship in their universe, but have since been working on their relationship and are growing closer than ever.

He’s been learning the piano in private, he’s actually quite good.

He loves flowers with dark petals - especially dark purple.

He likes to experiment with eyeliner. Please let him sit in your lap and do your makeup he has so many ideas for you-

So I assume you know astro got explodificated, right? Well that also resulted in chronic pain. Actually on the side of him without the scars. This is cuz he fell onto his arm, and while he didn't break anything he did mess smthn up in his joints, and some days some really basic tasks become near impossible for him due to the pain searing through his arm and his shoulder. Yes this is projection cuz of my messed up knee that often makes walking near impossible but i still am forced to do it.

Astro Boy HC: Tenmas drive to build a god

Reupload of of my personal explanation/hc how Tenmas drive to build a god formed and evolved over the years. Feel free to discuss. It is always stated Umataro Tenma wants to build a god. How did that wish arise? What is a god? Why does he want to build a god?I want to begin with his view on robots as a child and how it evolved over the years. The youngest we see him, next to Atom: The Beginning, is in one episode of Astro Boy 2003 where he has created a Teddybear-Robot to have someone to talk to. Tenma asks him "Little Bear, you're my Friend, right?". At this moment in the story Tenma & Ochan still view robots as friends. We can assume that Tenma has no friends nor family member he can talk to so he is pretty lonely. Being a genius and thus different from the norm increases the feeling of isolation because you aren't able to connect with your agegroup as well since your interest and development simply differ a lot. Being mixed race (OG Manga) isn't easy in japan as well. The bear also agrees with everything he says, maybe giving him the needed approval, someone he can vent to. A kind of substitude for a feeling no one in his surrounding gave him. At this point we have a little timeskip right to the tragedy which cost his parents lifes. If my calculations are correct he was 14 years old when it took place. We see him running towards the burning building, screaming at a fire fighter while grabbing his collar that his parents are still in there. The man is telling Umataro that they'd need a superman to get inside and save them. Umataro is helpless, he can only watch his parents die. Him reacting agressivly back then and throughout the series, trying to keep everything together,  gives me the impression that he avoids showing vulnerability in form of emotions besides anger, even when he is sad, overwhelmed etc. and tries to keep himself together or shuts down. The classic "Boys don't cry" attitude. It was most likely, next to socienty, enforced by a person whose opinion he valued. Maybe by one of his parents. Him screaming at the fire fighter is just him feeling helpless and expressing it through anger. A trait he still has as an adult. He was probably rediculed for showing weakness in the past, feels ashamed of it now and has not developed healthy coping mechanisms. As a side note: While charcteristics of ones personality are inherited (nature) they get suppressed, enforced and formed by the outside world (nurture). Both play a large role when it comes to character development.

The firefighter mentioning they'd need a superman to save his parents gives him the idea to build a powerful robot who could prevent tragedies.Shortly afterwards he was placed in an orphanage. Imagine losing your parents at that age, moving in a home with complete strangers, not having any friends or family to lean on. He was basically powerless and vulnerable,  something he detested. He had zero control over what happened to him. How could he be strong (or cover his weakness up and regain a feeling of control)? With a powerful robot. At the same time he built walls around him so he wouldn't have to watch anyone leaving him alone. According to the OG manga he even associated with bad people at this time. Why? I can only speculate. Maybe he was looking for anyone he could hold onto, maybe they could use his genius brain and he let them use him so he had someone. I don't think it filled the void in him.

Anyhow he has to deal with his grief by himself and starts to view people who need others as weak. I think this is the foundation that leads to his view on friendship he expresses in the micro bear episode in AB 03. Him not getting attached to other people or brushing A106 off as trash when he fails at sth help him keeping a distance between them and him so he can't lose anyone again as well. We saw how much Hiroshis nearly fatal injury impacted him.

He said to Ochan that a strong robot is cool. Strong regarding brute force. Yes, it is childish, but if you think about it, it's a visible demonstration of how he defines strength: defeating others, achieving what average humans can't, being surperior, being in control. The mix of 1.000 Horsepowers and the ability to think for himself, analyzeing and preventing the assault in the 1st Episode of Atom: The Beginning was the first step of A106 to become superman. A type of god, if you want to call him that. He doesn't lust for Power for the sake of power but rather to be in control.

A view years later we see him further developing robots with kokoro, but, while he is the minister of science, his colleagues call his work blasphemy (03 Manga) and some citizens riot against the development of more robots. Him being rude and overbearing doesn't help fostering a good relationship with the public. In the og manga he can't stand that he is the minister while Ochan is the more popular one, which, to me, is an indicator that he wants to be accepted by others and, while probalby not wanting to accept it, yearns for other people to understand and appreciate him. He is defining popularity via surperiority, academic success and achievements. He also wanted to impress Dr. Lolo by destroying her robot to prove he is worthy, he is strong. It is possible that is parents were strict and cared more about his achievments than him as a person. He looked for their approval e. g by being extremely good at school and now for others approval by being an overachiever at his job. He is frustrated and questions himself why he is the better scientist yet Ochan is admired more.

Anyway, him being a genius, getting more about robots than they, these average people, can even dream of, is beneficial when it comes to inflating ones ego. A mix between this and bitterness is highly toxic. At first he is scared of Atom because he is not under his control but when he sees how Ochan raises him he sees the potential he has to cooperate with him, being "his" again and loses his fear. He views people so far beneath him that robots should rule over them and be their "gods". At the same time he just wants his son back, even if it means deleting or supressing parts of Atoms memories again. Forced recognition, admiration, acceptance and control. Atom was in his hands after he wiped his memories in episode 49. He could have easily continued his plan to rule the world but as soon as he had him back he just lived with him in his old place. In the Anime, especially in the end, he always goes back and forth between Atom being his son and govering the world with him which gives me the impression that he himself has hasn’t got a clear idea of what he wants nor understands what he needs, while his needs come thourgh as feelings. When Atom dies he falls to his knees whispering that Tobio died again. I feel like he wants to govern over people, but only with Atom so he is his priority.

Finally, his drive on the surface level, him wanting to build a god, being powerful and ruling over others with him, has to be considered insane and is dangerous. Looking a bit deeper however it's clear that there is something else which drives him and that is a deeply rooted need for approval and creating safety through control. While an explanation doesn't excuse any of his deeds, inside he is a traumatized man and grieving father who lost everything, never developed a healthy coping mechanism, escaping into illusions and abusing his talents to somehow deal with the hand he has been dealt.

I would have made a character ask Umataro at different stages what he defines as a god and associates with the term.There are gods of destruction, those who forgive and save people etc. Many differnt words are assigned to gods. Wrath, Glory, Wisdom, Love, just to name a view. Are we talking about a type of god in religion or of the mythological type? Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary defines a god to be: "Being perfect in power, wisdom, and goodness who is worshipped (as in Judaism,  Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism) as creator and ruler of the universe"

In the end Umataro Tenma did create a robot with characteristics we could assign to a god. With 100.000 Horsepowers Atom surely is powerful, could rule over Metro City but instead he uses his power to protect it as a citizen who simply has some special skills. While not being wise, depending on how you define it, he surely is good to the bone, never provoking conflicts, peacefully resolving them, should they arise. He is trying to reach everyone through his words and deeds. In the last episode of the 03 Anime he forgives Tenma, huggs him, accepts him as his father and begs that he doesn't die by s*ic*ide. Atom recognizes the damage Tenma has done but he still cares deeply about him.

While Tenma called Atom a failure in some adaptions such as Pluto, he is probably exactly what Tenmas child-self would have loved to develop. A robot with a conscience, a kind person wanting to be your friend, rescueing people in need out of his own free will because he cares.

- he honestly just followed you while whining about how childish and boring it was which saddened you slightly

- after having taken notice in the change of your mood he’ll try to make it up by taking you to the ferris wheel

- he’ll mostly just listen to you talk while having an arm wrapped around your shoulders and his thigh was pressed against your own

- at the top of the ferris wheel he’ll stop it so you could admire the view while he admires you

- won’t ever mention it again and expects you to do the same

- this man claims that he will only go on scary rollercoasters and not on attractions for six year olds

- but while you’re waiting in line to get on a very high and fast rollercoaster you’re spewing out facts about it that you read online including incidents and deaths

- and when the two of you are finally being seated in the roller coaster he’ll question all of his life choices when he thinks about your words earlier

- his eyes are darting around but this man can’t escape when you’re sitting excitedly next to him

- he grips his seat so tight that his knuckles turn completely white while his other hand is cutting of the blood circulation in yours

- then he managed to scream for two minutes straight until it ends

- and you’ll look at him with wide eyes bc he was screaming as if he’ll die any second

- after that experience he took you to less dangerous attractions and refused to go on anything that could ‘kill you’

- to be honest i don’t think he’d go out of his house but i can’t just write nothing

- samura wouldn’t really like attractions and prefers staying on the sidelines watching you with adoring eyes

- but after so much begging you finally convinced him to join you on the carousel

- you’d immediately go to the horse which meant that he’d go to the horse next to yours bc you’re the only reason why he’s even there

- he wouldn’t really see the fun in it but he’d enjoy watching you talk excitedly while the colourful lights lightened your face

- while you’re sitting on the horses your fingers are linked which made him slightly blush

- that’s the only thing you’ll get him on though

- on the train ride back home you’ll be sound asleep against his shoulder which he deems as his favourite part of the day

- you’d drag her through the crowd of people while not letting go of her hand as she giggled behind you

- you’d spin it as fast as you could while listening to your girlfriend’s laughter

- usagi was almost sure that you’ll break the teacup when you didn’t stop spinning

- your hair would be a mess and you’d both have trouble walking out of the attraction in a straight line while giggling like school girls

- you definitely bought more cotton candy after that

preoccupied with sensation/tangible pleasures like food, sex, drugs, I feel like music could even be part of this even though it’s not tangible it’s still a sensory experience. Aesthetic informs meaning. More likely to blame circumstance than self.

stubborn. stands up for himself and his friends and accomplishes the impossible through sheer force of will! But,,, also sticks with bad situations, people, and thought patterns/behaviors long past harm is done.

venusian. inclined towards the arts, and has very specific tastes. romantic. as sort of a beautiful reframing of the stubbornness, taurus’ coloring of the Venusian energy is so devoted compared to flirty/flighty libra-He still considers himself married long after his wife is gone and still wears his wedding ring.

I don't even like ATB at all (I just think the whole making Hoshie way younger than Umataro was... uncomfortable but that's for another time) but I can't get the image of Ochanomizu at Tenma's funeral. (Due to suicide) And nobody else bothered to come because the mans family died before him. and Atom doesn't want anything to do with him, and he had no friends left because he was paranoid and pushed everyone away.

So Ochanomizu goes up to his casket. He sees just how cold and lifeless the body is. Of course he should've expected this but he wasn't ready to face it.

He knew there was nothing he could've done. He knew he didn't have the responsibility to fix him. But it still feels like he failed.

So he leans in and does the "We did it, we're geniuses!" thing. And for a second all the happy memories come back from when yeah they were struggling to get by, but they still had each other and everything just felt so much simpler. And he laughs a bit.

But then reality comes setting back in. Everything that happened since. Ochanomizu watched a family be created and then break apart and die off.

And he breaks down sobbing.
