Do you have any set rules for yourself when drawing your characters, like ‘Runi cannot be more than 12 apples high’ or something

Do NOT look at me, I'm so bad at keeping the sizes consistent. I swear everyone's just a wither height of someone else. It's always the withers. Runi's head comes to Nero's withers, sometimes her jaw or sometimes the top of her head. Nero's jaw goes to Bones' withers. Usma and Eve go to Antaras' except sometimes not quite, sometimes they're all magical height. Sequentical art hard.

oohhh. Please feel free to elaborate on wildlife and cheronbyl.

So basically in the years following the reactor meltdown, the Chernobyl exclusion zone has become an unexpected haven for wildlife. There are now a lot of animals there: deer and foxes and the like, but also a lot of species that are really rare in other parts of Europe, like European bison. There are actually so many boar and wolves that they've started to spread into nearby areas.

There are quire a few dogs and cats still in the area, from pets who unfortunately got left behind. Dogs of Chernobyl is an offshoot of the organization Clean Futures Fund, which has been doing a lot to care for the animals, providing food and medication, and to my knowledge a few of the animals have been able to be adopted.

My favorite part is the fact that the Chernobyl exclusion zone is home to the only population of Przewalski's horses outside of Mongolia and China. They were introduced by a wildlife reserve in the late 90's in the hopes of improving biodiversity in the area. Przewalskis horses are the last truly wild horses (horses that have never been domesticated by humans) and they were extinct in the wild for most of the 20th century.

They've adapted pretty well to the zone, and they've even been seen using abandoned buildings as shelter!

As far as science goes, there's been some research into the ecology of the zone (a lot of it has been lost or put on hold now, due to the war). There's so much that we don't know about how the radiation effects the animals generation to generation, and how long term radiation exposure effects ecosystems as a whole. The radiation seems to be less of a danger than one might think, but there's a lot we don't fully understand.

As somebody who is studying conservation medicine in graduate school, this is something that really inspires me, and I would love to be involved with this kind of research and rewinding someday.

I'd also recommend following chornobyl_reserve on instagram: it's the official account of the Chernobyl Radiation and Ecological Biosphere Reserve, the reserve area of the zone. It's all in Ukrainian but they have stunning photos illustrating the diversity of the area.

And finally: right now, the animals and people in Chernobyl are in danger. If you're in a place to donate or provide assistance, this page has resources where you can help a number of reserves, protected areas and zoos during the war.

I thought butch is a lesbian only term?

hmmm yes and no? this is something that doesn't really have a simple answer. it depends who you ask; people have different opinions about it.

in general, the term butch means a lot of different things in the lgbt community. obviously there's butch lesbians, but it's also a term that's used in ball culture, by drag queens and gay men. it's an adjective, it's a gender, it's an orientation. i assume you're referencing the other anon, and i have no idea what they may mean when they call themselves butch. if we're talking about bisexual women then the truth is that bisexual women can have just as complex experiences with gender and presentation as lesbians and i don't really think it benefits anybody to exclude them from the community.

like i said previously, butch is not just an "aesthetic"; there's more to it than just dressing a certain way. i think it's way more harmful to pretend like other women don't also grapple with their gender identity and their sexuality and their gendered roles in society-- basically, we should celebrate our similarities rather than argue our differences.

a lot of the time people say bisexuals can't be butches because they still "cater to men" which to me is just a gross thing to say. there are plenty of bi people who prefer women, who do not pursue men, who are gender nonconforming; and even if they do prefer men, if they date men, that still doesn't mean they're "catering" to anybody. it's a very... dehumanizing and misogynistic attitude to have when talking about bi women imo (and straight women as well)

the term butch/femme was historically used by all gay women; butch/femme in this context, are roles that came about in the working-class lesbian bar scene in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. there were plenty of bisexual women that went to lesbian bars and filled these roles as well. there's bulldagger, bulldyke, and stud, that came out of Black lesbian communities. there's kiki, which isn't used at all anymore, to describe lesbians that don't identify as either. there are people that will insist that bisexuals use the term "stag" and "doe" which i don't think is fair; most people do not know what these terms mean and there is no "stag community" as far as i'm aware. i'm pretty sure these are just tumblr terms.

what it all comes down to is that when people see a gnc woman in the street, they're not going to rush over and politely ask if she's a lesbian or not. to be blunt, most of the time they're going to call them the same slur, regardless. the world is going to treat them the same, regardless. so for me personally i'd rather offer them a little bit of relief in a community that is familiar and understanding rather than exclude them to face that kind of shit all alone iykwim.

I could imagine, that the new Hive Queen is still very young. Maybe around Lewks age now, if she gets born shortly after the Infection ended.

What about Crystal Peaks? Are the Bugs there still mining the Crystals? And the Royal Waterways? How're they doing? Latter probably not very different

Also also how's the Old Stag doing? If he's still alive? Are the Stagways still in use with new Stags or is the Old Stag still the only one left? In-Game you can see an Egg in the Stag Nest that hatched not to long ago, so maybe a young Stag is running around?

Yeah the nest would need a queen as soon as possible, so I definitely think she would be a bit older than Lewk (he was born about 5 years after the infection ended). Still very young, of course. The Hive will still be in a bit of a chaos for a while, unless they have some kind of regent ruling in her absence.

As for the crystal mining, since the City still functions, the demand for crystals would still be there. Many of the miners died, but more would replace them following the end of the infection, so yes, the mine still works as it used to in the past (though the number of workers and the amount of crystals mined is definitely smaller than before). Since Dirtmouth also has a significant presence in Hallownest following the renovations and the increase in population, and because it has direct access to Crystal Peak, perhaps it also has its own mine, and the crystals collected there are traded with merchants from different lands, in exchange for valuable resources and funds, used in further renovations. It would mean that some of the miners live in the town, I imagine all the houses closest to the Crystal Peak lift belong to them.

For the last part of the question I'm attaching a similar ask I got to avoid repeating myself (hope anon doesn't mind).

I really like the idea of a young Stag being trained under the Old Stag to eventually replace him. The Stagways are still very much functional, it's the main form of travel for non-merchant bugs, since it directly connects to the City and other important locations. I imagine the Old Stag had his hands (claws?) full since Dirtmouth grew in numbers and so the demand for travel increased, but I think it made him very happy. He's loyal to his duties and he enjoys his job, though his age will inevitably catch up to him. Perhaps someone (maybe Hornet? She does wander a lot) found the Stag egg and brought it to Dirtmouth to raise it in safety. So by the time Lewk is born, there's already a little Stag running around. I do think they're still too young to take over the Stagways duties, but they will eventually replace the Old Stag, allowing him to retire and live the rest of his life in peace. And who knows, maybe it'll turn out that they aren't even the two last Stags left. I think it's only stated that there are no more of them in Hallownest, and because other lands are a big part of the AU, I could absolutely see other Stags living outside of its territory. Maybe the end of the infection would encourage some of them to move here, I know it would make the Old Stag very happy.

hi! do you have any tips on getting to know local fae and any anecdotes? also any warnings if you have them. ty!

Getting to know you tips:

Most of the folklore I draw from in my work with the Folk  is specifically Irish, and it seems like the Celtic types of Folk are the ones you see most commonly spoken about online (I believe they were spread via human immigration - i.e. the American Gods theory). Many cultures have folklore of spirits that people often lump into “ the fae,” but I think this over is a mistake.  A Russian Domovoi and an English Brownie might seem like the same thing because they’re both house spirits, but they operate on very different rule sets and have different roles within their cultures.  So I find it important to get to know the Folk around you on their own terms.  Are they native to the area, or are they essentially immigrants?  My own work is so Irish flavored because I believe the Folk I work with came here from Ireland.  

We’ve talked about human culture, now let’s talk about Otherworldly culture.  A lot of working with the Folk for me has been like learning a new culture.  You’ve probably seen a lot of “Rules for Working With the Fae” around, and while those are great general guidelines they aren’t always necessarily applicable in their entirety to every group of the Folk or every individual spirit.  Every time I encounter a new group of the Folk it’s like moving to a new city, there’s a unique culture to learn and internalize.  Each Court, Clan, Troop, Mob, etc is going to be unique, and solitary types even more so. At first I recommend listening more than you speak, ere on the side of too formal rather than too casual, and try to get just one or two close allies who will help you learn and practice, and hopefully kindly point out your mistakes before you make them with someone less forgiving. 

Some words of caution: 

Don’t be afraid of the Fair Folk if you want to have a successful relationship with them. There’s a lot of fear mongering that happens about this particular type of spirit, and yes there are particular dangers to seeking them out, but that can be said of any type of spirit in my opinion.  And in this particular case fear will not serve you well. Be cautious, yes, but not timid or afraid.  The Fair Folk I’ve been close to reward clever cautiousness and only mock fear.  

You’ll notice that I called them the “Fair Folk” try not to use the f-word you used, and never the f-word that rhymes with airy.  Now this is informed by my particular experiences and specific cultural beliefs that calling them those terms is…. Let’s say less than flattering to them.  It's also a cultural belief that these words attract their attention when one may not necessarily want it, so there are all sorts of traditional epithets and euphemisms.  But not all of those terms apply to all of the Folk, for instance the courtly types might like the classic “Lords and Ladies” term, but the Clan I have ties to hates being called this term and would take it as being mocked if someone used it with them, they prefer simpler options like “The Gentle Folk” or “The Folk Under the Hill.”  So the warning/tip here is to figure out what the Folk you’re getting to know prefer to be called and stick to that. (Of course this only applies if you’re operating within a paradigm that has similar cultural taboos, but these cultural taboos aren’t uncommon, so it’s worth checking if you don’t already know)

Story time:

I think I've mentioned before that two Folk from the Clan that I'm allied with now were the first spirit encounter that I can remember from my childhood. Their reaction was very much "You can see us!?!?" They clearly weren't used to being noticed by humans. They starting bring others to see me see them. Eventually they brought the leader of their Clan, who became my trusted ally who helped me learn the culture and practice the rules. He was ancient, even by the standard of the Folk (so old he looked look) but he had a soft spot for children, so he was more forgiving and patient of my learning curve than anyone else in the Clan likely would have been. I was working with him at the same time I was studying with mentor, so I would learn spirit work and Otherworldly travel techniques with her, and then practice them on/with him. He treated me like a beloved pet with an amazing repertoire of tricks, and the rest of the Clan treated me like a team mascot. I've grown in skill and power, and for the most part the members of the Clan treat me as an equal now, but there are still a few old timers who still act like I'm their mascot. But I don't begrudge them, change is hard for them.

sirius, with an antler tattoo on his lower back and a POTTER tramp stamp below it. just above his ass. it shows deliciously when he's wearing low slung pants or bending over or has a tower wrapped, except.

except, he's not told james about it. until one day j accidentally stumbles onto it and has an entire crisis because ???? did he hallucinate??? was it his subconscious desires warping reality???

here’s a little bit of it!

James groans, flopping backward onto the couch like a dramatic Victorian damsel. “Oh come on, Moony. I know you’re taking the mickey but this is serious!”

“It is Sirius, yes,” his idiot friend agrees, a pleasant smile playing along his lips. James throws a useless decorative pillow straight at that smug, annoying face. Even more annoyingly, he manages to dodge it. Ugh.

“Will you help me out or should I just cut off my dick altogether and go to Evans next?”

Remus suddenly sits up straight, panic on his features, hands waving madly around. “Yikes, James, no. Of course you don't go to Evans. I didn't realise you were that bothered about this.”

“Remus,” James begins in a deathly calm, even tone. “This morning I walked in on my best friend, the guy I’ve been half in love with for over a decade, with my name and animagus tattooed on his fucking arse that he’s never told me about. How in the name of all things holy am I meant to not be bothered about that?”

By the end of his little rant, he’s shouting the words out loud but he can’t help it. There’s been a surge of restless energy swirling inside of him for hours now and it needs to be released immediately. It’s just Remus’s misfortune (and also fault) that it happened with him but he should also learn not to make things worse with his incessant poking around. There’s a time and place for that and that is not when a bloke is having a sexuality crisis. And not even his own sexuality crisis, at that.

“Since when did he even like guys?” he asks tiredly, slumping back, all fight gone out of him. “Since when does he like anyone?”

“Er--you just answered your own question there,” Remus says. “He doesn't like guys, or anyone. It’s just you, innit?”

Hi V, a few days ago I asked Dr Watson what he meant by “I don’t mind” during his stag night. His hesitation in answering the question makes me even more curious. I love your character analyses, so any thoughts on what he didn’t mind? There’s no hurry at all: just reply whenever you feel like it.

Hey, Windy, nice to hear from you again. I have to say, this analysis did ask for acquiring the record of the moment (you ought to get a better security on your records @atamh because it is laughably easy with a simple tool from dark web), but I did manage in the end.

I must say, you have actually gotten it wrong. Dr Watson wasn´t answering your question, not because he doesn´t want to, but likely because the person saying they don´t mind was Mr Holmes all along (the timbre of his voice was incriminating evidence of this).

As I see it, Dr Watson simply lost balance leaning forward in his chair and grabbed the nearest object (Holmes´ knee) to steady himself. He was flustered by this, which Holmes picked up on and assured him he didn´t mind. Whether there were or were not any feelings between them involved at that point is questionable. Alcohol makes people say and do all kinds of things, that´s all I have to say about that.

Simple lore

Said oc is also introduced when the kids r also introduced to the bots (yes they is 14) them oc slowly grows a relationship with red alert (the adopted father figure lmfao) and hotshot (brother figure)

So in short, they happy w/ the bots until the end

They die (due to no oxygen, unicron broke the helmet and sadly couldn’t make it back to ship on time even with the bots) and uh, red alert doesn’t have a child anymore!

I don't exactly have an Armada OC since I'm doing an original AU, but maybe I could do some adaptation later about my oc Stag, but in general:

Stag Flighh is a cold forged seeker and he has no trine (it's pretty common seekers having trines in my lore for strategical and bonding reasons) because he doesn't fit in any group, he is inspired on beetles (as you can see by the name), so he can lift three times his size, which is not pretty common to a seeker.

Later he starts to love the life on Earth, specially bugs, his favorites are beetles. He turns into an autobot later, and since he is pretty damn strong he turns into a wrecker, so he is basically the first seeker in my au to be a wrecker!

So that's it, I don't have amada ocs, but I do have my own designs of armada characters like these two. They will be part of my lore too!

I'm having ideas about them combining in each other and forming a swimmer bot just like a submarine, but they could swim in his bot form too, because of Cyclonus tail and Demolisher's feet, they probably would swim like Gojira, and I'm having an idea of them having a sonar sound, they could use this as a way to avoid marine life, since it can bother them sometimes or deactivating signals.

Buuuut, that's just a little ideia that I had while showering dkskdkekdka
