one of my fave things about spiders is how they walk. theyre so thoughful and melodical about every step and i think thats really cute. they pause when they're unsure and approach everything with this poise about them.
from the perspective of my engineering degree, its also really cool how they move their legs using hydraulics of their own haemolymph (bug blood).
they also have little toe beans. thats also great.
These gorgeous insects are a prime example of why you shouldn't touch strangers. Coming into contact with the larvae of these fascinating moths can leave you with sharp, brittle spikes in your skin that administer a poison that causes itchy welts all over your skin. But besides the horrors, they really are quite lovely! These moths can be found across Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe, and usually show up in Spring, though they tend to flourish in mid-summer. These insects don't have much information about them, but their colors speak volumes!

today i had a discussion with someone on the things we call scorpions that are not scorpions . because entomologists love to call things by names they are not actually.
ended up with this little . presentation. guide. thing. there are probably many, many more, but this is what we came up with on the Spot
the top ones, are terrestrial crustaceans, ie have gills, require sufficiently watery air to breathe, etc while on the bottom, those are insects like you’d expect, and the two are NOT RELATED!
