This is just kind of a brainworm I wanted to share, and your art style feels like it vibes with the humor/mood of the piece.
Barbie/Ken mugshot meme. Ladybug is Barbie. Rena/QB/Chat/Carapace are all crowded in together, clowning for the Ken picture.
Wasn’t planning on doing this trend but this sounded fun soooo :)

Might render it later but we’ll see,

10. If unpublished, can you show a sneak peek of what you've written?
:3
Piers tried not to let the anger show, but he wasn’t exactly sure if it worked. He pushed his hand between his thigh and the couch to hide how much it was shaking. He had no idea how to even react, not when all he wanted was the impossible, to save Leon from the life he’d lived. And he knew it was unfair to keep asking questions while Leon couldn’t keep from answering, but he couldn’t help himself. “She’s free now! Why are you still putting yourself through this!?”
The half-whispered answer was chilling. “It’s all I’m good for.”
The worst part of it was that Leon couldn’t lie. He truly believed what he was saying, and he thought that he had no value as a person beyond his job. That he had nothing else to give. Which was absolute bullshit. Piers wanted to scream.
(for this thing!)

Trick or treat! Mostly treat, please!
Mostly a treat, you say? Which means there is a little room for trickery, yes?
And who is better at trickery than dearest Mitsuhide?
A while ago, I made an attempt of using clusters to try and map out my thinking process when it comes to fic writing, so I could try and visually see where ramblings could take me. Here's the IkeSen portion of that (admittedly quite large) clusterfuck of ideas, based on an idea from an old Fictober prompt: You Keep Me Warm
Tumblr media
So, based on this image and that Mitsuhide is at the forefront of this idea, let's go have a lil wip!
----
The road to recovery wasn't an easy one, Mitsuhide was quick to realize, when he had found you had thrown your blankets off, once again. Even wrapping you as if you were a small caterpillar in the chrysalis did little to deter you. Perhaps he should next seek out midwifes for advice on techniques swaddling fussy infants as clearly his method was lacking. With a sigh, he knelt beside your bed and corrected the sheets, pulling them over your shoulders. It eased his frayed nerves that you were steadily gaining your strength back, thankfully. What he didn't like was discovering your chilled limbs whenever he checked on your during the night. Doubly frustrating was finding other parts clammy with fever. He wiped your brow with a cool, damp cloth. "…Is cold." you whispered hoarsely, shivering. "You'd be warmer if you kept your blankets on." Heavens above, he was turning into Hideyoshi, he thought with a bitter laugh.

I was tagged by @viol3lite in this post here for a little chain answer thingy thing. Thanks for the tag :) The original post is super long so I'm answering here instead of reblogging the whole thing.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
33
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
654,175
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Transformers. I used to write for other fandoms many years ago.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Tumblr media
LOL this is how all my stats look. The Echo Garden has a jillion more stats than everything else.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yes :)
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't have any fics with angsty endings, per se. But horrific or sad or horrifically sad... probably "Lightning Rod."
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Plenty of them have happy endings! Probably Echo Garden wins here. I literally wrote the sappiest ending I could, then wrote the whole fic, wondering if I could get to a place where the sappiness was in character, and it was. bahaha
8. Do you get hate on fics?
never got a flame on ff.net and I've never gotten hate on AO3 =)
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
lol. uhhhhh. the roboty kind
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
The craziest one was a character from TFP going onto a vessel from MTMTE. It's a crossover from different parts of the TF franchise, but not a crossover between entirely unrelated franchises.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not to my knowledge
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
yes! there are 2 Russian translations and 1 Chinese translation for Echo Garden, and there is a Russian translation for the Rodimus/Megatron fic The Field Ballad.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
not in TF fandom
14. What's your all time favorite ship?
Mirage/Skywarp :)
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
sequel to Face The Past. I have a bunch of stuff written but will probably never get it together.
16. What are your writing strengths?
worldbuilding, characterization (keeping characters in character even through an arc), flow
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
plot, ugh
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
is this a contentious subject? o_O oh maybe for anime, putting random Japanese in?
in Transformers fics the "other languages" aren't real the way non-English languages are real, so I can't put them in without inventing them and then translating them anyway. I put those parts in italics and make it known to the reader what's happening. I think it's good for showing character or culture
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I made my own Star Trek ship and crew xD
20. Favorite fic you've written?
oh nuuuuu how am I supposed to piiiiiiick...
*sigh* I guess Echo Garden? it was extremely long and extremely indulgent. I held back a little, but overall I did almost everything I wanted to do. the length came from the indulgence.
If you'd like to consider yourself tagged and join in, feel free =)

Opinion on S3 of Infinity Train?
Tumblr media
Tl;DR, I really enjoyed this Book! Grace's growth from a manipulator matched with Simon's trust issues were a clever pairing, especially in the regard that they are codependent enablers (Grace more than Simon at first). Hazel's presence was an excellent match for Grace and Simon's "companion" but Tuba leaving an imprint the way she did despite not being there for the majority only shows how good her character was.
The themes overall were done really well, as the show demonstrated a nice portrayal of how conflicting people can exist and what one can do to better themselves, or help others.
Good season, good characters.
To get into it in more depth...
My sister and I did not like these two because of Book 2, but when we learned they were gonna be the Book 3 protagonists I figured we'd learn to like at least one of them. Character wise, I prefer Grace over Simon but I still liked how they handled everyone's characters within this book. They really did feel like snarky teenagers with no adult guidance, who at their core were really the same scared old kids who got on the train.
When Grace told Simon, "I don't owe you anything" I really liked the emotions of that scene and dialogue. How Simon was portrayed with his trust issues, compared to Grace and her manipulation, I think was done well. He was meant to be someone frustrating and both the VA and animation carried that snark very well.
I also liked how their codependent relationship as mutual (though more on Grace's end) enablers was subtly expressed at first. It was a great take on expressing the problems of acting out for attention and issue of trust, but on top of recognizing good and bad friends. Or in other words, conveying the journey of recognizing flaws in an individual or self, and either striving to help others from them or realizing to distance yourself from the company you keep.
On that notion, Grace's number going down the way it did was a good way of expressing that while you've done a lot of wrongs in life, starting the path to redemption or making up for it can be an even greater step than you realize. I also kinda liked that One-One didn't know about The Apex. It sucked, obviously, but it evolved into an interesting element with Grace having to recognize her faults and the impact she's had on others, then expand on the idea of pushing out of that toxic mentality.
Good example would be Jesse confronting The Apex: as a Passenger, it sucked his "goal" was kind of being hampered by other Passengers who misunderstood the Train, but it did lead to him outright asserting he will be better which led to his escape.
Also, this Book had Samantha the Cat! Which was always a fun recurring character to me, so seeing some backstory for her was neat! I liked Hazel's character and what she did for Grace, her presence set a standard for Grace and Simon and I liked that a lot, since it forced them to compromise on the one thing we already knew they were adamant about: wheeling denizens. Amelia's return and knowing she's helping One-One now was cool to know, but it was also saddening to learn why Hazel existed in the first place. And Holy Hades did Tuba's death hit hard, she was such a good mother-figure and the delivery of that scene was so well done (followed up with the most twisted scene where Simon just happily tells Hazel he killed her).
The amount of characters within this Book blended well together, especially in terms of narrative. A lot of themes took place in this Book, and I liked that our cast of (mostly) four balanced each other out in terms of dynamics. Overall, I think this Book carried itself well with the characters it introduced and reintroduced. My sister and I really liked it!
Until next ask,
- Bleh

🔥 unpopular opinion pls 🥺🤲
You get 2 bc you didnt give me a theme!!
🔥Death Machine: i'd actually be curious to see a remake or a sequel to it in any shape or form? The OG movie is perfect by itself and i love it to bits, but i would also have tons of fun picking at literally anything new, good or bad. It's not something that's needed, obviously, and i would miss the original cast so much, but if it happened i'd take a look!
🔥Cartouche salty opinion time no such thing an unpopular opinion since there's no fandom to speak of im still annoyed that they spend like 5 different eps on the Fleur d'Épine backstory! while Cartouche gets 1 episode that's really more about his brother than about him??? it's still a neat one, but my boy deserved better......

For the fairy tale ask, 3 & 13, I'll bring popcorn
Hi!! Thank you for sending some!
3. What is one of your favourite non-romantic fairy tales?
Actually, my favorite fairy tale in general is non-romantic: The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen.
Andersen had, I think, a very good handle of relationship dynamics that weren't plain or just archetypal, for the genre and the time in which he published. Maybe because he was writing in a place of self fulfillment and poetic intent rather than educational, moral or linguistic pursuit, maybe because he wasn't hetero or allosexual, maybe because he was born at a time in which he could and wanted to deconstruct what he didn't agree with in other stories (especially classism), his relationships don't tend to ever be simple or clear cut, and sometimes are not even endgame.
Not only the main motivator for the story is Gerda trying to save her friend Kai, Gerda also finds friends along the way, like the tough but sensitive Little Robber Girl who turns to care for her very dearly, or the Princess who is in search for a Prince who'd be, more than anything, a good companion for conversation and shared interests.
There is a lot of strength in love without romance in The Snow Queen. Which is probably why it always confused me that people at large thought that Frozen was somewhat doing something revolutionary.
13. Do you have a folklore rant you're holding in? (Let It Out)
I've mentioned this before but it still bothers me greatly: it angers me when people think that, in order to strive for diversity and representation in fairy tales and folklore, they have to slap Eurocentric stories into non European cultures. That's colonialism.
Taking a European story like Snow White or Little Red Riding Hood and stamping on some other culture into it for more diversity is to shoehorn a lot of folkloric remnants of culture, beliefs, religion, social categories of a time and place to people who not only don't hold them but who also have our own stories to share.
To name just one example of the culture I'm most familiar with because it's my own, Berta Elena Vidal de Battini, in the early to mid 20th Century, compiled 3152 texts throughout the territory of Argentina, annotated, cataloged and accompanied by a study of the diverse language changes of all territories and the cultural influences that combined in day to day life of the territory, both the native peoples foundations and the immigration influences.
3152 texts. Stories, fairy tales, fables, rhymes, cryptid encounters, poems, native peoples narrative, popular characters, etc.
Differently from the Grimms, Laura Gonzenbach and other compilers that set to do a similar job, Vidal de Battini preserved, as much as she was able, the linguistic variety of the story tellers, bending Spanish (from Spain) grammar to adapt to the regional vernacular and pointing out why some of these cases occurred and what influence did these things have linguistically.
And that's just one example. There's so much richness in folklore and stories of every culture, because every culture has stories.
I think that what Disney is trying to do lately, of creating new fairy tales that are conceptualized on more diverse cultural foundations, is a step forward, especially since most often there are, as of late, at least partially own voices in the crew. Disney became, whether we like it or not, the biggest platform for fairy tale distribution in the world. When people think of Cinderella, most people think of a light blue dress and a blonde updo. Still, they are a US based company with a capitalist nature and a majority of white folks in positions of power, and that ends up constructing filters and problematic situations, as well as it creates a landscape in which your story needs to pass through those filters in order to be listened to, which implies, it being a US based company, that the story becomes a monetized intellectual property.
I think it's just time to pass the microphone. If you want more diversity in stories, let those people you want to know more about tell their stories. If you are from a culture that doesn't get represented often and are more familiar with Hansel and Gretel than you are with your own folklore, or your first instinct is to re-write a European story to fit you, look around and search, because I assure you there's a lot of stuff there for you to discover and it's more wonderful than what you expect.
Thank you for sending some questions @demigodinmybed ♥

WONDER for the fanfic wip ask thing
There’s a few scars across [Naruto]'s chest, around where his shoulder meets his neck, and a few more along his arms and hands, and Gaara silently wonders if the cruel people of Konoha are responsible for such a thing. His hand scars can be explained away by reckless training regiments, but the scars on the tops of his shoulder and arms look to be intentional, almost like he threw his arms up to protect himself from some assailant.
it felt incomplete without the sentence right after teehee
