On July 7, 2023, the hosts of the Fresh & Fit Podcast had white nationalist Nick Fuentes as a guest on a pair of livestreams. During these livestreams, Fuentes engaged in his usual displays of bigotry: calling for a majority white country, condemning interracial relationships and women’s rights, praising Adolf Hitler, denying the Holocaust and, at one point, using the N-word.
The hosts of the show, Myron Gaines and Walter Weekes, often encouraged and agreed with Fuentes, and would play a sound effect of a cash register whenever Jewish people were mentioned.
During the first Fresh & Fit Podcast livestream, which was three hours long and aired on both YouTube and Rumble, Fuentes said that “women shouldn’t be getting educated” and shouldn’t have the right to vote. Myron Gaines said that women should be able to vote, but added that a “female’s vote should be half of a man’s vote” because men register for selective service.
When asked for his thoughts on “mass immigration,” Fuentes said he was “totally against it,” claiming that America was “founded, built, inhabited by white people” and “should remain that way.” Fuentes asked where white people will be “evacuated to” in the event that America is “taken over” and “they’re killin’ white people and we’re 30% of the population.”
Gaines also asked Fuentes if he’s actually an anti-semite for criticizing Israel or Jewish people since, in his opinion, a “small group of” Jews are “overrepresented” in certain careers or industries. Fuentes complained that if you suggest the Holocaust was “exaggerated,” or accuse Jewish people of dual loyalty, or suggest that Jews are part of a global conspiracy you’re considered anti-semitic.
“The FBI, the State Department says you’re an anti-semite if: Holocaust exaggerated, you think Jews are loyal to Israel, if you think Jews conspire in the world — which they do!” he exclaimed. “I mean what’s the World Jewish Congress? I mean what is that other than a global conspiracy?”
Fuentes blamed Jewish people for the murder of Jesus Christ (a belief renounced by the Catholic Church in 1962), and voiced support for the Judeo-Bolshevik conspiracy theory which posits that Jewish people carried out the Russian Revolution of 1917. “So it’s not just any group that’s running the society, it’s not just any group that wields its influence,” he said. “It’s a group that hates God. It’s a group that hates Christians. It’s a group that, historically, has hated Europeans.”
Co-host Walter Weekes chimed in to say that Jews “will inevitably bring about the end of the world,” and cited the Book of Revelation. “So what did the Devil do? Everything opposite [of what God wants],” Weekes added. “What are the Jews doing? The opposite.” Myron Gaines said he looked at the issue from a “geopolitical angle” and claimed that there is “100% proof that there was Israeli intelligence involved in” 9/11.
In a second livestream that lasted four hours and is now set to private on the Fresh & Fit Podcast YouTube channel, which has over 1.4 million subscribers, Gaines and Weekes included Fuentes on a panel alongside several Black women.
Early on in the show, Fuentes told the other panelists that he “support[s] most of” what Adolf Hitler did, and that he doesn’t believe that the Holocaust happened. Later on when they revisited these comments, Fuentes called Hitler a “good guy” and cited the work of David Irving, a notorious racist and Holocaust denier, to suggest that the Nazis did not carry out a genocide.
Irving denies the existence of Nazi gas chambers and once remarked that “I don’t think there was any overall Reich policy to kill the Jews. If there was, they would have been killed and there would not be now so many millions of survivors.”
Fuentes referred to Irving, who unsuccessfully sued historian Deborah Lipstadt for libel after she called him a Holocaust denier, as “one of the preeminent World War II historians in the history of the world.” Fuentes cited Irving’s false claims that Nazi concentration camps were not, in fact, “death camps,” and that Jewish prisoners mainly died of disease and starvation.
“And so when you see these pictures of people being shoveled in and the mass graves and things like that, maybe it’s not gas chambers. Maybe it’s not an extermination. Maybe these were people who still, unfairly and in a discriminatory way, were locked up for being Jewish. But maybe these technological horrors are exaggerated. Maybe the numbers are exaggerated,” he said, summarizing Irving’s position.
Fuentes concluded that “it’s a lot more plausible that this is being used to bully people into not talking about certain topics.”
Three hours into the livestream, in response to a viewer question about whether Fuentes had “support from a black / hispanic [sic] audience,” Fuentes replied that “Blacks love me because I’m honest.” When other panelists reacted to his use of the word “Blacks,” Fuentes said that they didn’t “want to hear my second choice.” After being egged on by other panelists, Fuentes then said the N-word into his mic.

I did it! I finished the book psychoanalyzing christian conservative white men! What a rollercoaster! I know I’ve been bitching and moaning this whole time but the last chapter was a pleasant surprise. Why the rest of the book sucks so much makes sense now. but before we get to the academic review portion let’s take a minute to look at the few and far between nuggets of comedy that i panned out of this travesty (extra commentary arrowed after the quote):
Muscular Christianity! <— Jesus with a protein shake still haunts me.
It’s like an Egyptian God Card in Yu-Gi-Oh - once Exodia is on the field, everything else dissolves and it wins automatically.
Finally a mass murder write a relatively coherent manifesto.
… all those creationists and biblical literalists who believe that physics is also a religion. <— ????there’s people who think physics is fake???? i want to know more! i literally googled the crap out of every key word list i could think of for more information. i found nothing.
Hatecore <—this is a legitimate nazi music genre. i googled it. what the fuck.
... the mosh pit looks like Turkish oil wrestling, without the same kind of lubrication.
Your God is dead and so is your dream. <— fuck the right makes the left look so much cooler than we are. this was from a quote of a nazi straw manning the left.
the homoerotic (the obvious sensuality of all that physicality) <— this is about fight club and mosh pits and wrestling. what we in the modern tumblr era would add a “the rituals are intricate” meme to.
And there we go, the sum total joy that can be got of me suffering through this book.
so let me just kick this off by summarizing each chapter in a sentence real quick:
1) The anger is being amplified by talk show hosts such as Rush Limbaugh for profit/votes for the republican party, ergo it’s not genuinely how these men would be acting without nefarious influences.
2) All school shooters except one have been white christian conservative boys/ in white christian conservative areas (i.e. in a place where even if you are a liberal there is local social pressure to adhere to christian conservative values).
3) Lots of statistics about MRAs being wrong.
4) Lots of statistics about what happens when a divorce happens.
5) Lots of statistics about domestic violence; it’s statistically significant that white christian conservative men are the worst offenders.
6) General stuff about going postal and suicide.
7) how all of the above turns white men into nazis but also a snap shot of US republican voters from 2001 to 2012.
literally chapters 2-6 could have been cut and replaced with one chapter that asked “what is white american masculinity anyway?” and then shove all the statistics in there without the fucking endless repetition.  but three chapters doesn’t make a book.
~bad segue~
God how long did it take me to read this book? *light googling* checked out november 15th???? It took me 45 days to read a 285 page book that’s pathetic. that’s an average of 6 1/2 pages per day. and that really was as much as i could stand.
~worse segue~
anyway the general argument of this book is this: if you’re wondering why white men are so angry it’s because their anger is profitable for the republican party, also said amplified anger creates school shooters, guys who kill women for not fucking them, the divorce chapter really wasn’t relevant to anything tbh, around 80% of all domestic violence, guys who kill random people (and themselves), and -oh yeah- fucking nazis! the way we as a society can fix the white men being a problem is to *checks notes* do the New Deal again?
not so sure about his proposed solution there as this was the one section of the book that needed more words to get the point across, but if you know literally anything about modern nazis that’s all old hat stuff to you. and if you don’t know literally anything about republicans this is probably the worst thing you could pick up to educate yourself because it’s so fucking boring to read, like there’s whole sections where every paragraph is a topic sentence then the rest of the sentences in that paragraph are the same topic sentence rephrased. so it’s not really academic enough to teach. The only other demographic i can image this book is aimed at is the very Angry White Men it is studying. Sort of a “wake the fuck up you’re in an X to nazi pipeline and get out” (kinda like that vegans post that was making the rounds not too long ago. ah, that was a good well written thing to read. good times.) but written as if the audience has the reading comprehension and emotional intelligence of a potato. which i guess is the perfect description of republican voters.
surprisingly, i have over three pages of typed quotes. most of it is from chapter 7. and most of the chapter seven quotes are from the white women nazis section. lol, i’m literally reading a book about white men but the womens section was more interesting. very eerie to see little bits and pieces of what we now know as terfs, cottagecore, trad wives, and surprisingly enough harry potter fans in the women who were literally in the KKK when this book was published.
the book could have been a lot better with more of what was going on in chapter one with the bit about muscular christianity and kellogg’s anti-masturbation breakfast flakes. because the book sort of dances around the fact that it’s out of control american individualism that’s making up all the bad things in american masculinity that’s being taken advantage of by the right. i mean maybe the post civil war era was picked intentionally because slavery is too hot of a topic to touch, but it’s pretty easy to add manifest destiny and us expansion to a book about people who live their lives expecting to get something.
and if only more care was taken to define what american white masculinity is, or how white american masculinity is different from black american masculinity, or how white american masculinity is different from white european masculinity, i feel like there would have been more thoughts in the book to bounce off each other rather than the contextless lists of awful things we got. i mean that’s kind of a tall order, and it’s sort of achieved by pointing out that it’s white men/boys who do X and working backward from there. but if you’re going to blame cultural phenomenon Y for causing white men/boys to do X you really should evaluate the other demographics not doing X in order to figure out some things to do to get white men/boys to stop doing X.
fuck i’m glad i’m done with this book.

Hello White Transmasc who doesn't believe any men face opression.
In front if you are two post.
One is a post that says no transmen face opression because men aren't opressed for being men under any circumstances.
The other is a post filled to the link limit with all the ways Black Men have been denied their mandhood, beaten, and killed. It also has their list of names.
You will have two hours to press post on one of them, and add an insightful reasoning why this is the post you chose to put out.
Good luck :)

For how much Machete is described by others as off-putting, he really is a beautiful dog. Does Vasco ever tell him so? That his eyes make him look earnest, his fur the most comforting shade of white like cream, the way his ears catch light like stained glass? If someone doesn't tell him so, he'd forever think he was ugliest duckling
I think Vasco definitely tries, sincerely and often, but Machete is very reluctant to accept compliments and positive feedback. Especially if it's about something as personal and innate as his looks.
#he quietly spends a lot of time and effort trying to make himself look his best so appearances aren't a trivial thing for him#he's always very clean and neat and presentable#except on those occasions when he's soaked in blood but that's totally besides the point#white fur is kind of high maintenance any tiny bit of dirt or staining becomes an eyesore and if it dries it may be hard to remove#he bathes very frequently way more than average considering the time period#some of the outfits he wears are worth more than the combined lifetime earnings of like six generations of his family#silk was outrageously expensive and the brightest red dye came from pulverized cochineal insects that had to be imported from America#which had been colonized less than a century ago so those tiny little cactus bugs were really troublesome to get and the demand was huge#he doesn't quite have the nerve to wear perfume despite it's widespread popularity at the time#but he makes sure the smell of frankincense burned during church services sticks to his fur and clothes#in general when you spend your entire life around strict emotionally congested highly religious men#you might not end up developing a very healthy self-esteem or body image#once you've internalized that sense of inferiority it's hard to unlearn it#he's so thirsty for approval and praise but when he receives some he immediately gets uncomfortable and distrustful and vaguely angry#he absolutely struggles to compliment people back as well at least on any meaningful and personal level so there's that#answered#anonymous#Machete

acesan and lusan are very cool and enjoyable i love both a lot
but what about sabosan.... think about it (please)
both similar in multiple ways
born in a royal/noble family and absolutely Loathes them and wished they were never born from such family
aesthetically they fit rlly well
certainly ace can understand sanji's self worth issues Deeply. and luffy well... he was basically the light sanji needed. luffy didn't like him just for his cooking, but he was especially interested because of sanji's kindness
sabo can heavily relate to royal/noble problems and refuses to ever be considered one. AND THEY BOTH PROTECTED THE ONES THEY LOVED BY STICKING TO THEIR FAMILY'S SIDE.
and also the uncanny similarities to both his brothers ace and luffy... ace especially now that sabo has inherited his powers. they're both different though. sabo seems a little bit more proper and has this unique charm. and the love/care he has for luffy is so... fond? he seems to have a more tamer way of approaching things (till sanji realizes hes not That tame and is a hot head/rages easy.)
sabo has a goal and he's somewhat more kept together than his other brothers. hes resolve is outstanding as a freedom fighter AND hes the second commander of the revolutionary army??? fucking SWOONS (ok lowkey this just mostly me on my knees for sabo but not my fault im in love w each ASL brothers)
and like just... imagine sabo and sanji meeting for the first time. sabo introduces himself to sanji similar to what ace did.... and lighting up his cigarette but maybe a little closer 👀
sabo walking up to sanji, who is a bit startled with sabo's height- towering over him... and his finger is light with fire and just casually lights sanji's cigarette with the softest smile he's ever seen what the FUCK
and sabo's reaction to sanji yelling at luffy and usopp is a little different yet similar to ace's too... sabo chuckling and saying "hey why don't you go a little easier on 'em? they're still young." he just sounds so sweet... and in his eyes you could just tell he's reminiscing on the past.
"if i did, they'd never learn... not that they ever learn."
"would you like a hand?"
im so hfjhwmdhwjwww

people getting angry when abuse victims relate to billy hargove and sympathize with him because abused children who are never out from under their abusers thumb will lash out and be angry as a fear response since that’s all they’ve ever known is WILD

One of my succession opinions that doesn’t take with most people is that Logan is exponentially more cringe than Kendall. Nothing kendall has ever done will be as embarrassing as when Logan was screaming and chasing Nan Pierce’s car after she rejected his offer. I almost went into septic shock the first time I saw that

js watched kahhoris episode in the what if series after not sparing much of a glance at marvel since loki ended and me being an idiot decided to see what ppl thought on the clock app
tell me why some guy pops up going “oh yeah she prevented the US from being formed ugh what a fucking idiot” like idk with the state we’re in??? kahhori save us rn i swear on my grave.
IF THAT WASNT ENOUGH. he goes“and kahhori and her friends save them from the evil colonizers” and says evil like ‘evil’ as if the colonizers weren’t. and apparently can’t use any word besides idiot to describe her (again, as if colonizing is the absolute best thing in this scenario???) and talks about red skull??? taking over the americas and calling it her fault??? when it’s not even HER universe??? like if ur gonna criticize a character at least get the facts straight lmao
ah yes instead of seeing the potential of native americans, especially with a native woman leading them, fighting back against their colonizers i would love to see the white man abuse and dehumanize them/s
on a serious note, why do white men throw fits every time something isn’t about them winning??? like you have enough movies and media made specifically so you can feel good about your global colonizing and you still feel like throwing a tantrum?? please get a HOLD of yourselves.

Bill Calhoun exists to pad out the parallels between Joshua and Edward by acting as a Friend From His Old Life, ala Daniel. And Daniel is a paternalistic wolf in sheep’s clothing who (unconsciously) wraps up his colonial exploits in themes of care and growth, offsetting Joshua’s open hostility. Daniel is also a character of color, albeit a mishandled one in an inappropriately racialized story. Bill tends to be depicted as black in fancontent, maybe because people pick up on that parallel. The key difference is that he exits the narrative as soon as the Legion is founded. So in my mind, it benefits to look at Bill’s characterization less as a coda to a pre-existing system of oppression, and more as an examination of the kind of person we expect to get involved in those systems, and the disastrous results that those expectations lead to. A bad victim, if you will - another member of the Followers who experienced a huge, violent trauma at a disturbingly early age, the same way Edward did, but unlike him is considered too unpleasant, burdensome, misguided and dangerous to be nurtured out of it. Someone who was never quite afforded the same amount of concern and grace as was given to blonde haired, square jawed, “gifted” young (white) men like his buddy. The soon-to-be dictator. Fun!
