To love the devil; Dottore x GN!Reader.
He is who he has always been. Despite the centuries he's had to accept and embrace his darkness, though he claims otherwise, he can't help but try to hide away from you. Neither one of you's a saint, but through his eyes, you're an angel. CW! Angst, immortal × immortal, Dottore is referred to as "Zandik", self sabotage on Dottore's part♡, dottore being emotional (ooc tbh, im self projecting on him)??
932 words
Dottore has many sides to him that he'd rather hide off from you. For someone so egotistical, so full of pride, you'd never expect him to be ashamed of who he is, who he has become. And he's not— shame, embarrassment— those aren't emotions that he's familiar with.
But fear, now that's a whole other conversation. It's not like you don't know what he's done, the things he's guilty of, his list of crimes, and of unethical desires he's tried to fulfill. It's not like you haven't personally seen him drown in sin over the 400 years of knowing him.
"Zandik, did I upset you?" You ask him as you're sitting on top of his desk while he's in his chair, looking up at your figure. He's been quite distant lately, more than usual. You could easily assume that he was having one of his isolative episodes, but he doesn't seem to be avoiding anyone other than you.
"Hm?" That's all you get from him, accompanied by a raise of his right brow, but his focus soon goes back to his notes, going over them, rambling about how he needs his next project to be the embodiment of perfection. Creating an aranara, was it? Some things, it seems, never change. He was so obsessed with the idea of capturing one of those little creatures of nature, back when the two of you were still students.
The next few hours pass by in the same cycle of events. You try talking to him, he shrugs it off and continues digging his head deep into his research files.
Do not expect any more of him for the next days, weeks even. It's like your existence no longer matters to him. All you see is the man that you've been with throughout basically your whole entire lives, acting as if you were a mere accomplice. He has repeated this type of scheme in the past, more than once, but it never lasted as long as it did this time.
Each of your attempts of getting a simple response out of him, one that requires actual words instead of some grunt or hum, has gone to waste.
You're unsure of what to do. Should you be more worried for him or for yourself? Is this the time it all ends between the two of you? Should you really just give up on him at this point?
"Zandik," you called out, but not to him, nor to anyone else. Sitting by a lake, all by yourself, no one to your company, other than the thousand microorganisms that lived and thrived in the waters. "I wish you would just speak to me."
It's not like you lack friends to confide in. But would anyone be as understanding towards him— the one who was labeled a monster, by all who've known him and by himself first and foremost— after you tell them about his present behaviors?
You laid your head on the cold, wet grass. Surrounded by nature, the collective of existence. You could never be alone in this world, not as long as you believe that everything around you is as alive as you are.
But are you truly alive? If, in the past, your definition of the word was to express yourself in every way, to feel and to be felt, would you consider yourself alive at this very moment?
Another day has come— it seems you had fallen asleep on the ground. You awoke, a couple ducks quaking as they poke you with their beaks. They didn't mean to hurt you, though. And if you think about it, your beloved is much like these ducks. He does what he thinks would best help you. Even if it has opposing effects.
"You shouldn't stay," he told you, his tone felt like it could cut through metal. You were back at his office again, figuring you could at least help him out at work, if unable to help his inner world. He was taking off his gloves as he was done inspecting some ancient Khaenri'ahn technology items. "Do you want me to—"
"I've given you every reason to leave. Yet you still cling to me like a bloodthirsty eel." He cut you off. He has never spoken to you like this (not whilst he was sober, nor whilst he was in his right mind). He was calm, but he spoke as if you were an object to be dismissed.
"Do you not love me anymore?" You wanted to ask him so, so desperately. But the potential answers to that question shook you to your very core. So you dared not speak.
Such conflict within you. Shall you leave him be? Shall you listen to his words instead of pursuing him any further? You're painfully aware of his nature; to push you away when he needs your presence most.
But it's been going on for far too long, has it not? If he's not allowing you to help him, then really, what else is there to do, if not fend for yourself?
"You deserve better," he wrote to you, in a letter that'll never reach your sight. "Your love should not be limited to one who can not accept, nor react to it," he wrote again. But who is he trying to fool? He knows that this piece of paper, along with all the other ones he's tried to write, will be crunched up and disposed of.
Not even once, for the sake of the person who's loved him through it all, will he allow himself to be heard.

Hello! I'd like to request for Trey, Azul, and Jade with a self-indulgent reader please~ A reader who happily accepts gifts, eats whatever they want, and encourages others to treat themselves just as much! I'm one of these people, and I've never understood people who worry so much. Ex: Ask me if its okay to take something from me, even though I offered it to them. ??? 😂
P.s. I don't mind whatever format you use!
Tumblr media
A/N: Hello! And of course! I’m somewhat similar to this as well so I think it’s so cute! I definitely encourage people to treat themselves (almost to much haha), and these three boys don’t give themselves enough self loving, so they need it!
Synopsis: A self indulgent S/O who happily accepts gifts, eats what they want, and encourages others to treat themselves.
Characters: Trey Clover, Azul Ashengrotto, Jade Leech
Pairings: Trey Clover, x Reader, Azul Ashengrotto x Reader, Jade Leech x Reader
Gender/Pronoun: Gender Neutral
Warning: N/A
Tumblr media
Trey clover
He would love to see your bright smile as you accepted his baked goods! It gives him butterflies in his stomach as he sees you appreciate his hard work. Also, he definitely wants to see your expression when you take a bite. It's his biggest pride and joy to see your expression light up as you hum with approval for how delicious it is.
No matter what he made that day, you would accept it as if it was the best thing you'd received all day, which he always appreciated. He has never needed to use his UM on any food that he gives to you since you love everything he makes! However, whether you know it or not, he would be aware of the foods you dislike so that he can make sure to not use it as an ingredient.
He would be the type to not really give himself a break and he wouldn't understand why you insisted he buy himself a hat every so often or take a break when he had so much to do!
Don't forget that he did spend all his allowance when he was a child so that his little bro could go to a spell driver game. He’s so used to giving things to others but not receiving or treating things to himself.
He would appreciate the concern that you feel like he should treat himself more, but it would take a while for him to fully embrace the concept. It made him feel a little guilty when he could use his resources to make others happy. He's used to keeping the peace and always appeasing others. To be kind to himself is something that doesn't easily occur to him.
Once he is able to accept your gifts and be a little more self-indulgent, he’ll feel a larger sense of self-fulfillment and joy in life that he didn’t realize he needed. He’d be less stressed overall and realize he’s a little more productive while also being more motivated to do tasks he normally would not enjoy.
Azul Ashengrotto
While Azul tends to be a little greedy here and there, he never uses this money for his own material needs. He’s more likely to invest it in the lounge, a deal, a project, or for compensation for something shady lol.
While he likes good things here and there, most of the time he’d have his nose on the grindstone. The workaholic he is will be only focusing on the Monstro Lounge and the numbers for it rather than enjoying the fruits of his labors. So you’d need to convince him to actually use some of his money for himself once and a while. Everyone deserves to treat themselves!
While he loves spoiling you with gifts and buying you all the things you could wish for, you think it’s unfair that only you get to enjoy the results of his hard work. Of course, you’d accept his gifts with joy and happiness, but he deserves to share this happiness with himself too!
However one of the big reasons he loves buying you things is that he loves seeing the look on your face light up when he gives you something. Your eyes basically twinkle like the stars in the sky by how happy and grateful that he would think of you.
Even as you try to coax him to treat himself more, he actually feels guilty using his own money just for himself. He'd rather put it to good use like an investment or something for the lounge. Buying something so frivolous like a new board game, or a coin for his collection seems like a waste when he could use that money for something more productive.
You have to convince him that he doesn't have to spend his money all the time on himself, but he should reward himself for all his hard work with the money he earned. Life is too short to just save all your earnings and never enjoy the fruits of your labor.
He would try to convince you that his investing in the Lounge is treating himself, but you don’t take his loophole as an excuse.
It might be better to just treat him yourself if he gets too stubborn so he can get used to the sensation.
Jade Leech
Especially if you love plant life, happily accepting his gifts would just make his day week. The amount of effort and time he puts into his plants and foraging shows how passionate is is about his hobby, and sharing it with you only makes life so much better.
He loves that you’d appreciate his fascination with mushrooms and accepts his terrarium gifts. He spends hours making sure the terrarium is to your style and aesthetic with the specific flora he specifically foraged from the mountains.
The moment he sees his terrarium flourish in your room, you might notice a big bright smile on his face as he strolls over to it. He wants to make sure his work of art is health and happy just like you, after all.
He used to being mocked by Floyd and Azul for his fascination of mountains, so having some thoroughly enjoy his hobbies is a dream come true.
Out of the Trey and Azul, Jade is most likely to take your encouragement of treating himself. While he works at a brisk and efficient pace, he always seems to prioritize his likes and passion. Like when he has a day off, he always goes out of his way to forage for new things. It would make him super happy if you went along with him. Even if you aren’t fond of the outdoors, he’d be patient and slow down his pace. He’s just ecstatic he can enjoy two things he loves together!
Jade’s cooking skills are just like him, accurate and efficient (especially after seeing him in the culinary crucible). If you try his mushroom dishes and/or dishes he makes with the flora he foraged, it would put him over the moon. Floyd and Azul are tired of his shenanigans and mushrooms that he can’t serve them often at the Lounge, much to his chagrin.
If you don’t love eating mushrooms, it isn’t the end of the world. He might just sneak them in here and there as an experiment. He would make the dish in such a way that non-mushroom lovers would be able tolerate them. Maybe by cutting them up in small bits, or frying them to change their texture (which can be the biggest problem about mushrooms). However, it would mean so much to him if you, a mushroom hater, takes the effort to at least try his mushroom dishes. It really shows that you love him.

my PERSONAL OPINION on ro//nance:
so a disclaimer: feel free to ship whoever you want to ship. these are just my thoughts and my perspective on the explosion of ro//nance since season 4. it’s not my intention to condemn or tell anyone to stop producing their content, i just want to scream into the void before it festers.
your wish fulfillment is valid, but so is my opinion. so if that’s not smth you want to see feel free to skip !!
diving straight in… i wanna talk about nancy wheeler.
to be clear: i don’t hate nancy. i think she is headstrong and determined and knows what she wants. she sticks to her guns and definitely has the potential to be a truly good person. that being said, she is extremely selfish in canon.
from season 1, my interpretation of her is that she’s infatuated with the concept of steve harrington and the status that he could bring. he’s a fantasy that’s suddenly become attainable to the nerdy miss wheeler. of COURSE she’s going to relish his attention.
note: i actually don’t think anyone else except barb, mike, and steve himself, ever called steve an asshole. so . do with that what you will.
anyway, nancy and jonathan act like steve suspecting that nancy is cheating is SO unreasonable. which honestly? it’s not. catching your girlfriend alone in her bedroom with a guy who TOOK NONCONSENSUAL ILLICIT PHOTOS OF TWO UNDERAGE TEENAGERS… that’s suspicious. perhaps his reaction wasn’t the best, but he’s also like 17 years old and protecting himself the way he knows how to. and of course his friends aren’t going to take that laying down either.
i don’t know if any of the supporters of ro//nance have ever been cheated on, but it’s not just heartbreaking… it’s HUMILIATING. and such a hit to the self esteem. and i don’t care what the circumstance is, unless it’s nonconsensual. cheating is cheating and i firmly believe that a cheater will always be a cheater.
in this case, it’s also reasonable for nancy to be pissed when she sees the movie theater because she didn’t actually cheat at that time. both of them had bad reactions but they also both had good reasoning behind their actions.
YES steve called jonathan a queer, but keep in mind it’s a common insult in the 80s, especially with the AIDS epidemic going on. don’t use modern standards to condemn him, but also don’t excuse his behavior. YES he was wrong, but he grew (obviously what with his friendship with robin). and do you really think he’s not going to go for the throat when he thinks that jonathan slept with his girlfriend?
it’s a classic case of everyone’s the asshole but everyone’s not the asshole.
moving onto season 2. BULLSHIT. nancy was projecting. like she felt so guilty about barb and associated that night with the first time she had sex with steve, so she associated steve with barb’s disappearance/death. she was processing her trauma which is totally fine, but also not an excuse to treat steve like that. to be fair, drunk words drunk words.
what she forgot was that steve also experienced the same thing. maybe not the grief and loss that she felt, but it’s HIS house. he has to stare out at that pool every night and know that it’s a murder scene and a grave site. he may be processing his trauma by trying to forget and be a “normal kid.” and that’s fine.
and to be SO clear: they didn’t technically break up. you could say that they did, or take that as your interpretation, but in my opinion they’re not broken up until they have a conversation explicitly discussing ending things. couples fight all of the time. it’s not uncommon to want a little space afterwards before apologizing/making up.
so yes. nancy cheated. and she never thought about the consequences of her actions, especially regarding steve. imagine how he felt. in season 3, he admitted to being IN LOVE with her. and she called him bullshit and cheated on him. be so real, if this happened in real life, you wouldn’t be as kind as steve. he stayed friendly with BOTH nancy and jonathan, and continued to babysit their brothers.
steve called himself a bad boyfriend, but did we ever see evidence of that? he was constantly wooing her and romancing her. like if she didn’t want that, she could have communicated that throughout the YEAR they were together. the only possible way that steve could be a bad boyfriend was regarding their difference in trauma response. which is not being Bad. it’s having different personalities and perspectives. so ??? just a gripe.
SEASON 3…. so YEAH nancy is selfish. her and jonathan’s job at the hawkins post … like YES fight misogyny and feel infuriated because of your treatment. however, don’t strong-arm jonathan into supporting you when he NEEDS that job. unlike miss picket fence upper middle class nancy wheeler, the byers don’t have a lot of money. they’re living on a single income and jonathan works too. like he doesn’t have the ability to just drop the job. of course, he follows her in the end though. honestly, that only validates nancy’s perspective that she’s always right and her crusade for whatever is righteous.
but she doesn’t care about collateral damage. she never took into account jonathan’s feelings. she never took into account the effect this could have on future jobs. employers DO check references sometimes fyi. (also i KNOW that it was due to a lot of misogyny, but irl new hires are often the company mule. like she could have tried to work her way up. she hasn’t even been working there that long, and she a high school student expects to be published within months?? just be a little realistic here)
i honestly commend her because she’s bold and she’s brave. she makes a GREAT reporter. but she makes a bad friend and a bad girlfriend. from what i observe, she takes things for granted and gives too much credit to herself. these are just character flaws and that’s human to have flaws. it’s possible to be a good person and also do bad things. i actually like nancy a lot, but it has to be acknowledged that she rarely faces consequences for her actions, and has never been confronted with the fact that she constantly puts herself first with no regard for other people.
just a quick note for season 4 bc this is getting SO long: when nancy told steve he “almost deserved” to get shot in the face. okay bitch. now i’m mad. bc? what did he do? and like. tbh WHO deserves to get shot in the face. i don’t care if it was supposed to be a flirty statement, it was SO out of pocket.
it’s also clear that nancy takes credit for steve’s “transformation.” if i’m being honest, the only thing she really pushed him to do was to drop tommy and carol. STEVE made the decision to run back in to fight the demogorgon. STEVE made the decision to help dustin and fight the demo dogs. STEVE made the decision to stay behind to watch the kids while they stormed the lab. show me one instance where nancy influences his actions, and i’ll acknowledge it, but i just don’t see it. and i think she gives herself way too much credit. because she wasn’t there by his side working through it with him. she was dealing with her own problems (which is okay), but she can’t act like she completely transformed him and made him a heroic babysitter. think on that.
into my thoughts on ro//nance:
robin is steve’s best friend. she’s not JUST his best friend. he’s her platonic soulmate. when they were conceived, they were a being with four arms and four legs. but they were Too Cunt and Powerful so they had to be separated. they are literally two parts of one soul.
now imagine: ur best friend admits he’s IN LOVE/HAS BEEN IN LOVE with his ex. and she broke his heart. that in itself already has me livid, but if i found out about the “bullshit” spiel, i would have to start throwing punches.
i believe in season 4 that the reason why robin is so curious about nancy is because she wants to know what type of girl steve fell in love with. like what’s so appealing about nancy that she’s the only one he said he fell in love with? and i also believe she didn’t know about the cheating at this time because NO WAY would she have been nice to nancy if she knew.
maybe you guys can forgive cheating, but i sure can’t. and especially when it happens to my best friend… it’s over. like sorry i treasure my best friend….
reiterating that nancy isn’t a bad person, but she just Doesn’t work with robin. putting aside robin’s opinions, nancy fucking hates her LMFAO. like she is So cold to robin out of? jealousy (a cheater is a cheater is a cheater). so it only really proves me right that nancy doesn’t actually care about the people she’s with. does she think that flirting with steve is okay after playing around with his heart before? has she ever taken into account the fact that steve may have been healing or emotionally unavailable? did she ever consider how steve felt after they broke up?
robin did. and she’s ride or die.
and a rebuttal to a post i’ve definitely seen before: yes, lesbians do tend to have a small dating pool which leads to a lot of friends dating exes. (i, a lesbian, have experience with this). HOWEVER, a cheater is different. because you have to acknowledge that a lot of lesbians stay friends with their exes. steve and nancy are AT BEST friendly in canon. if you would date someone who cheated on their friend, FULL OFFENSE, you’re not a good friend. that’s just a fact.
you’re not only completely disregarding their experience, but you’re also forcing them to be in the same space as someone who betrayed them. and that’s more of a betrayal than the actual cheating imo. sorry but IN MY OPINION, i’d never want to be friends with anyone who ships ro//nance lol. it just shows me that you don’t care about your friends’ feelings like that.
this is kind of a rant and totally nonsensical, but i have to yell about this bc i feel like it’s not even talked about. nancy is always characterized as a perfect girl, but she’s not. and that’s OKAY! but you can’t erase her history just to have two cute girls kiss.
it’s also completely ignoring CANON love interests (vickie). which i get because she didn’t get a lot of screen time, but god can’t we find another alternative.
and be honest: a lot of people ship ro//nance so that jonathan/argyle can get together too. or they act like it’s okay bc steddie get together and steve is happy now.
THOUGH steve would approve of the relationship bc he’s a GOOD guy and KIND, i think that robin would have rejected it. she’d defend that man to the DEATH.
so when you ship ro//nance, you’re erasing stobin. because robin would want someone who loves steve just as much as she does. someone who understands that he’s her soulmate and she can’t live without him. and nancy just isn’t that person. their history and nancy’s perception of steve just stand in the way of that kind of relationship.
not to mention that steve and robin are One. like this is more conjecture but they are Literally the Same Person. and if steve wasn’t compatible with nancy, what makes you think that robin would be?  honestly, the whole concept of ro//nance just completely bamboozles me. i’m confused and i’m irritated. because it’s almost like none of you have actually had a REAL relationship. or YOU don’t care about other people’s feelings. nancy kin i guess.
again again, my personal opinion. i choose not to consume ro//nance content, but somehow it keeps cropping up so i do have to put in my two cents. by all means, keep shipping and supporting them, but it would be nice if you read through this and thought about the characterization.

Project Beyonce: The Unmaking of Dean Winchester in Ten Easy Steps
Project Beyonce: The Unmaking of Dean Winchester in Ten Easy Steps by MittenWraith (@mittensmorgul) Rating: Mature Word count: 37k
Dean Winchester inherited his father’s garage (and their family home, and his 14-year-old genius of a brother) shortly after his eighteenth birthday. Their Uncle Bobby comes down to help Dean learn how to run the business, and Sam convinces his brother to take some classes so he’ll be equipped to expand the mom and pop garage into the classic restoration shop he’s dreamed about for years. Now five years later, a little foray onto the internet to promote his shop leads Dean to a very interesting corner of Tumblr, and a mysterious online friend who only knows Dean as his #Fiance Anon. What happens after more than a year of increasingly fond anonymous correspondence?
This is one of my all time favorite AUs because of the author’s fun and familiar incorporation of Tumblr and their brilliant characterizations of everyone and the incredibly witty banter that had me giggling throughout their story. We vividly see Dean’s and Cas’ characteristic self-doubt from Dean’s point of view that has them pining anonymously on Tumblr for a year and correspondingly tugs at our heartstrings and wish that we could lock them in a room together. I really enjoyed reading Sam’s big brain at work, and although he is a bit too prying, it was amusing and sometimes comical how he enlists their found family on a project to bring personal happiness to his older brother by sussing out Dean’s anonymous crush. The interactions between Dean’s found family are playful and thoroughly help to flesh out the story while offering us some comic relief amidst the mutual pining. Readers will adore the Cas and Charlie dynamic, as well. I also love the immediate profound bond Dean and Cas felt for each other even though they didn’t meet in person. It’s through these anonymous Tumblr communications that give them a safe environment to be more revealing about themselves to each other than to the people in their own lives.
The author’s style of writing is always so comforting and leaves me in a state of joy by the last chapter. Even though Project Beyonce is filled with fluff and humor, this story is also about Dean and Cas saving each other from a life that isn’t quite fulfilled and believing they are worthy and deserve happiness, especially with each other. Readers will definitely be invested in our boys’ journey, and luckily for us, the author has created this into a Tumblr Anonymous series with more stories and timestamps, so you will surely become very attached and fall in love with this Dean and Cas!

BOSSIEST Zodiac Signs Ranked
What does it mean to be bossy? Some people call it “Type A” personality. These folks are ambitious, aggressive, competitive, and impatient.
This type of person is outgoing and often appears to be very self-confident, yet they fear losing control deep down. They plan everything in advance and hate last-minute cancellations or spontaneous changes.
Therefore, bossy people are stubborn and do their best to make others adapt to their wishes.
Below, we will discover which are the bossiest signs of the zodiac and which have no problem following others' requests.
#1. Aries
Aries definitely needs things to be "my way or the highway." The Rams are the most stubborn, bossy, and ambitious signs, urging to come first and not give in to anyone.
They tend to relate to easy-going people who can go along with their plans and don't mind calling the shots. Aries feels like they must constantly prove their ability to be in charge, which translates into a dominant personality dictating to others what they have to do.
On the one hand, they are good leaders and are not afraid to venture into unknown territory, but on the other hand, their friends and family must have plenty of patience to coexist with them.
#2. Capricorn
Capricorn is a structured, responsible, and independent sign. These individuals live their life as full-time jobs they must fulfill effectively. From a young age, they have learned to overcome numerous trials and survive hardships, giving them the wisdom and authority to lead projects and advise others.
Therefore, Capricorns are caring and bossy. They speak to others with a firm tone that inspires respect, sometimes without even realizing it. If these individuals have the slightest suspicion that you can't handle a matter on your own, they will put themselves in the boss's shoes and tell you step by step how to proceed.
#3. Leo
Leo is a natural-born leader. They are ruled by the magnificent Sun, the leading star of the entire solar system. The rest of the planets revolve around it for a reason! The Sun has high magnetic energy that encourages other people to bring out the best in them.
So, Leo's are bossy and try to make others follow their lead, as they were born to shine. Most people agree to play along with their cues, for, after all, Lions seem to know what they are doing and help others walk the path of their heart.
However, personalities as strong as Leo can't stand it when they want to call the shots all the time and refuse to allow others to have a different opinion and do things differently.
#4. Sagittarius
Sagittarians don't look as bossy as other zodiac signs, but deep down, they think their way of perceiving the world is the only right one. Therefore, they assume leadership roles and become bossy individuals who tell others what to do.
You can find these characteristics in dogmatic and religious Sagittarians who try to gather disciples to follow what they preach. You can also find them in academic teachers who are stuck with one way of approaching life and cannot listen to the opinions of young minds with fresh insights.
This type of Sagittarian is highly bossy, dictates to others exactly how they should behave, and gets extremely upset when anyone rebels against their orders. They should learn that beliefs are mere constructs that can be rebuilt with new experiences.
#5. Virgo
Virgo is a notoriously bossy sign and not in a good way. These individuals do not usually lead projects, as they prefer to work alone and avoid dealing with other people. However, when they must, they are extremely perfectionist and criticize everything others do, to the point of telling them exactly what to do and how to do it.
Virgos are extremely methodical and organized and know how to deliver effective and lasting results. That is why if things are not done their way, they won't rest until they find a mistake and make sure everyone else is doing exactly what they told them.
#6. Scorpio
Scorpio has an intense urge to control everything that happens around them. These distrustful individuals think everyone else is plotting something, and the only way to keep their sanity is through obsessive and meticulous behavior, which often comes off as bossy.
If they are not bossy and do not tell others how things should be, Scorpio feels like everything falls apart, which is something they cannot tolerate.
In fact, Scorpios are so obsessed with controlling things. They probably prefer to cut everyone loose and do things on their own, regardless of whether this means they have to work day and night until they get the results they expect.
#7. Taurus
Taurus is easy-going and peaceful and does not usually tell others what to do, as they prefer to let everyone do their own thing without disturbing them. However, Taurus can be pretty stubborn when it comes to their plans, as they hate unforeseen and last-minute changes.
So, they will become very bossy and try to get others to do what they say and greatly resent it when things are no longer under their control (much like their complementary opposite, Scorpio).
As long as no one bothers them or tries to influence or change their ways, Taurus will remain calm and peaceful. Otherwise, they will bring out the worst side of their character and become bossy and bull-headed until everything goes back to the way they want.
#8. Aquarius
Aquarius enjoys group activities and resents authority. These individuals strive for a more egalitarian and horizontal world. In this world, each individual contributes their unique and valuable input without stepping on others' toes or telling them what to do.
So, Aquarius is not bossy, but neither are they the type to follow orders. These characters are not submissive and won't let anyone else tell them how to live their lives.
Aquarius believes in the power and authority held within each person. They want others to recognize it so they can break free from their own and others' oppressions and live the life they have always wanted.
#9. Cancer
Cancer is a sensitive water sign with a vast and private inner world. These individuals may appear very tough and independent, but they actually wear thick armor to protect their soft underbelly.
So don't be fooled by the crab's sometimes bossy and rebellious attitude. They will become utterly self-conscious in an actual situation where they have to control the situation and won't know how to proceed.
On the other hand, they know how to follow orders and support the leaders in a problematic scenario. They may not lead others, but they will make them feel protected and cared for until the whole situation passes and everything goes back to normal.
#10. Libra
Libra is a diplomatic and gregarious sign that considers the opinions of others before acting and often struggles to make independent decisions.
That is why they are not bossy, on the contrary. They follow other people's orders easily and trust the judgment of third parties more than their own expertise.
Now, when it comes to a cultural event, a party, or a wedding, Libra is not afraid to take charge, lead the whole thing, and ensure flawless results. These are the only scenarios where these signs can fearlessly take control and tell others what to do.
#11. Gemini
Gemini is a mutable air sign, which means they can adapt to all kinds of situations and people without a hitch. These individuals do not seek to control problems because they are not afraid of unforeseen or last-minute changes.
This sign says yes to life and all its experiences because they know it is better to go with the flow than to make everyone follow their way of doing things. So, Geminis are neither bossy nor controlling. They don't mind following orders as long as it doesn't interfere with their personal plans, and they can still have some leeway in their dealings.
#12. Pisces
Pisces is an empathetic and spiritual water sign. These individuals did not come into life to fulfill personal goals that benefit their ego and serve others and contribute to a much more compassionate society.
So, it is very rare for this mutable sign to become bossy and try to control other people. Just like the stream of a river, Pisces is carried along by the Universe's plan for them without opposing it at any point.
They also tend to blindly follow other people’s commands, which sometimes leads to abusive relationships. Overbearing people take advantage of their noble spirit and force them to do what they want without considering their opinions on the matter.

The “noncanonical pairings are usually wish fulfillment” thing is so bonkers because there’s so much variety in terms of what is “non canon.” By the strictest definitions of canon, something like Anthy/Utena isn’t “canon” in the original anime series because they never explicitly say they’re romantic lesbian lovers or kiss (except in the ending theme, which people often don’t count), even though the entire fucking show is about that relationship and it makes significantly less sense if you interpret them in a platonic way. Same with something like Yuuri and Victor in Yuri on Ice. Most people would call those “canon” (I would with both) but I’ve seen people fight over it because it’s not “explicit enough.” A lot of people who are used to really didactic storytelling — which, lbh, is clearly a lot of people in fandom spaces based on the discourse that gets started here — don’t really know what to make of works like Revolutionary Girl Utena that rely a lot on symbolism and allusion, and in expecting their audience to do the work to meet them where they are rather than getting down to where the dumbest possible viewer is.
Then, on the next level, you get relationships that were built up to in some way, but then the writers later decided to take it another direction. You get ones that got a lot of subtext, but they were a same-sex relationship or an interracial relationship or something else taboo in a time before that was permissible in mainstream media of that kind. You get ones where it was the actors interpreting it that way, but not the writers; or the writers, but not the directors; or the directors and script, but the actor didn’t play it that way. (A good example of both of the last two examples: Garak/Bashir from Star Trek Deep Space Nine, whose actors have both admitted to playing them that way and supporting the ship, and where the creators have basically said they saw that there was something there but knew they wouldn’t be able to get away with that on a Star Trek show then.)
On the next level down, you might get something where it fits into a well-established romantic trope but the creator somehow has no idea of but the fans pick up on it — for instance, maybe they would only see it as romantic if it were between a man and a woman, but this is two women, and they don’t recognize how it’s going to look different to someone who is less heteronormative in their thinking. Maybe the creator just has such a strong bias against some particular combo of characters that they don’t want to acknowledge what they wrote by accident. (Like how J.K. Rowling was so mad that so many of her readers liked Draco Malfoy even though it’s pretty obvious to anyone else what’s so appealing about how she wrote that character, but for relationships rather than individual characters.)
And then of course, you do get some ships that are just completely out of left field, someone projecting a particular dynamic really hard that they wish was there on some characters that don’t have that kind of chemistry at all to anyone else watching/reading/etc. One of my fandoms had a really vocal group get really into a ship like that recently (because the person who started it framed it as “progressive” and herself as a bit of a BNF so a lot of younger discourse-addled people went along with it who also thought the more popular main ship was “problematic”) and it was annoying because they were so self-aggrandizing about how there was all this hidden subtext that no one but them was seeing because we were all less social justice enlightened than them or something. When it was really just that those characters didn’t have that dynamic at all, but they THOUGHT they should. There was a lot of hilarious misinterpretation of scenes that were in context, not remotely shippy, but one character was touching the other one very slightly or something.
But IME, those kinds of ships getting any kind of substantial following is rare. Most fairly popular ships that are non-canon, including pretty much every non-canon juggernaut ship I’ve ever seen (going back to DS9, Garashir is like 45% of the DS9 fanfic on AO3 last time I checked, so it’s definitely a juggernaut ship), there is at least SOMETHING there that comes from the original work. Even if it’s just “these two guys have the kind of buddy-cop dynamic that slash shippers often like to envision in romantic ways,” “this guy and this girl are the kind of lifelong childhood friends that we’re used to being romantic in anime like this so a lot of people started shipping them immediately,” “these two girls have the kind of Fuffy/Catradora/etc. friends-to-enemies-to-friends-again-to-lovers dynamic that makes a lot of femslashers lose their minds,” etc. Even with those three examples, while it may not be *intentional* on the part of the creator, it’s bizarre to say those people are “projecting” when they’re responding to those couples fitting into longstanding media trends that a lot of people identify. “Projection” to me is something like the earlier example I gave of the obnoxious people in my one fandom, where they are just determined to make some square peg fit a round hole because they’re desperate to have everything be round. And again, I don’t think that’s nearly as common as a lot of people, and especially salty het shippers who want to demonize the popularity of M/M or F/F in their fandoms, seem to think it is. (Also, like het-only shippers aren’t the ultimate in seeing romantic dynamics with every time a man and a woman are close at all, and throwing a fit when it doesn’t happen in canon, lol)
(I also think some of these people confuse the “projection” for people who are more dedicated rarepair shippers, where the motivation is often more “okay this might not be here but WHAT IF” than sincerely thinking the work is actually doing something that it isn’t really doing. Again, I’ve met people who are into rarepairs who just seem to have a really bad lack of understanding for what “subtext” is and confusing anything they wish was there with “subtext,” but I think those people are a rarity. For a lot of people who like rarepairs, the fact that it’s not at all what canon is suggesting is something they are aware of and that is The Point. It’s “I know the work doesn’t actually suggest this, but how can I change it so that it does”)
--
In my experience, that particular flavor of oldschool homophobe invariably ships tons of het that is not actually canon.
They just don't like it when 1. anything that's not their favorite gets popular and 2. people think a character could be queer without it being literally stated in the first episode/page.

how is the full moon in sagittarius ♐️🌕 manifesting for you? • june 3rd/4th 2023 • 🃏 pac {patreon preview}

cards: 9 of cups, 2 of cups, 8 of pentacles
there’s a completion happening in relation to a partnership that you have. but this completion isn’t resulting in the ending of it. it’s actually culminating as a wish fulfilment. you and your person (whoever this person is - doesn’t have to be romantic. could definitely be a business partnership too) have been mastering some type of craft together. you’ve both been working so hard to culminate something for the both of yourselves, and it’s happening around this full moon. this 8 of pentacles could also be about a huge amount of self-development and self-work on the both of yourselves. i’m hearing that you’ve managed to both put your ego and your pride aside and come together to really perfect whatever this practical project is. for others of you, you guys could’ve been separated from this person in order to go on a break where you both focus on yourselves. and i’m seeing that you’ve both done just that and are now able to come together again for an extremely emotionally fulfilling connection. with this 9 of cups, things are really going to seem “perfect” because of all of the hard work that you’ve done individually on yourselves. there’s so much more understanding and compassion that you have towards yourselves and each other - and this can now be a much more reciprocal and balanced partnership.

cards: the lovers, ace of pentacles, queen of swords
i’m seeing that for a lot of you, you’re receiving communication about being given a work opportunity by whoever this queen of swords is. she has decided to grant you the opportunity to work for her and whatever business she’s running. and i’m seeing a lot of air energy (gemini in particular) so this could be a job in some type of communications. this queen of swords could also be someone who is giving you the option to decide between two different things in order to plant some type of seeds for stability. again, this could be a job, a living space, perhaps something to do with your health too. whatever this decision is about, it’s going to transition you into A LOT of harmony and peace. things will be entirely balanced and stable for you. especially if this is a financial new beginning. but i’m definitely seeing some new beginning in your practical life coming to fruition based on a decision that you make, or a decision that this queen of swords makes. this queen of swords is someone who’s extremely talkative, clear, and concise. she’ll make it clear that she wants you to have whatever this ace of pentacles is.

cards: king of wands, 7 of cups, 10 of pentacles
this full moon, you’re stepping into a leadership role of some sort. this could be a manager position at work, or an entrepreneur position for your own business. either way, i’m seeing you with a lot of ideas to choose to implement into a business, and whichever one you choose to focus on is creating some unexpected major abundance. some of you in particular could even be coming up to the point in your business where you’re looking to employ people to implement your ideas based on your vision of what you would like to develop. and with the 10 of pentacles here, i’m seeing you developing a very stable workspace that’s full of people who are loyal to what you’re building. for a small number of you, this 10 of pentacles could even indicate that, since you’re becoming the visionary boss of something, you’ll be able to retire (or at least feel like it) and spend a lot more time enjoying the fruits of your labour with your family at home.

The Light Organ by Flore Picard
About Flore Picard: I’m a linguist and translator who lives in France and I have been itching to write since I learned how to. I started writing (fan)fiction more regularly when I was procrastinating on my PhD dissertation, and I haven’t looked back since. I’m also an artist who loves drawing both fanart and original art, and I have a passion for patterns and systems, for the beauty at the edge of chaos and the complexity of being human. I tend to write about queer and disabled characters finding themselves and each other and learning to take up space in the world.

This is Flore’s first publication with Duck Prints Press.
Title: The Light Organ
Tags: angst with a happy ending, capitalism is the real villain, coming out, disabled character, emotional hurt/comfort, family, fraught family dynamics, illusion, in the closet, magic use, mechanic, musician, non-binary, parenthood, present tense, science fiction with magic, teenager, third person limited point of view, transphobia (mentions of) (past)
Excerpt:
“No, no, no—the organ, the light ring—it’s all about the imagination, not the mechanics,” Kas exclaims, gesturing widely to encompass the aether pool behind the glass.
“I’m just here for the tubes,” the tech—Gilbert—says flatly.
His face betrays no emotions, not even annoyance. Kas almost wishes he would yell or be rude, if only for the sake of feeling like they’re having an actual conversation, but Gilbert has always been polite. He just never seems to care.
“Fine,” Kas gives up. “We’ve got glitches. They started about a week ago. It could be a leaking tube, I’m not sure.”
“What kind of glitches?”
“It’s as if… as if the story stops responding to me. I know how that sounds, but I swear that’s what happens. It doesn’t last more than a few seconds, but it’s getting worse. Earlier, I powered everything up to tune it and it kept flickering.”
“Flickering,” Gilbert repeats, mumbling into his neatly trimmed beard.
Kas grabs a cane in each hand and makes their way to the organ’s seat. “I can show you.”

Excerpt:
There was a radio in the room, an old two-way they had found on their last visit and hidden in an empty supply closet. It was still there. They slid open the battery pack and snapped in a fresh battery from their aether lantern. Chips of the meteor had been encased in metal tubing to mimic the lithium batteries of the Before, but they were precious and had to be used sparingly. Stardancer knew better than to use precious energy on something this frivolous.
They popped the battery cover in place and pressed the power button. It crackled to life. They cradled it like it was made from glass. The dials made a tak-tak-tak noise as Stardancer scrolled through channels. Music came through softly. It faded in and out, cut through with static, but it was music, and not the kind made on an acoustic guitar. They adjusted the antenna and turned up the volume.
It was like nothing they had heard before, fast paced with a heavy beat. Even over the fuzzy AM connection, it was invigorating. They wanted to dance. They wanted to sing along with words they had never heard before. The singer screamed their triumph, and Stardancer felt invincible.
There's no time like right now to become a backer and help us reach 100% funded! Check it out!

Cabin Pressure Advent Day 12: Limerick
LIIIIIMMMMEEERRRRIIICCCCKKKK!
OK so full disclosure, I wrote this yesterday. The two reasons are a) I knew I'd be busy today with no time to do it and b) after Kuala Lumpur I needed to get in a listen of my third favorite Cabin Pressure episode to remind myself what I love so much about this show. It was a Good Decision.
I mean, what is there to say that hasn't already been said by so many? It's hilariously funny, beautifully constructed, full of great character moments, and gives us a game of 20 Questions to play alongside of. (Though I WILL admit, the visual of a game of charades to try to convey/guess what's in the box... does definitely tickle me lol.) There are so many different moving pieces and they all slot in together SO WELL.
I said in a previous post that Limerick is the episode I listen to when I'm feeling lonely. (Incidentally, it's also probably the episode I've listened to the most, period. I wish there was a way to figure out how many times, because I wouldn't be surprised if it's 100+.) I decided that while listening this time I'd try to bear that in mind, and see what it is about the episode that just works for those moments. And I think that there are a bunch of different things that all work together-
For one thing, and this almost doesn't need to be said, but it's just... really funny! And listening to funny things is just generally a great way to feel better about things. Pretty self-explanatory.
It's also the episode that, more than any other, is us basically eavesdropping on a bunch of people talking to each other and hanging out. It's in real time, as though we're just listening in on the satcom or whatever, and there's something nice, when you're alone, about listening in on others, especially others who you've come to love, having a nice time.
More than that, loneliness is a bit of a theme in this episode. Martin and Carolyn admit that they're lonely in their personal lives, and Douglas, after initially lying through his teeth about it, admits that he's newly alone as well, after being betrayed by a wife who he loved (I'm still not over the brown sauce thing). For one thing, when you're lonely, hearing other people say they're lonely is always nice; for another, knowing that Martin and Carolyn, at least, will end up meeting people who make them happy is a nice booster.
And for a third thing... well, it plays into what I've been saying about how so much of what I love about this show is how characters become closer through showing vulnerability. Feeling alone can be (almost tautologically) isolating, and admitting it to other people can take a lot of courage, especially when it's tied up in other related insecurities. Martin's loneliness is tied in, in his mind at least, with his not being a "real" paid airline pilot; Carolyn's is admitted to despite her wanting to project that feeling of control and fulfillment that running her own business gives her; and Douglas's... well, it's basically a semi-deconstruction of a mythos. Being left is bad enough, but being cheated on... especially for someone who said back in Fitton that he and Helena were united by a shared belief that he is terrific, this is a pretty big sea change to admit to having happened. And it's a big thing for him to admit he's upset about, and to accept condolences about from Martin; he moves past that part pretty quickly by making jokes about tai chi, but he's much less bitter than he was back in Gdansk, when it was a lot fresher and he felt a lot more unbalanced. An episode where Douglas is vulnerable will always be an interesting episode- and one that really symbolizes that they're becoming inextricably connected.
(I'll also add parenthetically that the flight being one that carries horse sperm from one end of the world to the other is an interesting symbolism for loneliness and lack of connection... and leave it there because, like Arthur, thinking about it too long mildly grosses me out lol.)
Anyway, so much else to say about it but I won't belabor the point- just to say.... this episode, like Gdansk, has been so incredibly important to me for so long that it's almost hard to even try to break it down into elements. And I'll take this moment to thank John Finnemore for having written it.
Tomorrow (so to speak)... Molokai!

ANTONYMPH (Vylet Ponystep Remix)
art by @astroeden
So I just released my remix of Antonymph, and you can read my original Tumblr post about the original song here if you want to.
There's a lot of substantial stuff going on under the surface with this remix that can be broken down into two major things:
Breaking out of burnout
Fulfilling a childhood wish
The former of these things is something that I've been dealing with since the release of CUTIEMARKS. I suppose I don't necessarily mean I've been experiencing burnout in that I haven't been working on stuff. Rather, the response to CUTIEMARKS (especially seeing the reviewbombing done over RateYourMusic) left me feeling like I wasn't quite good enough for some reason.
I think I'm good enough though, I don't think this feeling occurs because there's any merit in these thoughts. Rather, I feel oddly self conscious now about appealing to the more widespread music critic world. A lot of music in the spaces I create in (namely electronic dance music) is often looked down upon in the 'higher echelons of music enjoyment'. Paired with the fact that I do very colourful pony music, it makes me a rather big target for people to come down on.
Going into making Fish Whisperer, I specifically set out to make a project that would both criticize and appeal to the critical music consensus. I've done my part in doing that, now, and I feel more able to try and work through these feelings of self consciousness. This remix is one of the first things to aid me in doing that. It ties in very heavily with the fact that it's a style of dubstep that has been considered "uncool" and out of trend since probably 2015 or 2016. It's a really melodic, complextro-ey, Bend +/- growl type of song.
I used to try making this style of dubstep rather often. However, a quick tour through my discography revealed to me that I actually never completed and released something in this style for the near decade I've been releasing music publicly. I came to this realization only after I had actually completed the remix. This takes me to the second point I established, in that I am now fulfilling a childhood wish.
It's a huge deal to me to finally release something in this style of music. I haven't really innovated on it much and it's hardly more than the sum of its inspirations, but it also makes me super happy anyway. I was not skilled enough or had the attention span to actually accomplish a song like this when I was younger, and when I finally was able to, it was already out of style and not worth pursuing at the time.
So here I am pursuing it.
I think the whole thing of trends in the EDM community is really annoying actually. In some cases in can drive new ideas to new heights, but it can also really oversaturate other things even though there are really cool things to support it. Things like Big Room and Future Bass are considered really cheesy and silly right now, but I think that's because nobody is innovating on those things and making them fresh. I think that needs to happen, I want to see lots of genres become consistently innovated and reimagined. You see this happening widespread with a lot of genres that seem to have this trend agreed upon, like the rise of breakbeat inspired stuff in the indie electronic scene again. I think we should just consistently innovate things. Sound is kind of infinite, so it's always possible.
Anyway. The Antonymph spirit of everything is to create things for yourself and to feel as whimsical and in love with the smaller things in life as possible. I think I'm going to do a lot more music that is considered out of style and not very trendy in the EDM community. And I definitely need to regain my ability to not care what critical people think of my work. I can improve the fundamental stuff on my own time. If people really get upset at me for the styles and content matter that I write about, so be it. I'm writing for the weirdo in the corner of a school dance, not the people dancing.
Love you poniez.
P.S; the art that @astroeden made was inspired by the galaxy dubstep cat that showed up in every other dubstep compilation in 2014 or something. (You can see the full art on her page instead)

Hii! I read somewhere that some of jaehyun's placements (his saturn being one I think) indicates that he's either insecure or unsure about himself and has a lot of inner conflict and I was wondering if you could expand on that.
Some astro musings on Jaehyun - our beloved Valentine...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hello!
Buckle up, this is going to be interesting, because I have a lot to say on this topic, lol.
People mainly talk about his 12th house stellium in Aquarius (which is co-ruled by Saturn), as well as his Saturn influence in his chart.
The 'not knowing himself' mainly refers to his 12th house, and while I do get where this train of thought is coming from, I have to disagree that it makes Jaehyun unaware of who he is. The 12th house is known to cause an absence of the themes of said planet that sits in it, therefore the individual will develope their very own and usually very unique definition of the themes of the planet. The 12th house is also our subconscious and subconscious self, the side of us we don't see/have troubles accepting, but also the side of us we wished we could personify, it is literally the self we dream of being and wished we could be in another life.
Same as retrograde planets, 12th house placements manifest differently than those who have them direct or in other houses. Usually the individual will gain a better picture of how to approach and define these 12th house planets/topics after a lot of retrospection: at best they seek solitude to develope mindfullness about their dream and desires. Jaehyun having his 12th house stellium in Aquarius can add to a rather closed off, introverted and even stand off-ish nature.
You know what, now that we're talking about this, I know a lot of people wonder why his character (at least to what he seems to be showing to us) changed so drastically when he started out as a nct member. Think about Jaehyun during the 7th sense, fire truck and limitless era and then when they moved on to Simon Says, Regular, Superhuman, etc. One theme about the 12th house (more so when you have placements in there) is the disillusion. Since the planets themes seem always somehow out of reach, you spend a lot of time dreaming and imagining what it must be like finally experiencing it, bathing in it's pure essence. But when it happens and the expectations can't be fulfilled it can lead to massive disappointment. To summarize, I think all the reasons why and how he changed his public persona and character play into the ways the 12th house manifests. We have the Sun, Venus and Mercury in the 12th house, all very important planets when it comes to how you connect with others, what your self is, and how you verbalize yourself and articulate your inner world to others. I do think that one part of the massive disillusion of the 12th house (especially since Sun and Venus in the 12th house can hint to an individual dreaming of being popular/famous, and being socially in touch with his world) happened when it came to him being a public persona, the character he had to play, and the way fans had access and wanted to have access to his personality.
This makes especially sense since they all start out as children and mostly all debuted as children, being right in the process of building the foundation of your sense of self. Fame has its price. And someone who has Sun, Venus and Mercury in the 12th (with whole signs his second chart ruler Jupiter, and Uranus are also in the 12th house), he was perfect to be modelled to the company's wishes as well as the fans desired persona of him.
That's why the 12th house his also known for projection. 12th house placement natives spend a good time of their life constantly figuring out and forming the themes of the planet(s) in this house. While they do that, they are usually very lowkey in expressing said planet. 12th house planets generally can lack assertiveness in their self expression too, adding to others projecting onto them and modeling their character to their wishes.
That's why you hear people say 12th house Sun natives are often perceived as trying to hold back and unassuming (or compensating by being overly ego focused). That's why you hear people say 12th house mercury natives only speak up when they really have something important to say, something of the heart.
Meanwhile the people engaging with the 12th house native will read into their lowkey behavior and project their ideal onto them. And at worst, the 12th house person will play into it and be shaped by the expectations of others. Why? Self exploration. Even if it's out of character behaviour for them, they understand that the themes of the planet in the 12th house is without boundaries, there is more to it than other people usually see, so they dive right into it: to experience the themes of the planets in the 12th house is to find and explore the (hidden) self, and that comes with every single possible outcome, good and bad.
I'm not trying to victimize and belittle 12th house natives at all (using whole signs I have 12th house placements as well), but that's why people say the 12th house individual can fall victim to those with ill intentions. And I always believed wholeheartedly Jaehyun is a good example of becoming a victim of fame when we look at the way a lot of fans see him and treat him. All of the members have to act accordingly to the company’s wishes and perform a role as a public figure, they have to play into fantasies, but the character that was oh so neatly constructed by the company (and the fans) for Jaehyun seems to be causing him to retreat more and more into the 12th house shell.
And with that I don't think he is fake. I don't think he fakes a lot at all tbf, his unassuming and laid back nature caused by the 12th house is just too perfect for people to continue projecting onto and reading into him. It all works too well, but it's also a vicious circle. And yes, his Pisces Ascendant adds right into it by subconsciously mirroring and becoming exactly what people want him to be.
Also, Aquarius sitting in the 12th house is an interesting mixture too, since Aquarius is a sign that actually stands for detachement and observing groups. Small excourse here pls do not mind It's often wrongly portrayed as the sign that is inherently just very fond of groups and friendships (that's 11th house matters tho), but actually Aquarius is the lone scientist, the field explorer that joins and experiences a lot of groups for its studies on humanity. That's why Aquarius is the water bearer, the one who dedicated their life to study humans and human emotion. After all, Aquarius has to find the group they feel most comfortable with, since they can easily feel pretty alienated all the time, I feel like that's more so the inherent emotion this sign can carry, therefore it seeks and dreams of belonging to a group often times.
That all being said, I feel like this also adds to Jaheyun's detached behaviour. The members also say he is sometimes suddenly unavailable (doesn't answer texts/calls, doesn't appear to meet ups) and we know he is fond of his alone time, and indulging in his hobbies and the arts. Let's not forget he has a Taurus Moon, this man probably looooves leisuring, lol.
Okay, I want to shortly touch on his Saturn in Aries in the 1st. Saturn in Aries can easily cause feelings of powerlessness, since it puts a restriction on actualizing the self, and using ones power to go for what one really wants. Aries fighter nature gets toned down by Saturn, and on top of that it's in a opposition with his Libra Mars, which is already a sign that is in detriment in Mars.
I can imagine that, especially when we add the themes and topics of his 12th house stellium and Pisces Ascendant, it can cause a feeling similar to fainting when looking in the eye of the problem. It's causing defeat, and denying the self due to limited options. And I feel that people directing who he is, especially under the management of SM, can be one root of this problem. Using the whole sign house system his Saturn in Aries would be in the 2nd, and while now, especially in the year 2022 Jaheyun has had many opportunities to work for brands, I do think that this inability to assert the self led to him missing opportunities in solo activities he really wanted to do, establishing his 'own brand' and ofc making money in his prefered ways and desires caree fields. But also, looking at his solo activities now I'm glad thing seem to work out better his way, allthough I need to check out other charts of his, such as transits, solar return, etc. to get a better look inside of the current energies.
Oh, and on the last note, because you've mentioned 'he's hard on himself'. Yeah, I think when he's not avoiding and detached, fleeing from his feelings and the reality of a situation (typical 12th house and Pisces Ascendant thing to do), he is probably very hard on himself. Saturn has a tight grip on his chart, but how he deals with that depends heavily if he is able to take responsibility, even if it's things that weren't necessarily caused directly by him.
Saturn forces us to take responsibility, the Pisces, 12th house, Neptune (and also Jupiter tbh) influence want him to remain in a dream as long as he can, till the pain is too big to ignore any longer. He might be constantly battling between feeling hopeful and powerless.
He might be in a weird limbo state of being half awake, half aslepp, half conscious, half unconscious.
Whatever it might be, this Neptunian chart will make sure that we will never truly know.

I like Ron, I get why some people want to see his character become more self assured and competent (we get one episode every now and then) but the way a lot of very prominent stories does it by projecting wish-fulfillment and an hyper masculine image (and some weird incel thinking) onto his character has always been weird.
Because how does that happen? at least in the show he was always been the damsel in distress, the moral support, this may be because that was seen as “funny” or “odd” back then, but his character has always been very non-conforming on gender roles, with his skills, role and expression of gender leaning more towards being feminine.
If that’s how his character is. Why is it that a great part of the fandom likes to project an hyper masculine image onto his character, when Ron’s character was the complete opposite of that? I’ve also seen people call his character a self-insert, but is he? He just seemed as a relatable character for both boys and girls.
i had to google the term "incel" and i definitely don't see Ron fitting the definition that popped up. Ron shows himself to overall be very confident in terms of going after the ladies, especially in S1 and parts of S2. i'd suggest it drops off as the series progresses because the writers wanted to steer more toward a Kim/Ron endgame. but yeah in S1 we see Ron often hitting on girls, including upperclassmen, and then there's the elephant in the room of Golden Years where he's trying to get with any lady at spring break, and.... just my observation, but nothing about him seems to say he thinks he's unattractive.
now, did he respond to Barkin's criticism in Ron the Man? yeah he did. he looks up to Barkin so that impacted him. but by the end of the episode, like in many of our Ron-focused episodes, he'd learned his lesson. in fact, a majority of the series, imo, becomes focused on Ron's character development overall, much more than Kim's. we DO see him becoming more self-assured, confident...culminating with his victory in Graduation. that's...that's the show.
he is Kim's moral support yes, that's one of his roles in the show. his motto is "never be normal" and i can easily see some of that being a defense against a life-time of bullying because he doesn't conform to a stereotype. but...does he seem unhappy? not in the slightest. he's very happy with Kim his bestie, with Rufus, he hangs with other friends, enjoys videogames and comic books... we see him good at basketball, eventually passable at football (lol), great at movie-makeup... he explores other interests generally... Ron is, in a word, awesome. easily a fun character to identify with for so many POSITIVE reasons...
now.... is it fun to interpret characters in ways that...mmm....strike at different feels? oh yes. i personally don't enjoy that IF it seems to depart too much from the canonical view. a writer would have to be extremely convincing, for me. and it's extremely common in fandom to project onto a character. i've done it therapeutically from time to time, but i think it's more common for someone to just want to identify with a character.... not sure.
i find nothing wrong with healthy masculinity, in fact i encourage it. but if you mean some of the overwhelming....Ron is the universe's punching bag, stories... or the even more overwhelming, Ron has a harem, stories.... since i'm not too familiar with the term "incel" and only have the google definition, i'll speculate more.... this is the projecting, thing. maybe from dudes who are frustrated being in the friendzone? maybe from dudes who identify with Ron in the way Bonnie views him, for example, or maybe from people who just want to write smut with the babes and don't wanna use other male characters... i feel like that these specific fandom portrayals are less....done out of love of the fandom, and more for that writer's personal preferences?
i don't wanna assume too much into their motives, but i don't personally see those portrayals as canonical and i don't read them. people can write whatever they want, and yeah an overwhelming lot of portrayals of Ron don't float my boat.... (i won't reply to your second ask since it was just clarifying this one, and i got the idea. 😊)

the host project was put on a temporary halt, happy to say I found the time to work on it again- and this is just more my own silly take and personal opinion- one I honestly don't mind being attached to my account
- if you want to, make a Mary Sue/ Gary Sue or a self insert, have fun with your characters and just have fun with your own creations. -
over personally seen a lot of people in the art community, especially in fandoms take things too seriously in my opinion, as long as you know it's not real and you're having fun with your characters and your creations that's what matters, your art and concepts don't have to be perfect, well thought out, or even 100% original. yes absolutely keep it to something you've mostly made on your own, but also know you're making something for you, and if you make something for yourself make it something you enjoy and have fun with, don't let others dictate how you make something because really your own happiness and enjoyment should come first ∞% of the time

I agree to a point! It depends. My definition of Mary Sue/Gary Stu are people who make overpowered characters and break the rules of the world. I've had nothing but horrible experiences with owners of Mary Sues/Gary Stus. Hell, one of the toxic people that were part of this blog's server had the most Mary Sue characters ever as a wish-fulfillment thing. It's ok to have fun, but there are still limits, and those limits need to be enforced because without them shit goes South real quick. Like it's all in good fun, but what happens when that person's "good fun" includes harmful stuff? Fiction bleeds over into reality, so we need to be careful with that. My thing is this: Powerful OCs are okay, just don't break the world and its narrative. As long as you're not hurting yourself or others (i.e. those people with personas who are actively racist/pedophilic/homophobic) it's theoretically okay. If you want a massive power fantasy, go write your own story about it instead of breaking apart a pre-established work. In the case of Lego Monkie Kid Mary Sues/Gary Stus, that's worse because it crosses over into the disrespect and twisting of Buddhist lore and religion to fulfill a self-indulgent power fantasy. Hell, I had one person who tried to merge Christianity with Buddhism to make their OCs more powerful than the Jade Emperor himself, in the process massively bastardizing the lore to get there. In short, a Mary Sue. On a less-serious note, I've had people with Mary Sues/Gary Stus who pitch bitch fits because their super-omega powerful OC that killed and became God wasn't welcomed in RP or fandom circles because they completely trounce all over everything. Nobody wants to play with someone who has such mighty power they have no flaws and/or make the other characters redundant. TL;DR: I agree, but up to a point. Fun is fun, but limits are very necessary. I'm actually gonna let Scott talk in on t his because he was in the art community and heavier in the fandom community around the Toxic Era! ~ Melody -------------------------- From the perspective of someone who is in the art community himself, I get what you're saying. OC creation used to be viewed under such a harsh and critical lense that it really made it feel like nobody was allowed to make anything without it being criticized so harshly that some people (me included) got discouraged from creating fan content as a whole. It makes sense to not want people to ever have that experience. But there is a "however" to this situation.
While it makes sense to want people to just have unrelented fun, unfortunately (as some recent experiences have very well shown), an individual's personal definition of "fun" can easily be harmful to everyone else. We had someone who thought it was "all in good fun" to have a character go through leaps and bounds to bend the moral standpoint on thirsting after minors. That, to them, was "all in good fun" and "just fiction".
Though, and let me be clear, I know that your intention very well likely wasn't to include those types of people under the umbrella of "it's fun and fictional, so it's okay". But that is the specific wording that the creators who do do harmful things use to excuse themselves. We have to specify that we don't mean them because, as was mentioned and proven, they will get in if they have a sliver of room to.
But onto the main point of me hopping in
Personally, I agree that the way I define a Mary Sue/Gary Stu is only if the character in question breaks the rules of the world that the character is presented in. However, I've been on the receiving end of interacting with people who have Mary Sues/Gary Stus and trying to roleplay/work with them. And it was, in no short of terms, downright draining to try and work with. These characters gave this sense of inadequacy, where it would make you feel bad for trying to work with them because there was so much unintentional "look at how much better my character is than yours" stuff each time. Plus, trying to find a way to make a character like that work is outright exhausting. It can really bog you down and make you lose your passion if you keep having to stop and fix what their character keeps breaking because they went with what was fun, not with what actually works.
Personally, I feel like such characters are bad from a developmental standpoint. What I specifically mean by that is this: It's normal and healthy to have Mary Sue/Gary Stu characters as they are necessary to a writer's development and learning how to make more form-fitting characters. However, to say that the characters are always okay to make and you shouldn't worry about making a character that actually makes sense is harmful. You can't grow your skills as a writer if your go-to plan is to throw the rules to the wind and do whatever just because "it's fun". An easier way to put it is that while it's normal and healthy to have such characters, never having/refusing to make functioning characters is harmful because then you never learn how to make a comprehensive story or a character that people can legitimately enjoy.
Don't get me wrong, you shouldn't build your character off of what other people will like. I still feel like enjoyment and a creator's own individual ideas is always more important. But I do mean to say that openly never caring about making functional characters/refusing to grow past the Mary Sue/Gary Stu phase can lead to underdeveloped writing capabilities and can be legitimately distressing for others to engage with due to how overpowered the character would be.
TL;DR: Mary Sue/Gary Stu characters aren't inherently bad, are normal to a writer's development, and shouldn't be subjected to harsh criticism because they are, in some ways, harmless, and it's a perfectly understandable statement to say that people should just be allowed to have fun with their creations. However, there should be awareness to the fact that such characters can be outright disheartening/frustrating for others to try and work with because you let them be so overpowered and world-bending. And while there should be allowance to such characters, claiming that they're always okay leads to people not knowing how to write characters properly for any fandom and can actually stunt you if you're not careful. And while I agree that people should be allowed to have fun with their creations, we have to recognize that some people's definition of "fun" is legitimately harmful.
IMPORTANT ADDITION: When I say Mary Sue/Gary Stu, I mean characters that bend the rules of the world they are placed in. These specifically are the ones that are genuinely harmful. I don't mean to imply any other type of characters who were considered Mary Sues/Gary Stus when I use the term. I feel like overpowered characters can work very well, if the creator can find a way to make it fit within the confines of the media. If they can't, then it's a problem. Those are the only characters I mean to address in my statements.

I really like your style. I'm definitely non dualism inclined. However, I feel like it can become a vacuum of sorts. After all, the true self is here to play with egos and their circumstances.
It's like the state of "wish fulfilled" can be granulated down to realizing the true self anyway. While the assumptions that create the consciousness structures we wish to "materialize" is the medium used for the true self to experience.
It's all very interconnected. I do understand the point of non dualism rhetoric tho...there's nothing like realizing the true self...
I guess my point is, all these labels pin point to one vision...we are here to play...and whatever catalyzes this pure and unadulterated interplay between the true self and its media is all the same. Can be modified and twisted and worked with in whichever way is necessary.
Once one is realized, you'll be doing loa stuff anyway...except there's obviously less/no resistance in the egos part. But like, non dualism first you go back to loa stuff eventually...loa first, you get to non dualism realization. Why not use both of them in tandem from the get go? They both feed into each other.
shifting, astral projection, non dualism, loa, lucid dreaming... all for fun and play...all catalysts for realizing the true self. All have the same vision of autonomy.
Sending my best to all the consciousness curator-awarenesses out there 🤭🤍
i wouldn’t consider non dualism on the same level as the others given the elements of separation in those! but i appreciate the compliment 🤍🫶 i do like how you view them as well :))

3: What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need?
my problem is that i can always be arsed to write all the set-up and context and this is how i get into Pickles (all my wips get out of hand.) i'm sure there's something though… OH i know. it's the ling wen/pei ming/shi wudu fic of my dreams, which involves escalating bets/wagers and culminates in a sleazy threesome but they all have feelings about it but the feelings are complex and unnameable. they are not in love but they love each other but also they don't. but they do. you know.
to get the vibe i want, it couldn't just be pwp though. like i would want this to be a trojan horse of emotionally dense 3 tumours character study. but also funny, because they're comedians to me. minimum 5k of buildup necessary, and in order to do that and have it be good i would have to Get A Degree In Pei Ming And Ling Wen And Shi Wudu and tbh the reason i don't write more poly ships is that having to canon review to get two characters' voices down is enough work as it is… you expect me to do more than that……………….
5: What character that you’re writing do you most identify with?
i've flippantly posted about this before but i do feel like i have an elevated level of insight into the nhs + nmj dynamic due to the circumstances of my dad's health issues/head injury/death lmao. i would never do all of that though <3
6: What character do you have the most fun writing?
nie huaisang is the obvious answer (assigned comic relief at birth. a font of earnest sadstuck. deserves to go to prison. the swiss army knife of blorbos.) but shi qingxuan is edging up there. i thought my beefleaf sex pollen fic was going to be 3k but it ended up 8k because sqx as a pov character just kept going and going and going and i was having a GREAT time. i used to shy away from writing characters who are talky and have big personalities because i felt like whatever i wrote would turn out feeling fake and/or annoying, or that it would be more obvious if my characterization was off than if the character was more subdued… i guess i'm just more self-confident now?
more than just being extroverted and chatty, i think what's sooo fun and novel to me about shi qingxuan is that they're such a doer. after primarily writing cerebral repressos for the past 15 years it's so refreshing to write a character whose reaction to most situations is to follow their instinct… they keep the plot moving! never a dull moment!
22: Do you reread your old works? How do you feel about them?
ah ha ha ha ha yeah no i reread stuff i wrote in the last ~2 years allll the time. i know what i like! and if it already existed up to spec i wouldn't have written it! there's definitely stuff i find cringe and parts i skim if i'm not happy with them but overall i spend a lot of time on my own ao3 page......
///
you also asked about foowd extras... i still find writing + sharing these kind of mortifying because despite bravado about my trans fanfiction brand, part of my brain is still like "okay but NOW it's cringe because NOW it's not 'suicidal closeted trans character is depressed and makes bad choices' but 'comparably emotionally stable character is a known transgender and has some good things happen to her' so everyone will point and laugh over your SELF INDULGENT WISH FULFILLMENT!!!1!1!!1" because the particular brainworm i find very difficult to remove re: residual shame over writing trans fic is the idea of anything you write being automatically discounted as personal projection basically on par with readerfic rather than coming from being genuinely interested in the canon character(s). and wanting to write about nice things happening to fictional trans people being like, THE WORST MOST CRINGE thing you could ever do. but i persisteth.
it's funny because i WOULDN'T even say they are just fluffy wish fulfillment stuff... the four "chapters" i'm planning on posting have a bit of an emotional arc, and what interested me enough to write them out instead of just leaving them as comfy eyelid movies were questions like "now that it's actually happening, how WOULD nhs actually feel about the prospect of not only stepping down from sect leadership but uprooting her entire life to go join another sect," with the idea that, if that were to actually happen rather than stay an escapist fantasy, she'd probably feel... pretty conflicted about it! it would be weird (even if ultimately worth it)!
so there's that. and then there's the fact that the entire original fic largely sprung out of ideas about sangcheng eventually being in a long-term relationship that looked a certain way, and then reverse engineering the interpersonal arc that would be needed to get them there (and that becoming the main fic.) foowd proper ends when they've only just even actually "become a couple," and you don't get to see much of that... so i wanted to chuck at least SOME of what i imagine about straight married sangcheng's day to day life into the world. (not that it's even at that point yet LMAO. EVENTUALLY!!!) if for no other reason than that there's a strong chance that sometime i'll reference something from the extended foowd lore in casual conversation forgetting that no one has any idea what i'm talking about because it does not exist anywhere except my brain
