2024 is a tense year.
For you, mostly.
Carlos is out of a seat for the 2025 season.
Although you know he'll probably be fine in the end. He has the skill, speed, talent and intelligence for any team to be on their knees to be signing him. Any team would be lucky to have him, and it would be simply illogical for Carlos to be out of a drive next year.
Yet, much to your dismay, you're not a team principal, and you're not really in charge of those things.
"Y/N." Carlos sighs, not in frustration, but more with a sense of concern. "Hm?" You hum absentmindedly, pushing at your food with your fork. "What's wrong?" He moves from his place from across the table to the empty seat next to yours. When he settles down on the seat, you simply rest your head on his shoulder, "you can tell me, you know?" You simply nod in agreement, thinking of the words you aren't quite able to say. "I'm just..." You suck a breath of air through your teeth, "frustrated. I can't believe they just...." "I know," He runs your fingers through your hair in a soothing manner, "but there's nothing you could've done about it, amor. Neither could I." You don't respond, but you wrap your arms around his waist and sink further into caress.
Of course, you trust his word.
You're over the moon when he scores a podium upon the first race of the season.
That joy doesn't last long, though.
You're worried sick when he spend half the next week bent over the toilet spewing out whatever had gone in.
You feel helpless.
All you can do is sit next to him and rub his back in soothing circles as he continues to spill his sick into the toilet bowl for the millionth time of the day.
He looks pale and frail as he lies asleep underneath the sheets.
In hopes of making him feel better, you wipe a damp towel all over his face, but much to your dismay, his face feels hot and burning under your touch.
"Carlos," You whisper, hoping to wake him up gently. He cracks his eyes open, just slightly, "can you open up for me?" He opens his mouth, just enough for you to slot in a thermometer. The display of the device blinks an angry bright red as it read 39.9°C. "I'm going to call your doctor, okay?" You ask him, running a hand through his hair and stroking his cheek under your thumb. He simply leans into your touch and gives you a faint nod. "What day is it?" He rasps, voice sounding hoarse and exhausted. "It's Thursday baby, why?" You scoot closer to him, running your fingers through his hair to brush his scalp in a way that you know he'd love. "Fuck," he groans, "what if I'm not well in time for the race?" "Let's not be so hasty, okay?" You reassure him, "let's see what the doctor says. I'll get him to come over here." He simply nods and shuts his eyes to get some rest.
"Doctor, do you know what's happening?" You ask the man as he walks out of the bedroom, shutting the door behind him as Carlos slept, albeit restlessly. "I can't say for sure," the doctor replied, walking to the exit for the door, "it could just be a bug. I'd suggest that you just wait it out for the time being." "Alright. Thank you for your help." You give him a tightlipped smile as he waves goodbye and gets into his car.
You spend the entirety of the flight to Saudi Arabia observing Carlos anxiously, holding his hands in yours and soothingly running your thumbs over the back of his hands. Perhaps his nausea had settled down slightly, but his skin seemed clammy, and he had been having hot and cold flashes which made it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. How was he meant to race in these conditions?
Just before he got into the car for FP1, you pull him aside into his driver's room for just a moment. He simply pulls you into his arms as you bury your face into his neck. You pull away, but still keep both your hands on his face. "Carlos," You start, caressing his face underneath your fingertips, "I don't want you to push yourself if you feel like you can't do it, okay?" He simply nods in response, but that's not enough for you, "I want to hear you say it." "I'll stop if I can't do it, I promise." He reassures you, and leaves to race with a kiss on your cheek.
Your foot is tapping anxiously on the floor of the Ferrari garage for the entire hour of FP1. "Are you okay?" Alex asks halfway through the session, a concerned look gracing her face. "Yeah, yeah," You say dismissively, "it's just that Carlos isn't feeling that well. I just don't want him to overdo it." She simply nods in understanding.
When Carlos finally gets out of the car, he looks pale and stressed. "Are you ok?" You ask him, inspecting him from head to toe. "I think I need to sit down." You nod, and quickly guide him to his driver's room. You hand him a cup of cold water which he eagerly gulps down. Although he says that he's fine, you don't buy it. He doesn't seem mildly alright, so you leave the room with the excuse of using the restroom, but you go get the team's doctor instead.
Unlike the family doctor which you had called over to the house, this one seemed far more thorough. "I think you should go to the hospital." He tells you and Carlos, speaking in English so that you could understand too. "What?" You exclaim, eyebrows furrowing with confusion, "But why? The other doctor said that he would be fine." "Perhaps his symptom weren't as apparent then, but based off what you've described to me, I think that he might have appendicitis. I don't have the proper equipment now, of course, but I'll make arrangements for you to go to the hospital. I suggest you get your things packed." The doctor gave the two of you a curt nod before leaving the room. "C'mon, why don't you change into something more comfortable?" Out of your travel bag, you hand him a t-shirt and sweatpants. You help him into his clothes as you help him into his change. You pack up all of your personal belongings as the two of you are led outside into a van which is meant to bring you to the hospital.
When you arrive there, a doctor gives Carlos an ultrasound, where he's formally diagnosed with appendicitis. "It's a minor surgery, and it should be done within a few hours. The recovery should be a week or two." the doctor informs you as he begins to instruct the nurses to prep him for surgery. You nod, simply unable to speak. How could you have failed to notice something so big?
Once he's out of surgery, you've called his dad, who was in town for the race. You sit by his side, holding his hand as he slowly awakes from the anastasia from the surgery.
"Cariño," he rasps, "how long has it been?" "Few hours." You hum, pouring him a glass of water. "Hijo." Carlos Sr materialises from the bathroom, rushing in to check on his son. "Papá." Carlos greets. "Are you feeling okay?" His dad asks, taking a seat on the other side of his bed. "Been better, been worse." Carlos shrugs, wincing at the movement. You place a hand on his shoulder, halting his movements. "The doctor told you not to move too much." You whisper, keeping your voice soft. "The doctor told you to tell me that." Carlos retorts. It's amazing how he's still so witty despite his weakened state.
The next day, you and Carlos are on a plane back to Madrid to rest. He spends most of the trip resting. You're glad, though. His bout of illness had brought him weeks' worth of exhaustion and tiredness.
For the next two weeks, the two of you are in your own sort of comfortable bubble.
Ollie would drive in place of Carlos, so that wasn't something for him to stress about.
The two of you would have slow mornings, breakfasts' in bed, and walks around the estate to hopefully rebuild his flexibility for movement before Melbourne.
Mornings are filled with gentle, adored kisses and peaceful naps and simply... repeat.
His physio recommends swimming as part of his recovery too, so the two of you spend a copious amount of time basking under the Spanish sun and spacious swimming pool.
He's all back to good by the time Australia comes around.
You accompany to the race, and admittedly, you still baby him a little, but just a little bit.
"Remember, don't push yourself, okay?" You remind him, placing a chaste kiss on his cheek before he gets into the car for qualifying. He simply gives you a knowing smile and gives you a warm hug.
You're beyond amazed at the fact that he's going to start at P2. Even more shocked that he almost starts on pole. And you're beyond overjoyed to see that he seems as fit as a fiddle when he gets out of the car.
On race day, you're stunned that Max's car malfunctions. But your worry for a friend quickly turns to an ecstatic buzz that runs through your body when he takes the lead of the race.
When he wins, you're standing front row, cheering him on as he approaches the Ferrari crowd and takes your lips into a sweeping kiss in front of the roaring mob.

Eh? And it hadn't even been a full day.
Tumblr media
Anyway, do you know what this means?:
Tumblr media
It means… that I don’t give a damn about your whiny gibberish about this top/bottom bullshit, because it sounds incredibly silly. (And wrong because I draw both?)
It’s fine to have a preference, good for you (I have one too!), but if all you care about between a character-dynamic is the single notion which establishes a rule within a fandom that demands only this particular dick in only that particular booty and nothing else, while dividing yourselves between "us and them" while seeing the people who like the same exact characters as your "enemy" and treating them as such— well,
I have nothing to say to you, I couldn’t care less what you think about me and I don’t know you.
But for the sake of other creators who are often a target also, some which I know quit because of this… there is a little something I'd like to say about these servers:
You don’t think I (we) know what is said in there and by who? 👀 That your rules of "what is said on here stays here" with a bunch of people online that you don't know, is actually respected? Why do you think I never join any. And bet your ass that I'm not the only one. This constant fighting between NS/SN is such an embarrassment for this fandom, seriously. I hope you realize that.
Because, instead of encouraging a (new) creator to share something about the characters you claim to love (for fucking free) you go off chastise them for not “doing it right”/“your way”, pretending it's some unspoken commission no one knew of or was paid for. Instead of being happy there’s still so much creative contribution for characters from a story that ended years ago, you go complain under fanfics and dishearten writers, often grinning away with your little server-“friends” and make fun of work someone poured their heart in. Or, you huff, puff and breathe fire as you make plans to cancel them out of pure bitterness, to the point (especially new) creators are too scared and dispirited to ever share anything again. It's easy to do anonymously, aye? And if you think that doesn’t affect their lives and sends them right back into a crestfallen pit of dark hell because it prevents them to do/share the single thing in life that gave them a bit of joy, then...
Congratulations; you’re a heartless bastard.
And you, as a fan, did yourself dirty too.
Do you know how many people don’t want to share anything at all for this fandom because you people leave comments, tags, asks, tweets constantly complaining about an incorrect portrayal of the (in your opinion) only acceptable dynamic, like a bunch a brats? Do you? Because I’ve talked to quite a few of these discouraged creators, they have to hope for the best and pray they’re spared from your scrutiny. I receive it from both sides every now and then.
Again, congratulations: you’re the reason there’s less chance of you getting what you want in the first place.
Do you... really not realize?
The more you squabble with "your enemy" (lol) the more it affects the "us" you care about while the rest of us just bask in the glory that is SNS/NSN and couldn't care less about what you think/have to say. So, keep everyone else out of it and go mope elsewhere.
But, between you and me? There are better ways to share what you think is right. Make something yourself, because what's stopping you?
You’re perfectly capable, it doesn’t have to be art or a fic, maybe there’s just something in the story that you really enjoyed— write about it. Make a meta. Post the panel, show the moment that determined your undying love for this single dynamic and why— whatever.  Because, wouldn't it be nice having someone encourage you to create something you like? 😬 Especially because you and your server feel so strongly about it? And then you don't have to depend on others either?
Wouldn't it be nice?
Well?
Hm!?
Try it, ffs.

Your last Sanuso fanarts are making my day (well, actually night, but whatever)!! They're so beautiful!!! Living in my mind rent free!! Especially the one with Sanji daydreaming during timeskip about Usopp and him in a fairytale/royalty/shakespearean setting. I just know he absolutely loves romance stories like that and he often dreams about Usopp being his hero/knight in shining armor. It's just such a beautiful portrayal of their relationship and how they see each other,,,, And I can't stop thinking about Sanji daydreaming about it during timeskip but also doing it when WCI happens, wishing for Usopp to be the one saving him. Not to mention that he'd definitely love the poetry of it all and Usopp is soo dramatic and would love to act like that around him. Romeo & Juliet type of thing, you know? Going insane. Sorry for rambling about them here,, I just loved your art so much I couldn't help it 😭💛💙
NO DON'T WORRY I'M LITERALLY SO HAPPY YOU LIKE MY SILLY ART AUUGGh
I agree with you 100% I only got into this ship recently (for some reason, even though it was RIGHT THERE) but I also love that dynamic between them, cuz like who else would the hopeless romantic fall for if not the storyteller hm????? I think they understand each other so much and that's why they make me so happy everytime I see them. I can't rlly form coherent thoughts rn but they're so good for each other it's not even funny 😭😭💞💞💞

can I go a bit insane in your box? Have you ever thought about how people portrait Bruce in fanfiction? Like, the pattern. He's either cold and harsh or he's either too many soft (he's specially soft in the batfamily fiction). And somehow I find that both feels off but specially when he's too soft. And then there's you portrait of him where he's both but in a different way that the two options ahead: he portrait himself as a harsh man (and he kind of is but not entirely) but WE as reader can see his soft interior, his thoughts, his struggles and this is sooo nice. And we can see that he says or do things that he don't actually mean it (or he actually do, idk, he's insane sometimes). This is nice, really nice. Sometimes I think all the fandoms I'm in do that, specially with men and with yaoi ships. They make them so... Hm... Pitiful? I don't guess that's the right word for it but idk, it's literally in all the fandom I'm in. People take a single character trait and write the character with this single trait and usually it's not one of the bad traits ahshhshaha
You absolutely can! I actually did think about a lot of the same things regarding Bruce's portrayal, not just in fanfic but in canon as well. Basically, there's two flavors of Bruce, depending on the part of fandom/the characters he interacts with:
Bruce in connection to the Batfamily and the Justice League (father, coworker, most popularly gets shipped with Clark, or with Selina almost by default)
Bruce in connection to the Rogues (darker, more violent, more cruel, most popularly gets shipped with Joker or Riddler)
The problem is that fandom sometimes treats these characterizations as mutually exclusive. Comics are very much so a mix of the two... and I won't start on how the evidence is pretty stacked against a soft Bruce canonically, and how the nicer moments in panels that get passed around a lot are more the exception, and not the rule. If one were to go through the things people close to Bruce have forgiven him for, time and time again... well. We'd be here a while. But it's exactly as you say, it happens that fandoms latch onto one trait and reduce a character only to that. In Bruce's case, it tends to be either his darkness or his goodness; people either overexaggerate one or the other, when we're talking about a character who's been around for almost 100 years and as a consequence, is a very complex and nuanced one. I do try to maintain a balance of both when I write him (and I'm happy that does come across) because at his core, Bruce isn't a harsh and cold person-- he's a controlled person. You don't keep things as tightly under wraps as Bruce does if there's not something to keep under wraps. He's a highly emotional person who loved and lost and refuses to ever lose again, no matter what. No matter who he hurts or manipulates or cheats, he'll strive for the absolute control that'll allow him to avoid loss, and that'll result in acts of immense love but also... of immense destruction.

SCREENING #5 : The Big Hearted Will Take the Bride
“Good morning, everyone!” Josh walked in with a big smile, waving at the students in his class. As he walked by your row of seats, his eyes fixated on yours, staring for a couple seconds before looking down at the steps in front of him. You bit back a smirk thinking about the way his bed sheets felt against your skin and wondered if he pushed back that thought as well.
“I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I know I did” He chuckled.
He opened his notebook on the podium and checked his class notes for the day. You inspected the way his hair fell perfectly into place, his glasses sat on his nose and left little marks on it at the end of the day. He wore a gray button down with some dark pants today, with his usual brown vans. He looked cute, comfortable. But your mind wondered back to that night, the camera in his room...
“Today’s screening is The Big Hearted Will Take the Bride. This is an amazing film and I want us all to focus on the mise-en-scene for the scenes we’re going to be witnessing. Try to notice how they frame the characters, how their dances and scenery creates a portrayal of these people’s cultures. This film is pretty long and so if any of you feel the need to walk out and take a small break feel free to do so. Enjoy!” He spoke. His voice was so calming, and you wish he’d just talk to you instead of screening the movie, but you remembered you were here to learn and you wanted to be like him.
As the lights turned off, Josh sat diagonal to you, in front of you to your left. You watched as he turned his head back and shot you a soft smile before resting his head on his arm as the movie started playing.
***
You turned to face him as the sunrise illuminated his bedroom. His bedsheet draped over his thighs and stopped right under his v-line, which let you have a moment to see his tattoo. It was a small little half-moon with a music note in the middle of the little curve. You wondered what it represented as your pointer finger traced the little black lines.
“Good morning” Josh’s groggy morning voice caught your attention.
“Hi” You smiled shyly as you looked up at him. You rested your head on his stomach, facing him. His hand caressed your head and massaged it with his fingers in your hair which made you want to purr, his touch felt so warm.
“How’d you sleep?” He asked softly, his lips pink and pretty. You studied the way his eyelashes brushed his cheeks when he blinked, the way his lips were always a little upturned, the little gap between his two front teeth.
“I slept okay, thank you. How did you sleep?” You returned the question, sitting up and caressing his stomach with your hand.
“Amazing. I always sleep better when there’s a pretty lady in my bed.” His answer made you blush, giggling to yourself quietly as you leaned in for a soft kiss. He returned it immediately, his hand still in your hair as the two of you kissed passionately.
You pulled away to catch your breath, looking down at him as he smiled softly. Your eyes watched the way his chest rose and descended, the way his skin looked so delicate and pretty under the sunlight which seeped through his big windows. You looked at the hair on his arms, the beauty marks on his shoulders, how every little detail about him was perfect and you were so entranced by his looks that you didn’t notice him playing with your hair.
You hummed as his fingers caressed your scalp, making you rest your head on his chest. Your fingers found his tattoo once again and traced it’s lines.
“Josh?” it felt weird to speak, you thought you were dreaming.
“Hm?” He spoke, his voice so gentle.
“What’s this mean?” Your fingers caressing the little mark on his lower stomach, the moon and little music note. You wondered if it was a meaningful tattoo to him, and why did he decide to get it.
“I got it with my brother when we graduated together.” He said. You turned your head to face him and he looked down at you, resting his head on his free arm.
“Are you close with him?” You asked, resting your head on your arm now, mirroring him. You watched his eyes light up as he prepared himself to answer, licking his lips.
“We are. He’s my best friend, my other half actually… He’s my identical twin.” He spoke with a smile. You smiled big as you learned more about Josh, he was so special.
“We studied education together. He’s a music professor now. Before heading off to university we’d always play in our garage with our younger brother Sammy and his best friend, Daniel. We always dreamed of becoming this huge famous band someday, but it never happened. I know Jake, my twin, always holds out the hope that it’ll happen but he understood my dream to teach.. As a deal we got those matching tattoos- to remind us that we’re still there for each other.” He explained.
“That’s beautiful.” You replied, placing your hand on his chest and resting your head on his shoulder.
“I’m sure you’ve seen him around campus, he’s always swinging by my office.” Josh chuckled.
***
“Professor Kiszka?” You spoke, knocking on the open door.
“Yeah?” He spoke, before looking up from his work and smiling at your presence. “Oh hello, you” he spoke, getting up and meeting you at the door, closing it behind you. “Need help with your homework, doll?” He asked with a smirk, holding your hand and bringing you to his desk.
“Yeah… I just.. Do nooot understand what you taught us today, professor.” You spoke with a small smirk as he sat you on his lap, his hand on your thigh.
“Hmm, what do you want to know exactly?” He spoke, his lips finding your neck softly, leaving small wet kisses on your warm skin. He spun you so you faced him, making it so you were straddling his lap, his thumbs caressing your inner thighs. “Tell me, what can I teach you?” He said softly as his hands made their way to the hem of your long sleeved shirt, his fingertips leaving goosebumps down your spine.
“I want you to teach me how to please you..” You whispered against his jawline as his hands made their way to your breasts- you had not worn a bra with the hopes that he’d notice. He did, he noticed quickly as his fingers found your nipples, teasing them a little while his lips found yours. He kissed you passionately as his cock grew harder in his pants- you could feel it through his pants which made you want him so badly.
“I know how you can please me.” He breathed out, pulling away so he can make eye contact. He looked down at the space between the two of you, then back up to meet your gaze slowly. “Get on your knees.” He ordered. You listened, getting under his desk and waiting for your next command. You watched the way his fingers snuck to his belt buckle, undoing it and removing it, unzipping his pants. Your eyes focused on the shape of his cock through his gray underwear- a little wet spot at the tip. He was so perfect, and you couldn’t stop yourself but you started salivating at the sight of him pulling it out. It was so beautiful under the sunlight, the shape was perfect, the way his veins traced it’s figure just made you want him even more.
You wrapped your hand around him, giving him a few strokes and watched his reaction. He gasped softly and his eyelids fluttered, his long lashes brushing against his cheeks as he felt you swipe your thumb over the tip, which made him buck his hips up, needing more. You kept eye contact as you kitten-licked the tip, slowly making your way around wrapping your lips completely over it, sucking softly.
“Fuck.. hmm, just like that, doll.” he sighed, his hand caressing your hair. You purred gently around his cock- slowly bobbing your head up and down on him as your hand stroked the bottom. You felt the need for his cum down your throat, you wanted to feel him all over- you needed him all over. His cheeks grew redder and redder by the second, his lips dark and a deep red from biting them. His hand pushed down your head slowly, almost as if he asked for permission which you gladly granted as you took him in deeper, faster.
“God… you’re so perfect.” He breathed out as he began thrusting his hips into your mouth, needing you deeper. “I’m close.. God.. take me, baby… show me how much you want it..” He breathed out, his thigh twitching. You could feel him pulsating in your mouth, practically down your throat at this point. You could feel him about to release- giving you what you’ve wanted for so long…
Interrupted by a knock. Fuck.
He gasped, his eyes growing big as he let go of your head, placing his hands on his desk. He looked at you for an answer, what the hell do I do? His eyes spoke as another knock interrupted his thoughts. You kept your mouth wrapped around him as he cleared his throat, his mind doing flips as the anticipation of who was at the door grew around the room, making his office feel tense. You didn’t want to stop, you needed him, the pool in your panties caused by him needed him, too.
“C’mon asshole, I know you’re in there.” The voice spoke through the wooden door. You saw the way Josh mouthed ‘fuck’ and looked down at you quickly, shooting you an apologetic look before clearing his throat once again.
“Yeah?” He spoke loudly. He rolled his chair closer to his desk, trying to keep you hidden, needing you all to himself, and also not wanting anyone to notice his whole cock in your mouth. You heard the door open loudly and you closed your eyes, his cock still pulsating in your mouth as you felt his breathing shift.
“Midterms are killing me.” The voice spoke, you heard the person sit down behind you, the chair facing Josh’s desk. You began bobbing your head up and down- which made Josh choke on his words for a split second.
“Yeah.. me too.. Now’s not really a good time, Jake. I-” He tried to cover up a groan with a cough as you swiped your tongue against his length, your hand finding his balls and massaging them a little. Being hidden under the desk like this was so sexy to you, being Josh’s dirty little secret- it fueled you, it made you want to be bad. “I have like thirty essays to grade by myself” Josh spoke. You felt grateful that his desk reached all the way to the floor, no one would be able to see you except him. You lowered your head until his head reached the back of your throat, massaging him a little heavier now. You saw the way his breathing became heavy and how his hand gripped the armrest on his chair.
“Hm, yeah you do look pretty.. Stressed I guess. Listen, come over for dinner- I’ll help you grade them.” The person spoke, which you assumed was Jake. That didn’t stop you, you needed Josh and you wanted to make him feel good no matter who was there. You swallowed around his tip which made Josh have a vocal reaction, which he tried covering up with a cough again.
“Yeah.. mhm good idea. See you later, Jake.” Josh spoke quickly and Jake chuckled and left the room, closing the door behind him. With the security of being alone with you, Josh backed up his chair with his eyebrows raised, a smirk on his face.
“You… you’re fucking naughty, edging me like that. Are you a nasty, dirty girl, hm?” He spoke, wrapping his fingers in your hair and pulling you up. “Are you my little cumslut? Hm? All that just so you can feel me all full inside you? Well I’ll show you full, sweet girl.” He groaned, pushing you over his desk and pulling your leggings and underwear down.
“Fucking soaked. Just how I expected.” He said, a smug expression in his tone. You could hear him lower his pants more, and then feel his warm tip rub against you, your juices coating him instantly. He pushed himself inside you slowly, pressing his body against yours, pressing you down on his desk. “Feel me now? Hm?” He groaned in your ear, his voice low and dominant.
“Feel how fucking hard you’ve made me, princess, let my cock show you how happy you made it.” He spoke before pulling away and placing his hands on your hips, thrusting his against yours at a fast pace. You knew he was close, and so were you- squeezing around him, showing him how much you needed his cum.
“Fuck.. ‘m gonna fill you up, god.. Baby, you did so good.. Such a good girl.” He breathed out, thrusting faster, pulling you over the edge with him as he crumbled over you, shuddering breaths against your neck as his cum coated your walls, his hands still on your hips squeezing them tight.
The room filled with the sounds of your heavy breaths as Josh pulled out slowly, sitting back down on his chair and grabbing a tissue- cleaning you up gently. He pulled up your leggings and underwear before fixing himself, sitting you down on his lap.
“Thank you. I really needed that.. I’ve been so stressed with homework today.” He sighed, pressing a soft kiss to your neck. “Can we do something tonight? After my dinner..” He asked softly with a gentle smile, his brown eyes looking up at you as his hand caressed your hip gently, right over the spot where he was squeezing not long ago. You nodded shyly and looked down at him with a small smile.
“Yeah? You’d like that?” he cooed, you nodded while his thumb caressed your face before leaning in and leaving a soft ‘bye’ kiss on your lips, before you got up and grabbed your schoolbag.
“See you later, professor.” You spoke, turning back to him before opening the door and walking out. You kept a smile on your face as you could still feel him leaking out, a part of him still with you.
“That’s an interesting way to get extra credit.” You heard before placing your earphone in your ear. You snapped your head back to be met with a brown eyed man. He had soft features, like Josh. The same nose, same heart shaped lips. This must be Jake.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” You responded dryly, trying to hide your nervousness.
“Hmm, I was just in that room and he was alone. Yet I just saw you exit from the same door I did.” He said, a smirk on his face.
“I must've came in after you, then.” You replied, your heartbeat steady in your throat.
“I’ve been sitting out here on this bench reading through my notes waiting for Professor Kiszka to come out of his office, I would have seen you pass by.” He spoke. He was an attractive man, no wonder he was related to Josh. He wore a nice maroon suit, black shoes, his hair was long and wavy but kept clean and styled. He seemed really organized, much more than Josh.
“You must’ve just not seen me.. I tend to blend in with the background most of the time..” You spoke, hoping he’d drop it.
“Hm. Okay, then. Carry on.” He spoke, smiling softly with a smirk hidden behind the soft smile, his eyes looking back down at his notes as you quickly walked away.
Fuuuck. Did I just get caught?

Watched the First 4 Episodes of the PJO Series, Here are My Thoughts:
Cast:
I absolutely love the cast!! They are just so perfect for their roles!! I've seen my fair share of clips and behind the scenes footage to know the chemistry between the actors and how perfectly the main trio embodies their characters, but actually seeing their acting and how well they fit together just makes sense in my brain!! They're all so small as well and adorable that it really puts it into perspective how young they truly are to be going through all of this and the things the characters go through as the books progress. It hurts but it's also endears you more to the actors and the characters.
Walker is just absolutely perfect as Percy. He's such a little shit and the way he delivers his lines, whether they're angry/emotional/sad or just comedic, is simply amazing!
"I am impertinent" THAT PART HAD ME WHEEZING FR
Although I don't have an issue with Lin Manuel Miranda as a person (I absolutely love his works and stuff) it does not make sense to cast him as Hermes, and that's just going off the elevator scene when he delivers the package! Like I honestly can't imagine this man as Luke's father :// It could've been better.
But the others are just great! Their energy is amazing and omg Mr. D was a blast! It's a much different portrayal than I was expecting since Mr. D is so chill and like aloof in the books, but seeing him yell and stuff at Percy to take on the quest just made me look at him in a new light!!
Filming/Aesthetics:
Every scene is shot so beautifully! And the choices they made with the places they add the music too!! Like the entire fight with the Minotaur being void of music was such a good choice. It just makes the entire scene so much more emotionally charged and tense while keeping the audience on the edge of their seat!! It was filmed so well and god it transported me to how it felt like when I read the books for the first time and went through that scene~
And omg the scene with Sally just sitting in the rain on the windowsill :(( That one was so soft and sad istg- any scene with Sally was just perfect, love her and the actress who did such a good job with her!!
Changes from the Books:
It's been around 5 or so?? years since I last read the books, so my recollection of what actually happened and what didn't was a bit fuzzy while watching the series but I was able to see how things changed. And so far, I don't mind the changes that much, like yes some had me staring at the screen like "hm" because they wetn a different way than I was expecting, but overall not too bad!
I did enjoy the scenes with Medusa, I liked having Percy wanting to hear her out and trusting to follow her inside because of what Sally had told him when he was a kid. I liked the conversations between Percy and her in the kitchen and even when she was explaining her side of the story to the trio. It was such a good way to present the scene, to show her resentment of both Athena and Posiedon, and also to show how she interacts with Percy to lure him in and play on his trusting and albeit naive nature at that point in the quest.
I did see people talking about episode 8 and the big reveal tho and I'm both excited to see it but also wary of the change they added cause I've seen a lot of mixed reactions. Some prefer the book version, some the version in the series.
General Thoughts:
I'm honestly enjoying the series, it's exciting seeing it all come to life and the dynamics and just sitting there in anticipation of what's to come.
I'm currently watching it with my big sis and let me tell y'all it's so much fun!! She hasn't read the books so all she knows is purely from when we watched the movies together a long time ago so she doesnt remember much (but unfortunately the big reveal at the end isn't going to be a surprise for her). I'm having the time of my life being a little shit and laughing at her confusion or whenever she'd start yelling "WHAT" at the screen like when Sally dissapeared HAHAHA she keeps turning to me and trying to come to conclusions and theories for things while I just smile or shake my head at outrageous ones. I am excited to see her reactions to certain scenes in the other books, especially when it comes to a certain someones end in the last book (she does not like him rn so I'm like 👀 rn to see if that might change along the way).
Uncle Rick did such a good job with the series so far and I'm excited to watch the rest of it, especially now that news of it being renewed for season 2 came out HEHEHE
And thats it for today! I'll be watching the rest of the series at some point this week and will be sharing the rest of my thoughts then. Thank u for reaching the end haha. Till then, have a good day folks and stay tuned! <3

your posting about the disparity in portrayals of cobra kai and miyagi do reminds of the vibes of how redditors and those even here say that anybody who LIKES sam must be privileged rich women, or even posts preaching daniel was the true bigot even as a kid who provoked everyone and fought hate with hate and DESERVED to be beat for spraying johnny. the goalposts for the good kind of poor kid/rich kids move a lot with the show and the fan reactions.
The Karate Kid is about a hotheaded boy who, through respect for his elders and hard work, wins the respect of his peers and causes them to choose a less aggressive path for themselves as well -
And this bothers people!
It tells you a lot about what we value as a society, hm? And apparently it's violence in boys, and yes, always looking away from the consequences. Miyagi interfered because these boys were very close to beating Daniel to death. Something they may have been too young to recognise (though Bobby didn't let himself get blinded), but he would have recognised from his time at war. And in Cobra Kai, I had such mad respect for them showing the natural consequences of that No Mercy attitude - Miguel getting seriously, almost irreversibly hurt.
Except, no - we don't want to face that. The Cobras do not deserve to be called out on nearly killing another boy, because he, well, he deserved it 😒 We can't accept that this is bad behaviour! Because we don't want it to be! And violence ultimately does not have consequences for Miguel because we don't want it to! Miracle spinal injury cure it is!
As for Sam, who has no redeeming qualities in the narrative because she doesn't face any hardship, well, of course the default opinion is dislike. She's a white teenage girl. What good can she possibly do? And what is clever about Cobra Kai is that Sam knows this in-universe. She can't do any good, but she can do plenty wrong: she's not supposed to be too smart, so she ditches Aisha, who is her best friend but not white and not girly pretty. She can't be as hard as Yasmine or as soft as Moon, or she will be deemed a bitch or laughing stock. She's a rich white girl so she has to date a jock, cue Parker. She can't do karate, who does karate? She can't be sexually available, she'll be punished, but she also can't not be, she'll be punished. And then Miguel defends her honor, so she has to be with him, he's earned her.
She knows she'll be basic if she follows the rules but she's terrified of not doing that. And well, with reason, cue Reddit. She picks out the girliest, pinkest Prom dress that looks absolutely hideous, but at least showcases how she is still a good girl, and not a psycho karate bitch -
And then there's Tory, who so unapologetically is a psycho karate bitch it makes her blood boil. She's so angry that Tory gets away with it that yes, it turns her into a catty bitch - the only aggression she's allowed - until Tory gives her permission to let it all out. But for Chrissakes, she's punished for being a catty bitch by nearly getting murdered twice. But that too is justified to us. Daniel wasn't allowed to be a whimp and she's not allowed to be a bitch, or anything but what she is and even if she's just a basic white girl, following the script to the letter, it'll never be enough.
Makes you appreciate how insanely brave Ali Mills is. She goes for the poor whimp. She's unapologetically into soccer. She defies her parents in rejecting Johnny. She drives Daniel's car, and anyone who dares comment can kiss her ass. Sam wishes she was as brave! But as we can see, Sam is so perceptive to what other people demand from her that she doesn't know who she is anymore. Yes, karate gives her an outlet - but she still hasn't figured out she isn't into Miguel, or Robby, or perhaps any guy. Because forget getting hate for being basic... imagine the hate for being gay!
But who cares, right? She's just a basic teenage white girl, even though that's all she's allowed to be...
And who else would care to think about what that's like for two seconds, but indeed other basic white girls?

Idia: I've heard the audition had gone wild.
MC: Eh... Did you go out to see what happened?
Idia: O-Of course not. You know I hate crowds.
MC: *chuckles* Anyway, what can you say about my butler portrayal?
Idia: You've only said a line. But since you're asking me...
Idia: You're dope.
MC: Aww~. Thank you, Idia. Though it's thanks to you for giving me references.
MC: You're a G.O.A.T.
Idia: *snorts* Really. Anyway, are they going to continue the show?
MC: It has been postponed for obvious reasons. But once Rook finished re-writing the script, we're good to go.
Idia: I'll be watching you from my monitor.
MC: Oh, Idia. Wouldn't you want to watch the show in person?
Idia: Nuh-uh. No, thank you.
MC: *chuckles*
Vil: Epel, I want you to watch Rook and see that he doesn't make alterations in the script.
Epel: Um... How would I know if he's doing that?
Vil: *sigh* If you see that the butler gets three scenes or more, you need to stop him.
Epel: ...
Epel: I think we were too late for that, sir.
Vil: ...
Vil: What do you mean?
Epel: ...
Vil: ...
Vil: Call Rook here immediately.
MC: *reading the script*
Vil: I'm really sorry. I failed to supervise him and now your role has drastically changed from what it was supposed to.
MC: *chuckles* I have no complaints. The story was still well-written.
Vil: However, you would need to come to rehearsal twice each day.
Vil: And, I would like to see if you and Rook have the chemistry.
MC: Hm? Ah. Would you like a live demo?
Vil: ...
Vil: Well, if you don't mind.
Vil, Epel, and the rest of Pomefiore students: ...
MC and Rook: *flirting like it's a child's play*
Rook: What can you say about my majestueux eyebrows?
MC: Your beauty from within is the most important, sire.
Epel and the Pomefiore students: Wow.
Vil: ...
Vil: Rook.
Rook: Hm? Yes, my Beautiful Vil?
Vil: Did you seriously add that to our original script?
Rook: Oui! Isn't it entertaining to see such a funny romance?
Pomefiore student A: The lines are completely rubbish.
Pomefiore student B: However, the acting is...
Pomefiore students: ELEGANT!
Epel: *chuckles* I think it's something my mother will watch.
Vil: ...
MC: *approaches Vil*
MC: Is there something bothering you?
Vil: ...
Vil: I'll be honest. I'm at lost. I don't want to be outshined in my own show.
MC: *smiles*
MC: I've read your lines. I'm positive that no one can steal the spotlight from you.
MC: Unless you would allow it.
Vil: ...
Vil: I haven't decided how to approach this character yet. Will you help me?
MC: Of course. Should I play the antagonist part for you? That way it would be easier.
Vil: I would appreciate if you would.
MC: ...
Vil: ...
MC: *chuckles in a seductive, but mocking tone*
MC: *stops then looks at Vil with such pity*
MC: You are nothing. Raised from nothing. And grew up to be nothing.
Vil: !!!
MC: *slowly walks up to him*
MC: You are something if you're with me, Rein.
Vil: ...
MC: ...
MC: Are you alright, Vil Schoenheit?
Vil: ...
Vil: Yes. *looks slightly embarrassed*
MC: *smiles* I hope that helps. *just then, they received a call and answers it*
MC: Hello? Ah, Malleus. Of course. I'll be on my way. *hangs up*
MC: I have to go now. Don't forget to breathe next time, Vil.
Vil: !!!

also did in fact get to watch the west end cabaret, and i did enjoy it (i live in a world where my mum occasionally visits and takes pity on a poor soul and so we go watch a musical) but i think all of what i was concerned about with it was correct. so pros and cons. or cons and pros, hm... pros and cons...
pros:
sally bowles was spot on -- cara delevigne is currently playing her, but not when i was watching, which im kind of relieved about. im sure she does a good job, but a-list hollywood star and model cara delevigne is going to have to work double-time to convince me she's a struggling overwrought undertalented average british woman (while still belting out those higher notes and being the most captivating character on the stage). i liked the actress who played her A Lot, she tapped into all of that perfectly, and i liked that she took the seemingly impossible middle-ground between a liza minelli and a jane horrocks and was both punky and able to convince me that she wasn't that good at performing in the story, while still giving an actually amazing set of performances
the whole kit kat bar Gang so to speak was amazing, i enjoyed every one of them. they were all fantastic and vibrant, while giving a modern-married-with-classic queer feel in their outfits and introductions that updated the visuals in the opening number to a more overt genderfluidity than ive seen before
the pre-show + interval immersive experience was probably my favourite part of the whole thing. entering down a side entrance into a cellar and seeing performers as you wander through various sections, and then during the latter part of the interval the performers bringing some of the more daring audience members onstage and interacting with the various rows. made it feel like not just a musical, but an actual club
frau schneider and herr schultz were great throughout, my other favourite performances of the show. the place where it found its realism most effectively and of course where the politics is most at the forefront, wonderfully depicted by the two actors
cliff bradshaw is the most thankless role in any iteration, so shoutout to making him pretty likeable -- my guy will never be memorable, but that of course is not the point. he's the camera
cons:
the marketing of being "the most exclusive club in town" was giving a whole vibe of elite, difficult-to-gain-access-to, rich, that just... isn't correct. and i mean, the tickets are fuckn expensive so, it really is all of those things, which was my immediate kneejerk reaction to the show long before i ever watched it: is this show for a queer audience, or is it for people to gawk at queers? (but make it musical theatre and polished, no messy realistic queerness). and you can never know if an audience is majority queer or not, but i will hazard a strong... not. and also a strong "very few people under the age of 35 who would have to really save up to watch this show" as well
to add to this point -- i was watching with my mum, her boyfriend, and my godfather (all middle-class and middle-aged straight people in their own right, but youknow. i suggested the show), and during the interval i asked them about how they felt about the tone so far, mentioning that i found it interesting in contrast to the 1993 version, which was quite grimy-looking, and my godfather said that yeah, it was sultry, but it wasn't cabaret clublike -- and i just. if he noticed that. everything was a bit too polished, and too pretty (with, in my opinion, the exception of the portrayal of sally). i just think it's a fundamental misjudgement of who cabaret is about (club performers and sex workers with no money) and also, in my opinion, who it ought to be for
the emcee... ohhhh the emcee. i mean, okay. i took an instant dislike back when it was edd*e r*dmayne, everyone who knows me knows i think that guy has the charisma of a wet sponge and needs to stop poking his fingers in seminal queer narratives, but the fucking... party hat. this show definitely made it clear that it's not just the actor, it's the way it's put together. funny thing was, one of the ensemble performers (played bobby) took charge during the interval (when the actual emcee is presumably off having a big costume change), and i thought, "now that's the emcee," and it wasn't actually any of the performers' fault. i dont think the emcee actor had the look, but that aside, this show had no idea what to do with the character, it's like they didn't give him any kind of grounding at all. a series of nonsensical costume-changes, popping up haphazardly outside the cabaret (but not with any kind of consistency) a sort of... wheedling, un-directedness to the whole thing. he was disconnected from any kind of time (20th century or today), any kind of place (club, stage, in or out of the cabaret), any kind of anything, and it was the costuming, the way he'd been directed, and the lack of consistency for when he appeared. he was almost meaningless to the story
the politics -- speaking of the emcee -- were really weirdly stripped. the big points are there, it's berlin, people want to party and ignore the nazis, and then two big Moments happen (the engagement party, the rock through the window) that indelibly remind people that antisemitism cannot be ignored, and that this is coming, whether you want it to or not (and eventually it's coming for the denizens of the kit kat club too). but other than that, nothing in the way this was put together felt very cognisant of wanting to either get into the idea of nazism of the 1930s or fascism today. there was a kind of vague effigy performance of "tomorrow belongs to me" with figures that looked like they were saying something about conformity, and at the end of the play everyone is dressed in the same, somewhat bland suit, so the message is... idk. conformity makes the world worse, i guess. beyond that single scene with the swastika revealed at the engagement party, we never see one again, which may have been an attempt to point out how people hide behind the idea of "just politics," but with the way the whole thing was staged (this rich, luxurious location) came off to me like it was letting the audience off the hook -- it's still a story, we're telling it to you as gently as possible. it just felt so timid! all the imagery -- like the emcee himself -- is beautiful and un-grounded, only just enough about something to tell the story without being too disquieting
good example is the money makes the world go around song. the emcee comes up in a goth "harem-like" outfit, with a sort of shiny, rib-cage looking harness, clown make-up, black stormtrooper-esque helmet, loooong shining nails -- there's 5 different things going on here, none of which are grounded, they're just... pretty. give a nod to ideas about wealth, and starvation, and nazis, and (hopefully intentionally) appropriation/exotification, and something queer-esque. look, a man with bedazzled nails singing about how money makes the world go around, at a show where the tickets are fuckn expensive, but he's not singing about that, he's not singing about today, or the past, and in fact the number is so overproduced (all the other performers have taken off their homage-costumes to the 1920s/30s and are now in a generic wavy dress outfit, and they're all over the stage, doing the most, distracting from the words) that you can't take in of the words with what's happening onstage
i hated hated hated those conformist suits at the end. what were they on about???? conformity takes the glitter out of things idk?? fascism. talk about modern day fascism. or hell, lean hard into a story about 1930s fascism if you're not comfortable confronting this audience properly, but just... don't be generic
which also, minor gripe time now, but there's this whole plotline in the musical that's deliberately set up at the beginning -- sally has a beautiful coat. the metaphor of trying to polish up her life on the outside, of refusing to acknowledge the deeper issues, not just with the world, but with herself, that she's poor, she's not entirely sure how long she'll last for or what's coming next, so hey, make it a party and look beautiful... that whole setup is important for when she sells the coat to get an abortion! and they have the setup in this version, but then seemingly forget all about it at the end? the coat they reference isn't the beautiful, expensive fur coat she walks in with in the first act, it's this random suit-coat she's been dressed up in for the finale, it misses the whole point. i say minor gripe, but it does feel like a microcosm of so much of this show. it refuses, ironically, to go any deeper. it still fundamentally wants to make sure the audience is comfortable by defanging as much as possible all the little things that add up to one great big picture
gosh it was long. it was -- with interval -- two hours, forty-five minutes. maybe that's why it felt like it lacked purpose, it seemed like it wanted to pack in every version of the story into one, and again, sally at the centre really makes this obvious, because as much as i think the actress was pitch perfect, i definitely saw the ways this particular version repeated sentiments about her over and over so that she became softer, sweeter, like the rest of it palatable. the most uncomfortable she makes you is during her first performance and everything beyond that is just showing how sympathetic she fundamentally is, how hard done by, feel sad for her. like a victorian morality tale, rather than a 20s portrait of complex, flawed people, and it goes on and on and on with that same tangent
think it was a mistake to fire her at the beginning and thereby take her out of the kit kat club -- disconnects the club from the story, so we're just randomly going there sometimes for a song, and then back to the more grounded narrative, then back for another song that loosely comments on the scene we just watched. again, this goes back to the emcee being kind of nothing and sally being taken out of the club, so that there's barely any blend between the plot and the cabaret setting, either through interference of a godlike emcee, or by sally just going to work
this a bit vague, and not quite sure if i mind or not, but cliff was played by a black actor, and the thing is of course that in the story cliff is targeted by a nazi as a guy he can trick into smuggling illegal materials for the nazi party from paris into berlin (until cliff catches wise and tells him to go to hell). and i felt like there's an added ickiness to all of that if cliff is black, that is never really explored in this iteration (nor the fact that he's being hit on by a slew of white men and women). obviously this isn't the original text, so whether or not to bring that forward in this version, to comment (subtly or not) on racial attitudes of the 20s/30s as another form of mirror to today, is very much up to the show. then again, maybe this time isn't original to the text either and they included that as well, so could have been an opportunity if they really wanted to change something up for this specific iteration
In conclusion: really, very beautiful show, with great performers, that ultimately rang pretty hollow and didn't attempt to interact with the material from a modern lens beyond the trappings. save me from generic upscale "queer" imagery made palatable for non-queer audiences. clown emcee can't hurt me, he isn't real

Kinda weird question- do you have any links to people talking about Mira from ZTD and ableist stereotypes? I mentioned that I was uncomfortable with her portrayal but kinda fumbled it and made some other ND people in chat uncomfortable. I searched for various keyword combinations but most of what I'm finding is like "and not to mention the ableism with Mira" and doesn't elaborate lol.
Not weird at all! And uh, you see, there's a recent post I made where what I complain about is the very fact I've never seen anyone post too in-depth about her at all, I'd love to see posts that do elaborate on that but I do not have any that I know of right now, sorry :/ hopefully someone else who sees this can point to one? Okay!! After some tag searches I have found exactly one post who kind of gets into it I like this take still would love to see. more than just one but hooray
And like though I complain I couldn't elaborate much on it myself I don't think, I believe most of the posts people make about Saito from aitsf would apply since it's a different uchikoshi take on the very same trope of "emotionless characters who cannot function without killing others" I guess he's a worse portrayal though since she's at least not stated to get reward brain chemicals when killing people and I guess her case also has the added layer of "femme fatale" to it? Which either makes it less bad or worse depending on where you approach it from As I said I am not doing a good job of being coherent on this oh and also there's her being "redeemed" and "cured" in the epilogue which in on itself is kinda not great to imply it just goes away like that and honestly I personally don't even buy it I think she'd just be like oh okay Akane over here has like a thousand reasons to hate me after all that oh and what's that she's the leader of a super wealthy underground organization who's organized one of these death traps before yeah no I'm better off going to prison I'll be fine there lmao bye
But I'll say as an autistic person with relatively low empathy I usually see a character who just doesn't understand other people's feelings and wants to feel them too and is just trying to survive despite getting no help and I just kinda go hm. yeah. shout-out to roxas kingdom hearts shout out to mary from ib shout out that's why I started hyperfixating on media art helps me with understanding others a great lot and Mira is just in a story too badly executed for me to care or even begin to wrap my head around tbh like god she's so fucking terribly used as a plot device in every conceivable way that it makes it difficult to see past it and into what she could possibly be if it weren't for the stereotype of equalling low empathy with no compassion what's with her killing off screen in ways that wildly deviate from her stated m.o? why or how was she even in cahoots with Zero why was that a thing? Honestly her dynamic with Sean could have been better fleshed out could have done something interesting about robot child and his aspd big sis but we just kind of don't get any attention brought to the subject of emotions and the authenticity there of except for the "reveal"...
YOU KNOW WHAT that's probably one huge reason it feels so fucked up actually! Like the whole fucking game is written so you could experience it in whatever order you want and therefore Mira being a serial killer at all is something that though not very well hidden it also cannot be a topic of discussion or explored Ever ever because the player may not have seen the fragment where that is revealed yet- problem being the menu design of that game sucks so bad and practically everyone gravitates towards the same few more interesting looking thumbnails first and then the rest is kinda just there, I mean that is part of the reason A Lot of characters feel half-baked I think but also I think it definitely does impact perception of her character specifically probably The Most and then there's just the general not being given nuance not being able to see the minutiae of how that disorder manifests in her character aside from the killings about how she acts aside from being overly flirty trying to lure in Eric but that affects pretty much all of the new cast we don't have last names and in her case we barely have any backstory at all like Saito is a harmful stereotype sure but we get So Much Context for him that people still love talking about him and delving into different aspects of his life since we have that very well telegraphed in the narrative meanwhile for Mira all we can do is fill in the blanks guesswork that only highlights the worst aspects of the surface level portrayal we got and ultimately that people just don't care enough to dissect because there isn't much there character wise once you remove it

animation was MESMERIZING
nino and alya were really well done, I love them. loved nino already having a crush on her. individually, I loved how they were such great friends to mari and adrien
every time I saw a cameo from the show, I screamed. "don't be bemused, it's just the news" YEAH!!!
LUKA!!!!!!!! LUKA!!!!!!!!! LUKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I'm so sad she didn't say "miraculous ladybug!" when fixing paris
"Chloe, enough. The adults are talking. Why don't you go fix your hair? It looks like a rat's nest" OHHHHH SHE IS EVERYTHING TO ME
adagio for strings playing in that scene was fucking insane
careless whisper as cat noir fell in love was fucking INSANE
do kids need fart jokes in the year of our lord 2023. has it ever been funny
the cataclysm was really well done. I felt adrichat's shock and fear of his own power (and maribug beautifully fixing paris after that was unintentionally so funny. he's really the Rogue to her Professor X)
love how messy ladynoir got, just like the show
I think adrichat and maribug were really well portrayed/adapted. though marinette revealing her identity was......... hm. I get it. but. hm
gabriel went from this guy to this girl so quick:
Tumblr media
gabriel you fuck.... you had me believing..... I came here with an open heart..... bitch
I... didn't like the songs much 👉‍👈‍ I would say I vibed the most with the villain song, but yeah.... I wish they were each more distinctive, that each character had a signature style, and the duets combined both
adrien saying he hadn't smiled and meant it for such a long time, nooooo 😭😭😭😭 SON I HAVE A PEN, LET ME SIGN THE ADOPTION PAPERS
adrien standing up to cringefail gabriel !!!!!!!
loved their portrayal of sabrina
loved the progression of villains, loved them bringing the mime back, loved the saving paris montage in the middle of the movie
loved marinette growing in confidence, and loved how they showed her anxiety in the beginning
the fair festival chaos got me GOOD I was PUMPED
when I realized marinette was singing on top of ladybug spots !!!!
adrien's transformation ate
this didn't happen too often, but some shots kind of felt like they dragged? tikki would ask something, and instead of going to marinette, we stared at tikki for like 5 seconds after that 😅
"he's not my-- I MEAN, her boyfriend" babygirl..........
them cutting to "THE END" like THAT. BRILLIANT. BUT WHOSE IDEA WAS IT. I JUST WANNA TALK
marinette carefully listening to adrien talk about his mother might be the most important scene of the movie for me

Of course, Experimentation by Redlance. Tried and true and NOW COMPLETE OMG???
Literally anything by iPhone. Hella creative, great voice and characterization. I've had multiple iPhone stories open in my tabs for literally years.
I used to reread over and over a story called Favorite Record, where Beca was a single mother and Chloe was an old schoolmate and they reconnect. But it's GONE AND I'M SAD, SO IF YOU FIND IT, SEND IT TO ME PLS AND THX.
Baby, I Know Places We Won't Be Found by hedaswolf (amazing author name, I'm js.)
Forgive Me These November Days by obstinate_questionings. So good. There's a specific line that I've never forgotten even though it's been years since I read it. "Chloe’s heart was too full as she stared at the girl who, so it appeared, would follow her anywhere." Like, stab me in the face, it would be a faster death than this wtf.
Irrational by Grotchon, which I just recently found. It's still in progress and I'm STRESSED waiting for more! But so worth reading immediately so we can all hold hands and wait for more together.
And if you're looking for something that ISN'T Bechloe, I will offer up:
Allegiance and, its second part, Avowal, by fullyajar. Shannara Chronicles, Princess Rover. Hella well written. An exceptional talent for setting and horror. So good, dude.
Satin Town by coalitiongirl/absolutely anything by coalitiongirl. Once Upon A Time, Swan Queen. Love me some fantasy setting and dark intrigue. Like, Ow, but it's real good.
Safe by SgtMac. Another story I revisit often because it's so well written and because it really touches on healing sometimes needing space and pain.
Our Hearts (Have Minds of their Own) by EffortlesslyOpulent. It's been a while since I read this one, but I seem to recall a VERY interesting scene on the edge of a bed somewhere? Hm.
Banishment by tothevision. It's been a very long time since I read this one, but I remember it being very well written and having a great portrayal of guilt vs. anger.
And A Different Landing by RhinoMouse. The 100, Clexa. Amazing writing style and a real gift for switching perspectives that I haven't found elsewhere. That story's writing style has inspired a (secret) future Bechloe story of mine, so it deserves some reads.
Think that's enough for now lol. Hope y'all enjoy!

Hey there! I’m back yet again with more scarvio headcannons for your event! I recently started replaying the game and have so many thoughts but! I’ll keep it limited lol. I’m getting kinda close to the end of starfall street and have decided that despite his bratiness Ortega definitely has a super sweet and soft side! Wether this is canon or not I’m not sure (it’s been awhile since I’ve done the story and don’t remember) but I still think it’s a nice concept! And if possible can you do a reader insert? (platonic please!) if you don’t feel like it it’s all good, I know I send in a lot of reader stuff and it can probably get boring after awhile. I’m just a huge sucker for self insert stuff lol. Thanks in advance and I hope you’re doing well!!! -⚡️
{Headcanons to Dabbles: CLOSED!}
ORTEGA!!! Oh man- I freaking love him! While not my favorite of the Starfall crew (admittedly I don't have a favorite as I love them all so much Atticus) I adore him with my entire heart and soul! This was a joy to write for you friend! I've gotcha covered! :D (And don't ever worry about your requests/headcanons being boring! On the contrary I think they're freaking awesome! You always give me the best characters to write for!)
Ortega was…a lot.
Mechanically speaking, he was brilliant- his hands were golden as they turned simple shapes into incredible machinery for Team Starfall to use in battle. He was meticulous, thorough, and still somehow remained ridiculously cute smudged in motor oil.
“Careful, you klutz!”
He was also a bit of a brat. Okay- a full brat.
“Sorry.” You stepped back from the table, admiring the various trinkets and do-hickies across the cloth. “And I’m not a klutz! That was one time!”
“One time falling into my tool setup, two times spilling pink paint everywhere, another time dropping water all over yourself and- how many times have you stumbled and flopped on your butt?” He sent a cheeky grin over his shoulder at you, hands deep within the wiring of the starmobile. He laughed when you pouted, mildly vexed.
“Whatever.” You flopped into the nearest seat, sinking further in your chair as his soft titters carried on. What were you expecting?
Some time passed when he called out again. “(Y/N).”
“Hm?”
“The desk beside you, could you open the second drawer?” When you glared, he sighed. “Please?”
“....Fine.” You did as told only to pause. Among the various screwdrivers and extra wiring sat…
“Yeah, it’s just some whatever piece I was tinkering with. Not much to look at, but I guess you can have it if you want.” He folded his arms with a huff as you carefully pulled out the statue, shaped into a glorious portrayal of your go-to pokemon. Despite his claims, the craft was clearly handled with care- the edges smooth and flawless and the effects of the Pokemon’s typing visible with brightly colored resin. Your go-to was posed in an incredible way- badass and powerful and truly amazing.
“Ortega…did you make this for me?” You asked, looking over to find him having returned to his work. You might have been hallucinating, but you couldn’t help but note the growing flush against the back of his neck.
“Pfft- please. Like I said, I was tinkering. But…if you really like it-”
“I love it!” You cried, heart racing as you looked at the various angles. “I adore it! Thank you so much!”
“L-Like I said- it’s only a tinker!” Ortega fussed, neck coloring more as the blush spread to his ears. “But…yeah, I’m glad you love it.”
You grinned at him one more time before carefully placing the statue on the desk, leaning into your arms as you gazed upon its beautiful form.
Ortega might have been a brat, but when the softer parts come out; it makes it all worth it.

nocturne review, ramblings
obvs spoilers for the show down below.
so, i'm gonna be real with y'all; i dont think i would have watched this if not for one of my mutuals spilling the beans about alucard making an appearance 💀 s4 was ok and a fine conclusion to the og castlevania that started this animated franchise, but i dont think i will ever get over the absolute fumble and frankly, insulting way they wrapped up s3. even s4 had its cringe moments, like lenore getting a peaceful sendoff and carmilla getting to kill herself. but, i digress. i was going into nocturne with an already negative mindset and that may have made me more critical of the show. can u blame me though? lmao
i had seen a few clips and screenshots on twitter when they dropped the first 3 eps early and... they only helped solidify my decision to remain skeptical of the staff's writing capabilities. shit was already a little hazy and wishy-washy with their portrayal of isaac in s2 and how they treated hector thruought the show (not to mention the two asian-coded characters in s3). let's just say, the netflix castlevania team doesnt have the greatest track record when it comes to writing poc characters. so, when i saw screengrabs just outright stating that this show was going to deal with historically accurate racism? hm.
obvs as a white woman, i can only go so far on this criticism of the writing, but i dont really understand why they needed to include this? the comparisons and allegory of freedom from indentured servitude to the french revolution, was very weak and bare bones at best. you can keep the motif of the church existing on exploitation and blood of the people-- a whole cross section of the world was involved in the crusades, which is the priests & his entourages whole deal--but, why couldnt annette just be a witch? why did this "historical accuracy" need to get involved with the time period? bcuz the french revolution was name dropped? your main villain is a hungarian countess from the 16th century that made a pact with an EGYPTIAN goddess to become all powerful. like.
and also..... why the FUCK are vampires getting involved with the intercontinental slave trade bro??? 😭 theyre immortal beings that have seen the rise and fall of empires and can do whatever tf they want and go wherever tf they want and they choose to..... own a plantation? give af abut the economy? with selling goods??? okkkkk. also, this line of dialogue is insane to me:
Tumblr media
you cant have a central theme of your story be standing up against the oppressors and then make said oppressors fantastical monsters. what kills me is that they've delved into the monstrosity of humanity in s1 and s2, and yet, when you bring in one of the most monstrous things humanity has ever done in its history for the sake of historical accuracy, you turn the very perpetrators into something mythical, and evil that the common folk had no chance of ever defeating even if they tried. its just overall, very messy and they certainly were not the creative team to try and tackle something like this.
speaking of, the writing, again, it definitely left something to be desired. there are moments that are good, don't get me wrong. episode 6 is a particular favorite of mine, shining through with its wonderful character moments b/w annette's soul searching with her ancestors, richter and juste's heart to heart, and olrox's confessions to mizrak. tera's sacrifice to ensure maria's safety is also really well done, as well as maria's final confrontation with her father in the church. however, these were fewer and farther between than i would have liked. a lot of the scenes that played out just fine, were ultimately sullied by this series' incessant need to insert swearing into every other sentence. its something that bothered me nearing the end of s4 especially, and i've just grown tired of it. it honestly takes me out of the scene to constantly hear fuck thrown out every 2 seconds for literally... no reason. i promise y'all can write meaningful and impactful dialogue without having your characters swear lmao
the writing itself is what unfortunately makes the first half of the show kind of drag a bit. the story doesn't really know what it wants to do. none of these new characters are really given time to breathe and be really fleshed out, bcuz every time things settle down and we're given the chance to learn more about their motivations, its like they're almost scared they'll lose your attention and any down time is immediately followed up with an intense action sequence. which, dont get me wrong, if theres one thing they dont disappoint with--its the action. but, i dont think that was ever up for debate to begin with. however, i believe that the characters really suffer bcuz of this. if you've never played the games, which, i believe most people tuning in to watch these series never have, you would have no idea who maria or richter are, and, i really don't think they were given enough time to be fleshed out. half the time, richter's dialogue just ends up being naive, walmart trevor belmont sarcastic one-liners and poor maria ping-pongs b/w the blandest, generic, wonderbread toutings of 'revolution' or calling richter a dick, wanker, or anything in b/w. episode 6, one of the better episodes as mentioned previously, is where we really get to see some actual growth around richter especially. there were moments where his trauma could have been further explored earlier, but they kind of got shoved to the wayside in favor of dragging out the interworking bw all the villains. which.....
if i'm gonna talk about the villains. my initial thoughts were that nocturne was going to be a one-and-done, standalone series with its own self contained story that would be wrapped up in these 8 episodes. i was wrong. and i really dont know how they're going to keep this story going. erzsebet is already a very weak and uninteresting and, honestly, confusing ? villain? for more than half of the series, she's talked about as the mysterious and all powerful Messiah and theyre gathering all these sacrifices for her to bring her back and create an army of night creatures. why is she considered powerful? bcause she made a pact with Sekhmet, an egyptian goddess. why did she do this? who knows! why does she have such a devoted cult of loyal followers when she hasnt done anything but kill a lot of people? again, who knows. why did maria's father think that a VAMPIRE would keep him in cahoots during this whole plan and not immediately fuck him over once she got what she wanted...? who fucking knows. olrox is the most interesting of the villains but even he isnt fully explored. the motivations are just not really explained very well and the buildup to erzsebet's arrival was so sudden that i literally thought i missed an entire episode. one minute, shes hiding in the shadows and the next ? waltzing in on a golden chariot and being heralded as the people's savior?? so damn messy and honestly? i really could not have cared less about her. which is insane to say, bcuz shes literally based off of a real countess who's case and life were a special interest of mine. i just... why an EGYPTIAN goddess?? shes from HUNGARY. were there no goddesses in europe to pull from she could have made a pact with? idk man it just makes no damn sense.
i am definitely more than a little peeved that this wasn't even the complete story, bcuz they did such a poor job establishing erzsebet as a villain, that i really dont give af what crazy shit they come up with to extend the story. you show her being a big badass in the very last episode. ok, you as an audience member, are immediately shown why dracula is so feared within the first 10 minutes of the first episode. and all of that wasnt even HIM fighting!!! the worst thing i've seen miss countess bathory do over here is summon a crazy orb and turn into a furry. like, where is the story going to go from here? they fight tera? save edouard and have a night creature alliance? make maria or alucard (yes, i'll get to him) summon the portal again? which btw... machine from HELL? im not even gonna touch that can of worms. somehow bring olrox back to.....? help kill bathory? idfk
and man...... i was hoping against hope that when i found out alucard was going to make an appearance, that it was just going to be some neat little cameo at the v end of the series after the main story had concluded. a little nod, a little treat to the audience that the next series would be encompassing the events of symphony of the night. maybe we'd even get a depiction of maria and richter when theyre older, i dont know, anything but throwing him in there as an overpowered hail mary to save the day. we couldnt just let these new characters figure it out and triumph in their own way? we had to drag him into this, now? i cant even tell you how disappointed i was when i saw that sword pierce drolta. ME! the resident alucard fan since i was like mf elementary school!!! ugh.
i think this is it for me and netflix castlevania lmao im a grumpy old man and miss when it was mainly fun easter eggs to the games, like how they brought in juste or how olrox turns into a big green monster and has an attack that sends flying skulls your way, or the REMIX of RICHTER'S THEME!!! but its just gotten so silly and the writing hasnt gotten any better..... from now on, im going to simply stick to the games that made me fall in love with this series in the first place & let this be the last time i ever feel the need to bitch about new 'netflixvania' content.

Hello!! I know your post was about a day ago, but here's some asks anyway:
What's the last movie you watched for the first time? Did you like it?
What was the last thing you drew?
What was the last music you discovered that you loved?
I hope you are having a good day! ☀️
Hey, thanks for sending these, buddy! It’s so kind of you! I hope you have had a good day, too. ❤️
The last movie I watched for the first time was “Requiem For A Dream”. I did really enjoy it, actually! Exactly how accurate it’s portrayal of the effects of certain drugs are, or how realistic it’s depiction of the addiction spiral is, I cannot attest to. But, I thought it was a really good story about how things that should not have mattered in the first place can get in the way of life. The acting was really solid, and I most enjoyed the cinematography and music!
The last thing I drew was this:
Tumblr media
The boys! Not too good, I sketched it in pen on my lunch break. Gosh darn it, I am determined to make muji pens work for me!
Hm, if we are talking genre, I guess you could say grunge. I never disliked grunge at all, but I never used to listen to it much. Just recently, I have been listening to a lot of grunge playlists and there are certain songs I am really into at the moment, that I just play again and again! I have also developed a recent affection for cheesy 2000s pop/dance music. We’ve been listening to it at work and getting all nostalgic, and I’m feeling a lot more well disposed to it than I used to be.
Thanks again for these, honey! I hope you have a good evening. ✨
