Price is already softly crying but now you’ve made this man want to sob. He puts the baby down since it’s late, poor thing basically just got cleared to go home.

He kneels by the crib, finger still in the baby’s grasp as it sleeps and Price is just done for. He’s doing everything possible not to wake this baby. He’s so grateful he got this chance, and he’s not going to waste it.

Now Price is going to need soothing because his heart can’t take this moment. His hand is over his mouth to help him choke down sobs. Just you and him and now the kid he always dreamed of? He’s going to be the best dad and there’s nothing that can stop him.

Soap

It’s crazy how forgetting to put on a condom once can change your whole life.

He immediately plants a kiss back on your head, telling you to go get rest. He’s going to spend the first months of this baby’s life sleeping in the room with it. The faintest cry or struggle has him up. He’s already got it all planned.

Never going to make this life feel like an accident, no this child is an accomplishment of good sex and a wonderful choice to keep it. Maybe it wasn’t an accident after all, maybe it was meant to be.

He mumbles all kinds of thanks to the universe. He’s already named Simon and the rest of the 141 the godfathers, he couldn’t stop making mafia jokes. But now he has no jokes or witty comments, just love for his wife and his baby.

Ghost

Simon is scared shitless.

He lost his last family, he can’t lose this one too. He’s already updated the house’s security. But maybe he should upgrade it more. There’s so much more he can do, he can feel his heart rate rising.

He mumbled endless promises of safety. You have to remind him the live in the moment, that those are all things that he can do tomorrow.

Thats when he starts to get emotional. You can see it in how he squints before he pulled off his baklava.

This is one of two days that’s proven Simon Riley still exists somewhere in Ghost. This proves that Simon Riley didn’t die. This proves what Price told you when you married him, that Ghost was a fortress built to protect Simon.

Gaz

He’s been crying since the baby was born. It’s not sobs but to him this child is the ultimate testimony of your love. Of your marriage even. He still doesn’t believe it. His world now revolves around this baby.

He still doesn’t believe its his child. Sure it looks like him but would an angel like you truly grace him with this? After all the terrible things he’s done and seen in the midst of battle?

He plants a kiss right back, running his thumb over the cheek of the baby. He knows he has to put it to bed but can't he hold his kid a little longer?

He may just stay here, just for one night. Just with his kid. He has so many stories to tell. He has to introduce the baby to his team and his family.

He knows he has to wait, but he cant help it.

Konig

He still doesn’t believe it. His anxiety tells him it’s a trap set by the enemy, that he couldn’t be loved, that a woman wouldn’t want to have his offspring.

But that all melts away when he turns to see you. He’s holding a baby he was surprised your body could push out, he knows this child is his without a doubt because of its sheer size and weight.

He places fluttering kisses all over your face.

He mentions keeping the baby in your shared room, just so he can keep an eye on it he swears. Oh he promises it won’t disturb you he swears.

It wasn’t even an option to tell him no, he was already carrying the baby in on arm with a secure hold and the crib in another. He hasn’t taken his eyes off your baby for even a second and getting him to sleep will be another struggle.

Krueger

Sebastian isn’t crying, you’re crying. What do you mean there’s tears coming down his face? No, that's sweat, it’s really warm.

He never needed you to tell him you loved him at the start, but when you started to he realized his heart wasn’t made of stone after all.

Now he’s holding this little creature thats half you and half him and he’s just breaking down.

This is a second chance at life for him and he swears he’s going to do better than he started off with.

In your eyes, this murderer looks like an angel with the light seeping softly through the windows against him as he holds your sweet baby.

For the first time in a long time, he prays. He prays to not mess up and for protection for his family. Its soft, under his breath and you would barely hear it, but he prays.

Keegan

When the baby was born the whole team of ghosts showed up. It was a moment of pride.

He turns to kiss your lips right back as he walks over to the rocking chair. Oh he could get the baby a little mask and armor. Could be a mini ghost.

The team fell straight in love but none could love this baby more than Keegan.

And how he looks at you? Its like you hung the stars… which you did help him do, there’s lots of stars hanging from the nursery ceiling, but you gave him a baby. He would trade the sun for his little family, unafraid of turning nocturnal if it meant keeping this moment.

He mumbled about this meaning worth all the fighting. Promises to always come home falling from his mouth so easily.

This is gonna sound SOOO off or smthn but

Was the Perfect Family Harmony planned to be a weapon against the Bergens?

Long post ahead bc brain is rotting

Ok so as we know, the Perfect Family Harmony is smthn that's so powerful that its capable of shattering diamonds. Not just that but its one of the only thing capable of doing so(according to Floyd it was the only thing but giving the benefit of the doubt)

So we know its strong, and we saw it blasting off Velvet and Veneer off their platforms when they performed it, and they weren't even the targets, they were blasted away by just the shockwave that came with using it.

"Its that powerful."

Ok, so its definitely powerful enough to be used as a weapon right? Yeah it was relatively safe enough to use in front of a crowd, else they wouldn't have tried to do it during a concert, but that could just be when those harmonizing aren't targeting anything.

If it could shatter diamonds, how easily could it break cages? What would it do if it was used to target a Bergen? A whole Kingdom of Bergens?

Lets also go back to that concert, to that time John was obsessed with them getting it right. They were in the Troll tree, in Bergentown, a place where any of them could die during Trollstice. The Bergens were a huge threat, something that trolls, at their size, couldn't fight back against normally so they had to run instead right?

But what if they COULD fight back? What if they had a weapon so powerful that it might finally be able to free them? To defeat the monsters that tortured their kind for centuries?

What if John Dory found a way to help make sure nothing would threaten his brothers' safety ever again?

Like, it'd make John Dory's obsession make SOOO MUCH MORE SENSE

Like yea he clearly has OCD and anxiety and some bossiness and that definitely added to it all, but imagine if it was more than that?

Look at him during that performance. He was in deep. He had a wild look in his eyes, a sort of deranged obsession to have everything be perfect no matter what. It wasn't healthy, it was scary, maybe even downright terrifying for his brothers who had to be subjected to it.

But you know what else he looked like?

Terrified

Man was scared out of his mind. His anxiety and stress levels were through the roof. He probably was one wrong tune away from hyperventilating.

What if it was bc it was so much more than the fans? What if he put the salvation of the entire troll-kind on his shoulders?

One wrong step meant they were nothing.

One wrong step meant disappointing the fans.

One wrong step meant letting down the kingdom.

One wrong step meant another troll getting eaten.

Thats why when they failed, John blew up. He took all of that self-hatred of failing to use that weapon to defeat the bergens and poured it all onto his brothers.

"I know we can reach the Perfect Family Harmony."

"What if we don't want to."

John Dory, blind to how and WHY his brothers didn't want to follow his lead, felt betrayed.

To him, all he's ever done was to ensure their safety, everything was for the greater good. He'd done everything he could, his goals slowly twisting him into a crazed obsession. To hear his brothers say they didn't want to help anymore might've struck a cord too much. If you'd noticed he actually looked really sad and hurt when they started bringing up how much they hated being in the band, but it slowly twisted to anger instead. Kind of in a like, "I tried doing everything for these shts and THIS is how they repay me???" way. He was so stressed and stuck in his own head with his failures that he just couldn't see what his brothers were trying to say.

So in a fit of impulsive rage, he left. To him it probably was like that rlly childish way of saying "Yea im leaving, good luck dealing with the Bergens while im goneee." You know? Like how kids runaway from home when they get angry or upset over every little thing but come back when they realize how stupid that was?

"Im not allowed to change."

And he DID come back. Who knows how long, but he did. Imagine how he must've felt seeing their empty pod in an empty tree, with the knowledge that he could've done something about it. The Perfect Family Harmony could've saved them. They could've used it to break the cage, to fight the Bergens. Hell, it could've been powerful enough to wipe out all the Bergens if they do so wished.

"Im the oldest, I have to be the leader."

He and his brothers were the only ones who'd ever gotten close to getting it right.

"Why do you think I moved into the middle of nowhere? So I didn't have to be in charge of anyone."

The village was counting on them. Counting on him. He let them down. He failed.

"Freeing the village Four little brothers is a lot of responsibility."

They could've gotten it. If only John did it right. If only John did it differently.

that i do. she's so me prior bc i was very overly christian until i had a crush on a girl. then it all crumbled.

-grace has freckles all over her face, and has a habit to cover them up. no one knows why, but they're adorable on her

-back in 4th grade, she definitely kissed a girl once because she was a kid, and jesus did say greet each other w a holy kiss.

but wdym thats not what he meant???

-she didnt want to preach initially when she was forced to do so in middle school. she was alread pretty extroverted, so asking people wasn't the hard part. the church part was. however, in her mind, god, her parents, and her faith were over what she thought of it. slowly, that mindset grew more and more. she no longer found it uncomfortable, but completely forgot how to begin something normally without tring to convert someone.

-muttering cool beans as something to comfort her (i said this in my autistic grace fic but damn i think this is jst her in general)

-all honors classes

-is surprisingly ok at sports and physical stuff in general. like she's somehow more athletic than the whole nerd prude gang + steph. church camp teaches u well ig

-she will always meet pete + steph in every universe

-she will always bargain with the lib (more specifically wiggly in every universe)

-in my mind, in the worst case scenario wiggly uses grace's body as a vessel to do his work. however, she has no consciousness whenever he does this.

-in wiggly's possesion, her eyes glow a dark green, her teeth pointier and her limbs almost felt like jelly. her freckles turned green and her hair became curlier.

-however, if wanted, he'll go further and take grace's body as a permanent vessel (will go more in depth w the rest of the lords later)

-oh and she definitely started to go shopping with ruth and steph for clothes.

everything cant be from shein and h&m.

what are your general thoughts on step 3 baxter bc i was replaying OL1 and i trying hard not to cackle at the fact baxter is 19 years old in like 2016. bc all i can hear is halsey, p!atd, arctic monkeys when i look at him; it's giving tumblr, hot topic, that specific period of alt fashion. like he looks like a k-pop idol, but has a weirdly deep voice and overly formal way of speaking. like that is a rich sheltered gayboy emo nerd, not a suave daddy dom. his ass is grass and mc is gonna mow it. i'm saying i find his whole aesthetic ridiculous even tho i do have a soft spot for his fear of emotional vulnerability.

One of the only official things for bsd I ignore is the ages for some of the adult characters… like I am sorry but I do not think dazai is 22 he is like. 25 max. Kyouka and Kenji are definitely 14, I get that but like what is with asagiri and making characters weirdly young??? (This is targeted towards 45 yo fukuzawa(I thought he was 60 when I read it first))

yeah some ages are honestly baffling

it makes sense for atsushi to be 18 and im ok with kenji/kyouka being 14 too but i wish the older agency memebers had a bigger age difference with the kids. and youre absolutely correct dazai SHOULD NOT be 22, ik its bc of how young he was in the mafia but thats,, still weird like yeah yeah suspension of disbelief but its hard to imagine him being all that smart and terrifying at 16. i wish him (and chuuya and kunikida) were like 26 at least.

fukuzawa is a good example of this as well i wish he was in his 50s, and i mean. he says hes kyoukas grandfather which while technically possible is still a stretch, like just say shes your kid lmao. i think a huge part of this confusion is also in his design, his hair is meant to have always been grey ig but it just reads as aging lmao. similarly hirotsu looks 75 when he's only 50!!!

#and fitzgerald too isnt he like 32 or 34?? he should be in his early 40s imo #and there should be a bigger age difference between dazai and aku as well #oh and another thing abt canon i ignore is everyones canon weight #and ik its just japanese beauty standards but idk it makes me uncomfortable a little bit #almost everyone is super light even when it doesnt make much sense #like fukuzawa/kunikida should be. much heavier lmao muscles weight a ton #ask

12. what's a headcanon you have for this character?

i know this is like, decently universal, but there are different versions of it, so i would like to spit out my version with the precursor that i have read a lot of versions of jake's shitty childhood and they are ALL valid and i love them all in their own way so i don't mean this to sound like im tryinna say my headcanon is the only correct way or anything lol.

i do in fact think jake had a really shitty childhood (no surprises im sure). i think for me, it falls somewhere in the realm of overly-critical, under-affectionate, duty-based, act-perfect-for-the-public sort of behavior. the kind of parents who married and had kids out of obligation, bc Thats Just What You Do, but didn't really WANT kids, per se. i think jake has older sisters, and he is absolutely the youngest. he has youngest child syndrome So Bad. he was surprisingly straight-laced, and serious, because he had to be. it's what dear old mom and dad expected. straight As, no fucking around. better not get in trouble, and pay for it if you do.

i think the household might have been just a little bit ~physically abusive~. jake probably got the brunt of it- i think that seresin sr. probably grew bolder with time, and had more frustrations and expectations to push onto a son than onto his daughters. jake would've stood up, too, and lept in front of anything for his sisters, regardless of their age difference or the fact that they probably tried to do the same for him. it was CERTAINLY verbally abusive. nothing's ever good enough, why do you say things like that? don't speak to your father that way. i don't know what you want *me* to do about, if you treated your father with respect he would do the same for you. i think jake's mother sided with her husband often, which is complex, because seresin sr. is an emotionally abusive, uptight asshole, and she's under his thumb too, but she was probably complicit in plenty of it. it's easy to learn to perpetuate something you've known for most of your adult life. she probably married young, and she doesn't know relationships to look any different. it doesn't excuse her behavior, but it does explain.

he learned to do a lot for himself, to be competent in areas that children his age usually aren't. to cook for himself (and his sisters) because no one else was going to do it, some nights, and he was sick of living off of cereal. his sisters teach him how to cover a bruise with makeup one fateful night-before-picture-day, and they regret it later when it becomes an excuse, and jake is able to step in front of them despite their begging him not to, because it's ok, i can fix it before school (so not what they meant jake but ok).

jake probably knew javy in high school, and javy managed to pry jake out of his hardass asshole exterior, just a little. jake is an asshole, because he's learned it's the only way to get attention from his parents (and so what if it's negative attention? he doesn't know the difference). javy is the first person to give jake positive attention and jake doesn't know what to do with it or how to accept it. sometimes when the fighting is very bad at home, jake runs to javy's for a while, but he always goes back home to take his punishment sooner than javy or javy's parents would like, because he is afraid of leaving his sisters alone at home for too long with his parents.

eventually, tho, they are old enough to escape, and that means that jake is right on their heels. they check in as often as they can and things are the worst they've ever been for the years between his next oldest sister's departure and the day he turns 18. but when he does, he and javy enlist together. jake tells his parents, against his wishes. somehow it is another thing for his father to be angry about. his mother cries and cries, as if she's ever cared for his well-being before. for the first time, jake hits his father back. all the way to annapolis, he sports a black eye covered by makeup, and prays to the God of the church he was forced to attend in a suit acting presentable each sunday but does not believe in, that seresin sr. is not somewhere in texas right now talking to the police, ruining jake's chance at true freedom before it's even begun.

he must not be, because nothing ever comes of it. jake does not speak to his parents again.

if like all of this ends up in a fic in like idk 6 months or something. dont @ me. akdhfdjfghfjf it probably will even tho i have a wip list a mile long help aaaaaa

21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?

i have only (publicly) written for jake once, in the first half of chapter twenty-one of time takes no prisoners (you'll see), so that is my ticket to answering this lol. just know that i plan to write plenty for jake in the future, i am just swamped with mav dad and brad brad wips atm lol

i think my favorite thing about writing for jake is walking that exact line between being an absolute asshole and being a normal person, and the way that jake is somehow both entirely self aware of it, and entirely oblivious to it at the same time. the contrast between the things he thinks in his pov, and the things he says aloud, are also everything. his pov is one of my favorites in this fandom (tho ofc i have loved every pov i have written so far !!!) bc he's just so.... him. so much sharp and so much snark but so much heart too, if you can get to it. so much unresolved and unacknowledged childhood trauma manifesting all over the place. rip to jake but it's everything for me as the author lol.

one thing that sucks about this as the author tho is needing to BE these things on some level to write them. like im supposed to be witty and charming in this google doc rn ??????? say sike 😭 i spend a lot of time staring at an empty page when i get to jake's dialogue bc i can internal monologue all day long but when he has to be witty out loud its OVER for me lol

22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to ths character? Something you don't like?

I GUESS THIS SHOULD COME AS NO SURPRISE. but i love the mav-accidentally-adopting-jake-kind-of trope. it is like. my FAVORITE genre of jake fic. its so multi layered too, because mav has had this fractured relationship with bradley for so long and is still struggling to fix it with him, and now here's jake, and why is jake gravitating to mav so much???? mav just does whatever comes natural in the moment, and i think it's like. kind of part of it, in a way. not a big one, but i think mav gets to interact in this way with jake and gets to A. remember how to do it, and B. remind himself that he is capable. and C. i think jake reminds mav of himself at that age and he has some inherent instinct trying to stop the crash that he sees coming. the idea of jake never having been shown like, just regular kindness or understanding from a parental-coded individual and respecting mav a lot in his career, and then after the mission its awkward bc its like oh shit. this is roosters dad basically???? thats fucking weird. and the next thing you know you are hanging out with roosters dad on the weekends when rooster is deployed and you are not ?????? what is going ON. WHY does he speak nicely to me. why does he praise certain things that i do. why does he listen attentively to things that i say. why does he keep trying to hug me when i am leaving. what is this strange interaction.

that being said, i think we all agree jake has some kind of unresolved childhood trauma, and i LOVE to see him have to face it, but sometimes it can just... go too far. i think something i don't like seeing happen to jake in fic is if he kind of.... gets his sharp edges rounded down??? or like, his claws filed away??? jake is a fully grown adult man, who HAS parents out there somewhere in some worlds, or HAD them in others, and he is bold and brash and sharp and quick-tongued. it's easy to reduce him to kind of an extreme position emotionally, and don't get me wrong. i love to put my blorbos in extreme emotional situations. but idk. i think with jake especially its hard to imagine him in a soft situation, and we have a tenancy to warp his character, or make him too teary, too honest, too direct, too sad. for me i feel like the sweet spot is right in the middle, trying to make sure he stays a little depressed and a little angry with himself all the time and a lot disillusioned, while still staying flippant and charming and evasive. it's easy to bend the character to fit the situation instead of the situation to fit the character, but it's important, i feel, to try and do the latter and not the former, with any character, but especially jake, in this fandom.

ik no one asked me but personally i feel like the ONLY reason why the light novels even exist is because eve originally wanted to shift focus off of rei and onto tobi in knk but didnt know how to do it properly without like messing up the story or something ( even though i am fully convinced eve does NOT have this stuff written down and is literally just making it up as he goes ) so he just decided to write a spinoff series instead thats basically like an oc insert au fanfiction for knk,,,

Now the truth is idk about enough about the manga or light novel industry so I honestly can’t say how the novels came to be tho what you say may be right. To me it feels more like he wanted to do more with Tobi and expand more on him in knk but bc knk has a story that has to be followed there are some restraints of what he can show and where can he show it so yeh it would make sense to make a spinoff or a different series that can get into that. Like I said idk enough about the manga/light novel industry but I believe it’s cheaper to write them in novels rather than a manga so ig he had the opportunity and took it y’know?

As for the feeling of “Eve going along with whatever at this point” I agree completely with you bc i remember when the manga was first announced (yeh im that old I saw this shit come out) it was promoted to be a manga with Mah characters that’s why the Mah characters even appear in the first cover…this is speculation but I feel like they were supposed to appear earlier or something but were pushed aside in favor of Tobi THO it’s kinda complicated to say bc rereading Nagi’s arc i noticed that, even if there’s some inconsistencies in it, it feels like there was some planning and feels for the most part cohesive. I remember I complained a lot back in the day about it bc it didn’t make sense but now that the arc is completed it does! The current arc tho….I’m not so sure like it makes sense too for the most part but so far so many things are left unexplained that it makes me wonder if he really wrote down at least some of it or if he texts Newo at 2 am to tell them the idea he had so they can draw it 😭😭😭

The time line is kinda messed up to me it’s been 3 years after all so if someone can help I would appreciate it very much, anyway my theory is that yeh Mah characters were meant to appear earlier and that Tobi was actually meant to be a character early on too but just got way more popular than Eve expected. Going back to the time line knk was released on April 15th 2020 and Tobi appeared a month later on May 15th 2020 HOWEVER the int MV came out exactly 7 days after that chapter on May 22nd 2020…so like I said I could have the time line messed up bc it’s been years but like i remember that chapter coming out and me and a lot of people being excited about him appearing but technically his MV wasn’t out yet like I feel we all knew him and that so I wonder if it was bc around that time Eve started to promote him a lot? I know that the reason why int even exists is bc Mariyasu made a mini MV of the song I think and people liked it so much both them and Eve went with it but yeh…just wanted to point this out bc if it was popularity based if they put him bc the MV was insanely popular then it would make more sense that the character of the MV came before the one in the manga and that the MV’s influence put him there but he came before??? Idk besties if someone can help me with this one…

Anyway yeh I just feel like Tobi got too popular and was the one appearing in fanarts, official arts, merch and all that stuff and with time Eve just…probably started seeing him in a different light and started caring for him more. Like I said idk anything about the manga industry but I also think that when it comes to Rei it has to be harder to do something with him bc I assume the magazine has some ownership over him I feel Eve can’t use him as freely but that also wouldn’t explain the Tobi case bc even after knk and the int novels came out that could put some restraints on his usage he still was marketed as he always has been so…I really don’t know all I know is that most we have on Rei that is not knk is a few promotional drawings made for the magazine and that one drawing Taiga did for the app that was just dropped there and disappeared into the ether when the app died

It’s really sad bc Rei as a character has potential…we could had a soft boyo that the more he learns about his missing memories and the more fucked up things he experiences the more he changes as a person and the more he loses himself. The very famous phrase “find me before I eat myself” from int I always interpreted it as “find me before I lose myself” and like idk how to explain it but it fits not only Tobi but Rei too???? Like it works???? The fact that his memories are fucked up and his past is fucked up and everyone he loves is getting fucked up is perfect to use in this concept and Eve is not doing anything with it. Like literally Rei has no personality other than being friends with Yukito, not knowing shit about anything and lowkey not liking Tobi that much and like that’s all I can think about him and it frustrates me! He can be more! He can do more! But no! It’s just Tobi! It’s only Tobi!

Anyway I won’t make this any more longer I think I ranted enough so yeh you are completely right anon he just likes his angsty emo OC a lot and we’ll have to nod and go along with it

I’ve got some. gripes. with the s3 mando finale.

There is absolutely no acknowledgement of paz's death at all??? In fact I could have (and I will do so from now on) believed that paz was just laid up in a medbay and couldn’t attend his son’s baptism. He’s fine. no funeral needed.

speaking of which, why is ragnar getting baptized again? Did the one we see in the first episode not count? Why didn’t they do it earlier if it didn’t? He’s never seen without the helmet after so it probably counted though. Its just weird that it’s being done again.

At the beginning grogu slips away from a full squadron of mandalorians and absolutely no one noticed or said anything?? and din doesnt ream bo out for losing his kid in an imperial base????? how did any of that happen. why wasnt there a scene of bo or the covert members acknowledging that grogu left to get his dad.

i really want to say that grogu took a detour in this time to heal paz up though. maybe thats where he left his babysitter if they had given him one.

the darksaber being "a quality of beskar ive never seen" and still getting crushed by gideon’s power armor still doesn’t make sense to me. and iirc he crushes it in bo’s hand??? she shouldnt have a hand anymore, even if the darksaber was made of durasteel. maybe the quality of beskar the din’s never seen meant it was really bad lol. i wonder how it was supposed to compare to din’s pure beskar armor. im not super mad about them destroying the darksaber, just the method. i think it should have been lost off the side of the platform

ALSO what happened to the hook of the republic finding out that gideon was sprung by people with beskar??? was that supposed to let us know that gideon had beskar? is that it?????

gideons death is kinda. uh. are we sure he died. he just kinda fell into a firestorm fully incased in beskar armor. i could see him getting cooked. but i can also see him flying away into the sunset fully unscathed. no body no death.

god ok this is a toughie bc im trying so hard not to just say everything, but let me go back and think on why byler got me in the first place.

i guess its just the fact that they chose to be with each other.

in every action, in everything they do, everything that has something to do with each other was a deliberate choice to keep the other close.

mike chose to be friends with will. despite his fear and anxiety, he swallowed it all just so he could ask will to be his friend. and will, in return, chose to say yes.

mike chose to follow, listen and care for will, even though he was possessed by the mindflayer. he was in such a close proximity to will, he could have been killed or targeted, but he chose to stay by his side despite what he did to those soldiers and did not blame him even once. and will in return, trusted him enough to tell him about his struggles with the MF and expresses how mike is the only one who didnt make him feel like an outcast.

mike always chooses to apologize first, almost immediately. he apologized to will BEFORE the rain fight even began, his entire demeanor changing from being an asshole to sincere. will in return chose to forget about it, and prioritize his relationship with mike by reassuring him that he'd never join another party once he moves.

and when it came to the rink o mania, despite mike's POV of the entire situation, once again he chose to go to will first and held nothing against will, only for him to tell him he misses him and he wants to be best friends again. will, in return, chooses to accept his reconciliation.

its just the way theyre each other's worst sabotage but also their best opportunities to gravitate back to each other. no matter what type of odds are stacked against them, they CHOOSE to find their way back to each other and approach things deliberately and delicately when it comes to each other, because they dont want to lose each other and value each other to such a high degree.

i think what also makes this hit harder for me has something to do with their personalities; mike is a hotheaded kid who can hold a lot of pride, but he swallows all of that if it meant he could make up with will. and for will its more of the opposite; will is usually a shy, kind kid but hes always so brutally honest with mike. they complement each other. they need each other.

and no matter what fate puts them at, whether it be a girl that landed on one's doorstep or being taken by a literal demon realm, they find ways to run back to each other by choice.

its not fate, nor destiny. thats what makes it true love.

Rose’s mom wasn’t always like this (FREEZE FRAME of a Roxy with a BBL, fake titties, and being an incredibly drunk, sexy MILF, having sex w barely-legal John Egbert).

Roxy Lalonde was a pageant queen, bred into it by caste and years of training. Being born with a silver spoon in her mouth translated into something much more explicitly phallic with her family. Her job was to look pretty and find a husband, to be able to keep things in her mouth and swallow and talk demurely and know how to arrange a gala, to play the bloodsports of board rooms and cocktail parties.

She was part of an older generation, you know?

She was a technological genius, but what did that matter when she had tits? Thats how her whole life went until she was knocked up by some douche in anime shades and kicked out.

Shockingly, it was a relief. Because it meant she had to (could) everything on her own, and as hot as Dirk strider was, she could see he wasn't fatherly material. So she's surprised when he wants one of the kids. She asks him why. He just grunts: "a legacy". And that's that.

She's wasn’t going to complain: she was 17 with two children (twins, just her luck!) and she wasn’t going to deny the father splitting them evenly. She’d always wanted a little girl, just not so soon.

And so, Roxy gets dragged kicking and screaming into the adult world, and even more shockingly? She makes it her bitch. She gets her GED and her bachelor's and then her master's and her PhD and whizzes and ends up in a remote mansion, sending her daughter to the best private school, giving her little girl ponies and dresses and everything she would’ve wanted and more.

But beneath all that money, she never really grew out of the scared little girl she used to be.

Alcohol numbs the edges.

Sometimes, she thinks of the baby boy she had, too. He was born second, with a heart defect: hypoplastic left heart syndrome. It's a long, dry title for something that felt like the end of the world. Doctors fixed him, with a hand wave and Dirk’s money and something about surgeries and medicine. All she remembers is his grip on her pinky, and thinking: something that strong shouldn’t be so weak.

She had met Dirk at a party, the kind rich people’s children have because there’s nothing better to do than inject themselves full of drugs and have sex and fight with each other. That kind of defined her relationship with Dirk, too. Sex, parties, fun, and not much else. They weren't good for each other.

But he paid for her pregnancy, and left her money to pursue a degree while raising Rose. So she doesn’t worry about her son as much as she should have. Dirk was a good guy, just tortured. It takes one to know one right?

But when she pukes into the toilet, and Rose holds her her hair back, she knows. She's failing Rosie but she can't do anything about it. She can’t help herself.

She wonders if Dirk is doing a better job than her, thinks about calling him.

She never does.
