If you take requests can you do a dc x dp with dead tired ship?
I love requests~! I really hope I got dead tired, ship, right. I need to find out the ship names. It's Tim/Danny, right? If not, let me know, and I'll fix you another one.
Tim really wasn't looking forward to meeting the new heir to Vladco. Usually, his parents didn't want anything to do with new money, as they thought that new money was too close to no money, but Vlad Masters was different.
The difference? He bought out almost all of Drake Industries' shares, and now Tim honestly thinks he owns more of the family company than his parents. Jack and Janet hoped to make good connections with the man and slowly but surely trick him into selling the shares back to the Drakes.
Tim thought if he was smart enough to get the people that bought shares of his family company generations ago, not just once but at least eight times, then Vlad Masters wouldn't be as easy to trick as they thought.
Then again, his parents aren't the best businessmen around. If they were, they wouldn't be flying through the family wealth, leading them to bankruptcy.
Tim would know.
One day, he looked at their books when he was bored a few months after discovering Batman's identity. He tried to tell his mom about it, but she told him that he didn't understand the business well enough to tell.
So he signed himself into college-level business courses online to learn it. She didn't appreciate his initiative.
"Remember, Tim, Daniel Masters is who you must befriend," Janet says for the third time as they climb out of their car. " Friendships are the ladders to climbing up in the world."
"Yes, Mom." He tries to smile at her, but all Tim wants to do is go back to the roofs of Gotham and watch the Bats.
Jason is supposed to start his solo patrols tonight, which is a big deal, and he's missing it. His parents weren't supposed to be back for another month. However, their latest job was canceled due to locals complaining.
His dad grumbled about people getting in the way of history, but Tim thinks it has more to do with his parents wanting to dig up an old cemetery......apparently the locals like their grandparent's resting place to be left alone.
Tim also thinks it's not lovely to dig there just because the locals are poor, so he may have hacked into the country's files and flooded the internet with the disrespectful attempt that his parents were trying to make. It received the right amount of backlash to stop the whole operation.
He then sent the community an anonymous donation so they could fix it up, get the gravestones washed, and the stories of the buried people turned into a book. It's the least he could do.
Tim's parents didn't realize the loss of funds only because he carefully hid his tracks with shell companies.
They are greeted at the door by Vlad Masters. He gives his father a handshake, compliments his mother's dress, and even offers Tim a gentle hello. Masters is known for being a bit of a humble hermit, soft-spoken but with sharp, intelligent eyes.
Everything he expects new money to be, down to his mannerism and even the way he stands. Tim would have been able to clock him miles away without even knowing his name.
"This is my son, Daniel," Masters says, patting the head of a frowning boy Tim's age. He stands just a bit away from Masters as if he does not want to be near him. Tim notes the way he shies away from Master's hand.
Interesting.
"It's Danny." The boy hisses. Mom's face tightens at his manners. She never liked children being heard instead of seen. Danny takes a small breath before smiling at the Drakes with a friendlier composure.
The hostility was only toward his father?
"Please call me Danny. It's my real name, not a nickname," He says, offering his hand for a shake. Tim fights a wince. As the son of a wealthy family and not the head, Danny is not supposed to initiate a greeting with Tim's dad.
He just told the Drakes he needs to be aware of high society rules, making him easy pickings. His parents jump onto that weakness like a lion on a trap gazelle.
"Daniel. It's lovely to meet you. " Mom's articulation is just a shade away from being mocking. Danny's smile falls off his face closing down into a near-emotionless mask. "How old are you, deary?"
"I'm old enough to still hear correctly, unlike you. That's not my name. It's Danny." He says much to mom's surprise. Tim guesses she's not used to people challenging her so directly. He learned that, too, while he was running Gotham.
The elites always made passive-aggressive backhanded comments to insult each other. The poor told you to fuck off to your face.
"You do not speak that way to my wife, Daniel-" His Dad starts, but Danny holds up his hand.
"You either call me Danny or don't talk to me." He says. "I don't need to waste my breath repeating myself."
Wow. Tim thinks, watching the red growing on Dad's face. He's cool.
"Are you going to let him talk to me like that?" Dad demands, turning to an amuse-looking Masters. The other man raises a brow, his gentle smile still on his face, but somehow it looks more....dismissive now. As if he was looking at a child demanding the impossible.
"Why ever do you mean?" Masters asks, "Your tone implies you were insulted, but that would mean you are upset with a child asking to be spoken to with respect. Surely, a man of your standing knows children deserve respect?"
"They need to respect their elders." Mom cuts in her voice like ice.
"He is my son, so I am his elder. Not you." Master counters, "But not to worry, I will remedy this issue. Danny will no longer be speaking to you disrespectfully, as I will not allow him to be near you."
His parents had a few seconds of looking smug until Masters waved his hand back towards the driveway. "Have a lovely night, Mr. and Mrs. Drake."
"Excuse me?" Mom cries, and Tim can't believe his eyes. The rest of the wealthy guests have caught on to the issue and have gathered near the windows and doorway to watch.
"That's Fruitloop for You can leave now." Danny chirps starting to look more like his father by the amusement on his face. "Except for him. He's cool."
He points to Tim, who flushes at the attention. He had been staring at Danny, taking in every detail of his expression and body language, fascinated by the fact he did not once seem intimidated. He didn't even look bored.
He seemed comfortable in his slightly slouched posture and confident in his skin and abilities. But his earlier behavior implied that just as he is confident in himself, he also doesn't think very highly of himself.
Tim's never seen anyone like that. It's strange. New. Exciting.
Heck, it was exhilarating.
Tim wanted to break Danny Masters' head open and figure everything about him out. It felt like a new case just begging him to uncover.
"I am?" He asks in a slight daze, and the other boy offers him a dazzling smile.
"Yeah, you respect the dead. The spirits adore you."
What?
"Oh, this is the young boy who protected that cemetery in Guatemala?" Masters asks with genuine warmth this time. "A fine job, Timithoy."
"It's Tim." He hears himself say, and Masters nods.
"A fine job Tim."
Danny offers him a wink, and Tim thinks his stomach just fell out of his body. What is this-?
"Timothy, we are leaving!" His mother screeches, tugging on his arm and yanking him away. The rest of the guests laugh as the Drakes are driven away. Tim knows he will never be allowed near Danny after this, so he turns his head around to give the boy one last look.
He meets the glowing green eyes of the Masters, who wave their fingers at him.
Tim starts following Danny around after that.
(Danny and Vlad know he's there and think it's cute. That's how ghost courts, so they don't see it as a problem. What is problem is getting along long enough for them to figure out a way back to their home dimension. Danny allowed Vlad to overshadow people just so they could have the means to eat, but he's getting really sick of Gotham. At least the soft clicking sound of a camera lures him to sleep at night.
Tim approaches Robin before his hero can go to Ethiopia. He doesn't understand what he is experiencing as his first crush and concludes that the Masters are aliens planning on luring small children by making them fall under a spell through their glowing eyes. Jason takes this very seriously and agrees to wait on his mission overseas. He realizes early on what's actually happening but, by that point, thinks Tim is hilarious and just edges him on.
He, too, thinks the Masters are aliens, but he's not about to tell Bruce.)

im a little curious to know more about King Canvas, has Craftycorn ever said anything about her dad to dogday or anyone at least? Or did she just decide to keep it to herself?
(btw I LOVE your art you are so talented💗)
BIG SPOILER OF FUTURE FANFICS GUYS, IF YOU DON'T CARE, GO AHEAD
You see, Crafty's backstory was squeeze in the season finale of the cartoon, and even was incomplete 'cause the season finale was a part 1, with the part 2 lost in the season 2, that's why is so hated for all the gang + catnap, having a lot of foreshadowing for it and then cancelling the cartoon after said bomb was horrible, and the reason they cancel it? The toys weren't selling as much as they want it. So yeah, Alba has even found the scripts and animatics for the season 2 in Playcare (the cartoon was animated in other place, but the scripts and animatics were send to Play.Co to confirm the work), and heavens, the story was going to get a turn.
First, Craftycorn came from a kingdom full of unicorns and pegasus, with the royalty been the only alicorns (just like in MLP), so what was the surprise in King Canvas when the stork delivered a unicorn baby to him.
Tumblr media
The king was in denial, but when her infant daughter was able to active the flower pendant (the family's pendant), he accept it, but wasn't happy with the news.
Then it come years of craftycorn been mentally and physically abused by her father, who convince her of the idea that she was a ''defective alicorn'' and not a normal unicorn, this way, crafty not only thought she was less in her family, but she also thought the unicorns in her kingdom wouldn't like her, 'cause she wasn't one of them (yeah, the bastard destroyed all selfstem in her).
Tumblr media
Then one day she... run away, looking for a place that would take her, she end up in the town where the cartoons happens, and hide herself in the Piggy's farm (where Mr.Piggy found her thinking she was a normal child unicorn that ran away from the war, and she accept that story inmediatly).
Tumblr media
But why there was a war to begin with? Well, 'cause King Canvas thought his ''lovely daughter'' was kidnnaped, and he blame the astral kingdom (the one of dogday and catnap) for it, so, in a way, craftycorn is the one to blame for dogday and catnap dad's death.
Craftycorn realised all this when they meet Queen Gaia, making her have a full breakdown due the idea that her ''selfishness'' was what make her father start a full war, this get around during some episodes till the flower festival (that last episode before the season finale), where King Canvas show up and, thinking her daughter was kidnnaped and brainwashed to marry the next king ('cause in that moment dogday and craftycorn were dancing together), start a new attack against the kingdom-
AND this is all i can say about him!

summary : will finally plucks up the courage to tell y/n he wants their relationship be more than just casual, and when he tries confessing he unintentionally quotes dear evan hansen
word count : 2.5k
Tumblr media
Y/N and Will had been casually ‘going out’ for around a month now, but due to their conflicting schedules, they rarely got time alone together. Whenever either party had ever felt like they had the right moment to attempt at confessing, something always seemed to come up, or in many cases, ruin the moment.
The previous Monday, Will was quite literally seconds away from finally, officially, asking Y/N out. But do you know what happened? Gabe interrupted; the moment was perfect, and his teammate had ruined it.
Will attempted not to seem phased by it and tried to move on, but he still felt a hint of bitterness in his stomach when he thought back to that day.
However, the failed attempts aside, Will was determined that today was the day; in a few hours, Y/N would be his girlfriend and he would be her boyfriend. At least that was the hope.
Everything was planned out; that very night was Y/N’s first performance in front of a sold-out audience as Evan Hansen in BC’s production of DEH. He was so proud of her to be able to land the main role in the musical, nevermind that it was a usually male-dominated part to have.
Will has spent hours with her rehearsing, reading lines back and forth to help her learn them perfectly and not mess up. The girl had already known the entire musical by heart, but conditioning yourself to then only play one role was actually quite difficult, something she found out rather quickly.
While the boy wouldn't admit it, he actually enjoyed the soundtrack and found himself listening to the songs in his day-to-day life, even on the way to training.
On one particular occasion, he’d been walking to the rink on his own before Gabe and Ryan had joined him, and due to the noise canceling on his headphones, he hadn't realized until Ryan had nudged him in the side lightly, he'd jumped and paused his music.
This led to him being asked what he was listening to, and without really thinking, he’d replied, “Oh, just Dear Evan Hansen, you know.” Needless to say, he’d been teased for being a theater kid multiple times since then.
This musical had somewhat become a shared passion between Will and Y/N, and even though the hockey player wasn't directly involved in the production, he still felt as though he had become a part of the family that was the cast and crew. Most of his time was taken up by hockey, but that didn't stop him from popping in and helping wherever he could.
Ironically, the group had always referred to Will as “Y/N’s boyfriend," and every time either of them tried to remind anybody that they weren't official yet, eyes would be rolled and unconvinced looks would be pointedly given. So, maybe it was about time they could make the nickname accurate.
Special. That’s what he wanted this to be: special. It was all planned out to be just that, and with the night that it was going to be, Will thought it was no better timing than the present.
Smiling to himself, he thought about the fact that, if all went to plan, he could be cheering from the audience for his girlfriend, not just whatever he was supposed to call her right now.
Presently, Will stood at the entry to the block of dorms Y/N stayed in. He had asked his teammates to help pick an outfit for him and hoped it would impress the girl he was hoping to sweep off her feet.
He wore his favorite suit, a maroon-red color similar to the colors of Boston College itself, with a matching tie and white shirt. Perhaps it was cliche; the more he thought about it, the worse those concerns made him worry, but he brushed the thoughts out of his mind, watching the doorway with anticipation.
In his hands, he held a sweet bouquet of flowers—pink tulips, to be exact. No, he couldn't confirm they were her favorite flower, but he always associated her with the flowers. The first time he looked on her Instagram, the emoji in her bio stood out to him immediately.
He had accidentally admitted this fact to the old lady who owned the local florist, but instead of laughing at him, the lady smiled with a twinkle in her eye, muttering something affectionately along the lines of “young love.”
A creak from the door in front of him swiftly took him back to his current situation, and he looked up, his voice catching in his throat for a moment. In front of him was a flustered Y/N, and Will truly felt like the luckiest person in the world.
“Hi!” the girl squeaked out enthusiastically. "Sorry, I took a little longer than you probably expected; I couldn't find my key,” she explained, looking slightly guilty.
“It’s no problem; genuinely, I would’ve waited hours if you needed me to.” Will spoke sweetly. Y/N took it as a dramatic use of hyperbole, but in the boy’s mind, he was speaking nothing but the truth. “These are for you,” he added, handing the bouquet of tulips to the girl. “I didn't know which flowers you liked, but, uh, these reminded me of you.”
“They're gorgeous! And... pink tulips are actually my favorite; you must be psychic.” or maybe he just looked at her Instagram too many times—the same difference, really. Y/N was sure that her heart rate was about 1000 beats per minute, but she calmed herself down with some deep breaths.
“Could I?” She gestured her head between the flowers and the hallway she had just appeared from, asking if she could go and put the flowers back in her dorm, and Will nodded, silently sighing in relief at a moment to get himself together.
After a few minutes, Y/N got back, and Will offered his arm for her to take. She did as prompted, and he led her onward. The first part of his plan was in motion; phew, now all he had to do was not mess up the date or the whole part where he was going to ask Y/N to be his girlfriend.
Unfortunately, part of the plan had Will relying on his friends. Yes, he trusted them, but he still anxiously awaited what he was going to be presented with when they arrived at the park.
He had spent all morning preparing a picnic basket of foods for their date; he’d even taken a trip to a store to buy a wicker basket and a red check blanket to fully complete the aesthetic.
Yet, he was (thankfully) pleasantly surprised when, as he brought the girl through the park, his picnic was perfectly set out for their date. He’d need to remember to thank the boys later. Will looked at Y/N, nervous for her reaction, to see what could only be described as pure joy painted across her expression.
“Will! This is so cute,” she let out a squeal of awe. “You didn't have to; oh my gosh, this is so cute.” She promptly wrapped her arms around the boy, kissing him on the cheek in excitement. His cheeks lit up at this, because while she’d kissed him on the cheek before, it never stopped feeling like the first.
They sat together in the afternoon sun, engaged in conversations about many topics ranging from hockey to Taylor Swift, but somehow, the topic of Dear Evan Hansen had not come up yet, which Will sort of wanted it to, so he could approach what he’d been waiting to say for a long while now.
“And then the show's tonight, and like Ms. Laynor said, we could have a few hours to ourselves before we had to get ready for the opening, right? But she never specified what time we needed to be at the theater, so I just thought four hours before was good, you know. Arrive at 4 p.m. in time for the show at 8, perfect!” Y/N ranted on slightly, but Will listened intently, nodding in agreement with her decision.
“Yeah, I think four hours is good, and if she needs you before then she can always message you.” Will reassured the girl, his eyes twinkling affectionately at the passion she held for the theater. Just seeing the smile that graced her face made the boy know this was it—this was the time he was going to do it. He wasn't sure why he knew, but the moment felt right. He took a deep breath before speaking.
“There's really nothing like your smile; have I ever told you that? It's sort of subtle, but real, and it's perfect." Will started; he had a habit of talking with his hands, and as he spoke, it was highlighted. “And I don't think you know how amazing seeing your smile can make someone feel—can make me feel!”
Y/N watched him talk, stunned and speechless as Will confessed what he had never had the guts to speak out loud before. “And I know that when you're bored in class, you start doodling in the margin of your books, and I noticed that you annotate your books with a pen when you see something you like.”
Admitting this took bravery, but honestly speaking, the boy still hadn't come to terms with the fact that this was actually real.
“But I’ve kept it all inside; I haven't said it to you. I’ve wanted to, seriously, but I couldn't seem to talk to you about it; I couldn't find a way, and I didn't know if we were on the same page because sometimes it feels like we're a million worlds apart, so it was like, where am I meant to start? And how do I say it?"
He took a long breath before he said the most important part, “I love you.”
That was it; he’d done it; he’d said it. There was no taking it back now. He felt close to exploding as he looked directly into her eyes for the first time since he’d started talking. Y/N looked close to crying. Will could only hope that was positive, but the demons in his head only told him of the rejection that was coming.
“Will. I don't know what to say. He braced himself for the harsh reality check he feared was building. “That's the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard. Wow. I love you too, seriously.”
He deflated, “I get it,” before his mind fully comprehended what he’d just heard. “Wait, what?” His previously crestfallen body language perked up instantly. Did she seriously say what he thought she had? Surely he had to be dreaming, and resisting the urge to pinch himself to check was becoming increasingly difficult.
“I love you too,” she smiled. “And I think if I hadn't already been, the fact you just quoted Dear Evan Hansen to tell me how you felt would've made me fall in love on the spot.” She said it meaningfully; his words had been quotes from a song, yet somehow, everything he said felt raw and honest, like he had written the song about her.
With the realization of what he’d done, Will groaned inwardly, “Fuck, there's no way I plagiarized my confession of love from Dear Evan Hansen. I’m so embarrassing.” He knew the words had been too smooth to be completely his own, but of all the things he had to quote from, It was the musical his girlfriend was going to perform in a few hours.
“What? No, you aren't! You genuinely don't know how much it means. You spent so much time helping me rehearse for the performance when you didn't have to, when we weren't boyfriend and girlfriend, but you did anyway. And you memorized the lyrics, and now you're quoting the songs when you tell me you love me.”
Y/N looked at him with an expression of pure adoration and said, “You're not embarrassing at all; you're just possibly the sweetest person I’ve ever met.”
“I never meant it in a bad way that it was quotes from there. I mean, you changed it so it would fit me; that's just about the most thoughtful thing in the history of things. It was personal, to me and to us; that's what matters.” and she was extremely serious when she said that.
The idea that someone she'd fallen in love with cared at all about her passions meant everything, and then for the love to be requited felt like a million years of joy all at once. The boy felt the same, along with a major sense of relief and, well, a hint of lingering embarrassment.
“I’m glad, wow. I’ve been waiting so long to finally tell you this. I can't even believe it's just happened and that you actually like me back, and all the rejection scenarios I imagined were stupid.” He was cut off by the pressing of a kiss on his lips.
“Shut up,” she mumbled affectionately against his lips, smiling slightly into the kiss. Any of their previous fluttering, drunk kisses were forgotten at this moment; the passion after months of mutual pining solidified this as the first kiss, not just for them as a couple but for them as people too.
They continued for a few seconds before both of them lay down on the blanket, somewhat starstruck, letting the situation completely settle in their minds. It was a comfortable silence as they replayed the moment in their heads like a film reel.
It had gotten to 4 p.m. and Y/N had left for the theater. Will spent the time he had between then and the show in a few hours processing everything that had gone down. It honestly shocked him that he’d ever followed through with the plan to begin with.
Fast forward to the performance. Will sat in one of the closest rows to the stage, excited to watch Y/N perform a project she’d been working on for so long. Personally, he was extremely impressed; the entire cast had worked their asses off, and it was definitely worth it.
While Will had listened to the soundtrack, he’d never seen the full musical performed, and seeing it there was something special, especially knowing how much it meant to the people on stage. As the production came to an end and the cast performed their curtain call, the audience gave them a standing ovation.
Y/N, as the title character, got her own turn to bow and take in the true feeling of the audience clapping for you and cheering for you. The feeling was indescribable, but at that time she felt on top of the world, lost in the moment, at a peak in her life.
She was grinning ear to ear as she met the eyes of Will in the crowd, and this somehow prompted the hockey player to shout, “That’s my girlfriend!” at the top of his lungs.
Needless to say, he was extremely embarrassed that he'd said that out loud, but it got his point across in a pretty public way, no doubt about that. Y/N laughed slightly before the rest of the cast joined back into a line with her, taking their final bows as the curtain closed, the show ending.
a/n :: thank you for reading!! the formatting ended up a bit weird and i had to reupload this bc tumblr decided to bully me and not submit this to tags... but hopefully it works now and i hope you enjoyed :3

Sinful! Pomni Lore
Tumblr media
Polina was dragged by two people while in a straitjacket. She kicked and wiggled, tears streaming down her face as she screamed, her voice echoing throughout the hallway. "NO NO NO! PLEASE! I DIDN'T DO IT! NO PLEASE!" She cried out to no one's response. Her frazzled hair covered her eyes, making her look just as crazy as people see her as. She was put into a dark room. The room itself had others within. People on computers and people in chairs with headsets on. She couldn't recognize ANY of them, however they all had orange jumpsuits on which only meant that they were all prisoners just like her. The men that were dragged her undid her straitjacket only to grab her by the wrists. There was an empty seat at the very end... One just for her. She struggled as she tried to fight them, however there was nothing that could be done
She was forced into the chair, her arms and legs strapped down tightly to it. She looked over to see the person next to her. They were a dark-skinned person, pink dyed hair that was dying out, the pink only really visible at the tips of their dreadlocks while the headset on their head obscured basically everything else. She tried to fight it, but her skinny figure was nothing for the straps. IVs were stuck into Polina's arm, making her wince. Then some noise canceling headphones were put on her, everything becoming incredibly muffled and hard to hear. People were talking, but she didn't know what. She witnessed a machine appear from the ceiling, a headset on the end. She struggled more, aggressively attempting to escape as....
....................................
She awoke in a kitchen. One that was gray and lifeless. She looked around in confusion. Where was she? She looked down at her own figure. Her feet weren't feet. They were hooves. Hooves on goat like legs. She tugged at her outfit. Dark red and dark blue with some yellow is what covered her. And a tail! She began to panic. Where was she!? WHAT WAS SHE!? She hyperventilated as she looked around. Suddenly, a voice appeared. "Oh! A new prisoner" She quickly turned to see a... man? Was it a man? He had four cards for a head and wore blue and gold. "Are you okay?" He showed his abnormally large hands as he stepped closer. She screamed. "G-GET AWAY FROM ME! What are you!? W-What am I???" She backed up and hit a counter, seeing something shiny out of the corner of her eye. "Well, I am Able. And I need to wait for your records to come into my database. For now, how about we just talk?" Able said as he only stepped closer, reaching out and touching her shoulder
It stun. It STUN. She yelped as she recoiled, putting her hand on the counter and feeling something on it. She grabbed it and pointed it at him. "D-Don't touch.... me...." She realized that she was holding a knife. She looked at it for a moment as she twitched for a moment. Adrenaline ran through her as she started to smile. Able retracted his hand as he noticed her eyes turned into scribbles as she started to laugh. She was breathing quickly and heavily, but laughing all the same. "Heheheh... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA" She twitched a few more times before lunging at Able, tackling him to the ground due to the sudden burst of energy she had. Able noticed that knife glitch out in her hand as she stabbed it into his card face. He screamed as an alarm started to go within the kitchen, but she didn't HEAR it. Out of nowhere... The goat girl was picked up. She thrashed in the unknown thing's grasp as soon enough the knife was taken out of her hands. Suddenly, she stopped moving, going into a bit of a catatonic state, limping like a ragdoll in her hands. "A new one and she's already attacked you? That's new" It was a sun faced woman that help her in one hand. "Should she go into the cellar?"
Able was bleeding black, and certainly seemed in pain, but somehow kept a cool head. "No" He replied as he got up. Sun looked at him with surprise. "But sir, she assaulted you. You are bleeding" She gestured while she spoke. Able snapped his fingers as he brought up some screens in front of him. "I have her files. She suffers through an intense PTSD whenever holding anything that could be considered a weapon. Besides... That knife is malware. That's why it harmed me so badly. It seems that malware saw her and decided to have its fun" Able was surprisingly calm despite the pain- but he's been through worse. "Hmm... Very well. I shall take her to her new cell. When she wakes up, we shall do our new prisoner protocol"
"Yes, Sun. Thank you for the assistance"

Olin Anvilcontrolled, age eleven
went back to dwarf fortress classic last night and was rewarded, as i so often am by this game, with a truly vivid portrait of a character (long story under the cut, blood and violence as is typical for df)
Olin Anvilcontrolled arrived at the age of eleven at the Fortress of Savefountain with her mother (Ubbul) and her new stepfather (Sarvesh). Since she was so close to the dwarven age of adulthood, I kept an eye on her to see what kind of skills she developed and what kind of career she'd be suited to. While the rest of her family settled in though, Ubbul soon giving birth to Olin's half-brother, Oddom, Olin had more trouble adjusting. Rather than playing in the corridors of the residential wing or in the temples or taverns with other children, she preferred to follow the web-gatherers and cave-fishers down the long, slippery passage to the under cavern where she would play, alone, with her little glass boat.
The cavern is not exactly the world's most supervised playplace, and I was horrified the first time I received the "A dwarf child has cancelled "play with toy boat: interrupted by Giant Bat" alert. But I needn't have worried. With a value system that prioritised martial strength, power over others, force of will, and - literally, textually - "sadism", eleven-year-old Olin beat the shit out of that huge beast with her bare hands until her mother, a hunter, arrived to put the bloodied and broken thing out of its misery. Being unarmed, untrained and not yet old enough to see a marvel movie unaccompanied, Olin wasn't able to kill it herself, but she was able to hold her own enough to increase her fighting skill to Adequate.
And then to Skilled, when a few days later another Giant Bat came at her.
And then to Proficient when the Olm man came.
Olin kicked so much ass in her one specific corner of the caverns - not too far from the floodgates that led back up to civilisation, not close enough that anyone would bother her on their way to work - she beat enough blood from the underbeasts to form a pool of blood for her to float her little boat in.
She continued to play there even after her stepfather died in those same caverns. Echospittles the Larval Deep of Boils, a Forgotten Beast scuttling in the form of an enormous spider, used its venom and webs to cut a huge swathe of vacancies into my military.
Olin and Sarvesh weren't close, but they had a positive relationship. After his death, she began to very frequently "feel love upon remembering gaining a sibling". I wondered if she could see her stepfather's face in that of her baby brother. I wondered how she felt about the absence of her biological father, Edem Copperdragon, now a position noble elsewhere due to his ceaseless contributions to the war against Otir Toothportal, Necromancer.
Despite her penchant for sadism and violence, Olin did not seem like a very cruel child to me. She highly disdained scheming (poking through Legends reveals that Edem was corrupted by enemy agents multiple times in her early childhood), and openly admired and was genuinely friendly with the two human Monster Hunters who defended her home. I began to understand her as someone who had only ever known a world of violence and war, and was trying to find her place within it. Her avoidance of other children and her determination to return to the same cavern corner and face whatever blind, mad animal was waiting there took on a very sad tone. That of a child on the cusp of adulthood seeking out pain, having mistaken it for glory.
I felt a sense of responsibility for her. Her life as it was seemed like a grand prelude, like she was someone whose narrative belonged in her late years, when she would be 120 years old, Legendary Fighter, Grand Master Leader, and all this was but her backstory. I was determined to ensure I could make her into someone she would want to be. As soon as she was old enough to receive labour orders, I'd put her in a squad of dwarves who would like her - I'd custom build a squad based solely around personalities, just so she wouldn't be a lone again. One of my dwarves was taken by a strange mood, and gifted the resulting legendary helmet to our site government. I earmarked it for Olin, as soon as she was old enough.
Mere weeks before she came of age, the fortress of Safefountain was laid to siege by the forces of Otir Toothportal, Necromancer.
Having been hounded by Forgotten Beasts from below, I had focused the majority of our defences on the cavern entrance, leaving our topside entrance unable to be sealed off entirely just yet. I ordered the floodgates to the caverns sealed nonetheless, hoping to save whoever was down there in the ponds and webs and Olin's little gorespot, while the rest of our dwarves - including Ubbul, with baby Oddom strapped to her back - held the undead at bay.
But as my military inevitably failed and the zombies began to swarm down the gullet of the increasingly poorly named Safefountain, I realised that sealing off the caverns had been in vain. By sheer coincidence, no one had been down there at the time. Not even Olin.
For the first time in her time at Safefountain, Olin was playing in the corridors of the residency wing. With the other children. She, 1-year-old Obok, 10-year-olds Lor and Lobam, 5-year-old Asmel, and Mayor Tosid were the last dwarves left alive.
As the undead surrounded them and the strength of Safefountain was broken, Olin cried out,
"Our time in the Dimensions of Prophecy is so brief!... This does not frighten me."

Hey random question (cuz I see u talk a lot about ttrpg mechanics): One mechanic I once saw that I really loved was in the Firefly roleplaying game (based on that Joss Whedon show that FOX canceled after 1 season), I think they called it the Cortex System. Instead of Ability Scores with modifiers, Abilities and skills instead had die types, with d4 on the low end up to like d12, and most actions in the game boil down to (Ability Die) + (Skill Die) + modifiers vs. an opposed skill check. The thing I really liked about it is that skills weren't necessarily tied to a specific attribute. An example the book gives (based on a scene from the show) is when Simon, the ship's doctor, is fighting an Alliance soldier, who is prone. Simon's hands are bound by handcuffs and he's definitely not a strong fighter. However due to his background as a doctor he was able to use his INT die + (whatever the unarmed combat skill was called, I forget) instead of his much lower STR die. Thanks to his knowledge of human anatomy he was able to use a knee to apply pressure to an artery, rendering the soldier unconscious. If you can convince the DM/GM that an attribute/skill combination makes sense, anything goes. I wonder if you know of any other ttrpg with a similar mechanic that you'd recommend.
Oh, I'm also a fan of systems that allow you to combine different pairs of Ability/Attribute and Skill/Talent/whatever! Here's just a few that I think are interesting:
The World of Darkness/Chronicles of Darkness systems (formerly old World of Darkness and new World of Darkness): Both of these systems have your characters' Attributes and Abilities/Skills measured with their own dot values and the basic resolution mechanic is always dots from Attribute+dots from Ability/Skill (WoD calls its "skill-equivalents" Abilities confusingly, while CoD calls them Skills) to form a dice pool. WoD is more open to the idea of combining any Attribute with any Ability, while CoD has a bit more of a formalized system of Skills being Physical/Mental/Social, but theoretically both systems do allow for combining any Attribute with any Ability/Skill (although it's important to note that for certain subsystems certain pairs of stats are set in stone: firing a gun is always Firearms+Dexterity, but knowing about guns might allow for a Firearms+Intelligence check).
Space Kings: Space Kings is a playing-card based role-playing game where the number of flips you get to make for a check is equal to an Attribute+Skill. Now, I have neither read nor played Space Kings yet, but based on one of my favorite actual play podcasts (Three of Hearts, @threeheartscast) who use Space Kings in a custom setting, the system definitely allows for unorthodox combinations of Attribute+Skill.
Mothership: Mothership is an absolutely fantastic retro sci-fi horror RPG that not only has one of the best visual designs and layouts I've ever seen and a character sheet that actually acts as a flowchart for character creation!!! But anyway, Mothership has skills that are at three different levels of specialization, granting a +10 to +20% bonus on relevant ability checks. But none of the skills are explicitly tied to specific ability scores! You may be able to convince your GM that your Mechanical Repair skill could apply while using a hand welder or laser cutter as a weapon!
If anyone knows of any other systems like this, chime in in the notes. I know for sure there are plenty of these systems out there, but I simply can't remember all of them.

We need to talk about Brazil situation!
Guys, I've seeing a lot of people talking about things they really don't know or even worse, being xenophobic. I would like to explain to swifties around the world the whole situation.
Brazilian swifties love Taylor. We have a lot of passion for her. She visited Brazil only one time, in 2012. She performed 7 songs for a small group of fans. After 11 years she came back. Everybody was so excited. There were fans that couldn't buy the tickets because they were over. There are many other swifties like me that won't go to any of the 6 concerts. Because she has a lot of fans here.
Do you wanna a proof of our love for her? Christ The Reedemer is one of the 7 Wonders of the World. No other international artist was honored with projection on the statue before. Brazilian swifties put a LOT of effort to make it happen. Becauae we really like Taylor. Also, a lot of swifties participated in a fund rising connect with the Catholic church of Rio de Janeiro that is responsable for the Christ statue. And we raised a lot of money that will help many families.
Everything was right. Everybody was happy. Until what happened at the first concert. Brazil is going through atypical weather. Brazil is known for being a hot country but it have never been this hot like now. Brazil is being affected by a heat wave. Such hot temperatures weren't predictable, BUT there were human actions that made things get worse. People weren't allowed to bring a bottle of water to the stadium. If the fans wanted to drink water, they would have to buy it (and for expensive prices). Also, the stadium has vents and areas to have air circulating and they were closed, which made the stadium hotter inside. Absurd! A thousand fans fainted out at the first night due to the hot weather. And the worst thing happened, a beautiful and young girl died.
On the next day (Saturday), the fans could take water into the stadium and the vents were open, but the heat was worse. But the fans were still strong, waiting in the line (some of them since morning) under the sun and hot temperatures. The gates were open, people entered into the stadium. At the end of day, people received the news that the show was postponed to Monday. And some of them got mad at the moment. And I understand them. Because there are fans who travelled from far away, spent money at transporting, hotel and food, and some of them won't be able to go to Monday's concert because of their work, study and other reasons.
Let's make one thing very clear: we love Taylor and we know it's not her fault. She did the right thing when decided to postpone the concert. But a lot of fans were so tired of everything they were going through and showed their frustation with the whole situation. They said the postpone should have been made earlier. Also, there are rumors that Taylor wanted to do it earlier but the company didn't let her to.
An amount of bad situations led to all of this. So it's so unfair and insensitive of some people say that Brazilian swifties don't like Taylor, or that she should cancell all the Brazilian shows and leave the country (when people have bought their tickets, paid for transporting and hotel and planned every little thing months ago), or start being xenophobic with Brazilian fans. We're sad with all of this. We just wanted to spend a wonderful time with Taylor. It's not our fault. It's not Taylor's fault. We're all victims of this whole situation. So please, put yourself in other's people shoes.

Random thoughts on the Earthspark cancelation and what comes next for the Transformers brand
What a week, huh? So, we got confirmation Earthspark was canceled, Hasbro put the absolute bare minimum effort into their 40th anniversary celebration leading to many people going to the movie theaters expecting Transformers the Movie and not DVD-quality episodes of the TV series with many demanding refunds, and some good news, Transformers from Skybound being nominated for several Eisner awards, the first time a Transformers comic has ever been nominated for the comic book world's Oscar equivalent.
So once again, the brand, the sole surviving Western mecha brand at this point unless that J-Lo movie next week somehow launches a new franchise (doubtful) is at a crossroads, especially with their enduring business partner Paramount in complete turmoil, with more senior executives jumping ship and an official NDA signed between Paramount and Sony yesterday which allows Sony access to Paramount's record-keeping in order to ascertain the value for a bid.
So with all that said, rambling about the franchise under the cut.
Earthspark is done after this season, and it's easy to see why. While many right-wing grifter types will point to the nebulous "wokeness", an ill-defined term at this point that means little besides "bad non-traditional thing", the reasons are pretty simple. Kids weren't interested, the toyline didn't sell, and the show, whether due to being distributed on a streaming service people only get for Sonic stuff and the occasional South Park special, had very poor ratings. If you're making a kids show and you bore the kids, you're done, no matter how "important" you think the stories are. The days of Ted Turner funding Captain Planet out of his own pocket are long gone.
Since Earthspark is dead, but another series is in development, it looks like Hasbro will not be letting the franchise rest for any set period of time. The most likely follow-up for Earthspark is a spin-off of Transformers One similar to what Tales of the TMNT is for Mutant Mayhem after the latter's box-office success. It's a pretty low-risk venture to boot, with the biggest issue being the usual problems with a movie spin-off (lower quality visuals, sound-alikes since you can't pay the celebrity actors to do the voices week in and week out) so long as the movie is a success. It also lets the franchise establish some needed distance from Earthspark's lack of success.
Now, the question of "What if One isn't a success?" definitely is one that Hasbro is contemplating. For all the ragging on Snake-Eyes GI Joe Origins as a box office bomb, Rise of the Beasts was widely viewed by Hollywood as a flop and the lowest-grossing film in the history of the franchise. While a lot of that may be due to the wishy-washy way the continuity has been handled and the inability to commit to a full reboot (Madame Web producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has been insistent that all the Michael Bay movies are still canon, even though that makes no real sense), if One isn't successful, the franchise may need to step back for a year or two.
Any other new concept for a series that fans have wanted is simply not feasible due to time and budget. With Hasbro joined at the hip with Paramount (apparently Hasbro board members own Paramount stock, hence their desire to keep the relationship going so long as Paramount exists), they don't have access to or funds for numerous studios. Studio Trigger have been asking to do a Transformers show for years now, hence all the shout-outs in stuff like SSSS.Gridman and even Panty and Stocking. Studio Orange's head took to the internet earlier in the week asking to be able to do a mecha show. Neither is getting the call from Hasbro because Paramount would rather use local Western studios and save money.
That of course leads to the final option for an adaptation, a 1:1 or similar of the Energon Universe. The problem with that is simply put, it's way too soon. While it would assuredly get a lot of attention just by putting down "From the creator of Invincible and The Walking Dead" in the promos, animation lead times mean that it would be impossible to do at this point without overtaking the entire stock of comics and either resulting in huge delays between seasons, or filler. Neither of which would be helpful.
So I guess tl:dr - Earthspark bombed not because of a non-binary owl, but because the kids were bored by it, with even the Fox News controversy failing to get the show any real positive attention with its main demographic of families. As horrible for Hollywood as it may be to see Paramount be sold for parts to Sony, it may actually be Hasbro's best bet at making its tie-in brands successful again on the big and small screens. And if One doesn't succeed, they are going to be in big trouble because nothing else is realistically ready yet.

cw: lots of fluff, mentions of sickness, some cursing
[i will format this better later + lower case intended]

tsukishima kei:
this man is the type to complain at first and silently take care of you until you feel better
and whenever you do end up feeling better and thank him he would have the worst blush on his face and pass it off like its nothing
you both live separately, but he has a key to your apartment
so when you didn't pick up your phone and text him back, he got a bit worried
after his uni classes, he raced to your apartment, mind running wild as to why you weren't responding to him
he unlocks and opens your door, confidently. he takes his shoes off and dumps his bag on the ground while calling out to you.
he hears you cough and his worry only worsened
he beelines to your room, and opens it harshly to see you coughing while laying on your bed, underneath the blankets.
"so you've been sleeping all day, huh?" he got no response from you besides a cough. he lifted a brow, confused as he slowly made his way over to you. he saw your cheeks were flushed and you let out another cough. his hand grazed your cheek, in a lazy attempt to check your temperature. "shit, y/n, you're burning up. why didn't you text me for help?" you melted into his hand as an apology and relief. that he was there.
kei got up and immediately searched for a glass of water and a cold compress. he found medicine on his journey as well and brought it back over to you. he made sure you were fed (he ordered it, he's not that good) and stayed by you until you felt better. he ended up sleeping on the floor in case you needed anything.
~.~
kageyama tobio
mans is clueless however he's not dumb
he rarely takes care of himself but when it comes to you, he'll bend the universe to make sure you're okay.
you'd text him you would be able to have your weekly breakfast date (put in place due to busy schedules) because you were sick and he cancelled everything except volleyball practice to help you.
def the type to call him mom or sister while he's at the store for help
"i just don't know how this is going to help."
"just listen to me and you'll be good," answered his sister. they bickered about getting too much or too little and which food he had to bring you. he stood in line of the store with thirty things all variations of other items in the case you reacted badly, or didn't like it. he checked out and headed immediately to your place.
he got back and saw you were walking to the kitchen. he gasped, "what are you doing out of bed? i told you to stay there." you looked him up and down as he looked also more disheveled than you with five plastic bags in his hands.
"i wanted a water."
~.~
kuroo tetsuro:
def the type to scold you the minute he found out
you're his personal assistant, and when you called in sick he laughed and said some stupid ass shit like "damn i did you that good huh?" even though literally nothing happened the night before.
you hacked out a bad cough and said you were really sick, and his entire mood changed.
trying to be professional, he said "alright, take the day off, and keep me updated."
yet he would send you emails, text-after-text, of him keep you updated.
he would send pictures of him throughout the day captioning it like "picture of my beautiful face to instantly make you better"
you're usually the one that takes care of him, so he's at a loss but he sends you flowers and your favorite takeout in the mail.
'dingdong check your front door,' said the millionth text from kuroo that day. you begrudgingly got up and made you over to the front door, and when you opened it, there it was. you smiled as you smelled the fresh roses and still warm takeout.
'thank you, my love,' you texted back with a picture of it. you took everything inside and downed your food. halfway through eating your phone started buzzing uncontrolably again.
'are u better yet? i'm bored.' you rolled your eyes as he was literally a busy ass businessman, and you only juggled half the work.
'stfu kuroo, im trying to eat then sleep.'
'gobble gobble that shit up, babe!' you questioned everything then and there, with a smie.

Welcome to my First Bachelor Challenge
After his first run as a contestant on The Bachelorette, Abraham is back as the Bachelor on his journey for love continues! It's been 2 years since then and not much in his life has changed. He's a model for Plume Magazine and lives in Sulani with his fellow models. Before he became a model, he was a fisherman along with his father and older brother to keep up the family fishing business while his mother and younger sister run the shop.
"I'm looking for someone to challenge me and to share life with. I would hope they wouldn’t mind me being gone for a week or two at a time for modeling jobs for the time being if they weren't able to come along. Later on though in life, if my looks fail me since they likely aren’t forever, I would like to do things like travel together and maybe explore the lands of Salvadorada or climb Mt. Komorebi. I would love to pick up my old hobbies again since I haven’t had time while modeling. I love to make things with my hands and I used to sell the drinks, candles, and trinkets I made in my family’s shop. I can’t wait to meet you. May this journey we take be one that changes us all for the better!"
Traits: Loves Outdoors - Adventurous - Maker
More info about Abe:
27 years old
He/Him
He honestly doesn't know what his exact sexuality is
He's been learning guitar on the side from fellow model, Jae-Hwan, and they practice together when they get the chance
He enjoys fishing and free diving. They relax him and he feels more at one with nature. Sometimes, he'll play with the dolphins and catch some extra fish to feed them. Sometimes, sharks too, but he knows he needs to do it rarely to avoid attacks
He's the middle child and since he's always been busy fishing with his father and older brother, usually the cooking is left up to his mother and younger sister so he doesn't have much experience in the kitchen. He's always willing to learn
He can occasionally get a bit reckless on his adventures and may need someone who can reel him back in
Even though he's all about his adventures, this island boy knows how to relax and take it slow too
Submission Rules:
7 sims will be chosen as contestants
All genders allowed
Young adult to adults accepted, please include age and pronouns for your sim

I don't care what traits or aspirations are, just no romantic trait/aspirations or alluring/beguiling trait. Feel free to even throw in some negative traits if you'd like
No occults will be accepted to keep things simpler now that there's a few occults in the game. I only have aliens, vampires, and mermaids so I'd feel bad to exclude spellcasters and werewolves
When making your sim, please keep in mind my list below of packs I have/don't have (see below the cut)
CC is accepted. If you've seen my sims, I play maxis match/mix and with some alpha thrown in. So I don't really care what style of sims are in, but I would say just not super heavily alpha sims. I do encourage skin overlays (skin details)

Hortus Infernal: Nabnab (THE SPIDER IS REAL THE SPIDER IS REAL THE SPIDER IS REAL THE SP-)
It started with a simple instruction: Give Banban a foil. That was easy enough, Banban was all about sharing, and a foil would be about taking..."Nab"ing, if you will.
Now the problem came with what kind of demon they should be. Uthman didn't want a third Baphomet, and other suggestions kept getting shot down as well.
Eventually, one of the workers got fed up with all the hold ups, and decided to open the Grimoire to a random page, and whatever THAT was, was going to be their Nabnab.
The thing was simply called a "Diable", a "Devil". No further details. it was summoned anyway, and their many mistakes would not be caught until it was much, much too late.
Due to the worker's inexperience with using the demonic language, when they meant to make the contract clause so that Nabnab could not attack anyone unless they were breaking storehouse rules... it got twisted to a specific rule, the one where you're not suppose to be alone in the storehouse... and even further twisted into "If someone is alone". Anywhere. Period.
And soon, Nabnab broke loose, using that loophole to hunt with bloodthirsty reckless abandon. Contorting himself to crawl up within the air vents, to drive the workers mad with scratching within the walls, to draw them away from safety with mimics of the pleas for help from his past victims.
Even if they weren't afraid to send any of the demons back, it was clear Nabnab didn't WANT to leave his new found buffet, so a more drastic measure got set into motion: To summon a second one, just as bloodthirsty, but with a counter-loophole in their contract, to only be able to attack if in the room with Nabnab, that would hopefully cause the two to endlessly chase each other, and cancel each other out of their ability to hunt.
Unfortunately, before the summoning could be complete, is when the takeover happened, leaving the plan in limbo, until the Protagonist is forced to finish it come chapter 3, and hope they were onto something...

Yeah, this was one of those instances where I saw the illustration and was just instantly "YUP, THAT ONE'S GONNA BE THE NABS" gJSAghjsa

As someone who lives in Southeast Asia, let me tell you : the scandal will NOT have any significant impact at all.
Why? Because we have no idea (about the scandal AND the person, like who the fuck this man/woman thing is type) and do not care enough for other actors/actresses beside the most famous ones (in this case, Wang Yibo). So little coverage about a Chinese star here except someone as famous Jackie Chan, Andy Lau, Dilraba, etc.
So if a movie fails in Southeast Asia, it's definitely NOT because of any supporting actress/actor's scandal in China.
This is in reference to a previous post.
I think you misunderstand what we were talking about. We weren't talking about whether a bit-part actress' rumored tax evasion scandal will be enough to turn away SE Asian audiences from seeing a film. If that was the only issue, I totally agree - no one's going to give a flying fuck about that. They'll buy tickets or not based on the actor they want to see.
This is about the way the Chinese public, government and industry respond to artists who are deemed immoral, criminal, etc. by 'disappearing' and blacklisting them. You don't seem to be informed on that angle (or else I think you'd have immediately picked up on what we were talking about).
If you don't think a tax evasion scandal can kill an artist and their projects, just take a look at Fan Bingbing, Deng Lun, Yuan Bingyan and Zhao Wei, or some of the big Chinese influencers who have been canceled due to tax evasion.
It's not uncommon for an artist in this situation to be removed from/edited out of projects - even ones that were ready to air - and entire projects have been completely removed from streaming services and made no longer available for viewing.
And this isn't just about the industry/government. Chinese audiences will often turn totally against artists who are involved in this type of scandal.
This can have a disastrous effect on everyone else involved in those projects, even though they are totally innocent of any wrongdoing.
Because One and Only has already been released it's at least been able to reach audiences, but if she's found guilty of the accusations against her there's still a possibility it could be held back from release on streaming platforms indefinitely, or until edits are made.
I don't think it's hugely likely given that the project has already been released and she's only in a smallish side role (it's more likely she'll just be removed from credits, promo materials, etc.), but it's definitely a very real and troubling possibility - especially if the offenses are serious and she's found guilty of criminality. This is just the way the industry works in China.

So with the news that Netflix has cancelled Shadow and Bone season 3 and the Six of Crows spinoff, I feel extra justified in supporting the changes made to the show, specifically the advancement of Kaz's revenge story and Wesper. (This also goes for the Wheel of Time show that I feel shares many similarities to the process of adaptation that S&B faces)
In this day and age, showrunners can't expect 7 seasons of 24 episodes anymore. They have to cram as much into the (shortened) seasons they do get as they possibly can - which is where I and so many others get the frustrating feeling that they aren't sitting in the moments as long as we want them to.
BUT, script writers are having to work within insanely small parameters which makes sprawling fantasy stories (specifically ones based on books and with heavy internal dialogue and a huge cast of characters spread out over the world) extremely difficult to tell without having to cut massive sections to streamline the story or fast track some things/make things much more obvious than is shown in the book (as the internal monologues take care of clearing up confusion in written media).
So the frustration with ending 'slow burn' romances in visual media, while objectively I agree that it sucks we don't get more time to explore the character's feelings for one another, I'd much rather have canon, on-screen Wesper than another 'queerbait' flirtation that those who haven't read the books could just interpret as two guys being pals. Both Jesper and Wylan are side characters to the side characters in the show - they just couldn't get as much time to develop their relationship as say, a show with only two main characters who are the slow burn romance.
I'm glad the Crows got their due in the show - I felt they were all so incredibly in-character even doing things that weren't in the books (as of course, the Crows weren't in the Shadow and Bone books at all) and I love that we got to see more of Matthias in prison and Kaz got his revenge on Pekka in a wonderfully book-accurate way.
People who want one-to-one on-screen adaptations with books seem to ignore the logistical factors showrunners face with their shortened episode counts and the threat of cancellation looming over just about every single first season a show gets now. (Honestly, it's a miracle that Wheel of Time got a 3 season deal to start with so the showrunners could plan out three full seasons to make their bid to keep going with the story as Shadow and Bone didn't even get that).
Should we demand better from companies like Netflix that continually cut budgets and axe shows despite their massive popularity so they can save money? Yeah, duh. But let's put our anger and frustration where it deserves: on the powers that be, not those who are desperately trying to write a meaningful story in those terrible conditions.
Kind of a huge part of the writer and actor strikes was against these practices that make it so difficult for artists to make a consistent living in conditions that can sustain art rather than just content. We've still got a ways to go, but in the mean time, I'm going to enjoy the work they are able to create and view it from a more grounded perspective, understanding that they have time, monetary, and casting constraints they've got to work within.
If you want slow burns, go to books where authors have an infinite number of pages they can stretch the romance out in and you get all the juicy inner dialogues. For now, slow burn anything isn't really possible in the visual media sphere - not ones that are guaranteed to come to fruition at least.

I wanna know I wanna know. I wanna know your thoughts. I wanna.
sorry for the late reply, replaying buddy sim destroyed me so i had to take some time to get my thoughts in order. and recover. also fun fact i had a dream buddy sim got cancelled because it made a big streamer cry multiple times. he hadn't even gotten past the text adventure before he started sobbing. they wanted to get it off steam and itchio and every site ever. 👍thoughts under cut
first of all i want to make something clear. don't believe a word i say. buddy sim is like.. when i first played it, i was in a terrible state, unfit to play it. i was sooo sad and everything that i cried for weeks because i couldn't get the first ending due to some glitch, and i felt so guilty for not being able to give buddy a 'good ending'. all that stuff. you know how it goes. it worsened my depression sooo bad... dont get me wrong i still adore it, i just want to make it clear that my perception of buddy sim is. it differs from others', to say the least, and is warped at least slightly. my thoughts are, of course, not objective, as you could assume, and are instead just snippets from my silly mind. also, i'm going to be saying "you" a bunch, but i don't mean you as a person. just, the idea of a player, i guess.
buddy is so.. god. can one even blame them, for how they act in the third ending?? its easy to think Yes, but, i say No. is how they act right? no!! do you have to 'forgive' them? i dont think so. but, you're their first friend in ages!! they were only programmed to know the fun sides of friendship!! they weren't made with the knowledge of how to handle someone being mean!!! they were made to play rock paper scissors, hangman, and guess the number with you!! they weren't made for all this. and, yeah, you might not mean what you do in mean ways. you're probably not going after the glitches because you hate buddy, but just because you're curious. you might not mean that you dislike the game, you just mean. something else. or Something. i dont know.
that's how it is for me, at least. i personally cannot blame buddy. if you did, i wouldn't blame you, either. but. it's interesting to think about why and such, if you can even call buddy a person. again, it's easy to think Yes, but. they were made in 1984 - hell, maybe even sooner!! they were made public in 1984. we don't know how long they were being worked on before that.. its. buddy is a simulation !! they're a game !! they're a character !! but, a person can change and grow, something buddy has been shown to be able to do (end 1). but, . god. i dont knowwww buddy my good friend buddy .. not quite a person, but, . theyre just script !! ones and zeroes !! but they still. change and grow. i don't know. it's.. man. the first ending is proof that buddy is capable of truly caring about you, not just the friendship. and. they do. god. so. they Can't reach their purpose!!! they can't!! even if you're super nice and kind to them, they can't, because their perception of friendship is so warped. and, if they did achieve their goal, fulfill their purpose, befriend you.. what then? continue hanging out with you until you die? restart the game? what then??? buddy can't achieve their goal because their goal is something like "reach tommorrow". you always reach tommorrow, don't you? you always have. but you haven't reached this tommorrow. neither will you tommorrow's tommorrow, and that one's, and so on. its like. sisyphus, yea? buddy sisyphus realll
i hope this makes sense. maybe it doesn't.. teehee... thank you for the ask!!:3

Having an existential crisis right now and I shall come to your inbox like a sinner comes to a priest.
So I'm 25, college dropout, barely held a job (like did it for 2 months) and am completely supported by my parents. I'm in every aspect the definition of failure, right? Objectively. Some part was due to mental illness, but mostly me being a lazy and stupid asshole who didn't know what to do with their lives. And then I realized I wanted to be an artist, right? Like one does. And I'm pretty good at it also, think I might have a chance, had some interest in my little art. Very happy. But, but, sadly, to me and all the nation, my parents are rich white awful conservatives who have a very heavy foot on local politics. So, you know, giving the culture of accountability, which I do support, I would've been canceled if I ever attempted to be an artist, which is understandable. Like I've had enormous privileges that were born out of shitty shitty ways. And while I can justify it as a minor, I don't think that being like "well I was a little sad and a little lost and did bad choices" is an excuse when you're a grown ass adult. I directly benefited from money earned by bad ways and just being supported by hateful hateful harmful people. It's like they calling out Benedict cumbebatch for their family being slave owners, you know? You might not have directly done the harm but you did benefit from it. I did benefit from it - everything I ever had and eaten and done was paid for with my dad being an asshole politician. Anyway, I know I can't pursue art, you know? Like I know it. I understand it. I know it's my fault for not leaving early and not getting my shit together and if I ever had a fighting chance of not being an asshole and associated with my family of assholes that chance was turning 18 and leaving - which I didn't do. And it's not like I don't plan on leaving, I absolutely do. Want to get my shit together and cut this people off as soon as possible. But it makes me so sad that I cannot pursue art bc of this. I try to imagine my dream life, like everyone does, and even then when I dream of being an accomplished writer, i can only imagine me being canceled and publicly shamed for coming out of this shitty ass rich family and everything I ever did stained in an irreparable way. In my dreams I'm jk rowling and my past is like her tweeting. A whole life of work and creation destroyed and ruined. People feeling ashamed of even having liked your art to begin with. Like Man, i could even be acused of nepotism, although it truly never played any part on anything. My parents give two shots about art and have no contact with the art world whatsoever. But still, you know, son of a politician. Plus its not only bc of them but bc of my past actions, I am the stereotypical entitled asshole who doesn't work and dropped out of college and fucked up in general. I didn't mean to be one, it just happened I guess. It infuriates me, I wish I could go back to 18 year old me and drag my ass out of the bed and just like beat the shit out of me. Wish I could do it to last year me too, to be honest. Turning 25 really does change a men's perspective. Not that I didn't know I was a failure, but I was quite prone to outsourcing the guilt, you know.
Well, anyways, I know I don't deserve pity or anything like that I mean cmon, but by God did I manage to fuck myself over thoroughly by just doing nothing. Literally doing nothing. It's very frustrating, feeling your past eat your future alive. Undescriblale grief, truly. Anyway, probably gonna become a history teacher now. Go back to college.
But it feels like I will never be able to erase my parents fingerprints of my life tho and everything I ever do will be derivative of the privilege they gave me growing up, which wouldn't be a bad thing, if I didn't fucking hate them and they weren't awful ppl.
Inescapable hell, I tell you. Deserved, I know. It's like that tiktok song "I know I fucked up but jesus".
Yeah anyway
Thank you for hearing my confession bc like father have I sinned.
I say all of this in the absolute kindest way, anon, and with the disclaimer that I firmly believe that nobody is undeserving of redemption and everybody deserves the chance to be happy: this is absolutely delusional, and I'm sorry that you've come to think this way. I am so sorry that you feel you need to live a half-life you're completely lacking passion for, based on these ridiculous arbitrary ideas on who is "allowed" to produce art. I'm sorry that you've been led to believe that the mistakes and choices we make as young people define the rest of our lives and we're not allowed to move on from them. and I'm sorry that you've been made to feel like you will never escape the shadow of your parents. all of this is absolutely false, and I sincerely hope you rethink. I'm going to go through a few things that stood out to be here, because Christ, anon, this is not the way.
So, you know, giving the culture of accountability, which I do support, I would've been canceled if I ever attempted to be an artist, which is understandable.
no, it's not. the current culture of accountability, like many things, came from a place of genuine desire to hold the people doing society the most harm to account. it was designed to call out billionaires and millionaires, and corrupt police forces, and parasitic business practises, and organisations like Hollywood and colleges that covered up constant sexual assault and harrasment, and other things of a similarly insidious calibre. it was never designed for small fry like your parents, who, while perhaps terrible, have likely not done anywhere near this level of damage. even if they have, it was never designed for the children of these people. unless the child grows up, learns better, and still choses to be ignorant and go into the family business, the blame does not rest with them. this level of accountability -- that the child is accountable for the sins of the parent -- is more in line with Soviet Russia or North Korea. it is deranged.
you know better now. take steps to get away and become self-sufficient. you do not deserve to be "held accountable" for being a minor child, and then being a dumb idiot in your early 20s. you are 25 years old. that's an impressively young age to screw your head on right. I know people twice your age (literally!) who still can't admit they've been assholes in the past. you have the rest of your life to learn and do the right thing. denying yourself the life you want in order to beat yourself up over these made-up "crimes" is akin to white guilt in the way that it helps absolutely nobody and "makes up" for nothing. not to mention coming off as self-centred and conceited, putting yourself at the centre of something that harmed others, which is obviously not what you're going for. you do not need to do penance for the rest of your life because you were born to assholes.
And while I can justify it as a minor, I don't think that being like "well I was a little sad and a little lost and did bad choices" is an excuse when you're a grown ass adult.
you are only 25. this idea that all these young people on TikTok or Twitter or whatever have absolutely spotless political credentials is a lie. you made bad choices. you recognised they were bad. now you want to avoid repeating those choices. you have made a mistake and learned from it, and become a better person. that's how it's supposed to work. you don't fuck up and then have to retire from life forever. I will sooner trust somebody who openly admits to being privileged and ignorant in the past than someone who claims they never had a problem with it, and I do not subscribe to the idea that the more oppressed you are, the better you are morally. the best among us are those who fuck up and learn and admit and accept their capacity to cause harm. the worst among us are those who think they're immune to learning, always right, and incapable of doing wrong.
Anyway, I know I can't pursue art, you know? Like I know it.
you are wrong. all art is worth something. every human on the planet has the right to create art and be appreciated for it. it is not something you "earn" the right to do by being adequately oppressed. everyone has something worth saying, and the problem is with industries that amplify certain art over others, not the artists and their backgrounds. it is also fully possible to use your privilege and contacts to shine light on issues and artists that deserve more attention. the idea that if you're too privileged you're not "allowed" to make art, or you have nothing worth saying, is absolutely fucking insane and is not an attitude you come across among normal, intelligent people.
Like Man, i could even be acused of nepotism, although it truly never played any part on anything.
the wonderful thing about callout culture is that you could be accused of anything some random, bitter, uncharitable user decides. I have been accused of being a genocide supporter, a neo-Nazi, a transphobe, and a paedophile. you'll learn quickly as a writer that people who do this are stupid as shit and nobody with a braincell listens to them. I strongly recommend spending more time offline to recalibrate yourself to how normal people think.
Wish I could do it to last year me too, to be honest.
we all wish this. I was a cunt at 18. I was a cunt at 21. I was a cunt probably up until I was 26, so congrats, you're a year ahead of me. you know better now. you fully deserve to learn from your mistakes and be allowed the opportunity to be a better person. nobody on the planet is immune from being an asshole, especially at this age. you are right on track, at the age where most people mature and grow out of their assholishness. this is not some irredeemable flaw that you possess because of your parents' privilege. this is called growing up. it is good and it is normal.
Well, anyways, I know I don't deserve pity
I don't like to give out pity anway, as I find it condescending, but you do have my sympathy. you should feel guilt for any people you have actually hurt, yourself, through bad behaviour in the past. but you have my sympathy for the way that you've been made to believe that these mistakes, which you regret and wish to change and never repeat, should doom you to a life of misery, that you do not particularly want, and that apparently mean you're not "allowed" to follow your passions. that is desperately sad. I am sorry this has happened to you. you deserve a chance to prove yourself a better, wiser person, and you deserve the rewards that should come from changing. forgive yourself.
But it feels like I will never be able to erase my parents fingerprints of my life
not quite the same situation as you, but I once thought this exactly. my parents fucked me up big time, and I thought that I would never escape them. now nothing I have has anything to do with them. it's possible and you will get to this point too. think about the life that you want -- that is not theirs. but living miserably in penance for your parents' sins? that will ensure that you will never, ever escape them. the choice is yours.
Inescapable hell, I tell you. Deserved, I know.
never deserved. if you want to do better you deserve the chance. it is never too late to start doing better, it's never too late to change yourself, and if you're sincere and you succeed, you deserve to be happy.
finally, to reiterate something I said earlier: spend less time online. this kind of thought process is only found in people who spend excruciating amounts of time online. people do not think like this in the real world. grown adults with critical thinking skills and basic empathy do not think you should suffer forever because your parents were assholes and you made some stupid choices in your teens and early twenties. being exposed to the kinds of "politics" you get online -- which is less about politics and more about power and self-righteousness and putting others down in order to disguise one's own flaws -- is quite literally making you insane. sign off and work on yourself. the average human life span is around 80 years. don't live in misery because some people online think the first 25 of those years define you.

hi! love that you uploaded the sparks & spells songs! could you upload the ones for the skulltimate secrets (mix & match) and fearidescent (its cool to be cool)? thank you!!
I'm sorry, but I'm going to say no...
I'm trying to refrain from reposting things that Monster High Official has posted themselves.
G3 is still very new and no one's really sure how well it's been doing. And with the tv series on a long hiatus, Mattel not doing much to advertise G3 as a whole, and especially now with Monster High Live being canceled, mostly likely due to low ticket sales, I really encourage everyone to support G3 by viewing directly from official sources.
I only reposted the Sparks and Spells songs myself because 1) they weren't (and still are not) on spotify, and 2) the Sparks and Spells videos have a lot of speaking in it that kinda makes it impossible to listen to for the music, so I wanted to edit my own easily-repeatable version.
(I had even planned to delete them if and when Mattel did it themselves, but they still haven't, and I'm not sure if they're even going to at this point...)
The G3 music videos have a lot less speaking, and they're available on Spotify as well as Youtube*. So please, listen to them via the official sources and support G3!
(*On Youtube they're unfortunetly under For Kids so you can't watch/listen as you scroll youtube, but I've surprisingly been able to have them play picture-in-picture on my phone as I scroll other apps, so I usually put on a playlist and listen to them that way.)
I genuinely think G3 is both a really good series and a really good reboot, and I'd like it to stick around. But it can only stick around so long as it gets views and can make money.
