the first thing to stand out on him appearance wise would be his hands and arms, shoulders, teeth, hair, legs and thighs, but especially his torso! With his dreamlike and eccentric presence they didn’t take him seriously Saturn influence but as time passed and he worked on his crafts and himself everyone seen him as the star he is. Capricorns are known for having to mature quicker than others because of responsibilities. First off we already know how dreamy and passionate he is when it comes to his communication skills, in school years he could’ve been the kid nobody noticed in class, also bullying could’ve been a issue, the type to sleep through class, also his siblings could be talented as well, he/they could have many secrets they share between each other. Now he could’ve had an erratic home life he could’ve moved around a lot & moved far away at a young age since Venus is in the 9th. There is a lot of mars masculine energy here so he likes chaos/excitement in his home also lots of sporty/action stuff around the house I feel like when he first met bts it was like his first taste of freedom in a way. I tell ya rn there was never a dull moment where he lived lol. Him and his family were always in competition with someone they had to fight for their place. * “I don’t remember you telling me there were monsters lurking around your school, so we’ll call it even.” In your defense there hardly ever are monsters around you these days—Percy’s a different story though.

* “How is Ares these days?” And then after a moment he adds: “and how are Clarisse and Dennis taking to having family around after all this time.”

* ‘The question of the year.’

* He takes your silence for an answer. “That good, huh?”

* “I think he’s really different from what she imagined—and that’s causing some friction.”

* Clarisse has spent her entire life with a mortal parent she couldn’t entirely relate too—someone prim proper who believed in rules and order.

* When she found out Ares is her father she attributed all her other-ness to him.

* Her rage, her rebelliousness, her desire for control — it was all because of him.

* But now, seeing her Father trail after her like a lost puppy, wearing short shorts and sleeveless tanks, and lounging around all day admitting the stories about him were greatly exaggerated—

* “Oh Hercules? He was a real looker in his prime, a real spitfire, the sexual tension ebbed over the pot a little when he slayed Kyknos.”

* “She’s having trouble coming to terms with the fact that all these ‘negative’ traits she's attributed to her father aren’t his, they’re just…who she is.”

* ‘It’s not a bad thing to be full of wrath and rebellion, after all a goddess’ wrath is the only reason I’m alive.’

* “She’s not even that bad though, Annabeth’s been freaking out about the tree and searching for clues in any book she can get her hands on, and Percy’s even worse because he has only child syndrome.”

* Zagreus snorts on the other end. “That’s rich coming from an only-child.”

* ‘It might be nice to have a sibling, especially one that was made specifically so I would have a friend.’

* “Do you think…do you think Poseidon loves Percy?”

* You’ve classified him as a degenerate for so long that the question surprises you, even when it passes from your own lips.

* It’s unimaginable to you that someone would have a child just for the sake of another of their progeny.

* But gods don’t think should children like mortals do.

* “Have you ever met Poseidon (Y/N)?” The phone crackles on the other end when you tell him no.

* “He’s not as good or bad as you’re thinking he is.”

* ‘What the hell does that mean?’

* You hear a thump beside you, and when you turn you see a certain dark-haired, ocean eyed boy.

* “I have to go Dad, I’ll talk to you soon…Cerberus’ treats are in the pantry, love you too.” You sigh when you click the phone shut, turning to Percy with a smile.

* “What’s up?”

* “I don’t know how much longer I can stand this,” he groans.

* ‘Out of the pan and into the fire.’

* “The tree right, don’t worry, what’s the worst that can happen? Zeus turns us all into trees as punishment? Being a willow tree might not be so bad—”

* “I meant Tyson.”

* ‘Oh,’

* “I thought you liked him?”

* Percy sighs. “I did—I do! I just…I don’t understand it. Why would Poseidon…have a child with a cyclops.”

* “Well…he’s got that forge underwater, right? And there’s a lot of steam so clothes stick—” Percy flushes.

* “N-no, n-not that!” His hand rotates to the back of his neck, an aggravated blush creeping up his face. “Forget the…laws of attraction or whatever, why’d he have to claim him? Everyone��s making fun of me now, it’s like I’m a joke,” he huffs.

* “Is this about the other kids teasing you?” His silence tells you it is. You sigh. “Look Percy…it’s easy for them to make fun of you for a monster-sibling when they’ve got other demi-gods to pick from.”

* His eyebrow quirks up.

* “What do you mean by that?”

* How do you explain this to a child?

* “Tomorrow, if something happens to your mom, Hades forbid, what are you going to do? Who do you have to rely on in this world?”

* “I have you.” He doesn’t hesitate for a second, not even a blink, the answer slips pass his lips like the most basic truth of this world. “A-and I have Annabeth and Grover, and Ch—” He lists each one off using his fingers as a marker, and you feel a soft smile curl on your mouth.

* “And you have Tyson. Even if we’re all pulled away from you because of the Gods' whims, Tyson will always stay on your side.”

* ‘A child literally made to always be on your side—so you’re never alone.’

* You can see that he understands now by the misty glaze in his eyes.

* “I feel like a dick.” Percy mumbles, his face in his hands. All you can offer is a laugh. “I-I’m going to go find Tyson and give him a hug.” Percy abruptly stands up, remembering that he doesn’t know where he’s heading.

* “He’s probably with Beckendorf!” You shout, earning a bright smile and wave from percy as he starts jogging to the forge.

* ‘What a good kid.’

* You feel good about how that went. But the peace doesn’t last long, because a moment later you feel the presence of someone standing behind you.

* You turn to see everyone’s favorite forever flushed, golden curls, counselor.

* He fidgets with makeshift camp halfblood tank top, the hem rolled between his index finger and thumb.

* “Can I sit?” He asks, and he looks so awkward you can’t bring yourself to say ‘no’—not even as a joke.

* You pat the spot beside you on the picnic blanket.

* “It’s a free hill.” Ares sits down beside you, whistling at the spread of food.

* “Are these Persephone’s baklava?” He picks up the container, a smile creeping on his mouth. “Persephone always made the best stuff, even in the old days.”

* “I didn’t know you knew Persephone.”

* “Of course I did, she was famous back in the day—still is.” The Tupperware container creaks as he snaps off the lid. “I still remember watching her turn Titan-sized and then beat the shit out of Kronos.” He snorts, popping a baklava in his mouth.

* His head tilts to the side, the dots in his mind slowly connecting. “I guess that’s something you have in common.”

* ‘I can’t believe Persephone fought Kronos and won…I can’t believe I fought Kronos and won!’

* Looks like beating the odds is in your blood.

* “You know Persephone is kind of the reason Dite and I broke up—”

* A horrifying thought occurs to you, “were you and Persephone…a thing?”

* “Not really, except for those two weeks I pretended I couldn’t read and we kissed a bit—” that’s concerning, “—basically I found out Persephone was a fertility goddess and I thought it would be cool to torment my dad a little by marrying her—” that’s also concerning. “—how was I supposed to know Dite, who’d been fucking all over Thebes and Olympus by the way, was going to get pissed off about it, or that Kore’d already met her Underworld Daddy.”

* Somehow, that’s the most sensible part of the story.

* There’s a moment where the only sound is the wind scraping against your ear and Ares munching on baklava.

* “What’s your endgame with Aphrodite? She’s married to your brother—”

* “Don’t remind me,” he scoffs.

* “—do…do you want to steal her away from him?”

* He looks at you like you just suggested you both go out and kick some puppies.

* “Of course not, I just want to join them.”

* Oh…OH!

* ‘That makes sense.’

* “Hephaestus will agree as long as she’s happy.” He pops another piece of baklava in his mouth. “All I have to do is get Aphrodite to fall in love with me.”

* It’s not the worst thing you’ve ever heard. In a way they’re all already family considering Hephaestus raised most of Aphrodite and Ares’ children.

* “Knowing you, it'll happen sooner or later.” Despite his faults, Ares is earnest and honest. You can…kind of see the appeal.

* He returns your words of kindness with a small smile.

* “I gave you some juicy gossip so now it’s your turn to give me something—“

* ‘And just like that he’s trash again.'

* “—how do I make Clarisse like me?”

* ‘And just like that he’s redeemed himself.’

* “Why do you think she doesn’t like you?”

* He gives you a look.

* “Right.”

* “I…I didn’t realize she’d gotten so big.” He mumbles. “Last time I checked the was barely bigger than my palm, I guess, I thought she’d always be that small.”

* Gods don’t age the same way humans do, that’s why it’s so hard for them to change or realize things.

* It’s sad, but it makes sense that from Ares perspective he turned away for a second and realized his child had completely grown up.

* “Just give her some time, she’s coming to terms with a lot, you can’t expect her to have a great relationship after you’ve been gone her whole life.”

* Ares nods, standing up and brushing off dirt from his shorts.

* “That’s the most boring advice I’ve ever got,” A small smile curls on his face. “but I’ll still give it a try.”

* You sigh, peace and quiet at last.

* ‘All it cost me was an entire tub of Persephone’s baklava.’

* You’re thinking of laying back and soaking in the sunlight when you hear footsteps get closer.

* ‘Probably Dionysus here to complain about the tree, it’s all coming full circle.’

* “A picnic delivered from the Underworld?” Your ears prick at the sound of the voice, unfamiliar and masculine.

* You turn slowly. A man with curly black hair, bright blue eyes, and dressed in a red tracksuit looks back at you.

* Even though you can’t place him you can feel power radiate off of him. His mouth twitches up in a lopsided smile

* “Do you mind if I join you?”

Note

On the Percy Jackson series, now that the season has concluded, do you have any thoughts on it, whether standalone or as an adaptation, about what worked and didn't work in it? I ask partly because I want to analyse it as its own thing but I can't stop getting hung up on the changes and I'm not completely sure why.

Of all things, Gabe is the big one for me. They turned him from a repulsive abuser to a pathetic manchild who lacks the power dynamic of his book counterpart and was so consistently treated as comic relief that I actually pitied him. The fact that he shares the fate of his book counterpart actually kind of angers me and it's hard for me to look past that. It left a mean-spirited taste in my mouth.

I don’t think I’ve talked enough about what did work, and I do think there’s a place for talking about that, so I’m glad you asked!

I think Walker Scobell could play a really excellent Percy Jackson. And I think Leah Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri are both very endearing in their roles.

I’m not going to throw shade on 14 year-old actors and actresses. There’s no shade to throw. Acting is vulnerability combined with introspection and understanding. No teenager is going to have the same level of vulnerability, understanding, and introspection, expressed with the same skill, as we’re used to seeing in adults, period. And the show doesn’t do them any favors by giving them very adult lines and very adult-behaving characters to play.

Which segues nicely into—the character’s “arcs” are completely different in the show, but they feel more like…”alternate universe” characters than “out-of-character-rewrites.” For the most part.

I already touched on how Grover is a completely different Grover in the TV show. His fear is both too serious and not extreme enough. He’s not comedic. Instead, he is a voice of reason, and he does have a maturity the other two don’t have. He’s written to talk to the other adults differently than Percy and Annabeth are—more like equals, less like teen-vs-adults. You can easily believe that Grover is a 24 year-old in a kid’s body during those scenes, like the ones with Ares.

But there’s a reason he’s not like that in the Percy Jackson books; he’s comedic, and he’s Percy’s best friend. Percy’s only 12 when they meet; it’s weird for a 12 year-old to be best friends with a 24 year-old—who BEHAVES like a 35 year-old, with all the gravity, and maturity, etc. But if the 24 year-old is a magical creature who, for his species, is still pretty young, and has a comedically immature personality, then the chemistry works much better. Anyway. Not my point.

My point is, Grover might not be Grover, but you can still see trace elements of Grover in him. Like how you can see echoes of Spider-Man in Spider-Gwen’s story. It’s an alternate-universe, not a do-over.

Grover still wants to be a seeker.

Grover still feels guilty about not taking better care of Thalia.

Grover still gets the most outraged and cares the most deeply about nature and crimes against nature.

Grover is still a peace-lover at heart, so he’s the most gentle in relational interactions.

‘That kind of stuff is still there. It’s just re-contextualized and…made less fun. That’s all. More serious. More grit.

Same thing with Annabeth:

Annabeth still wants to prove she’s the best of the best.

Annabeth’s still given up on her normal family and is most comfortable in life-or-death strategizing.

Annabeth’s still smart, but specifically wise enough to notice Percy’s heart of gold while everyone else is busy being afraid of or disappointed in him.

Same thing with Percy:

Percy still has the stubborn rebelliousness we all know and love.

Percy’s still a guy who goes with his gut first and foremost.

Percy’s still willing to sacrifice the future for the present, if the present means saving the people he loves.

Percy still makes wise-cracks at wildly inappropriate times.

And I think some of the show is really well written. Some of it. Two parts in particular stand out. The first is when Annabeth and Percy have the post-killing Medusa conversation, and they have that, “she tried to get me to betray you. What did you say? I killed her sister. What did you say? I cut off her head.” exchange. That’s great. The point of that conversation is “you can trust me because no matter how I might be tempted, this is the line I won’t cross.” But they don’t come out and say that. They have the characters say it without saying it, if that makes sense.

The second bit of good writing that comes into my brain was Luke’s conversation with Percy about being small and scary. It was such a good way to introduce the important concept of why gods need demigods/why gods fear demigods, while also lore-dropping things like “Annabeth is afraid of spiders” and “this fantasy world does have rules.” And on top of those boxes getting checked, you can also see the conversation from Luke’s point of view—he’s bitter about being thought of as a small thing to the gods, but now he’s starting to embrace the scariness part.

So some moments are good, writing-wise. Especially if you tilt your head and say “this is an alternate universe.” I just think they’re not always the right moments for Percy Jackson.

The young Pete Mitchell was known for his rebellious ego and his daring maneuvers in the cockpit of his F-14. However, his most daring adventure was going to be on the solid ground of the Earth. With his ideals, he would take a challenge if it would kill him in the end, but he lived through the adrenaline.

He had met her at the military gala of 1986. They locked eyes across the marble floors. Pete was in his best whites, pressed and pins showing his absolute elegance across his chest. You're absolutely beautiful and Maverick’s fiery eyes pull you in deliciously. He was like a magnet and you were the opposite pole, and he was stuck to you.

You and his relationship were hidden from the public view, only blossoming behind closed doors and small closets around the base. Admiral Williams, Y/N’s father and Mavericks superior, shadowed over the relationship unknowingly. You had been told that dating a pilot was a dangerous business, and his anger would be if he found out you had been with one.

One day, the secret was out.

It was nine in the morning, the sun was pooling through the windows and into your room. Pete is laying in your bed, naked and sun-kissed. You're wrapped up in the sheets with him, tucked into his arms. You hate the sun in the morning for waking you up from the feeling of him.

“Oh, shit!” You jump up, grabbing your underwear from the ground and your clothes. While you're tugging them on, you hear a knock and a cough. Pete is utterly confused, one eyebrow raised as he wakes up from the events before. “Pete! Get up! My dad is coming over today, in like.. now!”

That gets him up and rising, trying to pull his jeans on and close the belt as he trips while shoving his legs in. Pete is trying to fix his hair while it's crazy, spikey on the top. In a second, your father is standing in the doorway as he opens his mouth, he shuts it. Pete turns his head at you, gives you a small ‘I’m sorry’ smile, then to his superior.

“Dad, listen, I can expla—” You say, holding your hands up. Your father shakes his head and holds his hand up.

“No, Y/N, go down stairs honey. Maverick, get dressed and I'll see you down there.” His words feel like a dangerous poison, and the venom seeps into your veins as you shamefully walk downstairs. You're young, eighteen years old, and still growing up. Pete is the same age, having just joined the Navy a year ago. The playing around is almost customary for two young adults still trying to find themselves. Hopefully your dad will understand that.

As you sit downstairs in a fluffy blanket pulled up your chest, flipping through the magazine that was on the coffee table. Your dad walks down stairs, rubbing a bent hand against his chin as he looks at you disappointedly. “Y/N, come here, sit at the bar.” You begrudgingly stand up and walk to the bar as your father makes breakfast. You're staring at the ground and he sets the food in front of you.

“Y/N. That boy is trouble. That's all he is. If you mess around with him, your reputation will get ruined.” Your father's words don't make it past your angst, as you chew into your food. “Are you listening to me?” Pete emerges from the stairwell, fully dressed with his bomber jacket on.

“Maverick. Sit down.” Your father's words aren't calmer than they were with you, they're angry. At either you, him, or most likely the both of you. “I don't care how long this has been going on. However, me and my daughters reputation will not be ruined by your behavior. I will see that you will stay away from her. I don't want to see you around the base, or even close to her.”

You go to retaliate but your father shushes you and Maverick looks down on embarrassment. “Which, means you will stop seeing my daughter. So, pack your stuff and leave, Maverick. I will see you tomorrow on base.” Your protests are ignored as Pete puts his boots on and starts walking towards the door, leaves the house, and shuts it close behind him.

You stand up and run after Maverick as you hear his bike rev up. “Pete!” You yell as you run out the door and for him. His head turned to yours, a small frown etched on his mouth. You make it to him and he wraps you in his arms. “I’m so sorry, Pete, I'm so sorry.” You're kissing him while he holds you. The kiss is different from the hundreds you've shared: it's long and you can't get enough of it.

“I have to go, don't you forget me.” Pete tells you, giving you a small kiss on the forehead before he revs up his bike one last time. “I love you, so much.” He says, kissing you before he rides away and leaves you.

You curse your father for making him leave, you curse your life, you curse everything.

You find him again.

You're sipping on a non-alcoholic Shirley Temple in the corner of the music hall. The live orchestra has your attention captured. Within a second, you see him talking with Goose and those bubbly feelings from when you were eighteen begin to appear. Suddenly, your feet are dragging you to the handsome pilot who drinks from a clear glass.

“Oh, Pete.” Is all you say as wrap yourself up in his arms. It's dangerous knowing your father is just on the other side of the room. But isn't that how it all started in the first place?

KimChay still happens despite Kim sleeping with Porsche. As much as they care for each other, there are no deeper feelings. This isn’t a forever relationship. It’s sex in exchange for protection that morphs into fond companionship, but that’s as far as it ever gets.

Chay is ~14/15 when Kim joins the family. Kim is ~18. This means that while Kim is acting out being rebellious and thinking he’s more mature than he is, Chay falls into the Annoying Little BrotherTM category. And he really… doesn’t leave that mental image Kim has of him until they’re both much older, and Kim realizes oh no, he’s hot.

But until then! Some canon KimChay things happen, like the guitar tutoring! Kim doesn’t get the chance to become Wik in this AU, but he still has his love of music. It’s his primary coping mechanism for *gestures at everything*. He nearly cries when Porsche rewards him with a guitar a few months into their arrangement. Then at some point Chay catches him playing, likes what he hears, and pesters Kim into teaching him until he finally gives in.

Chay is also a naughty little gremlin with a cute crush on his brother’s sex slave, and maybe kind of wondering if they’re like. Exclusive? Or if it’s more of a “Kim sold himself to the family, for anyone to use” kind of deal? And if maybe he has a chance? (He doesn’t. He’s too young, he’s been firmly little-brothered by Kim, and Porsche would kill him for trying. But a guy can dream, okay? It doesn’t help that he’s seen Kim in compromising positions way too many times not to fantasize about being the one to put him in those positions.)

Anyway. There’s the context for this scene.

Chay is still turning his guitar while Kim idly strums on his own. He has a little monitor sitting on the table in front of them, flashing red and green lights to let him know when he gets it right. Kim hasn’t managed to teach him how to tune by ear yet. He hates the monitor; Kim vows to break Chay of that filthy habit eventually.

“Who taught you how to play guitar, P’Kim?” Chay asks, in that sweet voice of his. He’s staring down at his guitar with a little furrow between his brows, carefully twisting the frets in miniscule increments. Kim’s getting frustrated just listening to it. He wants to tell the boy he’s at least two full turns off, and the glacial pace he’s taking is excruciating.

“My brother,” Kim answers, and doesn’t say anything more, even when Chay gives a curious little hum. Of course, Chay is never one to exist in silence.

“Do you ever miss him?”

Only when he let himself.

“No.”

“Aow, really?” Kim nods once, tightening his grip on the neck of his guitar. He isn’t strumming anymore. “I don’t know what I would do if I left hia. I think I’d miss him so much I would die.”

“My brother and I weren’t close.”

“You came here because of him, right? To protect him? You wouldn’t do that if you didn’t love him.”

“You’re right, Kinn is the reason I’m here. Because of his stupid decisions. I don’t want to be here.” Kim fights to keep his voice even. He isn’t going to snap at Chay. He isn’t going to encourage this line of conversation, either.

Chay stopped trying to tune his guitar.

“Do you hate it here?”

Does he?

Kim isn’t mistreated. Porsche has never once forced himself on him, and didn’t punish Kim when he killed three guards for attempting to. Porsche has held up his end of the bargain to shelter Kim from his father’s wrath. He never leaves the compound, but not because it’s forbidden; he has more freedom than he expected to, when he first offered himself to Porsche’s mercy.

“No,” Kim eventually answers. He takes Chay’s guitar from him and begins to tune it.

“Do you want to leave?”

“I don’t have anywhere else to go.”

“But if you did, would you?”

“Maybe. I don’t know. I haven’t thought about it.” Kim doesn’t see the point of perseverating over something that won’t happen. These are his circumstances. They aren’t going to change. It doesn’t matter what he would do if things were different, because they aren’t.

Chay takes back his guitar, now tuned, and stares down at his hands on the strings.

“I’m sorry, P’Kim,” he says, standing. “That sounds like a very sad way to live.”

Kim watches Chay leave without another word. He feels like he should call the boy back. He doesn’t.

You heard the door creak open, and you immediately stopped playing. You frantically wiped the many many tears away from your face. But you couldn’t make the tears stop.

You looked up and saw the one and only dean of evil, Lady Lesso, standing across the music room. You gulped. She stared at you, not saying a word.

“I’m sorry… I’ll go…” you muttered.

“No!” Lesso exclaimed.

You looked up puzzled and a little afraid.

Lesso relaxed her face and spoke softer, “Please, continue.”

You gulped and nodded, moving your hands back to the instrument. You began to pluck the notes once more and accompany the melody with your hoarse voice.

I just turned 14

And I think this year I’m gonna be mean

I punch my walls, stay out at night, and I do karate

By the last few lines, you and your voice was falling apart. Your hands dropped from the harp and your head fell in your hands as you sobbed.

Lesso froze for a minute as you combusted in the music chair in which you were sitting. Her instincts were conflicted…

On one hand, she had the urge to smack you and tell you to get it together.

On the other hand, her heart cracked at your position, and she wanted to come over and comfort you forever.

Lesso knew that you had troubles. Troubles with friends. Trouble at home. Troubles mentally. Knowing this only made the redhead feel for you even more.

She cautiously approached the crying student in front of her, stretching her arm out to rub your back lightly.

You jumped slightly as you felt the deans hand on your back. But you were quick to get used to the touch, and you even leaned in for more. You whimpered slightly as her hand eventually retracted. But then you saw that the woman was getting a chair and pulling it up next your yours.

Lesso sat down next to you and put her hand on your back once more. Her touch seemed to relax you, she noted.

“Take deep breaths.” She instructed.

The red head hummed in satisfaction when her instructions were followed. She placed her other hand on your outer thigh, rubbing circle patterns on it. She noticed that you were getting your breathing under better control.

“Thank you…” you hesitantly whispered.

You half expected the dean to just leave as you uttered those words, but she didn’t.

“Anytime, sweet boy.” The woman comforted.

Her hand then moved from your thigh to your chin, and it swiveled your head to meet her gaze.

“It’s okay to cry, you know that right?”

Your lip quivered and you nodded shakily, before more tears erupted. You instinctually put your head into the deans shoulder.

Lesso hummed as your head found comfort in her shoulder.

“But don’t you ever tell anyone I told you that…” she teasingly warned, causing you to chuckle lightly.

Hi anon! Thank you for the message, this one really got me thinking. I actually have a very particular headcanon specifically about Leon and Sherry’s dynamic in the universe I’ve conjured up ahaha. Prepare for your mind to be blown cause I’m about to breakdown familial trauma lmao. Cracks knuckles and neck.

Also, I don’t own fuckboy! Leon or the trope, but I’d like to think this is my own personal hc for this dynamic is all. :)

In my mind, at least in this au, Leon was placed into the foster care system early on as a young child when his parents pass away. They died in a hit and run as misdirected targets, or a bad accident. So with no other family members he knows of (that also didn’t want him), he finds himself jumping from household to household and develops trauma along the way. He’s a relatively quiet kid at first, nervous and anxious, but he grows to be rebellious when he gets a little older, thinking he won’t get adopted.

That is until around the time he’s 9, a rich white family takes one good look at him and says “yup, I want him”, and they adopt him. He’s now in a family with status and money, he doesn’t have to worry about any material things because they can provide him everything he would need and want. All things good right? Wrong!

Sure, his new parents give him everything he needs, but they’re emotionally detached especially his new father. He tried to interact with them, but it just doesn’t work, and his adoptive mom is sweet but not in the way Leon wants. He finds himself comparing his new mom to his birth mom frequently, so now he has both daddy issues and mommy issues. This leads Leon to become a bratty pre-teen (this is when he starts developing all of these traits that actually make him a dick head into adulthood). His actions got so bad around freshman year of highschool that his father threatened to send him out to military school if he didn’t get his act right, and since Leon didn’t want to do that, he calmed down and kept all the things he did hidden away from his parents.

Leon is a snobby prick, he develops a sense of entitlement because of his parents and believes he is owed things. But because of the new familial trauma he has developed over the years, he also grows emotionally detached, doesn’t really think he’ll find that sense of belonging in a family dynamic again.

That is, until his parents end up adopting Sherry when she’s around 5 (Leon would be 14/15 then), because she fits the aesthetic the family wanted to achieve. At first Leon was pissed, didn’t like the idea of having a sibling mostly because he didn’t want to deal with them. But over time, he found himself growing fond of Sherry and rather protective because that was in his nature.

Sherry also has a weakened immune system, so she gets sick often. Her parents gave her more attention than they gave Leon (because yeah), but Leon was the one that actually ends up taking care of her whenever she gets sick. And of course, since their parents have money, they have the ability to take care of her without worrying about expenses.

So, now to the present, both Leon and Sherry are considered foster siblings and have been for years. Leon is stubborn, a traumatizing little shit and is emotionally detached to the point where he doesn’t think he’d be able to handle any intimate relationships. But there are only two people in his life he has cared for enough to break those walls, his birth mother and Sherry. As much as Leon doesn’t want to admit it, he loves Sherry, and she loves him and looks up to him sometimes. Sherry also doesn’t know that Leon went out of his way to get legal guardianship of Sherry when he turned 18 in case something did happen to his parents, they wouldn’t be separated again. (Fear of abandonment fr)

So to answer your question, yes I do believe fuckboy! Leon knows Sherry and they’re somehow in this family dynamic together where he looks after her and she’s the only one that can bring out the softie he is that’s buried under all of that trauma.

I’m totally not thinking about this more than I should btw. It’s not fleshed out entirely, but just my mind being silly.

I’m going to combine these two because, why the hell not.

Again, totally unedited word vomit.

She’s been coming in every night for the last week trying to read the cute blonde’s name tag. Problem is, she’s never wearing it.

She could just ask, but that would require actually talking to the girl. Instead she watches her interact with the other customers as she waits in line. She flirts, and smiles, and genuinely charms every single person she rings up at the register.

There’s something about the corner store attendant that strikes Lexa as a bit rebellious. Maybe it’s the pink highlights in her hair or numerous piercings Lexa has spied. Seven between her two ears alone, the right side of her nose, and what Lexa thought was a Monroe above her lip, but upon closer inspection found out was a freckle.

It’s while staring at that beauty (understatement) mark that Lexa is pulled out of her haze by fingers snapping in front of her face.

“Sorry,” the cashier shrugs with a knowing smirk. “I don’t mean to interrupt your assessment, truly. I could stare at your mouth all night too. But there’s a line forming behind you.”

Lexa feels the blush crawling up her ears as the color simultaneously drains from her face.

Rebellious AND bold, noted.

“I wasn’t- I mean- I’m sorry. I spaced out. Just this please.” Lexa sets the coffee down on the counter as calmly as she possibly can with how much her hands are shaking.

She knows how much it is. She’s been buying the same small coffee here on a nightly basis. Still staring at her own hands and positively terrified of making eye contact with the cashier, she slides the exact change across the counter.

It’s at that moment Lexa decides she’s going to move to another continent.

The cashier meets her halfway, running what feels like a deliciously calloused hand over her own, grasping gently as she accepts the payment.

Before Lexa can enjoy it for too long, she yanks her hand back like it’s been set on fire, effectively knocking the coffee cup over and actually burning the shit out of herself.

Her silver lining comes from a voice at the back of the store.

“Yo, Clarke! What the hell, dude?”

“Piss off, Murphy! I’ll clean it up. Just keep doing… whatever it is you’re doing.” Before Lexa can even apologize, Clarke is wiping up the coffee spill. “Happens more often than you’d think.” She winks. Lexa dies.

“I’m so so sorry, it’s been a really long day.” It’s an awful excuse, Lexa knows the cashier, Clarke, must think she’s an absolute twit.

Either there is a God, or Clarke takes pity on her because the teasing retort never comes. She just puts the coffee soaked money in the register and tells Lexa to go ahead and upsize when she pours herself a new cup.

She doesn’t even go back to the coffee station. Lexa walks herself right out the door of the corner store and vows to never return.

Dad Egbert is this fucking suburban blue collar working man, the poster child of the American dream, and for some fucking reason he REALLY likes HARLEQUINS.

not just CLOWNS, HARLEQUINS, very particular genre of the clown medium, personally I’m more into jesters.

he even considers them a GIFT, a LIFE-SIZED STUFFED HARLEQUIN for YOUR CHILD.

not just as in he likes to bake, he continually bakes shit as a pastime and just leaves it all around the house. there is a WHOLE CAKE on the fucking COUCH.

this is the kind of thing that puts me off of abusive Dad interpretations or fics, because there is absolutely no genuine angst between him and John at all. the Egbert household has no real human problems, they have a scuffle in regards to if the classical goofy performers of ye olde times are valid or not.

if we had June happen and she came out to Dad, his 1st response would not be something shitty and mean like “WRONG!!! YOU ARE NOT A WOMAN YOU ARE MY SON!!! BE MANLY!!!” he’d think that the best way to celebrate this would be making a gender reveal cake stuffed with fucking Weird Pink Slime, and then proceed to gift the little girl a Harley Quinn shirt because she’s a Girl Clown.

Y/n could see Jungwon sitting down with his feet in the water from the glass window. “Yah, Jungwon.” Y/n lightly shouted as she opened the sliding door.

“Y/n,” Jungwon’s head turned to the girl, surprised with her presence. “What are you doing here?” He asked.

“Stop sulking,” Y/n sat down next to the boy and put her feet in the water. “I’m not sulking.” Jungwon scoffed. “Well, I’m here to apologize—.”

“Don’t even.” Jungwon cut her off. “I should be apologizing, you wouldn’t have made those tweets if I weren’t so mean to you.”

“I should be apologizing as well, you feel too guilty to even realize how much I was in the wrong— I should’ve never spoken about you like that so I’m here to say sorry. I’ve been so hypocritical about you apologizing that I totally forgot I had tweeted those!” Y/n ranted on, stuttering a little trying to find the right words.

“I thought you were pretty cute despite your asshole persona.” Y/n said out loud and splashed him with water. “Yah! Seok Y/n!” Jungwon pushed the girl into the pool.

“Yah! I can’t believe you just pushed me in the pool!” Y/n shouted and splashed him once again. Jungwon took his hoodie off and pulled himself into the pool. “There, happy?” He smiled, dimples peeking out.

“You guys are swimming and didn’t tell anyone!” Intak said as he checked what was all the noise outside. “Guys! Let’s all go swimming!” Intak yelled throughout the house.

“Did anyone actually bring a bathing suit?” Y/n asked, “I don’t think so.” Jungwon shook his head side to side. The two watched as the whole house walked into the backyard.

62. One criticism of Moishe I totally agree with is how horrible it was for him to take back the apartment. His grandchildren were growing up in that apartment. Their safety and security should have come first. Not that Midge didn’t have anywhere to take them, Abe and Rose’s place is perfectly fine, and they spend plenty of time in Queens, once the Maisels move, but still. Those kids didn’t desserve to be jerked around that way, no matter how Midge and Joel (mostly Joel) were acting.

63. I never realized even back in the 50′s/60′s you had to pay for temple seats on high holy days. Fuck I’m so glad I never bothered with synagogue as an adult. As if life isn’t expensive enough.

112. This flashback was in such a strange place. It felt really disjointed the first time I saw it. But again, it’s an interesting contrast between Lenny doing some light emotional lifting for Midge (The cab, the sympathy over her busted marriage, the joint, the parting joke to make her laugh) and Joel (letting Midge take care of him as usual).

123. I love this episode. It is an al-time favorite. It establishes Midge and Lenny as friends with a new, but solid bond. It has some great Susie moments, and a great Midge set. Great stuff with Abe and Rose and Abe and Moishe. It’s so solid. I think it might be my favorite season 1 episode. <3
