as much as i love to criticize yellowjackets as i frankly think it's a fumbled attempt at an intriguing premise i CANNOT get behind the "yellowjackets is not as gay as advertised" crowd. i'm not even personally that invested in shauna/jackie and i know there have been dismissive comments from certain actors about the nature of their relationship and well rip to those people i guess because reading shauna/jackie as anything other than a budding lesbian romance tragically cut off before it could bloom is just. wrong? it's not even subtextual, it transcends the text, it's the most important relationship in the story, it IS the story, at the heart of every single thing that happens or doesn't happen is that these two girls were in deep lesbian love with each other. there is no other way to read it if you try to complicate or simplify it by making it about jealousy or identity or friendship you lose both the core sexual desire and the deep romantic love that were (and still are) driving and twisting and softening and ruining everything around these young women

#every week or so i see someone say yj is not gay enough and i do agree theyre pairing off too many of the adults w men #and taissa is unforgivably sidelined #but frankly that's tied to the writers not knowing how to pace their story and shying away from topics of race and colonialism #and mental illness #and obviously theyre being annoyingly stingy w the portrayal of lesbianism #but shaunajackie literally is defined by canon not just to me like its objectively there #it bewilders me when people refuse to see relationships as real unless theres kissing on the mouth #its like if you watch hannibal or read passing or picnic at hanging rock and go 'that wasnt Actually gay'. sorry you missed the whole point #yellowjackets #shaunajackie #sometimes there IS kissing on the mouth and its still not enough no grace is given to queer stories if theyre even a little bit complex #im sick of it!

even if they keep all the story beats the same, the live action ATLA can and should depict Azula and what happens to her as a horrific tragedy - a mentally ill child, broken by an abusive father to fit an impossible and horrific mold, who then comes apart due to the pressures and pain that's inflicted on her. Ozai gave her zero positive coping tools, zero examples of how to understand her own feelings or process them or love others, just rigidly enforced toxic patterns. this leads to her losing even her dearest friends because she's been intentionally broken and hobbled emotionally by a very powerful, monstrously abusive parent

and it would be nice if there's some touch of a glimmer of hope or compassion or grief at the end instead of the viciously ableist gawking "look at the frothing mad woman chained up!" stuff we got in the cartoon.

Fuck it, life appreciation post…

The cold air on my skin as I’m walking down the street with a warm drink in my hand

The light filtering through the autumn leaves and casting the ground in an amber-golden hue

Getting home and sharing food with my friends

Watching, not what I would choose to watch alone, sure, but something I end up enjoying more than anything I would have watched on my own because my friends are there

My friends!

Getting excited already for Halloween next year and what my costumes will be for different times

My cat curled up in my lap soft and warm

A cosy game played in my bed

The feeling of a soft blanket against my body fresh from the shower

The sight of carved pumpkins lining the stoops

A street sign with a funny name I always walk past

Meeting somebody new and being able to infodump about one of my special interests for an hour because it’s for a class and we were studying

Dropping a fidget toy on the floor and somebody handing it to me with a smile

The smell of my neighbours cooking food wafting through their windows in the evening when I’m sitting outside

#sometimes shit sucks #but sometimes. yk what. I like it here #and life is wonderful #I can live through pain #trauma #and mental illness #if it means I get one more hot tea in the morning brewed for me by my roommate #or one more nuzzle from my cat when I get home #it makes it all worth it #positivity #positivity post

I would take the phase “recognize your privilege” more seriously if it wasn’t so often paired with “shut up” and used to mean “you aren’t the Most Oppressed so your problems don’t exist”

i have a new conspiracy theory set off by learning that the fiscal year in south korea ends in june, so far this “year” (of which nine months have passed) blue box have only had one proper comeback (nxde) and will at most fit three... i’m thinking they’re trying to pay a very low amount of taxes for 2022/2023...for some reason...

If people read a book about my life and I was a fictional character, they would relate to me, kin me, get attached to me and make me live out silly little scenarios in their silly little heads with their silly little headcanons. This comic is a little different than what I usually do but I worked real hard on it—Maybe I'll make more infographic stuff in the future this ended up being fun. Hope you learned something new :)

If you are still curious and want to learn more about OCD, you can visit the International OCD Foundation's website. I also recommend this amazing TED ED video "Starving The Monster", which was my first introduction to the disorder and this video by John Green about his own experience with OCD.

The IOCDF's website can also help you find support groups, therapy, and has lots of online guides and resources as well if you or a loved one is struggling with the disorder. It is very comprehensive!
