by the way if standing or sitting up straight causes pain in ur back, try massaging the soft area beneath your solar plexus
be gentle though because sometimes it will be truly, profoundly painful to touch. just do your best to relax and breathe through it. i promise the relief will be immediate.

I know other adults like to joke about how much pain they're in, but genuinely, please try to get your pain checked out if you're an adult experiencing it, or at least adapt your life in whatever way lessens your pain.
Your pain deserves to be addressed. Please don't "let" it get worse because you've been told that to grow older is to suffer. No, you aren't being needy or selfish or annoying. Ultimately, you are the one who suffers the most from the state of your health, and it's entirely reasonable to want your health to be up to your standards.

People who are worried they aren't helping with climate change or any other big world problem bc they do something like make video games or art or are a cashier at a grocery store:
You are helping. You are making the art that helps me, an environmentalist actively working to restore biodiversity and ecosystems, get through each day. You are helping those of us on the front lines enjoy living or take a well-needed break. The person loading my groceries into my car is making it so I can eat that week and have enough energy to do my work. If you want to do more, you can volunteer, donate, and boost the voices of local community leaders working to protect and restore the local ecosystems, but don't feel bad if you can't. We are all in this together.

I discovered something huge about Rolan and Cal and Lia!
I hope I am the only one who didn't realise this until now but Cal and Lia are NOT Rolan's actual siblings.
I killed them just to use speak with the dead spell on them and Rolan's corpse said he has no family. He said only Cal and Lia are brother and sister and "Cal says I am family, but..." and the way he said it is so sad.

I literally woke up in the middle of the night like God will dark rise is so fucking screwed. The line that’s like. “Everyone wanted to kill the Dark King.” What’s the part where he looks at Violet helplessly, haunted, almost pleading for mercy? But of course he reveals nothing of substance to anyone. Elizabeth is too young to understand but the reader knows what “Her relationship with that boy was…unnatural” can mean. Tying him to bedposts? Failing to strangle him? What else? Never not even once seeing beyond a mythological identity Will himself didn’t know he had? What did he think was the reason? That he was just intrinsically hateful? Of course he says nothing. Of course Violet can’t trust him- he’s given her nothing as painfully real as what she’s given him. So he gives her the sword hoping at least he can die at the hands of someone he loved, but even that doesn’t work out - she gives the sword to a Visander still furious at SARCEAN. The pattern continues; no one looks at Will, who vomits when he realizes what’s happened to James, Will who is much of a liar and killer and sneak as Elizabeth accuses but nonetheless wants to be different. Even when he doesn’t remember his own past. There’s no way out for him that doesn’t hurt. Hope this obsession passes soon given the one and a half years of waiting required for book 3

hey since we're talking true detective I think marty is in love with rust but rust is more ambivalent, what do you think?
i wouldn't use the word 'love' to describe their relationship tbh. it's clear, especially at the end of the season, that both of them care about each other in their own twisted and emotionally stunted way. marty cares about rust in a way that closely resembles romantic love, i doubt he would realize it for what it is but he plays along with an engagement joke when he could have easily said something homophobic (which you assume a womanizing cheating asshole cop like marty would say) or side-step it entirely. i wouldn't say rust is ambivalent towards his relationship with marty, he's more ambivalent towards romantic love as a concept ('man can't love' 'men and women only work to have kids'). after marty breaks the truck taillight rust never replaces it, the same way a divorced man may still wear the wedding ring- a reminder of both what he lost and what he once had, a reminder of how rust blows up every relationship in his life. throughout most of the show you could argue they don't even like each other, marty is utterly annoyed by the entirety of rust but he vouches to his boss early on to keep him with him on the case. asks quietly and full of concern if rust as crash is gonna be okay and risks his cover to go into the biker bar to try to drag rust out because he's worried for him. they act like an old bickering married couple half the time, live together without much thought. i don't even wanna TALK about the wedding implications of the finale in carcosa bc it makes me insane. i doubt either man would use 'love' to describe their relationship, it's somehow too limited for what they are.

Hey, hi.
Sooo, I've been rewatching Riptide as you do right? And so I finally got to the episode in which Chip makes his deal with Niklaus and after refreshing my memory on that I do believe that we are entering the point in which Chip has to fullfill his end of the bargain and I'm so fucking worried actually. So first things first let's look at what Mr. Hendrix actually requested from Chip.
So in exchange for returning lost years back to Ollie Chip Has to:
-First: Make the right decision in the hole in the sea.
Arlin is supposedly still trapped below and in great pain. Niklaus for some reason NEEDS Arlin to be kept alive and he wants Chip to keep him alive no matter the consequences which worries me so fucking much. Cause first I was just worried that they are gonna go to the Black sea and find out that there is no way to save Arlin, that he'll die and this will break Chip beyond repair, but now what I'm dreading is that Arlin can't be saved in a way that matters. That Chip will have to make a decision between killing Arlin to let him rest or keep him alive and let him suffer, or even doom the whole world for the sake of preserving his painful existance and that...shit guys, just saying, we're in Black Sea now so brace your fucking selves, we're gonna C R Y. AND THE THING IS if Arlin dies SO DOES CHIP, so he really fucking Has to survive. Cause Chip promised Nik that Arlin survives so even mercy killing Arlin will be breaking a deal and Chip will turn into goop and that's just so damn bad jejdjdjsi
- Second: Supposedly there is an Orb at the hole and he can't touch it. I don't like the way he said it. Nik said sth like "not YOU at least". So what worries me is that he wants someone else to touch it and sth nad will happen because of it, but who then? Gill? Jay? I mean if they find a room with a suspicious object we can kinda count on Gill to touch it immediately, so I'm hoping that Chip doesn't get the chance to interact with it, even if he doesn't remember that he wasn't supposed to. Or maybe sth would happen if Chip touched it? Sth that Nik doesn't want to happen? Either way Chip can't do that now cause if he does he breaks the deal and fucking dies probably, so well shit.
- Third: When the time comes and Nik requests his favor from Gillion, Chip can't interfere. Whatever Nik will have Gill do, Chip can't stop it. He cannot and that of all things I fear will be the hardest thing to do. See, Nik never expected Chip to even come to him. But he was clearly glad that he can use him to shift things in his favor. I feel like whatever dark force turned Sakura into the Black Sea is connected to Alrin's life force and Nik wants the Black Sea to stay. It is messing with the world and unleashing twisted magic into it and I feel like he needs it to stay that way until Gill's time to fulfill his prophecy comes. And whatever Nik wants Gill to do Has a potential to be catastrophic.
Black Sea is definitely not the last chapter, but it's gonna be full of anguish and sorrow. Buckle the fuck up lads, we're in for a ride

tcw as a war story that, by its episodic nature, operates by a sitcom logic time loop. no matter how many battles you win or second thoughts you have, the stage resets at the start of the new episode. you will always revert back to the standard setup, the same easy camaraderie, the first day of the next campaign. you will always wake up to a weapon in your hand once again. the only way to escape is to desert or die
