I've reread Through the Valley again recently and once again started scouring for more fics.

Do you have any fic recommendations (res evil or not) that you would want to share?

I don't read nearly enough Resident Evil fics tbh, but I'm happy to recommend a few of my faves!

I'm sure everyone's familiar with it but I love Mushrooms & Magnets as much as the next person. It's just soooo good and I love Heisenberg in it.

I really like Bite Me, Asshole, and I'm holding out hope it'll still continue bc I also disappeared for a year on my fic so who knows!!

& A series I think doesn't get nearly enough love is the Crow Daughter series, which is an Eveline Lives AU where she ends up in Blue Umbrella/Chris's custody. It's very well done! There was a real rash of Eveline Lives fics that came out around the time of / after Through the Valley (I was maybe the first on this horse to my knowledge lmao but I'm not gonna sit and try to claim some kind of lordship/creatorship over the concept), but this was the main one I read that I actually found to be well-written and well-done.

I've not read much Res Evil in the last few months tho bc unfortunately I got back into Stranger Things like every other loser so like... if anyone knows of good new fics I missed let me know lol.

Jure and Kris?

Tooth rotting sweetness. Jure making Kris laugh and helping him relax. Somehow they've both been the CEO of Joker Out? Kris and Jure talking excitedly about logistics and no one else understands how exciting it is. (Jure built the damn studio the man likes planning and organisation despite his chaotic personality. like look at that body language!! the open expression!! theo literally dragged him in there while liam was losing control but he’s not giving off any anger toward theo at all until theo goes out of his way to be callous about brett and lori. he’s just so earnestly letting theo in on his line of reasoning and i will never not be obsessed with the way he asks “well, are you gonna watch hunters murder [my friends]?” because he so obviously says it as a rhetorical question like!! tell us you’ve started to trust theo without telling us you’ve started to trust theo why don’t you

first of all liam’s little “why are you yelling” is adorable but second of all can we appreciate how he’s just So Confused but he seems more concerned that theo has lost his mind than anything else? like it doesn’t even occur to him that theo’s doing anything shady, he just has no clue why theo’s screaming in that moment. and his expression when theo yells at him to shut up and his whole “did you really have to punch me?” will never not be iconic like PLS he’s basically just whining at theo at this point, there’s no real anger or concern that theo actually wants to hurt him

MYKONOS SCENE MY BELOVED. look at him!! he literally has to take a breath at the end of his infodump because he was so caught up in letting theo in on his plan. like it’s so important to him that theo understands where he’s coming from?? also liam totally talks with his hands in both this scene and in pressure test when he’s explaining to theo that brett and lori were part of satomi’s pack which is (a) adorable and (b) definitely comes across as a sign of him gradually getting more comfortable around theo

all in all i am obsessed with way liam behaves around theo in 6b because he’s so obviously trying to maintain his hostility toward him, but so many of their scenes together make it so clear that, more and more, he’s forgetting to keep it up

i have finally landed a job interview and i have Such mixed feelings about it

i don't understand how some people interpret norman and ray's relationship as like. this vaguely competitive thinly veiled rivalry for emma's heart. or even that theyre not friends at All and only tolerate eachother for her. like did we watch the same show??? i know our brains have been rotted by lame heteronormative 2/5 star romances but yall.

Ray did not spend six years planning an escape and literally staking his life on the escape of a guy he tolerated. i guess i understand how people can think theyre not Really friends like they are with Emma from the scene where Ray gets revealed to be the traitor. but Norman's initial thought to use Ray wasn't some plan he'd just been Waiting to use to get his rival out of the way, it was just logic. Norman relies on logic above all else as a default, which is why he needs Emma, but thats a whole other conversation. Anyways- if nothing else, the time between it getting revealed that Norman's getting shipped, and him Actually getting shipped shows just how Much they All care about eachother. Ray was willing to break his arm and get sick to save Norman, he abandoned all logic for their makeshift plan to save Norman. Not to mention Norman's little speech about how he couldn't bare to have either of them die in his place. oh yeah also all the grief when Norman realized what Ray planned to do to trigger the escape. it Is a little more subliminal in the anime though so i can get that being missed. i know i missed it the first time i watched it

Hey I’m new to the LMK fandom, why do so many people ship Sun Wukong and Macaque??

A lot of people like the hurt/comfort potential because of their backstory and because they’re just really good counterparts lol. Macaque even makes a whole play about their past relationship, which is where a lot of that fuel for the ship comes from and the whole “the hero and the warrior were like the sun and the moon” spiel that people love using for shits and giggles. There’s also a really strong enemies to lovers sentiment and i think it’s kinda sweet

Personally, I just really like riffing off the divorced energy. To me, these idiots would rather beat the shit out of each other than make up and I really really eat that up. Not just as a joke, maybe as a way to cope with their feelings like “I want things to go back the way they were but this is all I can do”
