fucking loveeee group projects for class. love going out of my way to work through 3 people's schedules and email the professor to schedule a time outside of office hours to meet because not all of us would be available during the listed office hours for the required check-in before we present and then being the only one who shows up anyway

writing annotations for sources is one of the most annoying things ever and i just spent the last hour writing 15 annotations and now my hands hurt like hell and i wanna end it all bc i literally turned the assignment in with 1 minute remaining (and several annotations had to be compromised to get it in so i'm also sad i turned in subpar work, even if it's better than no work at all) and i still had work to do for a few of them, and a few typos slipped past and i even got 2 citations wrong.
#james talks#literally there's so much fucking research i've done today my brain is officially fried#there's nothing going on in there rn#literally not only read 1.5 novels today but also found and annotated 15 sources on Mansfield Park and Maria or The Wrongs of Woman and--#the construction of the patriarchy and systems of power in england in the 18th century and how women were subjugated by them and--#how they were also complicit in their construction and perpetuated those systems and how the laws of england also oppressed the women#i literally had to skim through half the papers to get the annotations done so i'm sure some of them aren't even entirely accurate#but my professor is already weeks behind on grading so she's not gonna check and actually read all the sources#but it's just annoying and disappointing that i couldn't get it done to my usual standards.#some of my annotations were only like 3 sentences and some only got a little bit of research and others got a bunch--#and it's really noticeable but here's to hoping my professor doesn't give enough of a shit to dock points for it.#anyway i would be so happy if i never had to do another annotated bibliograpy or literature review in my life.#literally gonna go put on some music and lie in bed and try to relax and hopefully get some sleep#though i had to take 4 cups of coffee to power through today's mountain of work so sleep is not very likely atm#anyway i have a whole day's of youtube to catch up with as well#and i have to do more research and a powerpoint for a class presentation on monday that i can't actually do until late sunday bc--#i won't be at home this weekend since i have to go to my aunt's and my laptop is broken and it's annoying to do on my phone#and i obviously can't take my whole computer to her place#AND i have to prepare for finals in a week and turn in a bunch of creative writing to my writing groups and start 4 multi-page papers#literally i'm gonna kill myself at this rate#jesus christ i'm spiraling. let me go try to relax for a while.

"Y/N!" Jeongin says, coming towards you as he enters Dr. Kuo's classroom. "What's up?" He smiles as he settles into the seat next to you.
"Jeongin, hi." You chuckle. "Nothing really, already tired from the week though."
"Yeah, same." He brings out his notebook and textbook.
"I heard Dr. Kuo was assigning us our first project."
"Already?"
"She doesn't wait for anyone. Can't say I'm surprised." He pushes his glasses up before looking back at you. "Wanna be partners?" You nod.
"Yeah, that'd be good." At this moment, Hyunjin walks in, shortly followed by Dr. Kuo. You look at him through your peripherals, noting that he sits in the same seat towards the back. Dr. Kuo does her usual class greeting before taking out a stack of papers and setting up her powerpoint presentation for the day.
"Alright, class. Before we get into our lecture for today, I'm going to assign you your first project of the semester. It won't be due right away, but I'm assigning it now to give you a couple of weeks to work on it so that you can deliver a solid project to me." She starts to pass out the guidelines for said project. "Yes, you will be needing a partner for this. However—" You and Jeongin look at each other. "I will be assigning your partners." She earns a couple of heavy sighs from the class. "Please, this is a good opportunity to get to know your classmates. You guys will be working together on a lot of different things during your grad journey here at Brigham. Might as well start now."
"Crap." Jeongin says. "Well, I just hope we get partners that are easy to work with."
"Same." You whisper back. Dr. Kuo starts to go through the roster, assigning people one by one just by random. She doesn't call out for you or Jeongin just yet, which gives you some sort of comfort, until—
"Y/N, you'll be paired up with—" She pauses for a moment and you're praying she calls Jeongin's name. "—Hyunjin." It's as almost if Jeongin senses your body language shifting, catches when you let out a breath and look down at your notebook without saying a word.
"Hey, I'm sure you guys will do great together."
"Too bad he hates me, Jeongin." You whisper back, slightly looking over your shoulder to see Hyunjin glance at you before slouching even more in his seat. The annoyance was radiating off of his body. It was going to be a long ass project.
"What, you guys don't even know each other?" He chuckles a bit, confused. "Is this why you were looking at him yesterday?"
"I ran into him after I left lab. Like, literally. Made him drop the packs of plastic pipettes and paper towels. I tried to help but he snatched it from the floor and told me to watch where I'm going next time." Jeongin chuckles a bit.
"I'm sure it was just an off day. He shouldn't have responded that way, but I'm sure he doesn't hate you. You just need to get the project done and then that's it. If worst comes to worst, just plan your part and have him do the rest."
"Jeongin." You slightly whine. "Can't we just switch?" You look at his partner, another male seated a couple of seats away from him, before leaning back in yours.
"I mean you can try asking Dr. Kuo, but I don't think she'll budge—"
"Alright, I think that's everyone. After the lecture today, I'll give you some time to get acquainted with your partners. And please, don't ask for any switches. I promise everything will be fine if you just work it out amongst yourselves." She says, clicking onto the first slide. "Okay, let's get started with the lecture, shall we?"
"Welp." You look at Jeongin and all he does is shrug.
"It'll be fine." He repeats to reassure you somehow. And it works for a bit, because you can tell Jeongin genuinely means it. He's right, too. If it doesn't go as planned, you can always do one part and Hyunjin can do the other. Minimal contact.
It's fine.
Everything's fine.
When Dr. Kuo finishes her lecture for the day, the class splits to meet with their partners. Yeonjun, Jeongin's partner, sits in the free seat on his other side, while you turn to look at Hyunjin to see if he's coming.
He doesn't move.
"Okay, I guess I have to go to him." You say, packing up your things to move to the back row.
"Goodluck. Tell me how it goes later." Jeongin says, with Yeonjun waving at you. You give them a small smile before you lazily drag yourself to the free seat next to Hyunjin and awkwardly sit next to him. "Um, hey." He looks at you and sighs, continuing to scribble in his notebook. "By the way, now that we're partners, I just wanna say that last night was uncalled for." You blurt out, already tired of his attitude.
"Uncalled for? You ran into me." He looks at you. "What's so wrong about telling you to watch where you're going? Least you'll be more careful next time."
"You didn't have to be so mean about it."
"Ever thought that.. maybe.. I'm not mean, and it's probably just you?"
"You're definitely mean."
"You don't know me." You stare at him with furrowed brows before he scoffs and shakes his head. "Yeah. Anyways. How about we just get this over with? The quicker we finish this project, the less we have to be in each other's hair."
"When are you free later so we can brainstorm and jot down some ideas?"
"I have to work."
"Well, so do I." He shakes his head and subtly rolls his eyes.
"8."
"Good with me." You pass your notebook over to him. "Wanna write your number so I can find out where you're at by then?"
"Not really." He says, taking your notebook anyway to scribble down his number messily. He quickly scans over the colored notes that you take, subtly shaking his head at the colors your rotate between. How do you even have the time to do this?
"Thanks." He simply nods before watching you take your things and settle back into your seat next to Jeongin.
"What happened?" He chuckles, surprised to see you back at your seat already. "Acquainted with your partner already?"
"Very much so." You sigh. "We're just gonna meet later to brainstorm some ideas."
"Progress. He actually agreed to meet with you."
"He has to meet with me or else we're going to get nowhere for the project."
"Well, he doesn't have to. He could've just told you to do your part while he does his." Yeonjun adds, while Jeongin nods in agreement.
"Yeah, who knows, might have to. Let's see if he actually shows up." You start to jot down some ideas anyway, re-reading the guidelines as you get a head start. To be quite honest, you weren't looking forward to tonight. You wished you could go home and relax after work, but you knew it would be wise to at least get started on the project instead of rushing through it. Being partners with Hyunjin was the cherry on top, and although he was right— you didn't know him and he didn't know you either— he was still intimidating. You didn't get scared or intimidated often, but it was something about Hyunjin, something about your encounter, that made it feel impossible to get through to him.
But it was fine, you weren't here to do so. You'd be his partner, the bare minimum.
That was it.
You had some breaks in between classes today, most of which you spent in the library with either Jeongin, Changbin, Felix. Before work, you had an opportunity to grab a small bite before heading into the lab to do some work with Dr. Kreher. He talks about his undergraduate class and how quiet and intimidated they were, causing you to giggle because you had been there before. It's not that Dr. Kreher was a difficult-to-please teacher, but he definitely taught through tough love. No phones in class was probably the strictest rule he had in place, but it was the fact that he would put students under the spotlight, asking them detailed questions and expecting detailed, out-of-the-box answers in return that would throw them off. It's not like he'd let you off the hook either when you responded with an 'I don't know;' he'd let you sit on it and think about it until you could give him a better answer. He laughs when you point this out to him, giving it a reason as to why his students were probably acting that way. He says it's to lessen the hand-holding, especially when you get out into the real world— not everyone would be willing to do so and you'd have to find your own way through to the correct answer, the correct action to take. It's not about being right or wrong, it was moreso learning how to take that leap and to be okay with making mistakes. Afterall, it only helps you learn from your mistakes in order to grow.
"Mm, yeah. They'll eventually get used to your teaching style. I'll be walking proof if they need it." He laughs as he cleans under the hood next to yours.
"Hey, by the way, I don't want you staying to late to work, okay? I know we agreed on making things work in between your schedule, but I also want you to give yourself some time for yourself."
"Yeah, I know." You quickly look at him with a nod. "I do have to run as soon as this is done, I have to meet up with a partner to start working on Dr. Kuo's project."
"Project already, eh?"
"Surprise, surprise." You say sarcastically. "I'm really dreading it."
"Why?"
"My partner hates me."
"I'm sure that's not the case." He says. "Who is your partner?"
"Hyunjin."
"Hwang?" You look at Dr. Kreher and nod. "Oh, I know that kid. He works with Dr. Costas on her coral reef research." He chuckles a bit. "Hardworking kid. Quiet, but he's got a gentle vibe to him."
"Gentle? He practically wanted me gone last night when I accidentally ran into him and made him drop his things."
"Ah, I'm sure that isn't the case, Y/N." He chuckles, fixing the blood stain on his slide so he can take it to the microscope. "Might have hit a nerve after a long day, but definitely doesn't hold it against you. He doesn't seem to hang around many people and keeps to himself. He probably just.." He shrugs. "Is like that, you know? Can't really explain it. But the times I've talked to him, he seemed like a nice boy."
You give off a laugh and shrug. "Sure. Still can't say I'm not dreading our meeting later."
"Give it some time. He'll warm up to you. You guys will do great on your project." He chuckles, allowing the silence to settle in so that the two of you could finish the lab work quickly.
By the time you complete your tasks and clean up, it's closing in to 8PM, but you have enough time to run to the café to grab a little bite before heading to the library. You find an empty desk near the back corner of the library, the library itself not to capacity as you had expected it to be. You shoot Hyunjin a quick text to let him know where you're located, but no response.
Close to 10 mins?
No response.
You huffed in your seat, getting worried at the fact that your partner probably wasn't going to show up, nor did it seem like he was going to update you on his whereabouts. Did he think that was truly okay? Was he even okay? Did he think—
"Oh." You say when Hyunjin finally appears in front of you, silently dragging the seat out and setting his bag ontop of the table. "You're here." He looks at you with a slightly furrowed expression, even as you let out a sigh of relief.
"We agreed to meet, didn't we?"
"It's 8:13pm."
"Don't remember asking for the time."
"You could have at least told me you'd be late. I was about to leave because I didn't think you'd show."
"But you didn't. And I'm here, so what's the point of this?" He scoffs, annoyed already at the interaction. "I just got caught up with stuff at work. I don't think I need to give you a play by play."
"Are you like this with every partner you work with?"
"Only to ones that don't know how to stay in their lane." He fires back, slipping his laptop out. But you had no response to that. And you're not gonna lie, your feelings were hurt especially since you were busy worrying about whether or not he was okay. You felt embarrassed, heat rising to the surface of your cheeks; almost like you wanted to grab your things and run the fuck up out of this library.
But, no.
You weren't gonna let him get to you like that.
You didn't do anything wrong.
"Yeah, well. I was slightly getting worried because you didn't say anything." He briefly shoots you a look as you silently flip the page in your notebook, surprised that you were even getting worried over him.
"Let's get this over with."
"I, um, jotted down a few things." You say, clearing your throat. "A few ideas." You turn your notebook towards him, explaining line by line with some details. He doesn't really show interest in anything you're saying, so it's hard for you to gauge whether or not any of these would work. At the end, he simply purses his lips and turns his laptop towards you, showing you the two ideas he was able to come up with. He dives into his thinking process behind the two ideas, careful not to go overboard or say too much. You're impressed though, especially when the second idea focuses on infectious diseases and things similar to the work you've been doing with Dr. Kreher. How he came up with this on the spot, you had no idea, but you weren't gonna question it. When he's done, he doesn't really look at you. He turns his laptop back towards himself, sinking a bit more into his seat.
"That's all I have." He finishes off.
"I think we should go with your second idea." He shrugs.
"Alright then."
"Dr. Kreher might be able to help us out." He nods.
"Sure, could be helpful." Is all he says. You take note of the idea in a shared document on your own laptop with Hyunjin, writing notes and things you need to obtain in order to get the project going. While he adds to the list, you watch as he grimaces to himself, his hand falling over his stomach. You shake off the need to ask if he's alright, but part of you feels bad that he seems uncomfortable. You lick your lips, continuing to type away at your laptop while Hyunjin shifts in his seat as he finishes whatever he's adding to your project document.
"Did you eat?"
"No but it's whatever." He sighs before looking at you and shutting his laptop close. "Are we done here?"
"I guess so." You shrug. "I can ask Dr. Kreher how to get started. He might be able to get us some of the supplies. I'll keep you updated?"
"Yeah. Just let me know what I need to do." He packs up his things.
"Would you be able to meet last minute on certain days?"
"If I really need to. Don't necessarily like to, though."
"But, it's for the project."
"Mhm." Is all he says. "See ya." He gestures before slinging his bag strap over his shoulder, turning on his heel to walk out of the library. You stay behind a bit to finish up the last of your notes and the remainder of the homework you were able to start in class before packing up and heading out.
"Y/N!" Felix calls for you as he sees you crossing across campus from the library. "Wait up!" You stop and smile at him, tugging on your strap as you watch him jog over. "Hey." He smiles.
"Hey there. Were you in class?"
"I was actually with a study group, working on this assignment we have due at the end of the week." He slowly walks alongside of you. "Did you come from the library?"
"Mhm. Worked on the beginning stages of our first research project."
"Ah, wait. Is this with that Hyunjin guy?"
"Mhm." You look at him before letting out a small sigh.
"Jeongin might have mentioned a thing or two. How did it go?"
"Okay, I guess? He's kinda hard to talk to. Our meeting didn't last that long, but we at least settled on a topic."
"Progress, right?"
"I guess so. I'm just not sure how the entire project will go if he's going to keep me closed off like that."
"Did you try switching partners?"
"No can do. Was already hoping I could switch to work with Jeongin."
"I'm sure it'll be fine. He'll warm up to you, give it time. If not, then that's his loss." He smiles softly at you, you returning the favor as you tilt your head to the side and look at him. The walk with Felix becomes quiet for a second, so you take the opportunity to look out at the campus ahead of you. Not too many students were lingering around anymore, not even in the café. However, there was one person who caught your attention again—
Hyunjin.
He manages to grab the last slice of pizza they were selling, plus a drink. He sits himself down at an empty table and scarfs his food down like no tomorrow and it makes you feel bad. Had he gone all day without eating much? Was he not making enough time for himself?
Maybe you should bring him some food next meeting.
Maybe he'll warm up to you.
Maybe he'll see that you're trying to make things work— project partners, friends, whatever.
Maybe he'll see that you're genuine.
"Did you hear about the fair the school is hosting on campus next week?" Felix breaks the silence and looks you in the eyes.
"Oh yeah, I saw the flyer earlier today in passing."
"Wanna go?"
"I want to. Depends on if I meet with Hyunjin or not."
"You can always meet before or after." You chuckle.
"Only if it was that easy, right?"
"I'm sure you'll have time." He licks his lips. "Come. I want you to be there."
"Okay." You nod, agreeing to this so-called fair without even knowing what work and your school schedule had in store for you next week. Hopefully, you actually had the time.
When you and Felix reach the parking lot, he parts ways with you and bids you goodnight. He waits until you get into your car and drive off before he gets himself settled onto his bike. The drive home is always lonely, the street you live on is always so quiet. Although you appreciate it more than anything, it would be nice to have company nearby from time to time. Your family wasn't far, but it also wasn't an easy drive back home. Coming home to a cold, empty in-law and a quiet street with no one to greet you after a long day— you missed them the most at this time.
"Hello?" You plop onto your bed when a call from your older brother comes through.
"Yo! Are you home little one?" You shake your head and chuckle at Hoseok's tone, always so loud and energetic no matter the time of day.
"Just touched down actually."
"Long day?"
"A bit, yeah."
"You better be resting in between school and work."
"I'll rest when all of this is over."
"Shut up." He laughs. "I just called to check up on you, especially when mom came at me saying I don't care enough about you."
"You don't." You joke. Your brother definitely cared a lot about you. He was your protector, your guardian, your safety blanket. He had been busy as a clothing designer, dropping his original plans to open his own small shop in town, but he always made sure to make time for you, the family. Never forgetting where he came from. Your family's journey wasn't easy, yet your brother's was the most influential to you. You only hoped he truly knew how much he meant to you.
"Don't say things like that."
"Kidding. I know you do." He chuckles a bit.
"Did you eat?"
"Yeah." You hit the speakerphone button so you can start getting ready for bed.
"Why do you sound like that?" He chuckles.
"We got assigned our first project and my partner fucking hates my guts." You repeat the story even though time and time again, people have told you they thought otherwise. You couldn't help it.
"Y/N, I'm positive he doesn't hate you."
"We'll see." You say.
"Don't stress. It'll turn out fine. You just started, okay? You're doing well. It's only up from here."
"Thank you." You simply respond. "How's mama and papa?"
"They're alright, just working day in and day out at the bakery."
"You should be helping me by telling them to rest more."
"I do. They don't listen." He sighs. "Which brings me to what I also wanted to call you about." You hear a door shut in the background. "Papa was super exhausted the other day."
"W-what?" You pause, the worry taking over your entire body.
"Look, I don't want you to worry. He was fine, just needed a minute to catch his breath."
"How can I not worry?"
"I'm here, aren't I? I promise I'll make sure it's nothing more."
"He's never been like that, you know?"
"It's been hotter and the bakery has been booming lately."
"Hoseok, I'll literally drive down right now—"
"No, I've got a handle on it. Seriously. Don't worry." He reassures you. "I'll split up my work and have my assistant help me out so I can be more present at the bakery."
"You swear?"
"Yes."
"Okay." You sigh. "If you need anything though, please just let me know. I'll get there."
"I know. I can always count on you." You can feel him smiling through the phone. "But I got it from here. You just focus on school and work, alright? It'll be fine."
"Okay. Make sure mom gets some rest too."
"Yeah, I made them go to bed early. Gonna go clean up the kitchen after the call." You nod, as if Hoseok can see you.
"Well, thanks for calling. I'm not sure when I'll be able to pop in, but I'm hoping soon."
"Don't worry baby sis, you know your family's always gonna be right here." You smile. "Get some rest. I love you."
"You too, punk. I love you." You respond, smiling as you put the phone down. You take a minute to process the information you were given. Although you trusted your brother and you knew he could take care of your family well, it still didn't stop the worry from seeping in. Your father had always been such a hardworker, taking on more than he should and never making his problems anyone else's problems. The bakery was indeed becoming one of the most popular bakeries on Oahu, many natives and tourists coming to pop in day in and day out. Part of you felt a little guilty that you were here, finishing up your grad program while your family was working day in and day out. You wished you had more time to help. But, you knew once this was all over, you'd be more present. You and your brother would be able to provide for your family and they could finally rest.
Just a little more, you remind yourself.
Push through.

what kind of job do you see jumin doing if he didn't work in his family business?
Honestly I really think Jumin thrives to his full potential in the position he has at C&R so it's hard for me to imagine him doing much else.
BUT leaving it at that is no fun so if we were to rule out him being any sort of classic corporate higher-up? I feel like he would strive to go into something he's passionate about on some level. Something either important to him personally or something that he believes would make a wider impact rather than something that would make him more money. Maybe politics like after he steps down in RAE. Maybe he'd establish some sort of intuitive cat protection organisation that takes in rescues. Maybe he'd become a professor at a prestigious university in something or another—business is the obvious choice but perhaps even classics or a language.
In regards to the latter I feel like he would be a bit of an anomaly; either deemed boring or eccentric by his students but never anything in between. He teaches without a powerpoint presentation whenever he can. He makes his own research papers essential reading for the class. He's quite distant when it comes to personal matters but gives his students updates on Elizabeth III in excess, and when he does use a slideshow there will be a blurry picture of her on at least one of the slides. He paid managed to get one of the nicest offices on campus, just the right amount of sunlight gets in through a bay window behind an unnecessarily large oak desk, and his bookshelves are lined with all sorts. Some of the books are in languages even he doesn't speak, and yes, he does still have a rather large collection of books on dark magic. If someone were to drop by unannounced he is somewhat more likely to be reading a book than he is to be grading papers but he will still rush through the conversation, citing how busy he is (and he is busy, it just doesn't show). He's also definitely a little too straightforward in his feedback, which can be intimidating, but he will give kind and sincere advice when needed. He's legitimately very proud of his students when they do a good job.

Could I trouble you for some thoughts/headcanons on KiriDeku? KiriDeku is my #1 fave Izuku rarepair, and there is just not enough content out there for them!
Like, those two sunshine boys together would be EVERYTHING! The way they both love to build others up...they would be such a power couple! Plus, Kirishima is very physically affectionate, so he would just SMOTHER Izuku in loving touches. Meanwhile Izuku has an entire doctoral thesis on all the ways Kirishima is an amazing person and an incredible hero on standby, ready to present and defend at any time.
😊🥰
JDICNWKDNISJF BRO, YOU’RE SO RIGHT😭 KIRIDEKU HAS MY SOUL! NO TROUBLE AT ALL, I LOVE THE WAY YOU THINK💙😭💙😭💙😭
Okay, I personally think that before AU, izuku was majorly touch starved. When kiri realizes this, he make it his mission to smother his adorable, incredible, manly boyfriend in all his affections
Kiri is having some insecurities about his quirk? Izuku completely and wholly understands that! He also has a 400 paged PowerPoint presentation on how incredible kirishima is and why he deserves the world
As you said, they are the TOTAL power couple. They can and will bench press each other. Kiri gets so hyped up, he’s just so proud! Izuku is also proud, but he’s also blushing so hard. Izuku, please breathe. No. No, izuku, deep breath in. Izuku, please, your boyfriend is worried-
Dude, they’re both just so supportive I’m going to cry
Like,,, they’ve both been bullied before and they’re just so. Nejcnwjcnwicjwif. They’re so strong, and they lift each other up
But one day, they run into some of kiri’s old bullies :( he tries to play it cool and izuku gets that, but he will also not let people talk shit about anyone he cares about
They’re both full time simps, but kiri is more blatant about it. Izuku just has such low self esteem :(((( so excuse him if he wants to remind his boyfriend that, holy shit, he’s so strong and cute and smart and kind and heroic and manly as hell
He’s so loud about it. He will profess his love for izuku to anyone who will listen. And most people who won’t listen too, honestly. A villain was being an asshole one time? Now he knows how izuku organizes his research and likes his katsudon.
The villain retired
Izuku’s simping is more quiet but no less chaotic. Again, 400 page PowerPoint that he has on a flash drive carried on him at all times “just in case”
In case of what, izuku? Uraraka wants to know. She’s seen it three times and she’s so tired
Kiri finds izuku’s ao3 account and follows so fast. Izuku is shook because 1. He’s embarrassed. And 2. He doesn’t think he’s that good
Kiri knows that he is indeed, “that good” he’s really good. No, he’s not just saying that because he loves the green demon, but because it’s absolutely 10000% true!
The pining before the two got together was. Horrible. Everyone can attest to this
There were betting pools. So many.
Uraraka, Nezu, Sato, momo, and mic were the only ones who won anything (aside from izuku and kiri, who won a boyfriend)
Trans kiri/nonbinary izuku
Thoughts????
Izuku helps kiri dye his roots every couple of weeks! Mina used to do it, but one day she fell asleep before and kiri felt bad waking her up. Izuku found him kind of panicking, so he offered to help! Now, mina and izuku both help!
Literally though. Mic dubbed them the sunshine boys two days into classes and said that they’d be together by the end of the year.
He was correct.
Kiri let’s izuku ramble on as long as he wants to! He doesn’t always understand some of what izuku is talking about, but his passion and drive are just so manly and his excitement is contagious!
Izuku loves listening to kiri talk about crimson riot too! He shows kiri his crimson riot analysis and dude. If kiri wasn’t smitten before, be sure as hell is now
He was smitten before. But still
Kiri helps patch izuku up whenever he gets injured, which we all know is too fucking often, kiri is a concerned boyfriend to the max. He know izuku is strong and that he can handle himself, but he needs to learn how to actually take care of himself too. I.e. not fucking off on his own to become a vigilante and try to take down the worlds most notorious super villain with little to no help and almost never stop for food, water, or rest when you’re 16 and have had your incredibly powerful and still evolving quirk for just around a year
But Kirishima digresses
No, he doesn’t. He’s going to cuddle izuku for hours after that. Izuku will not move. Izuku, let your boyfriend and all your friends and parents smother you in the affection you deserve
Kiri and izuku are both loyal to a fault. And that often comes back to bite people, but it never does between these two. They are both just so caring. They see each other hurt or upset and immediately go into mom mode
They made playlists for each other 🥺
It happened before they got together actually. Jirou overheard izuku muttering in his room about it for hours one night before she texted him a few song recommendations and that he should go to bed. He was mortified but very grateful
Honestly, I feel like Shouto would pick up on the fact that the two liked each other really quickly. It’d just make sense to him. Like. He’s blunt as shit and also is a little shit, and he makes it his business to be all up in their business.
He becomes great friends with Mina, because he just assumes that they’re together. And once told that they aren’t yet, he’s just confused.
“Why not? You like each other.”
“It’s not that simple, Shouto-kun!”
“…”
“Why not? Does all might not approve? I assumed he would. But yes, having your father’s approval might matter yo kirishima-“
“It’s not that! All might isn’t my dad-“
“Aizawa then? Or yamada?”
Mina says that Kirishima should be scared of all the shovel talks he’s going to get, but honestly? He’s not scared in any way! He would never hurt izuku and he’s really happy that izuku has so many people who care about him like he should be cared about!
Kiri 1000% watches Say Yes To The Dress, and izuku watches it with him sometimes. It’s great, because neither of them know anything about fashion. Kiri started watching it with Mina and now he loves it
Speaking of their fashion? Worst dressed couple on campus /affectionate
Aoyama and Mina insist on helping them get ready for their first several dates
Honestly, everyone knows that it doesn’t matter what they wear because if kiri fell for izuku and his “t-shirt” shirt (which I loved, by the way) and izuku fell for kiri in his crocs (which I don’t love, by the way), the pair could wear almost anything and the other would still swoon. It’s sickening. But also really sweet, you cannot deny no matter how many times Aoyama has tried to spruce up their wardrobes
Izuku one day gives kirishima a jar that’s half full with little scraps of paper and tells him to pick one out when he’s sad. On the pieces of paper, are all different reasons why izuku thinks kiri is amazing and why/how much he loves him. He adds to it every day
Kirishima is #EMOTIONALEHCIJSIXNSKC GUYS, HIS BOYFRIEND IS LITERALLY THE SWEETEST WHAT THE HELL
Aizawa genuinely doesn’t know if it’s cute or absolutely disgusting. He tries not to think about it too hard really
Kiri finds out that izuku is really good at art and helps him get confident enough to offer commissioned works! He also commissions him all the time without telling izuku. One day, izuku finds all the pieces kiri commissioned from him and cries because, guys, HIS BOYFRIEND IS SO SWEET, HE DIDN’T HAVE TO PAY FOR THOSE, HE’D MAKE KIRI ART FOR FREE ANY DAY
BUT IZU, THAT’S WHY HE DID IT SECRETLY, BECAUSE YOUR ART IS SO MANLY AND WORTH MILLIONS OF YEN
They’re absolute menaces and I love them with my entire soul, thank you so much for this 💙😭💙😭💙😭💙😭 but I hope you liked itttt!!!! Kirideku is genuinely such a compatible pairing dude, they deserve more. Just. More. Better.

hey can you go into heavy detail about something that you like?
so i took a long time to decide what i wanted to talk about (it felt like preparing to give an essay in school except actually fun) but i finally have an answer for this ask!! sorry it took so long!!
something that i really like is space, i've been obsessed with space ever since i was a kid. my mom wasn't perfect, but she was really good at making sure that even though she was a single parent and very busy, we still got to DO stuff. so she took us to see meteor showers and when i was probably about six i became INSTANTLY OBSESSED. the Persieds meteor shower falls every year at around the same time as her birthday, so we always celebrated by going to see it and i was always begging to stay out just one more hour, or until i saw just one more "shooting star."
in third grade i got to make a Powerpoint in science class and i chose to make one about our solar system, i had a slide for every planet and the sun and all the moons with each planet and even for the Kuiper belt, i was WAY too shy to actually PRESENT the presentation but i had a lot of fun writing it and finding pictures and researching.
my favorite star is Polaris!! why?? i don't know ♥️ it just really speaks to me for some reason and they call it the star of many names, it's a polar star and you can see it at the end of the Big Dipper constellation (it's also called the North Star, obviously it's not a super NICHE favorite but i still love it)
my favorite planet in our solar system is Venus, for several reasons. its so visible in the night sky, and i always love seeing it. it's also called the earth's "sister planet," because they're approximately the same size, but the earth is a fertile rock planet with a very nurturing environment that allows for terrestrial life, while in the same solar system, Venus developed into a gas planet with a toxic environment where life (as we know it) would be impossible, and i think that's interesting♥️
i love studying constellations because i have lots of friends who live in different places and i like to know which ones they can see! i've never left the US so there are lots of constellations i've never even SEEN before, but when i care about someone i like to know which ones they can see.

girl help how do i prioritize (not actually asking for advice just ranting). i have a performance tomorrow that's technically part of my final but also the Events of the last week on campus it's technically optional. but that being said i really want to be memorized for that performance and put the time in to make it really good bc even if it isn't graded it's still an opportunity for me to test out new aubrey material (and i'm definitely gonna film it and send it to bellini). i have to turn in a "final" for my independent study which is just my way to get credit for the buddy cole doc, but that final is editing a ten minute piece out of my tour footage and because of the Events i think i will get more grace if it's not a great edit but i need to turn something in by wednesday. i have a final for my history class that's just a presentation and i've already made the powerpoint and researched so i'm confident i can improvise (it's fairly low stakes) BUT i still have to do a quiz for my history class that was due last week but i somehow missed and i haven't been able to get to it bc stressed about finals and also the Events but since it was assigned before the Events i don't think i'll get the same grace as post-Events assignments, and this quiz is worth like 10% of my grade so i need to turn something in like even tho i currently have an A in that class and Cs get degrees i still don't know what grade i'll get on my final so better safe than get a zero on the quiz but i have no motivation since it's not a final like the rest of my stuff (even if the aubrey thing is lowkey not graded??? even before the Events that class had a unique grading system so i already know i've got an A in that class regardless this is just like an optional showcase). and i also have a zoom with bruce tomorrow for the buddy cole doc which i'm very excited for but also will have to plan around the amount of hours in the day i have left to get things done lmao
anyway it's wild being in finals week bc half of me is like "i just wanna go hoooome alreadyyyy" but the other half is like "holy fuck there is too much to do i need an extra week to get it all done"
but anyway less than a week from today i'm gonna be done with my penultimate semester of college (graduating in december!!!) and i have literally zero plans for the months of may and june rn so like. i know i'm going to get incredibly bored super quickly but like one of my favorite inspirational quotes is that tumblr post that was like "in two weeks you will have different problems" and yeah that sure is true
#i remember some people on that post being like ''that's not comforting the problems are endless''#but i saw that quote for the first time when i was like 12 days away from my production of other girls and SUPER stressed#so i was like. yeah that's actually a great thought i'm still gonna have to do things in 2 weeks but it won't be what i'm working on rn#anyway i am also obviously grateful for most of the things making me busy of course#bc like. my finals are literally performing my favorite new aubrey monologue i've written in the past few months#and i have to rewatch a bunch of scott tour footage for the independent study video#and like i remember just a year ago getting to zoom with bruce was such an event it would be the most important part of my day#and all i could talk about for weeks leading up to it#and obviously i'm still super excited to get to talk to bruce the only negative thing is how busy i am with everything else#and having to do time-management factoring in my classes alongside the zoom#also when i refer to the Events that has to do with like the protests happening on campus etc.#like my college has been in the news lately for some shit#and like. yes it's a very important issue and it's really altered the climate on campus and added to everyone's anxieties#however i do NOT want to talk about it. like i support the cause but for the sake of my own mental health i will only talk about it as much#as referring to it vaguely like i did in the post.#anyway i should sleep i have a 10am class tomorrow that i might have to present my final in

“Finally! A break!” a pale, redheaded girl exclaimed.
“You’ve only had two classes so far,” Saffron said as she sat on the grass, careful not to sit on her magenta hair. “And don’t forget you have one more today, Lai!”
Lai practically threw herself on the ground. “Ugh, don’t remind me. I’m going to be so tense without you there! Sometimes, I wish we had the same aptitude.”
“We’re both manipulators—isn’t that enough?”
“Yeah, us and 11% of the grade!”
“That isn’t a lot…”
“But if you think about it, most of the other types manipulate too. Like, physiological aptitudes manipulate physiology. Science and technology aptitudes manipulate science and technology. See what I mean?”
Well, she certainly wasn’t wrong. “Okay, I admit it, you’re right. But you took your medication this morning, right?”
“I did, I did, don’t worry, Mom. You don’t have to check all the time,” Lai groaned. “But, while we’re on the topic, how was it this morning?”
“When the police files on the guy said that he was a Stardust Absrober, I got a bit excited. But after looking at previous altercations and fighting him myself? I think I have the right to be disappointed, Lai. However,” she folded her arms, “I wasn’t there for my own entertainment. What matters is that another criminal is where he belongs, so the city is one step closer to staying safe.”
Lai snickered when she said that. “That’s the spirit! Think of it like this, Saffy-Taffy! At least you got some more hands-on practice.”
“As if she needed it,” a new voice replied. Saffron turned to see her other friend, Zain Bolton, plop on the grass across from them. “Saffron, you get so many opportunities these days. And why are we sitting on the grass in the middle of winter?”
“Don’t look at me,” Saffron said, pointing to Lai, “It was all her idea.”
“And you agreed?!”
“Yes, she did! It’s better out here than indoors anyways.” The weather had somewhat improved from the morning. The sky was now clear, and because the sun was no longer obstructed, it was feeling more temperate. “I can feel my fire pumping through my veins!”
“Better for you, maybe. And you know your aptitude doesn’t work like that, right?”
“Of course, I do, Zain! Don’t act like such a know-it-all. That’s basic information. Speaking of, can you believe that Professor Blume actually gave us this project? As freshman? At the Rosia City University of Heroics, no less.”
“Wait, what project?”
“Oh wait, you weren’t there this morning. Zain you tell her.”
“Professor Blume gave us a history project–”
“She doesn’t even teach history!”
“Shut up, Lai. As I was saying, she gave us a history project about the Pre-Modern Eras.”
“Why would we even need a project about that?! Everyone with half a brain knows the story! We’ve been in school for over 13 years and–”
“Lai, let the man speak! I wanna know how much I have to suffer.”
“Thank you, Saffron,” Zain grinned. “Anyways, we at least were able to pick which era we wanted, but we have to write a 10-paged research paper and make a PowerPoint presentation.”
“Oh hell no. What is this, high school?” Professor Blume was nefarious for assigning projects that belonged in a high school (or maybe even a middle school) class. “Okay, what are the groups?”
“That’s the worst part!” Lai yelled. “There aren’t any! She said it was strictly individual!”
“I decided to go with the Uzarian Era,” Zain declared. “It’s a long period, but it shouldn’t be too bad.”
“I’m going with the Acclimization Era. It’s only thirteen years long, so it’s an easy pass.”
“I guess that leaves me with the Readjustment Era.”
“What! Aren’t you gonna choose the same one as me?” Lai playfully whined. “We could make a pretty good team, Saffronator, don’t you think?”
“After what happened last time? No thanks. And how do you come up with all of these atrocious nicknames?”
“I’ll never tell! Anyways, you let me,” Lai smirked.
“Careful,” Saffron warned. “You’re starting to sound like a nuisance that I know all too well.”
“Oh dang. I forgot that fleabag was there with you.”
“What did he do this time, Saffron?” Zain asked.
“It certainly wasn’t as bad as it has been in the past, and it definitely wasn’t as bad as it
could’ve been. He just asked me for coffee this time.”
“And you kicked him in the face, right?”
“Of course, she didn’t, Lai!” Zain scolded. “She obviously kicked him in the crotch.”
“I didn’t do either,” she sighed. “I said no and flew away.”
“I don’t know how you haven’t snapped at him, Saffron. I would’ve toasted him by now.”
“Yeah, and I would’ve used the remaining smoke to choke him. This guy has been harassing you nonstop since you turned eighteen. You don’t deserve this.”
“Well, I agree. But, if you did that, you both would’ve gotten a hefty fine. They might’ve even considered revoking your license.”
“You’re right,” Zain sighed. “Not to mention, the public wouldn’t be too pleased.”
“I don’t know what they see in him if I’m being honest,” Lai started. “I mean, they treat him like an idol, at least some of them.”
It was no secret that Sensation was one of the most popular heroes ever. Definitely the most popular of their time, ever since Saffron’s parents retired.
“It’s not like there’s anything we can do about it,” Saffron replied.
“Actually, there is. Report him. You don’t owe him anything, Saffron,” Zain said firmly.
“It’s not worth it! He’s a beloved hero and a really good one, too. Blirrosia can’t afford to lose him.”
“It doesn’t matter! He keeps harassing you!” Zain retorted. “And he keeps getting into your dorm somehow. So now it’s not only you who’s suffering, but Mimi as well! Is that what she deserves? Is that what you deserve?”
“...”
“Okay, Zain. You’ve made your point. Getting heated won’t solve anything.”
“You know I’m right though.”
The trio fell silent. Zain’s smoky eyes bore into Saffron’s, staring into her soul. Eventually, she let her eyes drop to a patch of dandelion-speckled grass in front of her. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Lai clench her jaw and cross her arms. She knew that the redhead hated conflict—it made her anxious. She was responsible for this, even if it was indirect. Just when she was about to respond, Zain sighed, before speaking again.
“Crap, I’m sorry, to both of you. I shouldn’t have escalated things like that.”
“No, you have a point. I just don’t see what I can do. And, not going to lie, this whole Matteo thing isn’t my biggest concern right now.” She stood up. “I have more important fish to fry.”
“I guess. I just worry for you sometimes Saffron. It seems like you’re always in the limelight, even when you don’t want to be.”
“Eh, I blame the parents,” Lai mused. “Before, it was Sabryna Solis this, Emil Solis that. Once they had kids, they practically declared the press as distant relatives.”
They all laughed. Trust Lai to make a joke to lighten the mood. “Ok,” Saffron started, “I’m going to head to my dorm, then I’ll start training early. I’ll see you two at dinner.”
“Yeah, I should get going too. I’m going to talk to Professor Zimmerman before class about my physical form. Bye,” Lai called out before walking off.
“What about you, Zain?” Saffron asked.
“I think I’ll stay out here a little longer. Soak up some sun.”
“What happened to you complaining about being outside?” she teased.
“No!” he protested, “I was complaining about sitting on the wet grass. Not about staying outside. Nice try, though.”
“Whatever you say, Zain. Whatever you say,” Saffron said before walking towards the dorms. “See you later!”
“Wait, Saffron!”
She paused mid-stride and turned back to face him. “Yeah?”
“I am truly sorry for being so harsh.”
“It’s fi–”
“No, it’s not. I was out of line.” He took a deep breath and looked at the sky for a moment, then made eye contact. “If…if you ever need me, I’ll be there.”
“Thanks,” Saffron smiled. “You mean a lot to me. Lai, too.”
“You deserve the best,” he said. “Both of you! I’m glad that you can call me a friend,” he rushed.
Saffron didn’t know what to say to that. She and Lai have been best friends for as long as they can remember, but they only met Zain after their first year of high school. The heartfelt turn in the conversation surprised her, even the apology left her shocked—he wasn’t wrong.
“Me too. But, you don’t have to apologize.” He was about to contradict her, but she stopped him again. “Really, it’s fine. You were right. I should be more proactive.”
“Well, I’m glad you realized that, Saffron.”
“Yeah…I’ll see you around, Zain! Thanks again.”
“Don’t worry about it, Saffy. Goodbye!”
As she was walking back inside, she felt someone watching her, so she turned around and saw Zain still looking at her; she waved and he waved back before quickly turning away. She chuckled to herself, turned back, and kept going on her way. But for some reason, the feeling didn’t subside.

Gen fic: A trollface in the Continuum or a brief history of memes
@startrekwintergiftexchange
Prompt:  Vulcans or trek aliens of your choice discovering memes.
Since the Qs are one of my favorite species (although I tend to ignore the Q Voyager episodes more often than not) I thought their reaction would be funny.
Also Q gets to infodump about some quirks of his favorite species in the form of a collection of outdated and current memes and a brief history of them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
“What is that?” a question every Q asked themselves and each other when they found their way in one of the least popular corners of the the Continuum and come across a room. A room that was not just a translation of what’s actually there in order for a lesser mind to understand, but an actual room. Or perhaps to be more precise, the door to a room.
A light brown, quadratic door, which shared a strange resemblance to the doors found inside the USS Enterprise.
It was Qs room, because apparently he had chosen to adapt a few things from the species he was supposed to judge. One of these things was privacy in a place where all Q were connected and there was just no need for it.
Qs.... spouse/partner/main political ally/’mother’ of his child had once humored him and opened the door. The door had slowly been shut close afterwards with her not so much as entering the room and despite some curious inquiries she refused to speak of what was inside the room.
Junior on the other hand had just shrugged and went to go on some ‘self-exploration’ that was in most other species ‘normal’ for his current stage of ‘development’:
Now these were already some unusual circumstances in a Continuum that used to be more or less static for the last millions of years.
But the latest scandal and controversy regarding their strangest member was a poster hanging on the outside of the door.
Tumblr media
“Well, it is obviously supposed to be a parody of a human face.”
“Do you think its a parody of his human”
“Nearly impossible, I have done a brief research on this guy. He doesn’t really ‘smile’ much least of all anywhere near like that.”
“Don’t tell me we are going to have to worry about you ...”
“Oh don’t worry. I barely understand what Q sees in these humans. Besides, he and I have had a ... conversation after he became aware of my research.”
“Well, what is this picture then?”
Behind the ongoing discussion, which more and more other Qs joined in, not really having anything better to do, a flash appeared.
“It is called a ‘memes.”
Turning around they found the owner of the door and the room behind it. Smiling at them in a rather annoying way that showed how much he joined knowing and understand something they didn’t.
Giving what a human would call a defeated sigh, one of the Qs asked “What is a meme?”
“I am glad that you asked. “  and with a snap of his fingers the Continuum took on the shape of a 19th centure english classroom. With nearly all of the present Qs as students sitting on small wooden chairs while the most infamous of them took on the robe of a teacher. Unfitting for the times however a powerpoint presentation was shown in front of the ‘class’.
One of the more serious and not at all pleased nor really curious Qs spoke up
“I swear Q, you are incredibly close to getting exiled. Again.”
“Shush. I am merely showing some of my research on Humanity I have conducted for the Trial.
Authorized research, if I may add.”, Q said, looking at the Q who had dared to show a little bit too much interested in the Enterprise and Humanity.
Going back into his role, Q went on.
“It all started with this.”
Tumblr media
“Ah, I see.” one of the Qs wanting to show that they knew and understood everything from the start, talking to his neighbor. “This is one of their cave paintings.”
“Not really”, Q said. “It’s a bit later than their cave painting. This picture was used by American soldiers in one of their wars, the one call ‘World War 2′. At first just an inside joke on their military ships and vehicles it quickly became an inside joke wherever they went during this war. The british soldiers soon decided to do their own and came up with this
Tumblr media
While the Australians had this
Tumblr media
“I like their cave paintings more”, said another Q in the back.
“But it’s only when the humans had created what is known as the  internet, when it really starts to get weird.
One of the first things to spread across Earth through it was this.
youtube
“A virtually created infant?”
“Dancing, yes. And this was just the true beginning. The twenty-first century started it all, with what some scholars would call ‘the Experimental period’ from 2000-2004.
Memes from that area for example were:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
youtube
“You now?”, one ofo the more serious yet curious Q said after a few seconds watching the video of a dancing and singing banana animation.
“Maybe it’s wrong of us to judge them? After all, they as a species seem... mentally unwell if not to say insane.”
“Shush” came from two other Qs who were actually entertained for the first time in more than three thousand years.
“Then”, Q went on with a near dramatic ais of importance “came the Evolutionary Period from 2005-2011″
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Believe it or not, they origin from the same year of 2005
2006 however brought back old favorite pictures of humans. Cats, a species of which a few vulcans and even the android on board of the Enterprise seem to be fond of.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“There are numerous more examples like these. Just a picture of a feline with a text that is mostly supposed to be relateable to people who live with one.”
None of the other Q really understood the context or the precise meaning of these memes, but since none of the other Q asked they didn’t want to appear stupid by not understanding such seemingly simple concepts the pictures were reffering to
“In 2007 a particular song amongs various ‘meme songs’ is notable that would keep the status of a meme for years to come
youtube
“Q, we are just here to understand your pictures, not whatever it is human qualify as music.”
Grumbling about none of the Qs having any kind of appreciation for creativity and art, Q stopped the video and the song and went on with his presentation.
“Then in 2008 a man named Carlos Ramirez posted a few comics on an internet communication board called 4chan, which would spark a variety of other meme comics called the Rage comics.
I chose the trollface, because I found the expression quite humerous and fitting to a trickster.”
Tumblr media
“So it represents someone who enjoy getting on other peoples nerves.”, said rather factually.
Q chose to ignore that comment, instead,
“Other pieces from this period include
Tumblr media
The question of “what’s a monday?” went through the metaphorical head of many Qs. Yet, again, out of the discomfort of being thought of as stupipd, no one bothered asking.
Tumblr media
Feeling instantly better about their own intelligence, some Q even laughed.
“Following the Evolutionary Period, came the Transitorial Period, which was really short only from 2012-2014″
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“And Humans find these reminders of their own mortality.. funny?”
“Yes, quite a few do.”
Tumblr media
“But ever since 2015 these things have exploded in variety. The basis of all of them, that something relatable to a lot of other humans is shared. Often in a way to make the other humans laugh or relate. For example, there are quite a few on a collective hatred for the day ‘Monday’, often shown, once again, through the picture of a cat.
Tumblr media
I am guessing that everyone now has somewhat of a understand of what a ‘meme’ is?”
A few nods and more than a few eyeroles were there.
Thinking that he has shared enough of human culture and has taken what fun he could get out of educating his fellow Q, Q snapped his fingers and everything was back to how it was before the lesson.
Ignoring most of the others, who were already on their way to other places, Q went to the door, opened it and entered his room.

Anyway good morning Monday here are the things on my mind this week:
The aftermath of our elections (the far right SD is now the second biggest party and it seems like the right wing got more votes over all (by just 1-2 percent margin as it stands now) but there are more votes coming in by Wednesday so it’s not sure). I had forgotten how stressful these things are to have in the back of your head
The fact that I’m going to Italy on Thursday (oh shit I have to do laundry)
The fact that I’m going to Italy to present some research I’ve done oh my fucking god (I’m not done with the powerpoint and I’m not set on what to say, fuck)
Having to do extra home work because I’ll miss class (it has been almost a year since I had homework last and my mind is not up for it)
Things about work still being really unclear (I’m waiting to hear from them about a document I need and I also still know basically nothing about the practical aspects so??)
Some dates I’ve been on recently (hihi)
God my apartment is a mess I should really really clean and do the dishes

I need to rant about college so if you don’t care, feel free to scroll.
If you’re the type of teacher that makes your student do a major research project and present it to the class without having actually talked about the thing in question yourself: you’re a shit teacher.
You should not be offhandedly mentioning Percy Shelley three weeks ago with barely any information on who this guy is and what types of poetry he wrote, and then expecting me and 3 other classmates to research the dude in depth and teach the rest of the class 4 of his poems.
At that point, I’m doing YOUR JOB. I’m thousands of dollars in debt for this bullshit. I’m PAYING YOU to TEACH ME about this dude. NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
I’m not kidding when I say I’m in an undergraduate degree and this professor is assigning doctorate/masters level bullshit. And she expects all of it to be done in 2 weeks.
“It’s a group so you should be able to divvy the work”
GIRL. NOT WHEN YOU WANT A RECORDED LECTURE, POWERPOINT, A TRANSCRIPT OF THE RECORDING, AND 3 SEPARATE PAGES OF RESEARCH FOR EACH CLASSMATE TO HAND IN.
THIS IS FUCKING BULLSHIT.
I hate college. I do. I fucking hate it. I can’t tell you how burnt out I am and this fucking woman keeps loading it on like I have nothing else to do but wait around for her to give me assignments. Like yeah, let me forget that my dad has cancer, work, my other classes, financial troubles, my own mental health, taking care of my animals, and every fucking thing else so I can focus on this stupid assignment.
If you’re making your students do this type of thing: you’re a garbage teacher. If you’re making your students teach the class: you’re a garbage teacher. I’m here for library science and an English lit. minor. NOT TEACHING.
After this semester I’ll only have one more year but I swear… I don’t know if I’ll make it. I might say fuck it. I really might. I can’t handle it anymore.

Activity 1: DO YOUR RESEARCH
Fortu Jaimie Anne and Bagui Frederick are two of my closest friends among my classmates, therefore I spoke with them about the many tools they utilized to learn and study. Jaimie said that she has always used her cellphone whenever we have an online class since it is more convenient to use and has a longer battery life than a laptop. She has used it throughout the two years of online classes. When she needed to report and make a powerpoint presentation, she occasionally used her laptop to do it in a simple and professional manner. Frederick Bagui, on the other hand, prefers to use his brother's computer since, in his opinion, it is faster and has a larger screen so he can concentrate and study effectively each time we have an online lesson.

Activity 1: DO YOUR RESEARCH
We all know that these days, especially for students, gadgets are necessary. The pupils' lives are made simpler by not having to lug around books. Students will be transported to other worlds and given the opportunity to explore various platforms via the use of various technologies. It therefore takes less time for the pupils to complete these demanding tasks and find solutions to challenges. These technologies helps us to make are life more easily that’s why I conducted an interview to our two classmates and these are their response.
CLASSMATE #1
As I interview my classmate who is Ms. Vanessa Tolentino about the different technologies she’s using for her studies. She told me she’s using a Laptop, Ipad, and cellphone. These technologies help her in her daily communication. According to her, by the use of her laptop, she can join their online meeting, take the examination and pass her project and tasks on time. Other than that she also used her Ipad and cellphone to communicate with our classroom group chat and even do her project on her Ipad to make her work/tasks, and activities even better just like a Poster and PowerPoint Presentation for the reporting. Overall, with the help of these technologies, Ms. Vanessa can cope with her studies and it serves as a platform for her to continue to learn in her studies.
CLASSMATE #2
The second classmate that I interview is Ms. Syrill Vera Cruz, as for Ms. Syrill there are two gadgets she’s using and it is a cellphone and a laptop. This cellphone just like Ms. Vanessa, it also helps her to communicate with other people it’s either her relatives, teachers,s or classmates. With the help of her cellphone, she becomes updated when there’s a need to do related to her classes that will be announced in our group chats. Another one is her laptop, This laptop helps her to participate in every online class she must attend, it also helps her do her activities and pass them on time just like Ms. Vanessa. Although there are challenges she encounters using these gadgets like lagging it still helps her continue her studying that’s why these technologies are a great help for a student like her.

I have been Blocked for a week and it's horrible I couldn't finish a very important presentation so I skipped the class and when the teacher asked about it I just told her I had brain fog bc I can't explain the block I'm having I just can't start at all and I want to but I've been fighting myself and avoiding any work for over a week and it's so bad and I feel bad for lying but brain fog is like the closest thing I have to a believable explanation like I don't like lying like this but being like "I just couldn't start even opening PowerPoint or doing research even though we had weeks to do it" makes zero sense and just makes me look lazy... And from my experience with brain fog it's similar in the result of not being able to do anything. But instead of my thoughts being really slow preventing me from doing shit it's just that anxiety and overwhelm prevent me from starting. But she was super nice, said she hoped I felt better soon and I can do my presentation next week over zoom. But I'm soso blocked and it's making me stress even more which makes me more Blocked and aaaa I feel so bad but I can't do shit

Hello and welcome to my blog on ICT where we will look at the complicated world of ICT components and their functionality in real life. Let’s explore some practical examples of how these components play a significant role when it comes to developing a contemporary lifestyle, accessing information, and browsing through this new digital era. We will travel from basics of hardware to software inventions, as we discover how different parts of ICT make a connected world.
Cloud Computing
I use cloud storage applications such as Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive for my academic papers, research documents, or project files. My documents are kept in clouds hence they can be accessed by any device with an internet connection. With cloud storage being so convenient and flexible, I can easily shift my papers from a computer or laptop even a smartphone. In addition, this permits me to collaborate more effectively as well as work on educational things wherever I need them to be done.
Software
Last semester and this semester, our instructor introduced some helpful software. For instance, the simulation software we have been using like Interactive Simulations helps me to do virtual experiments and understand complex scientific ideas by doing them virtually. It makes difficult things easier to understand. My assignments and projects are being done in Microsoft 365 as well. I can easily work on documents like making a report or presentation; therefore, it simplifies school activities and creates a platform for collaboration.
Hardware
To start with, when it comes to academic life an essential tool is a laptop which helps me to find the latest information relevant to our lessons, visit educational websites as well as gather multimedia materials that improve my understanding of different subjects. Our instructor took us through hands-on sessions where we could practically learn about microscopes most recently. During our practical quiz, I learned about the importance of microscopes, and their functions and gained experience in focusing on various samples under observation through a microscope lens because of its higher magnification power in comparison with eyesight. Moreover, we also use printers for printing hard copies of our experiment papers, research papers, and other outputs.
Transactions
I recently bought a pair of high-heeled shoes on Shopee as I prepared for an upcoming Soiree. The entire process was smooth as I navigated through the Shopee app, I'm careful in selecting the perfect pair before proceeding to check out. To make it more convenient, I chose to pay using G-cash, a mobile wallet service. This payment option is made for a smooth transaction that guarantees fast and secure digital payment.
Communications Technology
In our capacity as SK officials, we actively participated in a seminar through Zoom last Saturday. During the seminar, there was an online orientation on different aspects such as youth development plans, fund utilization, and disbursement. This digital forum made us understand our roles and responsibilities. When I look back at my Senior High School (SHS) days Google Meet proved to be very useful. First of all, a few classes were conducted virtually and Google Meet was a way of connecting teachers and students online. Apart from educational issues, I also can connect with my family members using communication platforms such as Messenger, Instagram, etc. These platforms give me instant access to my contacts whether they live nearby or far away, as I can share my stories and stay in touch with them.
Digital Data
It is normal for us to utilize tools like PowerPoint or Prezi as well as create visuals, infographics, and charts that are eye-catching and talk about our findings and data in class. The presentation’s appeal is boosted by these digital platforms and enhances understanding of the research results. Besides, rather than physical notebooks, I love using an app called Microsoft OneNote for jotting down ideas, main points, and references. This digital process ensures easy accessibility, efficient organization, and fast retrieval of information leading to a more streamlined way of organizing academic work.
Internet Access
Being a BSED Science student, I need to have internet access. It plays a crucial role in my study of the Spiral Progression Approach in K to 12 Science. My group mates and I can also get materials from recent academic sources through the internet hence incorporating the latest teaching methods in our papers. Moreover; we can communicate easily since we have online contacts which makes teamwork easier thus allowing us to compare notes together. In turn, this means that we can dig deeper into the curriculum.

I hate this assignment I'm doing for class. It's a research presentation. But like 90% of the time, it's shit I already know. But I have to find Professor McFuckwad, PhD talking about the same topic because it's not common knowledge, then sort it in that horrific MLA format.
Why can't I use sources like "my eyes", "my brain", "that star Trek episode I saw" or "the entirety of Tumblr"? Half the time, that would be more beneficial than chasing sources. And so many ended up being dodgy, because they were for literary works outside the western canon. Even the ones from Europe had a bunch of student essays used to cheat professors in the search results.
I'm terrified my sources will raise red flags. But in many cases, they were the only ones available. Or they were backing up shit I live and breathe. I didn't even bother to source the Star Trek episodes I used because I was tired and the choice of sources was between "my fucking eyes" and Wikipedia.
I'm done with the PowerPoint section, though. So I won't have to do this shit until next semester.
