- You are his opposite and that’s what he loves about you
- Your smile your laugh and yes you may be different genres but he loves you so much because of it.
- Your comfortable in your own shell and you help him to become comfortable with himself aswell!
- branch is thankful for you though you mainly come to his bunker then he comes to volcano rock city since he finds it hard to breathe due to well the lava and Asch along with the foggy presence
- Though he will visit if you can’t come if your sick or your doing an show
- He stared up at you when you were on stage signing while playing your guitar while maintaining eye contact with him
- After the show was done you rushed to him hugging him squealing excitedly glad he came to see your show
- He couldn’t help but stare at you with an spake in his eyes which you returned before leaning in kissing eachother with an smile on both your lips
- Barb coughed into your hand as you giggled while branch hid his face in your shoulder grumbling
- “Love you” Branch muttered as you smiled back “I love you too”

A something about Warlord's Ruin dialogue and Petra's exile and Uldren and Petra's relationship
“Petra, I’ve… never apologized to you. For what you’re still going through.”
The somber tone of Crow’s voice echoing through her radio sends an all-too-familiar jolt of unease down her spine. It’s uncanny how much the guardian sounds like him sometimes.
With a grimace, she shakes off the sensation, and clicks on her mic. “There’s no need,” she says, tiredly. “It wasn’t you.”
“I’m sorry,” The guardian radios back anyways. “He is too. Completely.”
She flinches again. He’s so much like the prince, it makes her nauseous sometimes - so self-obsessed he can’t help but shoulder the blame for any misdeed he can find some tangential reason to feel guilty over. What does Crow have to be sorry for?
And what exactly does Uldren have to be sorry for? For the thousandth time she replays all the decisions she made during Mara’s years-long absence, all the mistakes she made. Uldren’s arrest, and the cold, cramped cell she left him in, because she didn’t know what else to do with the shell of her former prince, her former friend. The prison break, the hunt, the squeeze of her trigger finger…
Her hands curl into tight fists, her fingernails digging painfully into her palm. There was more she could have done. She knew there was something wrong with him, she knew that he was sick. Even before Mara’s sacrifice - after the Garden, she could tell he was no longer himself, that a darkness she still does not understand had burrowed into his heart, and taken root. She could have found a way to help him, to save him maybe - but… after Saturn, the Reef, it was all too much, she wasn’t enough, not on her own. If only Mara had been here, the Queen would have been able to…
“If I could wish it away…” Crow’s voice over her radio snaps her back to the present. A wish - he’s such a fool, she could almost laugh. Almost. She clicks on her mic.
“No,” she says, sternly. She won’t let him take the blame for this - not for Uldren’s mistakes. Not for her own. “You’re helping break the cycle. That should be more than enough.”
She kills the connection before he can respond. She suspects her words will do nothing to ease his misplaced sense of guilt - they never helped Uldren much, either. And she’s in no mood to listen to him find new ways to twist the lingering stain of Uldren’s mistakes into his own responsibility.
They are so much alike, more-so every day. She leans heavily over her desk, and closes her eye, remembering another apology, a lifetime ago…
The sun is so much brighter on Earth. Especially this time of year, mid-summer - it hangs high in the cloudless sky, just beyond the Traveler’s looming figure, and it’s so bright that the white concrete and iron railings of the Vanguard's Tower shine like marble and silver. Somewhere deep down, Petra knows it must be beautiful - but allowing herself to admit that feels like a sleight on her true home, the gentle golden rays of a sun always sitting low on the horizon, the refraction of purple light off the amethyst-studded walls of the Dreaming City.
With a frown she sinks deeper into the shadow of the awning she's standing under, and squints against the blinding light. This place is a prison, she reminds herself - nothing here is beautiful.
A hand on her shoulder startles her out of her musing - she whirls around, her knife whizzing up to the intruder’s throat, and finds Uldren Sov smiling ear to ear, hands held up in mock surrender.
“Your highness-!” She stammers, jumping back in surprise. “You shouldn't be here!”
“I'm not,” Uldren grins, pulling the hood of his cloak further forward to obscure his face. “Come on, let's get something to eat.”
They sit at a rickety metal table, in a cramped alleyway un-befitting a prince, with two bowls of hot noodles in a delicious, savory broth between them. It’s humble, but the noodle shop is one of the few places Petra has come to enjoy during her exile to the Tower - and discreet enough that Uldren is unlikely to be recognized.
“Everybody misses you back in the Reef,” Uldren says, picking absently at his bowl with a pair of chopsticks. “Jol says hello.”
“He isn't with you?” Petra asks, squinting up at the rooftops around the alley shop - searching for the silhouette of Uldren's shadow.
“No,” Uldren answers as he carefully pulls a few noodles up with his chopsticks, regarding them suspiciously. “He doesn't care for the Last City.”
Finally, he takes a bite, slurping the noodles into his mouth. He considers it, then scowls - Petra thinks for a moment it must not be to his liking, but the glimmer of irritation in his eyes betrays his true feelings. It's not the taste of the noodles that bothers him, but where they were made - he must be furious that such a delicious dish could possibly have come from the Vanguard’s Tower.
Petra smiles, and shakes her head. She wonders if he even bothered to tell Jolyon about this little excursion, or if he had just assumed he was doing the man a favor by leaving him behind.
“Anyway,” Uldren sighs, pushing his bowl across the table towards her. “When are you coming home?”
Her smile breaks, her heart twists with grief.
“Uldren,” she stutters. “You know, this isn’t-.... Queen Mara, she said-...”
Emotion wells up in her throat, sharp as knives, and she bites her tongue to keep it from spilling into her voice. This position is an exile, a punishment for her mistakes. She's never going home again.
“I know what she said,” Uldren sighs, waving his hand dismissively. “But do you really think she meant it? Come on, you're smarter than that.”
Petra stares at him blankly, mind racing. What does he mean? Did the Queen say something to him? About her? Uldren rolls his eyes, and leans forward.
“Petra,” he says seriously. “How long have you been away - five years? Six? This is a waste of your talents, and everyone knows it. You belong back home, with us.”
“All this-” He gestures around at the bare concrete walls, which look nothing like marble in this dark, dingy alleyway. “It's just a stupid show Mara had to put on, a political farce to stay in the Vanguard’s good graces. It doesn't mean anything, and it’s high time the show ended.”
He looks away, brow furrowed as he considers his next words for a long moment. Finally, he looks back at her, eyes flickering with emotion.
“I'm… I'm sorry, by the way,” he says. “For all of this. It's my fault you're here. For-”
“No,” Petra cuts him off, raising her hand. She will not allow him to debase himself, not for this. “I was the one who called for the bombing run, it was my decision that killed them. And this is my punishment.”
“But I was the one who dropped the bombs,” Uldren hisses, eyes burning. “I should have seen those guardians, I should have noticed-...”
He breaks off, biting his lip angrily, then slumps back in his chair, sulking. Petra looks down at his bowl of noodles, delicious and untouched.
“If you had seen them,” she starts, cautiously. “Would that have stayed your hand?”
Uldren frowns, and looks away.
“If I had known what would happen? That you'd be the one to take the fall for their deaths?” His frown tightens, the corners of his lips curling down in disgust. “Yes.”
Emotion swells in Petra’s chest again, but this time the feeling is warm and bittersweet. Pride, and gratefulness, for a prince who acts earnestly as a friend, not a sovereign. A friend so fiercely loyal he would try to take her guilt from her, and wear it himself.
“This isn’t your fault,” Petra says, quietly. “It was my mistake. My decision.”
“It was the right decision,” Uldren says, eyes snapping back to her with renewed ferocity. “It may have been an accident, but it was no mistake. You know that, Mara knows that. And she knows you don’t deserve to be rotting away in this tower for making the right call.”
Her eye opens wide, she sucks air into her lungs as she considers the truth in his words. He’s right. Of course he’s right. The Queen, she knows everything, so she must understand the depth of Petra’s loyalty, the veracity of her fervor. She must understand that there was no other call Petra could have made, there was no way to predict the guardians’ interference, no reason to believe they’d be anywhere near that valley. She must understand…
Uldren leans forward again, prodding his finger declaratively into the table.
“Write to my sister, plead your case, and she will listen, I promise you that,” he says. “The City’s had their pound of flesh from you.”
“If you truly believe the Queen will hear me…” Petra starts, but treacherous hope flutters wildly in her chest, sending a smile bursting across her face before she can finish the thought. She laughs, suddenly giddy. Of course, Mara will understand. The exile, it’ll be lifted, her guilt absolved, and she’ll finally, finally-
“Come home, Petra.” Uldren smiles, lifting his finger to point directly at her. “That’s an order.”

Which characters have tragic pasts that aren’t recognized enough?
I think people don't notice because Petra is very active about her situation. She's a political hostage in a foreign land that has turned her country into a vassal state from the war that killed her dad. But she's made the most of it. Petra taught herself a new language, she trains constantly, she's made herself be involved with the politics of Fodlan, and she's always seeking to better herself and hone her skills so that she's not just a prisoner but someone useful to Brigid. Petra's the opposite of passive, she refuses to just let things happen to her, and in a lot of ways she doesn't have a choice either she is an active participant in her life or she will just be shuffled around as a political pawn and hostage against the country she loves. We don't know the specifics of the international agreement about Petra but I can easily imagine it being something like "give us a hostage as a guarantee you won't attack us or we'll continue the war we won, raze you to the ground, kill all of you, and take your land".
Claude's backstory isn't tragic and uh... at least half the cast if not more has had it worse than him but I do want to talk about it since I never see people talk about the struggles Claude has had. I think a large part of it is that like Petra, Claude doesn't show the struggles he's been through nor does he really talk about himself or his past. They both show a strong front and face forward in their lives.
Claude's spent his entire life being alienated, in Almyra for being too foreign and not Almyran enough and then in Fodlan for being too foreign and not Fodlan enough. He's faced multiple childhood assassination attempts just because of his parentage and at least some of these have come from family members. Claude is a rarity among the cast in having not only both parents but having 2 parents that love him. However his parents are of the tough love approach, that what doesn't kill will make him stronger so they offer him little support, protection, or help in a world that is hostile to him at every turn. And so Claude grew up with everyone against him, with his every action used as justification that he's weaker and lesser than a full Almyran. And this has destroyed his ability to trust or be open with people. Claude is very insecure in his interactions with other people because he's used to every slip of information given being used against him. You see this in his supports with Marianne where he sees any information about himself as possible leverage against him so it has to be exchanged like a commodity so that they both have equal leverage against the other. And yet he does genuinely want to help people and cares about those around him as clumsy as his attempts are at making friends. Claude's backstory is not nearly on the level of say Edelgard's or Lysithea's but it's a shame no one is talking about it at all.
Dimitri stans screaming and crying about poor Dimitri and yeah he's had it rough (a lot of 3H characters have traumatizing backstories) but Dedue is right there, what about his pain! The hypocrisy! The Tragedy of Duscar led to the massacre of his family and not only that but he's now a genocide survivor since Faerghus decided to wipe out Duscar, take over their land, rename and settle on it. Not to mention they were wrongfully scapegoated for it. Dedue has had everything taken from him so he doubles down on this life debt to Dimitri because it's the one thing he has left. It's a trauma response coping mechanism that he's rather override his will, opinions, and personhood for Dimitri's sake. And the of course Faerghus hates him and reminds him of that every day.
At this point I'm wondering if its a racism problem that it's Petra, Dedue, and Claude whose struggles are most often overlooked.

how do you think Jesse's friends would react if they saw Jesse breaking down/sobbing (at least the ones that are still in Beacontown and didn't leave)
Hmm 🤔 Well first we have to discuss how Jesse would act. I do believe Jesse is an emotionally vulnerable person under all that tough muscle and heroic ego, and I really do think those bottled up feelings only got worse and worse as the games progressed and he experienced new trauma. He's definitely the kind of person to hide it, and I don't think he cries often, but when he does, that means it's been a really, really bad day for him. I really do think he would struggle to open up about his emotions while on the other hand doing his best to be there for others when they open up theirs. He's a good boy through and through 😔. To cry in front of someone would be extremely distressing for him, but it also comes down to who it really is.
I'll cover Axel, Olivia, Ivor, Petra, and then Lukas.
With Axel, I personally think he'd be kind of awkward about seeing Jesse finally break. I also think Jesse would do his absolute best to try and suppress the urge to cry in front of him. They've been friends forever, and Axel has more than likely seen Jesse cry before, but I imagine Jesse's view on the emotion would be twisted as a sign of weakness over the games timeline, and he'd reeeally have trouble showing that side of himself to Axel again now that he's the big hero and stuff. If it were to come down to it though, and Jesse can't hold back the tears, I think Axel is the kind of guy to swing his arm around Jesse and like, really do his best to try and cheer him up with jokes or with different forms of positive energy. I think Axel's motive would be more to get the tears to stop rather than to sit there and let it happen, y'know? He'd definitely try to think of ways to do it too, like offer to go somewhere or do something fun to get Jesse's mind off of things.
With Olivia, I think she'd be a lot more compassionate towards Jesse, but she's also the kind of person to sit there and try to find a solution to his problems. She's also the kind to want to stop the waterworks, but while hugging onto Jesse and patting his back and reassuring him she's there, and that they can find a way to fix this together (whatever problem it may be).
With Ivor, he's definitely the one to take the dad role. Sit by Jesse's side and soften his tone to be more on level with Jesse's compromised state of mind. Jesse would express his sorrows, and Ivor I think would listen closely, hear him out, and like Olivia, want to find a solution to his problems, all while reminding Jesse that with life comes the inevitable hardships of past mistakes. Ivor would know, of course, considering he's the one who technically started ALL of it with the Witherstorm. I think he'd use a lot of big words while talking to him and a lot of life lessons he has personally experienced so Jesse could probably find something to relate to from the talk.
Petra is kind of a tough one, and I feel like Jesse would really try to refrain from showing this level of emotions around her (you know like crying and stuff). We could see how well he held it together back when Petra was confessing her fear of losing her friends back in the Admin's cabin, but I feel like that was because he was taking the caring best friend role and wanted to stay calm and collected so he could be there to support Petra properly. Petra though, I feel like would really try to mirror it. As in she stays strong in the moment and supports and talks it out with Jesse in the best way she knows, but she is still far more awkward about it. Petra isn't very good with all the emoitional stuff, and we have seen that, so she would definitely struggle with her words and just kind of, idk maybe even UUGHH at herself because she doesn't know what to say or do but really wants to help Jesse stop crying. She's definitely a hugger, giving this man a big squeeze and promising things are going to be okay, just as they always have been, and maybe even entice Jesse with the idea of a little exploring or mining. Something to get things off the mind.
Now with Lukas 😏
I mean if you read my Recovery fic, you probably know how this is gonna go.
Lukas has always been vocally concerned for Jesse's well being, just as all of his friends have, but Lukas does it so much more and does it in a completely different way. His tone always softens, his words drawing out carefully because he knooows how Jesse gets when it all comes down to him. Jesse gets awkward and brushes most of his problems aside, but I really do think he's a lot more willing to talk about them with Lukas more than anyone else.
If Jesse were to finally break in front of Lukas, it's definitely a moment he's been cautiously anticipating. Lukas is definitely a hands on kind of comforter, similar to Olivia, but instead of trying to find a solution to Jesse's problems, or trying to get him to stop his tears, Lukas accepts and embraces them. He holds Jesse as close as possible, hugging onto him and rubbing his back in soothing circles. He lets Jesse sob into his shirt and clutch at the fabric. Whatever it is Jesse is saying, Lukas listens and doesn't interrupt. He lets Jesse get it aaaall out. Same with if Jesse decides not to say anything at all and just cries it all out until he can't anymore. He's patient with him, and when it's all over, then he'll grant Jesse the reassurance he deserves.
I feel like in all these situations, Jesse definitely tries to hide his face or chokes himself up on how much he's trying to suppress his tears. Lukas though will encourage him, and remind Jesse that crying is important and a healthy and integral part of the healing process. Once Jesse's done, and is at that mute state where he's cried himself speechless, Lukas will go out of his way to make sure Jesse is comfortable and he'll do something on his own terms to cheer the hero up. And at the end of it all, maybe when Jesse's in a cleaer headspace and has a cookie in hand and a warm blanket draped over his shoulders, then Lukas will talk to him about everything. 💙
EDIT: Adding Radar since I TOTALLY forgot 🙈
I feel like Radar would definitely be panicking a bit. Seeing his boss break down?? He's fanatically searching for something to say or do. I don't think he knows Jesse as well as the others do, so he's not as mentally equipped to tackle this scenario as the others, but he still does his very best, just as he always does, to comfort Jesse the best he can. Radar definitely the kind of guy to start speaking fast while he's in a panic, so he starts rambling on and on about how amazing he thinks Jesse is and how great a job he's doing, basically trying to soothe Jesse in the form of compliments which I'm sure does eventually get Jesse to stop and go silent and consider what Radar is saying. You know, like kind of hyping himself up like yeah... yeah!!! He does feel good about those things he does that Radar brought up, and it really helps steer his emotions in a better direction for the time being. Jesse would probably apologize to Radar for the whole thing, definitely embarrassed over it all, and Radar reassures him that it's all well and good, and that no matter what, he still thinks Jesse's the best there is : D

Pouring one out for da homies 🍾 (levi squad)
fr i forgot how tragic and devastating it is. you think 'okay things are rly bad' because at the end of the previous episode, the Disguised Scout just cut gunther down in cold blood.
the next one starts with erwin hypothesizing that the female titan didn't die when she got herself cannibalized, and armin hypothesizes about the imposters in the 104th and what happened 5 yrs before.
so you get answers topped with dozens of more questions before coming back to levi squad still running away from Disguised Scout.
your interest is piqued just enough, and you've learned just enough to feel satisfied AND fascinated by whoever the female is AND angry at her actions. aside from the music and animation which builds the tension nicely, builds the hype and takes your emotional state wherever it wants to.
petra for the last time reminds eren to trust them like he did before when it worked out, and so he starts running away.
and levi squad is doing SO GOOD at first. they work together as a team at the best we have ever seen them up to this point.
you're VISCERALLY aware of the fact that levi isn't there, which may be added by even more distress at the fact the Disguised Scout was pretending to be him. but it shows how well he trained them.
they do everything right - but the female titan is just way out of their league in terms of skill and ability. they are so aggressive and everyone is angry, but then they are killed so coldly. there is no nice send-off and no closure. first eld, then petra.
oluo is an interesting choice to leave alone too, bc up to now he's gained the reputation of being annoying and pompous - altho charming in a small annoying dog way - but even alone now, he keeps calm. the grief and tears quickly become determination, and tries to get her nape, of course only to die in just as cold a fashion.
all the while, after eld dies eren turns around and is trying to get back to levi squad as quick as possible but he's just too late. it's soo messed up (masterfully done)
ok still on the topic of levi squad😭levi finding their bodies frankly comes out of nowhere and casually, which is SO effective for conveying what it's like to be a scout. bc no matter your relationship with your comrades, death is just as likely and happens often. also you'd expect a sappy monologue from the leader/friend (levi), but fittingly there isn't + levi doesn't allow himself to mourn in the moment.
you just watch him slowly breeze by with a dark inscrutable look which is better conveyed in the manga, stopping at petra. (((which so many times it's conveyed that they were closer than everyone else on levi squad in the background which is cool :3))).
i mean the setuppp😩
Tumblr media
pour one out for levi squad indeed

I always thought it was interesting that after the final battle, Jack is the one who advocates for saving Romeo. Romeo who made the Sea Temple that killed two of Jack’s friends. Romeo who assumed the form of one of those friends only to reveal later that he had perished. Romeo who (depending on who gets the clock) either throws Jack in the Sunshine Institute with Jesse or sends him to the terminal space to train and become his champion. Romeo who takes over Beacontown and allows Jack’s emporium to be ransacked. Yes I know some of these apply to Petra as well, but I was expecting Petra to be the sympathetic one and Jack to think Romeo was too far gone.
—Especially after Jack was so averse to working with Xara after finding out she was once an Admin. She didn’t even do anything bad- Just the fact that she was an Admin freaked Jack out because it reminded him of what happened to Vos. Romeo caused Jack so much grief that the mere idea of teaming up with someone who used to have that power was out of the question. I was genuinely expecting Jack to make a parallel between Romeo being unable to escape the Terminal Zone by himself and Vos being unable to escape the temple alone.
—I understand why Petra was the one to turn Romeo away since he was her foil character. He essentially shows her what trying to keep things the same way forever can do. However, I was expecting her to be the one to sympathize with what Romeo was going through and in turn make him see that anyone can change. She got to see the more personal aspects of Romeo’s past with Xara and Fred (like the cabin and the old journals) after all. He did his best to keep everyone together, but it failed in the worst possible way. Now, rather than spending eternity with his two best friends, he has to deal with what he caused + suffocating loneliness.
Idk I was just thinking about this today. Honestly either of them could turn Romeo away and it’d make sense after what he put them through. Telltale, why are you making me feel for every single character-

Another sad AOT post (WARNING: It's kind of long because of the pictures :)). I saw a bunch of TikToks and Tumblr posts about random sad AOT facts and then I thought about some of the ones I saw a little more, and I realised something so damn ironic and sad.
Majority of the main characters who died never achieved their goal or desires, regardless of how trivial it was:
Eren never achieved freedom for himself and was rather a slave to it. He also never got to live his life in peace with Mikasa and Armin like he wanted
Tumblr media
Sasha never got to see her people take back their island from the titans (and those who hated Eldians) and farm for more cattle like she wanted. Even after Paradis became "independent" and the titans disappeared, she had to fight in the Survey Corps until she died
Tumblr media
Hange never got to see a flying titan and never got to properly ride on the Cart Titan's back
Tumblr media
Erwin never got to the basement and never found out the secret of the titans
Tumblr media
Petra never got to marry Levi (regardless of who you ship with Petra or Levi in AOT, it is canon that she liked him)
Tumblr media
Bertholdt never confessed his feelings to Annie and never got to date her like he wanted
Tumblr media
Ymir never got to marry Historia
Tumblr media
Hannes never got to avenge Eren's mother, Carla, because he was eaten by the same titan who ate her
Tumblr media
Kenny Ackerman never obtained the power of the Founding Titan like he wanted and never got to see the world the way Uri did
Tumblr media
Keith Shadis never got to become a hero or "someone special." As the watchers, we can think of him as a hero who sacrificed himself to help humanity, but in the show itself, no one will remember his name because they didn't even know he was on the boat and they didn't know he helped them before they left the port.
Zeke never got to experience life after he finally felt that he wanted to live again. He had a very late realisation of this, but it still counts. After Armin reminded him in the Paths about why we as humans continue to live, he decided that he wanted to live again after reminiscing about his time with Mr Ksaver. Levi killed him before he could
Tumblr media
Compared to all the characters who lived and either achieved their goal or never really had goals in the first place, it just makes me so sad thinking about the irony of it all. All those who died, morally grey or not, never got to achieve their dreams because of their circumstances and the cruel world they were born into. Isayama when I catch you

Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Season 2: Episode 10 Review
- Starting off the episode with a mass murder, beautiful. Though the good thing is that there’s a cool down period so if we can draw out the fight long enough, we may be able to win
- Chuchu begging Secelia despite her being a Spacian, how far we’ve come. And the fact that she hooks her boy Rouji up to get some tech info is also great.
- Felsi is the best girl and I will accept no disagreements. The way Earth House just adopts her like a homeless puppy is funny. Also the fact that she was so willing to do something besides wait for Petra to get better is great. She is the ultimate kusogaki as she is the only one going to the final battle.
- GOD DAMN IT ANIME GIVE ME YOUNG ELAN FOOTAGE!
- I’m guess the backstory was cut due to time constraints but I just want to see who the Elan’s were before they’re unfortunate unpersoning. However, we were still given delicious 5nore crumbs so I will accept it. It’s interesting how El5n stated El4n was the lucky one despite earlier in the series saying he was unfortunate. He finally realized that even though El4n died, he had someone who loved him, and now he knows just how important his actions towards Norea were. His line about envy could be directed at either Norea, Suletta, or El4n, and I hope he finds his own self separate from the Elan persona that had been forced on him
- Suletta and Guel’s duel was so stupid but so adorable. It really hammers home how they’re still children and they’ll do childish things. Also Guel 100% threw that duel, or at least they animated it so it was clear Guel knew how to fence but Suletta was just floundering. He’s the ultimate supporter of lesbians and I love him for that. Please G-Witch, give him a boyfriend. Also Guel slapping himself to remind himself not to butt in on SuleMio’s affairs, lol.
- The talk between Suletta and Miorine with slash playing in the background was just *chef’s kiss* perfect. Right or wrong, and even if there’s nothing to gain, Suletta wants to move forward. And she wants to move forward with Miorine. They have to face their problems head on. They lock fingers, willing to move on together.
- Guess they didn’t have the money for Delling’s VA. But it is nice to see a realistic depiction of a coma patient. Though I’m not sure if he appreciates being yelled at after he wakes up
- What is Prospera searching for? It can’t be the Calibarn. Is it something special Notrette made? And who removed it?
- What deal did she make with Shaddiq? Is she taking his harem squad? Did she plan to work with him on Earth?
- The fact that the tomato is literally embedded with love in its very DNA is beautiful. The tomato has always represented love in this series, and here we see that it’s very creation was because of Miorine’s mother’s love for her.
- Poor Suletta is struggling hard in that Gundam, but also it’s the coolest suit in the show so far. IT HAS A FREAKING BROOM. SHE IS LITERALLY THE WITCH FROM MERCURY. RECLAIM THE SLUR
- Suletta is talented. Aerial used to overshadow as we didn’t know how much handholding Eri was doing, but this proves she’s great even without it. But I don’t think it’ll be enough to defeat Eri all by herself. She needs others to help her. They all need to come together and create a better future!
- Lauda, my son, please stop this. We are destroying the Death Star right now. Have your angst moment later. And dear god don’t make your brother kill you, and don’t die of heatstroke like a dog in a car with the Schwarzette. I’ve seen some people say Guel might die but I reject that reality. After all the suffering he’s been out through, he needs to live.
I feel like we’re in a weird space where there both could and couldn’t be a second half. We have a lot to wrap up, but also we’re closing up Suletta and Miorine’s personal journeys. Though I hope we do get the second half and have it focus on Earth and the Space League. And maybe we’ll get to kill Peil while we’re at it

Re: BG3 Epilogue and Romanced Astarion
BG3 ending spoilers re: a letter spawn Astarion receives and discussion of a future plot point for the sequel to Lost Souls Like Us. Looking for some community input.
So, we receive a letter from Sebastian, and it's lovely. Hopeful, even! Astarion's siblings have managed to get them under control (after large losses) and they've found ruins to make a home in. He thanks Tav for his freedom and seems intent on living and rebuilding a life for himself.
That's great and lovely! However, a major subplot in the Untiled LSLU sequel involves Sebastian confronting Astarion and he's bitter. Deeply angry that Astarion has built a happy life on the surface with Petra and her little brother. It's an examination of Astarion's guilt, and one of the major themes in this work is that guilt, and Astarion learning to live with it. Petra's little brother, Jan, reminds him of Sebastian in a lot of ways - he's the sort of young man who likely would have been one of his targets; he's quiet, sweet, and lacks romantic experience.
This confrontation does not go well - Petra winds up traumatized because she's terrified she'll lose Astarion the same way she lost Karlach. Sebastian asks something of Astarion that he cannot bring himself to do (keeping it vague for spoiler reasons), and the entire situation leaves a bitter taste in everyone's mouth.
Now, there are a couple of revelations that don't work with the canon I've set up that I'm working around (the reunion will be delayed in my universe because Petra was so overwhelmed with grief, Gale gets the orb removed later than he does in canon, etc), but this is the one that's going to cause me the most headaches.
I suppose I'm trying to figure out if I can still make this work - perhaps Sebastian was putting on a front in this letter. He wanted to be able to rebuild and find joy in life again. Truly, but words on paper are easy and making that a reality is a lot harder. I could make the character in question an OC I suppose, but I feel like having it be Sebastian would be so much more powerful, given the conversation in the dungeons, and the fact that so much of this story will be focused on Astarion getting to know Petra's brother and coming to see himself as his protector and not a predator.
So, where I'm at right now is I either leave things as they are and make edits to reference the letter, and expand on Sebastian's attempts to make a life for himself and the despair of being trapped in the dark after 170 years of suffering, OR I cut the plotline entirely and figure out a new way to tell the story I want to tell, OR edit the confrontation so that it is less bitter. Were it less bitter, I'd need to find a new way to trigger Petra's fear of losing Astarion because that's a pretty big moment for her too.
I really don't want to cut it. It's writing I'm proud of and the story I want to tell, but I'm not sure if parts of it still work with the epilogue. Would appreciate any insight people have regarding the tone of a confrontation - whether something bitter and tragic would still fit, or if I should lighten things up.

Baby, the stars shine bright: Chapter 4 - Being Cazador's
(Trigger warnings (18+): angst, canon-typical violence, graphic description of assault, gore & violence, grooming, non-con/rape, psychological horror/terror, torture)
His master had lied. Astarion hadn't won his favour, not really. He was forced to stay inside again for months. Astarion couldn't tell how long it truly was. In the dungeon, chained to the wall, he had no way to track the time. Godey, the living skeleton, was his torturer. Astarion knew Godey didn't do all these atrocious things to him for fun but with professional steady hands because he was following orders. Somehow, knowing that Godey found no joy or satisfaction in torturing him and his siblings, made it more bearable. The thing that did rile Astarion up, was when Cazador came by for a visit to gloat at his spawn's pain.
"Ah, you know, Astarion, you're my favourite after all," his master spoke one day while wiping away some blood from Astarion's chest. "Your screams always are the sweetest."
I refuse to die in this fucking place, Astarion swore to himself. I'll survive, just to spite Cazador, and kill him with my own hands one day when he least expects it.
The first thing Astarion did, as soon as he was out of the dungeon and given a second chance to lure prey to his master, was to buy as much food and alcohol as he could. He carried it all down to the Chionthar, hiding under the bridge of Wyrm's Crossing, and tried to enjoy real food again. But Dalyria had been right; everything tasted like ash, and even the most expensive alcohol reminded him of vinegar and couldn't get him drunk anymore. Still, Astarion eat the food, desperate to taste different flavours, but it was futile. Additionally, his new vampire body wasn't happy with the unwanted nutrition. Astarion had to squat behind the bushes until his bowels were empty. That didn't stop him though and he kept eating until his body started rejecting the food immediately. After vomiting uncontrollably until his stomach was empty again, Astarion washed his face in the river even though the running water stung like acid. Afterwards, he sat at the riverbank with the last peach in his hand and cried.
All this time, he hadn't really realised how different his body was since being turned into a spawn. Now, after multiple failed attempts to keep real food down, reality hit him like a troll. Astarion cried as he held his favourite fruit in his hand that smelled so good, but could never be eaten again. He thought about Solaria who'd always bought peaches at the market for him if they were available. About how even little things that had made him happy, couldn't be enjoyed anymore. That night, Astarion dwelled at the riverbank, mourning his old life and old self, secretly wishing to combust in the morning sun. Unfortunately, Dalyria found him before dawn. Silently, she took in the scene. Then, she nodded understandingly and hauled Astarion back to Cazador's palace. This time, Astarion wasn't punished for disobeying his master's orders. His self-ascribable pain seemed to be punishment enough. Or so he'd thought...
A few nights later, Cazador took Astarion, Dalyria, and Petras for a stroll. Together, they walked through the streets, passing a couple of rowdy tavern goers, some beggars, and a few strongly-perfumed prostitutes. Astarion frowned as his master guided them along a well-known neighbourhood.
"Uhm, Master, what are we doing here?" Astarion asked tentatively.
"Where do you think we're going, pet?"
Astarion didn't answer. He should only speak if he had something nice or flattering to say, but all the words that lingered on the tip of his tongue were neither. But the dreading feeling grew the closer they walked to Astarion's house. Every fibre of his body screamed at him to distract Cazador, to lure him away from the place he called home. The place where Solaria was. It felt like a nightmare when his master stopped before his house and pushed the door open.
"After you, pet," he purred and Astarion felt sick.
With trembling limbs, he entered his own house. It still looked like he remembered it. Cazador put a hand onto his shoulder and pushed his spawn into the living room.
"Astarion!" Solaria exclaimed, jumping off the sofa she'd been sitting on. Milos, who stood next to it, tried to hold her back, but she escaped his grasp. She hurled herself around Astarion's neck with a sob.
"Where in the sweet hells were you? You were gone for two years!"
Astarion's eyes widened in shock.
"What? I - I didn't know, I - Gods, Solaria..."
He wrapped his arms around her and held her close. She smelled delicious. Like rosemary, lavender, and bergamot, and her blood like the finest brandy. Astarion loved her so much and he was so happy to see her again, but something was wrong. Very wrong. His dread got worse when his master chuckled darkly.
"What a heartwarming reunion."
Astarion got distracted by Solaria's hands on his cheeks.
"What happened to you, little star? You're skin's all cold and your eyes are burning red."
He opened his mouth to answer, but before he could do so, Cazador stepped in, pulling Solaria away from him.
"So, that's the little menace that keeps you attached to your old life? Hm..." Cazador mused. "We can change that."
Cold fear poured over Astarion.
"No... no! Cazador, no! I'll do anything, anything, you want, but please leave her alone!"
"Don't beg, Astarion!" Solaria snapped sharply. "You're a free elf, a proud member of the Ancunin family! You shine as bright as the stars you're named after!"
At that, Cazador laughed, an ugly, humourless thing.
"Ah, I see where my pet's fighting spirit's coming from. Even more reasons to get rid of you."
Solaria glared at him, spiting nails.
"How dare you walk into my house and act like a prick! You'll pay for hurting my love, you monster! Who do you think you are? A god?"
Smirking, Cazador answered: "I soon will be."
And with that, he bore his fangs into Solaria's throat.
"No!" Astarion yelled, trying to free himself from his siblings' grip. "Anything! I'll do anything you want, Master, but please let her go!"
His pleas fell on deaf ears as Cazador drained Solaria's body dry in seconds. Astarion had do watch helplessly how the love of his life died in his master's arms. A monster, Solaria had called him, and yes, that's what Cazador was. The man in question carelessly dropped the lifeless body onto the wooden floor and elegantly wiped the corner of his mouth. Astarion was blinded by tears. He'd never felt this much hate towards anyone before.
"That'll hopefully solve your deviance, pet," Cazador scolded, almost sounding bored. He turned towards Milos and stroke his cheek.
"Well done, pet. You deserve a reward."
"Thank you, Master," the vampire spawn smiled and kissed Cazador's hand.
Heat exploded in Astarion's body when realisation hit him.
"You!" he growled. "You were the one sniffing around in my past and finding my love? And for what? To please your master?"
Milos shrugged uncaringly.
"You know how it is. We all want to make Master happy, but you... you were distracted because your past was holding you back. Now, that this troubling part's gone, you can focus on the present."
Astarion saw red. Literally. With a ear-piercing scream, he freed himself from his siblings' grip, pounced on Milos, wrestled him to the floor, and ripped his throat out with his teeth. Screaming and panting, Astarion kept hacking his fingernails into his brother's flesh, lost in rage. Dalyria and Petras had frozen in fear and stood stock still.
"Astarion! Enough!"
Cazador's loud voice pulled him out of his bloodlust. Panting and with his exposed fangs on full display, Astarion turned around. His eyes were still feral and he was covered in Milos' blood.
"How dare you kill one of your siblings!" Cazador boomed. "I can't allow it!"
Astarion growled at him and snapped his teeth. Dalyria and Petras scrambled to the back of the room, utterly terrified. But Cazador just stared daggers at him, more annoyed about Milos' death than saddened.
"Look what you've done! You killed one of my perfectly-functioning spawns. You owe me a new one, pet. You'll find a suitable candidate for a replacement, understand?"
Astarion worked his jaw silently, but nodded after a while.
"Now, get up," Cazador demanded impatiently. "We must leave before we arouse suspicion."
Immediately, Dalyria and Petras followed his orders. Astarion, on the other hand, crawled to Solaria's corpse. His master sighed long-sufferingly.
"She's long dead. No need to cry over spoil milk."
The addressed hissed and growled, holding his dead lover close to his chest.
"If Milos' report was right, she has a family," Cazador added nonchalantly. "I'm sure they'd want to see their daughter's corpse and they'll take care of the funeral."
At that, Astarion stopped hissing, instead, he looked at Solaria. After a long pause, he bent down and kissed her already-cold lips. Then, he lay her onto the ground carefully before getting up slowly.
"Are you done with your temper tantrum, boy?" his master asked annoyed.
Astarion didn't answer but made his way towards the door. The vampires left the house quickly, leaving behind two dead bodies and a hell of a lot of blood.
Cazador punished him for his action.
Astarion was tied to his bed, spread eagle, with his face down, as Cazador spent hours carving a 'poem' into his back with a knife. His master hummed a happy melody while Astarion screamed himself hoarse.
"You're living, breathing art, pet," Cazador told him. "My poem makes you even more beautiful."
Astarion wanted to retch.
Afterwards, he spent an entire year chained to the dungeon's wall, being regularly wiped by Godey. After a while, it got easier to ignore the hunger. Apparently, sometimes, vampire spawns lost their minds due to starvation. Astarion didn't. He was denied blood, but he fed off his hatred towards Cazador instead. He remembered Solaria's last words to him: "You're a free elf, a proud member of the Ancunin family. You shine as bright as the stars you're named after."
He could survive this, all of it. Astarion lived on pure spite during his years under Cazador's thumb.
Finally, Astarion was allowed to leave the dungeon. He got fed and bathed.
"Astarion, your hair..." Dalyria breathed. "Your hair turned grey."
The addressed started laughing hysterically.
Cazador sent him into the streets. Before doing anything else, Astarion walked to the graveyard, looking for Solaria's grave. She was buried in the family's crypt. Astarion lay down a bundle of freshly-plucked daisies and a peach.
"I love you, sunshine," he whispered as tears rolled down his cheeks. "Please, forgive me."
Now, he had to find a suitable person to become Cazador's new spawn. Astarion picked his victim carefully. He was looking for someone who's conventionally pretty and seemed mentally strong enough to endure Cazador's torture. He saw just that in Yousen. The blonde gnome was fairly attractive, with a warm smile and clever hands. It was almost too easy to seduce him. Astarion led Yousen upstairs to a rented room and kissed him hungrily. The blood thrumming through the gnome's veins almost drove Astarion crazy, but he controlled his vampiric instinct to bite him. Instead, he sucked Yousen's dick and kissed him breathless. Afterwards, when the gnome had fallen asleep, Astarion carried him to the Szarr Palace. He wasn't a fan of hurting or scaring people, thus, he preferred this method. Cazador was pleased with him, cooing over Yousen's pointy ear (his master seemed to have some kind of fetish regarding pointed ears). As a reward for his good behaviour, Astarion was allowed to feed on three sewer rats.
Yousen was furious when he woke up as a vampire spawn and Astarion petted himself on the back for picking a strong-willed person instead of a scaredy-cat. After a couple of months, Yousen stopped shooting daggers at Astarion, and after a year, they sloppily made out in the attic while exchanging hand jobs. Good. Astarion was still happy about his choice. The gnome was a quick learner, luring a poor soul to Cazador every night, without becoming a brainless slave to their master. And Cazador was pleased with Milos' replacement. Astarion was in his good grace again, but was still kept on a short leash.
He hated hunting for prey. Astarion always tried to find ways to avoid it – even if that meant being tortured instead.
It was a wonderful winter evening, the snowflakes danced through the air and glittered in the light of the street lamps. Astarion sat in a warm tavern, carefully choosing his victim. There was a cute young man across the room who drank with his friends. When their eyes met, Astarion winked at him, and the boy blushed. The vampire spawn smirked and pretended to drink his wine. After a while, the young man made his way over to him, followed by the whistles of his friends.
"Uhm, hi," he said shyly. "I uhm... well, I saw you sitting here all alone and you're incredibly handsome and uhm..."
Astarion had mercy on the poor babbling man and spoke: "Well, you weren't the only one staring, darling. I, too, am guilty. I can't take my eyes of you."
The addressed blushed again and Astarion thought it's cute. He got up from his chair, flirtatiously playing with the hem of the man's shirt.
"We could go somewhere more quiet, darling. Somewhere, where we can bask in each other's beauty undisturbed."
"Alright," the young man breathed.
Astarion took his hand and led him onto the first upper floor's gallery. There, hidden behind the wooden beams, slightly illuminated by the soft light falling through the window, Astarion trapped the man between his lithe body and the wall.
"I uhm... I've never done this with another man before."
"That's alright, I teach you," purred Astarion and brushed their noses together.
The young man, almost still a boy, giggled and Astarion's heart ached. He kissed him tenderly and the boy sighed happily.
"You're so beautiful. I've never seen anyone with such eyes before - not even an elf."
"Well, I'm special, darling."
The boy giggled again.
"Yes, you are. What's your name? I'm -"
"I don't need to know your name, darling. We can still spend a night of passion together without lifting all the mysteries, can't we?"
Before the boy could answer, Astarion kissed him again and slightly pushed his groin into him. The boy moaned sweetly, panting into Astarion's mouth. The vampire spawn squeezed his eyes shut and fought against the wave of nausea. He couldn't bear the thought of bringing this darling boy to Cazador to be killed mercilessly.
"Oooh..." whimpered the boy as Astarion stuck his hand into his trousers and started to stroke him.
"Please, let me - ah!"
"Sh, sh, just enjoy it, darling," Astarion whispered. "I won't let anything happen to you."
He held the boy who shook apart in his arms. Astarion kissed him one more time before he fled the scene. He couldn't do it. Couldn't bring Cazador people to consume and kill. He stopped and gagged. He was panting even though there was no need for him to breathe. The snow fell gently around him, covering the world in a white blanket. He couldn't feel the cold. Astarion collapsed onto the ground, spreading out in the snow-covered field outside Baldur's Gate, and gazed at the pitch-black sky.
If I keep laying here, would I die eventually, he asked himself. He knew the answer.
"Hells!" cursed Astarion and closed his eyes.
He lay in the snow motionlessly until Cazador appeared behind him like a fury. Astarion let himself be handled like a ragdoll and dragged back to his master's palace. There, Cazador scolded him, re-drew the poem on Astarion's back, raped him again, and then, sealed him into a tomb in the city's many graveyards. Astarion cursed, screamed, and cried. He was left inside his claustrophobic prison. Again, he was starving. It was a year of silence, months of scratching his hands bloody, trying to carve his way out, more months of not moving at all. Months wishing only for death.
And Astarion's hatred towards Cazador only grew.

Azure Gleam - Chapter 11
Alrighty, here we go, chapter 11!
Story
Sylvain says its a bit scary because they are trusting the Church a lot. Seriously, this weird mistrust in the Church is just dumb.
The Western Church is undergoing reform now. A new bishop will be chosen too.
Petra is not happy with the Empire and has decided that they will not be having a relationship with Brigid during her lifetime.
Some distrust of the Alliance. Even Shez is like “I don’t know, man.” Doesn’t help that Lorenz also agrees with him, saying that Claude is difficult to trust. So... there’s that.
Apparently Jeralt’s company is working under Randolph. Jeralt really has a poor sense of morality, huh?
Apparently Randolph doesn’t want to be part of the raids they are doing, according to an Imperial solider NPC who escaped. Even “turned a blind eye” to him escaping. Kinda hard to feel pity when the dude was a-ok with conquering before.
An NPC says that some Adrestian Nobles still care about the Empire’s wellbeing, and wishes there was a way we could work with them. I mean... I guess? But once again, it’s really hard to feel sympathy for people who are so ready to conquer. And they don’t seem to be trying anything to stop the Duke either.
Dimitri truly loved Patricia, according to Rodrigue, since she was the only mother he ever knew. Then Rodrigue says that this time, they are the invaders to the Empire. Technically true, but like.... it’s not equal, man, come on.
Felix, in his own way, expresses some concern that his father is running himself ragged. (Then points out that he doesn’t have any room to criticize since he is running ragged himself).
Aw, Hilda sent the Alliance crew a care package. Cute.
Lol, Yuri criticizes Balthus for buddying up with the Empire. Balthus takes it and hits it back, pointing out that Yuri worked for Rowe. Yuri implies he hated it and maybe didn’t have a choice? Oh well.
Annette: “Now we are invading. :(” Shez “They started the fight, what’s wrong with fighting back?” “Hmmm, I’m not sure that reasoning is convincing enough for me.”
Tumblr media
Literally why not, what else are we supposed to do, just twiddle our thumbs until the Empire kills itself off?
Some NPCS have changed their minds about the Church, having once believed they were a pile of garbage till they saved their life.
Another NPC admits to siding with the Empire originally since she believed they would win. Now she’s with the Kingdom for the same reason.
Marianne is concerned about Edelgard. Literally why, she started the war.
Of course, Dorothea is also worried about Edelgard. At least she is actually friends with her. But I’m getting really sick of this game gaslighting me and pushing Edelgard down my throat.
Oh, Hanneman appears in a side map! Fascinating, fascinating. So is Ladislava.
And now for the big chapter battle.
Seems like this is similar to the SB battle where a bunch of houses are together as one, except this time on the Empire’s side instead of the Kingdom one.
Dimitri reminds everyone that we are the invading force this time, so it makes sense that the houses are banding together to protect their livelihoods.
“Not after what we have done” Ashe, buddy.... they attacked first.
Dimitri comments that he knows that if they lost their way, he knows that everyone will help him come back from it. (YES! This is what AM was missing, so nice now).
Oh, we can recruit Linhardt and Constance this chapter? For some reason, I thought Linhardt would be later.
Looks like we are killing Duke Gerth. Kinda a shame, really. He’s actually a nice one.
Oh, Monica is here! Can I kill her?
Linhardt is a Holy Knight? Interesting. Oh also, Hanneman is here.
Linhardt says he doesn’t have it in him to kill Petra. Petra is way cutthroat though, kek.
Lol, Linhardt calls us cruel for beating him up first before we actually ask him to switch sides. He does kinda have a point, lol.
So we killed Baron Ochs. But not the other lords.
Manuela is here too, excellent.
Wait, we don’t kill Monica?! NOOOO
Ok, maybe we killed two more Empire lord. Still, low death count so far. Manuela just retreats too. Hanneman as well, And Duke Gerth. Not as devastating as the SB version was, which basically killed everyone except Annette, if you wanted to let her go.
At least this route has guilt, not even SB had that. They even recognize that while it sucks, if they just sit back it won’t be good in the long run.
Whoa, Felix just kinda defended Dimitri, saying not to put everything on him. That’s my boy.
Lambert also took the throne young (Rodrigue says too young).
Dimitri and Lambert are nearly identical, except Lambert had a shorter temper.
Rodrigue had hoped Felix wouldn’t have been like him so much. Both he and Felix can’t live without serving some sort of greater purpose. For Rodrigue, that was living to make sure he kept Lambert’s promise.
Rodrigue says that Dimitri needs someone to take his hand and pull him in the right direction. He says he needs a friend, not a retainer, to do that. I guess that’s their piss poor reasoning for why it has to be someone besides Felix or Dedue.
Whoa, Arval gave his stamp of approval of Rodrigue, calling him a wonderful man. And he’s RIGHT, DAMN IT.
Oh, hi there Randolph. Guess this is his time to die.
Basically, the Empire army is mostly reduced to scrabble competing to kill the most or whatever. All picked by Duke Aegir.
Randolph tells Jeralt that if he dies, his contract will be considered terminated and Jeralt will be free to stop supporting the Empire and it’s fall into depravity. If he wasn’t an invading force, I would almost respect him.
Time to march closer to Enbarr.
Paralogue
Dimitri, Rodrigue, and Sylvain Paralogue....
A Sreng attack is coming. The leader was a previous prisoner of war that Sreng had offered up. Despite the attack having killed Matthias’ first wife, he agreed to take the boy and treat him well. He taught him the language and the ways of Foldan. But the boy eventually ran back home, with all that knowledge to boot.
Dimitri finds it profound to be on the same battlefield that his father had been one once. Sylvain finds it uncomfortable that it’s still the exact same fight though.
Lol, it’s funny that only Felix is missing here, like the trio of the past (Margrave, Rodrigue, and the late king) versus Felix, Sylvain, and Dimitri.
Matthias’ first wife was a start pupil of the Black Eagle house, and a classmate of Rodrigue and Matthias. Matthias became known as the “Wall of Ice” after she was killed in the Sreng attack.
The Sreng Commander had been planning this for a while now. Seems to also be using the Margave’s tactics he had taught him years ago.
And he apparently knew Miklan and Sylvain personally as well, so he must have been there for quite a while.
After his defeat, the commander ran off. But before he did, he and Sylvain joked with each other a bit.
The Margrave feels upset, that he taught the man how to speak their language and educated them. But Dimitri says that that was how they managed to get through to him in the first place.
Sylvain wants to bring peace between the Kingdom and Sreng, even if it takes him his whole life. Sreng wants a port and warmer land, but the Kingdom already has little to spare. So Matthias has no idea how this could end in peace.
Matthias kinda stormed off. Despite calling Sylvain naive, he actually wonders to Rodrigue if he himself is actually the naive one. He agrees with Rodrigue that he will go apologize to Sylvain for what he had said to him.
Lambert had hoped to forge peace between Duscur and Sreng. He was unsuccessful with Sreng, but had been making strides with Duscur.
Dimitri hopes this will end in peace, especially since he wants to end the need for Relics.
And I guess he did because we got the Lance of Ruin! Wish we could actually SEE that scene but... Well, we kinda do in another route-ish? So, whatever.
While not an exciting battle, I liked the premise of the paralogue and what it had to offer to the story on the whole.
A little extra note here, but this commander is 100% Leif (from the book Military History of Partholon). He is technically a prince, although never named as such. Oleg, the Sreng chief, died when a large beast (likely the Wind Caller pissed that people were in his home, but it could have been another random beast) killed him. Leif is his grandchild, the youngest of Oleg’s son’s children.
Supports
Now that Rodrigue is back, we can get to his supports.
Shez and Rodrigue B - Shez wants to have a snowball fight after the war. But apparently, Kingdom snowballs fights are basically snowball wars.....Of course it is. So cute though, thinking about Rodrigue getting ambushed by Lambert. And Matthias is apparently a cunning snowball fighter. Then Ingrid’s dad came out of nowhere (he is much older than the others) and grabbed them by the scruffs of their necks and forced them to end the fight. Stinking cute.
Rodrigue and Dimitri A - They talk about Lambert’s death a bit. Then, Dimitri asks what would Rodrigue have done if Dimitri had died that day too. Rodrigue urges Dimitri to value his life, if he wants Rodrigue to value his own. Dimitri doesn’t want Rodrigue to die for him, he believes it would destroy him. It would be like losing his father all over again. Touching support.
Yuri and Dimitri B - Dimitri learns that the people aren’t just standing around waiting for handouts. He wants to be a ruler that listens to everyone. Yuri points out that before people can participate in the government, they need stability and food on the table. Stability, food -> no longer worrying about dying -> more willing to go get educated -> get educated -> can understand what they would want or need for their future more -> participate in government intelligently. Yuri offers his services to help Dimitri raise the funds needed for this process, but Dimitri refuses at first (mostly because Yuri is a known underground crime lord) but promises to consider it. Yuri promises that he would never do something underhanded in Dimitri’s name. I’ve wanted this support chain for years, and it has not disappointed.
Shez and Catherine A - Not a particularly exciting support. I don’t really have anything to say about it. Just a “put one foot in front of the other” support.
Sylvain and Ignatz B - That painting is from 200 years ago, around the time when the Officer’s Academy was founded. They think it might be a painting of the archbishop at the time, although wonder why she is painted in plain clothes. Apparently her rule was not long, because she “died” of illness. It is said birds mourned her loss? The woman also looks like Rhea (so it’s probably Rhea). They speculate that maybe the lady (Rhea) wanted to be represented in common clothes on purpose to be free of the trappings of her position, or maybe the painter wanted to represent how she cared about the poor and downtrodden. A sneaky support about Rhea in the end. Has me wondering, though, why Rhea faked her death by illness 200 years ago.
Ingrid and Marianne B - Ingrid grew up around Pegasi, which are basically horses on wings. Why tf is Ingrid so suddenly incapable of being around her horse properly. And why are they talking still, go fucking save your friend on the battle field!
Felix and Raphael A - Felix goes hunting for boar. Kinda cool that this support calls back to Petra teaching Raphael hunting techniques. Felix talks about how his house and Dimitri’s house used to go hunting together (Dimitri bagged a shit ton of animals, Felix barely got away with his life against a boar). Raphael goes confused about which boar Felix is talking about (kek). I guess Felix isn’t the best hunter, lol. Raphael helps him take down the boar, learns a lesson along the way... sort of. Helping ain’t a bad thing. Also calls Raphael a friend. Cute.
Sylvain and Yuri B - Yuri and Sylvain snuffed out some spies. Sylvain had not hesitated to dispatch them, which surprised Yuri. Yuri admits that he is surprised that Sylvain didn’t hunt him down for killing his brother. Sylvain says its water under the bridge if Yuri helps with the war. But warns that he will not hesitate to kill him if Yuri betrays them. Still, they respect each other. Yuri comments that Sylvain is actually a loyalist deep down (except in CF, kek), and then suggests a date might be fun. Like... a date date. Sylvain is into it? Oh mama, oh lord, these boys will be the death of me.
Annette and Lorenz B - Lorenz compliments Annette for her achievements. Annette is surprised. Their relationship is mended to a degree.
Annette and Ignatz B - Annette clears up some misunderstandings. Gustave may be the best fighter, but he’s a worrywart, and terrible taking care of himself. So while he may be an outstanding fighter, but knights need more skills than just being the best fighter. So Ignatz still has a lot of strengths that are contributing, even if it’s not Gustave’s level of fighting.
Yuri and Seteth A - When the plague came through the kingdom, Yuri was saved by an old man. His mother found him, and they took the man in and cared for him. Then Yuri got sick. Yuri doesn’t know how, but the old man saved him. (The old man is dead now). Seteth then tells him that one of the Ten Elites had a terminal illness, but was cured because he got a crest. Yuri concludes that the old man must have given him a Crest, and that he is going to live a very long life as a result. Seteth, quietly, reveals that the old man was likely Aubin. Apparently, Aubin cursed the blood that flowed through his veins, but likely found salvation because he was able to save a child’s life through it. I guess Aubin might have been one of Nemesis followers before he changed sides, and cursed what he had done. Only a guess on my part though.
Shamir and Catherina A - Catherine had wanted to go drag Shamir back after Shamir slipped away. But Rhea stopped her, and that it wasn’t fair to impose the Church on others, especially those from another land (HMMMMM, NO SHIT?!). They both admit that they missed each other, and that they trust each other deeply. If Shamir didn’t switch sides as easily as slipping burgers, I might actually believe her. Sort of. I mean, she’s mot lying here, but despite the romantic undertones Shamir can still kill Catherine and show very little remorse for it. At least Felix goes into states of depression.

Military History of Partholon
Harpstring Moon, Year 892
The Sreng people mounted a large-scale invasion. They crossed the Ruska Mountains in the north and descended south into Faerghus.
King Banfig built a string of strongholds along the north of his domain, from Blaiddyd to Fraldarius, including Conand Tower.
Wyvern Moon, Year 895
Sreng was forced to retreat. The Kingdom was poised for a counterattack.
However, Sreng’s resistance and harsh, snowy conditions caused them to abandon their attack. Thus, hostilities drew to a close.
After the campaign, a young and fierce general by the name of Laetitia Zoe Gautier, royal knight and descendant of the elite hero Gautier, was widely praised.
Great Tree Moon, Year 896
Banfig confers the northern part of his territory on Laetitia. She is given the title of margrave and tasked with defending Faerghus’s border.
She strengthened defenses in the north, constructing strongholds throughout the Ruska Mountains on the border of Sreng, and reclaiming the Lance of Ruin from the Church of Seiros.
... Verdant Rain Moon, Year 1169
Having waited for summer, King Lambert joins with northern lords Gautier and Fraldarius to march on Sreng. The Kingdom army sets up camp in a single stronghold within the Ruska Mountains and opens hostilities with the Sreng army.
While engaging the Sreng chief Oleg and his forces. a gigantic beast suddenly enters the fray. It lays waste to both sides. Lambert sustains grave injuries, and Oleg disappears into a ravine.
Oleg’s son offers his own youngest child Leif as prisoner to House Gautier to broker peace.

Let's not forget claude himself says that killing a prince of Almyra can lead to greater conflict with Almyra. AND the fact that Shahid (and his men) could have been taken hostage instead ! Like DUDE he could be used as a bargaining chip!! (similar to Petra being used as insurance to keep Brigid from attacking again). Hold him hostage, let Shahid stew in his failure, and let it be a reminder to Almyra that fodlan IS NOT. WEAK.
Ugh 3 hopes claude is so dumb. Shahid honestly would've been way more useful alive. Tbh It would've been more interesting if they delved into almyra more! I also really wanted Shahid to stick around for family drama.
And frankly it should prove to claude that fodlan isn't keeping to themselves due to Rhea (someone have him meet Cyril), it's far more likely it because they're constantly being invaded! Dagda Brigid Sreng Almyra and now the Empire itself. And even then they still have trade with them. They arent isolationist, fodlans people are understandably wary and hold resentment from past invasions. Killing Shahid and Rhea ( the archbishop who allows foreigners into garreg mach) is so pointless when having them alive is way more useful. (Like there's a reason Edelgard wants her captured alive , how does he not even consider that )
My imagination is just running wild rn. When I think of the possibilities and then realize what GW turned out to be I'm like 😐 so disappointed lol
OH SO CLAUDE DOES SAY THAT KILLING AN ALMYRAN PRINCE IS A BAD IDEA I thought I'd imagined that since it hasn't been brought up again in all of this discussion. I was starting to think that I'd imagined hearing that he said that, because I remember thinking on a few occasions why would he do that after he said himself it was a bad idea?
BUT YEAH EXACTLY taking Shahid prisoner would have made a lot of sense, and those are some great examples of why! Besides making Shahid stew in rage at being not only bested by but captured by a Fodlani force, whether he's held as a bargaining chip to stave off further aggression or sent back to Almyra as a diplomatic show ("we trust you'll handle this appropriately," which comes across as goodwill -- but since his dad would undoubtedly hear that the message is from his favorite son, it blows the lid off all the shit Shahid's been up to), it feels like there are more potential benefits to his survival than his death.
Admittedly, though, I don't think that Claude ever felt Fodlan kept to themselves only because of Rhea and without any other reason. I don't remember Claude objecting to Fodlan's isolationism -- he objected to the racism, the belief on the Fodlan side of the Locket that Almyrans are barbarians and savages. From his A support with Byleth in Three Houses (emphasis mine):
"I wasn't born in Fódlan. Where I come from, the people of Fódlan are looked down on as cowards. Technically, that cowardice runs in my veins. On my mother's side, anyway. That's why the people who were around me when I was growing up thought of me as an outsider. But I don't believe the people of Fódlan are cowards. That kind of perspective is just based on ignorance. The person from Fódlan who I know best is my mother. She fell in love with a man from the wrong side of the border and had the guts to leave home to pursue that love. I always threw that in the faces of anyone who tried to make a fool of me. My mother is proof the people of Fódlan aren't all cowards. I need to destroy the prejudices that have taken root in my homeland. That's why I came here, to see Fódlan with my own eyes. I thought I might be able to find a new perspective that could help me change things. And what did I find? That the people here view anyone who's an outsider as a beast of sorts. I was shocked. Even though our cultures and beliefs are completely different, our two lands have that much in common. That's when I realized the only way to change things is to bring the whole world together and start anew.
He wasn't trying to blow open the Locket or insisting Fodlan needs to end its isolationist policies, he specifically wants to pave the way for cultural exchange and understanding so that the Locket isn't necessary anymore. It's the racism that he's always wanted to tackle first and foremost -- such that he didn't realize some of the other social issues going on in Almyra, such as the lack of support for orphans and other vulnerable groups, something he thanks Cyril for opening his eyes to in their B Support in Three Houses.
I still stand by the notion that Claude got bodyswapped with an Agarthan. All the murder makes a lot more sense in that context.

Well you could CALL castle & ask his permission... say "hey I want to sleep with him but I LOVE you & I want your permission, because I respect you & if you say no then I will not" & that might actually be the thing to drive castle to say yes bc she trusts him & loves him & will always come back to him even if she sleeps with this guy. & also castle would be able to say she slept with eric vaughn & still chose me
He dead?
Castle <3 lol she's right KB: Yeah, preferably one without windows that snipers can't shoot through.
KR: Hey Beckett, I hate to do this to you, but I need to take your statement. *taps his notebook* Beckett could have said "actually if he was there I must have been a bit farther back" also it's cool how dever gets to wear his wedding ring (with duplicates of it) on camera bc his character is canonically married. & ryan's wife's actress is married to ryan's actor. Cool af. KR: Right … (he moves to where she gestures) … here. *He looks up and realizes he’s right in BECKETT’S space. He backs up a bit and looks to the hole in the window.* *almost clocks her in the jaw* stumbled you say. ryan taking it down as if he believes her yk rly sus, eats the wrong food, stumbles at the shot, sounds like he knew what was going on. KB: He kissed me castle KR: I'M DONE HERE *leaves*
RC: Well, if he kissed you, why wouldn’t you just push him away? KB: RC: Oh. Which is why he’s not dead.
She's from a farming family? She's a lead researcher. I'm proud of her. Why else would he want toxin? Oh. nvm. rival lab. AFTER the drop? No deposit fee? I would say "one quarter now to know you're good, I give you what you want, the remainder after" or smth.
Going on a tour! WAIT WHAT? HE AUTHORIZED IT? mexicali? she believes him too much girl that's exactly how they make money.
RC: Oh Beckett. That’s what they said about Bernie Madoff. Like Madoff, it’s quite possible Vaughn’s entire empire is a house of cards. If Felder was going to visit MexiSolar he would have found out about the scam. The house of cards would collapse. Eric Vaughn couldn’t have that. And what better way to get away with murder than to make yourself look to be the intended target? Don’t you see? This entire thing is a charade.
RC: Of all the confessions over all the years, this one is going to hold a special place in my heart. the universe demands why not get ryan or esposito?
Right, he doesn't actually look at the things he signs, he doesn't oversee the day-to-day... that's how you become a billionaire. He would NOT have JUST ONE person overseeing, he would delegate. it's like when you're a chef, if you own the place you don't cook. If you are a manager you don't line cook. You delegate to your test kitchen manager, your individual establishment managers, they delegate to their sous chefs & chefs to parties, there is not (usuall) one person who owns the place & then delegates to a single manager, they would delegate to multiple people who are in charge of different things.
RC: Oops yeah digging your own grave b'y
key word: FEEL LIKE you know them right, new york is way closer to the canadian border than mexico. Ooh the music!
Tell him he's on your last supper list. I like his outfit Do you? *tries to catch him in the elevator*
viddy game & a rose. playstation specifically. HE JUST BROKE THE CORD
Just symbolic
Becks, you can ask him again.
Ok I have an extra 12 minutes. Then I have abt half an hour before I need to go to work. Which is stupid. I need to leave for work an hour & a half before my shift!?!? I mean it is a 45 minute bus ride & I need to be there 15m early to change & iron so that's an hour, but my bus either gets there 5 minutes early (or less) or 35 minutes early. So that's another 15min there, & ofc I need to give myself 15m before I leave just in case. That's more like when I stop doing whatever I'm doing & get ready to go. But I might not be able to get it done in 15m so I need to use these 10 extra minutes right now. I need to put on my binder & make sure I have my bus tickets & stuff. Then I can leave. so it's an hour & a half. ew af.
So I might not get started on the next castle, I might instead try to post some of my drafts & clips so I can get space on my phone.
Pray that I get cut early pls.

Please talk more about Cyril. I strongly agree with you about his honesty. He is an underrated gem and not enough people are talking about him without taking a potshot at Rhea.
Falling ass over teakettle into the fe3h tumblr space has really solidified my opinions on pretty much every character by virtue of the fact that I've taken to combing through the datamine as a way of either corroborating or disproving takes for my own enjoyment/knowledge. Cyril was just . . . There before, but now I look at him and I'm like . . . Cyril you don't even know it but there's one brain cell in this game and it's yours.
What started the path to winning me over is his support with Lysithea :(( I think it's a fan favourite for FE3H-enjoyers, and it's so deserved, and for me it's a favourite because it hits a lot of Cyril's really good points! He wants to do things on his own as best as he's able, in large part because he feels he'll never be able to pay Rhea back for the support she's given him; he has his own obstacles in doing what he wants to do, and struggles to verbalize that no, in fact, he cannot do every little thing by himself just yet; he's kind and he's blunt and he has a heart very much capable of love that's not entwined with adoration and idolization. (His supports with Ashe...Seteth...Petra...He is just so neat. He has such love to give. F u c k .)
And I like that he's realistically jaded considering what happened to him. Not even jaded, I guess--he's just painfully realistic, which is enjoyably contrasting against his young age. Like when he says to Lysithea, "Sure, we live in the same places now, but that's not gonna last forever." Especially after a relatively tame/lighthearted support, I like that little splash of his outlook on life! This is a boy who was forced into being a child soldier; though we're not reminded of that fact like we're reminded of Dimitri's trauma, it's still prevalent in the small ways, and I love that.
And his bluntness makes his compliments fucking gems!! He straight up looks at Lysithea as is like, "I think you're pretty when you smile. I betcha everyone tells you that though, huh?" Like okay king, go off. Shower her with the praise she deserves without a second thought! Honourable mention goes to the way he fucking obliterates Hilda in her supports with him, completely unintentionally. Good for him though; I adore her, but she's got some spots to iron out.
I also really like that he's a little different from the rest of the non-Fódlan-natives in that he fully and completely just has no attachment to Almyra--because sometimes that's just how it is when you're removed, either by yourself or other parties, from the place you were born. It's not his fault he had a shit time; if the child wants to make the most of the life he's been given at Garreg Mach, I think he should be allowed to do that.
What really gets me is like. People like to bash this literal fourteen-year-old who has "small flowers" listed as one of his likes. I mean.
Tumblr media
Come on! He's just a dude! He is just a lad!!
Special mention to this "I work because I work" line in his C-support with Petra. I fucking love this kid.

i think the relationships in attack on titan are so well done. “aot isn’t centered around romance” no, it’s not. but it contributes so much to the characters, which means it does have a huge impact considering aot is a character driven story.
for example:
levi’s relationship with the veterans. especially erwin and hange. erwin showed him the sky, he gave him a bigger purpose. levi didn’t just follow him out of obligation or because he truly believed in the Survey Corps’ cause, but because he believed in erwin. it’s because of erwin that levi was able to join the military, to see the surface, to be able to help others. without the both of them working together, the survey corps would’ve been done for. levi’s strength, erwin’s intelligence, and hange’s ambition and curiosity, they fully embodied what the survey corps stood for.
hange and levi being so different but still caring so much about each other. they lost everyone, their squads, erwin. they were completely alone with such a huge burden on their shoulders, the grief of losing erwin still there. but they gave each other hope time and time again. even though hange believed they could never do what erwin could, even though they had such a hard time with their role as commander, levi was always there to give them a push (even though they continued on with their own strength) in the right direction, to remind hange about the reason for their fight.
ymir and historia could relate to each other, both of them were forced to prioritize the happiness of others over themselves time and time again. ymir tried so hard to live for herself, to show historia how to do the same. but neither of them could in the end.
sasha was so warm and kind that niccolo learned to humanize the people on Paradis Island. he was always taught to see them as enemies, but the way she appreciated the small things about the world, the way she was so passionate about the same thing as him. he was able to relate to her, he was able to realise how hypocritical he was for ever believing that she could be a devil. sasha inspired change in him. her endless cheer and excitement rubbed off on him. their shared love of food brought two people from opposing nations together.
petra’s unconditional devotion towards levi, her full trust in him. she believed in him the most, the dream that they envisioned (the one levi referenced in his monologue) was the one she saw too, she believed it would happen because of levi. she saw what others couldn’t. and so she was willing to risk her life for him, even though she was scared, she told her father that she would risk her life for levi whenever it was necessary. that devotion of hers lives on in levi, she’s one of the people who motivates him to keep going, to attain the dream that his friends longed for.
reiner’s reason to go on being the kids he had to mentor
zeke loving his parents but never feeling good enough. he only felt proud of himself when mr. ksaver took care of him, he inspired him to move on with his goal for eldian euthanisation. the only parental love he felt was from when he spent time with the one man who wasn’t even his father.
pieck and her squad had such a beautiful, trusting relationship. they were her support in battle, she trusted them with her life.
levi’s relationship with his squad, there’s a scene of him remembering his old squad, vowing to exterminate all of the titans for them. and he has never forgot them, not even when he got his new squad and continued to watch out for them as well. he didn’t want to lose them too.
eren finding happiness in the fact that someone as strong as mikasa believed that eren was important, that he was strong. he had always felt insecure around her and shadowed by her superior strength, but the fact that she admired him for saving her and for HIS own strength was what calmed him down and motivated him to keep on fighting. because of her, he remembered his goal. he wanted to protect his friends, to protect mikasa, not just because he promised his mother but because he loved her.
levi wanting kenny’s approval as a kid and being abandoned by him, yet still loving him nonetheless and wanting his love. kenny taught him everything he knew, everything levi would need to survive. he DID love levi, he cared about him so much, he was his nephew. but he did not feel confident in his own abilities as a father figure, so he left when he knew for sure that levi would be okay. i’m sure he was proud of him considering that he did train him after all.
ymir fritz’ loyalty to king fritz, not out of love but out of obligation, felt like a prison. and it was mikasa’s genuine love for eren that finally gave her the freedom she sought for so long.
there are so many amazing relationships that i didn’t include. but love is a motivation for so many of these characters.
aot may not be a romance show, but there are so many important relationships in this show that had a big impact on the characters. there are so many different types of relationships that can be interpreted in so many ways and can resonate with viewers in so many ways. for a show that isn’t centered around romance, the relationships in this show are so well written.
