Just watched Trolls Band Together...ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!😍😍😍(SPOILERS AHEAD, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oooh, my Harmonia...just got back from watching Trolls Band Together and my GOODNESS!!🤩✨🤩✨🤩Words cannot describe how amazed and engrossed I was into the whole movie!!💖💖💖Was it worth the seven month wait?😗TOTALLY!!😍😍😍It was absolutely fantastic, and I LOVED and enjoyed every single moment of it!!🥰
I was really getting into scenes, got quite a few laughs out of some scenes and was touched the wholesome ones~💕Branch's brothers were just as enjoyable on screen - John Dory still being my fave as he grew throughout the movie (LOVE Rhonda too!😁) Spruce/Bruce is such a lovable family man, Clay was (serious)ly awesome in his scenes and the tender moments between Floyd and Branch really got me...especially with the flashbacks...🥲 It was so great to see Grandma Rosiepuff again, though I do wish there was more feeling shown when her death was mentioned, hopefully the brothers will come to terms with it more in time...and Branch's bunker plan for them all, d'awww...~🥺So he DID build the bunker for all his family...😭 Viva was such an amazing character as well as she adorably bonded with Poppy (ooh, dear King Peppy, I know you were heartbroken at the time but c'mon...😅) and finally braved out of her comfort zone, and Tiny Diamond going through his big boy phase was real cute and funny😂Bridget and King Gristle were great too, it was lovely seeing them again along with the Bergens!😊 I had a feeling Velvet and Veneer were luring BroZone to them, they were such good villains with their goals and personalities but I am glad Floyd got through to Veneer in the end, and he saw the wrong he and his sister were doing, and came clean to everyone. And Crimp was a cutie and deserves better🫂(glad she got a hug from Poppy and stood up to Velvet and Veneer in the end😌) And it was also great to see some of the Snack Pack again too, including Prince D and especially my darling Cooper too, eeeee~!😍💗💗💗He looked so dapper!💝🥰 Speaking of Poppy, she was just as darling as ever~!😚I seriously LOVED her relationship and her undying love for Branch blossom so much here whilst supporting and fangirling for him all the way as they interacted, bless her~😊And that sweet BROPPY KISS!!🤭...🤩I was going 'YES!! FINALLY!!' under my breath, grinning from ear to ear in that moment~💙💖And that moment when I thought he was gonna pop the question during the performance during the end...hehe, maybe another time~😉But I certainly didn't expect *NSYNC to show up in their trollsonas near the end...what a twist!😮
The chase scene and perfect family harmony scene were truly epic and it really shows, it doesn't have to be perfect as long as we're altogether~💞💓All the locations of the brothers were stunning to look at, with Vacay Island and Spruce/Bruce's family, the creepy abandoned Bergen golf course with the Putt-Putt Trolls, and finally Mount Rageous - a whole lot of wonder to take in!💖Walt Dohrn, Gina Shay and the DreamWorks Animation Crew did such an fantastic job on everything!✨🌟✨And that huge BroZone hug...again, d'aaaaww~!😭
As for the songs...I'll be downloading the rest of the album now because they were all wonderful to listen to!🎧🎶Real boyband and 90's nostalgia~✨I know they're gonna be stick in my head for a long time, hehe!😆I have so many faves, especially all versions of 'Better Place'~😚
A greatly HUGE thank-you in a million to everyone Trolls for such a fantastic movie, which I wonderfully enjoyed all the way through, from start to finish!🌟👏👏👏🌟AAAHH!!💓💗💓I JUST LOVED IT ALL!! 😍🤩😍I give it a solid 9.5 out of 10!!😊👍✨Totally made my weekend~!🫶🥰

Best Underrated Shows
Saving Me
Tumblr media
Saving Me is about a lonely old guy who invents a time machine so he can go back to his child self and fix all his past mistakes. I learned about this show from this video titled Watch THIS instead of Hailey's On It by M!n!mal M!ss Art. Despite this video, I was still very excited to watch Hailey's On It. It seemed like a story with a cool premise and cute art style (and ultimately I do really like the show) But Hailey's On It wasn't gonna be out for weeks when I came across this video and this video really sold me on giving Saving Me a try. I never would have even heard of this show without that youtube video which would have been a real shame because Saving Me is fantastic! I hope this show reaches more people and I'm dying for a season 3!!!!!
House of Anubis
Tumblr media
Mystery is my favorite genre and House of Anubis is chuck full of it. I used to be obsessed with this show back in high school. I had so much fun coming up with theories and live-blogging my thoughts and opinions about each new episode. Some of the acting & dialogue could be a little cringe sometimes but the story is just so good that it doesn't matter. I've heard that Het Huis Anubis (the Dutch version of the show that House of Anubis is based on) is even better, though I haven't gotten around to watching it yet.
Over the Garden Wall
Tumblr media
Those of us who have seen Over the Garden Wall seem to agree that this show is amazing! Which makes it feel a little weird to call it underrated. But it seems like so few people have actually seen it. Maybe because it was a mini series, it couldn't reach the same level of popularity as other shows of similar quality. If you like Gravity Falls, you'll likely enjoy Over the Garden Wall as well. (Wirt is even voiced by the same guy who voiced Dipper!) I would highly recommend anyone that hasn't seen it already.
Dead End: Paranormal Park
Tumblr media
I feel like it's pretty rare for animated series to exist in the horror genre for some reason. It truly is an untapped market. But if you love horror and animation, Dead End is the show for you! (Of course it's kid friendly horror since the target audience is children) The two main characters, Barney and Norma get jobs at a haunted park and work together to fight ghosts and demons. Dead End has a super cute animation style, in my opinion, and a very diverse set of characters. I encourage everyone to watch it!
Just Add Magic
Tumblr media
Just Add Magic is based on a children's book by the same name. It's a show about three girls who love to cook and basically discover that they can use cooking to do magic. It's a pretty interesting take on how magic works in their universe. It's very fun to watch. All of the actors are also so talented! And one of those actors is Zach Callison (the voice of Steven Universe)!
The friendship between the trio is awe-inspiring! They have so much chemistry. It's a pretty fun watch.
The Last Kids On Earth
Tumblr media
Based on a comic of the same name, this show is about a group of kids who have to survive on their own when a zombie apocalypse breaks out. And other various creatures start to threaten them (or even become their allies) It's basically a cute found family story. The premise is pretty simplistic but that's what I love about it. The animation style of The Last Kids On Earth is so beautiful as well!
I'm still waiting for a season 3!!!!!
Code Lyoko
Tumblr media
I remember as a kid being aware of this show and thinking it looked kind of interesting (and I always loved the theme song!!) but I never ended up watching it back then because I let peer pressure get the better of me. I remember I met someone who brought up how much they loved the show. When I heard them express that interest, I was at first excited to ask them more but before I had the chance, everyone else started making fun of him for liking Code Lyoko.
I guess it was like the nerd show or something? I don't really know why it was considered cringe to like Code Lyoko but upon seeing my peers act this way, I decided I can't like Code Lyoko if I want to fit in. So, I avoided watching it. But earlier this year, when I was flipping through channels, they were showing old episodes of Code Lyoko! I was intrigued since I remembered it from childhood and thought I'd actually give it a chance this time. And it's actually a pretty good show! It can be slow at times but overall I enjoy it.
If you're like me and avoided watching this back then due to peer pressure, I highly recommend leaving that in the past and just letting yourself enjoy this show!!
Slugterra
Tumblr media
Slugterra is honestly pretty similar to Pokemon, except it's slugs! And the entire series takes place underground. Basically, there's a whole underground world called Slugterra, home to slugs, trolls, moles, etc. And all the slugs have cool powers so the people collect & befriend slugs so they can use them as weapons ("slugslinging"). If you like Pokemon, you're sure to like Slugterra!
Detentionaire
Tumblr media
I discovered Detentionaire randomly while I was searching through Amazon's library of cartoons. I was looking for a new show to watch and just stumbled upon this one. It looked pretty interesting and I was surprised to see it was a show from 2011. I don't know how I missed this show back then. Idk if maybe it only aired in Canada or something? (cuz it's a Canadian show) But anyways, Detentionaire is such an intriguing show where the main character, Lee, discovers some grand conspiracy and has to try to expose it to prove his innocence so he can get out of detention. It's such an interesting concept. And, as I mentioned earlier, mystery is my favor genre, so I had a lot of fun with this one.
The only problem though is, of course, it ends on a cliffhanger. The show got canceled before they had the chance to conclude the story in a satisfying way (or any type of way) so watch at your own risk.
Catscratch
Tumblr media
I honestly don't even remember what this show was about but I do remember enjoying this show and being excited when I saw a new episode was out. I remember thinking it was so funny. I just don't think enough people know about this show.

Dungeon Meshi Anime Review, Season 2, Episode 14 review
This is technically the second cour of Dungeon Meshi, with a new opening and ending so we've made it to season 2, baby!
Happy Kabru day! I think Trigger did a great job with this so I don't have a lot to talk about.
Spoilers below!
The new OP is really nicely animated and very sweet, but I don't really like it. I think the song isn't as good as the first OP and the visuals just don't really excite or interest me the way the first OP did. It's cute though! I think it would have made a great ending...
The ending is wonderful like before, with more beautiful illustrations. Are these also by Kui? Will we get Kui illustrations for every ending? That would be so fantastic! I like this song better than the new OP song...
What the hell are Fleki and Lycion laughing at in the ending. Just pointing and laughing at a water fountain...
There my darling lad Kabru goes, killing again! Good for him.
Animated very nicely, conveys just how fast and lethal Kabru is against human opponents. I hope that anime onlies are now worrying about Laios and his party! That's what they should be worrying about!
Love that they managed to capture Kui's insanely wonderful fight choreography, Kabru switching targets last second after doing a fake-out, and then stealing one person's sword to use it to kill two other people... He's so slick, and Trigger captured it so well.
Tumblr media
Sadly no improvements (extra clarity) was added to any of the talking scenes in this ep that start to explain Kabru and his party's motivations. I didn't expect them to change anything though, so it's still as good as it was in the manga, which is still pretty damn good... But would have been nice to have someone tighten up the dialog and make it flow more like human conversation.
Characters sitting around and talking about stuff that isn't monster biology or cooking is probably Kui's greatest weak points as an author, and I don't blame her at all, but it's the one blind spot she could use a liiiiiiittle extra help with. At least in the first half of the manga. Towards the end she gets way better at it. Practice does that to you!
EDIT: Trigger made Holm eat meat!!! He's a religious vegetarian!!!! Oops.
SO.... english dub issues.
The cast is still generally great and the dub script is generally superior to the Japanese subtitles, though it seems like the Japanese subs might be getting better? Or this episode was unusually bad in English so the Japanese subs seemed better.
Kabru's voice in English...
The thing about Kabru's character is that he changes how he talks and acts depending on who he's talking to. The Japanese version does this relatively well.
It's mostly about the pitch of Kabru's voice and how sweet his tone is. He's trying to make himself sound non-threatening, polite, and friendly. And then when he's not doing that, he sounds more stern and mature, talking in a deeper pitch without being so self-effacing.
The English version... is struggling a bit with this.
In the other episodes it sounded alright, but in this episode Kabru's voice actor, for whatever reason, seemed to be mumbling/slurring his words, not enunciating, and cutting off and shortening his words, shoulda, woulda, kinda, and talking in a more "relaxed" and informal manner
This isn't inherently a problem, but since nobody else in the anime so far talks like this, what does this style of speaking signify? Why is Kabru talking like this for this entire episode?
Is it because Kabru's from the West? Do all the people in the West talk that way? Will the elves talk like that?
Since they didn't match Zon and Leed's way of speaking to each other I doubt they'll follow through with this...
If it's meant to make Kabru sound "tough", why does Kabru do it the entire episode and not just with the corpse retrievers? Why does he keep talking that way while talking to his friends?
Even if sounding "tough" is what he's trying to accomplish, Kabru wasn't really being tough in those scenes, he was being tricky and conniving... And then with his friends he was being curious and solving a mystery.
It's not the worst performance I've ever heard, but it's a change/addition with no basis in the original version, so as with Leed and Zon, I'm left wondering "why are you doing this? What are you trying to tell us about the characters?"
I'll have to go back and listen to Kabru's earlier appearances to see if he sounds the same in those, but I really don't remember him talking this way before...

The new episode was fantastic!! I absolutely loved it. I'm not a huge fan of musicals, but I really enjoyed this. Especially Ozzie and Fizz's song. Mammon was a very interesting character. Him threatening Ozzie and then just being like...well...shit, when he said the "secret" anyways was hilarious. Ozzie absolutely hating Mammon's guts was awesome. He would know better than most how the other sins operate. That crazy stalker guy was disturbing, and I was so happy when Blitz blew his head off. Speaking of Blitz, he was great this episode. His short but friendly moments with Ozzie were nice. And he was genuinely trying to support Fizz, in his own way.
And I'm gonna rant about Ozzie and Fizz for a minute here. They. Are. So. Damn. Cute! Ozzie the entire episode was like, "Babe talk to me. I see you're struggling, let me love you." And it was great. Hearing them say "I love you" to each other was amazing. I adore how protective and caring Ozzie is to Fizz. Fizz's breakdown was heartbreaking, but Ozzie comforting him and telling him that win or lose he'll always be there was just beautiful. And bringing up Ozzie telling everyone he loves Fizz again, I loved how nobody was shocked. The crowd was cheering and saying "I knew it, I knew it!" That was the best. Even if Mammon says Ozzie will regret it. And the snuggles on stage and in the car after they left, so adorable. These two have probably dethroned Moxxie and Millie as Hell's sweetest couple.
Just look at the way he looks at Fizz. True love.
Tumblr media
Also, shout out to whoever had the idea to make Fizz know sign language and interact with a cute kid, because that was genius and I will never get over it.
Those twins were really cool looking. They're obviously from the envy ring, which might give us a hint that we'll see that ring soon, but I don't really know.
Fizz having a crisis about still being good enough to stay on top after so many years was honestly really interesting to see. Because of the status he got from being Mammon's brand face, he was able to meet Ozzie and have a good life he wouldn't have been able to otherwise. The animation of the panic attacks was ironically beautiful. Showing how much stress Fizz was under and how it was taking a very serious toll on him.
I do worry about what might happen now that Ozzie and Fizz are officially out in the open so to speak. Fizz definitely seemed scared or at least nervous when Ozzie admitted to them being together. Which makes sense since the media will likely go after Fizz more than Ozzie because of his status. We already saw that in the newspaper from episode 6, when Fizz was called a gold digger and only after sex and money from Ozzie, which isn't true. With the money Fizz made as Mammon's brand face he was more than capable of living comfortably on his own. I feel like this might lead to a fight between them. Not a break up, but definitely a bigger fight than they've probably had before. But I can see it ending with Ozzie apologizing for blurting it out in the heat of the moment and not thinking about how Fizz could be affected. I believe that Ozzie will listen to Fizz's concerns and do his best to make things right, though it might be too late to change anything, they'll make it through.
Very excited to see what happens next.

𖣠 pairing ; drummer! bakugo katsuki x reader
𖣠 sypnosis ; wake up, make breakfast for you, and head out the door for about two hours to practice as the drummer for his band. usual mornings would start like this for katsuki bakugo, but today he wanted to bring you with him to the studio in hopes of showing you something he’d been working on. something he’d been composing specifically for you.
𖣠 warnings ; cursing, sexual jokes, suggestive ending, my writing hypnotized by domestic katsuki
𖣠 notes ; this is written for @kentoangel’s fantastic collab, also i’d reccomend listening to dlwlrma by IU while you read this, it’s a fun song.
Tumblr media
usual mornings would start like this. katsuki was already awake, the smell of whatever breakfast he was cooking wafting into the shared bedroom with a delicious tinge. whatever it was had to be delicious, it was a given since your chef of a husband was making it. unlike you, who didn’t even touch the stove and the house nearly burst into flames.
he’d then trudge to the bedroom, leaning down to land soft kisses along your jaw. a soft side of katsuki you cherished beyond belief.
“mmm.. kats’ki too early..” you’d whine, body flailing around in the sheets like a struggling grub. to which he’d remind you your food was getting cold despite you knowing he’d reheat it before heading out to practice.
whereas this lucky morning katsuki poked at your cheeks, climbing beside you to peer at that sleepy expression he adored. so kissable. so cute.
“you’re not going to practice this morning?” you ask, voice sounding soft due to your face being pressed to the comfy pillow beneath you. “‘wanna take you with me..” he hummed, stunning crimson orbs observing those curious eyes.
he didn’t want to leave you alone today. no, he didn’t want to leave you alone ever.
he seemed to get the hint as your hands tangled with his, clumsily rising to your feet. but before your unsteady figure got the opportunity to stumble, you were swept off your feet by none other than the notorious blond.
“yah! kat what the hell!” the bewildered scolding earned a cocky grin from the one responsible. “what? can’t have my pretty baby falling and hurting herself.” that stupid face of his soaking in his charm’s impact on you. he knew you couldn’t fight back when he said it like that.
though instead of digging deeper in the wound he placed a plate loaded with bacon, eggs, and pancakes in front of you while slipping into a chair of his own across the table. pride settled in his chest at you noticeably enjoying it, watching you shovel the breakfast down like a starved animal.
yet the thrum of his fingers to the wooden table pulled you from your food-heaven, brows lifted.
“new song?” your question answered with a nod, his unusually quiet however audible voice tuning along to whatever rhythm he created with his fingers.
pushing the chair in, he surveyed you abandoning your dish in the sink. “ready to go? i’m planning on composing something so you can around with the drums. even though we could just stay here and make our own music.” your squeal of shock added to his smugness, jerking his head as an usher to follow. you did so, but not without rolling your eyes first.
“seriously, we could just stay here and-“later.” you quickly interjected, clearing your throat in the process. bakugo glanced you up and down, tilting his head to leave a surprise kiss dancing on your lips. it was hard to ever be satisfied when it came down to your husband, he just was so.. addicting.
nevertheless, the onslaught of thoughts clouding your head came to a halt upon realizing you’d arrived at the studio. yes, you’d been here many times—but it remained as impressive as before. clean and comfortable, showing off katsuki’s hygiene aspects.
he sauntered to the stool, checking that everything was intact. “c’mere.” he beckoned, patting his lap expectantly. you couldn't help but narrow your eyes at how mischievous his request sounded, yet you agreed. but when he reached over to grasp his drumsticks, a question perked your mind.
“didn’t you say you were composing something? wouldn’t you be writing lyrics then?” a stifled chuckle was the man’s response, warm hands sneaking to squeeze at your hips. “composing includes playing sweetheart. and this one’s for you.” the last part slightly mumbled.
“for me?” — “listen and tell me what you think.” he allowed you to hold onto his neck to keep balance, flooring you by how even his warm-up sounded incredible. it’d been a while since you’d heard him play. you missed this.
the beginning began slowly with a hushed thrumming beat; resembling what he’d been tapping on your dining table before coming here. as the piece progressed, there were passionate moments ( as if katsuki was anything but passionate ) where the blond would have you holding on tight then transition to slow and time-consuming. and as the finale drew, you brushed a few strands of stray locks from his forehead. giving a doting look to the sweat-dappled drummer.
as his breathing steadied, you tilted your head in disbelief. “this was for me?” you smiled, earning a grunt of acknowledgment. your absence alerted him as you retreated from his lap to retrieve a towel and wipe his face.
precious. he cursed to himself, marveling at how he’d been so lucky to have you all to himself. dealing with his long practices day after day. you were too much.
“here, this is for- katsuki..?” you gawked, finding yourself being held down on the couch—none other than your husband studying you with a gaze you couldn’t read.
“uh what are you-“after i made music for you, don’t you think it’s fair that you make music for me?” his kisses trailing down to places only kissed in the bedroom told you exactly what he was suggesting.
nonetheless, katsuki could agree he enjoyed your music much better.

okay......anime. I'm sending a lot because I'm not entirely sure what you like? perhaps none of these? please ignore it as needed haha I am mainly getting it out of my system.
SERIOUS FARE - drama, action, adrenaline, feelings
Cowboy Bebop (1 Season, Complete) - slick, gritty, moody, jazzy, impeccably animated. neo-noir space-western about a crew of oddballs on a little spaceship just trying to get by. sometimes goofy, sometimes sad, always a favorite.
Chainsaw Man (1 Season So Far) - an impoverished, immature young man whose dreams include "eating some nice food" and "touching a girl" finds himself swept up in a career that allows him to do both those things and more, to varying degrees of satisfaction. also he can turn his body into chainsaws. it's coming-of-age it's horror it's action it's more found family it's good.
Violet Evergarden (1 Season, Complete) - some controversial choices were made for the adjacent movie, but the show is so good even standing alone. a traumatized child soldier slowly reconnects with her emotions by writing letters for other people. that's basically the whole story. made me cry a lot.
THE FUNNY PAGES - for when you need a laugh!
Spy x Family (1 Season, 2nd Incoming) - a delightful situational comedy set in Definitely Not Cold War Germany about a spy, his cover wife whom he does not know is an assassin, and his adopted daughter whom he does not know is a psychic. featuring moments of genuinely compelling found family connection.
Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun (1 Season, Complete) - a girl summons the courage to confess to her crush. a series of misunderstandings ensues and doesn't stop ensuing. more mistaken identity goofiness, a cast full of charming dumbasses, and some insights into life as a manga artist. also another bangin theme song.
TOASTY'S TOP 3 - my absolute favorites
Vinland Saga (2 Seasons, 3rd Seemingly Confirmed) - you follow me so you are probably at least aware of this and whether it looks like something you'd enjoy but I have to include it. a viking-era tale of trauma, war, revenge, redemption, masculinity, religion, politics, philosophy, and more! season one is the prologue, where the antagonist is (imo) the secret main character. season two answers the unmitigated violence of season one with the povs of normal working people who end up as collateral damage, and also pays off one of season one's earliest setups in a huge fantastic way imo. it's idealistic without ever failing to acknowledge the pain that comes when idealism meets reality. I love it.
Run With the Wind (2 Seasons, Complete) - there aren't a whole lot of sports anime for older audiences, but this is one of them and I rewatch it on a yearly basis. you have to kind of slow yourself down for it--most shonen sports anime are brisk, high-octane fun-times, but this one (a college-age series about the most Underdog of Underdog Track Teams) really takes its time building up the characters and environment, and chemistry between the dual opposites-attract leads is so heartwrenchingly beautiful. they complete each other! they love each other! what does it mean to run? why do we run even if we know we can't win?! the answers to these things are found within each other!!
Mob Psycho 100 (3 Seasons, Complete) -slapstick, drama, mindblowing action scenes--this is another one that needs a little time to start showing you what it is, but there's so much heart in this dang show. a hymn to all things mundane and ordinary, a rumination on the dangers of suppressing one's emotions, a story about a middle schooler who tries not to use his Unlimited Psychic Powers and a fraud exorcist who pretends to have powers but doesn't. absolutely worth the watch.
BONUS LIGHTNING ROUND
Shirobako (a stressfully/excellently accurate anime about the anime industry, the only cute-girls-doing-cute-things show I like), Keep Your Hands off Eizouken (weird girls making amateur anime in high school), Blue Period (for if you want to have an existential crisis about ART), Kaiji (Squid Game before Squid Game), The Great Pretenders (Robin Hood-ass confidence artists pulling off HEISTS), Haikyuu (my favorite younger-audiences sports anime, get hype for VOLLEYBALL), Beastars (the Furry One, gorgeous 3d animation, dark and weird and wild), and Neon Genesis Evangelion (surreal horror sci-fi/fantasy, "mechs" vs. apocalyptic "angels", I haven't seen it but it's a standard and also I've been told not to watch it while depressed)
ANYWAY thanks for receiving this absolute infodump, do what you will with it!!
Tumblr media
okay but honestly i didn't know cowboy bebop was one and done, i can commit to that

So I got asked by @fangomango what some of my favorite end credits scenes are (it was on my main Shadowbanned blog, though, so Tumblr is rude and won't let me answer it there ;-;) but yes, I am so excited to answer this question, because I've wanted to make a full post on my favorite end credits scenes ever since I asked @drawthethingdoppelganger about her favorite end credits scenes:
--One of my all-time favorites is Candy Cane Moose because it's so flipping catchy somehow despite only consisting of a few lyrics that are repeated over and over. Also, seeing the Belcher kids are lil' babies makes me 🥺 I actually screamed when I saw this one for the first time because I was not prepared for the cuteness:
--Of course, I also love Pesto in My Pants, because Bob and Tina's dancing is glorious, and it's just so iconic:
youtube
--99 Red Balloons is hilarious, I adore the animation in it as everyone is pelted with water balloons:
youtube
--Turkey, I Need You Beside Me makes me sob because it makes me think of my dad 😭 And Bob and Gene are just so cute in it, I can't:
youtube
--You Make Plumbing Fun makes me feel so 🥹 IT'S JUST SO ADORABLE, CAN YOU HEAR THE ADORATION IN THEIR VOICES AS THEY SING?? (And Gene's lil' dancing is the most precious thing):
youtube
--I love Beyond the Sea as a song, but Larry Murphy's cover of it as Teddy is fantastic. He's actually a really talented singer! And the visuals for this one are so much fun:
youtube
--God, I love I Love U So Much (It's Scary) so much. It's so wholesome seeing the family singing and dancing together and eventually getting Bob to join in as well 🥹. I know I made a post saying that Pesto in My Pants is more iconic, but really, this one still holds a special place in my heart (and that post by far got a ton more notes):
youtube
--The Wonder Wharf two-part Season 4 Finale is one of my favorite episode sets in the entire show and this end credits scene is absolutely fantastic. John Roberts absolutely kills it, and the visuals are *chef's kiss*:
youtube
--I'm choosing Street Life because it's so catchy for some reason?? I also need John Roberts and Larry Murphy to sing together more often:
youtube
--Tina's Spanish Song (I forgot the name) is the most hilarious thing ever, I wheeze uncontrollably every single time I listen to it and remember it exists. It's the end credits of the episode where Gene has a ukelele that he never uses again, and the episode where Gayle and Mr. Frond get together:
youtube
--Twinkly Lights is such an absolute banger, and I adore the message about diversity in it! It's incredible: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TpZHJvpMWo&list=PL_c9X60eyied1UKYCo48cNW25KXFWgres&index=97
--The TSA Musical outro is so cute, and Gene's lil' bouncing 🥺: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyTzxGnOJ9g&list=PL_c9X60eyied1UKYCo48cNW25KXFWgres&index=102
--Best Couple Friends is so addictive ("Like Heroin? :O" "YES SON, LIKE HEROIN >:D") and it's just so much fun. And it's a Boblin end credits scene!! What more could I ask for?: https://youtu.be/_mOc3oS5fcw?si=O81ioknHi3LByfIy
--The Burobu end credits song is way too catchy, I adore it as someone who was really into Pokémon at one point: https://youtu.be/lsJ4hQQoh-k?si=Qis-ASt8aQgDq4YS
--The Right Number of Boys is awesome. It's so cute and catchy, and Tina's lil' dancing at "How 'bout seven?" is adorable: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TIqEiJ2qFU
--Doot Doot Doot (Means I Love You) was the first ever piece of Bob's Burgers media I ever consumed, and I fell in love fast. Yes, this outro was the one that got me into the show in the first place: https://youtu.be/kbAYu-0JdHw?si=GIaR8QF0HD68DdPu
--It's Halloween is so catchy and funny, and Gene's lil' dancing near the end gets me every time: https://youtu.be/aA37bcLABj8?si=efrPQTTgX0EOW2Wl
--Nun of Your Business is so iconic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdJKiDEnIlM
--Me and My Spider is so catchy and sweet, I can't handle it: https://youtu.be/UDn7ZrKGI38?si=cZwmbTpsFSmZmYuF
--And finally, I have to put in I'll Be Around because I wanted to make sure to include a Mr. Fischoeder song. It's so good. And it has Boblin dancing!!: https://youtu.be/ep0Hyw9Ajeg?si=nNOeZVxRYXmjYRqO
Okay, this ended up being way too long, but I just have a ton of outros I adore!! I know there are some that I wasn't able to include, because there are just that many good ones. Do yourself a favor and listen to all of these. Oh, you have?
Listen to 'em again.
Okay, I have so many on this list, but if I had to pick an all-time, absolute favorite??
I really can't.
But it might be either Candy Cane Moose, You Make Plumbing Fun, or The Right Number of Boys.

i know no one will see this but here are my thoughts about sweeney todd on broadway
(side note: this was my first time seeing the show fully. i knew the story and characters but i had never seen it all the way through)
1. the stage, i was seated on the right orchestra and i could see perfectly. in photos it doesn’t look that way but the stage is really close to the audience. i would recommend sitting in orchestra. the front mezzanine also looked like a good view, i wouldn’t be able to say if it was though.
2. the set was very simplistic which i think fully works for this production. this show focuses a lot on lighting which was so mesmerizing. (theres a reason they won that tony) i’m not an expert on broadway sets and such so i don’t have a lot to say but every set piece is very expertly made and executed.
3. every actor and actress fully embraced their role and did the absolute most with it in the best way possible. the cast really seems like they have fun with their roles. when i was there their was an understudy for the begger woman, mia pinero, and she was absolutely fantastic.
4. the music is incredible. i don’t think i have to convince anyone that anything that stephen sondheim has composed is amazing. most of the songs don’t have big choreography or sets or props or whatever because the actors and actresses are so captivating on their own. it takes so much talent to be able to entertain an audience just on your own and this company just absolutely blows it out of the park. every song was perfectly executed and played out. i’ll talk about my favorite performances by josh groban, annaleigh ashford, gaten matarazzo, daniel yearwood, and more in their own paragraphs.
5.josh groban as sweeney todd- i’ve seen many people say that josh isn’t a good actor/ he doesn’t much emotion when he sings and fully completely 100% DISAGREE. josh is incredible and soo captivating. he’s was a little more animated at times then i was expecting but that doesn’t bother me at all. i truly believe that he was born to play this role. he’s very intimidating as the character (best way i can describe it) in a way i’ve never seen. i always get worried i won’t like the singing in live musicals cause it won’t sound like the soundtrack but josh’s voice is incredible. i love his baritone it’s so unsettling yet soothing which i have no idea is possible. his voice is just so nice to listen to. the way they staged the song epiphany was not how i was expecting but i still absolutely loved it. it didn’t big bold action or lighting or whatever cause josh groban is enough to make the scene just so incredible. i loved his chemistry with annaleigh ashford, they were (despite the murder and cannibalism) so adorable together.
6. annaleigh ashford as mrs. lovett- was her accent cockney? no. was she hard to understand at times? yes. did i mind? absolutely not. they were literal 30 second laugh breaks and chears whenever she was on stage. i honestly can’t even describe how amazing and funny she was. she IS the sondheim it girl. i think she was also born to play this role. she is so ridiculously funny. easily the best performance of the show. with the song by the sea it was literally just them sitting on chairs on stage and yet it was probably one of the best performances. again, the chemistry they have. it takes a lot of talent to make two murderers cute and somehow they do it effortlessly. again again again, annaleigh ashford is incredible.
7. gaten matarazzo as tobias ragg- i get that this so very much stunt casting but gaten is truly great. he’s an incredible actor and singer and you can tell he really loves performing on stage. the relationship between lovatt and toby is so adorable and annaleigh and gaten really make it. gaten really embraces this role and again does the most with it. the ending i was not expecting and gaten really makes it so unsettling and sad.
8. daniel yearwood as anthony- as you know jordan fisher did leave the production sadly but daniel is amazing. i know i’m just repeating the same thing for each person but truly he is great. he’s an amazing singer and really captures the emotion in each scene.
9. maria bilbao as johanna- again just incredible. her singing was mesmerizing and beautiful. i though she was great. i wouldn’t say that she does anything mind blowing but that’s not a bad thing! i loved her i’m just trying not to repeat the same mantra for each character/ actor
10. mia pinero as begger woman- like i said she was an understudy. i think this was her first time performing this role but she was great. she was also very very sweet! i saw her at stagedoor and she talked to a lot of people but she was just so nice and i loved her so much.
11. i’ll condense this and just say that all the actors/actresses were incredible. i wouldn’t say that any person in the company wasn’t good or wasn’t as good as everyone else. the ensemble was just as captivating and mesmerizing as the main characters. at no point in the show was i ever bored.
12. stage door- i was standing directly in front of the stage door behind a few people. only three people came out- josh groban, mia pinero, and jamie jackson (judge turpin) all were very nice and i got all their signatures! for josh and jamie a very nice woman held up my playbill for them to sign and i was able to give mia the playbill myself and told her how incredible she was! i was next to three girls, two were in their twenties and one i assumed was in her thirties since she mentioned having a son. they were all very nice and i talked with them throughout the stagedoor. however behind was a young boy who would not shut up about gaten lol. i’m not trying to complain about him since he obviously didn’t know stage door etiquette but he kept holding his phone above my head and he got really mad at my sister for trying to stand next to me. he was really annoying and everyone around seemed to agree. besides that all the people at the stage door were very very nice and i’m very grateful cause this was also my first stage door
Overall! this show was incredible and i wish i could just sit and watch it over and over again. i’m very glad and lucky i was able to go. i would absolutely recommend any go if they can. being in times square is kinda annoying but the experience is worth it. that’s all! thanks to anyone who read this lol.

My Thoughts on the Swordsmith Village Movie!
Alright y’all, this goes without saying, but I’ll announce it anyway:
SPOILER WARNING FOR THE KNY MOVIE. IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED, DO NOT PROCEED. DO NOT PASS GO. DO NOT COLLECT 200 DOLLARS.
Anyway. Now that that’s said and done, let’s begin! Here are my favorite parts, in no particular order.
-GOTOU. GOTOU THE KAKUSHI. He’s always been my favorite background character; he only shows up a few times but somehow he is around SO MUCH for the key events in Tanjiro’s journey. His abdominal breathing to scream for the butterfly girls was fantastic because a) abdominal breathing really is effective to project, from a vocalist’s standpoint, and b) it goes to show that even if he can’t wield a sword or use a breath technique, he still understands the importance of proper breath support! Good for you, Gotou-san!
-My theater’s audience laughed the most at Inosuke hanging from the ceiling. That was a hit. I already knew it was gonna happen but I was laughing too because I was just so giddy!! They also really enjoyed the scenes of Tengen’s wives arguing while he’s dying of poisoning. A classic.
-ZENITSU IN HIS LITTLE SCARF. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR.
-But seriously, I enjoyed the scene of Zenitsu with the other slayers and Gotou with his Kakushi friend. It gives us a rare glimpse into daily corps life when one is not fighting extremely important battles against upper moons.
-They recapped bits from the previous episode in the beginning of the swordsmith village arc, so we got to watch poor Kagaya choking and gagging on his own blood TWICE, BACK TO BACK. Which, as much as I love him dearly and felt awful for him, it was kinda funny. Side-note, Amane is a GOAT for sticking with him and taking care of him during all of this. She’s a queen through and through.
-Mitsuri. Oh, Mitsuri, the love of my life. I want to kiss her little face. Her voice actor is so wonderful!! Watching her play with Nezuko and easily pick her up and hold her hand was so heartwarming!! Her little song about dinner made my heart sing too!! The little sparkle edits whenever she got excited!! Mitsuri-chan, please be my wife. Just, uh, don’t tell Obanai.
-Also, the hot spring scene?? Hello?? I had seen the leaks, but they didn’t do it justice. I was not expecting them to fully show her entire butt. With both cheeks. I was gripping the seat for dear life so I didn’t screech out loud. Ufotable really went for it with the Mitsuri fanservice, and as much as my feminist side wants to disagree with this, I am unfortunately too gay to care. I shamelessly enjoyed every second of it.
-Speaking of hot springs, the crow noise that Tanjiro made when he jumped in took me OUT. And baby Nezuko swimming by was SO CUTE I CAN’T TAKE IT. UGH.
-AND ALSO: GENYA!! I LOVE GENYA!! I’m so so excited to see more of him! The talk Tanjiro and Mitsuri had about his relationship with Sanemi made me sad, but then them worrying about him not eating enough and going to bring him some rice balls made it okay again.
-Speaking of which… why was Genya skipping his meals? Was he just avoiding Tanjiro and Mitsuri? Did he bring his own food like they hypothesized? Was his tummy messed up from eating demon, like Gyoumei always worried it would be? Seeing as he still had fangs, it had probably happened recently, and if demons can’t eat human food…am I over analyzing? I think I’m over analyzing.
-The snapping of Gyutaro breaking Tanjiro’s fingers in surround sound made the woman next to me physically recoil. Girl, same. Shit was nasty.
-NEZUKO SLITHERING AROUND UNDER THE TABLE LMAOO
-The little tease of Muichiro at the end. Come on man, I want MORE!! DON’T DO THIS TO ME!!
-The entire upper moon meeting. Wow. The animation was insane. Good lord, the infinity castle was wonderfully confusing! It was a little overwhelming with all the flashes and transitions, but it helped that Akaza was in just as much of a state of sensory overload as the rest of us. Man did NOT want Douma touching him on top of everything else that was rubbing his temper the wrong way, and Douma could not have given less of a damn. But wow, did they make Douma such a funny little dude!! Crawling all over the floor and flashing peace signs and such. How wonderful. The scene of Nakime immediately shutting him down was glorious.
-Not sure if I’m the hugest fan of the way they just. Blipped out? I guess I always imagined Nakime would make them doors to go in and out of the infinity castle, so it felt a liiiiittle underwhelming. But, of course, that’s just me.
-Akaza falling was sick as hell. I just know he thought he was super cool. Which…yeah, he totally was. What can I say, I love him. Akaza punching off Douma’s face only to immediately get in trouble with Kokushibo? *chef’s kiss*
-But…the credits. They left in all of the credits, which was just a teeny bit awkward. I was just sitting there staring at them (I cannot read Japanese and I saw it subbed) and anxious out of my MIND to see swordsmith village! (Which, the village itself looked gorgeous, by the way!) Still, I think it was absolutely worth the wait.
Overall, it was just such a fun experience!! I’ve never been to a movie on my own before, and I’m so glad this was the first one. It was so, so epic and I enjoyed myself thoroughly! Planning on going to see it again with my sister when she’s back in town. Easy 10/10 for me, because I just adored every moment with every character!! If you haven’t seen it yet, I encourage you to do so! :D

i like lore lets talk vtuber lore lets talk about nijisanji en's new wave haha (this will be like 90% looking at the hold it down / let's get it started lyrics)
so iluna is some magical fantasy school right?? full name iluna institute of mystics
Tumblr media
xsoleil is looking like something similar, xsoleil institue of infinity
Tumblr media
maybe they're rival schools?
---☆
there's the debut songs now that hold it down is out (holy shitgsvhshf meloco's voice) with their contrasting themes
Let's Get It Started:
We only got love, we don't make any enemies
Laughin' having fun everyday makin' memories
So let's hop up on the stage, and let's show them what we came for, and harmonize to this melody, oh yeah
iluna seems chill and fun, like they're kinda just screwing around, making the most of their time here, and inviting the listeners to come enjoy themselves too
the instrumental of the song itself feels like a party or celebration of sorts!
HOLD IT DOWN:
My heart is bleeding from the pain that I put my own self through
There's no need for introductions or greetings, it's old news
I'll admit it, I'll admit it, it was kind of scary
I had to bury all my demons like the mortuary
xsoleil seems more tense, but like an anime character getting power blasted through three buildings and they wipe the blood off their cheek and go "hah... now it's getting good" kind of tense
it's also worth a note that all the xsoleil wave members seem to be part of their school's student council while iluna's members seem to be average students, because...
Hooked top of my class
Hidden gems among treasures
Accumulated these plaques
We wrote a million letters
...they seem to be hard workers (or they do until you see that one doppio tweet about forgetting homework or ver procrastinating lmao), and it feels like they're priding themselves on it in this song
---☆
another thing; both songs seem to value teamwork...
(insert every line about being friends and having each other it's like half the song)
Together the more we get done
Quicker the outcome the sum
but for iluna, it's more of a three-legged race flavor of teamwork...
Don't ever feel lost, we have each other so we're good
while for xsoleil, it's follow the leader
Don't you worry about a thing
Come follow our lead now
xsoleil seems to also have a little more emphasis on being able to do things yourself
I'm solo
Ain't no secrets now
Been on my own
there's also the "nice to meet you" vs "no need for introductions"...
[It's nice to meet you], my dear friend
There's no need for introductions or greetings, it's old news
and the song titles themselves! Getting it started vs holding it down
---☆
putting it all together, it makes me feel like iluna's this fantastical mystical school of destiny hidden away where the students who end up there are magically pulled there in some way to be able to apply if they so choose bc the school just likes their vibes, while xsoleil is this high-stakes school that takes like, a wild shit fuck ton of effort and letters and scholarships and failed applications to get into, and both institutes are prestigious in their own right
---☆
remember the sillies about kyo being an isekai protagonist?
-> kyo kaneko is the anime protagonist at the cute wholesome school iluna and xsoleil is the cool edgy intimidating rival school of badasses that he has to confront with his friends
except...
Tumblr media
i think he already won

hey lumi! I just thought of another question I wanted to ask you, other than batb, which live action remake do you think is the best? I haven't seen any and I want an expert opinion 😄
oh my gosh!!!!! i’m so honored. and i’m also SO autistic so i did so much more here than you asked. but anyway i wanted to wait to answer this until today because the little mermaid (2023) just dropped on disney+ and i JUST watched it for the first time. so i can include it in my list!!
of course prefacing with these are all my personal opinions, im not a film expert (and i pray to God i never am) i just like what i like! so without further ado: my thoughts! also this is just in chronological order, not ranked.
alice in wonderland (2010) - dude!! this was SUCH a hyperfixation for me when i was a kid. somehow, batb 2017 is NOT the first live action disney movie i’ve been utterly obsessed with. this movie is so good. i love the lightly gothic, mysterious fantasy aesthetic that is has. i love the wardrobe, i want to wear every outfit alice wears. i love how dark it is, like there’s such an edge to it while still being pleasant and fun enough to respectably be a disney movie. johnny depp does a fantastic job of course, (purely discussing his acting abilities here) he truly brings the madness into the mad hatter. all the acting is fantastic though. i highly recommend this film. you don’t really need to have seen the 1951 cartoon, i hadn’t, but it doesn’t hurt to! (i don’t recommend the sequel, alice through the looking glass, though. they really should’ve quit while they were ahead on this one)
maleficent (2014) & maleficent: mistress of evil (2019) - i enjoyed both of these!! i actually liked the second one more, but either way, it’s such a fun take on sleeping beauty. and this is coming from someone who LOVES sleeping beauty 1959!! it’s different obviously but it really is a good time, absolutely worth watching.
cinderella (2015) - beautiful! lovely!! not the most exciting film honestly but i do love the aesthetics and wardrobe. it’s a really pretty, pleasant movie. i’d love to rewatch it sometime! if only disney+ had it! which it doesn’t! for some inexplicable reason!!
beauty and the beast (2017) - i know you said besides my wife but obviously i have to still list it because. that’s my wife. anyway perfect film no notes!
the nutcracker and the four realms (2018) - i wanted to like this one so much more than i did. but it was just, so weird. it derails from canon in a way that isn’t enjoyable. ah. twas a let down, for me.
christopher robin (2018) - i don’t remember much honestly but it’s cute!! certainly worth a watch, but i don’t recall anything too special about it. it did make me cry though (that’s not hard for me to do at movies, to be fair)
mary poppins returns (2018) - CANNOT RECOMMEND ENOUGH!! THIS MOVIE IS LIKE IF JOY WAS TURNED INTO A FILM!!!! AAAHHH!!! :) SO LOVELY SO WONDERFUL!!!
the lion king (2019) - :/ genuinely not worth your time. it was TOO similar to the cartoon in terms of storyline, so it felt incredibly pointless to me. plus, it’s kind of boring that they look like real lions. i felt like i was watching animal planet but then pulled out of reality whenever they spoke or sang afjskfj
aladdin (2019) - ever since i saw this, i’ve only ever had three takeaways, and i’ll say them like a compliment sandwich. 1. visually STUNNING. the colors and the choreography, the people! all very beautiful. 2. the romance was… very flat? i honestly kept forgetting there was a love story going on. when they kiss at the end i was like “OOOHHH RIGHT!!” lmao. there’s just so much other stuff going on, jasmine & aladdin’s love story really fell to the wayside for me. 3. i LOVED that they gave jasmine her own song. she’s like the only disney princess that didn’t have her own song, somehow, so i was happy they gave her one and it was SO good. i remember it giving me chills on the first listen. — so, all in all, it was fine. not the worst but also not a personal favorite. worth a watch.
mulan (2020) - BLEGH sorry i almost threw up a little. maybe the worst live action remake of all time? let’s think: what are the best parts of mulan 1998? the music? mushu? shang’s bisexuality? shang, in general?? WELL LOOK NO FURTHER BECAUSE THIS HAS NONE OF THAT!!! :) it’s genuinely just… so bad. they took the basic concept and turned it into a freaky ass action movie. they make it so mulan was like, gifted from a young age with superhuman abilities (calling it chi, which, i don’t know the full story but i believe there was some major cultural appropriation that occured) instead of just being a normal badass human!!! and it wasn’t the villain from the cartoon it was a random witch. nothing made sense and it was stripped of everything that makes mulan one of the greatest disney films of all time. *godfather voice* look how they massacred my boy.
the little mermaid (2023) - so honestly i never really liked the original cartoon. it just never clicked with me. but i had every bit of hope that this one would maybe bring it to life for me!! and… well, it wasn’t bad! it was visually lovely and the music was fun. i just don’t think i’m a “love at first sight” kind of person. but eric was an incredibly likable nerd boy, sebastian the crab was funny, and ursula was SCARY. especially at the end oh my gosh???? anyway. worth a watch, but not my personal cup of tea. ariel and eric get points for dancing a bit AND they hugged at the end which was really sweet. couples Do Not hug enough in media.
lastly, i can’t comment on: peter pan & wendy (2023), the jungle book (2016), dumbo (2019), lady and the tramp (2019), and cruella (2021), because i have not seen them. i will absolutely note though that i despise cruella 2021 in solidarity with my friend @freakwiththeknifecollection because it blatantly disregards the canon of 101 dalmatians 1961 and they couldn’t even like?? train the dogs?? for ONE scene?? huge huge mess. i’m just scratching the surface. if you want a live action cruella, look no further than 101 dalmatians 1996. top tier live action that i loved as a kid!!

KJY - "Roland was a character whose eyes were fixed behind in many ways. When he first ran into Salvador, he anxiously kept looking backward and left himself open for a surprise attack. But, there was one time in the past where Roland could look ahead, and the encounter with Angelica is what I think brought change to Roland’s life. With Angelica gone now, he’s regressed to watching behind and reminiscing about the past. To Roland, Angelica is an angel that brought much pain as well as much happiness to him. Overcome with the grief of losing his angel, Roland wanders until he meets another angel: Angela is the source of Roland’s suffering, but at the same time, she gives him a reason to keep on living by any means. I remember the artists at Mili explaining to us as they worked on the song that ‘Gone Angels’ expresses Roland’s determination to kill that angel with his own hands and leave nothing behind."
^^^^^^ that makes me feel so many things
also you know, i only just now realized roland comments on all the groups of characters at the top of their pages <*bad eyes*
some stuff he says:
"Charles’ Office. A band of myself and the eleven Fixers who followed my lead, despite all my shortcomings… Being in the northern part of the City meant many of us had pretty extravagant outfits. I remember laughing at the way Astolfo dressed, too. We were together for quite a long time, and it felt like our company would last forever, but here we are now, going our separate ways. This wasn’t an unexpected outcome, though. I’d wonder if they’re alive and well from time to time, and it was good to see Olivier at the very least. I sometimes miss those simpler times when I could just focus on the now and live in the moment."
(about pierre & jack) "A restaurant aged 11 years in the streets of District 23; although it’s not super popular or anything, it has quite a few regulars. Its specialty is meat-based foods, and the main dish is Pierre’s signature thick meat pies. I’ve never tried one myself, but according to its patrons… the abundance and juiciness of the meat make for a fantastic meal. Now here’s the funny bit: some people don’t seem to know what the pie is made of. Well, Pierre, the head chef of the establishment, isn’t the type to babble out for things no one asked. Besides, we’re talking about District 23… the streets of flavor, y’know? Whatever methods or ingredients were used to make the food… most of those folks don’t pay any attention. They’d rather be taking another bite out of their tasty grub if they have the time to ask questions." (hmmm...)
(about the 8 o'clock circus) "...Perhaps that circus could be the place to restore your smile, forgotten in the hum of everyday life. I’d like to see a performance myself if I ever get the chance." (?? roland you saw what oswald did though......well if he wants to see the circus he can go see the circus <3 love & peace)
(about the smiling faces) "...The Smiling Faces apparently enjoy flaking human flesh into thin fillets to eat… They’re definitely far from the only ones known for cannibalism, but you’ve got to admit, their flesh fillet is something to behold. It’s uncanny how they can make the fillet so thin that you can see through it. Not like… I want to ever eat it." (HMM!? WHY DID U PAUSE)
(about liu association) "...That’s why most Fixers try not to get attached to each other; too many couples end up losing their significant others sooner or later. But, once you feel the warmth of someone precious, you can’t easily let them go. I sometimes wonder what the right thing to do is, if you lose someone who naturally became a huge part of your life." ( D: )
(about liu again) "I must wonder how it feels to be able to cherish something. To make choices for one purpose and even forfeit everything else in order to protect what’s precious. To restrain yourself from grieving for the deaths of the few to save the many who live on; to risk all you have for the sake of your loved one. I suppose it’s not the most unusual feeling. Everyone vaguely senses it, but no one bothers to delve into it. How could one name it… Love? Sympathy? I don’t think it will ever be possible to define this with a single word. A simple word wouldn’t do it justice, either. Nevertheless, it is a matter worth considering time after time."
(about distorted yan) "It sounds like there are beings comparable to gods in the City, such as the Prescripts. I think I’ve seen ‘em a few times myself… although they’re not memories I want to revisit..." (hmm...?)

So I’m uh…very late to the party with these bc I was really trying to sit out whatever bug is going on for me but I saw this the day it came out and was like WHAT????
youtube
I did NOT expect the previews to be released so early, but tbh I’m not complaining I was wondering when they were coming out :0c anyways, these were my initial impressions hearing the one in this video and the SIF 2 previews ⬇️⬇️
Ayumu - “Walking Dream” : Not gonna lie, this is not the song I expected to hear from this detective outfit but it’s really good - I like the bells and light waltz-y feel of the instrumentals,it’s not my FAVORITE Ayumu solo but it’s still nice plus it’s just the preview so idk I might change my mind when the full comes out
Kasumi - “Senobi Shittate” : You know what? This is a totally different sound for Kasumin, but I like it quite a bit - Not really my style personally, but the instrumental is really pretty and it shows a more mature Kasumi which is nice (and yes,I’m semi counting this as her black swan era too because of the instrumentals alone)
Shizuku - “Koakuma LOVE ♡” : My immediate thoughts are…HUH???? Like,I had a feeling that her solo may be cutesier due to her outfit choices but like…not like this and I love it so much,it may be one of my favorites so far :0c (but then again, imo Shizuku’s solos are always at least decent so it’s not that big of a surprise ig dndjdj - also everyone saying she swapped song styles with Kasumi is RIGHT omg)
Karin - “My Shadow” : If you look up “Karin Asaka” and put “having a bad song” next to it,you will find NOTHING because FINALLY!!!! KARIN GOT HER JAZZ SOLO!!!!! …ok it’s not exactly jazz more like electro swing but you know what? I will take it,this song is SO good - this one might be up there when it comes to my favorites too bc wow,I hope they keep doing this sort of song in LL
Ai - “Request for U” : Ok,so I was right about Ai getting a more mellow song than usual and honestly?? It works really well for her,it’s still somewhat upbeat and very Ai-y but like Kasumi’s,it shows a different side to her that I like a lot :] it’s rlly cute
Kanata - “Cooking with Love” : WOWOWOW my mind is blown with this one…this might be my favorite out of the album so far and my favorite Kanata solo like it sounds like a magical girl anime ending and I am so about it,we knew with that jirai kei outfit that she was gonna cook and cook she DID,this girl made a whole sweets buffet and I will eat every bite
Setsuna - “Cherry Bomb” : So the words on her merch WERE the title of her song, and boy is this song good too like…these songs were worth the wait - Hayamaru’s voice is fantastic,it’s distinctly different but still very Setsuna sounding,I love the sort of harder rock sound in this song :0c I’m one of the few that’s very 50/50 on Setsuna’s solos but this one is really good, they really cranked up the shounen anime opening vibes for her and I like it a lot
Emma - “Koisuru Sunflower” : This album continues to be full of surprises,I was expecting a slower song due to the outfit but am pleasantly surprised with this mid-tempo calypso-y song - Emma’s songs always have this sort of warm comfy sound,I feel like I’m relaxing on the beach with a fun drink listening to it idk what it is
Rina - “Watashi wa Magnet” : …huh this song is a lot slower than I expected it to be with the outfit, but I think it’s funny that Rina has gotten two love songs consistently although this one is more upbeat and bubbly compared to the more bittersweet somber sound of First Love Again, but it’s not really my style like it’s not terrible it’s just not a song I think I’ll listen to often ykwim
Shioriko - “Koufukuron” : Ok…this is absolutely not how I expected this to sound, like her outfit names were things like “Undead Celebrity” and “Royal Skeleton” - I fully expected this song to be kind of spooky sounding but no…ily Shio but this preview does NOT do the song justice,it just seems so flat in comparison to her other songs I’m kinda disappointed :/
Mia - “Lemonade” : The song is very cute,it gives me very 2009 Hannah Montana but like a good b-side - There’s other Mia solos I like more, but this one is alright and also some of the lyrics are a little…silly but it’s easier to brush past this time (looking at you Toy Doll)
Lanzhu - “5201314 / I Love You for A Lifetime” : And the most unique song title in Love Live goes to…Zhong Lanzhu! But seriously,Lanzhu really does not miss, this song is so good :0c I like that she speaks a little more Mandarin in this song, and even the general vibe of the song reflects that too. It still has her sound, but has elements to it that are new - She truly never makes a bad song

Hi Desi! Here is my nice ask for you:
Which show do you think has the best soundtrack? (It could be opening and closing songs or just music used throughout the show)
Have a good day! 💜
Dalawa 🥰 Thank you for letting me talk about one of my favorite things, music in anime!!! Anime has some of the greatest opening, ending and in between songs of all time and I have many favorites! I will include a song or music video for each and I apologize for the length of this ❤️
Puella Magi Madoka Magica - The show that started my and my friends 3 episode rule! You must watch 3 episodes of an anime at least to determine if you want to keep watching or not. The first 2 episodes of this show were cutesy and not too much was actually happening. And then episode 3 came in like a wrecking ball and turned this magical girl show on it's head! It was sooo unassuming and good and the music had a big influence on that too, and magical girl lesbians also helped! This show is the definition of, "I would burn the world for you!" And the main artist of the show, Kalafina, a beautiful Japanese women Gothic singing group, is just icing on the cake!
youtube
Ousama Ranking - Such an unassuming show with the protagonist being a deaf and mute Prince, who has his rightful place as next in the line for the throne stolen from him! I love this show and the characters and music are a big reason why. The second opening of it is still probably my favorite opening song ever!!! Please everyone at least watch this video if you see this post!! 💖
youtube
Yuri on ice - This show was one of my first big obsessions and I am so sad that there are still only 12 episodes and nothing else 😭 An Ice Skating anime that follows a Japanese figure skater as he struggles to get past his self-confidence issues so he can perform on the ice. This show has a fantastic cast of diverse characters and an exceptional soundtrack, as most characters perform 2 different routines and that means they need a song for each of those! I have to post the original opening for this!
youtube
Zombieland Saga - Despite what you might think from the name, this show is about zombies, but they are a group of zombie girls trying to become idols to save their Japanese town! It is such a cute show with many great songs throughout sung by some talented people!! And as you learn more about the characters and how they died, you also learn that it's one of the few animes that features a canonically trans character!! The song I picked is sung by my favorite character, who I totally don't have a crush on.
youtube
And not a show but I would be remiss if I didn't include one of the GOAT Japanese composers, Hiroyuki Sawano! The atmosphere his songs create in so many shows, most famously Attack on Titan, are unbelievable, chilling and other worldly! It's because of him that I started looking more closely at the music of shows and have found many a great artist because of him! Here's one of his newest songs from a fantastic Manwa (Korean Manga) turned anime, Solo Leveling!

Just finished a replay of my favorite game series, Mother!! I'm glad i did because my first time playing it my opinion was a bit unbalanced and influenced by my play order i feel, now i have newfound appreciation for all three of them!

more thoughts under da cut
First time i played in order of 3>2>1 and this time i went the other way around!
My opinion on Mother 1 has not changed much i think. I love the story the most, it is a simple unique contained tale with a sweet message. It is undoubtedly very dated and janky and also admittedly exhausting to play, lol. It's the combination of the monotonous visual, blaring song and just a big barren dangerous world to explore! I still love it so much though i would not recommend it as someone's first game in the installment in this series. Need to ease your way in from other installment(s) first.
Mother 2, i remember not liking it so much when i played it first time. Mainly because it was so different from Mother 3, lol. And the quirkiness takes precedence over everything else, at least that's what i thought back then. After replaying it i like it a lot more now!
It is similar to M1 in visual/ux though with *many* improvements that makes it an easier experience. I still don't appreciate how hard it is to navigate your way thru status conditions and healing them. Though i do feel that being able to heal everything via hot springs is a tad too convenient... so iunno! I like the world exploration aspect and i think homesickness is such a cute status effect, haha.
Mother 3 was my BIG favorite back then! I still love it now obviously though the flaws are a bit more apparent now that i play in the supposed order. M1 and M2 was like, cosmic horror for kids. And now in M3 that aspect is just gone? and it's more of a tragic family tale. It's great, but admittedly it doesn't hit me as hard as the first time. Maybe mainly because i think the first few chapters were a draaaaag. They're more intended for story progression instead of gameplay experience, and the game doesn't properly kick off until i have my full team (chapter 5). Also i don't really care about the lore dump since they just did it right before the end.
That was a big complaint but M3 also has plethora of positives. I like the cast the most (mainly for emotional reasons rather than gameplay efficiency but STILL), sound battle is a blast, fantastic music and animation. The world is less open and more of a linear path but they circumvent it by giving you the ability to run. Also it has the sweetest ending!!!

Final verdict? Mother series good. Play all of them
thank you for reading till the end!
