i know leaving my old blog behind was the best thing to do. as wonderful as all my interactions with my mutuals there was, i was also harassed. for a period of time it was by someone from my real life who had found my blog through a mutual acquaintance which is too long of a story to get into. but literally for the last stretch of my time on there to get hit with messages calling me a cunt, petty bitch, and to kms. Tumblr, that Tumblr, was my escape. From a job that has been beating me down. From a long three years since the pandemic started where I have felt more isolated than ever. From a period of time where I have lost friends to their own mental health battles and am saying goodbye to some of the most important people in my life as doctors tell my family to prepare for the worst.

Maybe things like gifs aren’t a big deal to other people. But my contributions to fandom were an expression of love to the one thing that was my escape. And for the people that said I was aggressive, I’d prefer that to being passive aggressive. Which they have been. Including the fact that despite being told it was theft, they left my work up and said the reason why they haven’t offered credit is because I blocked them.

I don’t know about anyone else, but if I were told something on my blog was theft I would take it down. I wouldn’t wait for people to come to me and say “you do have permission” or “you don’t.” Especially when I had clearly done wrong to multiple creators. Which, by the way, is why I didn’t opt to DM and announced instead so any creator affected could be aware.

And no, I have no doubt that they and their followers were involved in the horrendous messages I was sent or the egging on from other people.

But anyway, once I finished work today, I haven’t been able to stop crying because even with a 3 day weekend, I know that I have to go back. I know I’m just waiting for a call to let me know I’ve lost someone I love that will keep me up until 4am. I know I’m going to be alone once I’m done babysitting and dogsitting. And I don’t feel inspired to contribute to the fandom that means so much to me.

Anyway. It’s dumb and I’ll get over it. And I don’t regret the actions I took that caused it. And I’m grateful for the people I know who would never treat me the way I was treated who I followed from here and followed me back.

But it feels like maybe even before that I was hanging by a thread and it’s fraying more and more every day.

im gonna kms the new tumblr update just got updated in my posts and now my gifs are textposts.. im gonna cry :(

the gifset i just posted took me an HOUR to post correctly and i had to delete it twice before i realized you literally cannot save it as a draft, then edit it, then publish it. your caption and your tags have to be perfect the first time you save it as a draft otherwise when it publishes, it resizes your gifs by like 40% for absolutely no reason. also using small text in a caption doesn't work on the last two characters once it's saved. when you switch to html if you wanna do a gradient colored caption, the images are blocked and you can't switch back and forth. it's absolute garbage and i definitely won't be giffing as much anymore because of it. the formatting is shit. the padding is shit. it's not worth the time.

The first time Jin heard his baby girl tell him that she loves him was when she 6 years old. Your poor baby had gotten a fever and had felt like she was on literally on fire. Her skin was hot and her cheeks were stained a cherry red color.

With a sigh, you sat down next to your worried husband. “I finally got her to fall asleep.” You told him as you leaned into his open arms. Jin smiled slightly. He felt grateful that you took over to put her to sleep tonight since Jin felt exhausted from a long day at work.

“I’m getting very worried. If she doesn’t get better soon, we definitely need to get her to the E.R.” Jin told you. You agreed with a slight nod.

“Mommy? Daddy?” Your little girl cried out as she walked into the living with her hand rubbing her eyes. The two of you sat up straight very quickly before rushing to the little one. “I can’t sleep.”

Jin frowned and placed a hand on her tiny shoulders. “Daddy will help you fall asleep, okay?” The little one nodded before Jin turned to you.

“You go relax, I got it this time babe.” You smiled gratefully as the two headed off to Y/D/N’s room.

As Y/D/N laid in bed, Jin laid down besides her with her head resting on his arm. “Daddy?”

“Hmm? Is something wrong love?”

Y/D/N shook her head. “No.. but daddy I want to tell you something.” Jin looked down at her confused. “I love you daddy, thank you for taking care of me.”

Jin smiled warmly. “Hey, it’s okay sweets. I’m your world wide handsome father, of course.” Y/D/N let out a small giggle before coughing. “And I love you too sweets. Mommy and daddy loves you so much.” Closing his eyes, the two fell into a very peaceful and much needed sleep.

SUGA:

The two of you had two kids, one being a 16 year old growing boy and one being a 3 year old baby girl. Your eldest was just like Yoongi, a boy who didn’t know how to show his feelings well but did it through actions. To put it in a more simple form, your son was basically a tsundere just like his father. He was very subtle when he shows that he cares and loves someone so it took you both by surprised when your son told you both that he loved you guys so openly.

It was on the night of his 16th birthday and the two of you decided to buy him a whole set of Attack on Titan seasons 1 and 2 DVDs along with the ongoing manga. Not only that, but you both took him out for dinner with his friends and family and ended it with smearing frosting on his face from the fruit cake you bought him.

Y/S/N was so overwhelmed with all the gifts and activities that took part on this day that by the time all of you guys got home, he cried. And that made you and Yoongi very worried.

“Honey, why are you crying? Is everything okay?” You asked him as he sat on the couch with his head in his hands. Yoongi sat on the other side of him as your little girl sat on the floor playing with her toys. “You know you can tell your father and I anything but if you’re not comfortable to tell us, we won’t push it on it on you to tell us.”

“N-no...” Y/S/N spoke out softly. He looked up at you both as his hands fell to his lap. “I-...” He took a deep breath. “I’m so happy. I don’t know how to say this but I’m just really grateful that I have the best parents in the world along with a cool baby sister.”

You looked at Yoongi with shock as your son continued. Yoongi smiled slightly before placing a hand on his shoulder. “I just love you guys so much. Thank you for everything.” You and Yoongi smiled and pulled him into a hug.

“We love you so much too.” Yoongi told him truthfully. Yoongi understood where your son was coming from. When Yoongi looked at his eyes, Yoongi would see himself through him, his own past self looking right back. But Yoongi was happy. His son was able to express himself far better than Yoongi ever could and he was proud of that. Yoongi thought that maybe, he did a good job at raising his son and that thought made his gummy smile show (gif).

J-HOPE:

It’s no surprise that your daughter is usually happy. From having a picturesque perfect family to amazing friends, she had it all. But the thing that she didn’t have was a loving boyfriend who knew how to treat her well. Of course, the reason being that they’re quite young. Only being 17, relationships are trial and error and it’s just an experience.

So when Y/D/N came home crying from a date she had supposedly went on with her boyfriend, Hoseok was mortified. He was confused, worried, and honestly a little bit scared. You were on a business trip so you weren’t able to help if it was for girl problems.

Quickly, Hoseok rushed to his crying daughters side and engulfed her into a hug. “Honey, is everything okay? What’s wrong?”

Y/D/N cried into his chest as her arms voluntarily wrapped themselves around her fathers body. “He- He broke up with me.”

Hobi frowned. “Oh darling...” In a slow pace, Hobi walked Y/D/N to the living room so they could sit down on the couch. “Boys are trash anyways and besides, you’re not old enough for a relationship love. I know how much you’re hurting right now and I understand exactly how you feel. You know,” He began with a smile on his face. “Your mother was the first person to break my heart.”

“Really?” Y/D/N looked up at him.

He nodded, “Mhmm. And she’s going to be the last one at that. But the reason why she broke my heart the first time was because we just didn’t have the time.”

“Time?”

“Mmm. We were young, just like you. And we were too busy focusing on our studies and getting ready for entrance exams that we just didn’t have time for a relationship. We were getting ready to be adults and to start our lives with a career. After we broke up, I eventually became apart of BTS and I met such amazing people.”

“My uncles...” She spoke with a soft smile. “They are amazing uncles.”

Hobi nodded. “Eventually, I met your mom again after a long time and we hit it off again. Look, honey, what I’m trying to say is that sometimes breaking up and being independent is a good thing. You should focus on yourself now, especially since you’re at the age where you should start focusing heavily on college and possible careers. Because once you have a start on your ultimate goals, then the one for you will eventually come into your life and make it an awesome journey for you.” Hobi slid his arm around your daughter’s shoulder, pulling her into a side hug.

Y/D/N sniffles had stopped and she was now understanding the reason why her boyfriend had decided to take a break. She felt a lot better now and that was all thanks to her dad. “Dad?”

“Yes, love?”

“I love you. Thank you for helping me understand.”

Hobi smiled warmly, “Of course. I’m your hope and you’re my hope. I’m always going to be there for you no matter what.”

RM:

Namjoon was known world wide for his parenting. Of course, Namjoon himself is a smart intellectual and he knew things from right and wrong. He had his way of words, and the way he thinks is absolutely beautiful. So it’s not surprising if his kids turned out the same way as Namjoon.

His two kids are always at the top of class: they had amazing grades, and they were so down to earth that it’s almost ridiculous. They were sweet and they had such a good relationship with their parents. But as of late, Namjoon’s eldest was quieter than usual and that made Namjoon worried.

“Y/S/N, can I have a word with you?” Namjoon pulled the oldest aside as a small frown etched on his face. “Is everything okay?”

Y/S/N nodded, “Yeah.” He said quickly as he scratched the back of his head. “Why wouldn’t it be?” He laughed out a small laugh and that made Namjoon raise a brow up in concern.

“You know,” Namjoon started, his stern and parental tone coming out. “You can always tell your mother and I anything right? We’re always going to be here for you, no matter what.” Namjoon placed a hand on his son’s shoulder to assure him that he meant it.

“Actually,” Y/S/N sighed. “I just... I feel like I could do better in school dad. I’m kind of stressed out with finals coming out and everything. And I feel like I’m not doing as well as you did in school. I feel like I’m disappointing you and mom.”

Namjoon frowned. “Y/S/ you have nothing to worry about and you are completely wrong. You have made mom and I so proud of you and we’re so happy that you’re doing great. Even if you didn’t do so well or as well as you hoped to, you’re still great in our eyes. And you are doing completely fine.” Namjoon pulled his son into a hug. “You’re doing so well Y/S/N, don’t let the pressure get to you, okay? If anything, you can always ask mom and I if you need help.”

Y/S/N sniffled into Namjoon’s shoulder. “Thank you dad. I love you.”

Namjoon smiled upon hearing those words. “I love you too, son.”

She still thinks KM is real, she just thinks JM deserves better. Which is worse imo, because that just crosses all kinds of boundaries. Who are you to say that about Jimin when you can clearly see how happy JK makes him. All these pjms are like this too. They say KM is real but "JK isnt worthy". This all started btw bc JK didn't hype Promise. I personally think JM asks them not to hype his songs, bc the members hype other members solo projects, so that seems to be the logical conclusion.- 1

But when Jimin posted a vid of him lip syncing Scenery, and JK posted a vid of himself CLEARLY teasing Jimin, they all went crazy. Telling JM to replace JK, to go solo, calling JK fake, a bad friend/boyfriend. Then Jimin literally responded calling him “cute”. Being mad for Jimin when Jimin isnt even upset. But according to them he was mad, just too nice to show it. They started to hate JK after that, over a 15 sec video. It was so embarrassing. That was kinda the last straw for me.- 2

Really? I heard she stopped shipping them, because some people were actually relieved about that o-o I would love to look it up, but as I said, she blocked me °3°

That whole lip-sync thing was sooooo fcking dumb. I saw it on twitter. People hating on Jk at first for not lip-syncing Promise, and after he did it, they hated on him for not promoting the song earlier.

Like…. CHOOSE WHAT YOU WANT!

(also I still have gifs of that video because Jks eyes are literally sparkling throughout the whole thing)

Either way, how can you ship a pair, but simutaniously say that Jk is not worthy for Jimin and only brings him despair? As if they know what Jimin thinks and feels, and who is worthy or not.

And if you think about it, jk would run to the end of the world for Jimin. Even if they have just a platonic relationship. He would do that, because he loves him so much.

2019 Aston Martin DB11 AMR First Drive: Upping the Appeal

I’ll never forget a particular moment from our 2017 Best Driver’s Car competition. Aston Martin had sent a vehicle dynamics engineer out from the U.K. to observe the festivities, and I offered him a ride as I took the then new Aston Martin DB11 up California’s Highway 198. Halfway up the hill he said something like, “Yeah, we should have added on more suspension settings.” Although it’s a lovely grand tourer, the DB11 just wasn’t sporty enough, didn’t have sufficient body control (or brakes), and as such placed last at BDC. It’s a true shame, as the big, sexy, twin-turbo V-12 was a lovely thing. Yeah, I said was.

Something else happened on the way to the DB11’s funeral—Aston Martin released the DB11 V8. Packing a bellowing 503-horsepower, 498 lb-ft, 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 from none other than AMG, this car invalidated its big sibling. Not only does the V8 version weigh some 250 pounds less than the V-12, but in what essentially amounted to an early refresh, Aston Martin’s engineers changed much of the car’s suspension, specifically at the rear. The result was a machine that offered performance nearly identical to that of its more expensive sibling, but also one that was better to drive. Aston took note.

The DB11 is dead. Long live the DB11 AMR.

Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer explained that the fabled British brand sold 4,200 DB11s in only 18 months—not bad at all. But the DB11 is gone, having been replaced by the DB11 AMR. The headline story is that power is up. The AMR version now makes 630 ponies, a healthy margin over the DB11 and V8’s top power of 600 hp. Torque remains the same, which is problematic as the V-12 engine produces “only” 516 lb-ft of twist, just 18 more than the AMG’d V-8. Still, with the 30 additional horses, top speed climbs from 200 mph to a lofty 208. That’s 1 mile per hour more than the rival Bentley Continental GT, as Mr. Palmer would like you to note. It’s also worth mentioning that the AMR makes 4 horsepower more than the Bentley, though the Conti’s torque is 664 lb-ft. Although extra power is (always) great, the real news is the revisions Aston Martin made to the DB11 AMR’s suspension. Essentially, all the tweaks Aston made to the V8 have been applied to the AMR, with consideration given to the extra weight of the big V-12. As vehicle line director (and father of the mighty V12 Vantage) Paul Barritt explained, handling starts at the rear. As such, most of the major rejiggering done by chief engineer (and former Lotus engineer) Matt Becker and his team started out back. The goal was to achieve better handling without giving up too much in the way of ride quality. Remember, all DB11s are grand tourers at heart. For now, Aston’s sports car is the Vantage—until the arrivals of the Vantage S and the as of yet unnamed mid-engine car.

Visually, chief creative officer Marek Reichman’s team nipped and tucked and hemmed, and the changes are subtle. Bright shiny pieces have been tinted black, exposed carbon fiber is available as an option on almost every exterior part (mirrors, roof, roof strake, splitter, diffuser, and sills), and the wheels have been replaced with sportier, 20-inch forged numbers. Even the Curliques—the large slashes on the front fenders that flow out of the wheel arches—sport less chrome. The dark motif continues inside, with what Aston calls “monotone leather” and lots of Alcantara, all set off by a lime stripe. No major surgery was performed because—let’s face it—the DB11 started off great looking. As I wrote previously, “The DB11 is beautiful. Deeply, willfully, unabashedly beautiful.” Plus, it’s one of those designs that is aging fabulously. Anecdotally, a friend of mine who used to dislike the looks texted me the other day to tell me the DB11 has “grown on” him.

These changes might not sound like much, but they all add up to something quietly lovely. I first saw the new cars in the metal at Aston Martin’s technical center located across the street from the front straight of the Nürburgring Nordschleife. I was there to run a parade lap with about 40 owners and their Astons to kick off the 24 Hour Race. One owner brought along a now defunct DB11, and the contrast between the old and the new was striking. Sure, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but give me the AMR, please. Right off the bat it was apparent that the AMR refresh handles better than the DB11 it replaces. In the old car, the standard suspension setting was essentially useless. It was one of those cars that you immediately had to put into Sport; otherwise, the ride was just too floppy. For fast driving, you had to go into Sport Plus, and if you took the big girl (4,194 pounds) to a track, you had nowhere left to go. As the Aston engineer said, the car needed an additional setting. The DB11 AMR now has that. Default suspension is pretty sporty; Sport mode is just fine for burning up your favorite back road; and the renamed Track mode is stiffer still, offering even more body control.

As for the increased power, I’d say the AMR feels 5 percent more potent than the DB11. I didn’t notice much difference in terms of acceleration from low speeds or a stop, though from higher speeds, the AMR did seem to pull harder than before. The transmission feels much better. The AMR still uses the tried and true ZF eight-speed auto, but the shifts bang off crispier than before, even though I spent most of my time in full manual mode using the large paddle shifters. During my few hundred kilometers inside the AMR, I was in either Sport or Track mode and the big difference between the two is that shifts are harsher in Track. Some days, I’d like that; other days, not so much. What I enjoyed every single day was the improved, more aggressive exhaust note. Grrr, yourself, sir. We had a few miles to stretch the DB11 AMR’s legs on an unrestricted section of the autobahn. I saw an easy 175 mph, and the DB11 AMR was chomping at the bit to go faster. Not only is hell is other cars, but my exit came up quick!

Although it still isn’t a sports car, the DB11 AMR packs meaningful performance upgrades for the British grand tourer. It’s beautiful, powerful, and elegant, and now—with a bit more hair poking out of its shirt—the AMR is a compelling proposition. Before, there wasn’t enough daylight between the AMG-engined DB11 V8 and the big V-12 in terms of power, plus the lighter V8 drove better. Now, the handling advantage goes to the AMR. It’s one iteration more sorted out. The only reason not to get the V-12 might be the price, a hefty $244,086 when it goes on sale in the U.S. this July. But you know what? If I had the money, I’d have a black DB11 AMR. Aston Martin has done what the company does best: built a beautiful beast that appeals most passionately to the irrational angels of our being.
