RWRB Musical Ramble Part 3: Jukebox Musical
yes I'm back on this MWAHAHAHAHAHA
I’m also wondering if RWRB would work as a Jukebox musical (a musical using pop songs instead of original songs, our darling Nicholas has already starred in a, with all due respect, not that good one: Cinderella 2021)
That way we can keep some of the amazing song choices in the movie: If I Loved You, Get Low, Can’t Help Falling in Love With You. Plus with RWRB being a modern fairy tale and stuff maybe straight-up using pop songs would work better with the entire tone of the show/movie
But like, certain scenes/moments/songs from & Juliet and Moulin Rouge (ok these are the only two jukebox musicals I’ve listen to so far) could work for RWRB (yes I’m realizing this is more me finding musical songs that work for RWRB than anything but sue me)
“I Kissed a Girl/Boy” from & Juliet/ Katy Perry would work well for the entire Red Room -> Hook Up -> Polo Scene, granted RWRB would be more intense than what’s in & Juliet since our boys are doing… a little more than kissing :)

This is less direct, but parts of “Elephant Love Medley” from Mouline Rouge, more distinctly in the Broadway show version, Santine sings about how love is not something she believes in while Christian sings about how he wants love with her. The idea of a love medley can work with Firstprince too, maybe during the Paris date or the lake scene: Henry not believing he can have love while Alex wanting to tell Henry that he’s in love with him. Plus Your Song (and Can't Help Falling in Love, briefly, in the broadway show version) makes an appearance :D (Even though personally I think Can't Help Falling in Love fits Firstprince more)

A lot of us talk about how Taylor Swift-coded Firstprince is, and it’s true (and I personally love it), but in a jukebox musical, the TS songs can be directly used: personally think Labyrinth would be fitting for where If I Love you is in the film, but having Henry sing it, especially since the first verse fits the imagery of Henry holding his aching heart under the water so well (sorry I can't find the freaking gif) :

The gift from “Carmen” took my breath away for a moment 🥹 When Tessa couldn't continue due to pain in her legs and Scott was trying to reassure her that everything was ok 🥹 I found it extremely sweet and compassionate that he cared so much for her and to reassure her that they might as well stop and abandon the competition. ❤️
At the same time it breaks my heart to see how she, having arrived at the boards with the coaches, is so broken and afraid of disappointing everyone… I really don't know where she recovered the strength to continue despite the pains 😭😭😭 the fact that she had to resume immediately so close to a very difficult lift was once again proof of how much total trust she places in Scott, in the fact that he will always be there for her, that he will not let her fall, that he will never blame her and that in a moment so hard he could sustain her, in any way ❤️

The essence of their partnership is care and compassion and they would never do anything to hurt each other. He only ever wants what is best for her.. the amount of instances of teams getting mad at each other for what ever reason.. No. NEVER TS.. she said in their book that to this day she feels regret over it and that she really felt she shouldn’t have stopped in the first place. The pain she was in for so long, probably skated so many competitions in some sort of pain, never wavering, never showing weakness, it MUST have been so bad this time for that pain to override her formidable mind.

And yes. HIM. You can see as they round the back of the rink she’s saying (implying) ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry, please let me keep going’. That immediate panic ensues and she wishes she could take that moment back, she’s so mad at herself for stopping and there’s nothing she can do, the (so called) “damage” has been done. But Scott. He just talks her down off the ledge so beautifully. He knows exactly what to say, exactly what to do to calm her- not coddle her, not blame or get mad at her, just get her back to the state of mind she needs to be in to make the right decision for her. It’s pretty clear to make out he’s saying: “you can’t, don’t Tess. Ok, ok. Stop”. And at one point it looks as though she’s saying: “I can” right before he just says Stop.

The moment she kind pushes him away ruins me.. she’s so devastated, so not in the right frame of mind to think clearly, probably every possible and fanatical consequence is running through her mind- this competition, home worlds, the Olympics.. what has she done and she’s just wishing she could take it back, she can’t think clearly and he has to think for her. She’s trained her mind for so long to mask her pain and when it can’t she doesn’t know what to do.. this I think is the closest I’ve ever seen her to broken. It’s beautiful how he almost has to get slightly rough with her to just stop her from spiralling. So he grabs her head, then her hand to get her to stop- for so long that has held so much value to them, they love to hold hands and she’s knows when he squeezes her hand that everything will be ok.

It’s also so lovely the way he takes charge of dealing the the officials (insert this into my Things I Love series). It’s obvious he would do that but I still love it, and he just tells them she’s hurt.. I may be reading into it but even the way he says that, you know he’s so worried about her and they’d dealt with that so many times, so many times she was ‘hurt’ and CHRist he was so patient with her.. he stuck by her all those years through it all and I don’t think this was so much a matter of ‘shit it’s happening again’.. her legs were still something there and he always would’ve been worried about it- not competitively but just for her wanting her to be ok. I don’t know how to say it definitively enough but.. Tessa is his ONLY partner. She stops, he stops. She may not ever skate again, he may never skate again. I need everyone in the world to understand that without each other, there is none of this. This is only them, their entire lives up until like 2019- 22 years (more or less) was VirtueMoir, and a huge part of them will remain VIRTUEMOIR. I can only imaging the obscenities Scott would of hurled at anyone who told him he should get a new partner coz Tessa (‘s legs) ain’t it.

There’s no way he was at the boards convincing her to keep going against her own will, I think he was leaving that decision completely in her hands, only supporting her in her decision to start again if she was certain- and he knows her so well he can tell when she’s certain- she’s so strong willed, he knew she could do it but was also only going to do what was best for her- determined by her because she is the best ice dancer ever and you don’t get there by not being an incredible athlete. The way he shoos the camera man away, then getting mike to actually move him. This without a doubt is the moment I fell in love with SM. He’s seemingly saying ‘she shouldn’t keep going..if she’s in pain’. I really have no idea what was exactly said… but you know the gist of just being concerned for her safety above all else.

Then once they do decide to continue, as they wait for the music to restart and he’s just talking to her. The way he makes it so everything else in the world disappears and it is only him she sees and hears. He’s going to be her voice in her head telling her she can do it because she probably isn’t in a place where she can fully do that herself.
When he switches their handhold, they were doing that proper handhold back then but not as often as the comeback. I imaging he’s telling her “you’re incredible T, you’re the best in the world, no one can do what you do. Just focus on your breathing, breathe with me. I’m here for you, we’re in this together, right till the end I’ll always be here with you”. They take their time getting into the lift and he’s really careful with her- kinda leaves his left arm up, even though she can’t see it, but feels that protection there. He stays in her ear the whole rest of the program, getting in her face, you can even see in their close holds he is giving her more support than he usually would need to- she had never been one to clutch onto him in hold or be wobbly on her skates (apart from the 2009 season coming back from first surgery she was obviously weaker), he’s just giving her whatever she needs to keep going- it was her decision to keep going so he will be there for her no matter what.

I love on the ending, how he hangs there.. there’s something very emotional about that too. Like I felt that was hard for him as well- to finish. The extra emotional exhaustion that took to get to the end, not to mention restarting- yes they got a pause to catch their breath but they would be trained to the rhythm of the program and stopping unexpectedly.. it can mess with how they regulate their stamina.

Then the sheer disappointment on her face.. again I just want to hug her- I image he did once they were out of the k+c.
What a burden it must’ve been on her mind to be one half of the best ice dance team in the world, soon to be of all time, and to have this chronic problem that at any moment almost could just shut her legs off.. training full time, competing 7 times a year, improving, getting stronger and remaining innovative, the worlds bench mark.. no wonder she felt like a fraud. God I just want to give her the biggest hug in the world because no way she could’ve realised back then how incredible she really was. When she talks about blocking so much out because it’s too painful to think about and reliving all the guilt she felt for Scott. This is the part of their partnership that is just so special because they protected each other even from themselves, the very person she felt enormous guilt for, was the person protecting her from feeling that about him. The freaking psychology of their partnership jeez I want to study it.
Again like with the video camera man, seemingly a photographer wanting a pic of them in the k+c and he just gives that subtle shake if the head that means everything. Keeping everything she doesn’t need in her world right now out of it. No doubt he would be disappointed, frustrated, maybe even angry, but (like I’ve said before in an unrelated post) none of that is directed at her, just the situation. He is disappointed for the team- not himself and not in her. Everything she’s been through and has hardly ever shown weakness- only one other time they stopped mid-program. He knows how strong she is so for it to have happened he knows it was bad.
They just took such good care of each other. They were so kind and wonderful to each other. With using that wording there’s a sense of softness and delicacy.. the connotation of weakness. And I don’t associate them with ‘weakness’ at all, but I love how there’s this delicacy to them- to me it encapsulates how they allowed their emotions to live freely with each other. They never had to put up a front or brave face- the other could always see behind that. Here T puts up a brave face for everyone else but he can see the pain and trepidation in her eyes, and he knows he has the responsibility to get her through it, and he’s the only one she trusts to get her through it. He can see her at her lowest and doesn’t need to tell her to toughen up, because she’s the strongest person he knows. She is always strong but he allows her to feel anything and everything she wants because he is her safe space. They do that for each other- they never have to be anything but themselves for each other. It’s not in any way a weakness or makes you weak to be told and showed everyday.. every moment that you are cared about that person is so grateful for you.. it adds softness and an air of magic and I would actually say only makes them stronger because they know that person beside them is never not gonna have their back.
Just when I think I couldn’t be more inspired by them I rewatch this moment I’ve seen a thousand times and… the enormity of the example they are of what trusting and caring about someone truly looks like. And not just looks like but feels like. They feel so freaking much for each other. They just care to the ends of the universe about each other. To be so seen and so understood.. yes this is an unorthodox relationship and they are in an extremely unique/high pressure environment, they need that trust to do what they do, but watching them and feeling the compassion, concern, unwavering belief that the person they live everyday of their life with is the the best, and they need each other. No matter what else that ever meant, that is more special then anything I could imagine.. and this is just one example of that.. every moment of them exudes the same trust and loyalty.

synopsis : after coming back into contact with beomgyu , the person who wavered your view of love and couples , the two of you are forced to work together for a project. in the end the two of you have to deal with unwanted feelings.

you ran through the long hallways, looking for the door with a sign that had your group’s names on it. eventually running into sakura, chaewon, yunjin and yena who were all standing directly outside of the door, urging you to arrive quicker. as you entered the room, taking a seat in one of the makeup chairs, getting your hair and makeup done by the girls as quickly as possible. thankfully there wasn’t much to do with the hair and makeup as you previously had gotten it done, but they made slight touch ups.
“yn !! why would you scare us like this , we’re next in line !!” yena complained as she finally took a seat feeling a bit less nervous as you finished up. your body relaxed taking a minute to close your eyes.
“i told you i was busy, yena.. but then i felt bad-“
“can you at least tell us why you were so late, yn ?” chaewon asked. patting your head, smoothing your hair out, attempting to smoothen down a few loose hairs.
“you can probably check any social media.. oh ! just search up mine and jake’s names !!” you exclaimed. pulling out your phone from your purse that you had taken along with you, handing the phone to chaewon. as you heard her nails tapping against your phone. a shocked expression appearing on her face as she gave the phone to sakura.
“you were getting married to jake !? TODAY ??!!! and you just left !!!” chaewon yelled, sakura proceeding to ask questions as she also passed the phone to yena, who seemed quite confused.
“not really married- ‘ts not a real marriage if you don’t love one another.. right ? plus jake and i agreed to ditch our spots today and reveal that it’s all been fake, this entire time.” you stated. getting up from the makeup chair, “after all nobody would like to be in an arranged marriage,”
“wait, so yn, where are you going after this ?” yunjin asked , worried for your sleeping and living arrangements.
“hm? me.. i think i’ll see my brother.. i don’t know if he wants to see me, but i’ve moved a few of my necessities to beomgyu’s place.”
“you could always-“ yunjin begins to invite you to stay with her. although you cut her off.
“-it’s best if i don’t, yunjin, your parents and mine are friends, i don’t even want to really stay with beomgyu. just because i’m worried my mom might say something to him…”
“oooh, you can always stay with me and sakura, well we can’t really ensure something long-term, but at least until you can stabilize your situation a bit.”
“thank you so much, chae, i’ll check in with my brother first and uhmm.. well depending on what he says then i’ll let you know.” you responded, sending a bright smile towards her.
“also.. yn, i thought you were an only child ?” sakura questions, taking her seat on the arm side of the couch.
“mhmm. that’s what it looks like because that’s what my parents and my brother want you to think.. he separated himself from the family because he didn’t want to be forced into business.. he really loved to dance and sing- we didn’t talk much.. mainly because he was taught things that my mom believed i shouldn’t be taught.”
“there’s so much to you that we didn’t know about… but anyway.. you missed rehearsal earlier so just try your best !!” yena gathered all 5 of you in the middle of the room, making a circle and putting your hands in the middle. “ready ??”

NAKED - 4: RUN Jungkook

[Music is a very big part of my life and I’m MOSTLY INCAPABLE of writing without music, so I just thought I'd share what I am listening to while writing this]

It’s June 12, 2017, 「BTS Festa 2017」 pulls up now remember that these festa dinners/events are usually filmed beforehand perhaps days, longest a month, most likely depending on their schedule and amongst their usual excitement and bickering we are very randomly and oh-so-casually made privy of a particular piece of information regarding Jungkook: During 2016, the only birthday present he gifted was to Jimin and the public the boys wants to know why.

For the life of me, I’m not sure exactly what they expected him to answer, or actually let me correct myself real quick; I'm not sure exactly what Jimin expected him to answer. If you watch the entire video, the members make it clear throughout the session that because they are all around each other so much, they ran out of things to ask or discuss about each other, hence most of the questions they came out with were for lack of anything real to say and really just to create lighthearted banter. 
During this brainstorm-for-banter one of the members did bring up the question, which sparked JM’s interest and the way I’ve always pictured JM in my head during this moment, was him going “you know what? Yeah. Let's ask this …”. Mind you, this was a period (as shown from the infamous JinJikook vlive:
) where JM seemed to almost be requesting from JK to come forth saying things he thought he wouldn’t hear if not in front of a camera 😬.

JK didn’t answer the question, at least not in the direct way that perhaps JM wanted him to but he was hella smart about it!. If you watch the whole video you’ll see that from the moment the question was asked, JK wasn’t even given the time to reply, it was a whole back-and-forth between all the members who probably felt like some sort of grave was being dug, until JM would bring it back to subject and try to make JK answer. But JK did handle it like a pro and replied that he’d place more care in choosing member’s gifts from then on. 
Why did JM want something from JK so badly? Why was JK fighting not the give this something to JM? I’m afraid we will never know unless they tell us and for the rest it can be all up to speculation, but this goes well into Jikook 2016 dynamics so I can’t digress 🥴 Back to todays topic!
So, in my opinion, JK might have dodged a bullet that day but I think it was finally made even louder and clearer that soemthing had to be done. Jungkook needed to RUN. And not run as in “run away” but run in the RUN BTS way, he needed to get to work to “solve a mission” because whatever feelings or message he was maybe trying to convey to JM were apparently not coming across; so JK got to work.

October 13, 2017 & October 15, 2017 rolled around. The first being JM’s birthday, which he went on vlive for and the second being a VMON vlive after their concert in Osaka

During vlive #1, JM is wearing presents given to him by members (as he said), one is the shirt and second is the cartier nail ring, which we will then discover, during vlive #2, was a gift from Joon. As explained by Joon, he got the gift early and also gave it to JM early. The members were all except for jimin of course added to a group where Joon wanted to give people a heads up and make sure that they didn’t feel pressured to do anything by this time gifting culture among bts was taking afoot thanks to JM himself.
I know many might want to and had speculated know what JK thought about Joon’s gift but in all honesty, I do get the vibes of him being a person very focus on his own tasks and he was a man on a mission at this point in time. Hence, besides not being it his place to start dictating to his Hyungs what they could and could not give their member as a gift, to be very honest, as he probably was already planning this try trip for a while by then I think that Joon could have given JM a diamond studded cellphone cover and JK wouldn’t have cared.
JM appreciates gifts and affectionate gestures a lot, but what he seems to really love are messages and words of affection. JK knew that by then and he did indeed have a message. So it was that, on October 13, 2017, JK posted his happy birthday tweet and to everyone’s confusion and curiosity he also added the words “It’s not over yet …”

The trip to Japan wasn’t a random “let me gift him a trip”, many interviews prior and after their trip will indicate that JM REALLY wanted to go to Japan. The way I’ve always pictured JK as he decided in his plans of action was JK probably sitting down and thinking, “I’m not the best with words but I have something to convey, what do I do?” In an interview released on November 17, 2017 meaning the interview happened beforehand, and in this case obviously before their trip by the Japanese magazine Non-No, Jimin says:

And so it was that according to various accounts of a Jikook airport citing we know they were at the airport on October 28, 2017 and were definitely back by November 1, 2017 as they had the ”Love Myself,” UNICEF’ new project with BTS, in Seoul on Wednesday. (Korean Committee for UNICEF)” press conference.

By this time, November 1, 2017, JM had no idea what would happen exactly the following week. Even after he’d post his two VLOGs for their dear first trip (November 6), he still had no clue.

So then came November 8, 2017. On this day JK would release his first Golden Closet Film, in Tokyo (GCFT). I wasn’t around at the time, but I can only imagine how excite everyone would have been to see JK’s take of Tokyo through his lenses. Yet as views started rolling in and comments piling up, by shippers and not, one thing became unanimously agreed: Rather than Tokyo, there seems to be a lot of JM.

Eventually we’ll find out that JK, amongst many of his sources, used a “how to make a travel vlog with your boyfriend/gf” tutorial video, which if it wasn’t eye-brow raising worthy already, added to his paying credits in order to use Troy Sivan’s There For You as the video’s BGM, it surly has maaaaany thinking.
Now we can stay here and analyse the song all day but one thing is for sure, every edit/movie/video has a climax, and for the climax of GCFT the clips were edited to match with the following lyric “Boy, I'm holdin' onto something Won't let go of you for nothing. I'm runnin', runnin' just to keep my hands on you. There was a time that I was so blue, What I got to do to show you?” and then for the GRAND FINALE:  “Running, running, just to keep my hands on you. Running, running, just to keep my hands on you. Said, I’m running, just to keep my hands on you. But you gotta be there for me too”. 
So here is what I think, feel and took out of this regardless of me thinking it to be a romantic love: JK had a couple of messages. As we may all know already or not LOVE is not as easy as the 4 letters it is made of, it varies greatly in meaning, display and intensity. However, regardless of the type of love he felt/feels at the time of him creating GCFT he clearly wanted the intended person of the video to know: 
That he’ll be there for them, that he’d been running just to be there for them, but that at the same time, he needed them to be them for him too. 
... I may be mistaken but how many times has JM publicly requested to hear something from JK after this? Feels, to me, like the message was delivered.

bI hope you don’t mind, but I got some advice to ask of you. Haha, been a while since I’ve done that huh? This whole thing’s gonna require a lot of explanation so be warned, this is gonna be long, sorry! 
So I’ve been practicing Witchcraft more actively this last year or so, and in particular I’ve taken an interest in Pop Culture Magic. Mainly just in an “Oh! Seems neat!” Kinda way. But recently, pretty much right after discovering Welcome Home actually(even predating my Barnaby ‘link if I’m not mistaken!), I became fascinated by the idea of Wally as a PCM spirit: what sort of offerings I’d give, what spells one might call on him for, things of that nature. And very recently, last night i believe, i actually decided to do something with that idea.
I won’t go into much detail, because it’s not essential to what I’m asking, but long story short: I successfully contacted Wally in spirit form(whether it’s *my* Wally I’m not entirely sure, but that’s what i was attempting to do), had a conversation via pendulum, and, after promising to paint a picture of him in return, convinced him to do a tarot reading with me about my canon/timeline/whatever you wanna call it. He seemed a bit hesitant to talk with me at first, giving me a “maybe/I don’t know/you shouldn’t be asking this” when asked if he wanted to talk but a hesitant “no” when I asked if he wanted me to end the summoning. Overall he seemed inthusiasticly interested in offerings(as well as the previously mentioned painting, he also appreciated the quartz I offered during the initial summoning and the promise of an apple at the nearest convenience), but not all that interested in answering questions or chatting.
With all that (unfortunately necessary) context out of the way, I can finally get to the thing I *actually* wanted to ask you for advice about. Tonight, I was bored and decided to try shufflemancy. The results were… fascinating? Mildly concerning? You’ll see what I mean:
First, i asked what Wally thought of me/our relationship. My YouTube mix spit out:

The answer seems pretty clear to me. Wally feels that our relationship is purely transactional and that I only called upon him to get things out of him and give him offerings in return. A perfectly reasonable conclusion to come too based on our interactions, but one that made me feel a bit guilty nonetheless. While I’d love to hear your thoughts on this answer, the real kicker is the answer I got for my next question: how should I approach Wally to improve out relationship? I got:

It would not be an exaggeration to say I did a mental double-take when this came on. As such, I asked for clarification. I received the answer:

Upon listening to the above songs, you will probably be able to tell why I need some guidance. It’s probably necissary at this point to bring up the fact that, if I’ve been interpreting my noemata correctly, me and Wally were most likely romantically involved. Or rather queerplatonicly, but in a very affectionate, could-be-mistaken-for-romance kind of way. I’ve avoided bringing it up in past submissions for fear of making you uncomfortable, since in a previous response you mentioned being in love with Wally. But I’m bringing it up now because I think it’s necissary context for this situation, and quite frankly I can’t think of anyone else who I could trust to advise me on this. I fully understand if this does make you uncomfortable and you are welcome to delete this submission if that’s the case(/gen). But, if you do decide to respond, I’d really love some advice on what you think the shufflemancy is trying to tell me. I’d talk more about my conflicted feelings about these answers but I’m already running the risk of sending you a small novel.

Despite my lack of ability to relate, I decided to answer this. First of all, in my noemata quite a lot of the neighbours had something vaguely queerplatonic going on so I absolutely do not hate you for that. In my canon I was close to both Frank and Wally in a more romantic way but I don’t think we ever fully got into a polyamory.
Second of all I’m not very spiritual, so I’m probably the wrong person to talk to completely. I don’t have an interest in witchcraft, at least not in a traditional sense. I believe that witchcraft only works because one believes it will. I’m not sure I actually believe contact can or is made in most cases with anything except the subconscious. I fully support the belief in universes where fictional characters are not fictional. I fully support people who believe they can make contact with these universes. But I don’t believe the latter myself. And if it is possible I’m not sure about the logic in treating them as if they were spirits, deities, or similar? Unless that’s what they actually are? I’m sure there’s plenty of arguments to and for this and I’m not going to involve myself I’m afraid.
If you ask me, I’d say that all version of contacting ‘spirits’ of any kind like this is actually an form of meditation. In other words, it allowed you to reach deep into yourself and receive answers from the back of your mind through the medium of believing to talk to another person. This may be especially so if your identity is only a linktype, as you have created this yourself so it’s spiritual aspects are purely up to your own self.
There’s nothing wrong with believing you can talk to your version of Wally through traditional or neo witchcraft methods and if that helps you, it helps you. I can’t and won’t tell you how to live your life.
But only You can say what those things mean. Whatever you think it means, that’s what it means. If you’re not sure, meditate or work on it some more. I can’t tell you what they mean or that you’re wrong or right because everything you just did relies so heavily on interpretation by the one asking questions. I hope you find something you like, or that brings you more peace. Never forget you’re in control and can stop and change whatever you like.

I have tourettes and I do theatre, I just recently finished the show I’ve been doing, and I wanted to talk about that experience :)
I put a sticky note on my resume explaining I have TS and stuff, so that my directors would know ahead of time. I explained that it doesn’t affect my performance in acting usually because when I am concentrated on doing things like singing and acting then my tics can go away. They were so nice and chill about it and rarely even brought it up really. My tics are usually pretty mild, normally they’re pretty constant but small things (eye-widening, small noises, nose scrunching, head jerking, etc), and I’m pretty sure somehow most of my cast mates didn’t even know I had tourettes until like tech week when offstage I was having a conversation with a cast mate and I brought up my tics and we talked about that a bit. My stage director and music director and stage manager were literally all the coolest and nicest people ever. My music director gave me a ride one time and she’s neurodivergent too and has echolalia and she copied one of my tics and immediately was apologizing and felt so bad 😭 and I kept telling her it was fine lmao. It honestly makes me tear up how thoughtful and genuine she was, and my other director. A problem through tech and run throughs was them keeping my mic on while I was offstage and then the mic would pick up my tics lmao like whistling and popping, and my director asked if someone was whistling backstage the first time and I said it was me cuz I have a tic and she was like “oh ok that’s a tech issue, we’ll have to figure that out, cuz that’s not on you” and stuff. (Also random side-note the old guy who mic’d us gendered me correctly which felt so good lmao you don’t even know). But yeah literally I feel so lucky to get to experience working with the kindest most accepting and accommodating people, because this is the first show I’ve done since my tics have really developed and I got diagnosed, and I’m always worried about people judging or expecting me to suppress, so it was super awesome. I hope every tourettic theatre kid can have as good a company and people to work with

He rambled on for hours of his ideas for casinos and how he was going to marry Karl and sapnap
It sounded great
He had his whole plan set up! He even had Sam helping him with the building
But then he left
Just like everyone else
But that was fine! You were just with sapnap
Before Karl came running over rambling on about needed to move his library
He had a library?
“[Redacted] you need to stay close, please”
You looked at him weirdly

He didn’t even notice it and then you had to spend the next couple days hauling over 100 books

So you all traveled to this area in the spruce forest and built a really ugly mushroom hut
But hey it’s fine! Foolish thankfully came around later that day and made everything better
So you stuck around

Karl started forgetting
At first it was simple things as just forgetting where he was or little stumbles with names
But eventually he was going away longer and longer
He started calling you by these strange names, some that sound Victorian and western and others that are unlike you
One day he didn’t call you by your name at all
You were hanging around the Sakura trees and the big yin Yang pond waiting for sapnap to come back with George
Then you saw Karl exit the library, running up to him for a hug
It’s been two months since you’ve seen him
You fucking hated it but you couldn’t help but consider him another parental figure
He loved it
But he just stood there as you wrapped your arms around him
Expecting the usual “[reda]- Y/n, I’ve missed you so much my sweet flame!”
But there was nothing just a sad one sided hug
“Hello? I’m sorry but do I know you?”
You were ready to cry
“I’m sorry, I uh must’ve mistaken you for the wrong person” “No that’s fine! Hugs are nice?”
So you left and ran into the library
Scouring throughout all of the books until you found them
The same 8 books you shrugged away
You read through all of them along with Karl’s other journals
You didn’t like going through his stuff especially, a whole invasion of privacy
The more you read the worse it got

And why couldn’t he stop

You put all your shit in the locker and followed him through all the safety checks
“I’m glad you didn’t bring anything with you”
You stood on the platform heart racing as the lava went down
It was like a ticking time bomb
The small squeaks and scratches of the hovering bridge
He just stared at you
That sick stupid mask was broken by tommy that day in the black stone room
So you had to look into his face
Lets just say he looks good in Orange
“Barrier up or down?” “Down”
He backed up into the corner as you stepped in
Smiling
Once the lava cascaded down your smile turned into a sick frown
“Hello” is that all he had to fucking say?
“Screw you. Fuck you. Damn you”
He just looked you a small chuckle escaping from his lips
“Those all mean the same thing.” “Well I’ve been living in cinnamon town for the past couple months, and I’m ready to fucking burn some buns”

Someone went quiet

You were pissed, everyone just kept leaving you.

You just sat down ready to just walk out into the lava
“I’ve been stuck here for months! None of you even cared enough to visit me, hell even Tommy came around.”
You might have felt a little bad after leaving him
The prison was cold even tho lava was flowing right there
“Why would you leave the discs alone..” “Because I had to end it.”
What were you doing here

You got up to go look at the pretty clock
Then threw it at his face

The longer you stayed the worse the feeling in your stomach got

He wanted his best friends

You were skeptical but followed anyways

You were confused then just let him be
You walked to the entry way of the place

You hated to admit it, but you were excited to see him

POCKET DUMP: ER scrub pants edition!
This is what I keep in my scrub pants every night when I work in the ER. Yes, it is a lot. Yes, I am a whacker. But almost everything here has been something that at least once I’d needed fast and didn’t fucking have. So; from top to bottom, left to right:
1. Writing utensils, left hip pocket; I carry way too many pens because nurses are thieves. Also always at least one off-color pen for signing things that will get photocopied and ALWAYS a sharpie.
2. IV start tourniquets, hanging from elastic loop below left hip pocket; I keep these here because it lets me grab them fast when I need them and also I think it looks cool as fuck that they swing around as I walk.
3. Lighters, left appendix pocket; for lighting cigars.
4. Retractible measuring tape, back left pocket; Ok, this is kind of another vanity thing. There’s this super old ER doc (like labcoat and button-up shirt old) that always carried one of these, and I thought it was kinda cool. I use it to measure out ortho-glass for postmolds and for laceration descriptions in centimeters.
5. Hemostat thingy, clipped to left appendix belt loop; ok so this thing is kinda fun. I keep two sizes of transpore tape and a roll of durapore tape on this where I can get at them in a hurry, I also keep IV disinfecting caps on it and a bunch of tiny yellow rubber bands that come in handy for all sorts of shit.
6. Waterproof notebook, left back pocket; transferred directly from my tac pants, this now holds phone numbers for different departments in the hospital and a running record board of batshit insane lab values (highest troponin I’ve personally seen was 27108[high-sensitivity])
7. ACLS Cardiac Arrest algorithm card, left back pocket; I keep this so I don’t have to actually memorize Hs and Ts, and also because I’ve written the doses for my ROSC pressors (Levo, Epi, and Dopamine) on it.
8. Pressors dosage card, left back pocket; this was a gift from a hospital pharmacist and might be the one thing on this list that I haven’t had to use (yet).
9. Wallet, right back pocket; Always keep this on me. I think I already talked about this in my other pocket dump post, or I just said it deserves its own post (which it does, gotta get around to that)
10. Extra gloves, left back pocket; always gotta keep some extras.
11. Badge, clipped to right appendix belt loop; so this has my name on the front, and the “Paramedic” rocker along the bottom says it on both sides. The bar code taped to the back is actually a hack that I figured out to bypass a system check in our glucometers (don’t tell management) and I also keep a keyring on the back. The keyring has the key to my break room locker, a restraint key, an IV tubing clamp that I’ve modified to act as a key for our IV pumps, and a few very special reminders to get out of The Hood in one piece at the end of my shift.
12. Leatherman Raptor trauma shears, right hip pocket; these things were a gift, but having used them for years now, I’d buy them myself if I didn’t already have them. Good shit. Worth the pretty penny.
13. Hemostat, shoved through rear belt loop and clipped to pants; these I use for miscellaneous tasks around the ER. Fixing things, clamping lines, temporarily clamping prematurely spiked IV bags, all kinds of shit.
14. Extra roll of transpore tape, right hip pocket; this tape is hard to come by in our ER, so I always keep an extra roll on me
15. 19g and 22g needles and empty 6mL syringe, right cargo pocket; for transferring blood to vacu-tubes or for giving meds.
16. Surgical scissors, right cargo pocket; I started carrying these after we had an emergent birth during which nobody had a good set of scissors for the doc to do an emergency episiotomy with. I use them sparingly and only for cuts that need to be cleaner than what I’d use my raptors for.
17. Flushes, right external cargo pocket; ALWAYS carry flushes when you work ER.
18. J loops and tegaderms, right cargo pocket; always forgotten at the worst times.
19. Mini IV Start kit, right cargo pocket; I honestly don’t know why I have this, because I pretty much carry copies of everything in it already, but here we are.
20. Sureprep wipes, right cargo pocket; Ok, so these are actually pretty cool. They come in Foley catheter kits and are supposed to be used to prep the thigh for securement of the Foley, but hardly anybody actually uses them. I swipe them up and save them because when you get a SUPER sweaty patient come in, these work great to create a sticky, but also aseptic, area to start and secure an IV. These have honestly worked magic for me, can’t overstate how much the medical world sleeps on these.
21. Djarum Black (Ruby) cigars, right external cargo pocket. If my health insurance asks, I’ve never smoked in my life. Truth be told, I only smoke at work, and these things hit like a truck. I like them because after one taste, the homeless hangarounds stop asking to bum a smoke off me. Too harsh even for them. Smokers get more breaks than non-smokers anyways.
22. Bulova Marine Star wristwatch, inside of right wrist; my last pocket dump I talked about my Isobrite watch and how cool it was. I still have it, still use it most of the time at work, but my Bulova is easier to clean whenever I get blood on it or otherwise contaminate it. Bulova makes a pretty stout watch, and this thing has held up pretty well through everything I’ve put it through, and I’ve put it through a lot.
23. Large-bore IVs (14g and 16g), right cargo pocket; these were the first things I started carrying because I realized I needed them in a hurry and didn’t have them. I’ve started carrying them on me all the time, and honestly?literally the most badass feeling in the world to pull a 14g out of your own pocket and sink it into the arm of someone who needs it.

The Azoff Family: A Case Study on one of the Music Industry’s Most Connected Families
(ft. a breakdown of the Grammy voting process and problems)
This is very long so I will try and split it up into categories for everyone (sorry I got carried away- I spent like 2 hours writing this) but enjoy!
*Disclaimer: I want to preface while the majority of this is based in research, some parts may be speculation. I don’t know the family personally so I can’t tell you what goes on behind closed doors but I can tell you how parts of the entertainment/music industry work. I’ve had 5 internships in the industry (one in marketing at one of the big record labels) and the rest of my work is publicity (what I enjoy) and events and a former advisor used to run in the same circles as Irving Azoff (and he spilled some tea last year) I’m not out here to diminish the hard work of any artists or their teams, I’m simply here to showcase parts of the industry that aren’t always shown.*

IRVING AZOFF: NEVER STOP THE GRIND
Let’s begin with the great business man himself Mr. Irving Azoff Irving Azoff is the literal posture child for connections and power in the music industry (he was also inducted into the 2020 rock and roll hall of fame class which is like a huge fucking deal for a manager to be inducted so you know he's the real deal)
In conclusion, I love Irving Azoff and his drive.
Irving Azoff: Early Years Run Down:
He came up middle class (dad was a pharmacist, mom a bookkeeper) in Danville, Illinois
He dropped out of college to run a small Midwestern concert-booking empire and managed local acts in the era
Opportunity came knocking and he got the chance to manage the Eagles and the rest is history
He's one of the best negotiators and has negotiated business on behalf of stars like Stevie Nicks, the Eagles, and Jimmy Buffet
Azoff has been an incredible manager and his drive to always advocate for his clients while basically not giving two sh*ts about what people think of him has gotten him the incredible reputation he has today.
All of Irving Azoff’s Major Job Positions:
Former President MCA (major label)
Former CEO of Ticketmaster and executive chairman of Live Nation Entertainment, the behemoth formed from Ticketmaster’s merger with Live Nation.
In 2013 he and Cablevision Systems Corp. CEO and New York Knicks owner James Dolan formed a partnership, Azoff MSG Entertainment (Currently still CEO)
----> Azoff also ran the Forum in Inglewood under Azoff MSG Entertainment after MSG purchased it in 2012 (it was sold in 2020 to the owner of the Clippers) — why do you think Harry played the forum for the Fine Line show? Azoff connection
Azoff MSG Entertainment encompasses all of the other companies including Full Stop Management, Global Music Rights (performance-rights org), and the Oak View Group (arena developing company)
He also is the co-founder and manager of the lobbying group Music Artists Coalition, a group that helps lobby for artists-rights issues such as royalty rates, copyright issue and healthcare insurance (see he's not all bad)
Essentially what I'm getting at is this man knows anybody who's anybody. He's the man you want on your team to help promote your music, plan your tour, and get you on that Grammy nom list.

JEFFREY AZOFF: THE CHILD OF NEPOTISM
So for those of you that don't know, Jeffery Azoff is Harry's current manager and the son of Irving Azoff (the third of four kids). He's currently a partner at Full Stop Management, the company owned by Irving and the one artists such as Harry, Haim, the Eagles, Kings of Leon, and Meghan Trainer are signed to.
Jeffrey graduated from the University of Colorado's Leeds School of Business and started working fresh out of college at his father's old Management company (Frontline Management) working under Maroon 5's manager Jordan Feldstein (the only way you get that kind of internship/job as a 21 year old fresh out of college is if your family or family friends gives it to you). He worked here for 5 years.
Direct Quote from Irving Azoff to Jeffrey (really tells you a lot): "Listen carefully, because I’m going to say this one time. You have a phone and you have my last name. If you can’t figure it out, you’re not my son."
After working for his father, Jeffrey moved on to the talent agency CAA (Creative Artist Agency) where he worked for roughly 3 and half years before joining his dad in forming Full Stop Management in 2016.
While he was at CAA, Irving moved over clients like Christina Aguilera and the Eagles to the talent agency to help with tour booking instead of doing it internally through LiveNation (he was CEO).
Even though I'm sure Jeff has had to work somewhat hard to get to where he is (or at least to mess up his dad's work as he doesn't seem like the type to take laziness well), the door into the industry and every job was basically handed to him on a silver platter.
Not to mention if you watch episodes of keeping up with the  kardashians (like myself) you can actually see Jeff hanging out with kendall and the rest of the fam at their Palm Springs house (you know you're a nepotism kid if you have an in with the Kardashian crew). Invite me next time Jeffrey!!!

THE GRAMMY AWARDS: STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS ON STEROIDS
Ok so here's where we’re going to get into a bit more of the speculation/grey area. I don't need to tell you that award shows are corrupt (See the Golden Globes Emily in Paris scandal) and the Grammys are not an exception. Think of the Grammys as one big student council/government elections where despite the fact the teachers tell you six times to vote for the best candidate, you're still going to vote for your friends even if they aren't the best.
A simplified break-down of Grammy voting:
1) Recording Academy voting members (artists, producers, musicians- anyone involved first hand with the creation of music; All voting members must have been producers, performers or engineers on six or more tracks of a commercially released album (or 12 or more digital tracks) and record labels will submit nominations in various categories to the grammys (songs need to be released commercially between October 1 of the previous year and September 30th of this year). You can also become a voting member by either winning a grammy or being endorsed by a current voting member (hint hint)
2) Once received, the recording academy with have the academy of trustees and its reviewers organize them and approve any changes to the 30 categories/fields (aka they can add new categories or remove old ones; so no best ukulele album of the year -- this is where things get funky)
There's speculation that during this stage when these special groups of 8-10 people are organizing genres, there's an "unwritten rule" that you need to be careful what album you green light (especially for famous artists) if you don't want them to win) (Rob Kenner said this- he used to be on one of these committees). Famous people tend to get more votes from clueless or lay Academy members that don't know the specialized categories or don't care enough to listen to songs that aren't radio trending.
3) After the nominations occur, Voting members begin their first voting. Members can vote for the four general categories of record of the year, album of the year, song of the year and best new artist and a maximum of 15 categories, all within their areas of expertise. Now the interesting thing is that while these are the guidelines there is literally nothing stopping them from voting in whatever categories they want (i.g. a rapper voting in the opera category despite not listening to opera). Theses ballots are all tallied and the top 20 entries are determined in each category (funky moment #2)
In 12 of the 84 categories those top 20 go to the ballot and it's done; for the rest it’s not like that. 59 categories including the big four go to a "nomination review committees" (identities are protected so they can't get lobbied... sure) who take a look at the top 20 and narrow it down to 7 or 8. (these are the special committees the Weekend talked about when he was snubbed). They're supposed to choose the nominees "based solely on the artistic and technical merits of the eligible recordings" which lets be real if that was the case Watermelon Sugar (along with most of the others in the category) I don't think would have been nomimated as they are very generic pop (none of them are special... sorry to the WM lovers out there).
This committee is basically held to THE HONOR CODE SYSTEM... I mean tell me when the last time the honor code system worked in literally any scenario (literally wtf). Don't take my word for it though the former CEO of the Academy Deborah Dugan (a queen) filed a complaint against the Recording Academy basically claiming that the nomination review process was rigged (she was fired after 5 months on the job).
Quote from Deborah Dugan "Members of the board [of trustees] and the secret committees chose artists with whom they have personal or business relationships... It is not unusual for artists who have relationships with Board members and who ranked at the bottom of the initial 20-artist list to end up receiving nominations."
These review committees can also exploit there power by adding up to two nominees that don't appear on the top 20 list to the final voting ballot (except in the 4 big categories - which watermelon sugar that one wasn't nominated for)
They also have craft committees for like non performance stuff (like album notes, engineering and arranging) that don't even get voted on by the academy voting members
4) After all of that fucked up mess, the grammy's decided is ok, the ballots go back to the voting members for the final vote. Deloitte (an accounting firm) then counts all of them, seals them in envelopes, and delivers them to the Grammy award show.
** The Grammy's just announced this year they're removing the "secret committees" so let's see how things shift in the next couple of years**
So obviously I'm not saying this to discredit Harry's nomination or his win as Fine Line was in the US top 20 albums for the majority of 2020, however, we must acknowledge privilege. Harry has a big name to him and a huge following, and while all of that shouldn't be taken into account, it does. He also has the Azoffs, a very well connected family with friends in lots of places that would be able to put in a good word here and there to get support behind Harry. Harry won best pop solo performance for Watermelon Sugar in a category with Doja Cat, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, and Dua Lipa. Look at the names there, the songs (ya'll can try and remember them cause I'm too lazy to write it out) and tell me that those top names with all of the music produced didn't get there through some connections.
Do with all this information what you will and if you are interested in learning more about the entertainment industry on your own Endeavor (owners of WME, a big talent agency like CAA) is hosting a free online program called the Excellence Program to help guide the future generation of industry executives. 2/17 Practice deep dive analysis

So as they are about to be called to start as the other team has finished, they stop with their little conversation they were having as they lapped the rink. It’s like when they go into dance hold, whenever they are in it they are in ‘business mode’. It’s like ‘ok no fooling around now’ (not that they do), but.. like they are in business mode and they of course are fully serious when they skate around holding hands proper (the handy holdy/pinky hold) but it’s more ‘professional’ in the stricter sense of skating. I hear it in my head (in reference to a different moment where they were switching from proper to dance hold- here they weren’t holding the going into dance hold) as him (or her) saying, ‘ok kiddo, show time. I have to be your partner now’. It’s feels odd to analys it and share my take on it since I have no clue if this is how they actually interpreted it, but it’s like the proper hand hold is more friendly, more coupley, more ‘I want to hold your as close as possible’ where as dance hold is more occupational. I just find interesting to watch them go in and out of that, like as soon as they take dance hold- specifically as they enter for their practice run through/performance, it’s like ok, serious time. And it’s beautiful because they immediately go into that zone and their roles in the partnership are immediately established and they are there to do a job. Ok what it is is: In regular hold they are equals as in best friends who see each other as equal humans who love each other equally but in dance hold they are equals in the sense of their shared responsibility and commitment to their dance partnership and the different roles they both have to execute to perfection. Also this here isn’t the only time- there have been many where they manage to change holds/take hands right in the blind spot of the camera so it’s like a magic trick they are suddenly holding 🥰

The ✨drama✨ as they present. You can tell mentally before they present they’re in it and focused, switched to the same frequency, but as they present they A R E their characters. And what I love about how they have always done this, is the subtle way they set the tone. I’m quite off put by the way many teams do it, whether it’s some ultra characterised entrance (which if it suits the program fair, but often it’s too corny) or a lot of teams would just be overly “sensual” and it didn’t feel real, then others where they had some flashy ‘thing’ as their names were announced then just slumped back over and made their way to position (I can give examples of all of these if you want me to). But with TS it’s all internal - which is the same way they’ve described how they feel and create movement together- it comes from their emotion or the psychology of the program whether it’s them or their characters’ psychology. So here they present and he’s immediately stalking her with a sinister, seductive stare, wringing his hands, feeling that sensuality in himself. Her projecting that tantalising femininity, doing so much yet so little- so much of it is coming from her eyes. It all comes from the inside out with them and because they are physically stunning athletes, so trained, so aware of how they look and relate to each other, that internal self talk/mantra, the story they have put themselves inside they can convey physically- BEFORE they even start dancing.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone talk about how impactful this opening is. I also don’t think I have ever seen them this far apart on the ice in a choreographic sense. Obviously in ice dance, there’s the general rule that you are never to be more than an arm length (so fingertips touching) from your partner (excluding static start/end poses) which to be fair most teams (that I’ve watched) do generally stick to but you do see frequently partners far apart either choreographically or bad tracking ie things like twizzles. Anyway. The fact that they start so far apart is so impactful. Obviously within seconds they get close together and touch for the first time in T H A T lift (seriously what a GOAT era way to start a program). We all rave about how powerful their connection is and they dance so close the intimacy is burning, but what’s so cool is how they can do that from this far away as well. They can quiet an arena to being able to hear a pin drop. Everyone stops what they are doing because it’s as if they are staring lasers at each other. What they can do with literally nothing, just standing 10 metres apart looking at each other.. is insane. The emotion, power, chemistry, etc they project is like nothing else and all this to say is physically this is a simple, potentially nothing opening but what they do with it even before they move or the music starts I don’t think anyone else could- make you feel conflicted between feeling like you are intruding on something very private yet simultaneously unable to look away- and they don’t want you to. 🔥

(I’m just going to use one gif to talk about this but it applies to the whole practice). Something about this run through was just so effortless. I know this is the start but by the end they are moving just as freely and energetic as the beginning. It just looks so easy. So assured. So exact and precise yet not devoid of charisma, humanity, being in the moment. And in writing this I think that’s what they meant by achieving *EXCELLENCE* instead of perfection. (BRB having a mind blown moment).
I love their movement quality; the silkyness, the way they merge out of appearing as one figure- one being and then splitting in two. In moments they do move differently and interpret movement differently- ie in the ‘roxxxANNE’ *head head* moment at the end of the twizzles- there is a slight difference (which is perfectly fine) but in moving together like this here- they were just so made to dance with each other- that statement does not take away from the COLOSSAL amount of work it took them to get to this point, but I feel like you can say they were both made for each other and worked hard to be the best the can possibly be at moving together- those two statements don’t contradict each other. Also the rhythm of the way they move. There is moving musically to the rhythm/melody/beat but then there is their internal rhythm that is connected to each other’s (and it actually is because the make damn sure it is every time before they skate) and that makes up a huge component of facilitating things like lifts- the rhythm of how lifts work and contributes to making it so seamless- neither of them is rushing or doing more or less work than they need to. They are moving together rather then either of them doing more work then the other or against what is natural for the movement to work. As I said it’s so precise and just looks so natural.
… (following on from that point and without wasting a gif bc it applies to the whole thing) the way they emote during this practice is something else. There’s practicing the emotion or faces bc it’s part of the program but then there’s being emotional bc you truly love it and love being those characters- that’s what you feel from them, that it’s so honest and the love of what they get to do just pours out of them whether it’s practice or performance. And I kind of feel like even though this is so incredibly close to perfect, them knowing they are so ready, they are kinda playing with the performance a bit. Esp from him- it feels like he’s just letting go and fully embodying his character to a point that isn’t as controlled as the actual competition performance was.. and how cool that they can do that. Most people you have to drag emotion out of but them… and (side note) there’s that bit of Scott saying (in the context of finding himself as a performer, and I’m also gonna add- not that he said it but I feel like it’s true based on other stuff- he just wanting to do his best for Tessa and be amazing for her) how he might push the acting or emotion further than what he thinks his necessary and that’s when T says ‘that’s it I love that’ 😭 (sorry just take a moment to visualise scootie getting all excited when T says she loves what he did- he always felt he wasn’t the dancer/performer she was so when she says she loves that he trusts her with his life he knows that’s what she wants and loves oh my heart❤���‍🩹). So yeah, them being the performers that actually have to be pulled back sometimes because they give so much- which I was always taught it’s so much better to have to pull back a bit that having it dragged out against your will.

I’ve probably tried to explain what this is before but just let me do it again.. I know to the laymen eye this looks like them being super sexy and seductive for the sake of it and them forgetting they are in public and don’t want people to know about their super hot and sexy secret relationship🙄.. But just use your brains for a sec and remember this isn’t some fake af reality show and in fact they are at the most important event in their athletic careers- their craft and yes, JOB they have dedicated their lives to. They are the best athletes in their sport, meticulously rehearsing the routine that will win them gold.. again. The way these practices work is their music will play in full and they will practice pre-determined sections of the routine with music then before and after do the missed sections without music. The said program they are practicing is Moulin Rouge!, a famously seductive, romantic, sex driven story in which they are portraying very complicated characters with both true and impulse- driven motivations. In their sport of ice dance, it is required of them to act and portray their characters in an understandable sense through movement and facial expressions as well as interpreting the music whether it be instrumental or with lyrics. As part of this story exploration both in the workshopping/choreographic process, and once completed, it is customary for dancers to play with movement that does not become set choreography in the piece, for exploration purposes and even as a matter of being ‘in’ the character and finishing moments off with reactions that are not choreographed, but emerge almost unprompted as a matter of being in the world you have created. THAT’s what this is. They knew they were not continuing with the choreography, so instead, because they are so ‘in it’ they continue with physically bringing to life the internal dialogue they both are reciting in their heads as they dance-dialogue that is far more complicated and nuanced that the 4 minutes of program choreography. It’s beautiful to think about them diving head first into bringing this story to life.. the most important decision of their lives was to find their perfect FD, and they did find it, and it makes me emotional to think about them every day in the early phases of creation, them just exploring everything they could do with it- the romantic parts, the violent parts, the sex and seduction.. creating something from nothing is the most beautiful thing we can do as humans and they had done that their whole lives and now got to create something that was truly setting their hearts on fire. I doubt they ever wanted to leave that place- being in the head space of that beautiful, heartbreaking story and so I don’t blame them at all for spontaneous moments of improvisation where they could just BE those characters. Then of course the moment after is the best bit- how they turn to each other and break and you know how much fun they are having. They LOVED what they got to do and it breaks my heart that people thought they couldn’t just love what they did and that was that- it couldn’t be that simple, and yet it was and the smiles on their faces say it all.

I alluded to this in my super long analysis post on this lift that when they practiced here, they almost did it too good.
What I mean by that is they kinda over popped it. They use to term ‘pop’ to describe their execution of lifts, there is a crucial moment when they both have to be in the exact right place at the right time, use their coordinated breaths, plié, trajectory etc to make the lift happen.
In saying this lift is ‘over popped’, it looks to me like Tessa got slightly more air than she usually would off the back flip launch, causing Scott to catch and rotate her slightly earlier and higher in the air, where usually, there is typically more of a forward and downwards height she is at in the dive where he would begin the anchor point and manipulation of getting her to sitting up. (All this is more easily observed in video format). In this instance any semblance of a typical ‘lifting’ motion is erased (not that this has much of a typical ‘lift’ motion to it anyway) because she has all but launched herself to the height of the (sitting up) lift position. The rest of the movement continues *excellently* and without having scrutinised it like I have it would maybe be hard to tell, but comparing it to the performance version (and this is not meant as an insult or a bad thing) this looks a bit over excited where as the performance (from a movement perspective) is controlled and calculated.
I really want to hear from them the actual decision process for both changing the lift initially for the team event, and then going back to this. I imagine when they got to Seoul for their private practice between events there was a conversation like ‘so we’re going back to the original lift?’ and someone else went ‘yep’ and then they both said ‘yeah F*ck it this is what it’s suppose to be and we want it to be so as long as we do it perfect..’.

This in general is such an incredibly beautiful moment. They’ve just been through this big, traumatic event and it’s like he’s checking her to make sure she’s ok. The way he looks at her the whole time through that circling movement, bends over so far to legitimately take her in- as I said earlier, not just doing it because it’s the choreography, but because he as both Scott as well as his character adores her and is actually taking a moment to let her rest and make sure she’s ok (😢🤧). There’s some really beautiful photos of this moment and it’s one of my favourites in the program given it comes after such a memorable, highlight moment, it’s easy to forget there are beautiful, more nuanced moments that are all critical to the story- not just fill in chore. I also really love how they tried to keep- even if it changed chronologically and choreographically a bit, the moment in the original ending- the moment from Manon when she does the falling angel arabesques then the twist into the fall back and he’s caring her dying body through its final moments, there were times where he would kiss her (body) in that moment and with this it’s a bit different given the position he’s not really able too, but they’ve kept the intention and emotion of that moment in this revised version.
Also just the way he handles her. I know I go on about it a lot and it may seem like I view it as one-sided between them, but it’s not in the respect of a hetro relationship, it’s in the respect of dance partners and duty of care the man has over his woman (and I can speak on this because I’ve had partners that treated me well and others that didn’t) and Scott treats her like a freaking angel. I’ve said before the way he holds her head and anytime he’s holding her in a position where she’s lying back, how important it is in those positions just safety wise to have your head supported properly if not by someone else then yourself, holding your posture/strength correctly as to not injure your neck- which Tessa would 100% be doing anyway because she is so strong and well trained (and now this is where a bit of body language stuff comes in I guess which I am not an expert on) but the way Scott holds her like that- holds that part of her oozes of such commitment and attentiveness to her safety- the way he holds her all the way out of that position to standing straight, like he actually putting her back to vertical, where he has all her weight anyway- she has to do almost no work to get out of it and that’s just an extra (significant) level of care he has over her physically. And yes it’s also in the way he stays so close to her and the way he looks at her with the eyebrows doing */\* thing 🥹

When I said the other day that the thing I go softest over is their utmost and constant care of each other, well also way up there is their love for dancing together. You just know they do- you don’t get a connection like their’s without loving it (T has now said a few times that for a long period of their career she didn’t *love* skating.. but I do believe she loved dancing and skating with him.. just not the sport of skating). So knowing it and being able to believe it is one thing but when it comes out- uncontrollably pours out of them like this it’s something else. The way after the spiral they are basically making each other laugh with how much they are enjoying themselves. Both unapologetically singing, how it seems to have left their stream of consciousness that this is a practice for the ..Olympics.. and not just dancing for fun. So many athletes competing at the olys- the majority know they are not competing for medals- they are there for a PB- time or score and to have fun, and I’m sure they try to soak in the experience as much as possible. For the potentially medaling athletes- the ones with a good chance or are expected to win- they are there to do a job and have a lot riding on their result- TS were the favourites in almost every competition they entered in their senior careers (except for the first couple years) and if not favourites they were never far from the top (never lower than 6th as seniors). They put their whole careers and legacy on the line with this comeback and this result mattered a lot to them, and to many others. So how intimidating must it have been for all the other teams on this practice- 2 low ranked teams, one mid-ranked and one potentially top 5/bronze contender team, to be on the ice with the greatest team in history- expected to take it all, all the pressure on them, to be having THIS MUCH FUN and enjoying themselves THIS MUCH. Being THIS good and having THIS MUCH FUN being THIS GOOD. And in writing this I’m just now remembering how they said (when they came back to competition) that when they were on their 2 year break they would go to comps and watch other teams be taking it so seriously and not seeming to be having fun, and when they came back they wanted that to be a priority. To enjoy it. And they even told each other before every (competitive/performance) skate (but I’m sure everyday in practice too) that they are so lucky to have each other and love what they share and just have so much fun spending their days together and want to enjoy every minute of it.. (Scott- or I guess Tessa, can I please borrow that bucket the rice was in to soak up my tears, please and thank you). 😭😭😭😭😭

Kirby: Meta Knight and the Knight of Hades (Chapter 10)

Morpho Knight swung his sword down the slope, releasing a powerful shock wave. The crescent-shaped waves hit Meta Knight in quick succession.
Meta Knight flew left and right, but his arm was hurt and he groaned in pain. Morpho Knight didn’t even look tired.
Meta Knight remembered what happened in the underworld. In that world, he couldn’t feel tired, hungry, or pain at all. The red knight might not feel any of those feelings no matter how much he fights because of the power of the butterfly of Hades.
If so, does Meta Knight have no chance of winning…?
(No, it can’t be...) Meta Knight gripped his sword and thought. (Those who do not feel tired do not understand the breath of battle. Those who do not feel pain cannot read the movement of their enemy.)
Behind Meta Knight were King Dedede, Kirby, and Blade Knight. Both the great king and Kirby fought desperately, but they had finally lost their strength.
Only Meta Knight was standing. He didn’t know if he could get through this mess. Already, just breathing was painful and his whole body hurt.
(Good. I feel tired and painful because I am alive!)
Meta Knight gathered his strength and jumped up, slashing at Morpho Knight.
However, he repelled it easily.
Morpho Knight slashed violently at Meta Knight’s landing.
Due to his tiredness, Meta Knight, who had been struck before, couldn’t move. He held his sword over his body and guarded desperately, but the damage was great.
His head was fluttering. His eyes were hazy, and his feet were swaying.
(Will I… will I go to the underworld again? This time, forever?) When such an ominous idea came to him, something happened.
“Meta Kniiiiight!”
He heard a loud voice. Waddle Dee’s voice.
Meta Knight raised his face.
Waddle Dee overcame a broken pillar holding something.
“Don’t come any closer!” Meta Knight shouted out.
Waddle Dee turned around, gained momentum, and threw what he was holding in his hand.
“Meta Knight! Here…!”
Something flew through the air. Meta Knight quickly reached out and took it.
Immediately, Meta Knight’s whole body shook. His fatigue and pain disappeared as they were swept away. He felt the power in his hand.
“My treasured sword… the Galaxia!”
It’s unmistakable and genuine. Meta Knight held the Galaxia high. A bright light spilled from the tip of the sword.

Morpho Knight attacked. Meta Knight lightly dodged, shook up and jumped high.
“Spinning Knight!”
While spinning in the air, he slashed at Morpho Knight.
Morpho Knight flinched and was struck down.
Then, immediately, he held his sword horizontally and drill slashed!
Morpho Knight was blown off and struck against a collapsing wall.
Meta Knight had completely regained his power. The Galaxia gave him strength. And the Galaxia was also strengthened by returning to the hands of its true owner. The sword fighter and the sword, united for increased power!
However, Morpho Knight wasn’t finished.
When he stood up, he swung his sword down and sent crescent shock waves one after another. They flew with tremendous speed, but Meta Knight didn’t give up, dodging one after another, getting closer to him.
“Take this-!” Meta Knight swung after Morpho Knight. 
Morpho Knight disappeared suddenly. He escaped with teleportation in an instant. Morpho Knight materialized above and behind Meta Knight.
Meta Knight looked back, feeling sick.
Morpho Knight slid in and rushed through the air.
It was tremendous speed. Meta Knight couldn’t dodge it.
“Kah…!” He was moving before he realized.
He grabbed the Galaxia, held it in front of him, and took a strong stance.
At the moment of attack…
“Galactic Counter!”

A deadly mystery that uses the enemy’s attack power against them!
There was no delay, the timing was perfect.
“...ts!” Morpho Knight stiffened his whole body and his attacks were slow.
The game was on. Meta Knight quietly stared at the enemy.
A streak of light spilled out of Morpho Knight. The lights gradually increased, two, three, and the brightness increased. His mask, his sword, and his wings on his back were swallowed by the white light. The knight turned into a ball of light and disappeared with a burst.
After the knight disappeared, countless red butterflies were dancing. The butterflies flew turbulently, fading little by little, and eventually disappeared as if melting away.

“Meta Knight…”
Meta Knight, staring at the disappeared butterflies, was called and turned around.
It was Kirby. He had been injured in the fight, but seemed to regain some energy.
“Did you win?”
“...Yes.”
“Meta Knight really is strong! I couldn’t do it at all.” Kirby looked a little sick.
Behind him, King Dedede stood up slowly. “Uh… Uugh…!”
The king, leaning on his hammer, managed to support his body and said with envy. “I was supposed to do it… I could’ve mustered the strength…!”
“Didn’t you turn and run?”
“I didn’t run off! I was getting a better vantage point!”
Blade Knight also stood up, in tears. “Meta Knight, sir, wow, you’re safe!”
“Yes. No need to worry about me.”
“But what happened? I could have sworn you were on the battleship Halberd…”
Waddle Dee rushed in before Meta Knight answered. “Meta Knight! You won!”
“Waddle Dee.” Meta Knight turned to Waddle Dee.
“I’m grateful you returned my strength with the Galaxia. Thank you.”
“I just carried it. It was the Galaxia that strengthened you…”
Waddle Dee jumped up. “Wait, we still need your help! Your knights are in a hole!”
“A hole?”
“This way!”
Meta Knight followed Waddle Dee to the knights.

The rescued knights were quiet, even surrounding Meta Knight. Everyone’s hearts were so full that no words came out.
Meta Knight opened his mouth. “It was foolish of me to worry, everyone fought so well.”
“Meta Knight, sir…!”

The Meta Knights wept as if the thread of tension had broken.
Sword Knight said. “You’re the real Meta Knight, aren’t you”
“Do I look like a fake?”
“No! You’re definitely real! There’s a big difference!”
Sword Knight saw Beryl crouching down.
Mace Knight snuck behind and grabbed Beryl’s head.
Axe Knight asked, “Let’s punish him for what he’s done. What do you think?”
“Hm…” Meta Knight thought about it.
Beryl was shaking, rattling. 
Javelin Knight spoke. “Let’s tie him to the bow of the battleship and let him enjoy space travel.”
Trident Knight replied, “Why don’t we send him to Castle Dedede? Let the Waddle Dees take a break and let him do all the castle work alone!”
Axe Knight added, “No, let’s send him to all the towns he destroyed and make him fix them back up again! First, Dreamland!”
Meta Knight spoke. “That’s still too kind. Let’s tie him up so he can’t move and have Kirby perform a song for him.”
“Eh!?” Kirby was surprised. “Why do I have to sing for this guy!? What a waste…!”
“...No, trust me.” Meta Knight told Kirby. “Persuade him with your wonderful singing that he should never do anything wrong again.”
“...Eh? Persuade him?”
“Listening to a wonderful song can change someone’s mind.”
“Oh yeah… songs have the power to move hearts. I see!” Kirby was determined and nodded. “I will sing! It’ll be a moving song that will gentle the heart of any villain!”
“While you’re at it, would you like to serve your home cooking as well? You should make a special dish that will make him cry with excitement.”
“Okay! Looks like Meta Knight is kind to his enemies.”
“Waddle Dee.”
Waddle Dee, who was swaying and listening to the story, jumped up when Meta Knight called out. 
“Ye...yes!”
“I’ll leave it to you. Hold Kirby a concert and set up a special seat for Beryl. Don’t forget to serve Kirby’s special dishes. Have Beryl eat until he is full.”
“Uh… uh… uh, yes…!” Waddle Dee imagined it and nodded in tears of fear.
(Me, Meta Knight…! What a terrifying thing! Kirby’s song is so terrible it could crack the walls of Castle Dedede, and Kirby’s food is so bad he could lose his appetite for the rest of his life…!)
Kirby said with a smile. “Heh, I’ll do my best! Let’s work together, Waddle Dee!”
“Ah… okay…”
“What should I sing? I have to sing with all my heart so Beryl doesn’t do bad things again… of course, I’ll do my best to cook too… Wow, I’m excited! Hey Beryl, I hope you’re looking forward to it!”
“Oh, oh. I’m sure I’ll change my mind.” Beryl was relieved and grinned.
The Meta Knights and King Dedede whispered in the shadow.
“Beryl’s acting like he’s saved.”
“How stupid, he doesn’t know the horror of Kirby.”
“Meta Knight is too cruel. No matter what he did, I’m sorry for Beryl.”
“How could sir make such a proposal…”
“Wow, he’s not kidding around! Good luck, Beryl!”
Meta Knight turned over his cloak and started walking. “Well then, let’s go back to the battleship Halberd.”
“Yes sir!” His subordinates saluted in unison and lined up.

Captain Vul and the Meta Knights were enjoying tea time leisurely for the first time in a long while.
Meta Knight wasn’t there. It seems he had something to do, so he went out without telling them where he was going.
Captain Vul was talking about, of course, Meta Knight.
Axe Knight said. “Even so, it’s strange. Why did Meta Knight, who had been unconscious on the Halberd, appear in the ancient temple?”
Captain Vul replied. “I have an idea, but I can’t quite explain it. I think…”
Captain Vul took a sip of his tea and continued.
“At that time, Meta Knight’s body and mind were disjointed. His body was in a bed in the Halberd here, but his mind was wandering somewhere else.”
“...Huh.”
“Usually, the wandering heart returns to the body. However, Meta Knight is a very strong person, so I think this time his body was called to his heart.”
“...Hmm.”
Blade Knight said. “Meta Knight has a strong body, though.”
“...Well, that is correct. However, if anything, his heart is stronger!”
“Persuasive, if not…” Sword Knight muttered.
“At that time, Galacta Knight took a big hit. Moreover, he was combined with the red butterfly to become even more powerful.”
“Yeah, but what about it?”
“I think I’ve got it. Meta Knight’s desire to fight a strong opponent called to his body.”
“I see, then I understand.”
The Meta Knights nodded.
“Meta Knight’s enthusiasm to fight can be a bit overkill.”
“Hold your tongue. Meta Knight doesn’t like fighting. He likes to make himself stronger.
“Regardless, his desire to fight a strong enemy caused a miracle.”
“As expected from our master!”

Around the time when the peaceful tea party was held on the Halberd, Kirby’s special dinner concert was being held in the basement of the Castle Dedede.
Meta Knight was standing alone in a flower garden of Dreamland.
A pleasant breeze blew and the colorful flowers swayed.
Meta Knight picked up a yellow flower and took a deep breath. It had a refreshing smell.
“It has a nice scent. Pink was… too sweet, wasn’t it?”
Meta Knight couldn’t forget Papi’s happy voice. The whole time he was trying to stop Meta Knight from returning to the original world… At the very end, he was desperate to save Meta Knight. Without Papi, Meta Knight wouldn’t have been able to return to this world.
He wondered, what was Papi doing now? Was he fluttering around looking for someone to talk to?
At that moment, a white butterfly flew by and perched on a yellow flower. It was slowly drinking from the flowers.
Meta Knight muttered in a small voice. “If one day you go to that world, let me know.”
The butterfly stopped moving, as if it had heard Meta Knight’s words.
“I’d like to thank that talkative butterfly with light blue wings. Papi was a good guide… no, a good friend.”
The butterfly fluttered away, and began to fly from flower to flower.
Meta Knight quietly watched until the butterfly disappeared.

Shoutout to my old manager (he’s gonna be called Ricotta) at Ogres grocery store for having the audacity to tell me “Can’t you just finish out your shift?” After I had to stop cleaning to go to the bathroom so I could have my anxiety attack in a private place without being in front of any people that would walk by.
Cheddar also left me alone on a night that an older man came up to the counter and started looking at the things we had on display. I told him that we closed an hour ago (I was cleaning the slicers) but I might be able to help him find something or put in an order for him. He stared at me before he walked over, leaned across the counter and shoved his finger in my face, yelling at me about how he “didn’t serve this country for ungrateful f*gg*ts to refuse service” to him and asked me if “this was the Ogre way? Is this the American way?” before running his cart into the case before he stormed off. I had a panic attack (I’ve dealt with people following me to my car and yelling slurs at me and trying to harm me before) and had to call one of my friends to come and pick me up because I couldn’t get myself to walk out of the store.
Ricotta is the same manager who would yell at me if bakery things, that I was given when I came in for work and had to do in between customers at the deli counter, weren’t finished on time and told me that I needed to get faster (I wasn’t given proper training for the bakery. I watched the Deli/Bakery Head, I’m calling her Mozzarella, do things once and I was left on my own.) because Mozzarella could’ve done it faster. Mozzarella didn’t clean up after herself and would leave things that dropped for closing shift (ahem, yours truly) to clean up.

notes: i started thinking about what langa’s fyp on tiktok would look like (it would be chaotic. pure, utter chaos. that and cooking tutorials. no in between) and then I wrote a lil paragraph for sh*ts and giggles. and THEN it turned into...all of this. also, i wrote this during my study breaks so if the gramma/spelling is off, it’s because my brain is actually fried. enjoy!

langa sees all those tiktoks making fun of that face boys make before they kiss you and he’s like “ew?”
but then he tries to practice kiss in the mirror and he’s horrified because wtf wtf wtf wtf? has he been kissing you like this since you started dating him? why haven’t you said anything?
so when he’s over at your house for a studying session, the both of you sitting on your bedroom floor, you don’t notice that langa is purposely withholding from kissing you because you’re in study mode.
the timer on your phone goes off, signaling for you both to take a break. sighing deeply, you rub the back of your cramping neck and look up from your laptop. you turn over to langa, who’s eyes are glossed over from reading, his hair a mess from frustratedly running his fingers through his locks—he looks like he’s just been shuttled from another dimension.
“i’ve...been rereading the same five sentences for the last thirty minutes” he murmurs, sounding equally as dazed as he looks.
this earns a giggle from you, as you shimmy over to wear he sits. with a sympathetic smile on your face, you smooth his hair down as you coo “poor baby”, before you start giggling again.
langa, whose brain is way too fried to respond, can only stare at you, blinking ever so slowly. you settle closer to him, cupping his cheeks and langa catches your gaze dropping to his lips.
suddenly, he gets a mental image of those god awful expression he saw on tiktok and he’s shaken from his studying induced stupor. Wide eyed, langa wriggles out you grasp feeling a little bad at your confused expression.
“is something the matter?” you ask, frowning slightly. “i’m sorry—”
langa places his hands over your cheeks before you can finish your apology. “close your eyes” he says, straight faced.
you blink. “huh?” you question.
“can you close your eyes...please?” he mumbles, a lot less confident than before. he pouts a little in an attempt to conceal the fact that he’s slightly blushing (you notice).
still confused, you shut your eyes. “okay, but hurry up. your hands are cold—” you stop yourself when he feel his breath fan your face. without thinking, you inhale on instinct. it was embarrassing to admit, but you loved the scent of langa’s breath. he was impeccable when it came to hygiene, so he always smelled nicely. but you loved langa’s scent—it was hard to explain. he always smelled like mint and well, himself. him. him. him. him.
you knew what was coming next, but you couldn’t help but jump when his lips met yours—soft and hesitant. inhaling much more deeply this time, you slightly part your lips and lean into the kiss. langa hums appreciatively and you bring your hands up to grasp onto his forearms.
before you can open your eyes, langa swiftly pulls away, leaving you slightly dazed. you open your eyes to see langa cautiously staring at you.
“why...what was that all about?” you ask, trying to keep your face from twisting into a smile. you give langa’s forearms a squeeze and he drops his hands from your face, resting them on your lap.
“nothing...” langa mumbles, looking everywhere but at you.
he was obviously not telling the truth, and you knew that. but you also knew that the inner workings of langa’s mind was an enigma and if you were being honest, this wasn’t even close to being the strangest thing he’s done.
so you let it go—that is until he’s getting ready to go home.
you’re standing in the doorway, watching langa tie his shoes before he stands up straight and adjusts the strap of his messenger bag over his chest.
you grin. “that was hot”
langa blinks. “what was?” he asks, bending over to pick up his skateboard.
“when you adjust your bag like that” you reply softly, sliding your fingers over the strap before you bring your hand over his chest.
langa’s confused expression melts into a fond smile. you think he looks prettiest like this, smiling so easily with a gentle shimmer in his eye, like moonlight reflecting off the ocean.
“okay, i’ll keep note of that” he replies quietly and you can’t help but giggle at the sharp contradiction between his formal choice of words and the affectionate tone of his voice.
langa continues to softly grin as you giggle.
but then, oh shit, you’re staring at his lip again. langa panics, not wanting to ruin the moment but he’ll be damned if you see that ugly ass expression on his face before he goes in for kiss. but you must’ve seen it before right? did you notice but chose not to say anything out to preserve his feelings? did he really look like a fish while kissing you? a fish?
“all that studying must’ve fried your brain, huh?” you smile at him through half-lidded eyes, drumming your fingers against his chest. langa realizes he’s been staring at you with a dead expression and bites his lip.
langa takes the hand you’ve placed in his chest and grips it. “goodnight, y/n” he whispers before hesitating. “c-close your eyes”
the smile on your face falters as you take in langa’s tensed appearance. you tilt your head to one side. “why?”
“so...”
“so...?”
“i can kiss you goodnight”
there’s a long pause. langa’s grip on your hand has increased tenfold as he stares at you expectantly and he almost looks—nervous?
you blink, still confused, before langa reluctantly continues on.
“just...until i figure out how to fix my face...” he mumbles, eyes flitting off to the side.
“okay, now I’m really lost”
“i—” langa starts before sighing, deciding it would be better to show you. with the hand that isn’t clasped against yours, langa whips his phone from his pocket and unlocks it.
bewildered, you watch your boyfriend closely as he navigates through his phone—for what? you have no clue. off handedly, you think to yourself about how cute his expression is, brows furrowed and his lips set in a tiny pout.
“this, this” he rushes, bringing up his phone up to your face. you watch the tiktok he’s pulled up for you, in which a girl imitates the different ways boys go in for kisses.
you purse your lips in an attempt to conceal your smile, your chest jumping with an aborted giggle.
“oh, that’s—” the sentence dies in your throat when you look up at langa to see his dejected expression. “oh, no no no, langa, no. sweetheart, no”
“we’ve been dating for months—” langa mutters as you cup his cheeks, standing on your tip toes so that you’re eye level with him.
“no, oh my god, langa!” you half-whine, giggling as you try to get langa to look at you. he directs his gaze toward the ground, cheeks warm in against your palms.
“—and you didn’t tell me that I was making fish eyes at you?”
“well, not fish eyes” you offer thoughtfully and langa peers up at your earnestly. you drop one hand from his cheek to grab his forearm, raising his hand so you can examine his phone again. you rewatch the tiktok again. “your eyes don’t get scary wide and you don’t let your mouth hang open like that”
the sigh of relief langa let’s out almost sends you into a laughing fit.
“but...”
langa winces, giving a slight whimper behind shut lips.
“i mean, you do cross your eyes a little—”
langa shuts his eyes, face grim, like you just told him his puppy passed away.
“but it’s really cute, insanely hot, very model-esque!” you rush, but langa hangs his head. you fight the urge to roll your eyes at his theatrics.“there has never been a time in which you’ve looked even remotely mediocre, let alone unattractive.”
langa glances up you.
“but it’s embarrassing...” he murmurs.
“but your hot...”
“i can still be embarrassed!”
“so you agree?”
“agree?”
“that you’re hot?”
langa’s face flushes as you smile up at him innocently. “i...never said that” he mumbles, turning his face from you.
“well if it truly bothers you, we can practice” you offer, gently pinching his cheek.
“right now?” he asks incredulously.
“only if you’d like” you shrug, placing your hands on top of langa’s biceps. his heart beat quickens when you grin up at him coquettishly. “i think you kiss fine, but i can make you into a bona fide kisser if you want.”
“how long would that take?” langa questions. in his head, he imagines that it would take days—weeks, even, to scrap off the awkward expressions from his face.
“hmm,” you hum with faux thoughtfulness, tapping your finger against your cheek. “when is reki coming to take you to S tonight?”
“11:45?”
“i’ll have you done by 11:30”
langa blinks at you, cheeks slightly rosy. then, his face falls into that easy smile, the smile that you love so much.
