5 tips for outlining a story
1) Start by brainstorming your story ideas, and create an outline of the main points you want to include. This can help you organize your thoughts and keep track of the plot and characters.
2) Make sure to include a clear conflict or goal in your outline. Establishing the main challenge your characters must face will help you shape the rest of your story.
3) Consider the theme and message of your story. Making sure your story has a purpose or moral will help guide you and give it a greater sense of meaning.
4) Don’t forget to include details in your outline. While the broad strokes are important, it’s the small details that will make your story come alive.
5) Allow yourself the freedom to make changes to your outline and adapt it as you go. As you explore your story, you may find new ideas or plot points that you want to add.

Miles Edgeworth x Reader - A Funny Twist of Fate
Prompt Given - write me a fanfic for Ace Attorney where Edgeworth is on his way to prosecute a trial, and while on his way to the courthouse he meets eyes with a beautiful woman, Y/N, outside. He gets flustered and she laughs, and he speeds into the courthouse. lo and behold Y/N happens to be the defendant on trial for the murder of Ded Gui, and Edgeworth is absolutely appalled, but Wright is her lawyer, so during a recess Edgeworth approaches Wright and says "If you don't get a Not Guilty verdict for her so I can take her out to dinner I swear to god Wright, I'll never let you hear the end of it"
Fic Generated -
The air was tense outside the courthouse as Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth made his way towards the entrance, preparing himself for another intense trial. His mind was focused on the case, his thoughts filled with strategies and arguments. But as he approached, he inadvertently locked eyes with a beautiful woman standing just outside.
Caught off guard, Edgeworth's composure faltered for a moment, and a faint blush colored his cheeks. Y/N, the woman who had captured his attention, chuckled softly, amused by his flustered reaction. She watched as he hurriedly made his way into the courthouse, leaving her standing there with a smile on her lips.
Inside the courtroom, the trial began, and to Edgeworth's shock and dismay, he discovered that Y/N was the defendant, accused of the murder of Ded Gui. The evidence against her seemed overwhelming, but as the proceedings unfolded, he couldn't help but feel a growing sense of unease.
During a recess, Edgeworth found himself standing face to face with Phoenix Wright, Y/N's defense attorney. Without wasting a moment, he approached him with a determined look in his eyes.
"Wright, if you don't secure a Not Guilty verdict for Y/N so that I can take her out to dinner," Edgeworth began, his voice carrying a mix of frustration and determination, "I swear to God, you'll never hear the end of it."
Phoenix blinked in surprise, momentarily taken aback by Edgeworth's unexpected request. He chuckled, recognizing the gravity of the situation. "Edgeworth, you're actually interested in her? Well, I suppose we'll have to do our best, won't we?"
As the trial resumed, Phoenix presented a formidable defense, methodically dismantling the prosecution's case and raising reasonable doubt. Edgeworth watched with a mix of awe and annoyance as Phoenix skillfully maneuvered, all the while knowing that the Not Guilty verdict he sought hinged on the outcome.
In the end, with the weight of evidence and Phoenix's skillful defense, the verdict was delivered: Not Guilty. Edgeworth felt a mix of relief and triumph flood through him. He had achieved his goal, though he would never admit how much it meant to him.
Outside the courtroom, Y/N stood waiting, her eyes filled with a mixture of gratitude and curiosity. Edgeworth approached her, a rare softness in his expression. "Y/N, it seems we are owed a dinner," he said, his voice betraying a hint of playfulness.
Y/N's smile brightened as she replied, "I suppose I can't turn down a dinner invitation from the prosecutor himself."
And so, amidst the triumph and the relief, Miles Edgeworth and Y/N embarked on a new chapter, their shared adventure filled with conversations, laughter, and a newfound understanding. As they sat across from each other at a candlelit table, the boundaries of the courtroom faded, leaving room for a connection that neither of them had anticipated.
In this tale of courtroom drama and unexpected romance, Miles Edgeworth learned that even the most steadfast and analytical hearts could be swayed by the gentle touch of fate and the laughter of a captivating woman named Y/N.

I asked chat GPT to tell me a werewolf story.
And this is the story it told...
In a small village nestled deep in the forest, there lived a pack of werewolves. They were known to the villagers, who feared and respected them. The werewolves were a peaceful lot, keeping to themselves and avoiding any unnecessary interactions with humans.
One night, a young man named Jack was wandering through the forest. He had heard stories of the werewolves but didn't believe in them. As he walked deeper into the forest, he heard a rustling in the bushes. Suddenly, a werewolf appeared before him, its eyes glowing in the darkness.
Jack froze in fear as the werewolf approached him. But to his surprise, the werewolf didn't attack him. Instead, it spoke to him in a deep, gruff voice.
"You are not from around here, are you?" the werewolf said.
Jack nodded, still trembling with fear.
"Listen carefully, human," the werewolf continued. "You have stumbled upon our territory, and we do not take kindly to intruders. But I sense something in you, something different. I will spare your life this time, but you must leave and never return."
Jack nodded again, and the werewolf disappeared into the forest. Jack ran back to the village, telling everyone of his encounter with the werewolf. But no one believed him.
Days passed, and Jack couldn't shake the memory of the werewolf from his mind. He decided to return to the forest to see if he could find the werewolf again.
As he walked through the forest, he heard the rustling of leaves behind him. He turned around and saw the werewolf approaching him once again.
"I warned you, human," the werewolf growled. "Why have you returned?"
"I...I don't know," Jack stammered. "I just had to see you again."
The werewolf looked at Jack with curiosity. "There is something about you that I cannot ignore," he said. "Come with me."
The werewolf led Jack to a clearing deep in the forest. There, he transformed back into a human, revealing himself to be a young man named Liam.
"Liam," Jack repeated in surprise.
"Yes, Liam," Liam said. "I am a werewolf, as you can see. But that is not all that I am. I am also a healer, and I sense something in you that needs healing."
Liam placed his hand on Jack's forehead, and Jack felt a surge of energy flow through him. He felt his fear and anxiety dissipate, replaced by a sense of calm and clarity.
"What did you do to me?" Jack asked, amazed.
"I healed you," Liam said. "But there is more work to be done. You have the potential to be a powerful ally to our kind. Will you join us?"
Jack didn't hesitate. He knew that he had found his true purpose in life. He nodded, and Liam smiled.
"Welcome to the pack, Jack," Liam said.
And with that, Jack became one of the werewolves, using his newfound powers to protect and heal both his kind and the humans of the village.
Genuinely terrifying, watching this thing generate. I didn't know what to expect, but it honestly wasn't this. Was half expecting it to go a little sexy at about the midway point, but it chickened out.
I give it a 3.5 out of 10.
The prose was a bit bland. I enjoyed the fact that the werewolf had a gruff voice and glowy eyes. Didn't like the whole healing magic angle... but you know what? You do you, Chat GPT.
As always, I enjoyed interacting with a non human entity, even if that entity is just a word prediction machine.
But... yeah...
If you want to read werewolf stuff written by a human, I have a book, and a game coming out veeerrrryy soon.
I don't chicken out.

Unspoken Bonds (spencer reid x reader)
Decided to have chatgpt write me some fanfics and i will be putting all of the results here on my page.
Request: Can you make a 300 word fanfic for spencer reid x reader?
It was a typical day at the BAU when Spencer Reid, the brilliant but socially awkward profiler, found himself captivated by a new member of the team. Y/N, the newest addition to the team, was an expert in forensic anthropology and her intelligence and wit had caught Reid's attention from the moment she had walked through the door.
As the weeks passed, Reid found himself drawn to Y/N's company, seeking her out during their downtime. They bonded over their shared love for books and often found themselves engaging in deep conversations about their favorite authors and obscure facts. Reid was fascinated by Y/N's keen mind and admired her passion for her work.
One day, as they were working late on a case, Reid noticed Y/N looking exhausted and insisted on taking her out for coffee to help her stay awake. Y/N agreed, and they found themselves in a small, cozy café, sipping on hot drinks and talking about their childhood memories. Reid shared stories about his mother's schizophrenia and his struggles growing up as a prodigy, while Y/N spoke about her journey to become a forensic anthropologist.
As they sat in that little café, Reid realized he had developed strong feelings for Y/N. He found himself mesmerized by her beauty, her intellect, and her kind heart. However, his social anxiety held him back from confessing his feelings, and he feared it might ruin their friendship.
But fate had other plans. On a rainy night, as they were driving back from a case, their car broke down in the middle of nowhere. Stranded and drenched, they sought shelter in a deserted cabin. With no choice but to spend the night there, Reid and Y/N found themselves huddled close for warmth, their hearts pounding with anticipation.
As the fire crackled and the rain pattered against the windows, Reid finally found the courage to share his feelings with Y/N. To his surprise, she revealed that she had been harboring similar emotions for him. The tension between them was palpable, and they shared a passionate kiss, igniting a fire that had been simmering between them for a long time.
From that moment on, Reid and Y/N became inseparable. Their love blossomed, and they navigated the challenges of their demanding jobs together, finding solace in each other's presence. Their unspoken bond grew stronger, and they found happiness in each other's arms, knowing that they had found something truly special in each other.
In the end, it was their shared love for knowledge and understanding that brought them together, proving that even in the midst of darkness, love can shine bright and conquer all obstacles. Reid and Y/N's love story became one of the BAU's best-kept secrets, and they continued to solve cases and chase down criminals side by side, knowing they had found a rare and precious connection that would last a lifetime.

Today I forced chatgpt to write a poem about the Moral Orel episode Nature. I gave it a few extra details to work with and this is what it gave me.
TW! FOR BLOOD, GORE, RELIGIOUS THEMES, GUN MENTION AND CANNIBALISM. PLEASE READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION.
"In the hallowed realm of the wilderness, we embarked,
Father and son, united in pursuit of primal conquest.
The haunting echoes of an ancient narrative whispered,
The tale of Abraham and Isaac, their bond, their test.
With eager hearts, we ventured forth into the wild,
Clay, my father, a figure of strength and guidance,
And I, Orel, a youth yearning for validation,
Bound together by blood, by shared ancestry.
The sun cast its golden glow upon the rugged terrain,
Nature's cathedral adorned in autumnal splendor,
And in this sacred theater, our fates entwined,
Weaving a tapestry of revelation and despair.
As we journeyed deeper into the heart of the hunt,
A subtle unease began to taint the pristine air,
The scent of sacrifice, an offering to the gods,
The cruel duality of life and death woven in our steps.
Like Abraham of old, my father wore the weight of destiny,
A divine command whispered upon his ear,
To offer his own kin as an act of unwavering obedience,
To test the boundaries of faith and loyalty.
The sacred blade glistened in his trembling hand,
Its edge kissed by the whispers of divine decree,
And as his eyes met mine, a plea for comprehension,
I saw the reflection of a tortured soul torn asunder.
But unlike Isaac, spared by divine intervention,
I found no deliverance from the hand of fate.
A gunshot shattered the stillness, tearing through flesh,
And pain, sharp and unrelenting, became my crucible.
Blood stained the earth, an altar of sacrifice,
And in the depths of agony, reality fractured,
Visions plagued my wounded mind, a maddening dance,
Clay, transformed into a lupine devourer of his own kin.
Goya's haunting brushstrokes danced before my eyes,
The visage of Saturn, consumed by monstrous hunger,
Clay, now a beast, tearing into the tender flesh,
His own offspring, victims of his insatiable appetite.
In the throes of anguish, I questioned the divine,
The God who demanded such ruthless tests of faith,
Did the heavens delight in the suffering of mortals,
Or was our pain a mere shadow of human frailty?
As I lay wounded, my faith teetered on the precipice,
Not lost, but unraveling, like a fragile thread,
I yearned for answers, for solace in a chaotic world,
To reconcile the monstrous with the divine.
The wilderness became my sanctuary of introspection,
A cathedral of questions, of doubts and exploration,
For I, Orel, no longer bound by blind allegiance,
Found liberation in the brave act of questioning.
Does God exist, I pondered, amidst the bloodied earth,
Or is He but a figment of our longing, our fears?
I did not forsake my faith, but in the crucible of pain,
I discovered the strength to challenge, to seek my truth.
And so, Orel emerged from that hunting odyssey,
Not unscathed, but awakened, with eyes unveiled,
The scars of revelation etched upon my wounded flesh,
With a heart that dared to question, to embrace the unknown."
...Damn. 😐
I like it. A bit heavy on the purple prose but still, nice! 😁

AI is crazy. Like why is it writing fanfictions...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
4 notes · View notes
While your rant about the AI comment is very valid and I get it completely, and you have a right to be pissed about it: these comments are written by bots. It's a coincidence that your fic received one of these comments, they're being posted all over AO3. Don't take it as judgement about your writing in particular.
Prior to me writing that rant, I had no idea the AI bot situation even existed -- I found out through posting my rant to Tumblr about it, so even if it was a not-so-great experience, at least it served an informative purpose. it is impossible for me to say to myself after the fact: "Hey, perhaps you shouldn't have taken that AI bot seriously well before you even knew it was an AI bot." I mean . . . that's easy to say after the fact, but before you know it's a thing it's a bit challenging to parse. ;D Something else I wanted to make clear to build on some of this discussion:
I am not anti-AI, and I also feel that AI serves an extremely invaluable purpose in our current society. Case and point:
I am someone who gets to see the absolute best that AI has to offer in my job. Working with asylum seeking refugees, we use AI so that students can use cameras to translate documents in English to their native language. It helps us communicate in a way that was impossible before; a literal Babelfish. For myself, I take difficult high reading level worksheets they get in academic and use AI to change the reading level to A1 or pre-A1 so they can access the language. :) AI has been a godsend to my students. But tech has always been used for the absolute best, then the absolute worst. Unfortunately I got to experience some of the worst through the experience yesterday. The AI even had insults programmed in that felt far too real, which is kind of astonishing to consider.
So I've seen both sides of AI. I am an advocate for the best of it, but of course there are people out there who won't hesitate to use it for ill purposes as well.
In my line of work, being accused of plagiarism is MASSIVE. As in the kind of thing I could literally lose my job for. So yeah, in my line of work editing, teaching writing ethics, and curriculum designing, being called a plagiarist is among one of the more serious and insulting accusations you can get. I don't exclusively write fanfics, I write in my line of work for my dinner/paycheck.
From where I am sitting and what I do for a living, it's definitely pretty personal to me to sling around a word like "plagiarist" when it is the kind of thing that folks like me who write curriculum for a living can get fired over. I get that doesn't apply to fanfiction, but at least understand where I am coming from when I say that at my job, "plagiarist" is a very serious accusation that comes with grounds for termination -- therefore I don't react kindly to it when it gets attached to my name.
I will say this though, even though it sucked getting got by a bot, I prefer that so, so much more than an actual human going out of their way to write insulting messages to me. :D And if it can save even one other writer the stress/anger that I experienced before knowing it was a bot, in my eyes, it was worth having it happen to me to at least be able to help other writers here learn about it. Anyway thanks for your feedback and for jumping in on the discussion! I'm new to this info/experience, but it was a valuable learning moment for me as a writer and what we now have to contend with.

Got bored and made AI write the rest of a popular post I can no longer locate. Enjoy.
[Bohemian Rhapsody. We Will Rock You. Somebody To Love. All hit singles, and all the direct product of a band that was formed when an astrophysicist and a dentistry major found a new friend in an art college, who then went on to recruit a fourth member from the electronics school. Based on this alliance I propose the rift in society between Arts and STEM students was fabricated to keep us separated so as to dilute our true power - and fabricated by who, you may ask? The business major, the only member of society who reaps no reward from art and science and thus must weaken us so as to stay ahead. In this essay I will]
explore the idea that the supposed rift between Arts and STEM students is a manufactured concept, created to keep us divided and limit our collective potential.
To begin with, it is important to understand the origins of this supposed divide. The idea that students who study the Arts and those who study STEM subjects are inherently different and have little in common has been perpetuated for decades. However, as evidenced by the formation of the legendary band Queen, this is simply not true. The band members came from diverse academic backgrounds, yet were able to collaborate and create music that has stood the test of time. This is just one example of how the perceived differences between Arts and STEM students are not as significant as they are made out to be.
So why has this divide been perpetuated? One possibility is that it serves the interests of those in power. By keeping Arts and STEM students at odds with one another, they are less likely to unite and challenge the status quo. The business major, as mentioned in the introduction, stands to gain the most from this division. They are often the ones who profit from the work of artists and scientists, and by keeping these groups separated, they can maintain their dominance.
Another reason for the perpetuation of this divide is the way our education system is structured. Arts and STEM subjects are often taught in separate departments, with little crossover. This reinforces the idea that they are fundamentally different and unrelated, which in turn leads to a lack of collaboration between students in these areas. This can be seen in the workplace as well, where it is common for businesses to separate their creative and technical teams. This reinforces the notion that these groups are fundamentally different and should not work together.
However, there is evidence that this division is starting to break down. Many schools and universities are recognizing the value of interdisciplinary education, and are encouraging students to collaborate across departments. This can lead to exciting new discoveries and innovations, as well as a deeper understanding of how different fields can complement one another.
In conclusion, the idea that there is a significant divide between Arts and STEM students is a manufactured concept that serves the interests of those in power. By keeping these groups separated, they are less likely to challenge the status quo and demand change. However, as evidenced by the formation of Queen and the growing trend towards interdisciplinary education, this division is starting to break down. As students and educators, we should strive to collaborate across disciplines and recognize the value that each brings to the table. Only by working together can we reach our true potential and create a better future for ourselves and our world.

Tips for writing a vivid description
Writing vivid descriptions can be a great way to engage readers and draw them into a story. Here are a few tips that can help you get started:
Start with sensory details. Adding sensory details to your descriptions can help readers feel like they are experiencing the scene for themselves. Focus on the sights, sounds, smells, textures, and tastes that make the scene unique.
Use descriptive words and phrases. Words like "luminous," "gleaming," "misty," and "frigid" can help bring your descriptions to life.
Avoid cliches. Instead of using tired phrases like "beautiful as a sunset," think of unique ways to describe the scene.
Show, don't tell. Using concrete images and examples can help readers more easily imagine the scene you’re trying to describe.
Don’t be afraid to be creative. Use vivid metaphors and similes to help readers see the scene you’re describing in a different light.
With these tips in mind, you should be able to create vivid descriptions that draw readers into your story. Have fun and let your creativity shine!

Shigure Sohma x Ayame Sohma x Hatori Sohma x Reader - Equal Chances
Prompt Given - Write me a fanfic in which Y/N goes to highschool with Hatori, Ayame, and Shigure Sohma. They're all very close friends, and the Sohma boys are all trying to win Y/N's affection. One day each of the boys goes all out flirting with Y/N, leaving Y/N to choose between them. Make the fic open ended so the reader can choose who Y/N decides to be with
Fic Generated -
As Y/N walked into the familiar halls of Kaibara High School, they couldn't help but smile at the sight of their close friends Hatori, Ayame, and Shigure Sohma. The four of them had been inseparable since they were kids, and their bond had only grown stronger as they navigated the challenges of high school together.
On a sunny afternoon, Y/N found themselves surrounded by the three Sohma boys, each one seemingly vying for their attention. Hatori, the stoic and caring type, approached first with a gentle smile.
"Y/N, there's something I'd like to talk to you about," he said softly, his eyes filled with warmth. "I've admired your kindness and compassion for a long time. You bring a sense of peace to my life, and I'd be honored if you'd consider being more than just friends."
Y/N's heart skipped a beat at Hatori's sincerity, feeling a warmth blossoming within them. Before they could respond, Ayame swooped in, his flamboyant charm on full display.
"Darling Y/N, my heart flutters in your presence," Ayame declared dramatically, a playful glint in his eyes. "You are a radiant star in my life, and I believe we'd make the most dazzling couple."
Y/N couldn't help but laugh at Ayame's theatrics, their heart torn between the sweet sincerity of Hatori and the captivating charm of Ayame. But before they could decide, Shigure stepped forward with his signature grin.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" Shigure teased, leaning in slightly. "Y/N, you have this uncanny ability to keep me on my toes, and I must say, it's quite thrilling. I wonder, would you be interested in embarking on an adventure with me?"
Y/N's heart swayed once again, Shigure's adventurous spirit proving to be just as captivating as Hatori's care and Ayame's charisma. They found themselves in a delightful predicament, torn between the affectionate hearts of their three friends.
In the following days, Y/N spent time with each of the Sohma boys, each encounter leaving them with fond memories and moments they cherished. Hatori's quiet reassurance, Ayame's exuberant flair, and Shigure's playful banter all held a special place in Y/N's heart.
As their feelings grew deeper, Y/N found themselves in a difficult position. How could they possibly choose between three such wonderful individuals, each offering something unique and precious?
In the end, Y/N decided to take their time, savoring the moments shared with Hatori, Ayame, and Shigure. They valued their friendship with each of them, and they didn't want to rush into a decision that might change the dynamics of their group.
So, they continued to explore their feelings, knowing that when the time was right, their heart would lead them to the person who would become more than just a friend. Until then, they cherished the love and affection that surrounded them, knowing that their bond would always endure, no matter what path they chose.
And as the days turned into weeks, the story of Y/N and the Sohma boys remained open-ended, allowing the reader to imagine a future full of love and happiness, no matter who Y/N ultimately chose to be with.

Reading is the Antithesis of AI writing
Without relating, comparing, analyzing, recreating, and vicariously experiencing the nuances of the text offered to you by the author how could the act of reading be complete…
As a reader, I’ll always be curious to know the whats, hows, whos, and whys of a book in relation to the author. Without the writer’s thoughts acceding to or challenging my own, my reading performance doesn’t get a climax.
