Reina's birth

DISCLOSURE:

This texxt has +18 content, mentions of blood, swear words and offensive slurls. Mushi deserves to dissapear, yes I have created a horrible character and his son Kano too.

I have written this scene to give some insight on why Takeo is so protective and caring for his daughter Reina.

-Push Hana, Push!!!- Chio’s voice sounded more like a shriek. The blood did not stop, Hana seemed to be unable to be as dilated as she should to push the baby out. His son, Buna was holding one of Hana’s legs quite up to help her push while his father Hakihiro was holding the other one. They have tried everything, she tried first standing and even at four, but the baby seemed unable to com out. The father, Takeo was at her back holding her with both hands. His black beetle eyes looked worried, his face paler than usual and all the colour of his lips had already disappeared when Hana felt the first contraction. He only saw how his grandmother kept cleaning her completely cover in blood -I can’t… -muttered Hana out of strength, faith, and willpower. Takeo hugged her and kissed her head -C’mon I know you can Ladybug. I know you can do it – I CAN’T – screamed while pushing even harder.

-THE HEAD! – screamed victorious the soon to be great-grandmother. She tried her best to hold the head outside off Hana’s birth canal. -C’mon just the shoulder the rest would be easy I promise – Hana was covered in tears and letting out a big shriek pushed as hard as she could. Then a wet sound and a hard smack on her baby’s bottoms fill the room with more screams and happy faces. The baby breath without problems, not like the sibling before them, not like all those miscarriages. It cried. Chio’s smiles fainted -It’s… a girl. - said holding back some tears. The mother’s joy became sorrow as she started to cry and claim the baby to hold her -I’m sorry…I’m sorry – she kept repeating while holding the baby close to her heart – I’m sorry…- the mother kissed the baby letting the tears flow into the baby’s head. Takeo, speechless could only hold both. A girl would be a blessing…if it wasn’t because she carried the Uzumaki’s blood. He looked down to his wife and suddenly grasp a tiny hand, and even tinier mouth and a fluffy nose. His smile became wider – It is your nose…- muttered lost in the screaming love proof.

-I’m sorry…-kept muttering Hana. The sudden burst in what was left of a front door woke them up from that failed dream. Kano was there – Insects – claimed the Lord. Hakihiro, the head of the family covered his eyes with a cloth while wishing secretly that, that time was not the last time he saw her. -Greetings my Lord – Hakihiro’s voice was on the living room, they were hidden in one of the back rooms. The girl stopped screaming calmed by her mother’s touch and beating heart. Her father started to touch that little hand, he squeezes it, completely absent of what was happening in the next room and the menacing steps approaching them. -IT looks boneless…- muttered softly while squeezing again the tiny human’s hand. It felt softer that his own hand covered in some callous of hard working, he felt ashamed to be touching such a pure thing with such a hand.

-Congratulations – voices Kano. They had their eyes already covered, Buna rushed to cover his son’s eyes, that woke him from his vivid dream. – Boy or girl? – said monotonous. A vile smile flashed in his face – Such long faces…a girl it is. – He approached the bleeding mother ready to take the baby out of her hands. Hana in an act of protection kept the baby closer to her heart, tried to become the tiniest being on earth to protect that life. She kept apologizing to the new life in a low muted voice. Takeo stood up in front of both – The deal was made with pure Uzumaki blood. She is an Aburame not an Uzumaki – his voice was deep, his eyes hidden under that cloth shone with anger. He would not take her from him.

-It is not my problem that you fuck up pest. Who would have thought that insects could breed with humans. Does she have antlers? Or maybe four arms? – he was enjoying it – The thing comes with me – he tried to elude the giant, but he just need to move swiftly to his direction to stop him from coming – Get out of my way filth – Takeo did not move, talk, or show any signs to be completely sane.

-My daughter stays here

-Under which premise? Uh? Has she developed a dick while we talk? I don’t think so

-The deal is with the Uzumaki’s not the Aburame’s

-Care shit about who the hell sign those bloody papers!

A cane hit the tatami. Kano’s father, Lord Mushi. His back was already bent although he was younger than Hakihiro, but a life of excess already hit him hard. – What seems to be the problem with him, faggot? – that was the name that he gave to Hakihiro. – As my grandson states, my Lord, the deal that your noble clan made was with Uzumaki’s and here we only have Aburame’s.

Mushi touched his moustache thinking about it – The way I see it we still have her aunt, but soon she would need to step for her. She is already too used, and people are starting to complain about her, although…she can keep up the rhythm of not just the visits but also the seals… - He got closer to the mother, her blood kept flowing non-stop. Takeo stood in front of Mushi – It is not a wise choice to rebel… would you like to change the deal Aburame? – he looked the man right in the eyes- I would allow the creature to stay under this… - he looked up – kinda of roof, until she starts her bleeding. That would be the sign that her body is ready to fulfil the duty of bringing more seeds for our shelter. But… I need something in exchange… - he pondered around the room – I need if… Think about what people would say if I do not bring the promised seed. I need something that proofs that this seed is special and needs your kind’s care. – he looked at the man once more – I need to proof that she is worthy, give me a hand thinking about it, would you? – his smile showed some blackened teeth. – I have heard rumours that your clan is impossible to touch – he got near Chio – that your insects sometimes act just by instinct protecting what the host cares – he tried to stab Chio but a swarm of insects stopped the knife.

-If she is so worthy… I should be able to cut your arm. Your hive should be able to care for her more than they do for their host, shouldn’t they? Bring me an axe – Kano immediately went looking for one in the backyard. Takeo did not blink nor thought of any other idea, if that thing needed his arm so he could have his daughter, he would give it both. He took of his jacket – My Lord – ventured Buna – I don’t want the whimper’s or the faggot’s arm! – he pointed at Takeo – I want the man’s arm.

Once he took off his jacket his buffed physic showed off, broad shoulder and arms. His face did not show any sign of worry or fear. Kano brought the axe, and his father held it -Which one are you going to give me? – said with a putrid smile. The fact that Takeo did not say anything nor gave any sign infuriated Mushi. That man was ready to lose his arm, he did not fear the Lord he never had. That piss him off. He let out a yell taking all his strength to raise the axe to cut off the Aburame’s arm of, he hit him just below the elbow. Takeo did not flinch, his insect did not stop the axe. He was focused, controlling his hive towards his biceps, there the kikaichu had already started to cut of the nervous system connections to avoid all the possible pain to their host. However, that not meant that Takeo was feeling and suffering the cutting, he felt it, but his will was stronger that Mushi anger towards the shinobi. The kikaichu were also working on the blood lost that he was about to suffer. The axe kept going up and down. Hana whimpered – Takeo…Takeo please…- Her husband did not say anything, Buna got closer to her and hold her tight, Chio did that too, trying to comfort the child. Mushi’s face was vile full of enjoyment seeing the man losing his arm,, hearing the whimpers of the woman and feeling the hatred that those insect were irradiating. He enjoyed, a lot.

He through the axe to the floor, nothing but a thin meat line held now Takeo’s forearm to the elbow. Mushi wanted to feel the pleasure of cutting it himself with the knife. He took the forearm with a bright smile – So, Aburame’s can get cuts. Interesting – he rose up and left their home. Chio rushed to attend her grandson, he had lost tons of blood. His eyes started to fail him. Hana crawled towards her husband full of tears. She held his arm and started to pain his face full of kisses. -My dear, please no… my dear – the woman’s voice started to faint, she has also lost blood. Both were about to faint together holding their child closer – What is her name? – muttered Takeo – Not a flower please… - whimpered Hana – Reina – said in a subtle voice. Takeo gave them a feeble smile- Aburame Reina. – a faint laugh. He took again that tiny hand between his finger – Welcome home, my Ladybug

as someone who did well in school here's what I learned:

I only need to remember something until the test on it comes out and then I wipe it from my brain either FOREVER or just re-learn is next year/when it becomes relevant

Naruto Rarepair Week

This event is Tumblr based - you’re welcome to host your content elsewhere, but mods will not be creating any collections on AO3 or other platforms. Feel free to host your content elsewhere and share a link on tumblr for us to promote/reblog!

This is a week long event for Naruto rarepairs. Our criteria for what makes a pair rare is if it has less than 400 fics in the ship tag on AO3. No, we will not look at popularity on other platforms. No, we will not make exceptions to this rule.

New fanfiction and new fanart qualify for this event. Gif sets qualify for this event. Continuations of other stories or comics do not. Moodboards, playlists, and other content do not. This is not to diminish the importance of such content in fandom - the mod team is simply small and could not keep up with everything if everything was allowed.

AI art/fics/anything Does Not Qualify For This Event. If you are caught submitting AI creations, you will be permanently banned from this event and any event this mod runs.

Creators must @ this blog and use the proper tags in the tag section. Tumblr is notoriously shit, please help us make it easier to actually find your stuff.

If your blog has the ‘adult content’ warning, there’s a good chance we might not be able to reblog your stuff. @-ing and sending us links might help, but if you reblog a lot then it means a Lot of scrolling to find what you created for the event. Just a head’s up there.

Another warning: Mods will be much less strict as far as tagging goes in 2024 and onward. Follow this blog at your own risk, and follow the rules Don't Like, Don't Read. The only tags that will be required are ship tags and 'NarutoRarePairWeek20XX' (XX being the year of the event, ex: 'NarutoRarePairWeek2024' for the year 2024)

An outline of how the rules have changed from last year is detailed below the cut, as well as why these changes were made.

What qualifies as a rare pair has been updated from 300 fics on the AO3 tag to 400 ships on the AO3 tag. This is because, as time passes, all ships naturally accumulate more fics. We do not believe it would be fair to not ever change our benchmark. This means that ships that were disqualified in previous years might now qualify for the event, so please read the disqualified ships list carefully.

Gif sets now qualify for this event. Though we are still a one-man mod team, participation in this event has dwindled a bit over the years and we believe we'd be able to keep up with art, fics, and gif sets.

AI art/fics/anything is banned. We will not be discussing the morals of AI art here, and we will also not loosen our stance on this matter. If you use it, you're banned.

Our tagging system relied heavily on reblogging from participants and clicking their tags, and despite attempting to clearly and concisely lay out how exactly to tag posts for the event there has always seemed to be confusion around it. Going forward, we will only be asking for two tags in the tag section. We will not reblog any post that does not have the ships tagged, but everything else is being reblogged without additional tags from the mods. We are, as stated above, a one-man mod team, and we cannot look through every post/piece of content to tag it. It will be up to you to curate your own experience in this event and on this blog.

NARUTO UZUMAKI MADE ME TRANSGENDER: I SAW THE TV GLOW

Do you remember the first time someone called you a faggot? The first time I remember it was at school - muttered and spit in my face like acid, too young for me to understand. I understood the feeling behind it of course, there was something in me that other people didn’t like. I walked wrong, I talked wrong, I acted wrong. Even my family could see it on me, but they tried to not speak it. It wasn’t something adults talked about, and it certainly wasn’t something I wanted to talk about. And so I didn’t for two decades. I lived life inside myself and for myself, both ignoring myself and obsessed with myself. I retreated from life and found fandom right here on this very website.

I SAW THE TV GLOW is neon and scanlined. It is a film that loves fandom. Owen and Maddie are teenagers who live in eternal suburbia and their lives and home are so unimportant, so of a thing, that no details are ever offered to the audience. The film focuses on Owen, a sad and scrawny thing of a boy completely unremarkable in every way. He’s not particularly likeable or smart or lively. He’s scared and dumb. Early on he meets Maddie, an older girl dressed so dark and with such an annoying chip on her shoulder she could have been a rejected design for a Goth Kid from South Park before shuffling her ass down to Void High. She’s annoyed by him at first of course, everyone is. Owen immediately is struck by her and asks her about the television show he finds her reading an official episode guide for - The Pink Opaque. Fandom given perfect, Buffy-tinged, VHS-blessed form. Owen and Maddie love this little show about two girls who barely know each other yet somehow share a supernatural and beautiful connection – tied via magic and psychic powers. Owen and Maddie sneak and lie in order to watch the show together. They never form a real friendship – and the time and things they share have to be done in the dark under the nose of the adults in their lives. In the Pink Opaque, Tara and Isobel have to claw a relationship in the dark psychic realm, Maddie and Owen do so in the in dark TV glow. Owen loves his mother and is scared of his stepfather. Maddie’s father drinks a lot, and she runs away in her junior year. Owen’s mother dies of lung cancer when he’s 16. Mine died when I was 19.

Owen loses himself in the Pink Opaque. Initially he watches the show alone off VHS copies Maddie makes and leaves for him in their school’s dark room but eventually, before she leaves, he watches it with her. She asks him to go with her and Owen agrees. He doesn’t go and his world is bleaker for it. Years pass and Owen works a gravedigging job where little by little, day by day, he kills himself. That’s right – he works for a local movie theater. Eventually, Maddie returns to their horrible little town, and this is where I knew Owen was transgender. Like me. Everyday he persists in pursuit of a life that isn’t his and an identity he’ll never have. Years go by, the world exists and grows and you’re still pouring a suburban family their popcorn. Maddie, she doesn’t go by that name anymore but Owen never gets to know this person who was once his only friend, returns and gives Owen a golden ticket out of Kansas and straight to Oz: they actually are Tara and Isobel! They were defeated at the end of the show and buried alive, and to retake their true selves they just have to bury these lives. Maddie has already previously helped Owen bury part of this farce he calls a life; years ago, during those fateful Pink Opaque viewing sessions, she gave him that very first drop of gender and put him in a dress and told him he was pretty. Owen never learned to give himself that and so he runs from Maddie again.

Like Owen, I spent much of my life hiding inside the television. Why live in the world that exists when I had bad anime and worse fanfiction? There, I could be and experience anything, all of it affirming and welcoming. I was hollow, but at least in some sense, I also felt like I was safe. Of course, that safety was bullshit. For faggots like us, I think it always is.

I SAW THE TV GLOW is monochrome and buzzed. It is a film that hates fandom. Owen persists. He has a family, he says he loves them, and works at a local Chuck E. Cheese-type fun center. Like the movie theater but longer. For Owen, dysphoria is like death but longer. One night, Owen narrates to us his sad little life and decides to rewatch the Pink Opaque as his new self and he fucking hates it. Its cheap, annoying and embarrassing. This thing that meant so much, that Owen used to convince himself closeted life was fine, losing Maddie was fine, as long as he had this thing – it was stupid. The Pink Opaque made Owen transgender and here he was 30 years later, transgender in a world that was decisively not. He has a breakdown at work and sees the television glow in himself.

Finally he asks: what if I really was someone else, very far away, on the other side of the television screen?

Unfortunately, I don't know many fics centering around the brothers either. I've mostly come across the ship-py fics or the ones with their characterization way off the mark or them not being the main relationship of the story. I love other characters too (Naruto, Shisui, and Kakashi for example) but I want to read the stories that focus on Sasuke and Itachi. They're hard to find.

A Way Back Up is an ongoing fic that fits your description and I'm currently reading it. It's about adult Sasuke accidentally landing in the past and finding teen Itachi. It's a bitter-sweet story about Itachi dealing with... everything, and Sasuke, now all grown up, empathising with the brother he hated as a teen. I'm still not sure how it will end (I hope it's a happy ending), but I love interactions between the brothers.

People who are always away with business and psychically absent from the kid's life most of the time + children =/= family.

People who aren't present in their lives of the kids aren't parents; they're breeders.

If you have children, BE there for them, rear then. Children need the physical presence of their parents in their lives; the rest is just purely poetical-garbage propaganda with "oUr bOnD iS StRoNg".

For emphasize and parallel with the abominable natalist propaganda, Boruto manga, the following are NOT families:

1. Uchiha family is NOT a family and Sasuke is NOT a father, period. Whoever argues against is just an irresponsible, brainwashed natalist.

In fact, the forced natalist garbage ruined SasuSaku and tore a potentially amazing and meaningful romance to shreds.

Sasuke has no fatherly bone in his body and Sakura acts exactly like a desperate woman getting pregnant to trap an unconcerned, troubled man into a marriage. This couple as it's portrayed in Boruto is pathetic. The only glimpses of intimacy and romance are in fanfiction universe, the non-canon amateurish novels and the imagination of the natalist fans.

From an adult's standpoint, Sakura is a single mother having a kid with a man who can't find a purpose in his life, has severe psychological damage and is an ex-convict. I can't comprehend how women can side with Sakura and actually praise this pair. What woman would you want to be a single mother and the wife with a man who's never beside her? The fact that literature glamorizes such toxic relationships and glosses it over like something inspiring and romantic is alarming and sheer propaganda.

I'll never be able to come in terms with this abomination of the ending.

2. Uzumaki is NOT a family and Naruto isn't a father, period. He's married with his job and enamored with the idea of fathering the entire village. His biological kids aren't, in Naruto's view, anything more special than the rest.

If there's a remnant of decency in Hinata's body, she should just divorce Naruto and move back home where her kids would get a sense of family. The constant drama with Hima and Boruto constantly being dumped by Naruto should be a wake up shout out to every young person who aspires to have kids ; parenthood implies commitment, personal sacrifices and it's simply NOT FOR EVERYONE.

The only functional, normal and healthy family is... Akimichi. My respect to Akimichi Choji for actually being a father who's there for his kid and supporting his kid and wife.

Nara family... It could work... For humoristic purposes or an uninspired satire. Shikamaru admitted in the novel that he'd do better without kids.

Yamanaka... Not that bad. Sai is an underrated character and a good father.

Nothing justified the absence from a child's life. The rest is purely unadulterated natalist propaganda.

I don't want to hear the imbecile "ThEy dEsErVe tO bE hApPy" bingo. This toxic selfishness of natalists reinforces the fact that not everyone deserves to have kids. If one cannot put the kid's INTEREST FIRST, then he isn't suited to parent.

my name is hesperos wingrove, i am trans + nonbinary (they/them), and i am an artist, writer, and worldbuilder, among other things.
