That show getting canceled saved that blonde woman from so much shit that would had come in her way LMAO In a way I can enjoy to picture her Zionism being even more public bc of the show getting mainstream, but still, thank God it doesn't exist at all

The producers/whorever was the director of it really saw the Problematique approaching – with the weird and out of place sex scenes, Racists Rethorics, the badly represented LGBTQ+ characters, the Alpha Male energy she loves on men and projects in characters that would had NOT sit well considering how shit has been going for feminism this year, "female and male".... trans people/allies/actual feminists trashing her to pieces oh I can see the vision it's so good, the whole damn Pregnancy Plot, Racist Rethorics, extremely badly treated SA trauma, addictions demonized (nesta spiraling), and the whole racist-xenophobic connotations she gives with the Illyrians: Racists Rethorics to the max, and much much more.. – and said "mhmmm you know what... I don't think you want this to go mainstream right now lady" and they where RIGHT

They saved her ass from media trashing actually and now she lives another day...

I heard from a friend of a friend who knows someone who’s working with Hulu that they decided to give Lucien more lines and scenes in the first season because he was too hot for this not to happen.

So Marketing person here again…

I don’t think the show is happening…

The market is saturated. We are seeing it on Netflix and Amazon and Disney plus that these shows are too much to choose from right now so they are not pulling in the viewership they used to. They are also a lot of money to make.(compared to horror, thrillers and contemporary romance) shadow and bone had a massive budget and marketing costs. So there is only so many per huge streamer platform they can make. Also these companies have already dished out a lot of money for shows that did not perform :

The LOTR was popular but the viewership is taking a huge hit for 1 billion 😳

Goldden compass (hbo) - did not get renewed

Wheel of time (Amazon)- not a huge as they thought lots of money

Vampire academy- one movie and did not get another

Disney is struggling with their star wars and Marvel shows for the amount of money they are putting in and not getting the same viewership as these contemporary thriller shows.

A lot of the streaming services are condensing because the market has gotten so huge essentially splitting the pot of money each company is getting : disney, peacock, paramount plus, Amazon, neflix, Apple TV. So they have to consolidate their resources on a couple of huge shows. Right now I don’t see a place for ACOTAR where it can be done justice. (Having people with bat wings - lots of money for CGI)

I also think that a lot of shows that were in preproduction were cut because of the above. We know that some shows/movies were cut in postproduction 😳 which is bad.

Thats just my thoughts on the show. I personally don’t think it’s happening but I could be wrong. Depends on copies sold of the next books…

So....I don't know.

I was just recently reading an article about how Hulu is the only big streaming service that doesn't have any fantasy series.

Now, what I think about the over-saturation thing--you are correct. There is ENTIRELY too many of these Star Wars and Avengers...everything. Movies, shows, etc. and as a person who is not interested in either, I do see an endless stream of the sameness that constantly pops up.

I think what WILL make a difference are ratings and monsters and whether this will appeal to men as well. Now, I firmly believe that no matter what people say, sex sells and the shows that are rated as Mature do a lot better than teen-geared shows. So GOT, The Watcher, Vikings (which was on AMC! but was super violent and skirted around a lot of sex), the Last Kingdom, even Outlander are all full of t&a and violence and get renewed and watched for many seasons.

I think with fantasy, people want to watch stuff that's kinda unhinged. If they make ACOTAR Rhys, for example, really dark, very malevolent, very gray, but at the same time, appealing and attractive--that's already half the battle.

I think in fantasy, baddies are okay. Morally gray characters are fine. You root for murderers sometimes. I think it will depend on how everything is presented. If it's the usual YA, fade-to-black, fake blood bullshit, it will fail. But if it makes people talk, like GOT did, where something riveting happened almost in every episode, then I think it could work well.

I think the way *I* would start episode 1 is with the Middengard Wyrm battle. Like mud and blood, and horror and this thing chasing this girl, and these weird people are rooting for the Wyrm. And it's underground and there is a lot of confusion and terror.

Pause.

"How did I get here?" (in Feyre's head)

And then you kind of go backwards, and start the story of her killing the wolf.

I think something like that can set the stage really well.

Ngl, I kinda am interested in the show. But we shall see.

You ran up to Luke from behind, wrapping your arms around his neck, “Hey, hero,” you greeted, kissing his neck with a smile.

You were a daughter of Poseidon, you’ve been dating Luke Castellan for four years now, you arrived at camp a couple months later than Luke.

“Who’s this?” you said, directing your gaze at the unclaimed Percy.

“Percy, he’s the one who killed the Minotaur,” Luke said as he leaned his face into your forehead, “Be nice, it’s his first day.”

You smiled, unwrapping your hand from his neck, “I’m always nice, that’s why everybody loves me,” you joked, as you walked in front of Luke to shake Percy’s hands.

“I’m Y/n, Poseidon’s,” you held out your hand with a warm smile.

“Percy,” Percy said as he shook your hand.

“What do you think?” Luke asked as he wrapped his arms around your waist, kissing your hair.

You and Luke have a tradition of guessing the Godly heritage of new campers, and so far, you were always right.

“Hm,” you said, “Has your mom ever said anything about your dad?” you asked Percy, “Hey, you can’t ask,” Luke said.

“Uh- No, I don’t think so.” Percy said.

“I say Poseidon,” you whispered in Luke’s ear as you sent him a wink and walked away.

“Earthshaker, Stormbringer, Father of Horses. Hail, Perseus Jackson, Son of the Sea God,” Chiron said.

You rushed up to where everything was happening, just in time to catch the fading trident above Percy’s head.

You quickly scanned the crowd for Luke, just to find that his eyes were already on yours. You sent him a victorious smirk.

You walked over to Percy.

“Well, I guess you have a sister now,” you said with a smile. “Yeah,” Percy flashed you a polite smile.

“Welcome to the family!” you patted Percy on the back, “Thanks,” Percy said, a genuine tone in his voice.

You were about to go clean up and make some space in the cabin for Percy, when you saw Luke coming over, “You owe me two days of dessert, Castellan,” you smiled.

“You win, again,” he sighed with a smile, “I really thought I would in this time.”

“Were you guys placing bets on me?” Percy asked.

You smiled, “Mhm. Tradition,” you sent another smirk at Luke, “And so far, I’ve won almost every single time.”

“You knew I was a Poseidon kid?” Percy frowned.

“You have dad’s eyes,” you gave him a smile.

“Come on,” you gestured for Percy to follow you, “Luke will help you with your stuff, I’ll go clean up the cabin.”
