I'm gonna be unbiased here. Yall know I believe Elucien is endgame. But Guilty as Sin? That's not an Elucien song. No matter what angle you look at it. It's an Elriel song. In fact it's the fucking anthem. (I can be an Elucien shipper and state this. If you don't think I can, the unfollow is right there)

I don't know, just like nobody but sjm, knows why she choose that particular song out of all 31 songs to thank as a gift for the album. Perhaps it's because it's Taylor's horniest song to date and is just fueling the words. Perhaps it means more.

IF. IF it meant more it's not about Elucien. Elain wouldn't haven sinful thoughts and feel guilty about them towards Lucien. That's her mate it's normal. But she would be about Az.

Same with Lucien, granted he might still feel guilty about Jesminda but it's been a couple years since the mate reveal. We don't know how much guilt he carries when it comes to thinking of Elain. Again these aren't sinful thoughts. Guilty sure. Not sinful

Also, the song lyrically depicts being in bed with your partner and having thoughts, especially sexual of another person. Which doesn't apply here.

It does, however, apply to both Elain and Az because neither one should be having these thoughts about the other. They both are fully aware they're in the wrong and yet still want each other whether it's just to fuck or be together. Personally I think just wanna fuck but hey.

Annnnd to bring a little chaos in the mix it might not be referring to Elain at all and just a warring inner concept which would point to Gwynriel. Gwyn having these thoughts and fighting against it, trying to ignore them for whatever reason. Again, I didn't think Gwynriel at all when I saw the post. That could be because it's not a ship I think about.

Bone carver theory part two:

When Cassian sees the bone carver we don’t get a description of what he sees, only that he is in shock by who it is.

My original bone carver theory: The bone carver takes the form of a person with a secret that you don’t know until it’s too late.

I’m wondering if the bone carver appeared to him as his mother….

In the books Rhys, Azriel, and Cassian are all the most powerful Illyrian warriors basically EVER. Both Az and Cassian require 7 siphons to channel their magic and strength.

- Rhys’s power comes from his royal bloodline

- Az’s power has something to do with his shadows

- So why is Cassian ( a supposed bastard) so freaking powerful?

I think that his mother never told him the truth about his father and his father is possibly part of a powerful bloodline of lords or royalty or something. Which is part of the reason he was so quick to dismiss Cassian’s lower class mother.

In the books the bone carver also calls him “the prince of bastards” so maybe Cassian’s bloodline makes him a prince?

Which would also be interesting cause Nesta’s mother always said she would marry a prince…

Boy, it would have been a WAY better story if Rhys muddled with Feyre's mind to THINK that Tamlin never truly loved her and she went on to accept the mating bond only to realize later what actually happened. And then two options, 1) By then she's too far gone, too much in love with Rhysand that she'd forgive him and fix things and stay with him or 2) She can go back to fix things with Tamlin because there were issues there too.

Because Rhysand messing up this way seems so much more IC than a retcon of ACOTAR Tamlin.

Also a secret third option of Feyre staying single would be great.

The Truth-Teller/Hofas Spoilers

It seems like people are hung up on Enalius possessing the TT in order to serve the Illyrian plot for Azriel, but in fact, that's selective reading. Let's see what is written in the books.

My sword blazed with light. That dagger shone with darkness. Both of them are crafted of the same black metal. Iridium, right?" She jerked her chin to Azriel, to the dagger at his side. "Ore from a fallen meteorite?" Azriel's silence was confirmation enough.

=Both blades are made from the same material of a fallen meteorite.

My father had never shown himself to be giving-long had he kept Gwydion and never once offered it to my mother. The dagger that had belonged to his dear friend, slain during the war, hung at his side, unused. But not for long.

Theia extended her hands toward the water, the offered blades. And on phantom wings, sword and dagger soared for her. Sum- moned to her hands. Starlight flared from Theia as she snatched the sword and knife out of the air, the blades glowing with their own starlight.

My mother returned that day with only Pelias and my father's blades. As she had helped Make them, they answered to the call in her blood. To her very power.

Conclusion: The Starsword and the Truth-Teller were both created in the same manner, crafted by Fionn and Theia. Fionn likely gifted the Truth-Teller to his best friend Enalius during the great war when Illyrians fought against the daglan to prevent them from reaching the Cauldron atop Ramiel. After Enalius's death, Fionn simply took his blade back.

_Azriel's secret lineage:

My mother eventually trusted only Helena and myself to seek the truth. She knew we could be of great use to her, because we bore the shadows as well as starlight.

=The blades simply represent both powers of the Dusk Court people: light and shadows.

We spent a month hidden in the enemy's stronghold, no more than shadows ourselves.

Doesn't that remind you of this :

ACOMAF:

“Like the daemati,” Rhys said to me, “shadowsingers are rare—coveted by courts and territories across the world for their stealth and predisposition to hear and feel things others can’t.”

=Daemati (mind reading) and Shadowsinger abilities are simply the powers of the Dusk Court/Avallen people, which is why they are rare, especially in Prythian.

_Foreshadowing from HOFAS :

Azriel, without Rhysand to translate, watched in silence. Bryce could have sworn shadows wreathed him, like Ruhn's, yet... wilder. The way Cormac's had been.

The male now held the Starsword at the ready, Truth-Teller gripped in his other hand.He must have had some sort of Starborn blood in him, then-a distant ancestor, maybe. Or maybe his possession of the knife somehow allowed him to also bear the Starsword.

That's a very obvious foreshadowing. It would explain why Azriel is so different from other Illyrians, why he can winnow, why Illyrians couldn't understand the origin of his Shadowsinger gift, and why it was merely assumed that he learned the language of shadows during his imprisonment.

_Az confirming that his shadows are magical:

His brows rose.... The shadows are made of magic, just very condensed.

_Where did Azriel find the Truth-Teller:

No one knows what became of Theia and General Pelias," I told countless generations. "They betrayed King Fionn, and Gwydion was for- ever lost, his dagger with it." I lied with every breath.

Silene made people believe that the dagger was also lost.

I made sure he knew that the buried weapon he'd need against the Asteri was down here.

While she told her son that the dagger is buried in the prison, therefore, Azriel found the Truth-Teller in the prison.

ACOMAF:

Azriel :"I'll go. The Prison sentries know me-what I am." 👀

So, tell me, what is more interesting: learning about Azriel's obvious Illyrian side, given that his father is an Illyrian, or discovering his secret lineage? Keep in mind that we know nothing about his mother. How did he manage to find the Truth-Teller? Why was he extremely possessive of it, yet decided to give it to Elain? This includes the famous scene that antis spent years trying to downplay, the scene in the coloring book, and on the ACOWAR cover.

_Can Azriel get access to the Truth-Teller's magic :

Can your dagger kill the unkillable, too?" "It's called Truth-Teller," he said in that soft voice, like shadows given sound. "And no, it cannot."Bryce arched a brow. "So does it tell the truth?" A hint of a smile, more chilling than the frigid air around them. "It gets people to do so."

This shows that he probably doesn't know the full potential of the dagger and that he used it for torturing people.

Vesperus took another step, steadier now, and smiled past Bryce. At Azriel, at Truth-Teller. "You don't know how to use it,do you?" Azriel pointed the dagger toward the advancing Asteri. "Pretty sure this end's the one that'll go through your gut." Vesperus chuckled, her dark hair swaying with each inching step closer. "Typical of your kind. You want to play with our weap- ons, but have no concept of their true abilities."

I think that Azriel is like Ruhn; he can wield the Starsword and the Truth-Teller. However, he cannot get access to their full power.

_Bryce using the Starsword and the Truth-Teller to kill Vesperus :

Bryce threw her power into the Starsword, light ripping through the black blade, willing it to tear this fucking monster apart- She willed it into Truth-Teller, and shadows flowed.

Elain :

Elain stepped out of a shadow behind him, and rammed Truth-Teller to the hilt through the back of the king’s neck as she snarled in his ear, “Don’t you touch my sister.”

=The shadows were the Truth-Teller's magic; it had answered to Elain's will and magic, killing the King of Hybern. Y'all Keep in mind that Elain is the first female to wield and use the Truth-Teller since Silene.

_If there is someone who would be a descendant of Enalius, it's Cassian, and it's already foreshadowed:

ACOWAR :

Nesta listened to the low-level Illyrian soldiers whispering about how Cassian had thrown that spear, how he’d cut down soldiers like stalks of wheat, how he’d fought like Enalius—their most ancient warrior-god and the first of the Illyrians. It had been a while, it seemed, since they had seen Cassian in open battle. Since they’d realized that he’d been young in the War, and now … the looks they gave Cassian as he passed … they were the same as those the High Lords had given Rhys upon seeing his power. Like them, and yet Other.

ACOSF:

At twenty-one, he’d still been drinking and brawling and fucking, unconcerned with anything and anybody except his ambition to be the most skilled of Illyrian warriors since Enalius himself.

Enalius being the Illyrians leader and Fionn's bestie / Cassian is the Illyrians general and Rhys's bestie. 🤷🏻‍♀️

An idea I've been playing with is if the Elucien book is next, I wonder if SJM will have it set up where it happens before the events of HOFAS/during HOFAS like ToD and EoS. Because that may explain both of their absences in the time Bryce spent in the NC. They could be in Spring, or Day, or even Autumn for the Beron plotline.

I think at one point SJM may have said the next ACOTAR starts a few months after SF, but that might still fall between SF and HOFAS since there's six months between. I feel like that could set sooo many things in motion and explain a lot that we saw in HOFAS.

i.e., Nesta's reaction to Azriel saying Elain was waiting, and the way the Mask flared. (Perhaps tensions between them due to Elain’s conflict avoidance? She did refer to Elain as a wretch for sitting as far away as possible from Lucien during Solstice in SF. Or Elain's departure from the Night Court might've been on partially sour terms?) Azriel being noticeably closer and openly kinder/affectionate towards Nesta. (With both objects of Azriel’s unhealthy, unavailable pining gone, [assuming Mor returns to Vallahan and Elain has left the NC, with or without Lucien] perhaps we see more of who he is when he's not in his worst, 'why don't I deserve love?' mindset. The constant reminders via their presence could be removed, potentially.

This male would not even flinch. I think he would be the kinda male to pull you by the hips into an embrace if you did that or pull you into his lap so that his heat radiates even more. He would probably go about doing whatever needs to be done, and he would do so silently holding you against him.

He would let out his wings so that they could wrap around you as he continues working and moving around.

He would absolutely press an occasional kiss to your nose or lips or forehead and just continue on with his work.

Busy high lord.

But whenever he is done, he would lift you up into his arms and settle into the couch in his office in front of the hearth and would spend the rest of the evening murmuring softly into your hair, using his warm hands to stroke your back.

Cassian

LMAO Cassian would absolutely let out a yelp. I think you like to do this playfully, just to get a reaction out of him or tease him. Sometimes you stuff your cold hands up his shirt to rest on his sensitive nipples chest and sometimes you stuff this up the back of his shirt to rest in the space between his wings.

He would immediately clock in that you are a little cold, even though you were doing it to mess with him, and would throw you over his shoulder and carry you to bed for some snuggles.

He would absolutely insist on doing these snuggles naked because "direct body heat sweetheart, can't let anything get in the way"

Anyway.

This may or may not devolve into him warming you up in some not so safe for work ways...

Azriel

Poor male is so worried about you constantly. He always wants you comfortable and happy around him and is going out of his way to make sure that you are doing okay.

If you even give him the slightest hint of discomfort, he will do everything in his power to help you. So if you shoved your freezing cold hands into his shirt, he would immediately be taking off his cloak and wrapping it around you in an almost hasty manner, muttering at you while rubbing your arms up and down, "And this is why I told you to wear a cloak, come here, let me warm you."

His cloak has some residual warmth that bleeds into you and is clearly oversized because it is slipping off your body at every movement. One of Az's wings will wrap around you as he shoves you into his side so you absorb some of his heat. His shadows, that usually leave a cold whisper on your skin, are caccooning you and Az into a warm space.

"Oh my beloved, are you cold?"

He wouldn't even wait for your reply, he would already be sliding your hands out of his shirt so gentle, so soft and would slide his fingers through yours, bringing them up to his lips and pressing in warm kisses at each finger pad. And then he would cup your hands together and breath a puff of fire right at your palms that doesn't touch you, but instantly provides heat.

And then he would press warm kisses all over your cheeks and forehead and nose and lips and neck, and pull you into a warm embrace that allows for him to sway in a little dance, letting his body heat permeate around you.

A ring of fire that is maybe an inch tall would surround you as he sways you back and forth, leaving kisses on your temple.

Sometimes he will just carry you to bed and lay on top of you to warm you up with his face buried into your neck, laying kisses at the junction between your neck and shoulder.

I think Lucien would look down at you with a smirk on his face and wiggle his eyebrows, "looking f'me to warm you up sweets?"

He would let you keep your hands up his shirt as they move around and find warmth against the smooth skin of his chest.

His hands would come up and smoosh your cheeks together so he can pepper kisses onto your lips as he moves you backwards into the wall so you can lean up against it as he makes you weak in the knees

I think he would proceed to messily make out with you for a good few minutes, running his hands all over your body, squeezing at your soft skin

Eventually one of his hands would settle at your lower back as his warm tongue plays with yours. He would press you fully against him, letting his body heat soak into you. His other hand would be stroking your cheek or running through your hair as he nips at your lips.

Bone Carver theory:

In the books Feyre, Rhys, and Cassian each have an encounter with the bone carver.

- Feyre sees him as her future son (But, later says that the bone carver didn’t appear to her with wings)

- Rhysand sees him as Jurian

- We don’t know how Cassian sees him

I think that the bone carver appears as a person with a secret that you don’t know until it’s too late.

- Nyx’s secret was his wings, which Feyre didn’t know could kill her until late in her pregnancy

- and Jurian’s secret was that he was never allied with the king. Which could have been extremely helpful to the Night court in the war, had Rhys looked into his mind.
