in human form, he has scales in a few places

down the side of his hips to the top of his thighs and a few straglers on his ankles

his scales are blue and green. they're iridescent as well, super pretty

the closer to his chest, the lighter his scales are but there's still some dark ones around his hips that are more like a navy blue

his fins are probably on the greener side as well, and im thinking more translucent too

Slasher U Update Roadmap: End of 2023!

Holy crap, it's been a hell of year, hasn't it?! Slasher U Act 1 came out at the end of April 2023 and there's been SO MUCH that's changed!

Things that were added in post-launch Slasher U Act 1 updates:

Sawyer's entire romance arc, storyline, and hookup/makeout games

Outfits

Bartending

The ability to talk to Dark Tate post-coitally

Butterflies and crows (fighting crows used to crash your game)

The entire good UI

Characters including Cliff, Stitcherella, Jennykind, Paisleigh, Tanya, and I'm pretty sure Kennedy was a very early addition, too

And that's not counting the tweaks, fixes, and content! In the interest of continuing to Ship of Theseus this game into the best dating sim ever (no biggie, right?), I have the following updates planned before the end of 2023 for Act 1!

Accessibility settings: A way to opt out of minigames with a random roll based on your personality stats (different stat per minigame as appropriate!)

Refining the places you can get personality points in Act 1

Customization: Cane accessories! These will run on a different band than outfits so you can mix and match them/equip them alongside outfits!

Finance: I made everything in the game on the pricey/"realistic" side and the money you get from gigs relatively low because A) college and B) i kind of thought it would both be funny/reflective of shitty college jobs AND a nice incentive to grind some minigames but. I think the economy needs a bit of a fix, right? ;) (in the meantime, try typing InfiniteMoneyVent with the caps correct in the Cheat Codes menu when you're in-game! Your wallet will be a little fuller!)

There are 27 major bugs left in the list for me to tackle as of now, most of them are routine but there are 3 or 4 harder ones to tackle (naming save files is being a beeeetch specifically because afaik Wolf wipes any additional system string variables even if you specify a larger variable count list? My engine just is like "naw actually I'm not saving that"?)

Prior Planned Quality of Life Stuff: Either a way to name your save files OR a way to make your character name appear under your save file (this used to happen but there was a bug where all names would default to your last used character name)

WHITE WHALE HOLY GRAIL I'm still trying to fix the text box bug! This actually isn't borked in the vanilla version of the WRPG engine but I can't fucking figure out how to fix it with the way I've set up the UI (I think? I THINK?!). This is realistically the last bug to get fixed due to my own ineptitude, so I'm hoping to A) make autosaves automatically turned on and B) making Data 1's save slot unusable so it's reserved for autosaves!

There's ALSO a couple content updates for Act 1 still (nothing major, except for, uh, ONE MAJOR THING, haha):

The Truth or Dare minigame/scenario is now going to be included in the Act 1 game, but take place after the Act 2 bumper (post-murder-attempt)

This is already in there but the preamble for Dark Tate's continuing storyline, and Laila's Act 2, activates after the murder attempt

I'll be adding Hex, Juno, and Sawyer's Act 2 lead-ins, plus regular Tate's lead-in, as I work on Act 2

Resolving the storylines (or, if you're being a Chaotic Evil type of player, ruining everyone's life) with story choices/quests for non-dateables: Act 2 will include more Sawyer/Horsemike story, and personal quests for Melyssa, Professor Plutonium, and partially Veronika/Archibald (theirs will continue into Act 3)

Maybe I'll let you fight crows again. MAYBE.

I'm ALSO working on Act 2, which has a lot of new features (notably permanent cosmetic upgrades like a piercing system and tattoos) as well as new content (obvi lmao), but I really want to find a way to offer early access passes to folks who didn't make it to the Crowdfundr (maybe via Patreon)?

Here are some Act 2 features that I'm excited to include/are already being worked on (you'll recognize a lot of these from fanvotes!)

I'm personally super hype for Tate's storyline (which also involves some other students?? ooo????) and how that's going to mechanically shake out, PLUS, tattoos. Oh my god. TATTOOS GUYS. Plus, the piercing system works like IRL-style - you have to get pierced, then buy jewelry for your piercing if you want to replace your starter/healer gear! I'm a big fan of body mods IRL and having a more realistic piercing/tattoo system was important to me!

Can't wait for next year AND to bring y'all more Slasher U!!!!!!!!! Making video games is literally my favorite thing to do in the whole wide world and I can't imagine doing anything else with my life :')))) (one day I'll be able to do this FULL-full time instead of on top of reviewing medical documents and drawing IP comics for Big Corpo)

which csh albums to listen to in order in my Opinion umm I wrote this for a friend and I’m not gonna reread it LMAO um there’s probably stuff in there that only caters to her

1. START at teens of denial it’s very cool there’s some long stuff and some short songs it’s a nice introduction to csh and it’s just like a very chill but emotional!! destroyed by hippie powers and drunk drivers / killer whales are the most emotional and in my brain I think they’re short and sweet but no they’re 5 and 6 minutes long ermmm that’s funny!! this is actually the album that kinda launched csh into the mainstream and got them on the tonight show with jimmy fallon along with twin fantasy. nice solid rock album.

2. if you want more emotional stuff, twin fantasy (face to face)!! I FUCKING LOOOOOOVE TWIN FANTASY!!!!! it’s very emotional and the end is fucking fantastic it’s like the telling of a story of teenage love that went oh so terribly wrong!! kind of umm yeah it’s really really good my personal favorites are beach life in death and bodys !! bodys is super electric and such a fun track it is so awesome I fuckin love that song!! beach life in death is so emotional and LONG (13 minutes) This album is actually a like redraw of the mirror to mirror 2011 version of this album (THAT I BOUGHT THE VINYL OF!!) that old version of the album is shorter and has shittier production quality but it has far more raw emotion. becuase that album was made while that shit was happening to will and not just to redo the music

3. teens of style umm if you want more cheerful stuff!! it’s super nice I don’t like it personally as much as like the original songs but it’s still great!! teens of style is like a compilation album of some older car seat tracks from monomania and my back is killing me baby!! my favorites are probably strangers, and something soon!! something soon is probably one of my favorite csh songs of all time I won’t lie I kinda prefer the mbikmb version ermmm you could PROBBALY relate to the lyrics it’s a very very good song!! strangers is also a fun Energic song that’s easy to get stuck in your head 😜😜 it’s also a nice way to introduce (prepare) yourself to some of the songs that are on this next album!

4. MONOMANIA. HOLY FUCKING SHIT MONOMANIA. Ummm well this album is a very sad emotional roller coaster. it’s very electric and experimental music wise. this is basically the continuation of twin fantasy (mirror to mirror) I would actually rlly recommend listening to them back to back!! these songs are absolutely fantastic ohh my god misheard lyrics kinda sucks BUT THE MEANING IS GREAT!! my favorites are los borrachos and Maud gone they r fantastic music wise (the drums on Los borrachos R SOOOO FUCKING GOOD) and I actually know maud gone on guitar teehee!! two tracks on here that are absolutely fucking soul crushing are souls and anchorite. some of the first csh songs I listened to!! Ahaha ohh my god 🙁 yeah they r really really really sad souls is like bodys but HEARTBREAKING!!!

6. how to leave town!! not a personal favorite! Really good though! it’s got more electric synth stuff on it and the first track is so fucking long Jesus Christ they did not need to make a SIX MINUTE LONG INTRO?? yeah this album is kinda forgettable but it’s got some real good shit! I really like hey space cadet (who doesn’t it’s absolutely fantastic) and beast monster thing umm itw as hard to choose favoirtes bc I rlly like some of these tracks!! this album is just really relaxing and then all of the sudden you’re sobbing uncontrollably and calling up a therapist dear lord

7. living while starving! kind of like an interlude to the csh albums it’s just a nice short ep with five songs I really like every song on there umm except devil moon and I hate living pls I swear I like them but they’re kinda forgettable !! this album has the best version of oh! starvibg i fucking loove it sm!!!! will’s redone taht song THREE different times but this is the best version I swear 🙏 this ep actually has their second most popular song! it’s only sex! which is really good but im not gonna talk about it 😊😊😊😊

8. nervous young man. THE BEST CSH ALBUM HOOOLY FUCK ITS SO GOOD!!!!!! There is a lot of variety in these tracks and some long ones, some short ones!! My favorites are I wanna sweat and fuck I can’t choose I’m just gonna list off like a ton of songs I like umm so some strange angel, knife in the coffee, big jacket, dreams fall hard, burning man, crows, the gun song (SO GOOD), jerks, and Boxing Day!! the gun Song and Boxing Day are so long (15 minutes each) but oh my god they are so emotional I love them so so so so much umm the reason this album is so far down on the like,, csh path is because IT IS TWOO HOURS LONG!! GOD it’s soo fuvking good though I actually made art based off of I wanna swear and I’m working on a. Dreams fall hard piece it’s soo yum

9. my back is killing me baby!! just a like 47 minute long album of a lot of short and sweet songs this is actually a super old album so the production quality is shitty to say the least! Umm I absolutely love every song off of this one except lawns because it’s soo 😭 unserious hes literally just complaining about picking up garbage?? every song is super upbeat and catchy and always fucking stuck in my head

10. MAKING A DOOR LESS OPEN! this album is really good you just have to be a big csh Fan to like it LMFAO umm it’s very experimental! it’s all electric stuff I really like deadlines hostile and life worth missing! this is very much so. Acquired,, taste but I swear it’s great! deadlines hostile is actually one of the first csh songs I listened to and it’s a great starter I won’t lie

11. twin fantasy (mirror to mirror) umm oops idk why I put this so far down I kinda forgot about it LMAOOO umm well it’s sooo strangles will toledo it’s very soul crushing compared to face to face. face to face feels more hopeful and cheerful but this version is soo sad dude oh my gof!! I actually like these versions of bodys, sober to death and nervous young inhumans more teehee they’re just better! these tracks just feel more personal I guess? like will Toledo is younger and he was making this album because this is what he was feeling at the time, but the newer version is just some really great retellings yk! I love the raw emotion and want to give this album a hug

12. 4 & 3 I put these in their one little group together bc they’re both pretty short and like,, they’re the numbered albums. These aren’t on any streaming services I don’t think besides youtube! And band camp! Soo I recommend 4 before you listen to 3 because 4 is just nice and a. Lot like my back is killing me baby! Some nice catchy stuff my favorite is probably that daniel johnston song idk I haven’t listened to the album in a while,, umm 3 is soo. EIEUGEVATWU that’s one album to cry to! beach funeral and beach fagz are fucjing soul crushing oh my god they are so sad esp the outro parts um don’t look up the lyrics to beach fagz tho and if you do don’t,, don’t ask me idk either man 🙁 3 is my favorite numbered album and I actually listen to it like regularly I fuckin love that album sm

BEFORE YOU LISTEN TO 1, 2, AND LITTLE PIECES OF PAPER WITH NO WRITTEN IN THEM LISTEN TO DISJECTA MEMBRA! it’s basically some outtakes of nervous young man and where the outro of the face to face version of famous prophets came from!! the songs on there are really good but I put it so low because it’s so deep in the rabbit hole. this album was only accessible if you bought nervous young man for a certain price on band camp back in 2013, so it’s literally ONLY on YouTube. I think. fontaine's writing is on the same tier/quality as sumeru's. but. on a personal level though, I like sumeru's AQ more bc dottore is a great antagonist (not some vague entity like celestia or the prophecy; works as a foil to nahida, scaramouche, and tighnari; works as an antagonist on varying levels to sumeru, nahida, scaramouche, collei; directly challenges the idea of "wisdom" which is. sumeru/nahida's whole theme; he got TWO gnoses!! like. what an effective character in the plot and narrative sense) and I think sumeru's story has an edge in that it features a character whose story has been unfolding since v1. I also think that the traveler had a more personal stake in it too, so their role in the AQ actually... mattered. like, having those 1:1 conversations with nahida and scara (scara especially, bc in the pardis dhyai scene he actually treats traveler like a character with flaws and not just a helpful hero, which yknow, is rare in genshin), actually solving the akasha samsara and defeating mecha!scara, being the sole witness who remembers rukkhadevata. I think the writing in sumeru did well in integrating traveler with the cast without making anyone else redundant. cyno, alhaitham, nilou, dehya, etc. all still mattered and had their roles that that traveler couldn't do.

I'm trying to think about traveler's role in fontaine and honestly... furina and neuvillette would've still saved fontaine without traveler lmao. lyney's trial didn't even really need to happen to keep the plot moving. furina pushed for it bc she was looking for the dramatic trial to end all trials, and she thought the traveler could make that happen because of their reputation. but it really didn't have to happen other than to introduce the player to fontaine's background. all the investigation traveler did could have been picked up by the lyney and navia. neuvillette was already solving the prophecy tablets and could have also dealt with the whale on his own. everything that happened in meropide could have still happened without the traveler (and would have actually been an interesting character development for lyney if he was the one who answered all of wriothesley's questions. which he could do. because the house of the hearth is a fatui intel group). focalors' ~500y plan succeeded. at most, the significant thing traveler did that you couldn't pass on to other characters was to gain arlecchino's trust, meet skirk, and talk with N. which could have consequences in the future, but otherwise... yeah. the lore drops were super interesting though!!

My biggest one is probably the JoJo Phantom Blood movie, which was released in movie theaters in Japan in 2007 but never got a home release (for reasons fans still speculate about). There's a dedicated effort by JoJo fans to archive and gather as much info about the Phantom Blood movie as possible and the first 16 minutes have even been discovered (without sound and in poor quality, though). I would be so fucking happy if the Phantom Blood movie was ever released in full!!

A more personal lost media white whale of mine is this one Pokemon fanfic I obsessed over on Fanfiction.net when I was like 13 until it got deleted one day. I managed to find almost all of it reposted on another site, except for the final chapter. That missing chapter haunts me, lmao. Apparently there was also a sequel I never got to read, which I also really wish I could.

There are some other pieces of lost media I really wish I could see but those two are definitely the big ones.

I haven't done a reading log update in a while, but that's mostly because I have been struggling to finish books for the last few months (finish much of anything tbh. College and volunteering keeping me busy)

Some books I've finished mostly-recently:

Kindred by Butler: I found this a lot more meaningful a read than Parable. The characters and their relationships carry the entire story, which is... a lot different than Parable lol. And it opens SO STRONGLY. It's harrowing, and painful, and masterfully paced, and I love the main character Dana so, so much. I don't feel like I can speak much on this book considering the subject matter, but I do think it is one of the most thoughtfully written novels about trauma bonding (in a VERY specific context of Black people living under white supremacy and colonialism , and slavery in specific) I have read.

Jamaica Inn by du Maurier: I finished this like, yesterday, and I have mixed thoughts. When I first started reading it I was super engaged and speeding through it- it has all the baggage you'd expect from a white upper-class writer from 1930s Britain, but I liked the flow of the prose, and I really liked Mary as a protagonist, her drive toward action and her response to trauma, to the trauma her aunt is going through (though I also have thoughts there about the number of times her aunt is compared to a child.) I did think it was interesting that the novel is basically about the misogyny women must live through from men, even while it's bogged down by the author's own misogyny unquestioningly regurgitated as basic truths throughout the text.

But the last bit was just kind of ehhhh. There's a lot of very uncomfortable ideas around "evilness" being an immutable quality you are born with, something genetic (the Merlyns... even though Mary rides off with Jem Merlyn in the end, the fact he's "tainted" by his bloodline is never really contested, she just decides she'd rather risk the unpredictability of life with a criminal man that go back to the comfort and safety of her birth village), and (visible) disability being a sign of "evilness" and depravity (what the FUCK was up with the plot twist with the albino pastor being a secret evil pagan lmao lmao I thought it was interesting he was being framed as sexually predatory given he was the religious leader of a village and well-respected, albeit also impossible to trust due to the albinism being "sinister" and "abnormal" and "inhuman," but then sike, he's just an evil pagan wannabe. I guess to a contemporary reader the albinism alone would have been a sign he's not a truly moral upstanding Christian like he tries to appear as? idk)

Also there's a lot of racist elements to how Mary's uncle is described on top of the "he's evil because his father was evil because his father was evil etc" shit. (He's a white Brit but the language used....) and there are like several really erotically charged scenes where he shows mary how easy it'd be for him to sexually violate her, which is, well, something.

i don't regret reading it, I think it did illuminate a lot of why some trends in M/F romantic fiction exist. but jeez. a lot of thoughts.

I've also been reading a lot of books about... whaling lol specifically in the context of 19th century US history.

The one book I finished was:

Black Hands, White Sails: The Story of African-American Whalers by Patricia McKissack and Frederick McKissack: TBH I only finished this because it's very short. I didn't realize it was "juvenile nonfiction" when I checked it out (not surprising actually, Patricia McKissack was a famous children's book author and wrote some of MY favorite childhood Royal Diaries books), so the writing is very simple, brief, doesn't go into too much detail about anything, and does try to present history almost like a storybook "narrative" to keep a child reader's attention. It's not badly written but it was not what I was hoping for or really want to read as an adult lol

I do think this was a good introduction to a history I have never once read about though- that is, the history of African-American men and women in the US whaling industry, how the whaling industry was inextricably linked to the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and also to abolition efforts, and the little-acknowledged-in-the-modern-day racial, ethnic and cultural diversity of whaling crews. It was one of the few occupations willing to hire free Black Americans, and also one of the few that people who escaped slavery had a chance of being hired onto with little questions asked (heavily due to the fact the early whaling industry formed in Nantucket which was a Quaker stronghold. And also heavily due to the fact they basically had to put up with insane amounts of economic exploitation if they didn't want to end up back in slavery.)

I think this is also a good intro to whaling as an industry in general. And it has a very good bibliography.

Besides this, I checked out a bunch of ancient tomes from the 1920s or earlier about whaling history from the public library, and some primary sources from my college's library (the journal of Mary Chapman Lawrence, a "whaling wife," and the journal of Nelson Cole Haley, a harpooner.) But I have... not made much progress on them cus I'm bogged down on other things. oops.

What Jrpg games do you recommend checking out?

jrpgs are more of a playstation thing which I don’t own so my recommendations most likely wont be the best ^^;

Ans you probably mean the classic "round based w/party system I’m guessing, and not "rpg and from japan” like Dark Souls would be, sooo…

…turns out that despite playing a lot of jrpgs, a good chunk are defunct now cuz they were taken off, aren’t actually true jrpgs, and also I. Kinda really dislike how 95% of them make you stop every few seconds to load and go into a different screen just to spam a, sit through a minute of animations and screens, and then go out again to do it again a few sec later. So these choices are heavily biased to that.

Long version/reasons:

Obligatory Etrian Odyssey plug here! Ever wanted to throw your favorite blorbos together and make them go on a dungeon crawler adventure? Fan of 5-member round based battle systems with front/back row formation and boosts? Thought "the ingame map is crap, lemme make my own”, thirsting for a true challenge where pressing A to win isnt enough and you’re encouraged to treat even normal encounters like the danger they’re supposed to be? And maybe finally figure out what the heck that one random blog on your dash keeps talking about? Well then, youre in luck, as a certain game series called Etrian Odyssey might just be for you, and HD Remasters of the first 3 games are on steam!

…though just as a warning, as much as I loved the og game (and I heard the remasters have lots of Quality of Life upgrades), EO1 is kinda janky in corners lmao. The "old school” vibe it was going for in these older games reflects on the gameplay at times. Haven’t played og or hd 2 but apparently it’s similar. Only heard good things about 3 though!

Earthbound (as far as I played it anyways) is very cool and unique too. Especially the presentation and interactions with the world and all. Comes with switch online, though its VERY easy to find it emulated in random websites. It also heavily inspired Undertale, thats gotta count for something. Mother 3 just got released on there too but for some reason again only in Japan, so its still free sailing on the seas for that one, more than ever now.

Also if you can press A to win in a battle the game just instantly defeats the enemy on the map instead which is the best thing in any jrpg ever and should be done by more games. …It flashes though, which sucks for the eyes a bit.

Speaking of which, Undertale + Deltarune are absolutely deserving of their hype. They might not be from Japan but they carry the energy.

Aside from that…I mean. Theoretically speaking the Mario & Luigi games count as jrpgs. They’re pretty cute and fun, the setting is quirky, the more active gameplay that lets you dodge and counter is a neat breakup from the standing around doing nothing wait of the genre, and I just love the bros being bros ok. They’re the bros ever, always but especially here.

Honkai Star Rail is also not from Japan but very much aiming at weebs, plus powered by the floods of money coming from 2 other big budget hyper-successful and hyper-exploiting gacha games, while also being one. It being Honkai and therefore Hoyo’s favorite child, the presentation is even more on point than Genshin. Also slightly more f2p friendly than its cousin, and that game is already more fun as f2p than whaling like they want you to. …the auto-battle button unfortunately gets use at time, though. Can’t say if it gets too grindy later on though, haven’t played that far.

After a lot of trial & error over many years, I've tried cheap vs expensive stuff & found that some stuff just isn't worth it...but some stuff is. This list is more to do with QUALITY for the price vs enjoyment so, grain of salt.

Expensive shampoo - yes. I like Moroccan Oil shampoo but I water it down by about half & my hair likes that better + lasts longer

Expensive chapstick - absolutely not. I got a trial of this Summer Friday's (& others) that smells great but it makes my lips peel vs Walgreens lip balm with a little tint is great!

Expensive makeup - mostly no. The 1 expensive makeup product I like is a tinted sunscreen (Ilia), everything else is whatever. Most of the expensive stuff I tried were gifts bc my friend had an ipsy thing.

Expensive lotion - also no. I live in a cold, high-altitude place after years in humid sea-level conditions so my skin does not do well & Neutrogena Hydro Boost Body Moisturizing Gel Cream with Hyaluronic Acid ($10-14) is the best thing ever. I like a good-smelling hand lotion too, so The Naked Bee Orange Blossom is a wonderful, effective, good-smelling alternative at $8 for a bag-sized tube.

Expensive skincare - mostly no. I like IT Cosmetics Glycolic Acid Peel which is normally like $50 but you can find it elsewhere for half the price. I put some of the Neutrogina face lotion ($18, the Walgreens or grocer knock-off's work just as well for around $10) on on top & my skin is super happy in the morning.

Expensive soap - No. I like to buy hand-made bar soaps from local shops or the Farmer's Market & they are cheap & delightful.

Expensive perfume - no. Just no. I was gifted some & splurged on some a few times & the smell fades just as fast as normal perfume imo, my favorite perfume is from Old Navy & under $20. I mean unless you're getting some ambergris shit I guess? I read that is salvaged without hurting the whale but idk man. Never tried, but someone much more bougie than I am said it's legit lmao.

Expensive deodorant - also no. I know this sounds strange but I was looking for a natural deodorant for a while bc I don't want aluminum on my lymph nodes but Old Spice is more effective & aluminum-free

Expensive shoes - most of the time, worth it. I have a really sturdy pair of hiking shoes that I got on sale for $50 but retailed at $140-ish & they are important. I also have a thrifted pair of leather booties ($20 vs $130), a pair of leather work shoes ($80 I think) that still look great after loads of walking & keep my feet warm. My favorite sneakers are expensive ($80?) but I wait until I get a coupon or they are on sale, I just bought a backup pair of Cole Haan's on sale because they have lasted beautifully & comfortably after 60K steps. However, I'd NEVER spend big $ on heels unless you wear them regularly for work, my $20 Target heels with an ankle strap have served me well for weddings & date nights & still look new!

Expensive bags - not typically. I'm not a purse girly so spending more than $30 on plastic seems ridiculous to me. However, I did invest in a nice hiking backpack, & a little leather backpack I found on sale for day trips. The vast majority of the time however I just use a $5 linen tote. I found my luggage at a discount store for $25.

Expensive sunglasses - no. I really don't get this one, my friend likes nice sunglasses but I never brought myself to try. My favorite pair of hiking sunglasses were $30 & that was the most expensive pair I owned, but they are Humps & are nigh industructable. After a year of heavy use when they started to show ware, I still didn't feel like it was worth it to re-invest.

Expensive clothes - this one is really, really variable. A good, all-purpose coat is worth the $$. I have a Carhartt that is my go-to but I live in a cold climate & I don't tolerate the cold well. Alpaca, wool, canvas, denim, are worth the cash. Leather mittens are a good buy, but I don't have a pair yet (just borrowed). T-shirts--not so much, you can find $5 100% cotton tees at various stores, & some of my favorite shirts were $3-10 at the discount store. I also invest in nice denim pants, because I have such few pairs (4) & I wear them TONS, shorts not so much. I mean, they don't need to be durable. Linen tops are a great buy if you live in a hot climate, I found mine for $23. Expensive workout clothes are a joke tbh, the nicest pair I have I bought second-hand for the cost of a cheap pair & they are only marginally nicer to wear if you have a texture thing, & no more durable. My cheap swimwear looks good & lasts forever, but I have learned that more pricey sweaters are worth it if you live in a good climate--but again, the material really matters. I don't think expensive undies are worth it either, again 100% cotton underthings are easy to come by cheap & since you should replace those every few years I don't get the allure of spending the money, though I do have a mid-range bra for good support & comfort! If you get a good leather belt in black & brown you'll never need another. Socks are socks & you can buy these cheap (my friend likes expensive socks??? why??) even if you are getting wool.

Expensive bedding - yes. Okay but I will caveat this with I am a texture person, & I don't like sleeping in blends, & blends pill, so we split the purchase of a good set of cotton sheets that I've already repaired via hand-sewing; these are perfect during hot summers with no AC. A nice quilt is warm & a work of art. A hide blanket is extra warm in winter. A soft duvet & sturdy insert are nice in winter, too. A good pillow is important. All of these will last forever with care & maintenance. Learn how to sew at least minor repairs!

Expensive cars - I don't get this one, & I've never invested in a nice car but my dad was a car guy & it seems a waste of money to me. My car was second-hand, runs great, looks nice, who cares? GOOD TIRES are a yes though.

Expensive gear - depends on what you do & how much you do it. A good hiking backpack was a life-saver for me, but I do a lot of hiking. Our tents were on the low end & both are functional. My sleeping bag/mats are high-quality & a blend of new & second-hand. A good laptop is something you shouldn't have to buy more than every 8 years imo but that depends on what you do with it, too. Our kayaks, second-hand and self-repaired, float just as well as our friend's $800 kayak. Our 2-for-$20 paddles move water just as well, too. My secondhand snow shoes walk fine.

Expensive journals/sketchbooks/pens/etc. - no. I like my Moleskin & I have a cute quill pen with refillable ink, $20 for a journal seems like a lot but they last through years of carry & use. My pens were $8 & 20 refills are $20 but these also last forever. I don't get the market for other stuff though. My sketchbooks are great & from the discount store, my cheap paints & brushes work just as well as nice ones I was gifted, but I'm not a pro painter or anything. I might change my tune if that were the case?

Expensive cookware - in moderation. We split the purchase of stainless steel pots/pans set, I think it was $60 which isn't bad for something that will also last forever. Cast irons are plentiful, cheap, durable, repairable. I don't get the appliance game though, I think appliances are a silly thing to spend a bunch of money on, then again I'm renting sooooo I might just be ignorant.

Expensive furniture - no. We have a great couch from Ikea, tables/chairs are all second-hand. Bookshelves were on sale, as was our bed frame. I think our house looks nice, & my friends $3,000 couch isn't special at all to me, just anxiety-inducing.

Can get anxious even if he's just with his brothers, but the game relaxes him so much like

Gets a small blush when you vote for him and the brothers are all annoyed like "they had no idea those were your cards"

He can settle with just beating Lucifer which isn't that hard if I'm being honest here sorry Luci

Frowns when no one laughs at his smart and very well thought through jokes

Not because of the game, but because of the fact that he's sitting there with his favorite people just enjoying each other's company

More invested in his snacks than the game itself so most of the time he just uses any cards without thinking which gives him lots of votes, because they end up making no sense and being extremely funny

Unintentionally breaks the rules in the cutest ways possible

Asked on twitter when it was added/what it was, and apparently it was a few months ago (woops). Pretty neat though!

If you’re worried about people being able to see your team power, don’t-- I decided to snoop around but (un)fortunately it looks like your profile won’t display it unless you’re in a certain top percentage. 

The number next to the red circle, in my case 1288, denotates what your rank is compared to other players. So mine is 1288! ...That makes the game feel both big and small lmao.

I’m really curious as to what is included for the power here. I know Spirit Enhancement and number of girls, but does it include slots? What about memoria? Memoria is just as important imo as is getting the right characters. Does the number increase for every Magia unlock and Doppel gained?

I’ve got uhhh 144 girls and all of them have their Magia to 5, everyone who can get a Doppel has gotten one, and everyone who isn’t a natural four-star has full slots, so I’m guessing that’s why my number is up there-- but also I prefer quantity over quality, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the lack of slots has tanked my score too.

I’m curious as to what other people have! If you feel comfortable, please feel free to make a post sharing your own :D

(also keep in mind that I spend an obscene amount of money on this game, so my score is going to be higher by the pure virtue of being a whale lol)

to you last post, i genuinely don’t understand why sokka is called a himbo like ?? this dude is a genius ?? did a chunk of the fans forget sokka is a great inventor, a good battle strategist, and just not a dumb person ?? he’s one of the smartest of the gaang, he’s the furthest thing from a himbo.

i mean yeah.... not 2 quantify or compare (the extremely nebulous construct of) “intelligence” but sokka is like, the smartest character in the show lmfao. like he can also be dumb as fuck sometimes, but that’s bc being smart and being dumb are not mutually exclusive, especially when ur a (very traumatized) teenage boy. calling him a “himbo” is also just ridiculous bc not only is he incredibly smart, he is also cynical, jaded, mean, uptight, neurotic, and scrawny. any of these qualities, let alone all of them, immediately disqualifies him from himbodom. the only traits he has in common with himbos are that he is respectful towards women and lesbians love him. but just because himbos are necessarily good men who can be trusted around women doesn’t mean that every good man is a himbo!! all dolphins are whales, but not all whales are dolphins, you see. 

as for your point about fans “forgetting” sokka’s intelligence, that’s a whole other problem, less to do with “himbology 101: definitions & semantics” and more to do with a lack of basic reading comprehension, fandom character trope transmogrification, and of course, good ol plain ol racism. due to sokka’s goofiness, and the fact that he is often the butt of the joke, fans seem to think that sokka is “dumb.” i have also seen people say similar things about aang, a proud goofball and also an incredibly powerful prodigy and extremely wise & mature child whose mere existence is necessary to the fabric of the world due to his unique & refreshing perspective. or take toph, another extremely wise & mature child who is a genius in her field of earthbending, but apparently her lack of decorum (behavior which she chooses on purpose to reject her family’s expectations, might i add) makes her a moron in the eyes of fans who still claim to love her simply because she’s “badass,” reducing her actually brilliant character to her epic fight scenes, while simultaneously refusing to recognize what makes her fight scenes so epic in the first place. anyway. i find it highly ironic how many fans of atla seem to equate intelligence with “dignity,” since deconstructing the notion of dignity is a core theme of the show. 

not to mention the obvious, which is that many people just hate to see a brown guy be genuinely complex and compelling, sympathetic yet flawed, extremely intelligent, stubborn and repressed, neurotic, anxious, eccentric, badass yet vulnerable, loving yet cold, arrogant yet humble, learn from his mistakes, grieve his losses, be.... a well-written, well-rounded character. and maybe that shouldn’t be attributed 100% to unconscious biases, cause i do think yall are dumb regardless of racism, the media illiteracy does not discriminate, but it certainly doesn’t help that people want to reduce sokka’s character into tropes specifically associated with brown and/or indigenous male characters, that otherwise do not actually apply to him. i know i talk (er, rant) a lot about how fans treat sokka (not to mention katara!! whew) and how this widespread misinterpretation of his, and every other atla character, is doing a massive disservice to the incredibly complex, well-written, 3-dimensional characters of atla, but it’s never going to stop being a problem so long as atla has more fans than just like. the 5 people i trust to have good opinions. lmao
