Been writing quite a lot of WH fic in my spare time recently and I realised I've kinda accidentally created a consistent interpretation of how the neighbourhood would see Frank X Eddie (liking each other or being together but on the down-low):

To be clear these aren't my theories on what's going on in the ARG, it's like... just in the world of the WH show itself, without getting deep into the horror and mystery elements, and therefore excluding facts like that in canon there's probably going to be homophobia themes to the story iirc. This is how I imagine it'd unfold if it just happened normally without whatever scariness is going on in Home as a factor.

Also I like playing around with lots of different ideas and dynamics and interpretations; this is just a bit of fun.

Transcripts (and a bunch of extra explanations/info) under the concealment charm! ⬇️

Sally:

Has no idea, because she's not paying attention to them.

Would be like "Cool. Now about MY NEXT PLAY!" if it was pointed out to her.

Unless she could make it into something dramatic.

(Extra: like if she thought of a way to basically make a performance out of it, I can imagine she'd do that. Eddie and Frank would both think she was being very strange.)

Poppy:

K N O W S

Possibly before even Eddie does, and trying to drop him hints.

Thinks they'd be wonderful together.

(Extra: She wouldn't think it was her place to say anything outright, especially because that could risk outing either of them, but she'd be like "Frank can be very protective of you, you know..." HINT HINT.)

Howdy:

Has a vague suspicion.

Doesn't think it's really his business.

DOES think they're cute together.

(Extra: it wouldn't really interest or concern him much so he wouldn't feel a need to offer input or say anything, but he would sometimes see them talking and be like 'lmao these bitches gay! good for them, good for them,' in his head.)

Wally:

Knows Eddie & Frank 'love each other' but is unclear on how this differs from how he loves all his neighbours.

Would be very happy for them if someone explained it to him.

(Extra: he wouldn't pick up on anything particularly special about them/their relationship, he just assumes that all his neighbours love each other because, in his opinion, what's not to love. He'd also likely be one of the first people either of them would feel comfortable telling.)

(Extra 2: also no-one would ever explain it to him properly. Eddie would get into embarrassed blethering and Frank wouldn't know what to say beyond that it's "just different," Barnaby would keep giving joke answers, Poppy and Howdy would just be like 🤷not my place, and Sally and Julie would keep telling him things that only made him more confused.)

Barnaby:

Would eventually pick up on it, and take great joy in teasing either of them.

Ultimately supportive, though.

(Extra: He'd greatly enjoy irritating Frank and making Eddie flustered in ways that meant nobody else but them knew what he was hinting at lol)

Julie:

#1 Frank X Eddie shipper.

She finds out because Frank talks to her about their feelings, and she's rooting for them from then on.

(Extra: she'd try to be Frank's wingman and just end up confusing and scaring Eddie and making Frank facepalm.)

Did you notice how some AFO fans who used to like DFO Theory started to hate it and suddenly attack the same fans? Maybe this is due to generalizing DFO as OOC? I once saw someone saying that "to respect someone else's opinion, just remember that you have also changed your opinion several times" but these people only seem to attack what they once liked for no apparent reason, other than "nooooo my beautiful AFO is not like this 😭😭"

Yes, it is a trend that I did notice when I first came into the fandom that a lot of people would say they are former DFO. Then say how they realize how 'stupid' the theory was and unrealistic. As if suddenly now they are the pinnacle of rational and totally know everything about a fictional character.

I never claim my interpretation is the canon, because I know I could end up wrong. That just how it is and I'm always willing to adjust my headcanons with the source material. But honestly I think the AFO fans that liked DFO and now hate it only changed because other people started being hostile to the theory.

Like popular writers, artist, and all kinds of people begun to sneer at that interpretation beside those in the little community. Seeing it as just trying to 'soften' AFO or as something gross to do to the MC. Or worse some people like DFO but hate AFO so when the former DFO see that they change their mind to double down on disliking DFO as they LIKE AFO. As they see it as like you said 'softening' him to make him palatable. The theory itself, however, is only parentage.

Like it still be valid to assume AFO had Izuku with Inko from a One Night stand, and Hisashi Midoriya is just the guy that stepped up for single mom Inko. We have evidence of there possibly being more aware but if don't like it then that an option too.

DFO theory is simply the theory that Izuku Midoriya is RELATED to All for One. That is the bare bones minimum, I don't care if you are OH HE LOVES HIM or HE AN EXPERIMENT or whatever you want to believe. None of that really registers much to me nor should matter, like DFO can be used in many manner of ways.

The ones that seem to hate is most... Well they tend to either want Virgin All for One (for sexual reasons) or want him to be purely asshole(for sexual or just because love assholes that can go either way) or maybe fear of being the outsider. There also many who claim that every time he does a more evil act that it PROOF he never father a child.

Like tell me you never had a mentally unstable parent that does outrageous things. Anyone can have a kid, it sure doesn't take much for a guy to one and done for various reasons. We also literally been confirmed now he can change his face, DNA, and has actually done so. Also we've seen how he is with Yoichi, literal proof of his ability to love it just dark and twisted.

It why DFO is so interesting since if is the child of AFO it an avenue to explore his character. How WOULD AFO raise a child now that we knows what happened with Yoichi? Is he aware of Izuku? Does he care? We've seen him vault family and say how precious family is.

But then, none of that matters to the former DFO fans who now are DFO hates. They just don't want to be the weirdo outsiders believing in something that isn't even 'canon' and as I've said many times. I'm not exactly going to stop writing or enjoying it even if it NOT canon.

No one can dictate what I like and enjoy. And those people projecting hatred once they loved it?

I hope they know it ok to just like different things and change your mind. They should be happy with what they like instead of just wanting to be 'right'.

Some aspects of what happened to them stays, like Eleanor still missing her eye and Paul seeming to retain his altered figure.

Mhm. At the end of the day, those toy bodies aren't separate bodies - they're still their bodies, just in a new form. Whatever damage or alteration done to their toy bodies would carry over if they hypothetically turned back. Eleanor wouldn't grow a new eye, and all those years of female toy hormones pumping through Paul would definitely change something.

The only thing that wouldn't change would be their ages. Because aging is a biological process, they would simply snap back to whatever age they were at when they were first transformed. Can you imagine all 170+ years catching up to Eleanor at once? Damn, that'd be brutal. But we would get a GILF Paul out of it.

Another interpretation of "never be the same again" could also include whatever character development they've all been through.

Alright, painting a picture of the next episode based off the duet and the trailer and some preliminary analysis.

Stolas asks Blitzo to come over this full moon, despite saying he didn't need to come over the past few months.

[Reason: text message conversation in already released episodes show Stolas multiple times nervously insisting Blitzo didn't need to come over this month if he didn't want to. Also, Blitzo has a line in the duet suggesting Stolas needs his attention again, making me think Stolas said something about it]

They're both excited as fuck. Blitzo just wants things to go back to normal, he wants his safety net of having a reason to be around Stolas, to be with him, for Stolas to want/need him and he obviously misses Stolas so much. Stolas is jumping off a cliff, excited to free Blitzo and hoping they can stay together without the deal, but he is terrified. He's so excited to see Blitzo again he's so fucking cute. I love him.

[Reason: this is just the duet they're both so fucking cute and silly even though they suck at communication]

Blitzo even prepares. He brings Stolas a present? A giant three-wick candle? Did Fizz go shopping with him to prep for this? Whatever, he's excited to see Stolas, he's going to arrive in a great mood. Stolas is going to be nervous.

Something. Happens. Stolas gives Blitzo the crystal and *does a bad job of explaining why and his hope that they can pursue a healthier relationship together* and Blitzo gets angry. He is yelling at Stolas, crying, we get part of what he says in the trailer.

*this is more assumption than interpretation of things from the trailer, but I really feel these are safe assumptions

Stolas, not wanting this to be how things happen but not wanting to hurt Blitzo, decides this is Blitzo breaking it all off entirely and he doesn't want anything to do with him anymore, rather than defending himself (you matter so much to me!), teleports Blitzo to outside and ends the night there.

Blitzo is horrified and hurt and in a horrible place and thinks Stolas is throwing him aside and that he (Blitzo) has pushed away someone else he cares about.*

*more assumption, more interpretation based off other looks we've seen into Blitzo's psyche

Blitzo is seen cowering and crying and having a Bad Time (tm) in other locations. His meeting with Stolas to get the crystal hurts him deep and effects him in other parts. This is NOT the beginning of his spiraling, but it sure doesn't help.

Obviously Stolas is having a Bad Time (tm) too, but also WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON WITH TINY STOLAS CLINGING TO BLITZO FROM STELLAS BROTHER whatever his name was I don't want to look it up right now

AU where Balnazzar isn't stupid and instead of killing and impersonating Dathrohan during the Third War, he impersonates Calia Menethil

Calia is missing, either dead or intent on never showing her face again, making a prime candidate for impersonation

Being the princess of Lordaeron and the heir to the throne, the remnants of the Silver Hand would fight to the death for her, and with way more conviction than just for one of the first paladins

The amount of damage that could be done wielding the face of a powerful woman cannot be understated. I wholeheartedly believe that Calia-Balnazzar could make them whipped up into the Scarlet Crusade frenzy like. four months tops.

She's the princess. What are you going to do, argue with her? Tell her no?

None of the paladins likely know her that well, so Calia-Balnazzar could bullshit damn near anything she wanted to, while Dathrohan-Balnazzar would be constrained incredibly.

POV you're ill from a ~mysterious illness~ and the big tiddy priestess princess herself tends to you and comforts you and agrees that your dad really is shitty :( you should do something about that :)c

Realistically speaking, they would have to arrange a marriage for Calia-Balnazzar for when they reclaimed Lordaeron, and there's so many good options to pick from (for Calia-Balnazzar to have an easily manipulated husband). (Also no one knows real Calia is married with a child).

Taelan: sad man but he's well respected and the Lord of Hearthglen, where all their operations have been based out of. Too depressed about his dad to be any real hindrance to any schemes but that also means he might lack that driving force of pure insane zealotry.

Renault: younger, more emotionally unstable, clearly wanting someone to validate him. He's going to destroy whatever you point to with some hyping up, but he's definitely going to destroy himself at some point if he doesn't calm the down, and you're not going to want to be standing next to him when that happens

Darion: fairly younger, but that makes him more manipulable, and this whole 'recovering Lordaeron' nonsense is taking a while anyway. Sad about his dad so don't mention you encouraged Renault to kill him, but like. This is Darion we're talking about. Mister "I will interpret whatever you say into 'kill yourself for me' and then do it." He's going to be ride AND die if you don't fuck it up. You will need another man after he dies though. Well maybe not he's rather committed.

Decent chance Sally smites her. This crusade is NOT big enough for two bad bitches--there's a reason why Brigette Abbendis fucked off to Northrend--and it defintely isn't when Calia-Balnazzar is cozying up to Renault.

I want to say Sally/Calia-Balnazzar for the fun of it but I legitimately cannot imagine Sally doing anything more than tolerating her, even with the mind control shit.

Real Calia currently larping her tradlife with her unnamed husband and child finding out that the Princess has been found and that she's to be wed once the kingdom is returned and deciding she's not going to touch that with a thirty foot pole >>>> the FUNNIEST Before The Storm scenes imaginable if the crusade does manage to reclaim Lordaeron

i'm just. thinking about how kuroo told kenma that the setter didn't have to move around much to get kenma to play setter. and i'm thinking about how that was such a blatant lie. how we already knew. how the narration TOLD us that. but kuroo built a team where kenma wouldn't have to move anyways. he built a team AROUND kenma. he built a team for kenma's sake and comfort because he wanted to keep playing with kenma. and i'm not saying that he was begging desperately for kenma to stay, or that he didn't care about the rest of the team beyond what they could do for kenma (because of course he did!!), but what i AM trying to say is that. kuroo really REALLY cherishes the people who are an essential part of his life. and he'll do EVERYTHING he can to get them to stay.

No matter how hard they try to mend their relationship, it just doesn’t work out bc there’s always a sense of unease between them or it’s just too toxic. They gradually drift apart and they become heartbroken of what could’ve been and Gene feels even more guilty.

it's so wild to me that people talk like sonic and knuckles just now started acting gay in frontiers or that the sonknux ship only exists because of frontiers theyve been gay this whole TIME you just refused to admit it until now

#where were you when knuckles was caught staring at the moon thinking about sonic HMMMMM #ok actually. and id like to preface what im about to say with the fact that #while my feelings on it and the way the fandom acts about it are complicated i DO like sonadow #and im not trying to argue over which ship is better here thats not the point im trying to make #but anyways now that im thinking about it i think people only acknowledging how gay sonic and knuckles are in 2022 #has something to do with shadow not being in frontiers #because. its a fact that sonic and shadow are like the default gay pairing for sonic and they tend to overshadow sonic and knuckles #moments between sonic and shadow always get a much bigger reaction than ones between sonic and knuckles #and a lot of the other media with sonknux moments also had shadow in them #so no matter how gay sonic and knuckles are people Always choose to focus on sonic and shadow instead #sonic could do the exact same things with both of them and people would only care when its shadow #i know because its happened before #people also tend to take certain themes and dynamics from sonic and knuckles relationship and apply them to sonic and shadow instead #even if it doesnt make sense and theyre just making stuff up #or they make shadow act like knuckles to make the dynamic appeal to them more instead of just. liking sonknux instead #sometimes people even go as far as taking onscreen moments that are obviously about sonic and knuckles #and try to make them about sonic and shadow instead (example: the i love captains scene in sonic prime)#sonic and knuckles still go ignored even if whatever media that's being talked about has sonic interact with knuckles MORE than shadow #and none of sonics interactions with shadow could reasonably be interpreted in a romantic way #(again like season 1 of sonic prime . there were like 500 sonadow posts when they barely even interacted)#basically where im going with this is that shadow not being in frontiers #possibly forced people to actually think about sonic and knuckles because shadow wasnt there to distract them #AGAIN not trying to argue about which pairing is better this is just a pattern of behavior i have noticed

The temptation to vague about something in the milgram-confessions blog because its something thats bothered me for Actual Years about certain fandoms vs letting it go because when it is brought up its actually done somewhat tastefully and reasonably which makes me happy and this anon probably didnt mean it in the incredibly bad faith way I keep on seeing it be repeated so really Im getting upset over nothing.

I have a knee jerk reaction when people go 'the westerners are projecting their values onto the east again'#because 9/10 of the times someone does that they're an American who wants to justify their weird racism/homophobia #by using the idea that asian countries (especially Japan) are backwards and/or ignorant but disguising it as 'being mindful of their cultur #and also then homogenizing them and pretending their all a monolith to be assholes to people!#and/or completely dismiss any possible criticism or interpretation for a series as a cultural values thing #this one fucks me up especially because usually there IS Merit in those interpretations/criticisms #but a concerning amount of people then go 'oh your just pushing your cultural values onto them' as a smokescreen to be a bunch of assholes #and/or discredit their ideas because Clearly All (insert x group here) think EXACTLY THE SAME and BELIEVE FULLY in whatever cultural #idea their using to justify this behavior #Ive Seen actual good discussion on differences in culture!#especially in another fandom of mine #but the worse option has happened so much that when I hear someone say those words alarm bells start ringing #its bad faith! sometimes the popular interpretations of a character can be very wrong/kinda boring. maybe referring to sephiroth here….

#theres a lot of them that i just…. don’t understand why they exist #liek idk i see ppl make him a womanizer/a total seductive asshole and its like.. did we play the same games?#he just wouldnt be like that.
