This the type of tweets I hate seeing.
a) Its like “oh cool I didn’t know I could make so much with just JavaScript” (News flash: pure vanilla JavaScript can’t unless you’re super lucky, you’ll need to learn a bunch of other JavaScript related technologies to get even 17% of that pay monthly)
b) No job will make you earn that much so that means you’ll have do freelancing where you get clients and do the work for them and get paid of it (Fiverr and UpWork kind of thing), to be earning that much per month is $240k a year
c) Some will feel bad about their skills and even increase that imposter syndrome feeling because they’re not learning JavaScript or they are but learning the “wrong JavaScript”, already increasing pressure on themselves.
d) What even is the “wrong JavaScript”? (News flash: he doesn’t clarify it anywhere in the tweet or on his page).
All I’m saying is this lowkey damaging some, if not most, of the coding community online. If you follow people like this on anywhere and you constantly see these kinds of tweets are you’re learning, it’ll just create doubt within yourself like “What am I doing wrong?” Especially for beginners.
Some will say “oh this can motivate people! Make them work hard to earn this much” and that’s great, find motivation in anything, I’m happy! But reading the comments under this tweet was more like “what am I doing wrong? / “cap” / this is helping with my imposter syndrome” like??
I don’t know this guy’s intentions with this tweet; either clout, for likes, or he genuinely means what he said but it’s not helping at all 😅
If you’re learning to code, please follow the RIGHT people online, no “tech influencers” who do things for clout like this. Find genuine people who are learning like you or someone you can use as a mentor e.g. @tenaciousdeveloper he’s a great inspiration on here, or anyone you see learning coding on here.
That’s all! ☺️

Now, as a continuation from my previous twitter rant...
While I was doing my digging, I found out that beau/jes is the same person I screenshotted in my 'FJ was weird in the reunion' post. Here's the tweet link. (I was genuinely surprised. I tend not to remember handles once I gray them out in a screenshot.)
They're apparently 'new'. Like, started last year, new. Along with most of the people they interact with.
Tumblr media
The thing about them, as evidenced by their complete dislike of FJ, is that they're actually NOT a complete dumbass. They genuinely ship BJ, list it as their #1 ship (over BY), and agree with our gripes about how BJ was handled...
Tumblr media
Along with a bunch of other stuff. (Even their mutual in this screenshot is talking sense.)
That's why it boggles my mind how a person with seemingly this much sense, can still have such a dense take on such a casual comment.
But now, here's where my general gripe with new fans comes in...
Tumblr media
'Canonically lesbians from ep1' WRONG
In the very beginning, people kept going back and forth on whether Beau was gay or bi. Because of the slightly odd way Marisha was playing her at the time. I still remember the confusion and the speculation that followed Beau's interaction with a male captain. (I'm blanking on which ep this was, if someone can help me out, that'd be great. I think the party was talking to some soldiers on the road. That's not the best hint but it's all I've got.) Later in the ep, when Beau and Jester were having 'girl talk', Beau asked Jester about the guy and asked her if she thought he was 'checking her out' or was 'into her'. People were very confused, myself included. She didn't seem to be asking because she was bothered by it. She seemed... intrigued? It was fucking weird.
Much later in the campaign, there was an episode of TM, where Marisha received a question about the fandom calling Beau a 'disaster lesbian'. And all Marisha said was, "Yeah, that seems accurate." And it was only UNTIL that moment, that we had gotten any kind of official confirmation that Beau was for sure gay, and not possibly bi. (It was a very lazy confirmation, but a confirmation nonetheless.)
As for Yasha, well, I addressed this in the retcon post. She was also not confirmed as even being into women UNTIL the wife reveal in ep46. FORTY-SIX! Even then, there were people saying, "ok, but she could still be bi." And for all intents and purposes, she could've been. At the time, she was still not really responding to Beau's advances, and she never gave any hints on where her general interests lied.
So, what the fuck are these people talking about? That BY were 'canonically lesbians' since episode 1? Where does it say that? Who told them that?
It's impossible for me to take new fans seriously on most of their talking points, because they weren't here while it was happening. They have NO CLUE about all the conversations, and speculation, and drama over this shit. These people have never watched TM either. They don't know about any additional information that was disseminated or gleaned from that show that clarified some things and added depth to others. (And now, unfortunately, they never will, because CR took down all of the episodes. With good reason of course, but still, it sucks. Unless someone had the sense to rip the episodes from YT, then all we have are the little snippets/clips on Tumblr and twitter.)
So these people's takes are very often warped. Filled with either misinformation or missing context or both. A lot of the in-fandom stuff are things that you'll never find on a wiki page, or YT highlight reels, or official 'recaps'. That's why when I find a person who was not in the fandom when all this stuff was going down, yet feels bold enough to start speaking on developments in the show or fandom drama, and pontificating over what's right and what's wrong, and policing how people should feel about certain things (i.e. BJ not going anywhere), it makes my blood boil.
This has happened in almost every fandom I've been in, but it was worse with this one. Especially when we had such a large influx of new people just before and after the hiatus. And it was obvious the BY's had gotten to them right out of the gate, because these people immediately boarded the BY train, while simultaneously boarding the BJ hatewagon. They were turned against us as soon as they showed up. That misinformation I mentioned, no doubt came from BY's. As we all know, BY's LOVE to misinform people.
They're the ones who are constantly making up stories about our fandom. About the kinds of people we are. About the kinds of lives we must be living. Claiming "If they're saying this, [insert idiotic assumption here]: "they've never been in a relationship before" or "they must be straight" or "they just hate gay women being sexual" or "they must be virgins". Then there's the two most prevalent ones: BJ's are biphobic, and BJ's are TERFs.
Again, I can't take these people seriously. I cannot stand them.
Last thing... there were at least two people in the replies (of the 'heteronormative' tweet) calling BY butchfemme. In what universe is BY butchfemme?
They'll say wild shit like that but expect not to be mocked for it.

I’VE SEEN BLACK MEN GET ON TIKTOK & VEHEMENTLY EXPRESS THEIR PREFERENCE FOR “AESTHETICALLY NON-BLACK”, “EXOTIC” OR STRAIGHT UP WHITE WOMEN AND THEY FELT COMFORTABLE IN DOING SO.
Some Women challenged these men by arguing that their personal preferences stemmed from western Anti-Black conditioning and internalized self-hatred. They also challenged men who bashed the Black women who were NOT their preference in order to emphasize who they “prefer”.
NOW THE TABLES HAVE TURNED & BECAUSE OF THIS VIRAL CONVERSATION BETWEEN IYANLA VANZANT & EBONI K WILLIAMS… A-LOT OF WOMEN ARE PUBLICLY AGREEING WITH WILLAMS .. SAYING THEY WOULD NOT DATE A BLUE COLLAR MAN. BUT UNLIKE BLACK MEN THEY ARE NOT SAYING ANYTHING ELSE DEROGATORY ABOUT BLUE COLLAR MEN.
Why is it that BM get come online and be derogatory towards Black women in order to emphasize their preferences …. only to justify their actions by saying - “it’s just a preference” But when women (who are in a higher tax bracket) simply say, they want to date men within their tax bracket? Men are throwing up, sliding down the wall & taking it as a personal attack??
IN A PATRIARCHAL SOCIETY… WOMEN ARE ALWAYS VIEWED AS “WRONG” UNLESS THEY DEVOTE THEIR LIVES TO SERVICING THE PATRIARCHY.
Reni Lodge has a book : Why I’m no longer talking to white people about race… similarly women need to stop talking about (love, dating, marriage) around men. The male masses will always promote the oppressive systems that men benefit from the most.

Twitter Fandom Rant post (ignore if you want)
I genuinely hate twt because i make one tweet about how kinning characters for surface level traits is stupid and they tell me to "go outside" "get a job" "who cares people are dying" in the quote retweets.
As if on that account, I wasn't actively and consistently reposting palenstine stuff, as if I didn't have free palenstine in my name. Apparently people aren't allowed to have an opinion on the internet about other things. Besides, if you don't agree with someone's opinion ignore it, why be so rude like that?
Besides the post was directed towards the bsdtwt fandom, primarly talking about how complex, nuanced, and deep characters are only kinned because of one single trait which causes immense mischaracterization of the character. Causing the character to be watered down and a general misunderstanding of said character. Kinning characters like Dazai only because he's suicidal is stupid imo because he's more than that, he's not just a "quicky suicidal man uwu". He has character, he nuance, he has depth to him.
I was NOT saying you're not allowed to kin characters, that is not what I was saying at all. I just simply asking people to look more into the characters they claim to kin if it's a complex character with depth, that is incredibly well written.
I was simply asking people to see the complexity of characters and people say shit like that. But what to expect, twitter sucks.
(not to mention, I love how most of the people who were from bsdtwt knew what I was talking about and was annoyed. It was just people from other fandoms that were attacking me and upset)

Trying to curate my Twitter timeline might actually be impossible.
It's so frustrating, because I use Twitter for one specific thing, I follow dozens of accounts in that specific topic. And when I started using Twitter I followed like, 3 accounts that were unrelated, because they were people I followed on different platforms and wanted to see what they were up to on Twitter once in a while.
At first it was fine, I got some recommendations on the tl, but they were overwhelmingly related to my main Twitter usage
But recently my timeline is just full of irrelevant stuff. And yes, I love cats! I love memes! But I don't use Twitter to see those things! And I keep telling Twitter that, I am not interested, show me less of this type of posts, show me less of this account, and none of it does anything. Worse, even. It seems that the more I try to get rid of those posts, the more I see them.
At this point the only posts from people follow that I am sure I'm not missing are the few I have notifications on for. Which sucks, because I want to keep up with other accounts too, but I don't want constant notifications
It just makes me so irritated knowing that this is a deliberate choice from Twitter to not let me do this. Because I can on Tumblr. The only things on Tumblr that I see are things I choose to see

It appears that my Twitter account has been "permanently" suspended and "my case" will not be reopened because I "overreported." at least that's what I understood. Well, there wasn't much I was doing besides reporting on racists, homophobes, defenders of Israel or just people I saw doing something immoral. and maybe getting into arguments with some people.
