Random Doctor Who Facts You Might Not Know, Part 48
The Eleventh Doctor and the Fifteenth Doctor once worked together in an attempt to free a woman named Nora Wicker from a time bubble, but before they could do so, Nora confided in the Eleventh and told him she wished to stay. (Audio: The World Tree)
The first alien planet Rose went to was Justice Alpha. Before that, she had only been to space stations and ships. (Novel: The Monsters Inside)
The Eleventh Doctor keeps the Second's recorder in his pocket sometimes. (Novel: Shroud of Sorrow)
Chad Boyle frequently tormented Ace as a child. At one point, he almost hit her with a brick, but he was stopped by an older version of Ace. If he had hit the younger Ace, he would have killed her. (Novel: Timewyrm: Revelation)
There are several academic cities on Gallifrey, including Prydos, Patrexi, and Arcalia. (Novel: The Garden of Evil)
The Oldharbour Clock is a really old clock near the Capitol on Gallifrey. It is intricately decorated with little figures that dance with every chime of the hour. These figures, however, gained sentience and are actually the most intelligent beings on the entire planet. (Novel: The Infinity Doctors)
Lake Abydos on Gallifrey is home to singing fish. Romana's family spent a lot of time here, and she used to swim in the water when she was young. (Audio: Neverland)
After being resurrected, the Celestial Intervention Agency allowed the Master to read up on the Doctor’s past, making him aware of what happened to Lucie, Tamsin, and Alex. (Audio: Masterplan) This also means the Master is probably aware of any major events in the Doctor’s life from before that time as well.
The Doctor once saved Peter Capaldi from a Mandrel and Peter Davison from a Krynoid. (Comic: The Girl Who Loved Doctor Who)
The Eleventh Doctor said that the TARDIS has a GPS with the voice of Davros. (Audio: Trouble in Paradise)
Leela had a sister named Ennia, who was killed by Horda at three years old before Leela was born. Their mother killed the Horda with a knife, the same one Leela carries. (Novel: Eye of Heaven)
Ophiuchus was a Time Lord healer who managed to overcome the regeneration cycle limit on thirteen incarnations. For this, the High Council declared him a renegade, claiming that he had to do things such as vivisection to extend the lives of Gallifreyan criminals. (Comic: Ophiuchus)
Some Time Tots keep rovies as pets. (Audio: No Place Like Home)
Susan was 97 when she applied to Coal Hill School. (Novel: The Time Lord Letters)
Jane Templeton was a trainee Time Lord attending the Academy. She got stranded in Ancient Egypt and lost her TARDIS, which had taken on the appearance of a shabti figure. By the time she found her TARDIS, she was in her thirteenth incarnation, and her TARDIS was so degraded that the Seventh Doctor said it should be euthanized, which would involve flying it into the heart of a star. Since she had impersonated the god Thoth, she was guilty of class 2 intervention, the punishment for which is vaporization. Instead of letting the Doctor save her, she slipped into her own TARDIS and died with it. (Audio: False Gods)

His shift wasn’t even done when he stepped out of the bar and prepared for the walk to go home. The killing headache throbbing in his temples had been haunting the piano man since early in the morning, threatening to stay for longer than he wished. The music at the bar, the chatter, everything that he loved was becoming too much to handle. Too much visual stimulation. He had to tell his boss he was going home.    And so he failed to see someone walking in the opposite direction as him, with the bottom of his palm rubbing at his right eye as if it were to suddenly erase all the colors in his mind’s eye. Startled Drew took a step back before the collision.

And the Doctor watched as her face blurred and changed. And he was facing Clara Oswald. Who smiled, blurred and became Amy Pond. Who blurred and became Rory Williams, then River Song, then Wilfred Mott, then Donna Noble, Martha Jones, Jack Harkness, Mickey Smith, Rose Tyler, Cinder, Molly O’Sullivan, Tamsin Drew, Lucie Miller, Crizz, Charlotte Pollard, Samson Griffin, Gemma Griffin, Mary Shelley, Grace Holloway, Ace McShane, Hex, Mel Bush, Evelyn Smythe and so many others … face after face, his past companions swam into existence and out again, getting faster and faster so he couldn't discern them all until, with a final flash, there was one face. Small, dark-haired, elfin featured, a big grin on her face. ‘You came back after all, Grandfather.’ she said.  Then she too was gone.

Year One: Day One
Tumblr media
Chapter List WC: 2,413
2nd September, 1991
When the alarm first went off at 7am, Violet wanted to throw the thing against a wall. She hadn't noticed the alarms the night before, so one of the other girls had to of set one. She certainly didn't want to leave her warm and cosy bed, but she could hear the other girls already moving about.
She drew the curtains open and sat on the edge of the bed, watching all three of her roommates move around. Hannah was still in her pyjamas, pulling out a clean outfit from her trunk. The two other girls were taking turns in the bathroom. The first girl, who was brushing her teeth, had golden tan skin and straight blonde hair that fell to her waist. The other girl, who was trying to fix her tie into a proper knot, had deep brown skin and nearly black hair in tight, long braids.
Violet pulled out her own outfit for the day, crawling back into her bed and closing the curtains to change. When she was done, she moved towards the now vacant bathroom.
"Morning!" The blonde chirped, her high-pitched voice shocking Violet, who spun around to see the girl leaning against the dorm entrance, "You're Violet, right? Hannah and Aimee already went down for breakfast. I'm Caroline Dodd, it's nice to meet you!"
The girl was very chipper for it being so early, Violet couldn't help but feed off of her energy, "Hi! Nice to meet you too! I'll be just a moment, then we can walk down together?"
"Sure!" Caroline smiled widely, showing all her teeth.
Violet quickly finished getting ready for the day before following after Caroline, her heavy book bag slung across her back.
Breakfast was just as exciting as dinner the night before. There were platters upon platters of food, including several types of eggs, fruit, sausage, cereal, kippers, bacon, fresh squeezed juice, toast with varying options of jam and marmalade, and more.
The Great Hall was also louder than the night before, all the new and returning students catching up and introducing themselves.
Violet listened quietly while the people around her talked. Aside from her three roommates, there was Cedric Diggory, a third-year who was a tall, well-built boy with short dark hair and bright green eyes, which rivalled Violet's own. He was the seeker on the Hufflepuff quidditch team; a popular school sport, Violet learned. And then there was Anthony Rickett, a fairly average boy with black hair, and Tamsin Applebee, a fairly average girl with blonde hair. The two were a couple, apparently, and both were third-years on the quidditch team.
"So, Violet, how are you finding Hogwarts so far?" Cedric asked, his gaze mesmerising as his eyes were practically glowing.
"Oh, um," She laughed awkwardly, swallowing a mouthful of toast, "It's alright. Everyone so far has been nice, though I'm pretty sure I'm going to get lost on the way to my classes, this place is huge..."
Everyone around her laughed, Cedric nodding emphatically, "Don't worry, we've all gotten lost before. It gets easier with time. Most professors are lenient with first-years for the first few weeks when it comes to getting to lessons on time."
"Except for Snape," Anthony added, "He's a right arse. He teaches potions. Whatever you do, don't get his attention on you."
"Which one is Snape?" Aimee asked, glancing at the staff table.
"The one that looks like he hasn't showered in a month." Tamsin chuckled. In unison, the three first-years turned to observe the man.
Tamsin wasn't far off in her brief description, Violet saw. He was a lanky man, with shoulder length black hair that was so greasy it appeared to be shining, even from her seat halfway down the hall. He was glaring at anything and everything he looked at, from his plate to the people around him.
"Avoid Snape, got it." Violet agreed, "Any other advise?"
Cedric replied, "Not really. Do your work, stay out of trouble, the usual."
Suddenly papers were flying through the air, each hovering in the air in front of students. Only the first-years, Violet saw. Then a paper stopped in front of her and she realised it was her timetable.
She, Caroline, Hannah, and Aimee began to compare their schedules.
"Hey, we all have the same schedules!" Aimee exclaimed.
"Did Gabriel not explain that?" Tamsin shook her head, "All students share the same classes first and second year with their own house, though some classes overlap with other houses. You'll likely have classes with Ravenclaw more than the others, but you'll surely have at least one with Gryffindor and Slytherin each."
"Right, okay..." Violet nodded, "We should probably get going if we're going to find our first class. Herbology?"
"That'll be Professor Sprout. She's also the head of Hufflepuff." Cedric said, standing up with the group of first-year girls, "She's out in the greenhouse behind the castle. My first class is that way, I'll walk you down there. Bye guys!"
He waved to his friends before leading the girls out of the hall. They followed him through the castle, making small talk as they walked.
Violet learned that Aimee, Caroline, and Cedric were considered "Purebloods", or having both parents be Witches/Wizards, while she and Hannah were "half-bloods", or having non-magical parents. Cedric was very assertive that blood status didn't matter, despite what some believe. He warned them against Slytherins, who were the worst of the houses, as they tended to be bullies and violent.
He led them halfway down to the greenhouse, wishing them luck on their first day before heading back inside for his own classes.
The girls entered the greenhouse, glancing around at the fellow Hufflepuff first-years. There were also students who introduced themselves as Gryffindors. At the mention of the red-and-gold house, Violet began looking around for Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Upon finding them, she waved as they glanced over. They were on the other side of the long tables, so they had to speak up over the other students to hear each other.
The raven-haired boy smiled, "Alright, Violet?"
"Alright, Harry." She returned.
Before she could say anything else, an older woman walked in. She was a squat little witch, with short grey hair and a brown dress, which was covered in dirt, as were her hands. She smiled brightly at the students, briefly introducing herself as Professor Sprout before launching into her lesson.
▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
By the end of the day, Violet was exhausted by the overwhelming amount of information she'd gotten.
She'd had five classes throughout the day, each lasting just over an hour. By the time her last lesson ended at 5:30pm and she was heading for dinner, she wasn't sure she could handle a single new fact.
First was Herbology with the Gryffindors, then Potions with just Hufflepuffs. This was followed by an hour lunch, then History of Magic with Slytherins, who had been far beyond obnoxious.
The worst of them was the white-blonde boy that she'd met her first evening at Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy. He and his friends, Crabbe and Goyle, were picking on the nervous first year Hufflepuffs. Throughout the, admittedly boring, lesson, they were constantly throwing bits of paper at other students. Anytime someone tried to walk by, they tripped them. And they constantly made rude comments about others' looks.
By the end of the lesson, Violet was ready to deck Draco in the face. In fact, she almost did.
Draco and his buddies were standing at the door after class ended, shoving students around as they exited. When Violet and her friends, Hannah and Aimee, tried to leave, Draco used some spell to tear open Aimee's bag and send her belongings flying.
"Why you little-" Violet lunged for Draco, stopping a few inches short when an arm banded around her waist and yanked her back away, "Why do you have to be such a right git?!"
Draco jumped further away from the girl, eyes wide in fear. "You were going to hit me!"
"You've done nothing but bully people all day! It's what you deserve!" She tried to push forward, scratching uselessly at the arm around her. She was seething, which was out of the ordinary for her usual calm demeanour.
"Get out of here, Malfoy. Just go!" A voice from behind Violet shouted. It jarred her out of her anger, releasing her hands from fists and slumping back. Draco rushed off with his friends, glancing back at Violet as if afraid she'd go after him.
"Can I let you go now?" The voice asked and she nodded. The arm dropped from around her waist and she spun around, "Sorry, I didn't think it wise for you to attack him. He's a Malfoy, you know?"
"I have no idea what that's supposed to mean, but thanks. I don't know what got into me..." She sighed, turning to find Aimee and Hannah staring at her with wide eyes.
"Malfoy? They're one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight families. One of the oldest, wealthiest families in the wizarding world. I'd stay away from him if I were you."
"Right, thanks, um..."
"Eddie Carmichael."
"Right, thanks Eddie. Well, I should get going now..."
"'Course, don't want to be late. See ya around." He winked before heading off.
"Violet!" Hannah whisper-shouted, following after Aimee as she started off towards their next class.
"I'm sorry, are you okay Aimee?" She asked, trailing after her friends. She felt an overwhelming sense of guilt. She had always been against violence, but something about that boy brought out the worst in her, it seemed.
"I'm alright. You didn't have to do that, you know." She shrugged, holding her books and things tightly. Her bag was ruined and she was struggling to hold everything. Violet took some of the items off the top, easing the load.
"No, I know, sorry. Something about that boy..." She huffed, trying to prevent her anger from bubbling up, "I don't like him. Not one bit."
"No one does," Aimee reassured her, "But you can't go after him like that. His family is bad news, and no one can touch him. Even Dumbledore can't control them."
"Would've been good to know earlier." She muttered as she entered their next class.
▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔
Luckily the rest of the day was uneventful. Charms and then flying lessons, both with the Ravenclaws. Afterwards, at dinner, Hannah and Aimee told the story of Violet's run-in with Draco to their friends. Caroline had separated from their little group, having been with Susan Bones since breakfast. Cedric and Anthony Rickett also sat with them, listening intently.
"And then she PUNCHED HIM!" Hannah was saying.
Violet gasped, "No I didn't! I almost punched him. Big difference."
"You attacked Draco? Draco Malfoy?" Anthony was appalled, Violet could tell from his facial expression, "Do you have a death wish?"
"Urgh!" She groaned, dropping her head into her hands, "It's not that bad, is it?"
A resounding "yes" came from those around her. She couldn't believe that she'd messed up so badly on her first day. Her first day of being a witch, and she attacks one of the most important students in the school. A student whose father could apparently have her removed from Hogwarts in an instant.
She huffed in exasperation, "I have to apologise. Make it right, before he can tell on me."
"Oh, I need to see this." Anthony laughed, shaking his head.
"Leave her alone, mate." Cedric shoved his friend with his shoulder, "Don't listen to them, Violet. It's bad, yes, but you'll be okay. No sane professor would believe any story Malfoy could make up over the truth."
"Right, okay, thanks." Violet moved to stand up, her appetite gone after only a few bites. How disappointing, she thought. There were fish and chips, her favourite.
Hannah moved to get up with her, "Where are you going?"
"I'm just going to head down to the dorm, I'm knackered. I'll see you later, okay?"
Everyone bid their goodnights as she left.
On her way out of the Great Hall, she risked a glance at the Slytherin table. A couple of first-years were glaring at her, but there was no Draco Malfoy in sight. Just outside the hall, Harry and Hermione were on their way in.
"Hey! What's this about you attacking Malfoy?" Hermione asked, pulling her two friends off to the side, away from the open doors.
Harry gasped, "You attacked Malfoy?!"
"I didn't- I mean, I did- He was bullying other first-years, and he used some spell to ruin my friend's bag and spill all her stuff. I just lost it! I tried to punch him, but a second-year stopped me." She ran her hands through her hair. It barely fell to her shoulders, having left it down for the day, something else she rarely did.
"He deserved it." Harry decided.
"Harry!" Hermione slapped his arm, "You shouldn't be attacking anyone, Violet. You're smarter than that!"
"Yeah, I know. It was stupid. He's a prat!"
"Still-" Hermione started, likely launching into a lecture, when Ron rounded the corner and waved at Violet.
"Hey, what'd I miss?"
Violet frowned, "Not much, I attacked Malfoy and now I'm going to be expelled."
"Bloody hell! I bet he deserved it." Ron laughed before Hermione's glare silenced him.
"Right, well, I'm heading to bed. It's been a long day."
"Night!" The trio said as they continued into the Great Hall.
Violet was ready to drop by now. She had originally planned to get a head start on her Potions work that was due the next day, but now she could barely keep herself awake. She headed towards the stairs to go to the basement, but fate had other plans.
"Hey, you!" She spun around at the sudden shout. There, coming down the stairs, was none other than Malfoy.
Violet swore to herself before chastising herself. Her mother would be ashamed of such language.
"Who do you think you are?" He hissed as he moved closer to Violet, stopping barely a metre away, "Do you know who I am?"
"I didn't-" She started to snap, reminding herself to calm down, "About that. I wanted to apologise. I'm sorry I tried to hit you."
"You- what?" He pulled up short, shock written across his features. He was frozen a moment, as if he couldn't tell if she was being genuine.
"I'm sorry. No matter that you were being a prat, I shouldn't have responded violence with violence. It wasn't right."
"Uh," He stuttered, still shocked. All he could do was nod and slowly back away, staring at her as if she had grown a second head.
Violet turned and rushed down the stairs, not slowing until she was safely in her dorm.
'There,' she decided, 'I've apologised. Whatever else happens is out of my hands. I just have to avoid him from now on.'

------------------------
It wasn’t fair.
Nothing is fair.
Niccolo couldn’t speak for the first few years of his life. Being nonverbal was hard for a little guy like him, he couldn’t say anything at all. He chirped to hid brothers and sister, but only they knew what he was saying, and even then it was hard.
Niccolo was sitting at a small table of the play space in the Resistance’s secret base. Some other Resistance kids walked up and started to grab at the crayons that Niccolo had specifically placed out in rainbow order.
Niccolo looked around confused at the actions of the other children, he stared to whine at them, struggling to explain why this was making him upset.
The other kids stopped and looked at Niccolo who could only grunt at them. Their expressions become more upset and they just started to laugh. Niccolo didn’t understand, what was so funny? Did he do something?
“Haha! This kid can’t even speak!” One of them said, “Speak kid! What? Are you mute or something?”
Niccolo didn’t understand.
Why where they doing this? What did he do to them?
Then, a voice from behind called, “Hey! You leave my brother alone!”
It was Zuccone!
“You guys put those crayons back, he had them in order for a reason!” Zuccone said demandingly.
“What was the reason? Maybe if Mute over here would speak…” One of them said, while the other started to chuckle.
Niccolo felt like crying, and he pretty sure he was. He saw the tear drops hit the floor.
“You shut up!” Zuccone shouted, “You don’t speak to him that way! He’s way smarter then all of you combined!”
“What’s going on over here?” Karai asked, peering in at the fight.
“They’re making fun of Niccolo!” Zuccone said swiftly, making sure they didn’t get a word in first.
“Really?” Karai said unamused, “You three can go in time out.” She said, grabbing them by the arms and dragging them to the corner, making them drop the crayons, Niccolo and Zuccone making sure to pick them up immediately.
Niccolo chirped a ‘thank you’ to Zuccone as they both orginized the crayons, back into rainbow order.
“You’re welcome, Niccolo!” Zuccone smiled back, “Now, where were we?”
Niccolo chirped fearfully.
“Ah, I’m sure they learned their lesson Niccy.” Zuccone said, handing him the color red, “And, I’ll always be here to protect you, okay?”
“Chrip!” Niccolo smiled widely, letting Zuccone watch him as he drew.
That was almost 5 and a half years ago, and now Niccolo could speak. He spoke, not often, but enough.
“What would you like to eat, dear?” Tamsin asked, grabbing a small plate.
“Not hungry! Too busy!” Niccolo said, quickly scurrying past the counter with his arms full of art supplies.
“You’re just like your uncle,” Tam sighed, “No way mister, you have to eat breakfast before you spend all day drawing again.”
Nic stopped dead in his tracked and looked up at his mother, trying to find the correct words, “But... I want to finish it before Dad leaves again...”
Tam smiled a bit, “After breakfast, kiddo.”
Niccolo pouted a bit, setting down his things and walked to the family table with the rest of his brothers, before sitting down and being served pancakes.
They tasted like dirt, but hey! They were food. At least the syrup made them taste like sugar.
“What are you working on, Niccy?” David asked, mouthful of pancake.
“Surprise,” Niccolo said simply, finishing his first pancake in a few bites.
“Whatever it is, i’m sure it looks great!” Zuccone smiled, giving Niccolo a thumbs-up.
“Uh-huh!” Nic nodded eagerly, “Looks great!” He repeated.
After breakfast, Niccolo ran to the play room, wagging his small tail and grabbing his supplies. He ran to the room where a big canvas sat on an easel that was way too tall for Niccolo to reach, already having a rough sketch of something.
Zuccone stuck his head in, peering at his twin, using an empty box to reach is project. Niccolo was vigorously erasing the sketch marks and tracing over them with his thick marker.
Zuccone watched him carefully, having a soft smile at the way that Niccolo’s hand glided over the canvas. Never shaking, even once. Niccolo was so focused and serious about what he was doing. He was seriously just like Uncle Mikey.
Zuccone hadn’t even noticed himself drawing closer to the canvas. Gazing closer at it, Zuccone could see the splotches of red, orange, purple and blue. He could see the green bodies of his uncles, father and siblings.
He was doing a family portrait.
“Wow, that’s really good!” Zuccone said, making Niccolo jump a bit.
“Ah! You scared me!” Niccolo smiled, “Thank you, thank you.”
“You’re welcome, you’re welcome!” Zuccone joked, “I think Dad’s really gonna love it.”
“You do?” Niccolo asked, his eyebrow hitched slightly, “What if he hates it?”
“Why would he hate it, Nic?” Zuccone asked, leaning to face his poor brother who was getting swamped with self-doubt.
“Because,” Nic frowned, “The portions are off and Uncle Raph’s head looks off.”
“It’s hardly noticeable, if it wasn’t, I would’ve told you.”
“You’re right,” Nic smiled again, “Looks good!”
Zuccone laughed, “Looks good! Looks good!”
Niccolo kept drawing, letting Zuccone watch him.
The painting as finished months ago, and hung in Niccolo’s room. Once Nic showed everyone, they were all so thankful.
Uncle Leo even started to cry a little bit.
Everyone was so thankful. It made Niccolo feel a type of pride. So, Niccolo made more drawings, he explored different mediums, he even roped David into it! And David was quite good at it too.
Niccolo woke up to the sounds of the blaring alarms and flashing lights.
SECURITY BREACH! CODE RED!
This was bad, really bad! The Krang had found their base!
Niccolo grabbed his sais and jacket, preparing for trouble. He ran out with the rest of his siblings, as they watched CJ and Raphael push back a Kraang bush out of the base.
“We could really use your help..!” CJ said inpatiently.
“Right!” Karai said, waking the Krang out of the doorway, making it scrabble up the stairs.
Niccolo looked around nervously. Where was David? Or Jeremiah? Or Zuccone?
“Karai!” Niccolo called, “Where’s Zuccone?”
CJ pointed up the stairs, where Karai was running up and Niccolo followed her, finding himself in the middle of a battle field.
Everything was happening at once; Leo was slicing, Donnie was protecting Tam until they both fight off the Krang so they could attack, Raph had rushed out behind Niccolo with a rush of wind, smashing down a tendril of a Krang before it could hit CJ.
Zuccone and David were struggling with a Krang, who was trying to bite them. Niccolo took his naginata and sliced the thing in half, making a small signal with his hand.
“Yeah, we’re good.” David said disgruntled, “Aren’t we, Zee?”
“Yeah… Mom! Dad!” Zuccone quickly changed his priorities.
“Don’t worry, son!” Donnie called back, with Tam clinging to him, “We got this!” Donatello legitimately threw Tam and a Krang, Tam cutting it down the middle.
Zuccone and David laughed, Niccolo cringing at the affectionate kissing that pressured after the attack.
Just then, a Krang jumped out, it’s spikes facing toward Niccolo.
SHINK.
….
Niccolo’s breath was the only thing he heard. He stared in horror as he found himself on the ground and covered in blood that wasn’t his. Tears welled in his eyes, and his heart beat was deafening.
Zuccone was standing over him. His side fully impaled with the spike.
It didn’t feel real. Niccolo’s tears blurred his vision slightly, making it hard for him to focus on what was happening.
Zuccone fell on top of Niccolo, making reality snap back to focus as Niccolo rolled his brother over, applying pressure to the wound.
Donnie and Tam rushed over, Leo and Raph joint them in protecting the kids. Another attack had been lunched, but Niccolo could care less. The only thing he cared about was his brother, bleeding out in front of him.
“Zee..? Zee! Zuccone!!” Niccolo panted, “Answer me!! Are you okay?? Please!!”
Zuccone looked slightly, giving his twin a heavy-lidded side eye, letting out a few breaths. Luckily, Zuccone’s half plastron protected him. Mostly.
Zuccone attempted to sit up, wincing in pain, his breath hitching. The slightly lifted shirt reveled a chipped plastron and a rapidly bleeding side.
“Niccy….” Zuccone said, bringing his hand to reach his twins. “It-It doesn’t look like i’ll bounce back this time… If I die…”
“You won’t die, please.” Niccolo begged.
“If I die…” Zuccone said more sternly, “Promise you’l, take care of yourself, okay? You’re worth every…ugh…every word of praise and admiration.”
Zuccone pulled Niccolo close to him, placing their foreheads together. The ultimate sign of affection.
“Love you, brother.”
He went limp, his head falling back in Niccolo’s arms. The world deafen again. Karai and Tam rushing over, with the rest of them following after them. Niccolo couldn’t hear was they were saying. He didn’t care what they were saying.
Raph pulled Niccolo away from Zuccone’s body, Niccolo hissing, biting and yelling at Raph, probably something he would regret but he couldn’t even hear himself right now.
Donnie tried desperately to resuscitate Zuccone, saying something, tears starting to stream down his face. Tam held Karai as they both cried into each other. Leo grew angry and ripped a Krang in half with his bare hands, kicking away its corpse and yelling.
David stood visibly shocked, unable to speak or move.
Raph restrained Niccolo as he tried to get back to Zuccone’s body.
Suddenly, like an EMP, everything came back into focus.
“It’s no use…” Donnie said, helplessly, “He’s-….” Donnie couldn’t even finish his sentence before a hiccup of sobs erupted.
Niccolo couldn’t comprehend it. He couldn’t even imagine it in his worst nightmares. How did this even happen? It was too fast, too traumatic, to remember.
They carried Zuccone’s body off of the battle field, Donatello carrying him with Tam and Karai accompanying them. Leo and Raph helped the rest of the kids calm down from the attack.
Lots of tears, blankets and water bottles were handed out. News was spread and everyone was trying to calm down.
Niccolo felt out of focus. Like he, himself, was blurry. Everything felt numb on his skin and in his head. He couldn’t remember what happened. He didn’t understand what he was doing. He was simply going through the motions.
Then, the reality set it. It felt like a broken rib, on every rib. It crushed his heart and spiked tears in his eyes. His face scrunched up and the furious look in his eyes returned.
Niccolo started to cry, Karai trying to calm him down to no avail. He became more and more angry. He ripped himself away from Karai’s grasp and ran into his room; slamming the door behind him.
Niccolo sobbed, and needed to break something. He looked around his room, his eyes gazed across everything.
He ran over to his easel, throwing it on the ground. He swept his glass jars onto the floor. He cat-swiped everything on to the floor. Books, toys, action figures, small gifts and paintbrushes.
He tore through the bookshelves, he threw things over, he ripped apart his room. He cried, and for the first time in his life, he screamed out of pure pain.
He continued tearing things apart until he finally landed on the painting.
The family portrait.
He could still here the echos of Zuccone’s voice.
“Looks good,”
Niccolo crumpled onto the floor, sobbing into his hands, in a nest of a destroyed room. He sat in the puddle of despair, eventually falling asleep and having no dreams.
———
They had a proper funeral for him. Mikey, being the one to speak first, and say “May the spirits of our Ancestors lead him to the safety of the Spirit World.”
Niccolo was next to speak. He coked on his words, he held back tears, he even had to drink water a few times. But, one he was finished, he didn’t wait around to watch the casket be put into the ground.
———
The days that followed where…hard on everyone. Mikey spending more time with Niccolo, if that meant anything at all.
Niccolo had shut himself off, he consumed himself with his work and ate rarely.
“He stopped talking too,” Karai said to thin air, letting the smoke around her absorb her problems. Meditation had helped in the past, but for some reason, this felt different. There was something more then just smoke in the air.
“He hasn’t said a word since… Since we lost him. I think they both died that day. It was hard on everyone, but it’s so much worse on Niccolo. It’s like… he doesn’t care anymore. About himself, anyway.” Karai spoke, trailing off.
“Karai…”. A ghostly voice whispered to her.
“Who-Who’s there?!” She exclaimed, getting off of the meditation spot and striking a fighting pose.
“It’s me, Karai.” The ghost whispered again, sounding familiar, yet it was too ghastly to understand.
“Show yourself!” She demanded.
The smoke from the candles started to form a ball, morphing into a shape. A human shape.
“It’s me, Karai,” the smoke said once more, “It’s Zuccone.”

So who in totals travelled with the doctor? I know we saw donna, but what other companions are there?
This is gonna be a big one, so *Takes a deep breath* In his first incarnation, the First Doctor started his travels with his granddaughter Susan, accidentally taking her school teachers Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright. Along his travels, people would come and go, including Vicki Pallister, Steven Taylor, Katarina, Sara Kingdom, Oliver Harper, Dodo Chaplet, Ben Jackson and Polly Wright.
In his second incarnation, the Second Doctor would continue his travels with Ben and Polly, taking on Jamie McCrimmon, who would stick with him through his life. Along the way, The Doctor would also travel with Victoria Waterfield and Zoe Heriot. It was during this time that The Doctor would also meet Brigadier Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart, who would become an important figure during his most of his lives.
In exile is his third incarnation, the Third Doctor was forced to work with the Brigadier as UNIT's scientific advisor. Working initially with Liz Shaw, Mike Yates and John Benton, he would finally be able to travel again, first with Jo Grant, and later Sarah-Jane Smith.
In his fourth incarnation, continuing to travel with Sarah-Jane Smith and joined by Harry Sullivan, the Fourth Doctor would go on to travel with Naomi Cross, Leela of the Sevateem, Margaret Hopwood, two models of the robot dog K9, "Anne Kelso", Romana in two of her incarnations and Adric.
In his fifth incarnation, The Doctor continued travelling with Adric and took on Nyssa of Trakken and Tegan Jovanka, who he had met towards the end of his previous incarnation. Along the way, he would also travel with Marc, Thomas Brewster, Hannah Bartholomew, Vislor Turlough, Peri Brown and Erimem.
Still travelling with Peri in his sixth incarnation, The Doctor would travel with others including Frobisher, Evelyn Smythe, Charlotte Pollard (retroactively under the guise of Mila due to already travelling with his Eighth Incarnation), Flip Jackson, Constance Clarke, Melanie Bush and Hebe Harrison.
Continuing to travel with Mel in his seventh Incarnation, the Doctor would go on to be joined by Ace McShane, Bernice Summerfield, Hex Schofield, Sally Morgan, Lysandra Aristedes, Mags, Raine Creevy, Elizabeth Klein, Will Arrowsmith, Chris Cwej and Roz Forrester, though ultimately ended up travelling on his home.
The Eighth Doctor would find himself starting afresh, briefly meeting Grace Holloway and Chang Lee, before going on to travel with Izzy Sinclair, Fitz Kreiner, Charlotte Pollard, C'rizz, Mary Shelley, Lucie Miller, Tamsin Drew, Molly O'Sullivan, Liv Chenka, Helen Sinclair, Tania Bell, Andy Davidson and Bliss.
The War Doctor would go on to make a point of travelling alone, never taking on a travelling companion during his life.
Though he would continue travelling alone for much of his life, the Ninth Doctor would finally yield and take on Rose Tyler as a companion, and later Adam Mitchell, Captain Jack Harkness and Tara Mishra
In his tenth incarnation, The Doctor would continue travelling with Rose, though would later go on to travel with Mickey Smith, Martha Jones, a returning Captain Jack, Donna Noble, Gabby Gonzalez, Cindy Wu, Anya Kingdom and Mark Seven.
The Eleventh Doctor would start his travels with Amy Pond, going on to take on Rory Williams, Alice Obiefune, John Jones, ARC, The Squire, Abslom Daak, The Sapling, Valerie Lockwood and Clara Oswald.
Clara Oswald would continue to travel with the Twelfth Doctor, who would go on to travel with Hattie Munroe, Nardole and Bill Potts.
In her Thirteenth Incarnation, the Doctor would spend her entire incarnation travelling Yasmin Khan, being joined by Ryan Sinclair, Graham O'Brien and Dan Lewis.
Throughout many of their lives, The Doctor would constantly meet River Song, though on many occasions would be forced to forget their encounters to preserve the web of time.
And with that, I'm taking a nap - Dev~

Now it's a different kind of feeling that my future home is out of my control. We sort of had this before we moved in to this place, waiting for the inspection to happen so we were cleared to move in, but we also knew this place was empty. Saw the outside of the new unit and couldn't tell if it was empty or not and didn't go up to their windows or knock on the door because we aren't rude.
It's a weird sort of boredom mixed with the come down after having had a good writing idea that produced 6-7 pages. The idea needs some refinement but I think I will be able to make something of it.
And little things like having to go thru the Hollywood story to see what I renamed a couple of characters. When I started the story I used some place holder names just so I could keep the flow. Remy is Remy again but I know I changed Drew to something else. ~looks it up~ The family name is Thomas so each subsequent one is jr and so on. The particular one I'm thinking of is Tam (Tamsin is a form of Thomasina, no wonder I used that for my dinosaur) and his son is Tommy.
I really want someone to help edit it https://archive.org/details/bisho-nenjo-23-archive-edition I know I've created a great world for it that other writers need to be a part of. There are 25 years of Full Moon bare ass up against the glass franchise movies to come up with for Gregory, 70s-esque sit com dreck for Remy, countless back stories I ain't got ___ for, including the antagonist.
That's what I want for my future tho, to be so busy catching up with old projects it feels like I might not have time for new ones but they somehow find a way. There was a time when I got off my seizure meds that I was bursting with ideas and making things left and right. I'd like to have at least some of that again.
