Never come in on a day off.#There are so few #How did I used to have 4 off in a row #I'm fighting for 2 off in a row at the moment #Also there's a fresh batch of baby house officers which is not making things smooth but they're doing OK so far

so i sometimes go to a friend's place to play video games, and naturally as one does, they lay on me like i am a pillow (i'm told i'm a good one) and i enjoy this yknow physical contact is nice, a person's weight against my arm is double nice, yknow, crush my soul back into my body like a cat pile. and, much like a cat, when my friend is collapsed against me i'm like. i live here now. i'm Never Leaving. No Movement. which does mean that as the night wears on and i'm like 'i should probably go home' i wait for them to wake up. bc. that's what you do. i'm not gonna be RUDE.

and the funny thing is. i get home from playing video games with my friend sprawled across my lap a little later than i intended due to Cat Rules. and then my roommate's cat. comes up. while i'm getting ready for bed.

and does. the exact. same. goddamn. thing.

anyway i'm taking this as a sign from above, my true calling is Pillow

Also increasingly aware that a LOT of people "manage" getting through the 40+ hour work week by sleeping less than is healthy and relying on stimulants like coffee and energy drinks to keep them going.

For people who are unwilling or unable to do this...work really does just dominate your life. Like we really should not have to rely on unhealthy practices just to have a social life or keep on top of housework or whatever.

I know I post about this a lot but I'm so TIRED all the time and it's just so depressing that this is how we're expected to spend the one life we have.

#i have to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night to even barely function #with sleep #getting ready for work #commute #cooking #and errands #I typically have maybe 2-3 hours to actually do what i want in a day #and I'm usually too tired to actually do the things i want to do #and that's with a very short commute #if i actually had a long commute I'd basically do nothing but work #i see my friends like once every few weeks or months #because we're all so fucking busy with work and have such little time for socialising #and none of us even have kids or anything!!

I know they say amnesia is a bad trait in d&d/ttrpgs but in my most recent campaign I made a character who was voluntarily memory wiped for magical powers and gave my dm permission to make up a backstry that I don't even know. So we show up in this town and get intercepted by a bunch of gangsters who were like "heyyy there's our lawyer with no conscience!" and my character is like "well i still dont have a conscience, how hard can law be?" and that's how we started the ace attorney plotline
