warnings: pregnant reader and mentions of having a baby so pls be mindful if this makes you dysphoric or if you’re not in a good headspace for it. But otherwise, it’s all fluff so I hope it makes you guys smile!

a/n: everyone around me irl is having babies so here is the result of that LOL i love cute stories about expecting families and shit. All of these are obviously with TimeSkip! characters! And none of the following gifs are mine so credits to the original creators! Hope you guys like it :)

Tsukishima loves to tease the shit out of you, and that hasn’t really changed since you started getting bigger. But now, he’ll hide your cravings in the top shelves of the pantry so you have to make him come get it. He can’t help it, it’s that angry pouty look in your eyes - he’s so in love with you, even when you look like you’re about to murder him.

But despite him hiding everything you could possibly crave, he is an absolute sweetheart. He calls his mom every now and then to update her about you and the baby, probably asks about what she liked when she was pregnant. She tells him stories about liking to read to him and his brother, or how she enjoyed a nice bath if she was particularly sore that day. She even joked that she found it really hard to put her shoes on so typically she just wore slippers or easy to slip on shoes.

Cut to the next day, you wake up to Tsukishima reading a book of dinosaur facts to your belly. He’s not so much reading it as he is disputing and/or explaining further the facts that are written in it. He doesn’t notice you wake up while he waves away the book and states, “It’s fine. When you’re here, I’ll just bring you to my museum and I’ll show you in person. I can sneak you out of daycare, just don’t tell your mom.”

You had hoped to be able to keep your independence for longer than this, but found yourself struggling to properly put on your shoes. You huffed, muttering something to your unborn kid about how you’d hold this over their heads forever, and just waddled about with the backs of your shoes folded under your heel. Tsukishima raised an eyebrow as he noticed, waiting for you to sit down in the car before holding the door open and bending down to properly put your shoes on.

“Kei, what’re you doing?” You laughed, watching him swiftly tie up your laces. “They’re fine, they’re old shoes anyways.”

“If you wear your shoes like that, you’ll fall and hurt yourself,” he shrugged. “I can’t have you hurting the little Tsukishima just because you can’t put your shoes on.”

His expression was the same plain emotionless face as usual, but you smiled anyways because here he was, kneeling in front of you and helping you with what is supposed to be a simple task.

The day went on as usual, but you definitely weren’t prepared for your husband to call you into the bathroom and display the little bath he had drawn you with your favourite candle lit.

“Did you do something?” You asked him with narrow eyes, making him scoff.

He rolled his eyes, helping you out of your clothes gently, “Am I really such a bad husband that you think I’d have to be feeling guilty to be nice to you?”

You thought about it for a moment before nodding playfully, “Yup. So what did you do?” You laugh and he just flicks your forehead before helping you into the tub.

You watch as he smirks a bit, holding your chin for a second and watching your eyes, “Well I’m the reason you got knocked up so I supposed I have to take care of you don’t I?”

He doesn’t hold that sultry teasing look on his face for too long, especially when you splash him with water, drenching every part of him you could reach 😂.

Bokuto is in a PANIC the closer you get to the due date. You once just felt a bit tired after vacuuming and the boy thought you holding your front meant you were going into early labour.

“I’VE GOT THE CAR KEYS BUT I CAN’T FIND MY WALLET!!! BABE HAVE YOU SEEN NY WALLET? I CAN’T REMEMBER WHERE I PUT IT. OMG WHAT IF THEY WONT TAKE US IN. WHAT IF THERE ARE SO MANY BABIES BEING BORN WE CANT GET IN. I KNEW I SHOULD’VE TAKEN A CLASS ON BIRTHING BABIES!”

You let him run around because he honestly is so entertaining to watch while panicking. He pouts about it later, talking shit about you to your belly, “Your mom’s a big meanie. You need to be born quick so we can team up on her okay?”

“Kōtarō! Don’t you dare try to turn my baby against me!” You laughed, swatting at his head.

Man is overly prepared for any sort of situation. He already set up all the safety baby measures, like corner cushions and outlet covers, though now he’s considering locking up all the knives into a cupboard.

“Kōtarō... how am are supposed to cook like this?” You asked, raising an eyebrow at the lack of your sharp cooking knives.. and the butter knives.

The grown man just poured some more, “I gotta keep both my babies safe alright? I’ll cut everything for you so you don’t cut yourself.”

Except for the fact that Bokuto is definitely more accident prone than you are and has a few bandaids on his fingers now.

As an expecting dad, Bokuto found himself getting more and more teary eyed at any situation that involved a family or a baby. Whether that was just seeing kids and families play in the park that the two of you walked past sometimes, or seeing a commercial for diapers with happy bouncy babies, you would turn to see a misty-eyed Bokuto who would then turn to you and wrap you in a tight squeeze.

He was beyond excited at this point to meet your little baby - he wanted to know what they would look like. The perfect mix between the most perfect woman in the world and him, who was pretty cool thank you very much. This baby was going to be the cutest most amazing kid ever, who would definitely play a really great game of volleyball, Bokuto was sure of it.

Let’s be honest though, pregnancy is not an easy journey. Bokuto loved seeing you grow the baby but he knew that it was a difficult process for you. You were always sore and at the beginning you were always sick. And there were some days where you literally didn’t feel attractive or beautiful at all, but Bokuto would praise you as high as he always did regardless.

“You are the most perfect lady I have ever laid eyes on. The most gorgeous being to ever walk this universe!” He told you one day, pressing kisses all over your face as you laid across a couch.

“Thanks,” you tried to give him a smile - you always appreciated his compliments, even if you didn’t necessarily agree.

“What’s wrong?” He asked you with a small frown, noting your forced smile.

“I just… feel bleh. Not at all like how you’re saying I look,” you admitted with a small smile.

Bokuto’s eyes grew wide in shock, jumping over the couch to sit down on the floor next to you. He clasped your hands in his, pressing kissing to them gently as well. “I know you might not feel it… but I hope you know that I still think it. I don’t even have to force it. You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever met, and that hasn’t changed even though your body is changing a bit. I don’t need you to wear the most perfect makeup or the best dress for me to think you’re gorgeous. You’re perfect just laying here in my old sweats and I’m happy that I get to come home to see you like this every day,” he grinned, touching your cheek affectionately.

You loved this man. He was so sweet to you in every way possible. But sometimes…. sometimes his sweetness just went a little too overboard. You tried to insist to him that you were pregnant but that didn’t mean you couldn’t do anything. Man refuses to let you do anything for yourself. No lifting boxes, no lifting anything in fear that you might hurt your back.

“Kōtarō, it’s just my purse,” you tried to point out in a laugh, trying to reach it as he held it above your head.

“Nope! Not happening. What if you hurt yourself?”

“... with my purse?”

“Ya!”

“Kōtarō, I have to go shopping for food or we won’t have anything to eat. And baby needs to eat!”

“Well I’ll come with you then!”

“You’ve got practice!”

“It’s fine, I’ll tell them I’ll practice another time! My perfect wife and baby come first,” he’d grin at you and insist on opening all the doors as you two made your way to the car. You fall in love with this man more and more every day, even if he keeps stealing things from your hands.

Ushijima is a really nervous new dad, even if you can’t really tell from his stoic expression. He listens intently to all of the parenting advice people give, bought a few books about newborns, and has hundreds of tabs on his laptop of ranging topics from baby products people insist are necessary, mommy blogs about what is important to do when pregnant, and research that he doesn’t quite understand but feels is important nonetheless.

Ushijima isn’t necessarily a man of words all the time, so you were surprised to find that he started to talk a lot more after finding out that your child could hear him.

“You don’t have to play volleyball if you don’t want to,” he told them quietly one day while the two of you were on the couch. It came so out of the blue that you actually thought he was talking to you.

“Hm?”

“... do you think they’d want to play volleyball?” He asked you sheepishly, glancing at you with a shy expression.

You thought about it for a moment and slowly started to smile, “Well they’ll be attending every single one of your games so I’m sure they’ll be at least interested in learning!”

Ushijima nodded and you watched as a soft smile graced his face. You kept your eyes on him for just a moment longer, seeing a flicker of uncertainty on him.

“Wakatoshi, don’t you dare think for one second you’ll be a bad dad,” you warned him, poking his side and making him jump from surprised.

He stared at you for a moment, blinking, “You know what I’m thinking?”

“I know that you’ve been worried about being a good dad ever since I told you I was pregnant. I know that you’re nervous about being the kind of dad you always wanted to have growing up. I know because I’m terrified of being a good mom too,” you admitted with a nervous sort of smile, interlacing your fingers together. “We’ll be okay together though.”

Ushijima nodded and hummed softly, “We’ll have to take them to France.”

“France??”

“Satori wants to meet them too. He said he would make them chocolate.”

It wouldn’t just be the baby that Satori is constantly trying to spoil, but you as well. He sends over packages of his chocolate for you to try, grinning ear to ear when you call him for a catch-up call.

“Do you like them?” Tendō asked, and you could hear him humming to himself as he moved around a kitchen.

“I love them! But you’re going to make us fat if you keep sending them! They’re much too yummy for me to stop eating!” You laughed, eyes wandering to the kitchen where you knew you still had a few bits of his chocolate left.

“No no no no. I’m just trying to make sure your baby is a cute healthy plump baby! They’ll grow nice and strong!”

It always made you smile, knowing that all these people who loved your husband wanted to love you and the baby as well. Even Ushijima’s new teammates would come by and bring snacks or anything they thought might aid you in your pregnancy. Though, Kageyama wasn’t really sure what pregnant people or babies liked, so he just brought a whole bag of the milk boxes he liked.

“You’ve got to grow big and strong so that I can defeat you in volleyball one day. I can’t defeat your dad right now… cause he’s on my team. But I’ll defeat an Ushijima one day for sure,” he muttered to your belly with a fierce intensity in your eyes that made you laugh, making his ears turn red as he realized that you also heard him (Kageyama, the baby is attached to her, of course she heard you lol).

As it neared your due date, Ushijima prepared himself mentally every passing day. He wanted to be 110% ready so he went over your birthing plan mentally at least 10 times a day and reread over all the articles and information he had gathered over the months. He wanted to be the best father possible, but you insisted to him that you weren’t worried about this at all. After all, he was already the best husband you could ever have asked for.

ML AU: In Another Life: NY Special

(So a few things to note, Since this takes place after the events of this version of the season 3 Finale, there are a few key differences. Fu still being guardian is one of them)

-Gabriel finds himself on the back foot, without a fixed peacock miraculous, he needs something to boost his advantage over the teens. And at the rate Nathalie has been going, he might lose her as well.

-While desperately searching the book, he caught notice of the eagle miraculous, it looked very familiar. (He comes up with his plan to go to New York to get that miraculous), well thats how he realizes his plan that is in canon. But this version is clearly more desperate. He needs to know what it can do and how to use it.

-Marinette’s class kicks but with their sock puppet show and pretty much the set up for how the class is going to America is the same. Including Miss Bustier’s reason for not going.

-Adrien is bummed because there is no way he would be able to go on the trip, not with how strict his father is. Lila tries to cheer him up, saying she couldnt go either (cause in canon reason is the same)

-Marinette states that she will try talking to Adrien’s father, she seems to have a slightly higher opinion of her, its worth a shot. “Afterall, your our sock washington.” She says with a flirty smile.

-Adrien has heart eyes over his cute girlfriend.

-Marinette and company go ready to convince Gabriel to let adrien go.

-Marinette gives a convoluted speech similar to canon, but minus the extra bits of friendship.

-Gabriel complies, saying that she convinced him.

-Marinette is over the moon and immediately texts her boyfriend who is at fencing practice the good news

-Adrien gets his butt kicked by kagami just like in canon.

-Kagami tries cheering him up by saying they could use this time to practice and she can help beat the sad out of him if he wants.

-He checks his phone and is excited. He can go on the trip!

-He tells Kagami the good news, she congratulates him. But comments she will be bored without him here to fence.

-Marinette Calls Fu and tells him about her trip to New york, and that her whole class is going.

-”Your entire class?”

-”Yes, even Adrien. Can you believe it? His father never lets him go.” She is over the moon.

-Fu notes to remember that.

-”Well dont worry about Paris. If anything happens, I will be sure to alert you and Chat noir. You will have the horse miraculous on your person.”

-”I am sure Chat noir will be able to handle things here. I will let him know I am leaving. You could use a break.”

-Fu remembers that Ladybug doesnt know that Adrien, her boyfriend, is actually Chat noir.

-”I will tell Chat noir about the departure. You enjoy your trip.”

-”Alright, if you are sure.”

-Fu decides to meet with chat noir.

-Fu contacts Adrien to meet him at a rooftop.

-”Ladybug wont be in paris?” Chat noir was shocked. (He was so happy to be leaving for the US with his friends and Girlfriend, he actually forgot that Ladybug is marinette and that means she wont be in Paris. And that HE wont be in paris.”

-”Right, and I have a feeling you wont be in Paris either. Your class is having a trip.”

-Adrien doesnt bother asking how he knows that. He assumes Marinette told him.

-”Wait, If Ladybug or I are not in paris...”

-”Dont worry, i will alert you both should anything happen. Ladybug has the horse miraculous on her. If she is close by, she can give you a ride, if not. Your astro form should be able to fly you back to Paris fast enough to get there.”

-Chat noir nods. He cant say he knows she will be close by. But he does know.

-Ladybug doesnt contact Chat noir about the trip, because there is no need to burden him over it.

-Marinette isnt late, because Adrien had G come pick her up with him.

- So they have some cute handholding as Marinette excitedly talks about going to new york.

-Once they get on the Plane, Marinette and Adrien sit next to each other. So we get Startrain 2.0. With them sleeping on the other, and being cute. No musical plane tickets.

-Alya and Nino are happy for the two of them, commenting that they are still so innocent. But they have no plans on pushing them

-Marinette and Adrien both end up needing to get up and they catch the sunset together. Cue cute almost kiss. But then Techno pirate ruins it.

-The United heroes step in to handle things just like in canon. Marinette and Adrien both internally relieved that they can relax and let other heroes handle things.

-The two enjoy a nice flight to the states

-Fu may have called Marianne to help him keep an eye out in the city. She was happy to have an excuse to see fu. It was like a date for them.

-Meanwhile, Marinette and class arrive at the hotel. Aeon comments that Adrien and Marinette are perfect for eachother. Jess doesnt care.

-Chloé isnt depressed as she was in canon, so she isnt dismissive of Sabrina having fun with an american boy. In fact, she decides that she would be more positive. Trying to be the heroine ladybug said she could be. Though... being nice is hard. Alix comments that she looks constipated

-Sabrina is so happy that Chloé is supportive of her. It was a surprise change.

-Chloé was still not thrilled about rooming with Alya and Marinette. But says its fine. Alya is kind of creeped out by Chloé's more ‘Friendly’ attitude. Marinette says that they should still encourage it.

-The class sneaks out to go to the roof party. Marinette and Adrien end up in Aeon and Jess room.

-”Im marinette and this is Adrien.” “Im her boyfriend”

-Aeon is VERY happy to hear that. Jess is indifferent, but helps them both get to the roof.

-The class has fun and Hotdog dan arrives with his magical dogs of hotness.

-Marinette and Adrien have no trouble sharing the hot dog. Alya still a pro wing woman, totally gets Jess to play the song.

-Marinette is 100% down with dancing. Commenting that she remembers that dance.

-Adrien thanking Marinette for convincing his dad, and that she is so amazing. She is practically melting.

-”You’re the perfect girlfriend.”

-Marinette happy giggling and telling him he is such a cute dork.

-Yes there is a kiss under the moonlight.

-Next day, the class is at the museum. Aeon knows Jess ships it too, cause she admits they are adorable. There is no need for an elaborate plan, so they dont have the class do the thing.

-Gabriel sets his plan into motion.

-Fu see’s robustus and texts Marinette. Allowing her to move. Adrien notices her sudden rush and figures there is trouble.

-Ladybug transforms in private and uses unify with the horse miraculous to make a portal to paris. Chat noir calls out to her. Which surprises her.

-”Wait, why are you in new york?”

-”Its cool, I cleared it with Fu before I left.”

-Ladybug sorta does the same thing she did in startrain and just rolls with it, just commenting how lucky he is that they were both near eachother, and that if he is leaving paris, he should tell her. Chat noir agrees.

-They get to Paris and start fighting Robustus, who they realize shouldnt be here, because Markov is in New york.

-Meanwhile, Technolizer, takes the sword and Sparrow and Uncanny Valley hear the commotion. They dont see Ladybug and Chat noir being independent, so they dont try to strike out on their own, they do the responsible thing and call for back up, Then try to fight him.

-Ladybug and Chat noir are in Paris fighting Robustus, and trying to find his weakness. But after a bit, Robustus just vanishes. Confusing the two. ladybug uses her Lucky charm to fix the damage, and then they get a portal to head back. Ladybug and Chat noir head back. Ladybug is mad suspicious over the sudden monster that seemed like all for nothing.

-Ladybug and Chat noir arrive to see the damage to the museum. Hawkmoth had successfully snatched the Eagle necklace thanks to the distraction from Technolizer. He is able to help the villain escape from the heroes, who were having a tougher time with the beefed up villain (until Majestia got more serious)

-Ladybug telling chat noir that if there is trouble to contact her, and she would do the same. Something is up with Hawkmoth.

-Hawkmoth has the eagle miraculous. He finds out the power of the miraculous is to liberate people. Which doesnt sound as useful to hawkmoth as he would like, but he gets a plan. He reakumatizes Techno Pirate.

-The events left New york damaged, but the heroes were not angry at ladybug and Chat noir since they have NO idea why Techno pirate got an upgrade.

-Marinette and Adrien went to catch up with the class. Where a car arrives for Adrien. Commenting that he clearly made a mistake letting him come.

-Marinette didnt stand by and say nothing (since she wasnt depressed or downtroden) she told Gabriel that she should let him stay. That the heroes would protect him, and that she would be by his side.

-Adrien also sided with Marinette. Gabriel was shocked, and angry that his son would Dare disobey him (which stirs the seeds on why he would use Marinette as a tool for an akuma at a later time). Gabriel gives one more stern command but Adrien is determined to stay. (plus he wasnt bummed about everything either so that helped his confidence)

-Jess and Aeon wanted to go with the heroes to help find technolizer but Civillian Majestia and Knightowl said that they needed them to stay here to protect the tourists. Which made them want to prove themselves.

-Cue the Hawkmoth’s plan using The akuma techno pirate with the eagle miraculous.

-Jess and Aeon notice that things are going wrong. Marinette and Adrien both realize it as well and sneak out to go help.

-Aeon realizes that Chat noir and Ladybug are Adrien and Marinette (because she is tech and is immune to that glamor effect. And is of course is even MORE stoked on them. The four of them meet up and work on the plan thats the same as in canon, (using the door hero’s power)

-The fight pretty much goes the same way as in canon, and Hawkmoth is actually pissed off instead of happy that there are more miraculous. Nathalie is now worse off then before. He is now even More desperate since his plan failed.

-Majestia and Knightowl are proud of their side kicks and Jess/eagle gets to be a hero in her own right. Proving her worth. Uncanny valley is her partner.

-Uncanny valley tells them she knows who they are and that she will clear the memories so that no one will know. Jess gets the eagle miraculous. (Marinette tells Fu about this, Fu says its fine. It isnt from his miraculous box, not his jurisdiction.)

-Marinette and Adrien enjoy the rest of the trip with the class. Marinette commenting to adrien how amazing all these heroes are.

-”I think you are much more amazing Marinette.”

-Cue adrinette cuteness

-Gabriel goes back to america, angry and now so much more desperate then before

Life Journal 4

Life as a Hispanic is something that will be told for many generations and it wont stop anytime soon. Everyone will hear many stories about how the Hispanic community has endured and overcome many great challenges and road bumps. And with the internet being a bank of information, it isnt like the stories that have been told will be lost forever. We share many things and that story gets passed around and around until it has reached enough people. While this may not involve the internet, I do remember a story that my mom had told me before about what I did as a little kid back in DR. My dad was in NY when this happened. But, I essentially broke out of my house and wandered the streets looking for my dad. The first time this happened, my mom forgave me because she honestly felt bad. Who wouldnt have their heart strings stretch if they heard that story. But the second time, I got punished for it. Safe to say that it was not one of my bright moments. But, I was a kid. So, I didnt know better. Anyways, Hispanic culture is something that will never die and live on. It is historically engraved into the lives of everyone. Sadly though, a lot of our history lies in darkness. As most people know, Latin America and the Caribbean has been colonized before and a lot of the aftershock of colonization is still being felt today. It also influenced the culture of those places into things that are seen today. But even so, history can be a cruel mistress. I remember one time that my grandmother told me a story about Trujillo. For those that dont know, he was the dictator of the Dominican Republic since the 1930s. His reign ended in 1961, where he was assassinated. During his reign, she has seen many horrors of that man and the many deaths that happened. Trujillo was essentially what would have killed the Dominican Republic if he wasnt killed eventually. She describes those times as hard and nearly impossible. I remember that she said that most houses needed to have a picture of Trujillo in their homes. The authorities would also do as they please. He also just raped women left and right with no care in the world. As my grandmother told me this story, i felt disgusted. How could the island elect such a monster? Turns out, the US placed him there. The US forced DR to place Trujillo i power as a puppet state. Thinking about it now, it makes sense because the US has done stuff like this for many years. And not just in Hispanic countries. The US has placed puppet governments all around the world, essentially shoving its influence down everyone’s throat. Though, some countries denied such thing. Now, the Dominican Republic is better off. It is actually thriving for the most part. Though, it still has its share of corruption. Moving on, I feel like our way of life is just something that we are proud of. Dominicans are many things. One thing that stands out the most is that we are very prideful. I have not met a Dominican that isnt prideful. Now, that is not to say that Dominicans are the only ones that have the most pride out of all the Hispanic countries. But, they will show their love for their island in a lot of ways too. Having pride for your country is typical of a person born there, It means that they are a true patriot to their country, just like how many US citizens are patriots to the US. We are proud of being Dominicans, and by extension, Hispanic. The reason for that pride is because we have gone through so much historically, economically, racially, etc. Not as much as others though. But, we have had our share of pain. I remember going back to the Dominican Republic a few years back. As we drove through neighborhoods and the outskirts of the city, i noticed that there were houses that looked inspired by English designs. You can see that there are some parts of the structure that is directly influenced by modern design and old school as well. Some houses are one floored establishments and some are two floors. If i am being honest, I love the designs of these houses because they are basic in nature. They are big enough for a family to do what they need to do and they also have another purpose. Because DR is near the equator, the island can get extremely hot and humid. If there was building that were created like the ones in NY, people will suffocate. So, they were built big in order to allow air to circulate through the house and dissipate the heat or cool air elsewhere. But for someone to even create such a thing, they would have had to have gotten some sort of education on the arts and construction. Unlike in the US, who have a lot of schools that teach students how to be an engineer, the people of DR, have to find their own way of teaching themselves how to do things. And man, are they damn good at it too. Most of the constructed buildings are done by people that have not gone to school. At least, buildings that are not high rises or important buildings, Those are mostly reserved for those that actually have gone to school and are qualified. Speaking of schools, I have had many good and many bad memories of school in the island. There was one time that I was just playing with a friend of mine at the time. We sadly disappeared from each other’s lifes after we passed third grade. It was at that time when I moved to the US. Anyways, we were playing when these bullies came up and did their bullying. Most kids just let it happen. But, I didnt. I was one of the rare few that would fight back. But because they were bigger than me, there would be no way I would win should the fights be prolonged. But it was around that a teacher would come and separate us. And the good part? I never got in trouble for that. They knew that I was a reserved (still am) kid and always kept to myself. The teachers felt that they wont see me as a trouble maker. And they were right. I have always felt that life as a Hispanic person has always been something that I find pride and joy with. The reason for that is because I am part of a culture that can have a direct influence on the happenings of America. We fought to have the same opportunities as those that are citizens while some of us were either immigrants or undocumented. Though, we can all agree that those that are undocumented are the ones that are fighting a lot more than the rest of us. They want to make sure that they can have a future and also provide a future for their kids. It is important that there are opportunities for us all because that is how we can succeed. Sadly, the US has made things a little tough for us to get the same opportunities. A lot of businesses dont like the idea of Hispanics being part of their team. While others welcomes them with open arms. Hell, a Hispanic person might even create their own business if they play their cards right. And that is what makes us special. We deal with what we got and make it work. Eventually, we can even win with the cards that we are dealt with.

Crash

Ok, this got really out of hand (2767 words....). I'll try to get the read more added to it here soon. This is a re-write, couldn't find the original post, sorry. But! Caretaker!Nyar, whumpee!Avanda so fun stuff. Tw: car crash mention, hospitals

Nyar shook, feeling nauseous as the nurse led him out to the waiting room. His left hand wrapped in a cast, he'd been given pain medications, and his mind was foggy. Weather that was from the medication, or the concussion, or the shock, he really wasn't sure.

"My friend...the one that came in with me, where-where is she?" He asked as he sank into the chair.

"She'll still be in surgery. You can wait here if you'd like. I'm sure…."

Nyar didn't hear the rest of what she said. He replayed the crash in his head, trying to figure out what had gone wrong. What he had done, what he should have done better, what he was supposed to have done to save her.

And now Avanda was in surgery. And he had no clue what was going on. His hand shook as he dug his phone out of his pocket. He knew Avanda had been the one who was supposed to pick up Ewan's little brothers, he had to get ahold of someone to take care of that and sort it out.

He typed Ewan's name into his phone's contacts. Nothing.

He tried Adair. Still nothing.

Castor. Nothing.

MacClyde.

Adonis.

No contacts pulled up for any of them, and he frowned. So he called the only person who's name he could think of. The one person he wanted to talk to the most.

"Hey, I was starting to worry." Jace's voice was full of concern, thinly veiled by the relife that was seeping through the phone's speaker.

"Hey um. I'm...not gonna make rehearsal today."

"Yeah, no I got that. What's up?" Jace Still sounded worried.

"I um. We uh. We were. Um."

"Ny? Are you alright?"

Nyar's voice shook as he spoke again. "We um. We were in a car accident."

"Oh my God, Nyar are you ok?"

"Uh, yeah I think so? I mean I just...I broke my wrist and a few ribs and have a bit of a concussion. But um. Av…" He choked on a sob. "Av was-she took most of it, and they took her into surgery and- I don't know who her doctor is, I don't think MacClyde is working today, I don't know if she's ok…"

"Nyar, babe, it's ok. It's going to be ok. Just take a deep breath for me alright?"

Nyar nodded and took a shaky breath in.

"Ok. What can I do for you? Do you want me to come to the hospital? Do you need me to call the crew?"

"Um. I-I think you should call Adonis. Av was supposed to pick the kids up. I-I don't have his number. Or either of the MacClyde's."

"Ok. Ok, yeah. I'll call Cas and we'll get the boys and then we'll come to the hospital, ok?"

"Ok."

"Ok. Hang in there, Big Guy. We'll be there as soon as we can be."

"Thank you."

"I love you, babe."

"I love you too. Drive safe."

He sighed as he hung up the phone. He was terrified. He had no idea what to do. He screwed his eyes shut, trying not to think about the sound of the screeching tires.

“Mr. Frostbane?” He leapt to his feet when the doctor called his name.

“Yeah, how is she?”

The doctor nodded at him a little. “She’s doing better. She's a little worse for wear, but that chest wound was really the worst of it. That being said, good job leaving the shrapnel in, it would have bled more if you’d taken it out.”

Nyar picked at his cast. “Yeah...uh, well that-that was really Avanda’s doing. She’s the medic.”

“Well, regardless, she has you to thank. The bleeding has stopped now, we got her all stitched up. She’s got a pretty bad concussion, two broken ribs and a broken wrist, among a few other things that we can go into more detail with later. It will be at least a few days before we can let her go home, maybe a week. Have you called her family?”

Nyar shifted, "I'll um...I'll try to get ahold of them, they don't live in town, they'll have to get a flight. And her boyfriend…” Nyar trailed off. Ewan was on a mission with Thane. They were both pretty deep undercover for now, and he had no idea how, or if the base would be able to contact them. “He’ll be here as soon as he can.”

The doctor nodded. “Good. In the meantime, do you want to go see her? She’s going to be very sleepy, and pretty out of it, but you’re welcome to go see her.”

Nyar nodded, “Yeah, um, yes please.”

He followed a nurse down the hall to the room Avanda was in. There was another nurse in the room, hooking her up to machines and checking the IVs. Avanda was asleep, as far as he could tell. The nurse that had led him in showed him the chair, but he didn’t sit. He couldn’t. She looked so small, and so broken.

He was hit by a wave of guilt. He was her captain. He was supposed to protect her, keep her safe, make sure that this didn’t happen.

“Don’t blame yourself, Sugar.” The nurse said, looking up from her work at Avanda’s wrist. “I’ve seen that look a lot, and I can promise you that this wasn’t your fault.”

Nyar opened his mouth, but no words came out. He closed it and nodded instead. He reached out slowly, gently pushing a strand of hair out of Avanda’s face.

“She’s going to be ok, right?” He asked finally.

The nurse looked up, “Sugar, I’m honestly more worried about you. She’s gonna be just fine. You need to have a seat.” When Nyar shook his head, she gave him a stern look over the rim of her glasses that brooked no argument. He pulled the chair up to the edge of the bed and had a seat. She nodded and looked back to her work before finally finishing up, patting Nyar on the shoulder and leaving, with a promise to be back to check on them in a few minutes.

Nyar propped his elbows on his knees, and his chin in his hands. He was torn, he knew that Avanda needed to rest, that she had been through a lot, and that waking her up would do no good. On the other hand, he really wanted her to wake up and tell him what to do.

He finally leaned back in his chair, groaning and running his hands through his hair. “God, Av, there’s a reason this is your job and not mine.”

He jumped when Avanda coughed. “Oww.” She groaned.

Nyar shot upright again and grabbed her hand, giving it a squeeze. “Av? Hey, how are you feeling?”

“Cold.” She grunted. Her hand reached up to the breathing tube and her fingers started to tug at her nose.

“Hey, you gotta leave that there.” Nyar reached up and gently moved her hand away.

“Hate cannulas.” She grumbled.

“I know, but it’s helping.”

“Bullshit.”

Nyar laughed a little. “Other than cold, how are you feeling?”

“Hungry.”

“The nurse said it’s gonna be a while until you can eat, they need to wait for you to wake up some more.”

“So? I’m a doctor, I outrank her.”

“You can’t pull rank here, Av.”

“Sure I can. I’m a doctor.”

Nyar shook his head and smiled. “Did the doctors or anybody tell you what’s...uh, what … what happened?”

She squinted and shifted, her hand gently probing her abdomen and muttering a little. “Broken ri-two broken ribs, at least, hell of a headache, so I’m guessing at least a bit of a concussion. Plus I heard a decent bit of talk about aortas, so I’m thinking at least a knick from that stupid hunk of glass?”

Nyar nodded, “Yeah, that sounds about right.”

“Hey,” She threw a lopsided grin at him and drew out the last letter, “All drugged up and still whippin’ out diagnoses like a pro.”

Nyar nodded and squeezed her hand again. “That’s my girl.”

She hummed a little and her eyes closed again. Nyar figured she was going to drift off to sleep so he leaned back in the chair, ready to drift off himself. His eyes were just sliding shut when Avanda jolted and gasped, a strangled cry escaping her lips.

“What? What’s the matter?”

“Ewan, where’s Ewan? Is he ok, he was on that mission! If he heard about this he’s gonna worry, and then he’ll do something stupid, he wont be focusing, have you heard from him?” Her eyes were wild and darting around the room, and she was straining to get out of the bed.

“Whoa, hey. Easy there, Doc. Ewan is fine. He’s with Thane, they’ll watch each other’s backs.” Nyar gently pushed her back to the pillow. “They’re the best soldiers we have, they’ll be alright.”

“But,...you haven’t heard from them?” Avanda’s lip quivered a little and her eyes were pleading.

Nyar hated himself, but he decided that maybe lying would be best here. “Yeah. I’ve heard from them. Ferret went to get them, they’re both ok.” He reached up and placed a hand on the side of her face, praying that she was on enough drugs that she wouldn’t be able to keep track of time.

Avanda sighed, and her body relaxed, “Ok. Thank you, Nyar.”

Nyar smiled. “Don’t worry about it. I’m here for you.”

Avanda looked around the room, her eyes landing on the beeping monitors next to her. “What’s that one say?” She pointed to one of the screens, squinting, “In the lower left corner, what’s it say?”

“Um, I’m not real sure.” Nyar squinted, “It’s some numbers--”

“What are they?” She tried to sit back up.

“Hey, Avanda, you aren’t the doctor here, remember? You’re the patient. You need to relax, ok?” Nyar pushed her back again.

“Where’s Ewan?”

Nyar checked his phone, and his stomach dropped. Still no word from Jace.

“He’s on his way.”

“Did he say anything about the boys?”

Finally, a question he could answer. “Castor is going to pick them up from school, then bring them right here.”

“Ok.” Avanda fidgeted her fingers, toying with one of the IVs.

Nyar took her hand again and pulled it away from the IV. “You need to rest.”

“I know.”

“I’m serious.”

Avanda pulled her eyes away from the screens for a minute, a confused look on her face.

“You need to let it go. You aren’t the doctor. There are nurses and doctors here who are working hard to make sure you recover. You aren’t responsible for Peadar and Carrick right now. Castor has been taking care of them their whole lives, he can do it again today. You weren’t assigned to that mission, Ewan and Thane are ok.” Avanda blinked and Nyar saw a few tears welling up, so he moved his chair a little closer to the bed. “And you aren’t alone, right? I’m here. You don’t need to worry about anything, because I’m right here, and I won’t let anything happen to you, ok?”

Avanda sniffed.

“You’re safe.”

Avanda didn’t say anything. She just looked away from him and back at the screens and monitors.

“I promise.”

“Thank you.” Her accent was thicker than he had heard it in a long time.

“You can rest now.”

“Thank you.”

“It’s ok. That’s my job.”

“Thank you.” Her eyes were shut now, and the grip in her hand was starting to relax. “Thank you.” Her breathing was slowing down, and becoming more even. “Thank you, Ny…”

Nyar squeezed her hand. “It’s gonna be ok.”

He wasn’t sure if he was saying it more for her benefit, or his. He stayed in the room for a while longer, dosing a little next to her bed while she slipped back under. His phone buzzed and he jumped.

We're here. Out in the waiting room. Cas just got us checked in.

Nyar squeezed Avanda's hand a little. "It's ok, Av. The troops are rallying." He teased.

He made his way down the hall again to the waiting room. Jace was standing behind Carrick, eir hands on his shoulders and his backpack slung over one shoulder. The thirteen year old's eyes were red and he was staring at the floor. The scowl plastered on his face told Nyar that he was still trying not to cry. Peadar was wrapped around Castor's leg, sniffling and hiccuping as he wiped his eyes.

"Hey." Nyar's voice was raw still as he stepped closer to them.

"How is she?" Castor demanded.

"The doctor said she'll be ok. I can't get a call to her parents though, I have no idea where else to try calling."

Castor nodded. "Ok. That's fine, I can call them. She's ok though?"

Nyar chewed his lip a little, shooting a glance at Peadar. "She's….she's ok. She's sleeping now. Or, well, she was When I left the room, anyw-"

"You left her alone?" Castor practically bellowed.

Nyar frowned, feeling his cheeks flush as he opened his mouth to snap back.

"Hey! He was in the crash too, Cas." Jace reminded Castor. "Besides, we did text him and tell him to come out here to meet us."

Castor's shoulders dropped a little and he let out a pent up breath. "Yeah, yeah you're right. Sorry, Frostbane. I'll go sit with her a while. What room is she in?"

"297." Nyar said. He watched as Castor patted Peadar's shoulder and began to lead the young boy to the door. "Castor, wait."

Castor scowled at him angrily for a moment. "I just...I'm not sure she'd want the kids to see her like this." He leaned in a little as he spoke, keeping his voice as low as he could. "She's in pretty rough shape, I just...I think maybe it would be better if you went and saw her first, then you can decide for yourself after."

Castor glanced down at Peadar quickly, then nodded. "Yeah ok. Carrick, here. Go see if you guys can find something to play with, ok?"

The thirteen year old scowled and took Peadar's hand, pulling him away from Castor.

Castor nodded a little,then shot a look to Nyar. "Thank you. I'll try not to leave you with them for long."

Jace sat down next to Nyar, watching Carrick and Peadar pick through the small toy box, halfheartedly looking for something to keep them busy. Ey frowned, looking at Nyar.

"Are you ok?"

"...No." Nyar answered. "I should have paid better attention, I should have seen the car, I should-"

"Ny. She's gonna be ok." Jace promised. "The doctor said so, right?"

"I guess." His voice was raw.

He didn't say much else after that. Carrick and Peadar both came up at some point, asking some little question or other, which Jace thankfully took care of for him. Castor finally came back, waving the boys back with him. As soon as the door closed, Jace reached over and took Nyar's hand.

"Hey." Ey said softly, squeezing his hand. "It's ok."

Nyar opened his mouth, but no sound came out. Jace wrapped eir arm around his shoulders, tracing a thumb over his cheek from the side. He sniffed a little and wiped his eyes.

"What if it isn't?'' He asked quietly.

Jace let out a soft sound and leaned eir head against him. "It will be. She's in good hands. And you were there for her too. You got her here, you did a good job keeping her alive."

"I just did what she told me to do."

"You stayed calm. You followed instructions and you did what needed to get done. That's hard to do, especially in the situation you were in."

Nyar said nothing. Jace sighed and leaned against him. Ey pressed a quick kiss to his cheek, then leaned away, aware that the rest of the crew would be arriving at any moment. Ey kept holding Nyar's hand, tracing a thumb over his knuckles.

Nyar squeezed Jace's hand as he leaned back as well, resting his head on the wall behind him.

"I love you."

"I love you too." Jace squeezed his hand as well. "And I'm really glad you're ok. I can't tell you how scared I was when you said what happened."

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be." Ey pressed a kiss against his fingers. "I'm just so glad you're safe."

"Me too."

He just hoped they'd be able to say the same about Avanda.

Five frequently asked Supergirl CW questions...

...and possible answers from the comics

Check social media. Read the forums. Scroll through the Subreddits. There are some questions that just refuse to go away. Time and time again fans of the CW’s Supergirl show keep asking the same old questions: How does she hide her costume? Who is stronger? Why does nobody recognise her?

Likely the questions will continue to be asked long after Melissa Benoist has hung up her cape on the final episode, but just for fun it might be interesting to take a meander through the 60+ years of Supergirl’s adventures in print, to see how successful the comics were at addressing the tv show’s most quizzed quirks.

#1 -- How does Supergirl fit her costume under her everyday clothes?

The modern tv incarnation of Supergirl seems uncertain as to whether Supergirl’s costume uses a futuristic (and budget depleting) nano-tech solution, or a classic (and cheap) costume-under-clothes trick. Traditionally, with the exception of Matrix’s brief shape-shifting stint in the job, the comicbook Supergirl has tended to favour the latter tactic, prompting fans to ask how her costume fits under her street clothes. The first such query to reach the DC letters pages was from reader Helen Silberman of Irvington NY. In Action Comic #263 (March 1960), Helen wrote:

Dear Editor, I like SUPERGIRL very much. She is my favorite feature. But I often wonder how she conceals the long sleeves on her costume when she wears a short~sleeved dress as Linda Lee.

Acknowledging that this was a common question, editor Mort Weisinger explained that Supergirl’s super costume is super flexible.: “She merely keeps the sleeves rolled up.” This was confirmed inside the strip itself when Action Comics #342 (Oct 1966) saw Linda referencing the costume hidden under her t-shirt, and an editorial caption handily adds “Linda has rolled up the long sleeves of her super-flexible costume.”

But, respond the fans, what about her boots?

Since the Silver Age, Superman has adopted the practice of stashing his Clark Kent attire as a super-compressed parcel inside a hidden pocket in the inner lining of his cape. Various stories confirm that Supergirl does the same, and visual proof of this came in The Daring New Adventures of Superman #5 (May 1983), when she is seen reclaiming her dress from the pocket. Presumably the same pouch could hide her boots when dressed in her everyday identity?

Okay, so the boots are super-compressed inside the cape, but what about the cape itself?

This is where things start to get a little problematic.

There’s plenty of mid-transformation frames stretching back as far as Supergirl’s early Silver Age antics depicting her wearing her cape underneath her regular clothes. How she does this seems never to be explained, so we probably have to chalk this one up to a comicbook trope that readers (and now the tv viewers) just have to accept.

#2 -- Why does nobody recognise that Kara Danvers is just Supergirl with glasses?

Supergirl has adopted various means of masking her true identity down the years. The tv Supergirl hides behind a pair of glasses; her comicbook counterparts have variously used wigs, special molecule-rearranging hair dyes, shape-shifting, and advanced DEO technologies. None of these, with the exception of Matrix’s ability to shape-shift into Linda Danvers, really stands the real-world credibility test.

The problem here is that the comicbook superhero genre has its origins in a more simplistic storytelling age, were the application of just a pair of glasses, or a wig, or a fake moustache, was sufficient to create a false identity. There’s countless examples from Superman’s early decades of Lois Lane fooling the Man of Steel with just the application of a wig, and indeed the epic Silver Age tale that first revealed Supergirl’s existence to the world hangs on evil Kandorian scientist, Lesla Lar,successfully fooling Superman into believing she is Kara Zor-El by just rearranging her hair.

One can argue that Kara’s use of a wig is potentially a better disguise than Kal-El’s glasses and change of posture, but ultimately both methods have severe limitations. Research conducted by the universities of York and Huddersfield (UK) suggested that while some disguises (makeup, wigs, etc.) are effective at hiding a person’s identity, the effectiveness drops if the subject is known to the person doing the identifying. As such, in the real world, neither Clark nor Kara would stand a chance of fooling their friends and colleagues.

In Superman #330 (Dec 1978) there was a half-hearted attempt to address the problem by suggesting that the Kryptonian glass used in Clark’s eye-wear boosts a subconscious super-hypnotises power, projecting an image of Clark as feeble, but this created more problems than it solved. What happened when Clark anchored the WGBS News on tv; and how did Linda Danvers get by without any Kryptonian face furniture? So, sadly, the comics don’t really provide much of an answer -- we must write the problem off as a relic from a bygone storytelling era, that modern audiences just have to accept as part of the established baggage that comes with superheroes.

#3 -- Is Supergirl more powerful than Superman?

Although both Superman and Supergirl have Kryptonian origins, their route to Earth was markedly different. Kal-El arrived as an infant, while Kara didn’t arrive until her teenage years. Fans (at least those who have wont to obsess over such matters) have therefore speculated about how this affected their power levels.

When Supergirl first appeared in comics it became clear early on that Kal-El and Kara Zor-El had identical superpowers. There isn’t a direct comparison of the two cousins -- they never went head to head -- but DC’s writers certainly seemed to adopt the principle that any super-feats that Superman could do, Supergirl could do just as well.

That said, during Supergirl’s long history there have been periods when the power balance has clearly shifted. For example, it is reasonable to assume that the Matrix Supergirl (both pre and post merger with Linda Danvers in Volume 4) was less powerful than the Man of Steel. Indeed in the latter part of Volume 4 -- the period when Supergirl sported a white t-shirt and gloves -- she was significantly de-powered, even losing the ability to fly.

Likewise from Adventure Comics #402 to #423 (Feb 1971 to Sep 1972) the Girl of Steel had intermittent issues with her superpowers, thanks to the effects of a drug concocted by super-villain Starfire. At inopportune moments her powers would fail her entirely, resulting in Kara relying on various gadgets developed in the Bottle City of Kandor as a backup.

But wait a moment... because the balance of power hasn’t always shifted in favour of Superman.

During this Bronze Age period Superman also had issues with his powers. As part of a shake-up of the character, editor Julius Schwartz instigated a story running across Superman #240 to #242 (July to Sept 1971) that saw Superman lose a third of his power levels... permanently(!!) This was part of Schwartz’s plan to curb some of the silly excesses of Silver Age. Some fans have noted, however, that the Girl of Steel’s power loss was only intermittent, and eventually the effects of Starfire’s drug wore off entirely, so in September 1972 she technically became 50% more powerful than her cousin.

#4 -- How did Kara get her ears pierced?

Since the tv show began fans have been asking about how Kara could have pierced her earlobes of steel. It is clear from the opening moments of the pilot episode that Malina Weissman’s young Kara doesn’t appear to have any piercings when departing the dying Krypton, yet when the episode skips forward a decade to Melissa Benoist’s twenty-something Kara, she clearly does.

Show creator and producer, Ali Adler, responded to a fan’s tweeted question by suggesting that Kara had her ears done “At the mall on #krypton”, which is a fun answer, but doesn’t seem to concur with the pilot. So is there an explanation from deep within comicbook lore?

Yes. (Probably!)

The most likely explanation is that Kara used her heat vision and a mirror to burn the holes into her own earlobes. Since the early Golden Age era it has been established that Superman is strong enough to piece his own skin with his fingernails, allowing him to give a blood sample. Editors initially responded to inquiries about how Superman shaved or cut his hair and nails by suggesting that these parts of his anatomy didn’t grow under Earth’s sun. But eventually, as Superman spent more time on alien planets, they devised more creative solutions -- the heat vision haircut was one of them.

In the comics, Injustice 2 #21 (May, 2018) finally let readers see Supergirl (at least a version of Supergirl) using heat vision to cut her hair. Meanwhile the tv show had already treated viewers to Kara giving a super-trim to Mon-El’s mop in episode 2x05 - “Crossfire” (okay, so he was a Daxamite not a Kryptonian, but hey, same difference!) This suggests that Kara’s invulnerability can be defeated by her own powers in the tv universe, just like the comics, so a piercing blast from her eyes rather than a trip to the mall is probably the most satisfying answer.

#5 -- How come nobody connects the name Kara Danvers with Kara Zor-El?

It may be a small problem, but it’s one that clearly bugs some viewers. Kara Danvers not only has the same first name as Kara Zor-El, but she also pronounces it in the same distinctively European way -- “Kar-ah” not “Care-ah” (despite what Cat Grant may want us to think.)

How does she get away with this?

In the comics this generally hasn’t been a problem. Prior to the Melissa Benoist tv show, Supergirl had been known as Linda (Linda Lee, Linda Lang, Linda Danvers), or as Mae (short for Matrix), or briefly as Claire Connor. Only Kara Kent, the Supergirl of the cartoon show, Superman: the Animated Series (1996), had stuck with her Kryptonian first name. This changed in 2016, however, when DC adopted many of the tv Supergirl elements into its comicbooks, including the Kara Danvers secret identity.

Up until the tv show’s fourth season it could be argued that Benoist’s Supergirl had been very careful never to make her birth-name public, so there was little opportunity for anyone to link her two personas. But that changed in episode 4x14 - “Stand and Deliver”, when Kara can clearly be heard announcing herself as “Kara Zor-El, citizen of Earth” at a public protest, as a crowd watches. So very likely, after that incident, the Maid of Might’s Kryptonian name was plastered all over social media, and given Kara Danvers’ high profile as an award-winning journalist, we’re no closer to explaining why an army of armchair sleuths on Facebook or Reddit haven’t connected the two women.

Sadly the comics can’t really answer this Kara conundrum, because it is a problem largely of the tv show’s own making. Perhaps the only solution is to ignore episode 4x14 and assume that everyone in National City (aside from the regular cast) live in blissful ignorance of Supergirl’s Krypton name.

Conclusion

I AM STARTING TO BELIEVE THAT CERSEI MAY SURVIVE THIS WHOLE MESS........

I have to confess that I ALWAYS believed Sansa’s quote from season 2 to be a huge foreshadowing of a future event, I just couldnt figured out of whom or what. Then this past week it hit me that Lady Ollena refered to Cersei as the “worst person she has ever met” and something inside me just clicked.

So, I started to wonder if Cersei wont end in exile after all the mess she caused in the 7 Kingdom. That was the offer that Ned Stark gave to her right in the beggining....

“Exile,” she said. “A bitter cup to drink from.”

“A sweeter cup than your father served Rhaegar’s children,” Ned said, “and kinder than you deserve. Your father and your brothers would do well to go with you.”

— A Game of Thrones, Eddard XII

That would be a very surprising ending, thats for sure, since everybody and their mothers are expecting Cersei to die. The show made sure to leave the Valonqar part of the prophecy out, so maybe this would be the reason.

Now, I know that Cersei is a true villain in this story; she is selfish, destructive and causes death and destruction all because she wants the Iron Throne, she is pretty much a mirror for D@enerys, the other queen whose obssesion to the Throne leaves a trail of death, misery and pain.

My first blog post!!!!

A story is a path that someone or something took to get from somewhere to where they are today.

There are many definitions out there on what the meaning of a story is, and you’ll hear multiple opinions. Most people will be creative on how they show or describe the story they share. What they contain is information that most wont share to their audience and this can retain their background and accomplishments. In most celebrities and athletes, you’ll notice the background on how rough their childhood growing up was. Some may not be to pretty but having that side could be an advantage to them. When I mean by an advantage is to be motivated from your past trauma because it lights a spark on you. Hearing these stories can really put an impact on someone’s life to make them inspired to be great.

Important elements of a good story can really benefit you into ideas to create a more believable and down to the heart telling. For me, there has to be reason for telling the story. Without reason you won’t have proof to back up and convince the listeners what you’re saying. Reason to listen to the story will draw more people to be inspired and impact the state of mind. The only way you will have someone listen to you if there is evidence backing up to what your showing. Having a powerful, and inspirational telling can really provide them to want to ask questions and put reasons to stay positive.

According to Maxwell and Dickman the story has to show and not tell. The emotions of telling a story can draw to the reader more to an interest. People will believe it more if it is coming from the heart rather it just be the same telling. Have faith in your words was also Maxwell and Dickman saying in what makes a good story. Trust what you’re saying to your listeners because I’d rather wing it and believe what I’m saying then something I don’t know. Also, it states to have trust on the entire story. By this ill state it by saying to be more positive in what it is about. If it’s about you and you’re not lying about it, the audience will find it more interesting.

I once saw this video of an IFBB PRO which stands for International Federation of Bodybuilders and Kai Greene was the main athlete in it. His story was so incredible and impacted many kids who couldn’t play sports because of their injuries from concussions. Bodybuilding is a sport where there’s a minimum risk of injury and that’s why it such a growing field to play in. In the video you will hear him say “it’s like you have to save your own life.” He brings up his past memory about his family then going into a foster home. Being so low in his life he shows that anything is possible no matter what kind of circumstances you have. Reasons like this is why the listener is so attracted to it because they want more. Coming from poverty and in the streets of Brooklyn, NY, is tuff to begin with. Lots of violence comes along living in areas like this one. Today he is in a much better place than he was growing up. Social media is a big area where fitness enthusiast show off today to present supplements and E-books. Kai Greene takes full advantage of that with a whopping 5.2 million followers.

A story can be many things, but it always shows how a person or thing got from point A to where they are today. Audience can be inspired by these types of powerful tales. Tales that change the state of mind of someone by just saying this one quote. This is why I think health/fitness is such a valuable part to life. Everything around you just become better from where you’re starting at.

well that was... something of a dream. im skipping a bunch of the parts thatcare irrelevant to the big parts. so!

i went bacj home from school to pick up smth and xheck on the atmospherixs machinery. the house feels... dark. dark and dreary, and that weird feeling ir always had in the kiddle od the day with no lights on (god the ligbt incthat house was always beautiful...)

my dad is there. he is looking... sullen. in a mood, as he sometimes did, and this also made him... weird and frigbtening. so. i quicksave. my mom is sleeping deeply in rhe parenr bedroom, as she was so wont to do in the middle of the day. ah... i grab my knife, as it makes me feel a little bit more safe and capable. i know, around then, that dad has just stabbed my mom to death in her sleep. this permanently deforms the bed such that the right side is curved up to be at fully pointing uo (weird dr3am physics).

i sneak around the hous3. maybe he doesnt know imchere. i try ans fail to message one kf my friends to please pl3ase please call 911 (no internet, battery died, Weird Dream Reasons.. etc).

so. my dad is outside of the bedroom. i have locked the door. "whyve ya locked the door, bud?" oh god oh god "just lookin for somethin, haha! gotta head back to school p quick" neiyher of us believes the other. he pulls on the door and i can hear it about to give way. i flip open my knide. it does nktbing to protect me as he kills me.

i quickload. we do it all again. this happens... a few tkmes, trying different means of defending mys3lf, different means of trying to get the police called, different means of trying to calm him down so he doesnt kill me... etc.

on the final one. iirc what saved my life was "hey dad wanna help me, uh. with this projext that invomved machinery and stuff?" (mirroring how when i was a kid i always tried to be inte4ested in whatever Handy projects he was doing, bc it was one od the only ways i could get him to look at me with what didnt feel like disgust/disappointment. i felt like i was better than my sibling (who didnt show up in the dream at all btw. i assume they were at school) becaause i did these things with him. he didnt really like either of us, i think.) so. we both went upstairs. futzed with some valves. some machinery stuff. it was.... awkward and unpl3asant and the atmosphere (ha!) was wretched and heavy, with the looming fear that he would snap and get angry again (just like 45% of my childhood *guitar riff*).

so... we skip forward, about a year or two. i dont know how, like. these things worked out sich that he didnt go to prison. my sibling still isnt in the house, maybe they fled. i was still there. the house has become warped, twisted, in that way dreams can do but reality cant. like a bugged video game level, in some places. like someone had taken the model of my home and just... played with it, i guess.

anyway. dad is in a sullen and violent mood again. but this time im not afraid for me (mostly. he might still get mad and kill me too probably). he has a shovel. i know that he is going to kill himself (like i was always afraid he would). im in the front yard, futzing around. "hey. im working on smth out back." "do ya want me to help?" "no" (we had that exchange a lot. i asked if he wanted me to jelp a lot and he said no a lot. later i realized that maybe hed say yes more if i said "can i help" insread, but... i was a kid. can i be blamed for not knowing how to comm7nicate wifu my emotionally damaged/ing father? he was a fuckin asshole and heartily believed "buh wuh well i cant *want* help but also youre a lazy piece of shit for not helping me more" god he whined (by which i mean muttered angrily in a way that scared me) sooooooo muuuuuuch about how he did everything ny himeself in thus house). "just.... stay in the front yard, kay son?" (gender in dreams is weird. it didnt hurt tho.)

he goes to the back yard. i can hear him digging. he's going to bury himself alive (idk id thats possible, but whatevwr. its a dream.)

i decide that i... sont really want to be there, at the moment.

i sneak back inaide. i grab: my backpack. a stuffed animal (it wasnt a specific one i think).

i start walking to the high school. meanwhile, my dad... keeps digging. he digs for hours. he gets a little drunk. i keep walking (but for me its not in a weird "yosh ur walking so long isnt thay spoooooky?" way irs j7st. thays what im doijng. my dad digging was in a that kind of way tho.

i realize that hes goinf to die. and i feel worried about living alone as a teenager in an emptu home. but i feel nothing but relief for his death (accurate)
