my only critique is that i wanted more lisa ;^; i know she probably would've been out of place but it would've been cool if kim mentioned her to ramona and ramona interviewed her just like she did with her exes yknow :P she was one of my fav characters in the comics n she wasn't in the movie AT ALL so i was hoping she would've appeared in the anime, but alas 😞😞 i also kinda wanted to see where kim's love life went...... i know she's not the focus but she had undeniable chemistry with knives and that moment with roxie... i love that she's totally very queer and open to the idea of experimenting with girls n i wish that would've been expanded upon like how todd n wallace had their moment :33

other than that, i LOVED the anime. i love how we got baited into thinking it was just like the comics and i love what was done with it :3 it was such a goofy show and a lot of it was so jaw-droppingly surprising that i couldn't believe it, but it also had some really sweet, serious, n heart-warming moments which is something i really appreciate in a show :33 it's hard to keep watching something for so long but i binged the show in one day xD i'd give it a solid 9/10 (deducting points just for the sake of what i think was missing and how i don't recommend it for like "beginner" fans)

The Fundraiser

Jaune was a little nervous. It had been four months since he had seen his twin sister Joan. He knew she had taken his running off... extremely badly, so he was worried about how she was going to react when she saw him. As the bullhead landed, Jaune swallowed nervously. His knees actually started to quiver as the hatch opened.

????: JAUNE!

Jaune was bowled over by a blond haired missile, and when his head stopped swimming he found himself looking into the blue eyes of his twin sister, who was firmly seated upon his chest.

Jaune: Hi Joan.

Joan: You stupid, ignorance, disloyal, jerk! How dare you!

Jaune: I'm sorry?

Joan: Sorry? You WILL be sorry! You left me alone... with them, how could you?

Jaune: I'm sorry... but Belle and Bella really like you! They couldn't have been...

Joan: I'm talking about mom and dad! Dad was convinced you had been eaten by grimm, and mom spent four weeks crying about how she lost her baby boy to some cradle robbing skank!

Jaune: Well... neither of those things happened, so...

Joan: And you NEVER did once write me! I had to reach out to Auntie to find you!

Jaune: You didn't... please say you didn't!

A ominous shadow fell over the two siblings. Who both looked up to see the grinning face of Glynda Goodwitch... their mom's twin sister.

Jaune: What have you done...

Glynda: So as you can see Joan, Jaune is fine, I've been keeping him safe.

Joan: Thank you Auntie.

Glynda: You are welcome. Now... you BOTH owe me a favor and tonight I am cashing it in.

Joan/ Jaune: And the favor is?

Glynda: You are going to help me with the Annual Beacon Charity Auction. I have your... uniforms in my apartment.

Joan and Jaune were hot and exhausted. Neither was happy with the Holiday elf outfits they were having to wear, that included bell topped pointy hats, and curly shoes. Though the short skirt that Joan had to wear was a little better than the nearly pained on shorts Jaune had on.

Joan: I'm tired. Is this almost over?

Jaune: Yeah, I think so. That was the last lot we had to move.

Joan: Good. I want a shower and to cuddle you, like we used to.

Jaune: Soon, Joan. Soon.

Glynda: Thank you all for your support of the Vale Orphanage and Food Bank!

Crowd clapping politely.

Glynda: Now for our last special client only lot... lot double J.

Joan: I though you said... ?

The Pair felt themselves lifted into the air and pulled through the curtains, finding themselves in front of the several of their friends and strangers.

Looks over to the lawyers, administrator and observers.

Glynda: Can we accept that?

The lawyers, administrator, and observers all shrug their shoulders.

Joan: Pyrrha seems nice.

Joan: Really?

Glynda: Okay... 500,000 upfront, pl;us 200,000 per annum... going once!

Murmurs from the crowd.

Glynda: Going twice!

Weiss just crosses her arms over her chest, and shoots Glynda a wink.

Glynda: SOLD!

Joan: Wow... that's a lot of money to help the needy.

Jaune: It is. But are you okay with this? I mean we're going to end up jointly married to the same person...

Joan: It was bound to happen... considering mom and auntie.

Jaune: True. Ture.

chishiya whom yawned scratched his head titling it to the side, “you don’t trust me?” a sarcastic pout formed his chapped lips, rolling your eyes you licked your bottom lip while pressing them together. “i don’t owe you a reason chishiya, i just want to get out of here with my brother.”

“i’m trustworthy enough for you and your brother join kuina and i!…and usagi can join too sure” chishiya maintained your eye contact sticking his hand out for you to shake it. you looked at his hand glancing back to his eyes giving him an annoyed look. “i don’t trust you once again so no. but since you saved my brother,” you heaved a sigh “i’ll join.” you shook his hand before pulling it away giving him a flat smile.

arisu seemed nervous yet ecstatic he didn’t know how much longer he could last at this so called beach, usagi just wanted to go home no surprise. “ig we’ll meet you at your room tomorrow and discuss plans” usagi smiled at kuina and chishiya before turning around on her heels walking closer to you.

kuina and chishiya watched as the three of you walked away, telling from your body language it’ll take him a lot more to earn you and your trust. he liked that for some reason, what kind of issues did you have? why did he like that? something is definitely wrong with him.

“well that went whats the word..Fabulous!” kuina empathized the Fab in a sarcastic tone. chishiya stuffed his hands in his pockets giving small nods. “i’m going to play a game tonight, i’m running low on time.” he walked ahead of kuina, kuina furrowed hee brows in confusion he just did a game yesterday..

that game was dreadful annoying and muscle inducing. for a spades game that felt like so much work—the card you guys already had so it was pointless. frustrated you harshly run your hands through your hair groaning outloud, god you just wanted to leave this damn hell hole. “you know what my little ladybug!” a low cheery voice rumbled the empty lobby.

rolling your eyes you had already knew who it was and you didn’t even want to deal with him right now, just the cherry on top of a beautiful ice cream sundae, “what do you want fleabag.”

“i think you put up this whole facade.” his hands were stuffed in his pocket. the hood of his hoodie rested on his head as his hair rested out, an earnest scoff left your lips. the scoffed turned into a laugh.

chishiya felt his stomach do a little tingle, it felt like butterflies were flying all over the place, how could he find a laugh so attractive? “you’ve never been so wrong in your life fleabag. i don’t put on no facade.” your voice was a sweet but harshly bitter,

chishiya just had a lipped smirk. he knew he somewhat got under your skin and it was kinda hot. “this “facade” you say i’m having is just me, it’s me only caring for my brother and i getting out of the jail.” you put your fingers up in air quotes.

“so if you excuse me i would enjoy my rest before i have to deal with those stupid speeches you executives have to tell us.” you finally took a deep breath, you turned on your heels to leave but you kicked your dry lips facing back towards the hooded man.

you had almost forgot about the card in your hand, 5 of spades. it was useless, “i forgot i had this. here yours stupid card” you gave him the crumbled up card. huffing you walked back to your empty room.

chishiya had been smiling like a mad man, he doesn’t think you realized. well he didn’t care. his heart was thumping, he felt his ears get hot. the slightest touch from you sent his body into this trance, and hell it wasn’t even a hug it was graze of the fingertips because she was mad and handed him the card.

it’s safe to say chishiya went to kuina’s room to tell her and recap the whole conversation with you, if you could even call it a conversation. his ears were still tainted red. maybe he was into you.

Just doodling something related to this post and ofc there's narilamb in the au who do you think I am

Narinder's kits all turn out to be daughters. Aym and Baal are his only sons and I love that for them, but anyway. Lemme ramble about them bc I /gen love them?

Ari is the eldest of Narinder's kits. She was ~9 (I think in the post I originally quoted 15 years but I'm changing it to ~10 bc it's a nice solid number) when their village was attacked and her second dad died, and she looks sweet but is a total troublemaker. She loves pranks, looks for loopholes to exploit so often weasels her way out of trouble, and is the de facto leader of the siblings. Total extrovert. She's the one who goes "oh father said we can't go to the Old Faith lands but he said nothing about inviting their people to dinner :)"

Elloi is the second eldest, and was ~6 when their village was attacked. She looks a bit like a rebel but is actually the most well behaved of the three eldest kits, not because she wants to be but just because she's super chill and laid back and honestly, acting out and causing trouble is more energy than it's worth. She isn't a natural born leader like her older sister, but she is a great listener and a great source of advice. Definitely an introvert. She does not trust the Bishops and Lamb when they come to the village; her trust is hard won.

Minuit is the third oldest/middle child, and was still just a baby when the village was attacked. So that thing about Nari protecting the kits (and a good portion of the village) during the attack? Yeah he did that while holding a literal baby. Papa bear mode ACTIVATED fr fr. She's still young and is in that stage of life where she's discovering she can actually just choose to disobey her dad, and the worst thing he will do is ground her. And, as a baby introvert/ambivert, this is just fine for her. She loves to read. Stories are her bread and butter, and she LOVES songs that tell a story. Absolutely adores it. Btw her name I said fuck it, I can name a kit Minuit if I want. She will one day be, magically, the strongest between her, Elloi and Ari. (Mercy and Hope will be stronger but ya know)

The three kits above, being the kits of an ex-god, are demi-gods but have no idea. All they know is their magic is just quite a bit stronger than the other villagers' and assume (correctly) that it's bc of Narinder. Now, what each of their magic is I am undecided. I am thinking about it......

Now for the twins- Mercy and Hope (named by Lamb). They're shittens :) But they look very much like sheep (with floofy cat-like tails and Mercy has cat ears) so ye. They... don't exist at the point in the AU discussed in that post, but they exist in the future (more likely than not after Minuit is an adult, possibly far enough in the future that she's already stopped aging). They both inherit Narinder's third eye, unlike the older three, bc they're baby gods rather than just demigods and Narinder's third eye was a result of his godhood. Mercy is a few minutes older than Hope, definitely no symbolism there ofc, and they're super sweet. Absolute angels. Please ignore the fact that they will 100% sacrifice you to the shadows if given a reason. The first three kits of Nari's have pretty much nothing to do with the Lamb's cult beyond visiting their father (and eventually younger siblings) and step-parent and aunt and uncles and... idk what the gender neutral term is but Shamura, and maybe cousins after Narinder returns to the cult, but Mercy and Hope are raised inside the cult with all the trimmings that come with it <3

Oh, and have this random doodle. What's he so sad about? Idk maybe the fact he lost his partner a good ~60 years earlier than he expected to but ya know-

You shake your head and then dial your man. He answers on the second ring.

“There you are, sweetness! I was starting to get worried there for a moment.” The genuine concern in his voice has you playfully rolling your eyes.

“Relax, Andy. Sometimes these appointments can take a while. It doesn’t mean anything is wrong, Dr. Wilson is just being thorough.” You check your appearance in the rearview mirror, noting that the bags under your eyes seem to look better than they have in days. “That’s part of the reason he’s been my OBGYN for so long, because he’s good at what he does.”

“Yeah, yeah, I know. He’s great.” You know he's not being dismissive on purpose, it’s just that he’s chomping at the bit to hear one key piece of information. “How’s your little body? Did we get the green light?”

Ahh, and there it was. Sometimes Andrew Barber was like a dog with a fucking bone. And only your husband would refer to your body as being “little” when you were still walking around sporting maternity wear.

“I’ve been cleared for all physical activity. Which means I can finally start working out again and –”

“Fuck, yeah we did!” He cheers into the receiver, loud enough to make you wince. “Alright, baby girl, that settles it. BiBi and KitCat are going to my sister’s for a sleepover and the twins will stay at grandma’s. Meanwhile, I’m gonna leave the office early to pick us up some dinner. How about we celebrate with some surf and turf?”

“Oh my god, Andrew! We are not leaving our two newborns at your mother’s house for the night. That’s too much!”

“What if she already said yes?” You have no doubt that your unrepentant husband is smiling hard enough to crack a tooth right about now.

“You didn’t.” Your head drops to the steering wheel with a light thunk.

“Oh, I did.” The sound of an eager chuckle spills across the other line. “Ma and Bill are happy to keep Rory and Junior. She said you left them with enough formula and diapers to get ‘em through and that she, and I quote, would be positively heartbroken if you deprived her of time with her precious new grandchildren.”

“Andy…I don’t know…” As tempting as the thought of a night of uninterrupted slumber was, you were on the fence about being away from your precious babies for that long.

RoRo needed to be rocked to sleep, while A.J. needed you to pat his little tush and bounce him just so. And they both needed approximately 1,375 kisses every five minutes, otherwise they got fussy.

“You must really want a good night’s sleep, huh, Big Man?”

“Baby, when I get my hands on you, I promise that sleeping will be the last thing on both of our minds. Now, I’ve gotta run. But I’ll see you home around 4:00pm.”

“Andy…”

How did you tell your husband that you weren’t really feeling your post-pregnancy body right now? You’d even taken to changing in the bathroom lately. Thankfully he hadn’t seemed to notice that increasingly bad habit of yours…

At least not yet. But it was only a matter of time.

“Hush, sweetness. You just let Daddy take care of everything, okay? I’ve been dreaming of this day for almost two months now, and I plan to take my time loving all over every inch of your delectable body. And what’s more, you’re going to let me.” You can practically feel your nipples pebbling beneath the fabric of your shirt.

God, how did he always manage to sound so sexy when he was telling you what to do? Handsome ass buttface!

“I’ve gotta head into this meeting, but in the meantime, get some rest. You’re gonna need it.”

“Yeah, okay, sure.” You respond with a resigned sigh. “I…I guess I’ll see you when you get home then.”

there are so many things i want to point out but AHHHHGGG tumblr ask box controls my ramblings. before I start though, I knew it wasn't gonna be true but RIP my house of hearth!Rosalie crack theory. you will be loved but missed.

WE GOT ROSALIE POV!! we love to see it, its so fun to see her perspective, and I love how her first reaction to hearing that T!Reader used to be a fatuus isn't betrayal but sadness. Sadness that she seemed to not be trustworthy enough to be told! And not even in a 'woe is me' kind of way! but like in an 'I wish I had done better so that you could have trusted me'. i'm just key smashing here like "jaldsfah IT WAS OUT OF PROTECTION ROSALIE" but I'm so glad she loves T!Reader with all her heart like that.

Not to mention the flashbacks to when T!Reader first meets Rosalie! AAAAA Rosalie is just so sweet and caring with this anxious child!solider jsdlkahfahjdf. we love maman in this house.

Switching away from Rosalie for a moment, Lyney and Lynette's meeting with Arlecchino- just how upset the twins are with the Knaves decision but are unable to fight back against father! I'm staring at Lyney with that obvious frustration because he so desperately wants to have T!Reader be a part of his life now that he found her again (and to be a part of hers) but not only does he have to play the role of the good 'son' but he also has the extra scrutiny from 'Father' because of his role of successor. His loyalty to the house and his family is deep but now that's conflicting with his love and loyalty to T!Reader. I doubt he and Lynette know about the current hostage situation-

(considering he seems to be talking with Arlecchino from the perspective of 'T!Reader is working under Childe' while she is working from the perspective of 'T!Reader isn't fatui at all'. I see that very specific language used in that entire conversation! 'Left The House' instead of 'Left the Fatui' ? I SEE IT)

-but I wonder how long it's going to take before the twins are involved, if at all. Arlecchino definitely seems to have many plans in mind if she investigated Rosalie beforehand (i remember how back in chapter seven when there was the hooded figure, I think I remember a lot of us pointing and being like 'FATHER'!?!? don't quote me on that please-) and is telling the twins to stay away from T!Reader while kidnapping Rosalie for a 'polite chat'. Potentially about shared custody? jsdklakf probably not but there must be some reason why Arlecchino wants to talk instead of just getting rid of her. As jokey as the shared custody comment is, I can see it as an option if she wants to continue having T!Reader as a potential piece to be used in her manipulations. Maybe not as a typical House of Hearth soldier considering how she told her own successor to stay away from her, but I can see her forcing T!Reader to act as an informant of sorts. Or maybe she wants to 'convince' Rosalie to give T!Reader back over to her care so she can wrap up that loose thread via… other means. I mean, she could do that second idea by force but I doubt she wants to put in the effort over covering up a murder or two so the fauti's reputation isn't marked by it when she could have two perfectly good pawns to take advantage of.

There's also Aether and Reader interaction! Granted we haven't been blessed with his POV but I like to think he's connecting a lot more to this situation. Makes me wonder if he feels any sort of guilt or regret at all, inadvertently causing a separation like his own with Lumine via T!Reader and Rosalie, a separation between a very close family (or almost family but shhh). Seeing his first reaction to his sister being taken in T!Reader's frantic, guilty and lost actions. After all, if he hadn't blackmailed her, she wouldn't have been found by Lyney and Lynette. In turn, that would have probably meant that Arlecchino would have left her alone in the flower shop for longer. And Rosalie wouldn't be dragged into this mess because the runaway fatuus wouldn't have been distracting the future 'father'-

(my current theory as to why she left T!Reader alone for so long! She always knew where she was, but didn't interfere because what use would be a disobedient child? T!Reader could have been a risk if brought back, she could have potentially held resentment towards Father and 'her successor', and could have lashed out far more than just some frostbite on the arm. After all, betrayal will not be permitted in the house of the hearth. Sure, she could have brought her back and 'gaslight gatekeep girlboss' T!Reader into being the loyal child again, but why waste the effort when the problem took themselves out of the picture already? T!Reader already functioned under fear and 'father's wrath' and wouldn't do anything to get in the way. However, now she's interacting with Lyney again. If it was one of her other children, it may not have been a big deal, but; as recently shown in akagi's ( <3 ) art; Lyney was the child with such a strong attachment to T!Reader that he FACEPLANTED because she addressed him by his name. She may of become Freminet, Lyney, and Lynette's secret since the house pretended she didn't exist, but even if Arlecchino didn't mention her anymore she never forgot how badly Lyney crushed on T!Reader. Although the runaway is still influenced by fear of what 'Father' could do, her fear of Rosalie finding out is currently overpowering that original fear now that she has gained a sense of security from being left alone for so long. She may not be stopping their plans but since Lyney has still pined after her for all these years, she's still a distraction. So now Arlecchino has to interfere to get the 'loyal child' back on track.)

-from the work to stop the prophecy that's still very much going on. Granted, this is thinking in a whole case of 'what-ifs', as it's fully possible that the Knave would have still interfered with Rosalie and T!Reader's life at some point if it somehow became useful in any sort of way. Its just… very interesting to think about, specially since the two have a sort of sort of not friendship going on. (Also, Rosalie??? Asking if T!Reader has a crush on Aether??? sjlafaksjf…. I don't know what to focus on more about that. The fact she brought him up as a potential love interest in the first place; which is understandable, considering her perspective but still; or the fact that when told no, she was kinda like 'you're too good for him anyway'. I mean- 'he doesn't seem like the type to settle' as in settling down for romance? jhflajkdh)

To finally wrap this mess up, FATHER FLIRTING WITH MAMAN??? (the fact that Arlecchino's appearance to Rosalie involves the former presenting a flower is just..lahsfjh jokes aside, it's a very nice contrast to Lyney previously presenting the marcotte to T!Reader. 10/10 father pls don't kill or hurt maman.)

YEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH once the series end i rlly cant wait to talk about rosalie and my thoughts about everyone's theories of her role in the story. (little rant pls forgive me) its funny because i know that other media gave people trauma about who to trust, but i honestly wanted to mirror what the readers would feel about rosalie in how i worded the story when it came to interactions w her! i deliberately made her actions and thoughts sweet and kind to see if people would be suspicious, even when i didnt give them reason to be wary (aside from, you know, being very nice). the readers knew MC's situation and was cautious of anyone being overly nice, so i wondered what their reaction would be to someone like rosalie. THAWED!MC represented the few readers who decided to trust someone like that for once, and to me thats just very interesting (most of u guys immediately thought she was a traitor LMAOO). imagine thawed!mc who had the same mindset as most of the readers! she wouldve left the shop the next day.

YEAH its crazy to see most ppl immediately thinking of the knave. i wanted to touch in the scenes we saw of arlecchino and how she went to kinda watch furina (bc she was also wearing a hood there!). i got nervous when ppl thought of other characters too i thought it was like laughably obvious HEFUSHF

From what I remember it was set in a dystopian future where magic was fading from the world. Wangxian knew each other but not well and they were not together. LWJ was a shifter, possibly a huli jing and could no longer shift into animal form. WWX had a workshop where he worked with androids and helps give LWJ his animal form back. Hoo boy. If this Shrek looking hunk of an alien doesn’t give you nightmare fuel for days after, I don’t know quite know what else will.

It’s come to my attention that the concept of this alien was from a kid’s imagination, when they submitted this idea for a Blue Peter competition. So, this episode gets 3 stars purely for the commitment from the BBC prop department to bringing that kid’s drawing to life as the very puke green, greasy, lumpy Abzorbaloff. I even love the name unironically as well!

Aside from that, for an episode that barely featured the Doctor, I actually enjoyed it so much more than I remembered. It’s very clearly a mirror back on the real life Doctor Who fandom - a group of diverse people (worldwide), sitting around (virtually), discussing all things the Doctor (making gifs), sharing experiences (writing fanfic) and actually making real friendships outside of Doctor Who. It was kind of sweet. And oh so nerdy.

(I am not even going to bother with the dirty joke about Elton’s sex life with his paving slab girlfriend...)

In the meantime, the above image is forever immortalised as the picture for my sister in my phone contacts (she’s put me down as the Moxx of Balhoon, so the love is equally shared). Godspeed, Blue Peter kid. Your fever dream of an imagination has literally been burned into my mind.

okay first of all THANK YOU for this ask and i'm so sorry I took my sweet time answering it

anyway I have a lot to say abt this so I hope you don't mind if it turns into a little bit of a rant because YES Hemingway was terrible and kind of a freak in a /neg way but he also had the most insane 22 years of life I have EVER heard of

buckle up y'all :)

also trigger warnings for discussions of war and not super graphic injury, dead bodies, horrifying age gaps, discussion and threats of suicide, and just generally Hemingway being a fucking awful person

guys my sources for this is 4 weeks of reading and documentary watching in English class, don't come at me if this isn't exact because i'm going mostly off memory here

so Ernest Hemingway, if you haven't heard of this guy, is a super super famous American writer remembered for his short stories and completely changing the game in literature. he was also kind of a womanizer and had like 4 wives, he was also homophobic and misogynist and stuff. in my opinion his stories are pretty average although the subtext is usually super interesting & there's a lot of great discussion to be had (I will refer you to this pdf of the complete collection of his short stories)

so anyway, Hemingway was born in 1899 and he grew up in Oak Park, Chicago, Illinois, United States of America as the second oldest of like 9 kids. growing up, his mother used to do a silly little thing where she would twin Hemingway and his older sister as either two boys or two girls, and it would be so convincing that their neighbors were confused and thought she had 2 sets of twins. Hemingway eventually grew out of that and started to hate the practice. he began to idolize his father, who was a doctor and also had depression. Hemingway blamed all of his father's issues on his mother and most people think his hatred from women stems from his hatred of his mother because he wanted to be like his dad so badly

so anyway, as much as Hemingway would grow to have literally 4 wives, he was essentially remembered as being a no bitches loser in high school. he had very few friends, sucked at most sports, was pretty clumsy because of his nearsightedness, and really enjoyed taking solo trips to hunt and fish in Michigan. by himself.

naturally, when he was 17 all he wanted was to enlist in the army and fight in WWI because he was a manly man like that. however, he was also really really scared that the army would reject him because he kind of sucked at physical exertion and was also nearsighted and so he signed up to join the red cross!! he was immediately fucking deployed to the FRONT LINES in Italy and promptly almost fainted upon seeing his first dead body. he decided he wasn't really about that almost fainting life so he decided he wanted to drive the ambulance !! and he did that pretty well. for about 2 weeks

and then he said quote unquote "i'm bored of that shit" and volunteered to BIKE up the MOUNTAINS with a CART full of CHOCOLATE AND CIGARETTES to bring to the soldiers. he was the snack boy. he was the fucking snack boy for the army. and then a mortar shell exploded like. 2 feet away from him and embedded him with an absolute Fuck Ton of shrapnel ! he actually wrote that he felt as if his soul left his body in that very moment and then floated back to him

so that absolute Fuck Ton of shrapnel stayed in his leg for quite a while actually, because when they finally got him to a hospital in Milan, he REFUSED TO BE TREATED. he said there were people that needed the treatment more and that he could live with the Fuck Ton of shrapnel for a little while longer. so anyway when he finally did get around to having like 275 pieces of shrapnel removed from his leg, he had some serious mental illness going on. he went through somewhere around 13 surgeries without any painkillers or stuff to numb the pain because a) he was super depressed and wanted to die and b) was also kind of a masochist and enjoyed the pain.

so Hemingway was in the hospital recovering for a fucking WHILE right, and he meets this nurse. she's 27 (he's like 19 or 20 or something) and her name is Agnes von kurowsky. she's his night nurse and they fell in love. they did some cute things like her leaving her hairpin under his hospital bed pillow and them reading to each other late at night. they also did some not so cute things like her calling him "kid" and also sneaking alcohol into the hospital in the wee small hours of the morning and her getting drunk on the job

anyway, Hemingway finally recovers and shit is going GREAT for him. he's got a nurse girlfriend who is 6 or 7 years older than him who writes him every day from france, and he just got back to Oak Park and the US was so impressed with his masochistic depressed surgery-with-no-painkillers thing that they gave him a medal!! so naturally, he thought he was hot shit for that. he started parading around the neighborhood in his full uniform and charging the residents to listen to him tell completely false stories about the war.

around this time was when shit started going downhill. Hemingway received a breakup letter from France from Agnes, and the letter said that she did love him, but not in a boyfriend girlfriend way. IN A MOTHER SON WAY (eeeeeeeeeeeeew). so he got son-zoned. and he wasn't very happy about that, so he decided to start partying in the woods with minors and going hunting and fishing again to prove to himself that he was still hot shit. and his parents really didn't like the "parading around in full uniform telling lies and then going to party with minors in the woods" schtick, so they told him hey ! cut that out !

so Hemingway moved the fuck out of there and found himself ANOTHER girfriend !! her name was Hadley Richardson and she was also really really depressed. on the day of their wedding, Hemingway actually threatened suicide but she guilt tripped him into not doing that and then they moved to France and made friends with a lot of artsy people and Hemingway started writing again. He got a job for a newspaper and tried to get some of his short stories published. he got invited to a conference in Sweden at one point and met a publisher that was interested in his work. he asked Hadley to bring his work up to meet him, so she packed EVERYTHING into a trunk and took it on the train- she had it delivered to her car. when she got there, the trunk was gone. to this day we still don't know where all of Hemingway's early work is.

anyway. let's recap. AT THE RIPE AGE OF 22!! Ernest hemingway was: dressed as a girl by his mom, learned intense hatred of woman at a young age, got no bitches in highschool, got too scared to join the army, drove an ambulance, became the snack boy, got a Fuck Ton of shrapnel in his leg, underwent 13 surgeries without painkillers, fell in love with his nurse, got a medal for masochism, got son-zoned, got told to respect women and fear god, married his first of 4 wives, and lost every single one of his short stories that he had ever written

AND HE WENT ON TO DO MORE INSANE SHIT but this is getting really really long so we'll call this part 1 and i'll reblog this with some other stuff I find insane about him !!
