como vi muchos chismes en twitter de tu tumblr sobre un besito y puso las fans en pánico- les voy contar un chisme verdadero. mi mamá trabaja en el hotel en cual se quedó Louis. Hey there, I always learn so many interesting new things on your blog. The way you answer everything in a very detailed way helps me understand Spanish so much better! <3

I was wondering for a while how you express in Spanish where in a book/movie/task you are. Phrases like "I'm in the middle/end/beginning of the book/movie..". "I'm at page 13/minute 35", "I'm at the part where the hero almost dies", "I'm at exercise 6 out of 9". (etc)

I've once been told to use "ir por" for one of those, but I've never seen it used context and it just sounds weird to me. Is there one phrase you use everytime? Or is there a different one each time?

For these, you're more likely to use estar en or estar a OR you can use ir; it's often a matter of preference... I tend towards ir when I am actively reading or watching something, and estar when I am at a certain point specifically

estar en el principio = to be in the beginning

estar a la mitad = to be halfway through "estoy como a la mitad" = I'm like halfway through / I'm about halfway through

estar al final = to be at the end/ending

You can also see casi "almost" used here... like casi estoy al final "I'm almost at the end", or you can phrase it a different way like sigo en el prólogo "I'm still in the prologue"

You can use ir por in these like voy por la mitad "I'm halfway through", which to me feels more like "I'm working on it" rather than "this is where I am"

You can say things like estoy en la última página "I'm on the last page", or estoy con el último "I'm on the last one"... I'm not 100% sure what is most common, but you can see ir used too

voy por la página 45 [cuarenta y cinco] = I'm on page 45

voy por la segunda temporada = I'm on the second season (of a show)

voy por la tercera parte = I'm on the third part

I think estar en could also be used here too... like estoy en la página 45 to me reads the same as voy por la página 45 the only thing is that ir to me conjures a feeling of motion while estar is static... sort of like "I'm in/at" vs. "I'm going through"

If you're talking minutes my experience is it's estoy en el minuto X... like apenas estoy en el minuto 5 "I'm hardly five minutes in"

My instinct for specific problems is estar en el seis de nueve "to be on six of nine" or something like estar en el ejercicio seis de nueve "to be on problem six of nine"... the "out of" is usually de

Sometimes you see estoy en el último "I'm on the last one", estoy en el número tres "I'm on number three"... I think in some contexts and with certain verbs you could use con like estoy con el primer ejercicio which feels like "I'm focusing on the first exercise"

You'll also see things like voy por la primera temporada de siete "I'm on the first season out of seven (seasons)" for TV shows, or voy por la segunda película de la serie "I'm on the second movie of the series". In both cases I think estar would make sense here too

Note: You will also see the verbs pasar "to pass", or something like alcanzar "to reach"... like he alcanzado la última parte "I just reached the last part" or something like that, sometimes llegar a "to arrive to/at" as well

Side Note: You didn't specifically ask for this, but this also shows up with ages... this is more regional though. You often use tener for a specific age [because tener is just the verb you use for "to be X years old"], but estar or ir/andar por approximate ages or age ranges

I think in Spain you say something like estar en la veintena "to be in your twenties", estar en la treintena "to be in your thirties" etc etc

In Latin America you often say estar en los veinte (años), estar en los treinta (años)

Another one is andar por "to be in"... like andan por los ochenta (años) "they're in their eighties"

-Note that andar por is "to be around", so it could be like anda por los quince (años) which is like "he/she is around fifteen"... it could be a whole decade, or it could be "approximately + specific number"

Lol my brother is a sophomore Spanish major and I gave him this before I gave it to my bilingual friend and this was his translation:

It is a great question! He says Tarsem is young but a great warrior, and I also found that very odd. In a way, Jake is perpetuating the passing of Olo'eyktan status on to someone unprepared as Tsu'tey did to him. To me the choice represented two things: one, that the clan is moving on to the future, a future where change and collaboration with their human allies are embraced, because Tarsem has mostly grown up with the humans. Second, I think that it shows how much of the clan was lost. In the first battle and the second fall of Hometree, I assume. Young leaders represent a rebuilding community to me.

I love your suggestion that Tarsem was also being trained with Neteyam to take some of the pressure off of Neteyam. We know Jake never wanted the position and took it out of obligation, and I can see him wanted to spare his son from having to carry that burden alone. I've always liked the idea that he was hoping the kids would lead together, Lo'ak as Neteyam's right hand and Kiri as tsahík providing spiritual wisdom.

Extrañare The owl house 😭

Hay banda... Es muy tarde (en donde vivo) pero estube analizando mi existencia hasta que me di cuenta. Con las filtraciones de el segundo especial de TOH pienso "no mames ya se va acabar la serie" encerio nunca lo habia pensado, wow como pasa el tiempo.

Me siento un poco destrozada por esto, no lose desde que salio me a encantado la serie, y se a convertido en mi favorita. Tanto por lo que a pasado la serie Danna y todo el equipo detras de la serie solo para que terminaran cancelando la serie y filtrando el segundo especial, si a de ser un golpe duro.

Aun me acuerdo despertarme rre temprano los sabados para ver el nuevo episodio que sacaban de la segunda temporada, me perdi bastante de la primera temporada cuando se iba estrenando por algunos problemas que tube en ese tiempo.

Nose, estuvo conmigo en mis peores momentos y solo ver los capítulos una y otra vez me daba felicidad, ya e visto la serie desde el principio como 3 veces jsjsj. En resumen TOH mi casita

FERNANDO SOLANAS, EVAN ENGLISH & JOHN HILLCOAT, FERNANDO BIRRI, Toronto film festival 1988

We all talked about South America a lot in the 1980s, where decades of political tumult had produced no shortage of movies - like Sur, directed by Argentine filmmaker, writer, musician (and very soon, politician) Fernando Solanas, who presented the film at the 1988 Toronto film festival. Solanas co-wrote the manifesto "Toward a Third Cinema", which became very influential in filmmaking on the continent, and he had fled his country in 1976 for Paris after his life was threatened by the new military regime in Argentina.

Solanas came off very much as an elder statesman when I photographed him in one of the clean, well-lit rooms in the old Four Seasons hotel in Yorkville. He had palpable charisma (and great hair), and in hindsight it's easy to see how he would make a great impression when either running for office or presenting his films at Cannes, Venice or Berlin

Sur was a film about life after the military coup d'etat, but it wouldn't be the end of Solanas' troubles with his country's government; he was a critic of Argentina's president, Carlos Menem, and was shot six times in May of 1991, which propelled him to start a political career as a member of several different parties, and he even ran for president in the 2007 general election. Solanas died in 2020 in France during the COVID pandemic.

Writer/producer Evan English and director John Hillcoat arrived at the 1988 film festival with a "buzz" film - their grim prison drama Ghosts of the Civil Dead. It was partially based on the story of Jack Henry Abbott, the criminal who was paroled after a campaign led by writer Norman Mailer, only to murder a man six weeks after being released from prison. The script was co-written by singer Nick Cave, who also starred in the film and wrote the soundtrack, and Cave's participation accounted for a lot of the buzz around the picture.

English and Hillcoat presented themselves for interviews (and photo shoots) as a unified front, and my memory of them is a lot of laconic humour and dry sarcasm. Looking back I photographed them like musicians for a story that might have run in the NME or Melody Maker. The film seems to have been the high point of English' movie career, but Hillcoat (an Australian who spent much of his youth in Hamilton, Ontario) went on to direct movies such as The Road (2009) and Lawless (2012), as well as the HBO biopic miniseries George & Tammy (2022).

El año del descubrimiento.

El 10 de Febrero de 2004 se lanzó al mercado The College Dropout el debut de Kanye West, un productor que venía haciendo ruido por aquel entonces y se había convertido en el protegido de Jay-Z, el rey del game tras las muertes de 2Pac y Biggie. Se ha escrito ya todo lo que se tenía que escribir sobre él, por eso no quiero profundizar en su análisis, no lo veo necesario, además los 2 primeros episodios de Jeen-Yuhs quizás conformen el mejor documental making of sobre un disco de rap que se haya hecho, podéis leer una pieza que le dediqué titulada ‘Reflexiones y disecciones sobre Jeen-Yuhs’. De todas formas sí quería aprovechar la oportunidad para plasmar lo que este LP significó para mí, es el album que más impacto ha tenido en mi vida musical y está en mi top 5 de más escuchados. Pensar que ya han pasado 20 años de algo que viviste tan fervientemente da vértigo, es una cantidad de tiempo grandilocuente pero a la vez tengo la sensación de que ha pasado en un abrir y cerrar de ojos.

Lo descubrí por un banner publicitario en la web de Misión Urbana, uno de los e-place to be de la época, con noticias, biografías y una numerosa comunidad menos troll que la de Hip Hop Hispano, me llamó mucho la atención el artwork, entré al foro y se estaba comentando. 5 meses antes se había filtrado una primera versión del disco pero en esos años no estaba tan al día y pasó por debajo de mi radar. Si habéis escuchado esa versión primigenia notaréis que es descafeinada con respecto a lo que conocemos, que tiene un aire sucio a mixtape tipo Freshmen Adjustment ( algunas canciones acabarían en la mixtape oficial y otras ya fueron lanzadas en su primera tape de 2002 Get Well Soon…) que su voz antes del accidente sonaba más alta y que el sample de Lauryn Hill en ‘All Falls Down’ se tuvo que sustituir por la voz de Syleena Johnson. Y bueno, en la intro de ‘Jesus Walks’ John Legend canta El Tamborilero, esos poropopompon no son adlibs, en serio escuchad la versión OG, John Legend >> Raphael. El caso es que buscando información al respecto leí que fue una copia promocional que le hicieron llegar a algunos A&R y periodistas, las reviews fueron malas y en lugar de confrontar a los críticos ( s/o spanish rappers en Twitter ) Kanye se puso manos a la obra: remezcló, remasterizó, añadió arreglos y coros, cambió versos, flows y entonaciones, lo refinó. Y quitó el poropopompon. El resto, es historia.

Excepto a Hov, no conocía a la mayoría de MC’s que colaboran en él: Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Freeway, todo Rawkus… los descubrí gracias a Kanye, diggeando los samples di con el soul clásico como Marvin Gaye y Chaka Khan y aunque no estén muestreados aquí también a leyendas como Stevie Wonder. Escuchando y leyendo entrevistas a Kanye conocí sus influencias: A Tribe Called Quest y todo Native Tongues, The Pharcyde, Souls Of Mischief, Main Source… todo el rap conscious. Hasta llegué a Dave Chappelle, que se convirtió en mi cómico favorito, cuando tocó ‘The Food’ con Common en su show ( hoy considerado un momento icónico para la cultura ) y circuló el clip por todo internet. Busqué como loco cómo ver Chapelle’s Show, sólo podía ver algunos sketches en la web de Comedy Central y tardé unos años más en hacerme con una copia bootleg de las dos temporadas del programa, aunque antes pude disfrutar de la maravilla de documental que es Dave Chapelle’s Block Party, en el que Mr.West hacía unas interpretaciones en directo acojonantes llenas de energía y hambre acompañado de una banda en la que tocaba un batería de afro increíble ( aquí descubrí a The Roots ).

The College Dropout no sólo me parece lo mejor de Ye junto a Late Registration, si no que supuso una llave maestra que abrió multitud de puertas ante mí, fue el comienzo de mi nerdismo por el rap y la música. Tras un tiempo escuchando a saco 2Pac, Biggie, Wu-Tang o Black Eyed Peas destapé un estilo con el que me identificaba 100%, una musicalidad hip hop inédita para mis oídos, para mí todo era nuevo, como el interludio de ‘I’ll Fly Away’ que fue lo primero de gospel que escuché más allá de alguna película que hubiese visto, esas armonías vocales me cautivaron. ‘Through The Wire’ era mejor que ‘Hey Ya!’ y esto era mejor que el último de Outkast. Hubo puristas y OGs de España a los que respeto que en su día criticaron a Kanye, se le consideraba comercial, persona non grata en el Hip Hop ( como a Jay-Z y tantos otros ) y además vestía camisas y jerseys pero mi yo adolescente ya estaba seguro de su taste. Recuerdo sentir cierto alivio cuando años más tarde salió el documental Spanish Players y Tote King mencionó que era uno de sus MCs favoritos del momento, no alivio exactamente pero si cierta sensación de que el gusto en España no estaba del todo perdido y de que podía venir un cambio de mentalidad que finalmente acabó llegando ( tardaría otro trecho ).

Ver a Kanye vestido de esa manera siendo tan rapper a la vez y expresarse con ese bravado en sus canciones y entrevistas me hizo sacar un ego sano, ser más extrovertido, hacerme valer, en definitiva, ser yo mismo, romper el cascarón. En ese proceso de formación que es la adolescencia Kanye me ayudó haciéndome ser un poco Kanye, puso algo en aquel zagal. Era un artista con el que te podías identificar 100% si venías de clase media/acomodada porque ni era gangster ni era bling bling y hablaba de temas como la educación, la familia y una religión cristiana en la que había crecido pero de la que cada vez me sentía más distanciado, aunque lograba conectar con la épica de ‘Jesus Walks’. Su debut es una historia de autoempoderamiento, usó su arrogancia como combustible para cumplir sus sueños y no dejar que sus haters destruyesen su autoestima, de ser inseguro y encontrar tu propia identidad, le rezó a los cielos y cambió sus estrellas, es un relato honesto de una persona imperfecta, como lo somos todos, un hipócrita simpático y fanfarrón que hace crítica social cargando contra el consumismo para 3 frases más tarde frontear de haberse comprado ropa cara y un carro nuevo. Por eso amamos a Kanye, es (era) como nosotros. También era un nerd, su swag no venía de la calle, venía de una confianza enfermiza en sí mismo y su storytelling era embriagante, goofy en el buen sentido y lleno de humor.¿‘The New Work Out Plan’? Kanye en 2004 ya estaba riéndose de los gymbros y gymgurlz, influencers, cryptobros motivadores, Llados de la vida y demás fauna.

9 días después de su lanzamiento fue mi cumpleaños así que con las perrillas que recogí fui a comprar el CD, el autoregalo perfecto, había que tenerlo, me pasé el trayecto de vuelta en bus leyendo los créditos del libreto y flipando con ese diseño de artwork tan elegante y sofisticado y esa selección de colores ( Eric Duvauchell, el encargado de arte de Roc-A-Fella se inspiró en un libro de ilustraciones del siglo XVI ). Lo que no sabía es que se quedaría a vivir en la ranura del Mercedes de mi padre durante los siguientes 3–4 años, que su carcasa tipo jewel case pasaría los inviernos dentro de la guantera ( a la que un año después se uniría la de Late Registration ) y que sería la banda sonora de los viajes familiares y trayectos en el carro, cuando mi padre me recogía del colegio o se escuchaba el programa de Andrés Montes en Radio Marca o se escuchaba a Kanye. En 2006 cuando mi hermana mayor fue de viaje a París le pedí que me comprase la edición deluxe del DVD de Late Orchestration con esa funda marrón aterciopelada, aquí sólo se vendían la normal y quería tener la mejor posible, lo acabé viendo tanto que creo que lo jodí y me hace skip en uno de sus fragmentos. Un año después ella y su novio, que jamás habían escuchado rap, terminaron sucumbiendo ante Kanye, para mi alegría, con la fusión pop de Graduation ( eran fans de Coldplay y la colabo de Chris Martin ayudó ) y sobre todo con 808’s & Heartbreaks, esos 2 discos se quemaron en el coche del que desde hace 3 años es mi ex-cuñado, con el que pasaba bastante tiempo, era como el hermano mayor que nunca tuve y como controlaba inglés por fin tenía alguien con el que hablar de lo último que había estado leyendo en los foros de kanyelive ( más tarde pasaría a ser KTT ) y pasarle los videos de directos y conciertos que había estado recolectando. La fiebre por Kanye estaba en la casa y recuerdo conversaciones telefónicas aceleradas con ellos cuando en 2008/09 estuvo a punto de tocar en Razzmatazz, cruzando llamadas con el personal de la sala que nos confirmaron que sí estaba reservado, yo estaba estudiando en Cádiz e hicimos cábalas para quedar en Barcelona. 

The College Dropout tenía ese carácter accesible que me hacía pensar que no iba a taladrarle la cabeza demasiado a mi familia, aunque me acuerdo de llevar en coche a mi pobre abuela ( que tendría sus 90 años ) a su casa circa 2011 bumpeando el disco y decirme de repente en voz baja y con mucha cautela desde el asiento de atrás “nene, parece que están pegando tiros en la calle”, fue algo que me hizo mucha gracia y que jamás olvidaré. Mis padres han escuchado más hip hop yankee que algunos rappers pegaos de aquí, eso sí, no lo entendían, aunque algunos de aquí tampoco entienden mucho, sinceramente. No sé si eran tiempos más felices porque no quiero caer en la trampa de la nostalgia pero desde luego si que eran más despreocupados e inocentes, éramos ricos y no lo sabíamos. Hoy ha salido Vultures y mi hermana está desde las 7 de la mañana en un centro comercial, ha llevado a mi sobrina, que tiene la misma edad que tenía yo cuando escuché TCD, a un meet & greet con expulsados de OT, cosa de la que le he dicho entre risas que se arrepentirá dentro de 10 años. Mi padre ya no puede conducir y soy yo el que lo saca a comer por ahí, el Mercedes se vendió y todos mis CDs están cogiendo polvo en un armario, disfrutando de una jubilación anticipada, quizás algo injusta, consecuencia de los avances tecnológicos y el cambio de los nuevos tiempos pero satisfechos por los servicios prestados. El otro día Tom Breihan escribió una pieza en la que decía que no sólo echaba de menos al viejo Kanye sino que también echaba de menos al Kanye de 2016 que rapeaba sobre por qué echamos de menos al viejo Kanye. Así es como me siento yo, en una matrioska de añoranza. Aquel 2004 en mi casa se conoció a Kanye antes de ser el marido de Kim Kardashian y the crazy n*gga from the interviews.

Para finalizar, en serio me gustaría quejarme de como nos robaron con Benji, NO TENÍA QUE SER CANON, pero separarlos completamente las ultimas 3 temporadas cuando tenían alta relación (y me refiero a la platónica eh, sin tocar el potencial romantico porque estamos todo el día), y también está el hecho de que KENJI SENTÍA UNA RE CULPA CUANDO LO PERDIERON Y SE QUEDÓ CON SU RIÑONERA Y BUMPY Y... Es que siiiiiii, Benji en las primeras 2 temporadas tenían un buen de potencial, ni siquiera romántico nada más, pudieron haber tenido una amistad muy bonita con un buen desarrollo (osea, que empezaran sin caerse bien entre ellos a que terminaran con un montón de cosas en común y como mejores amigos o más) si tan sólo le hubieran añadido tantitas escenas y es que TAMBIÉN LA RIÑONERA NUNCA HABLARON BIEN DE LA NOCHE DEL MONORRIEL juro que aún pienso en eso xq cómo por qué madres le pones tanto enfoque a la reacción de Kenji para nunca hacer nada con eso qué pedo??? Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has said he misses his rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo and would have liked his fellow five-time Ballon d’Or winner to have continued in La Liga.

Ronaldo left Real Madrid as the club’s all-time top scorer to join Juventus in a €100 million transfer in the summer of 2018. Since his departure to Turin, the two superstars have not faced each other.

“Yes, I would have liked for Cristiano to continue in the Spanish league, at Madrid,” Messi said in an interview with Catalan radio RAC 1. ��I think it gave an extra impetus to our rivalry, to the Clasico and to La Liga overall.

“I remember I said earlier this year that Madrid would notice Cristiano’s departure, just as any other team would, but even so, they have enough players to be at the top and fighting for everything. It’s Madrid and they have a lot of history.”

Messi and Ronaldo have always contended for major individual honours, however the Argentina forward said this has never been his priority.

“I’ve never thought about finishing my career with more Ballon d’Or awards than Cristiano,” he said.

Messi also said he considered leaving Barcelona and moving overseas during the years he was investigated by the Spanish tax authorities. In the summer of 2016, the Argentina captain and his father were found guilty of defrauding the tax authorities of €4.1m between 2007 and 2009.

“I’ve had several [difficult] periods, especially in 2013 and 2014 when I started having a problem with the Spanish tax authority and everything that came out,” Messi added. “It was difficult for me and for my family.

“I think I was the first one [to be investigated by the tax authorities] and that is why everything was so hard. From then on, they showed they were going all out with me and proved that they would target all sports and footballers.

“During that time, I considered leaving Barca. Not because I wanted to leave Barca but because I wanted to leave Spain. I felt I was being mistreated and I didn’t want to spend much time there.

“I think I had the door open to many teams although I have never had an official offer because everyone knew of my wish and eagerness to continue at Barca. That, however, was beyond any situation that I felt for this home, this club, it was what I felt at a personal level. The only positive was that my children were young and didn’t notice it but we had a hard time.”

Messi, 32, has said he intends to retire at Barca even though he has a clause in his contract which allows him to leave at the end of each season.

“If they want me, I would obviously be delighted to remain at Barca,” he said. “I reiterate that my aim has always been to stay here.

“Nothing has changed; it is as it has always been. Each time it becomes clearer that my aim and that of my family is to finish [my career] here. First because of how I am at the club, how I feel at the club, and secondly, for my family. We are very settled in this city. Of course, anything can happen but the idea is to continue living here.”

Messi has extended his contract eight times since 2005 but has yet to be offered a new deal and his contract expires in June 2021.

“I don’t think there is anything yet from what I know from my father [Messi’s agent],” the Barca captain said. “I have always stayed out of all negotiations.

“I have not spoken to the Barca president [Josep Maria Bartomeu] since our Champions League elimination against Liverpool. But I have no problem with the president. I have never had any problems trying to sort out things with the club. On the contrary, it has been easy. Probably once it’s done [the renewal], there will be no problems and it will be done in no time.”

Messi, meanwhile, said he thought Neymar would have joined Real Madrid if he were not to return to Barcelona in the summer.

Neymar was keen to return to Barca but has remained at Paris Saint-Germain with the two clubs unable to reach an agreement on the switch.

“I thought that [Real Madrid president] Florentino [Perez] and Madrid would do something to sign him.”

Messi said he believes his friend Neymar “regrets” leaving Barca in the summer of 2017.

“I believe so, that Neymar regrets leaving, that shortly after leaving he realised he made a mistake and that he had taken a bad decision,” Messi said. “I believe so but you should ask him. Knowing him and knowing what has happened, I believe so.”

Messi said he is hopeful of Neymar returning to La Liga in the short-term future.

“Neymar to Madrid? I don’t rule out anything in football,” Messi added. “At Barca? I don’t discard it either considering what the president said, which was that it had not been possible but in the future we shall see and that the door was open.

“Neymar is one of the best in the world, he is a player that tilts the balance, makes the difference and obviously to have him in our team would have been useful in terms of having many more options to achieve our aims.”

Barca did strengthen their attack by acquiring Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid. The France international has scored three goals and set up two more in seven league appearances.

“It is not easy to play at Barca because of the football we play,” Messi said. “From the outside it might seem easy but any player that hasn’t experienced the Barca philosophy, who hasn’t trained here when he was young, to come from the outside, as much quality as you could have, it is very difficult.

“He is used to playing in a very different way but I am sure he will adapt. We have no doubt he is a player with a lot of quality, very intelligent.”

Asked about reports that he didn’t want Barca to sign Griezmann, Messi said: “It is a lie that I didn’t want Griezmann. I said before that he was one of the best and the best are always welcome to a winning project that we all want to be a part of.

“I have never had any issue with him coming, on the contrary.”

I was working on this comic for a while, now I finally finished it! 

I was thinking: what if Belos was a good uncle? Then I tried to make something kinda sad. I challenged myself with this little project, drawing out my confort zone and mixed some theories, but letting it open to interpretation. Like, IS Belos responsable for his brother’s death or does he FEEL resposable for it?

Thomas Fuller: The Mental Calculator

Thomas Fuller was an African, stolen from his native home at fourteen years old and shipped to America as an enslaved man in 1724.

He was sold to a planter in Virginia.

When he was about seventy years old, two gentlemen, natives of Pennsylvania, William Hartshorne and Samuel Coates, men of probity and respectable characters, having heard of his extraordinary powers in arithmetics sent for him.

Their curiosity was sufficiently gratified by the answers which he gave to the following questions: First, Upon being asked how many seconds there were in a year and a half, he answered in about two minutes: 47,304,000.

Second: On being asked how many seconds a man has lived who is 70 years, 17 days and 12 hours old, he answered in a minute and a half. 2,210,500,800.

One of the gentlemen who employed himself with his pen in making these calculations told him he was wrong, and the sum was not so great as he had said - upon which the old man hastily replied:

“Stop, master, you forget the leap year.”

On adding the amount of the seconds of the leap years the amount of the whole in both their sums agreed exactly.

He died at the age of eighty and never learned to read or write, in spite of his extraordinary power of calculation.
