My heart stopped. “What do you mean a guy like me? Is that supposed to insult me or something?”

She shook her head, “No, it isn’t, but you are very sweet and kind. Seth also has some weird hold on her. I think she believes she needs him or that he is end game. I don’t know. I was worried that it might be too soon for us to be doing this. We should have waited another month.

I shook my head, “He would have gotten her back. He would have more leeway if I wasn’t around.”

“Either way, she’s at his gym right now. I tracked her phone location down when she wasn’t here. I know she wants closure to be able to move on, but he isn’t going to give it to her.”

I shook my head, balling my fists. “This motherfucker. His hold was a lot tighter than I thought he had.”

“Well, after you left and he took care of her after the accident, it got a lot tighter. I tried to warn you when you talked about coming back for her that this wouldn’t be easy.”

“Love isn’t supposed to be easy. I love Aria. I made a promise to myself and her that outweighs any promise Seth made to her father. I thought that running away would have been the best for her. It has become a lot clearer that it was the worst idea yet.”

“I tried to tell you that when she was in a coma. You let your emotions get the best of you. We all know what Seth is capable of. Aria needs to get out before something really bad happens. That’s the only reason I am helping you. For my best friend to have a chance at a good life. I know you will take care of her, so don’t screw this up.” She told me as she got off the couch and walked to the kitchen. She let her words hang in the air for a couple of moments before she spoke again. “I don’t mean march down to Seth’s office and demand to see her. I think we both know that is a bad idea, but I think you got to start playing dirtier.”

In the morning you were discharged from the hospital, made it home with Amy safe. Once you make it into your place you look around to see all your things are gone. “What...what happened to my things?” You ask. She smiled at you as she gave you a hug from behind. “It’s at my place you're moving in with me.” You look confused. “Me? Moving in with you?” she nodded her head. “I know who was here last night. I know it was Seth, I saw him run away after we came. That dog ran so fast that the time I looked out your window I saw him get in that car and drove off. Let me tell you something right now. As long as I’m around he can’t hurt you.” She told you with a service look on her face. You nod your head as you look down. “Now my love let's go home.” As she took your hand pulling you out of your old apartment.

Seth was at his gym sitting here thinking about last night. Becky walked in and sat next to him, making him smile as she gave him a kiss. “So what happened last night you came home scared?” Seth smiled as he put his arm around her. “Think about the baby and what to do.” He lied to Becky. She nodded her head with a smile as she looked up to see Roman and Jon walk right in. “Hey Seth can we talk?” Roman said. Seth already knew by the look on his face. Seth gave Becky a kiss on her check as he walked with the guys. “What’s up you guys, Jon long time no see.” Seth laughed. “Cut the crap Seth we know it was you.” Jon yelled. “Yeah Seth why were you at Y/n’s apt?” Seth sighs as he walks away from them. “Come back here Seth! Seth!!” Both Roman and Jon yelled.

Tony had a smile on his face while he was looking at the time. “Hey boss what’s up with you? Chris Jericho asks Tony. “I mean I’m excited Amy finally is happy with someone that loves her and Y/n is joining AEW. I mean this is great.” Jericho chalked a bit. “Yeah I mean that’s great another person from WWE is here now, but I know she is not that bad. I mean she did everything she could to get in, but damn man. She really lost her job because of Seth uh?” Tony nodded his head as he looked at Jericho. “Well she doesn't have to worry because here we're not gonna let that happen.” They both laughed as they drank their ice tea. Then a car passed by as the window rolled down. “Hey Tony?” Amy smiled as she looked at them. Both ways. “Lets go we need to get her to sign this bad boy so she can get started. They both got up and headed to the car.

You were already home. All you were doing was waiting for Amy to come back with Tony and Jericho so you can sign. Your phone rang as you looked at it, you saw it said Shane McMahon, you rolled eyes as you answered. “Hey you know you can’t talk to me right?” Shane smiled as he looked around. “Yeah, but come on just this fast talk ok?” He asked you. You nodded, “Alright what’s up?” He smiled, “Look you know my father has to face your finance again in court right?” You nodded as you answered him. “Well what if you let me talk to my dad on re-hiring you and this whole thing with Seth can go away if we let him go.” You shook your head. “Shane you're crazy just like your old man.” Shane laughed as he looked at his wife walking into the bathroom. “Look Y/n about what happened with you and Seth please tell me you got over that?” You look at the backyard as you watch the sun rise up knowing it’s noon. “No it’s all true me and Seth slept with each other, and this was after me and Renee called it off. Well it was Renee who called it off after what happened with… you know what why don’t you ask her I know she is happy with whoever she is with.” You told Shane. He smiled as he looked at the time. “Hey look, if you need anything don’t be afraid to ask ok?” Shane told you. “Yeah well see Shane. Later dude.” You ended the call as Shane had a smile on his face. As he thinks back to a time when it was just you and him backstage as you was his valet. You both did some scenes together even though you were not happy about it. Then just one day out of the blue you and Shane were alone in the office waiting for his father to come in and then Shane just pulled you close to him. “Hey, what are you doing?” You ask trying to move away from him. He just smiled as he leaned in kissing you on the lips. You fought back as you slapped him across his face and ran out of the office. Shane looked back at the bathroom open as he smiled while his wife walked out.

You look back to see you Amy walk in with Tony and Jericho. You had a smile on your face as you walked up to her and gave her a kiss on her lips. “I miss you Amy.” you told her. She smiled at you while holding you. “Uh...you know I mean Tony is your cousin Amy, but I mean...I can watch you know be a judge.” You laugh at Jericho as you tease him a little. “Well Mr.Jericho when we do it maybe you can watch us.” You said so smoothly making Amy laugh. “Yeah don’t do that.” Jericho said. All four of you sat down at the table talking about your new deal with AEW you smiled as you signed the contract. “Welcome to family Y/n.” Tony said as you gave him a hug.

Roman was with Jon both having beers, Roman got a text saying from you telling him that you sign. He smiles texting you back congratulations and that Jon will watch you while you're in AEW. “You better keep a close eye on her Jon.” He laughed “Yeah I will. Plus how did those two end up with each other again?” Jon smiled at Roman. “Yo you know cut that shit out.” As they both laugh. “Yeah yeah I’ll keep an eye on her bro.” Jon smiled at his beer bottle. “What’s up Mox?” Roman said looking at him. Jon shook his head as he eyed the bottle. “Something is on your mind due.” Roman told. “I always thought your sister was cute.” Jon looked over at Roman who was already getting a little mad. “Hey I mean it, but you know what Y/n is already taken and I’m already taken.” Jon said. “Oh so you do like her...still?” Roman asks. All Jon did was nod. “Well who knows you just might work with her, but remember her future wife doesn't like men.” Roman said laughing, making Jon laugh as well.

It was night time as you and Amy were getting ready for bed. “So I guess I’m going to work for these guys next week?” Amy smiled as she hugged you from behind. “Well looks like you are who knows what they might put you as.” You smiled as you turned to look at Amy. You lean in to kiss Amy on her lips. She puts her arms around you pulling you close to her body as you both now deepening the kiss. Slowly you started to take off your bathrobe leaving you with nothing on. Amy pushing you to the bed makes you fall backwards. Both of you laugh as Amy opens your legs with a smile. “When was the last time you let a girl go down on you?” She said with a smile. “Uh...never really. I mean there was one but she never wanted to get down like what we're doing.” Amy made a sad face. “Too bad for her then.” Amy said with a smile.

You watch Amy as she slowly starts to kiss your inner thighs making you moan. You bit your lips as you felt her moving upwards. Once she made it to your clit she slowly started to lick it, making you moan out her name. Then Amy starts to play with you with her tongue making you moan louder. You put your hands around her head just in case if she tries to move away. “Oh god Amy yes...please don’t stop.” you begged. Amy stops what she was doing then she lays you down on your back. “I’ll be right back. She walks away with a smile on her face as she walks into the bathroom. You look up with a smile on your face waiting for her to come out.

It didn’t take too long as you saw her walk out of the bathroom...wearing a strap on. “Uh...Amy...what in the world is that?” You pointed. “I’m going to make sweet love to you baby you're going to wish we meet sooner.” She said with a smile on her face. With you know you felt something hard hitting your center. You look down then back up at Amy. “Wait what about you?” You ask. “Don’t worry about baby, I’m just here to please you.” With her words easing you she entered you hard. You start to moan her name once again as she thrusted inside you. You felt like you were in heaven as you felt her inside you. You close your eyes seeing stars with each thrust hittin you. “You're thinking about me Y/n?” Amy said with a smile. You open your eyes with a smile on your face. “That’s all I can see is you baby.” You told her. The moans that epoch in the room was you can hear. Amy’s heavy breathing was music to your ears. You felt her hitting your spot, you looked up at her and nodded your head. You start to beg her, “Amy I'm so close please keep going...I’m coming.” Amy starts to move faster as she sees you were breathing heavier. “Say my name when you come Y/n!” That's what you did when you finally hit your high with Amy as you yelled out her name. The both of you stop as she laid next to you with a smile on her face. You look at her as you start to fall asleep. “I love you Amy.” She smiled at you while she watched you sleep.

The next morning you were already at the show for AEW. You wave your hand at some of the workers while you nod at some of them. You walk up to see Tony talking with Cody and his wife Brandi and you wave at them. “Hi there you must be Brandi?” You ask. “Yes and she married me thank you.” Cody jokes, making everyone laugh. “Stop it babe plus I still think that tattoo is u.g.l.y.” Everyone started to laugh while Cody rolled his eyes. Tony looks at you as he shows you around leaving both Cody and Brandi behind. “So yeah you're going to be sharing a locker room with the girls while the guys have their own just a few doors down from you gals.” You nodded your head while he was talking. Then you saw Jericho standing here laughing with his crew. You wave at him as he nodded his head to you. “Well that should be it, have fun here Y/n.” You smiled as you watched Tony walk off. You turn into someone pretty strong, “Oh god i’m so sorry…” You look up to see Jon Moxley looking down at you with his soft blue eyes. “Hey there kid, how are ya?” He asked you nodded your head with a smile. “I’m fine oh and yeah again thanks for helping me.” You told him. He smiled as he walked away from you.

You were standing there in your ring gear ready for your match with Nyla Rose. “Hey girl don’t worry I won’t hurt ya like Nya in WWE.” You smile at her. “I know you're not gonna hurt me. Besides, you're a lot better than her.” You said with pride making her happy. “Alright you go first then me.” Nyla pushes you out just so you can raise your arm up in the air. You saw your fans cheering for you as you walked down into the ring. Then you stood there waiting for her to come out. Nothing happens, you're standing there wondering what was going on then Jericho music hits as his friends walk out. “Oh boy.” you said. Watching him walk out. “Welcome to my show AEW.” Jericho said as he stepped into the ring. “Now I know you have a match with Nyal but that can wait for some other time. I have a deal my dear one you can not refuse. How about you join the inner circle?” He said making everyone in the crow boo at him. You shook your head no with a smile. “Alright then I guess I’m just gonna have to let my guys force ya.” He said as he called his buddies over. You look around to yourself. Then the crowd goes wild as Jon’s music hits. You look back to see him running with a bare wire bat. Making everyone run away.

“Hey Chris how about you this I’ll fight ya.” He shouted, making you smile. Jon looks back at you and wink. You wink back at him. As you look up at Jericho standing there getting mad. Back stage you look at Tony. “Really you change it at the last minute?” You ask him. He smiled “Hey Amy didn’t wanna see you get hurt so I’m putting you with Jon.” You rolled your eyes as you sat down. “Oh come on Tony you have to let me wrestler, it was what I was trained to do.” You told him. He shook his head with a smile. “ I promise Amy sorry Y/n.” He said, but hey you can work with Moxley.” He said. “What?” You ask.

Seth was at home with Becky as he was watching AEW. “Yeah look at that babe, I know it was Tony who did that.” Becky laughed as she looked over at Seth who was just sitting there looking at the tv. “Babe? Hey babe!” Making Seth wake up from watching the tv then looking at Becky. “Yeah sorry babe I just got lost in space.” SHe shook her head as she gave Seth a kiss. “I have to go to the bathroom, be right back.” She said getting up from the couch. Seth looked at his phone to see a text message from buddy Murphy.

Murphy : Hey man Y/n move in with her fiance Amy.

Seth: When the fuck did that happen?

Murphy: Almost a month ago, how did you not know that?

Seth: Busy with my girl. She is already two months in and were trying to find out if it’s a boy or a girl.

Murphy: Hey man if you still care about Y/n then you need to forget about her. She already moved on. Plus what was you going to do with her anyways? I mean she is more into women than men.”

Seth: Nah man she bi she likes both sexes, plus...never mind did you do what I ask you to do by the way?”

Murphy: Yeah Amy has a shady background I’m still digging tho.

Seth: GREAT!!! Let me know when you get more info about it.

Murphy: got it over and out

Seth had a smile on his face as he looked up at the tv seeing you standing next to Jon in the ring. “Oh Amy, Amy, Amy, what are you hiding girl?”

You were out shopping for some new things with Amy, That’s when Becky saw the both of you laughing as they both looked at a wedding dress. “Well I see you both are having a good time.” Becky said walking up to them both. “Hello Becky I see your belly is getting big.” You told her. “She looked down with a smile then back at you. “Yeah well we can’t wait, and when I mean we I mean me and Seth.” She said giggling. “I know Becky, I mean after all you are the one who played my finance right?” Amy said with a smile. “I’m sorry I’m not talking to you Amy.” Becky said, “But you are Becky and if I were you I’ll stay away from my babe. Did your boss tell you not to come around Y/n?” She smiled at her. Becky looks at you then Amy. “The both of you can fuck off.” Becky said walking away from the both of you.

You look at Amy with a smile. “Thank you babe. You didn’t have to really.” She smiled at her as she gave you a kiss. “You're going to be my wife in two weeks.” You were in shock as you choke on your drink. “TWO WEEKS” You said coughing. Amy taps your back as you try to breathe. Amy looks around then back at you. “Well yeah I already told your brother and your friends two weeks baby.” Amy said with a smile.

How They Met and Other Stories by David Levithan

From skipping the prom to reading the same book on an airplane, dozens of people fall in and out of love between the pages of How They Met. It is a lovely anthology of high school romances taking place in dance studios, parking lots, and Starbucks. Possibly the very best thing about this book is that the idea came from the author’s physics class in his junior year when he started writing short stories for his friends on Valentine’s Day.

Spoilers ahead ~

Starbucks Boy - Gabriel has an arrangement to babysit a six-year-old New Yorker while he stays with his aunt over the summer, and the six-year-old has an arrangement of her own, involving the handsome boy at Starbucks. I loved the humor in this story and the relatable tale of the attractive customer service worker that catches another teenager’s eye. 10/10.

Miss Lucy Had a Steamboat - This story chronicles Lucy’s failed escapades with girls who wouldn’t reciprocate her love and refused to be known as her girlfriend. With an elementary school nursery rhyme to guide her, she realizes she’s through with falling in love. A quite interesting take on a “love” story. It’s uncommon to read about characters who are content by themselves and Levithan did a great job with this one. 8/10.

The Alumni Interview - Ian is matched with none other than his boyfriend’s father for his alumni interview. He struggles to keep his disgust for how Mr. Wright treats his son from his interviewer, but the truth about his identity and his relationship with Thom is difficult to hide. This story was powerful and funny and actually ended somewhat happily, which I consider an advantage considering the other less happy stories in this book. 9/10.

The Good Witch - Prom with Sally will become a funny story (and a cautionary tale) to tell Damon’s children, from her princess parade float of a dress to his unexpected coming out at the end of the night. This story was pretty funny and authentic as a high school prom fail, but I didn’t take anything away from it. 6/10.

The Escalator - Daniel dares Mandy to go down the up escalator. She falls, and so does he. This story perfectly captures the little moments that remind you how much you love someone. Simple but very sweet and real. 7/10.

The Number of People Who Meet on Airplanes - Two high school juniors meet on an airplane. Roger comforts Rory through turbulence and their connection sticks. Years later, they discover it may not have been a coincidence. It’s so pleasing to read about strangers who connect over a coincidence, like a book they’re both reading, and end up together because of it. The story also promotes the message that love doesn’t happen by chance, but rather by two people who make a conscious effort to connect. 8/10.

Andrew Chang - A girl is set up on an awkward prom date with her father’s business partner’s son and ends up dancing with someone else. This was pretty wholesome and overall a good story. I’d like to know more about what happened between the main character and the boy she met. 7/10.

Flirting with Waiters - A twelve-year-old girl and her best friend Bev fall for pizza boy Seth, relishing every moment at the pizzeria until they leave for summer camp and he leaves for college. This is very cute and funny and I love the way it treats “puppy love.” 9/10.

Lost Sometimes - With their legacy of hooking up in risky places, Erik and Dutch outdo themselves by attending the prom for no other reason. This is the third awkward prom story so far, and don’t worry, there are more. There’s a lot of sex in this story, so skip it if you’d rather not read. 6/10.

Princes - Jon’s personal paradise is his dance studio in the city, where he connects with music and movement and cute boys. This was definitely one of my favorite stories. My favorite part was how pure and noble Jeremy is to stand up to his parents for Jon. Gorgeous. 9/10.

Breaking and Entering - With Cody away at college, Peter visits his house and reflects on their failed relationship. This story is so sincere and sad and offers a good contrast from the other sweet meet-cute and falling in love-type stories. I’ve decided to coin the phrase “Call Me by Your Name moment” to describe heartfelt conversations between parents and teenagers. 8/10.

Skipping the Prom - Kelly and her boyfriend decide to skip the prom, instead lounging in the middle school soccer field. For the record, this is the fourth prom story and second Sylvia Plath reference. “Skipping the Prom” doesn’t stand out as one of the strongest stories, but it’s sweet and differs from the common notion of love in high school. Also, someone underlined a few passages of this, and it’s immoral to maim library books, but I’ll confess that I absolutely love it when I find this in a book because I pay closer attention to those lines. 7/10.

A Romantic Inclination - Sallie and James consider the consequences of falling in love during AP Physics class. Although all the physics principles went over my head, I enjoyed this story. Without all the physics, though, it’s not a very interesting story. 6/10.

What a Song Can Do - The songs a boy writes connects him to himself, his boyfriend, and his mother when he signs up for an open mic. I’m a strong believer that music is one of the few things that can connect any two or more people and make us feel all types of things. The addition of song lyrics in between the narrative makes that idea resonate even more. 9/10.

Without Saying - You love her, Ramona loves Milo, and Milo loves William. The problem with this story is that it’s very confusing to follow the storyline and love triangles, but I’m sure that was the author’s intention and fits the theme of the story. 6/10.

How They Met - The author tells the stories of how his grandparents met. This story makes me want to collect the same type of story from my grandparents as well. It’s so lovely to hear about other people falling in love years and years ago, especially for a young person. Still, it lacked some heart and humor compared to the other stories. 7/10.

Memory Dance - It’s just another April morning for Wallace and Mary until they dance and recall what drew them to one another many years ago. Ah, sweet old married couples. This story connects the characters’ calm and consistent life to their innocent and exciting past. 8/10.

Intersection - John and Meredith dance to the many twists of fate that led them to this moment, from a radio technician to their loving grandparents. Reading this story feels like slowly falling asleep to rain falling on the roof and knowing that whatever happens tomorrow will happen for a reason. 8/10.

Harley/Cody || WWE fic

So go to hell and tell the devil, I'm not that far behind.

∆Trigger Warnings∆

Midnight. She could hear the church bells ring as she stumbled through the door. It was officially Valentine's Day. Not that the date had any impact on her plans. She was done. She couldn't take it anymore. She didn't want to do it any longer. It had been exactly a year since Cody had left her at the beach house screaming to come back, begging him not to leave her. Left her crying that she would do better, and that she wouldn't tie him down.

She could hear his final words to her in her head. "Suck it up princess." She was his princess if only for a month. She loved him so hopelessly. From the minute she saw him watching her on her eighteenth birthday she knew that was all she'd ever need. The night in the bar. She wasn't even legal to drink in America, but like hell that was going to stop her. Cody was tall, deadly handsome and older. Harley had instantly fallen in love with him she could picture it as if it were yesterday.

-flashback-

"I saw you watching me, do you see something you like?" She laughs, strutting across the bar. It was a friends parents place that she frequented with fake ID's. She knew the staff and they were used to her ways. She slings one leg over the counter top followed by the other as she sits on the bar top grinning at the older man.

"Oh I most definitely did. Why don't you tell me your name?" He shouts over the music, grabbing her hips and pulling her forward slightly. He knew her name and she knew his. They worked together, but he was happy to play her games.

Harley throws her head back laughing, tossing her long red hair over her shoulder treating him a vibrant grin. "Harley! My name is Harley. My friends just call me Harls though." She stated, lips curving into a smirk as she wraps her arms around his neck.

"I'm Cody. I noticed you dancing, seems like you're pretty familiar with the staff. Like you own the place. I think I'm just going to call you princess." He chuckles, ruffling his own hair slightly.

"A friends parents own the place, it's my birthday so the staff are just a little bit more tolerant of me!" She admitted, "where's your wife? I didn't think she allowed you to be out of her site for long? Don't look at me like that! Everyone knows about you & Marie." She admitted, and shakes her head before scooting forward, almost toppling off the bar drunkenly. She knew he was married and she didn't give a damn. He was a known cheater, and it was just as known he was in the process of divorcing his wife who was fighting to hang on to him.

Cody laughs, and grabs her by the waist, gently sitting her on her feet "If you know about Marie you should know we're not together anymore." He stated, keeping one arm around her. "Are you even old enough to be in here?" He asked curiously grinning down at her.

She bit her lip, and debated lying to him, but decided to go with the truth. "You missed the part where it's my birthday? I'm eighteen!" She yells, sliding her hands over his chest linking behind his head.

-end flashback-

Now? He had a new Princess. A gorgeous blonde twice Harley's height. The girl probably stood at six feet even, maybe 5'11". Harley not even clearing five feet tall. Harley's red hair like flames and the girls a halo.

"Damn you Cody." She sobbed, alone on her bathroom. Tears stream down her cheeks as she slides to the pristine white tile beneath her feet. "No! I can't. I can't do this anymore. I don't want to feel like this anymore!" She shrieks, desperately wiping away the tears as she springs to her feet.

She'd done so well. A year she'd gone without him, six months she'd been able to breathe without bursting into tears. But not after tonight. Tonight was just hell. Why did it have to be him?

She storms into the kitchen, jerking the drawer open desperately rifling through the utensils for a knife that seemed sharp enough. Fully intent on slicing through flesh and vein alike. She didn't care. It wasn't the cliche story you'd expect. Harley came from a loving family and had a successful career. She was heartbroken and that would be her end.

She digs the knife into her skin slowly. Deeper. "Shit!" She screams, her face contorting with pain as the first drops of blood surface. "Can't make a mess. That wouldn't look good." She murmurs, carefully wiping away the blood with a paper towel. She studies the wound she'd inflicted, wondering if it was deep enough, and yet he still flooded her mind.

-flashback-

Waking up in bed beside him was always one of her favorite things. Especially on mornings when the night before was truly spent talking and cuddling. Harley can hear the alarm going off but curls into his back in hopes of it stopping on its own. She hadn't done any training since marrying Cody. Every moment spent away from him was spent aching to see him again. She buries her face into his shoulder as she feels him shift, "Good morning." She whispers as he rolls away, turning off the alarm.

"You seem to be in a good mood, Princess." He laughed, wrapping her in his arms, pulling her to him. His fingers trace her spine, before running through her long fiery hair. This girl was so entirely different from Marie. She was sexy, fun, and she was sweet. He almost felt bad to lead her on like he did.

She shivers at his touch, a laugh bubbling up and escaping through her lips, "stop it, that tickles!" She laughs, playfully trying to pin him down but instead finds herself pinned to the bed, giggling like mad.

These were the moments she lived for. She felt like the most important and most beautiful thing in the world when he touched her.

-end flashback-

"Worthless! You're worthless." She screams to the empty air. "You're not enough, Harley. I never loved you, Harley." She screams, mimicking the words her love had shouted as he shoved her against the wall. "You were not supposed to get attached. You knew it wasn't anything special." She yells as memories of her month with Cody swirl through her mind.

-flashback-

"It was always a game. You were always a game!" Cody snarls viciously at her, slamming her against the wall. Green eyes looking up at the man she loved, watching him as he screams at her. "How dare you raise your hand to me! What did you think would happen when you smacked me Harley?" Frozen in terror she struggled for words. She'd never seen him like this.

He had told her he was leaving and she'd drawn back and smacked him as hard as she could that's what had resulted in her being pinned to the wall.

"I'm sorry, Cody!" She screams back, anger taking over. "Don't leave me!" She begs, struggling to free herself from his grip. Tears now trickling down her cheeks.

"What part of done don't you get Harley? I'm married. You don't mean anything." He snaps, letting her go.

"I love you!" Harley screams, grabbing his shoulders and shaking him. "I love you. I don't want you to go." She begged, throwing her arms around him.

They'd had this fight before and she had won. He said he was leaving but he had stayed.

"That was your mistake." He says simply, shoving her away as he grabs his bags "I don't love you. Suck it up Princess."

-end flashback-

No. That won't do. It would stop bleeding long before it killed her. Try again. She insisted internally. Deeper, deeper into her skin she dug the knife. Blood trickles down her arm, drilling onto the floor, faster now. Not long before she collapsed, in a pool of her own blood. "I loved you so much." She whispers, knowing he'd never hear her, he'd never care. She'd never be so much as a thought in his mind.

Peace was a funny thing. Something she had t experienced in so long. Relief was something so powerful she'd never understood but it flooded through her mind. Her eyes flutter closed, unaware of the arms lifting her from the floor.

"Fucking hell, Harls." The soft voice of the one friend she hadn't pushed away. Seth shuffles her in his arms, moving her to the bathtub as he desperately tries stopping the bleeding. She could hear his voice frantic on the phone with paramedics, but she didn't care. She felt like she was flying, she didn't want to come down.

"Fucking...Harley. Wake up." Seth pleads with her, "fucking hell, Harls."

"Yeah. Fucking hell is right." Harley whispers, eyes fluttering open. "This is worse than hell."

Save Me From Myself *Finn Balor love story Pt 2. Alexandra (ofc)

Pt. 1/ Preface

Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening my shining stars in the midnight sky (that's what I call my fan base as a whole) my name is Alexandra Jasmine Nicole Borden

, but you can just call me Lexie. Everyone else does...unless I'm around Alexa Bliss then they call me Alex that way nobody gets confused...which seems to happen on a daily basis. Anyway, with that being said I am a second generation superstar on my dad's side of the family and like a third or fourth on my mother's side. We're not going to talk about my mom as much and it's nothing against her. I just don't feel like it, but I will tell you this much she's the step-sister of Vince McMahon which kinda means that I have some power, but not as much as you'd think.

Moving on from that I am the daughter of Steve Borden aka The Icon Sting

so for a while, I bled WCW through and through. I feel like every time I ever do an intro and have to tell about myself that I have to make sure that I include everything I do that has nothing to do with wrestling or WWE in general. That way nobody asks "why are you doing this if you're that or why are you doing that if you're this". So I guess I'll tell you everything that I have my hand into takes a deep breath. Please bear with me anyway I'm a former and current WWE superstar (You knew that I was current, but probably didn't know that I left...I pulled a Cm Punk, but eventually came back), a multi-platinum music artist (which means that sometimes I have a crazy schedule like Chris Jericho), a professional dancer, and current medical student working with both animals and humans...mostly animals thought because humans can be total douche bags sometimes for no reason at all.

A lot of people ask me all the time "Alexandra how are you able to do all of that and still have time for your wrestling career". My answer believe it or not is actually pretty simple. When I'm not on tour with my band or WWE for that matter I'm at school and when I am touring I do my schooling online. As far as my music career goes especially when recording new music I do that whenever I can, but sometimes I do it while touring with WWE. To me it's just like finding a place to train or practice for your next match, you find a studio and get a session or two booked (depending on how long you're in that city).

So let me tell you some stuff about me in general. For starters I was born in California, but spent most of my life in Illinois...Chicago to be exact which is where I met Cm Punk

. I actually met him years ago in high school only because my parents had two different homes. It's not that they were divorced or anything (that came years later) it's just that my mom became a stay at home Mom and moved back to where she grew up which just happened to be Chicago and lived there whenever my dad was touring with WCW. As I said earlier we're not going to talk about my mom much, but for those who are wondering she grew up Chicago because she and Vince have different moms, but the same dad.

It's kinda hard to explain why we lived there all I know is that my mom wasn't a fan of the valley of the sun...I think that's what California is. She loved the Midwest and yes that includes the crazy ever-changing weather. (A/N: I actually know about the Midwestern weather here in the United States because I live in Ohio which is Midwest and it's always crazy here. This year alone we had a really long winter till basically April and it feels like we're skipping Spring and going straight into Summer). Anywho I have four siblings, two sisters and two brothers. I'm not going to tell you who is the oldest and all that because I'm too lazy to and also it's none of your business, but I will say this much the two girls are the youngest. I will at least tell you about my sister Cassandra

though, but only because she's a wrestler as well, but in ROH...she was in WWE for a while, but didn't like it as much so she went to the Indy scene with Cody Rhodes about a couple months ago.

I'm kinda into the arts which I'm sure you can tell because of the whole background in singing and dancing. I like to draw, but I'm not that good at it and I like to act as well, but movies aren't really my thing. I've been known to have a bit of a temper and a mouth to go with it and haven't always been liked for it...that's part of the reason why I don't always get along with my cousin Sabrina's boyfriend Seth Rollins and I don't always see eye to eye with my cousin Stephanie. I have a cat and two dogs that are my world and I will hurt someone over them. I also am a bit of a gamer and can play for hours, but am not allowed on UUDD (Up Up Down Down) a lot because I sometimes break Wood's controllers while hitting people...Seth and Kofi being my usual victims.

When Punk left in 2014 I did too, but a few months later just to see if he'd either come back or if things would change and unfortunately neither happened. I'd keep talking, but I'm pretty sure that I've wasted enough of your time. Not only that, but I'm supposed to be leaving soon with my cousin Sabrina and her boyfriend to go to some NXT promo class she wants me to meet someone there named Finn Balor according to her he's really cute, but I'll be the judge of that. Later nerds...also don't worry if I call you a nerd and The Club says something bad about it I'll smack em...Luke Gallows already knows I will.

Too High Up- Terrion Ware vs Tom Duquesnoy

Terrion Ware is the sort of fighter every MMA organization loves to have. He's a guy who can test your prospects, give them a few unique looks and test what guys can and can't do. Thus far, Ware has given some dicey moments to Cody Stamman and Sean O'Malley so you know he can be your prospect tester dijour. The problem is Ware is fighting third up on the card vs Tom Duquesnoy in a fight entirely designed to get Duquesnoy back on the right track. I'm not opposed to young fighters getting opportunities to rebuild their stock because it's just smart business but Duquesnoy-Ware should not be third fight on the card. Thus far Ware's agent has got him on International Fight Week, the co-main event of an FS1 card and now this premier slot on Fight Pass. Dude's out here putting in work.

Too Low- Danny Henry vs Hakeem Dawodu

In his UFC debut, Canada's top prospect gets what is the usual "hyped guy debut" fight---a really fucking tough matchup where nobody respects his opponent. Henry is a former AFC champ who debuted vs Daniel Teymur and had a hellacious war with him in a FOTN bonus earning win. Henry looked huge for 155 lbs so lord knows what he'll look like at 145. Henry is a flawed fighter who Dawodu should be able to style on BUT there are no guarantees under 155 lbs and Henry has a lot of tools (power, size and cardio) which should give Hakeem some issues. This fight should be on the main card.

Twelve Precarious Ponderings

1- I'd actually like to begin by doing a bit of an exercise if you'll so indulge me. There are 17 European fighters on this card from top to bottom if you remove the in limbo fight for one Nasrat Haqparast. Removing the debuting fighters, that number drops to 15. Of those fifteen fighters, how many of them are some combination resulting in 2-2 in their last 4 fights?

Jimi Manuwa Jan Blachowicz Danny Roberts Jack Marshmann Brad Scott Paul Craig Stevie Ray

So of the fifteen fighters on this card from Europe who have set foot in the UFC octagon, seven of them are 2-2 in their last 4 fights. That fifteen also includes guys like Tom Duquesnoy, Alexander Volkov and others who don't even have a four fight minimum in the org.

The point was to illustrate the challenges of the European fight scene. MOST of these guys fight in Europe and the UFC goes to Europe, what, six times a year? That leaves these guys taking fights outside of Europe but never in America; like Mexico, Canada or Brazil primarily. That creates a pretty weird dynamic where most of these fights are outside of their comfort zones and on the road in enemy territory where they're really just there to be "an opponent." All of this leads to an erosion of fan support as more and more European fighters get smelted out of their home markets, creating the illusion that they're just not good enough. It all leads to a challenge of balancing the desire to showcase international fighters in front of their fans with the fact that there are X amount of cards to fill up with guys who have to fight X amount of times across X amount of dates. When SO many local fighters are in a state of "win one, lose one, win one, lose one" there's no semblance of momentum.

2- What fighter in Fabricio Werdum's past does Alexander Volkov best represent? I can't think of somebody who he's faced who provides the combination of workrate, size and striking depth that Volkov has. That's not to say Werdum can't win (or won't win) but I'm at a loss for a real good comp for Volkov.

3- It's amazing the level of durability Fabricio Werdum has displayed throughout his career. Not even looking at the level of growth he's displayed as a fighter, we're talking about a guy who has fought at a high level since at least 2007 when I first got reintroduced to MMA. He's fought everybody under the sun and only two guys have managed to put him down and out; Stipe Miocic and JDS. That includes fights with Overeem (three times), Cain Velasquez, Mark Hunt, Fedor, Big Foot, Andrei Arlovski, Big Nog (twice), Travis Browne (twice) and Gabriel Gonzaga. All of that is to lead into the obvious; at SOME point this dude is going to crack. He's over 40, fought three times last year and might fight three more times this year given how often the UFC calls upon him. It's just the nature of the human body to EVENTUALLY erode from prolonged damage. Volkov isn't blessed with the one hitter quitter that can put a dude out on impact but he is very active and aggressive. It probably wouldn't happen early but if this fight drags, accumulation of damage could be a serious problem.

4- So this main card is actually not bad considering it's a European Fight Pass card. Werdum/Volkov is a really good HW fight (and the winner probably is facing the winner of Lewis/Ngannou for a #1 contender spot), Blachowicz/Manuwa I was an awful fight but this is a relevant fight between big dudes at 205 lbs including one dude who will always be a "maybe sorta" #1 contender type because he creates highlight reels. Peter Sobotta vs Leon Edwards isn't the world's sexiest fight on paper but Sobotta has really turned his career around since coming back to the UFC and he seems really confident in his hands right now. On the other hand, Leon Edwards has lost his fight finishing spark but still has fights which suggest he's growing somewhat as a fighter. Even Duquesnoy/Ware should be tons of fun. The prelim slate is just so "UFC Fight Pass in Europe" level that it really dampens the excitement. Brett Johns getting on this card wouldve been huge for him.

5- Jan Blachowicz has sort of had a chance to mentally reset his stock on the lower half of the 205 lb division and gets rocketed RIGHT back up the top of the division. Blachowicz has really struggled around this level with losses to Pat Cummins (in a fight he could've won), Jimi Manuwa (fight he should've won), Alexander Gustafsson (in a fight he probably shouldn't of taken) and Corey Anderson. The level of competition there is pretty intense and it's not like Jan has been completely outstyled in those fights. He's just NOT on that level (or wasn't enough to win those fights). He gets a second crack at Manuwa now.

6- I'm really beginning to lose faith in Danny Roberts as a prospect. On the regional circuit, he always seemed to put himself in various states of peril but it seemed to be more out of inexperience. In the UFC, he's continued to put himself in bad spots defensively and his chin has been cracked on a number of opportunities. Dominique Steele had him hurting in a bad way, Mike Perry finished him in a fight where Roberts just couldn't get out of the way for a fifteen minute period, Bobby Nash had Roberts all sorts of thrown off before Danny Roberts finished him off and Nordine Taleb finished Roberts in violent fashion in December. Roberts draws Swedish karate ace Oliver Enkamp in a pivotal fight for both guys.

7- Can Leon Edwards somehow finish Peter Sobotta and keep pace with the other 170 lbers who seem to all be getting their careers on the right track?

8- If Leon Edwards wins, do they try to put him vs Ponz in Chile? I really like Edwards but since nearly finishing Claudio Silva and smelting Seth Baczynski, he's had 6 fights and gone to a decision in all but one of them. There's really no reason somebody with his tools should be so....not fun. His fights are heading in the opposite direction at a time where Kamaru Usman, Darren Till, Ponz, Max Griffin, Elizeu Zaleski, Jake Matthews, Mike Perry and others in that "fun new WW to care about" are all having damn fun fights.

9- All Magomed Ankalaev has to do is finish his fight and be the savior of 205 lbs. It's not asking too much.

10- Alright Mark Godbeer, what stupid shit you gonna get yourself into this time?

11- So about the Godbeer fight, maybe this exposes my lack of knowledge but I could not tell you the differences between Dmitry Sosnovskiy and Dmitry Poberezhets, the guy who was originally scheduled to fight Godbeer. The UFC seems to have like a bevy of heavyweights who they signed but can't seem to actually get to get into the cage, it's almost infuriating if you're one of those OCD guys who wants to keep up with everything going on.

12- Stevie Ray getting a new contract to try and smelt Kajan Johnson is very UFC of the UFC. It's almost like a Batman TAS plot from the Joker.

Must Wins

1- Fabricio Werdum

I feel like all of Werdum fights are must win given how much trouble he seems to bring with him. The last time we saw Werdum, he was throwing boomerangs at folks and shouting out Chechen warlords while also decisioning a very good HW in Marcin Tybura. The time before that he took a fight on thirty minutes notice vs Walt Harris and was caught on camera using the unacceptable f word in Spanish like six times. Werdum vs Volkov is a great HW fight that pits the old dog in the race vs the seasoned in his prime pro who is peaking. Good fight but a must win for the always controversial Werdum.

2- Tom Duquesnoy

This entire thing is tailor made for Duquesnoy. He's getting a guy coming off two losses who is a glorified opponent. He's in Europe, he's on the main card and this entire showcase is built to make him look good and like the star. He truly cannot fuck this up.

3- Magomed Ankalaev

Mr. Ankalaev, I do not know you. I do not necessarily believe I have to know you at this point. All I know is you're a new light heavyweight. God speed, my dude.

Oh the Horror! Or is it the Horror Show at Extreme Rules!

We are now just one week away from the next WWE PPV in the COVID-19 pandemic era from the Performance Center. This PPV is usually built around the gimmicks and this year is no different. We’ll get a Swamp Match from Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman for the Universal Title. We’ll get an Eye for an Eye (or whatever that means) Match between Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins. It’ll be a Bar Fight between Jeff Hardy and Sheamus and so much more.

Dolph Ziggler is waiting to tell the World what the stipulation will be against Drew McIntyre for his WWE Championship. It’s building to be a pretty decent PPV. I would expect the Swamp Match to be cinematic of course. It’ll be interesting to see how they incorporate the wetlands into their history. My expectations aren’t very high, so here’s hoping!

I expect Asuka vs. Sasha Banks to steal the show too! Could it be time for Sasha and Bayley to wear ALL the women’s gold in the WWE. I think so!

It’s hard to imagine that SummerSlam is one month away and we are still in the crowd-less era. Who would’ve ever thought that would be. It will be interesting to see how New Japan Wrestling handles their first event with fans, roughly 3,500 for this weekend’s event in Japan. But, things are so different here in the United States that I don’t see fans in the stands anytime soon with all the spikes we are getting, especially with the WWE based in Florida these days, the new epicenter of the coronavirus.

But, with that in mind, here’s where we stand:

Heath Slater – Talk about delivering the promo of his WWE life! Slater brought the reality to bestie Drew McIntyre before Drew claymored him straight to defeat. Loved the surprise of Slater showing up while in the final days of his no-compete clause of his contract. I just wished they would’ve had Slater beat up Dolph Ziggler to further the storyline. Maybe, like Drew Maverick on NXT, it’s not the last of Heath just yet?

Asuka vs. Bayley – Two of the best in-ring performers right now, men or women, in the WWE. Nikki Cross showed how unpredictable she is too by showing up behind the plexiglass to help Asuka pull off the win. We are all fans in these weekly battles between Asuka, Bayley and Sasha Banks!

Hello, RKO – Found it funny that Randy Orton is again paired with two third-generation wrestlers in Andrade & Angel Garza. Brings back memories of Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas & Cody Rhodes. I love Orton’s slow build too! So good at the storytelling to the eventual “legend Killing” of Big Show to come.

The lowlights:

No-contest – I see no point in having matches end in no-contests these days. Love that Kairi Sane is back to help Asuka and set up next week’s Tag Team Title Match against Banks & Bayley, but we could’ve at least gotten a finish to the match between Sane & Banks.

Ruby Riott, again – I don’t get feeding Ruby Riott to the IIconics each week without the pay-off of Liv Morgan coming to help her former friend. It just makes too much sense not to do it. Having her lose weekly in mere minutes doesn’t do her any favors.

Bask in his Glory – Give Keith Lee his due. He is now Mr. NXT! He holds all the Gold and can cement his position as to where either the NXT Championship or the North American Championship goes. The loaded main event helped NXT take the total viewership win again against AEW and sets in motion the Lee vs. Karrion Kross feud too, which could be EPIC! Now, what becomes of Adam Cole? Does he move forward to RAW after 403 days atop the Full Sail mast. Either way, he deserves a ton of credit too for elevating the NXT Championship.

Robert Stone – Keep the comedy coming! Shotzi Blackheart running over Stone with her mini-tank is comedic gold! Another embarrassing moment of reject for the Robert Stone brand.

Solid:

The middle of the show – It wasn’t epic but it was truly very solid and a buidlng moment as we see Bronson Reed continue to gain momentum with a victory. The cruiserweights continue their feud of Legado del Fantasma against the rest of the division.

Gargano vs. Scott – Given a spot on a different night, this one could’ve stolen the show. But after the street fight and Championship vs. Championship match, it takes a back seat. Wouldn’t mind seeing it again though!

Sasha, Bayley, Alexa and Nikki – Strongest part of the show. Fun tag team that keeps the storyline going with Bayley sneaking the win over Cross. It gives me a reason to care about their upcoming title match.

The lowlights:

The rest of the show! Honestly, from the start of the show with Miz TV (again) setting up Jeff Hardy vs. The Miz with the usual barbs to the end of the show with a tag team title no-contest, there just was not a good vibe to this show.

Don’t get me wrong, Hardy vs. The Miz was serviceable and a nice match between two vets, but nothing spectacular other than to set up what we already knew – a Bar Fight for Hardy vs. Sheamus at Extreme Rules

The Karoake Showdown was a disaster! Having Lacey Evans, Naomi, Dana Brooke and Tamina sink WWE entrance themes is a waste of everyone’s time and if you wanted to sing the “Common Man” theme for Dusty Rhodes, wouldn’t it have been more appropriate at NXT’s Great American Bash? Then, to have a no-contest for Evans and Naomi further wasted our time and was just a time filler.

Finally, don’t get me started with the tag team title match. Why build up a championship match only to see it halted at the first sign of chaos that only seemed to let the World know we have a tables match coming at Extreme Rules. There are 100 different ways to accomplish that goal than to waste a title match on broadcast TV.

And oh yeah, did I mention we got a replay of Money In the Bank’s Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt’s title match? Time filler folks. They could’ve wrapped up that in a 3-minute production piece.

Here’s hoping that next week’s go home show is much better. I’m not holding my breathe. This one was not good people!

Reigns vs. Lee – Sign me up for one, whenever it’s possible. Roman Reigns tweeted out this week his congratulations to Keith Lee for his NXT Title win and wants a shot down the road. Make this happen WWE! That is, of course, if you ever acknowledge that Reigns is still part of the company still.

what my kiddos are doing for valentine’s day!

laura tagged along with lydia and rosy for a lot of the day because she normally spends the day with lydia and felt a little lonely probably. but then she left the two of them to do their own thing and now she’s scotty’s valentine and eating donuts with him.

audrey isn’t even aware it’s valentine’s day. she was probably alarmed by the all the paper hearts in messina then eventually shrugged it off and went to work.

harper spent it with toby of course, and baked him heart shaped cookies and they probably went for lunch with their kiddies! she also baked rhodes a batch as well and kissed him all over his face and told him she loved him no less than thirty times.

reuben had to help bill pick out a valentine’s day gift from tori and suggested that he take her on a ghost tour. whether or not he took that onboard is up to jenny :’) and then reuben pulled himself to dinner and asked daisy on a second date and probably just took her somewhere nice for dinner.

mickey didn’t celebrate valentine’s day because it’s shane’s birthday which is a hundred times more important to him. he saved up his money and bought him a vintage signed photo of gregory peck.

dennis went right ahead and bought bret flowers and they weren’t crumpled this time and he says that he’s only making up for squashing them on their auction date and that he didn’t even know that it was valentine’s day but he said all this with a stupid smile on his face and probably helped with the rosy surprise even though he complained the whole way through it.

alice spent the whole day making out with jay. probably in front of quinn at some point. i am so sorry.

leon sent an anonymous card to freddie because he’s in way over his head. silly boy.

atticus kissed eeeeeeveryone on the cheek today. but finn and reggie and amelia and annie got TWO kisses. he didn’t get anyone any gifts bc he claimed that he is their gift and that they should feel blessed.

wren claimed quinn as her valentine like she usually does. she made him a card like she usually does. and she kissed him like she usually does. later on, she went birdwatching with henry and tried to ignore all the flutters in her tummy.

rosy spent her day with lydia and got the best surprise EVERRRRR. she definitely cried. and then when laura left them alone she demanded that she and lydia cuddle in bed for the whole night and then told lydia that it’s the best valentine’s day she’d ever had. also realised she’s in love with lydia but didn’t say it out loud because she wants to tell bret first and ask if he thinks she should tell her.

wilhelm literally just spent the day with ringo starr. his ankle still hurts so he couldn’t even dance, poor bb.

felix wrote little valentine’s day cards for raegan, hazel and monica and then he sent one to eddie ‘from mallory’. but yeah it’s mostly from him. felix loves valentine’s day oh my gosh.

jack sang love songs all day, i’m not joking. he probably shyly serenaded ivy as well.

justin definitely asked raegan out on a date. and then as a joke he’d pretend he’d asked colton out as well and then he’d pretend to be worried about being double booked and then insist that indy needs to come now as well so there’ an even number. it probably wasn’t even his idea because he’s too dumb for that so raegan is welcome to take the credit.

callum debated asking what scotty was doing and then decided against it and just wished kai a happy valentine’s day through the wall before ultimately just going to work and spending his night on the docks.

brody lmaaaao okay so brody bought hunter a bunch of the saddest looking daffodils in the whole entire world because that was all he could afford. and he left them at her desk and claimed that it was so he could ‘keep up appearances’ oh my god i’ve been waiting to type this all day.

riley received lots of valentine’s cards from his students and took them all home with him and pinned them on his wall after he conferred with barry just to make sure that none of them were serious love letters. he sent monty a card and said he only did so because that’s what the two of them usually do.

sutton probably went to hang out with kara and ollie fully aware that it was valentine’s day but didn’t mention it and if it was brought up he would feign ignorance like ‘oh??? it’s valentine’s day???’

let’s not talk about how greyson is doing today

elsie kept herself to herself even though she contemplated wishing tara a happy valentine’s day but decided against it. angelica probably tried to corner her for a kiss but she ran away.

wardo is the most loved up fucking goober right now. he spent the whole day kissing louis and then dancing with cecily and ivy and was even nice to ulysses. wardo was in the best mood ever today okay.

elliot cooked chicken nuggets for melody and then took her to a monster truck rally. he asked for a kiss from raegan and was probably denied it, but he definitely gave rhodes a big kiss. and he’s super worried about him after the break up.

pace and cece didn’t give each other valentine’s gifts, but pace wished everyone he came across a happy valentine’s day. he filmed a lot of people getting their gifts and even caught a proposal on camera so he’s had a good day living through other people’s happiness.

angelica gave everyone all the kisses including lizzie, bea, jess, seth, katie, carter, cassie, conrad, melody and nearly elsie. basically if you think there’s a chance that angelica would have reason to kiss your oc then she definitely did.

dean spent the day watching finding nemo with mellie and baby hadley :)

joe hooked up with someone he can’t remember the name of. very romantic.

sybil went ghost hunting as usual, possibly with byron and if anyone tried to suggest something about that she’d threaten to curse them.

ella had class but brought hazel cupcakes home for her to decorate. she probably uploaded the footage to her youtube channel.

aaron is spending the day with his girlfriend but let it be known that he text astrid saying, ‘happy valentine’s day, maine x’

harvey was working but as you can see, he’s talking to kenny which means he’s very happy about that.

nathaniel spent the day with will and jane and kissed them both and basically just tried to keep will’s spirits up.

will isn’t doing good right now and he misses alex a lot and he feels edgy and anxious but he spent time with nathaniel and jane anyway bc he knew it would make nate happy.

dixie was working but when she saw séamus in the lobby, she definitely wished him a happy valentine’s day and then spent the rest of her shift blushing about it. also her momma made a sculpture in her pottery class and ‘in the spirit’ of valentine’s, she gave it to mr croft. innocently, of course, but dixie knows better and wasted no time in telling cassie and david.

cecily spent her day playing with apollo and smiling and giggling at wardo and louis. she let wardo dance with her and she hugged ivy and after some encouragement from her brother, she got brave enough to kiss louis on the cheek and wish him a happy valentine’s day before all the excitement got a bit too much for her and she scurried off to the museum. but then she saw david and got all frazzled again :’)

levi IS GOING ON A SORT-OF DATE WITH AMELIA AND THAT’S THAT ON THAT.

dustin is making fun of all his students’ valentines. because he’s a dick.

diego probably isn’t doing a lot bc when is he ever but i like to think he enlisted caroline’s help to draw a picture of a butterfly so he could give it to cedric.

chase is getting high af and hooking up with whoever wants him. mess.

max is having the time of her fricking life and sent valentine’s to practically all of messina. she’s wearing heart themed everything today and her muse is through the roof so she’s probably planned like six new novels and she’s LIVING. and she’s asking after everyone else’s valentines and how they’re going and fangirling over all the cute things.

holly walked into a novel idea. glared at katie. left.

benji probably got another kiss of david because i say so that’s why.

jutta has no valentine but she plans to find one when she goes out clubbing tonight so really she’ll be fine.

taylor sent valentine’s to both darren and ronnie from BOTH her and james because she knew james wanted to but wasn’t brave enough, and it also helped her feel less guilty about everything that’s happened between her and the boys lately.

bennett got piss drunk then found some randomer to sleep with so he can forget about calvin and hero.

kit is in a surprisingly good mood today. simon gave her chocolates which she didn’t eat, but gave them to cody instead. then she baked cakes for daisy, simon, lo and beau. she was probably super shy about giving lo one but again, she’s in a good mood, she got over herself and did it.

simon woke up feeling sad but he still went into work and bravely wished billy a happy valentine’s day AS A FRIEND before saying the same to everyone else in a novel idea. then he went home and gave chocolate to kit and beau to be a gentleman.

evie demanded that jax be her valentine because she knew he hasn’t quite managed to work up the courage to ask ronan out and ronan remains oblivious.

oz gave out free candy to everyone and tried not to be sad when daisy told him she was going on a date with reuben so there’s that.

caroline heard that amelia and cassie were both otherwise preoccupied but decided that was okay because she woke up and tackled jason and gave him a big kiss on the cheek as well as a card that says ‘i love you to infinity and beyond’. she also bumped into gabe and pretended to not know it was valentine’s day pls just give me this.

mellie is probs very anti-valetine’s day right now. she’s avoiding che and probably pouted if indy did end up giving into justin and going out, so she watched finding nemo with dean instead.

ronan was working and being oblivious about jax and i hate him for it. he probably spent what free time he had attempting to find a date for his cousin, abel.

alfie baked all his friends a heart shaped pie and gave them all kisses even though he’s a little bi awkward around scotty rn because he’s not sure if he’s allowed to kiss his cheek anymore, but his spirits were up anyway!

emma was on set and i’m sure that drew did something charming so there’s that :’)

ellis arranged so many flower bouquets today and you can bet your goddamn ass she went to pick clara up at school and gave one to barry whether he liked it or not. she also graciously camped out in calvin’s room in order to give rory the space should he bring someone home :’) and because of that she probably bulled calvin into letting her braid his hair.

seth spent the day with all of his friend - not just katie. he gave all of his friend a valentine’s day hug - not just katie. he went out at night with all of his friends - not just katie. AND YES HE’S SURE HE STARED LONGINGLY AT /ALL/ OF HIS FRIENDS NOT JUST KATIE, THANKS VERY MUCH.

noah literally spent the whole of rehearsal belting every single iconic broadway love song at isaac just to get a reaction from him.

conrad was bullied by anya into wishing lizzie a happy valentine’s day. he’s going to be embarrassed about this for the next three months.

carter as we know was cassie’s valentine and the two of them shared alllll the candy and chocolate together. and then he met teddy and let a stranger hug him and that’s very important for him. also, he pined over jess. as per.

kevin WAS SNAKED BY CARTER FUCKING HEFFRON. he’s v displeased and pouted at katie for being the mastermind behind the whole thing.

piper probably took a selfie with hunter and sent it to brody saying that she was stealing his valentine.

robbie spent it with blair and was appalled when jimmy showed up to ask if he could take blair out because EXCUSE ME CATTLE MAN THAT’S MY VALENTINE AND I NEED TO MAKE ALL THE MEMORIES WITH HER. so my headcanon is that he obnoxiously tagged along.

beau got cakes from kit and chocolate from simon and bought lo a big tub of marshmallows :) she’s not really up for celebrating though after her break up.

bailey sent all of her sisters gifts and then went to the stables so she could assist couples going on valentine treks together. she briefly contemplated how lonely single life can be but swiftly got over it.

adam definitely gave mack a card and a teddy literally just to piss off roy because he’s awful.

sawyer was in the ER and probably walked in on bennett and someone on the on-call room and is scarred for life. she debated going to see lux but then realised caleb might be working and decided against it.

micah spent the day at home with jd. he feels bad about not really checking on greyson but he knows he doesn’t treat jd the way he should or spend that much time with him on a good day and he wants to make that up to him on the national day of romance.

foster was working and probably received an inappropriate valentine’s from one of his students that probably left him close to tears because NO THIS IS WRONG WHY CAN’T I JUST HAVE AN EASY LIFE. he probably debated shoving himself back in the janitor’s closet before ultimately deciding to hide away at lunch time and share his babybel with ryke.

jimmy decided to ask out blair for the day and then realised that meant robbie would be tagging along. he was only a little annoyed.

Cody’s Top 15 TV Shows of 2016

I'm trying to keep introductions short this year. I don't need to go on again about we're in a new golden age of television, there's too many shows, etc. There's a lot of good TV out there and nowhere near enough time to watch all of it. These are the shows from last year I felt were worth making time for.

15. Game of Thrones (HBO)

After a somewhat lackluster fifth season that struggled to adapt the slowest, most aimless books of it's source material, Game of Thrones was back in top form for it's sixth year by finally passing George R.R. Martin in his story. As a result, the show felt fresher and more exciting than it has in a long time. After years of build-up, we finally begin to see signs of the end game for the many characters of Westeros. The show delivers it's usual thrills, with deaths both heartbreaking and satisfying, breathtaking visuals, epic battles, and solid acting across the board. One of the elements that makes this past season stand out is the heavy focus on the female characters of the show. After seeing hours of abuse and terror heaped upon these women, we finally see deep, complex characters like Sansa, Arya, Cersei and Daenerys regain their power and take action. While Game of Thrones initially seemed to be a story portraying the realistic yet poisonous power of men in charge appears to be the story of brave, determined women rising up and overtaking their oppressors.

14. The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story (FX)

Between this and the fantastic documentary, O.J.: Made in America, O.J. Simpson was surprisingly everywhere in 2016, and with good reason; despite the progress we've made over the past few decades, there is still an undeniable race problem in America. Ryan Murphy's miniseries highlights how little has changed in the past 20 years in regards to how black people are treated by the police and the media. I envisioned the worst when I heard Murphy was telling this story, imagining all of his worst campy tendencies being indulged while portraying the media circus that was the O.J.trial. Instead, we got a gripping, in-depth look at the lives of everyone involved in the case and the struggles they faced, most effectively seen with a trio of outstanding performances by Sarah Paulson, Courtney B. Vance and Sterling K. Brown as the attorneys prosecuting and defending the Juice.

13. The Good Place (NBC)

The high concept sitcom has made a bit of a comeback in the past year, with shows like The Last Man On Earth and People of Earth taking ambitious, heavily serialized stories and reformatting them into a half-hour hangout comedy format. The Good Place is set in the afterlife and follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, in her best role since Veronica Mars), a fairly bad person in life mistakenly sent to the titular "good place" after her untimely death. With the help of her assigned soulmate, Chidi (William Jackson Harper, a true stand-out), she attempts to become a better person and earn her spot in The Good Place. That premise provides a decent amount of material to do a decent "good deed of the week" format. Instead, creator Michael Schur and his team of writers (many from Schur's Parks and Recreation) constantly keep the story moving with twists and revelations arising on a near weekly basis. The Good Place is the rare sitcom that came out of the gate strong, and is still running strong with a hilarious cast (including Ted Danson, still as charming as he was in his Cheers days), smart storytelling, and a lot of heart and mind.

12. Westworld (HBO)

There's not much more I can say about what is probably the most heavily discussed show of the year. Some complained about the heavy emphasis on mystery, with an abundance of teases about the true nature and motivations of the Hosts and employees that populate Westworld. While it's true the show occasionally got a bit lost in it's puzzle box narrative, it's hard to deny that Westworld is just flat-out entertaining with one of the best ensembles on television. Evan Rachel Wood and Thandie Newton give the show it's heart with performances that are alternately heartbreaking and chilling, often in the same scene. Jeffrey Wright provides a wonderful moral center for the story, giving the character of Bernard a quiet thoughtfulness that makes the occasional bit of necessary exposition compelling. Then there's Anthony freaking Hopkins, who even in his late 70s gives a masterclass in true acting and is riveting every second he's on screen. While the first season of ultimately feels like a bit of a prologue for what's to come, it's a damn good prologue; one that leaves me very excited to see what's next.

11. Fleabag (Amazon)

This British import pulls a bit of a bait and switch on viewers; it starts out as a raunchy comedy about a young woman struggling to get her life together, albeit a very funny one with a striking central performance by writer Phoebe Waller- Bridge. However, by the end of the first episode, and with each consecutive episode, Waller-Bridge reveals the dark, sad heart at the core of the series. Fleabag takes the convention of the rude, promiscuous 20-something that we see on so many cable comedies and really digs into the person underneath; what makes this person act the way they do and make the choices they make? Yet, the show never judges Waller-Bridge’s character, even if she judges herself. The show also boasts a solid supporting cast with brilliant character details. The central relationship between Waller-Bridge’s character and her sister is one of the better sibling relationships on TV, and no character goes wasted; a character present in one short scene at the beginning of the series ends up unexpectedly returning, and providing some of the most poignant, revealing moments in the story. There has been no word yet if Waller-Bridge will bring back Fleabag, but we can only benefit from hearing more of her unique voice.

10. Full Frontal With Samantha Bee (TBS)

2016 was a rough year. The nightmare circus that was the election, and it’s results, left a lot of people feeling drained, upset, and uncertain of where the country would be heading in the near future. Many comedy shows that deal in political satire seemed unsure of how to tackle the rise of Trump. Late night hosts such as Seth Meyers, John Oliver, and Trevor Noah went for an angle of frustrated disbelief, while Saturday Night Live was unsure what comedic approach to take after providing an unfortunate spotlight for the Donald the year before. Jimmy Fallon took the approach of goofing around with him and tousling his hair. Enter Samantha Bee. The former Daily Show correspondent could not have been given a better time to get her own show. Bee needed no time to settle into her host role, instead giving the sense of anger and outrage that many people felt about everything happening in the political sphere. She took on topics such as the Syrian refugees, gun control, abortion, and both the Republican and Democratic parties with blunt honesty and empathy. The laughs came from pointing out the hypocrisy and absurdness of the election, and from just needing a release of the extreme tension we were experiencing. Just beginning it’s second year, it looks like Full Frontal will be around for a while, and it’s a good thing; as the political landscape looks as if it is going to only get worse before it gets better, we need someone like Samantha Bee to help us through it more than ever.

9. Veep (HBO)

When creator Armando Iannucci left Veep after Season 4, there was concern that the show would lose the hilarious bite that came with Iannucci’s razor sharp dialogue. Thankfully, new showrunner David Mandel maintained the show’s quality in it’s fifth season, bringing what may be the show’s best year yet. Julia Louis-Dreyfus was as perfect as ever as Selina Meyer works to win over congress when her presidential election ends in a tie. As great as Louis-Dreyfus is, the whole ensemble really makes Veep work, with Timothy Simons’ Jonah and Sam Richardson’s Richard being highlights, and Sarah Sutherland getting a much welcome increase in screentime as Selina’s daughter films a documentary and gets in a new relationship. The season built wonderfully to a genuinely surprising conclusion that promises an entirely different show when it returns. In a time when real world politics seem like satire, Veep continues to provide a hilarious alternative.

8. Better Call Saul (AMC)

A Breaking Bad spin-off was always going to have a lot to live up to. Following one of the most popular shows of the past decade was tough enough, but making the focus of that spin-off a relatively minor supporting character used primarily for comedic relief? It seemed destined to be a mess, but the first season gave a surprising amount of depth to the man who would become Saul Goodman. In it’s second year, Better Call Saul truly finds it’s voice. Less reliant on the action and tension of it’s parent show, Saul instead plays as a slow motion tragedy, as we watch Jimmy (in a wonderfully layered performance by Bob Odenkirk) struggle to do the right thing, all while knowing he is doomed. Michael McKean continues to be as good as ever as Jimmy’s manipulative brother, and Rhea Seehorn gets a much appreciated larger role as Kim, the one person who could possibly pull Jimmy back from the brink of corruption. Those who enjoy the more thrilling, gritty style of Breaking Bad will enjoy the continued presence of Mike Ehrmantraut, who at times seems to be in his own, equally good series as he navigates the Albuquerque crime world and comes across some familiar characters. The journey of Jimmy McGill into Saul Goodman can only grow worse, but it will surely make the journey for those watching all the more captivating.

7. BoJack Horseman (Netflix)

The best comedy about depression starring a cartoon horse maintained it’s wonderful mix of hilarious absurdity and dark truth in it’s third season, as BoJack works the award circuit for his leading role in the Secretariat biopic. The show expands it’s experimental streak with an episode set entirely in 2007 (complete with reminders of the time), one with almost no dialogue, and a drug bender episode with chunks of the story missing. Will Arnett as BoJack rivals his work as Gob Bluth for the best performance of his career; he is able to play BoJack’s pain and sadness just as well as his arrogance. Additionally, Aaron Paul and Paul F. Tompkins show new depths to the primarily jokey characters of Todd and Mr. Peanutbutter. Despite all of the adult animated comedies out there, BoJack Horseman feels like something new and original. It uses it’s medium to do things a live-action show could not do, but still is able to find a deep, emotional truth.

6. Atlanta (FX)

One of the ideal goals of any story being told is to transport you and let you witness a life that you don’t encounter in your everyday life. This could mean going to space or entering a world of magic and fantasy. In some instances, however, it simply means learning more about people you see every day, who are still underrepresented by most modern media. In interviews for Atlanta, show creator/star Donald Glover said he wanted viewers to experience what it felt like to be black. Atlanta itself ends up being a captivating, surreal and empathetic show that is really unlike anything I’ve seen before. Glover plays Earn, a young man in Atlanta who’s essentially homeless; after learning that his cousin, Alfred (Brian Tyree Henry), has a rising rap career, he offers to become his manager in order to support himself and his daughter, as well as proving himself to his daughter’s mother, Van (Zazie Beetz). That set-up provides plenty of opportunities for a weekly grounded series. Instead, Glover makes Atlanta a show that exists in a slightly different world; where Justin Bieber is black and where an entire episode is a talk show from a fictional black entertainment network, complete with fake commercials. Despite the bizarre touches Glover adds, Atlanta is also achingly realistic; Earn’s constant struggle to make money and provide for his family, and all the detours in that journey, from dealing with Alfred’s public reputation to sudden bursts of gun violence, provide a melancholy touch along with several hilarious setpieces. That mix of the sad, strange, and comical is what makes Atlanta so unique and what makes Glover’s voice so essential.

5. Halt and Catch Fire (AMC)

In it's first season, Halt and Catch Fire was fine, if flawed; a look at the '80s computer industry that occasionally leaned too heavily on the moody antihero trope that had grown so tired. It held just enough interest with it's strong performances and a promising narrative shift towards the end of the season. In Season 2, the show took a huge leap forward as it shifted the central focus to it's female characters, Cameron (Mackenzie Davis) and Donna (Kerry Bishe), while revealing the weak, sad nature if it's male protagonists, Joe (Lee Pace) and Gordon (Scoot McNairy). In it's third year, the quality of Halt and Catch Fire continued to skyrocket, turning itself from a very enjoyable series to one of the best dramas on television. A location change to Silicon Valley give things a renewed sense of energy. All four leads are given roughly equal screentime, but have evolved so much that all of their stories are equally captivating. Joe MacMillan is still devious and cunning, yet Pace reveals more of the wounded, insecure man underneath. As Gordon struggles with both his brain damage and his career aimlessness, McNairy beautifully plays the pain and frustration Gordon is feeling. Davis is as terrific as ever as Cameron stubbornly tries to keep control of her company, and Bishe continues to show new layers to Donna as her opportunities rise and increase. As the season progresses, the characters have to make some tough decisions, and with the writing and performances have grown so strong, it leads to some truly stunning and heartbreaking dramatic sequences that occasionally rise to the level of Mad Men. AMC was kind and smart enough to give Halt and Catch Fire time to find it's identity. The ratings remained low, but they stuck with it, including an opportunity to finish out it's story with a final season this year. When the show started, I didn't think I would care so much to see where these characters end up. After a stellar third year, I'm not quite ready for them to leave yet.

4. The Americans (FX)

There's not much more I can say about The Americans in it's fourth season than I did in it's first, second, or third season. The spy family drama gets better and better each year, both in content and as a payoff to everything that came before. Stories that have been building up since the very beginning of the series continue to pay off, showing how expertly The Americans plays the long game. That long game is reflected by it's performances. Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys give Elizabeth and Philip a consistent tired, beaten down in their performances. All of the horrible decisions and actions they have chosen to take over the years are starting to show, turning the excitement and vigor of their early adventures into a struggle just to make it through the day. That weariness extends to the people surrounding them, with Holly Taylor's Paige and Alison Wright's Martha getting significantly increased roles. Paige's story in particular makes quite an impact. On most prestige dramas, from The Sopranos to Breaking Bad to Homeland, the teenage character is usually seen as an annoying distraction from the main action. With The Americans, that character not only becomes essential to the main narrative, but manages to be sympathetic and just as captivating as the main characters we've been following for the series. While The Americans has never been talked about as much as some cable dramas, it's easily on the same level. With each season, the Jennings family grows more and more fascinating as their lives and relationships grow more and more fractured.

3. Horace and Pete (LouisCK.net)

Louis C.K. is a comedian and storyteller who is a master of the unexpected. His brilliant stand-up features constant reversals and punchlines that sneak up on you with brutality. When given his own HBO series, C.K. went against expectations and made a Norman Lear inspired sitcom filmed in front of a studio audience. His second series, Louie, challenged the idea of what a half hour comedy could be, featuring a highly cinematic style, stories that spanned several episodes, and episodes that were primarily dramatic at times. His latest series, Horace and Pete, took everyone by surprise, in many different ways. It arrived completely unannounced; one Saturday morning, those subscribed to C.K.'s mailing list received an email with a link to the first episode on his website. Viewers were treated to what amounted to a 67 minute filmed play (complete with intermission) with a dark, dramatic tone and an impressive cast, including Steve Buscemi, Edie Falco, Jessica Lange, and Alan Alda. As the weeks went by, a new episode would be released, ranging from 30 minutes to a little under an hour, and could be almost anything. Some episodes dealt with current political issues and featured references to news events from recent weeks. One was one long conversation between C.K.'s Horace and a previously unseen character played by Laurie Metcalf, opening with a nine minute monologue solely framed on Metcalf. Horace and Pete features some of the best writing of C.K.'s career, reaching depths of extreme sorrow while still remaining his dark, vulgar wit. It helps that he has such a solid cast performing his words; Alda shows a side of himself that has almost never been seen, and Buscemi plays Pete as wounded live wire, constantly captivating you with his every moment on screen. One of the most impressive things about Horace and Pete is that it's a complete story. The 10th episode provides a definitive ending. It's hard to think of many artists who would create a show in secret, release it without it any notice, and then end it, and move on, but that kind of creativity is what makes Louis C.K. one of a kind.

2. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (The CW)

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend seems like a tough sell; a musical comedy with a potentially alienating title and a penchant for awkward moments. As the theme song notes, however, "The situation is a lot more nuanced than that." Co-Creator and star Rachel Bloom (along with co-creator Aline Brosh McKenna) is well aware of the troubling tropes of romantic comedies, and uses her show to deconstruct the elements of these types of stories while still embracing their more engaging elements. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has honestly been an eye-opening experience for me. There are so many tropes and narrative choices in romantic stories, be it a major plot point or even just a throwaway joke, that have become so commonplace, we often overlook the implications of what it's implying. The writers call out these moments head-on, with Bloom's Rebecca sometimes halting a scene to question an offhand comment. It's honestly made me look at certain types of storytelling in a completely new light. Aside from the more thoughtful aspects, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is also flat-out hilarious and entertaining. The comedy is so sharp, with quality jokes coming at a rapid pace. The songs (written by Bloom, Adam Schlesinger, and Jack Dolgen) are terrific, playing as clever satires of popular music both old and new, while still holding up as smart, catchy original songs. The show has also developed a great stable of supporting characters, running jokes, and callbacks, making the show's setting of West Covina feel like a fully realized place. Nearing the end of it's second season, Bloom & McKenna have pulled no punches, unafraid to completely change the narrative and dynamics of the show at a moment's notice. It's this bold inventiveness that makes Crazy Ex-Girlfriend truly special, and, yes, nuanced.

1. Stranger Things (Netflix)

This is a really predictable choice for my #1 show if you know me well. It pretty much hits all of my genre interests. A coming-of-age/sci-fi/horror show set in the early '80s that feels like Stephen King by way of early Steven Spielberg with a bit of John Carpenter and Freaks and Geeks mixed in. It would be very hard for me not to love Stranger Things at least a little bit. My anticipation was through the roof before it debuted, and thankfully, it did not disappoint. I understand the complaints of some. Yes, at times, it leans a bit heavily on it's influences, but to those who say people's enjoyment of the show comes solely out of a warm sense of nostalgia, I have to disagree. Yes, it's kind of cool to be reminded of the movies that The Duffer Brothers pay homage to, but Stranger Things really succeeds with it's characters, particularly it's young leading cast. Visual references can only go so far (and did for some), but the story would hold no weight if not for the talent and charisma of Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, and especially Millie Bobby Brown. The kids have an instant rapport, and as the season progresses, you really grow to care for them; you want them to be happy and grow tense when they are in danger of getting hurt, both physically and emotionally. The adult cast holds their own as well; Winona Ryder does some of her best work in years as the emotionally distraught Joyce Byers, and David Harbour embodies the gruff, heroic leading man perfectly. Yet the smaller episode order doesn't restrict the growth of the characters. Even supporting characters like antagonistic Steve (Joe Keery) get a full arc, and minor characters like concerned friend Barb (Shannon Purser) and teacher Scott Clarke (Randall P. Havens) make an impact. The Netflix format suits the show very well, neatly structured and moving along at an exciting pace, yet not overstaying it's welcome at 8 episodes. By the end of the first season, the stories have closure while still leaving much more to be told in the future. I realize Stranger Things isn't the most revolutionary show out there. It doesn't tackle serious issues and embraces it's genre themes and influences wholeheartedly. However, there was no other show in 2016 that I had a better time watching; each episode felt like an event, and left me theorizing and anxious to find out what would happen next. Sometimes that's all you need with a story, and Stranger Things delivers.

Can I stay?

I am counting the weeks. And it is horrible. I fell in love with this place and these people and I don’t wanna leave. The date on my visa comes closer and closer and yes, I am well aware that I legally have to leave by the 4th of June. But also there is this nagging voice screaming, shouting at me that I should just stay. Not forever, but for a couple more weeks. It makes me realise how much time you waste. And you never waste it. Not really, anyway. Forming friendships and settling in takes time and bravery on both sides. It takes weeks and months for people to warm up to each other and become friends. And it always amazes me how quickly people can become friends – after four months since Seth started talking to me in Lab, they have become such good friends that I even got invited to his wedding! TO A WEDDING! When he invited me – I couldn’t believe my luck. Although the nagging thoughts stay behind in my brain, screaming at me “what if”. What if in one or two weeks, we lost contact. What if in one or two months our snapchats and random texts end. What if after one or two years I am merely a random person popping up facebook feeds and wedding pictures. And I also know its as much my responsibility to stay in touch, as it is theirs. I guess what this rambling is supposed to say is that I hate it. I love the travelling, I love getting to know people. But this also always means leaving parts of your part behind, that you wanna hold onto forever.

Enough of sad ramblings. Let’s catch up with what has been going on over the last few weeks. (I know, I know. I am being horrible. Don’t tell me) I found really good friends. Rayleigh, Hope, Russell, making me enjoy physiology lab so much more. I just got recently got added to their group chat via phone and they are hilarious! Every Tuesday I am grabbing a coffee between lab and history class with Hope. Every lecture we have this group chat going on talking about how Dr Clifford looks like he just got electrocuted. And how is absolute favourite word is poo. The last time before the exam we spent hours in the library just freaking out over the sheer amount of chapters we had to study. That was so much fun. But the people I got closest too – friends I wanna keep for life: Chris. Seth. Megan. Whitley. They make every day here so, so much better. I have been able to work on my line-dancing and country music recognition in Max’s Garage Bar four times so far Max’s is weird anyway. It has a bar, some standing-tables and a fenced of area where you are supposed to dance. And that area is not only fenced of but it is also covered in flour-like dust that apparently makes it able to slide across the floor better. Or fall on one’s arse. Whatever your skill and you prefer. There are also only two accepted styles of dancing – line- dance, which I absolutely love! and two-stepping, which you dance with a partner and is kind of like forward, forward, back and forward, forward, back. I can’t do it. I don’t like being lead and somehow these moves just don’t come naturally to me anyway. But fair enough. Chris and me tried – and somehow that feels weird. I love that he tried. But nah. I feel like partner-style dancing is something that you either need to be really good at or … I loved that I got to see him dance though. That was my plan all along, and I won’t even need to fill him up at Seth’s wedding anymore. The dancing here is scary anyway, the way all the people know exactly what dance goes onto what beat – this hive-mindedness scares me. Usually, me and Megan stay at her friend Bristen’s house, who lives in Muskogee. I love how in the beginning here, I felt so strange and not wanted and by now that has become such a fixture. I got included into the girl-talk, I was part of the girl-talk and I even borrowed clothes. But don’t tell her, she doesn’t know. Big shout out to Megan, by the way, who keeps driving e back and forth. Last time I actually wanted to hide petrol money in her car, but couldn’t decide where.

I also went glow building one Saturday, with Megan, Chris and Megan’s brother Cody and friend. (Cody is a very good dancer by the way. And huge. Like tall. Like seriously, where even does his head end and how does he fit into the car, tall. More about that another time).

Anyway, glow-bowling, because bowling (as much as it belongs into my past) is still very much part of an adolescents life in Oklahoma. I never glow – because my nice clothes are all black, but nevertheless. I am not horrible in it. I do use the children’s balls (even though the sign says to only use them when you are 12 or under but sue me. I cannot lift the other balls. I can hardly lift anything (you should see me trying to do one single push up). If I cant even lift my own body weight - how come they think I can move more than 8 kg. But still, I held myself strong and my head high (read: was not a total embarrassment) which me coming second and third of four. That is all right. I mean, I wouldn’t go and announce it to the world but nevertheless. Could have been worse. Kudos to Chris though you put us into a feeling of safety (as he was horrible and lost the first round but single-handily won the second one). Cannot believe I fell for that. After all, he lived here for an almost-decade. I also finally had the chance of being at a house-party (!!!) which featured 4 corgis, two drunk guys, way too many shots and my personal favourite: the typical red plastic cups. In case you don’t know what I am talking about – watch a college film: they are always shown. Seth and his fiancé were house sitting in the middle of nowhere and were apparently allowed to through a little soirée as Seth put it. But not let Seth Chapuis fool you with his ‘french’ and fancy words. It was a house party. With weird music because they had forget the speakers and we had to listen to Christmas music and Shakira CDs. I had so much fun. We weren’t many people, at some point we were 13 but only a couple actually stayed to the end. It is a weird experience, Seth and his fiancé are my age and their friends are all somehow married already (and a little older). Somehow that was a weird glimpse into early-married life. Because although I have friends that are in relationships, the inner cynic in me stops a little in shock when people get introduced as ‘the wife of’ or ‘the husband of’. And then these people are in their twenties, so they drink a lot and get drunk and have fun and talk about sex, all while being married. And I know that is normal, but when the only married people you truly know are of the generation of you parents that just stops you in your tracks. Anyway, we spent hours playing ‘kings’ with Ashley, Candace and Alexis and eventually also the guys like Chris and Seth. Kings is just like Ring of Fire. Minus the drinking. At least for me. But what else is new. Seth got really drunk though. Like really, really drunk. Half of us playing with him was spent by him trying to set me and Chris up. He got up, pointed to the bedroom I would occupy at night and told me I should share it with Chris. Like – geez Seth. Thanks for being subtle. Remind me never to hire you as a PI or wing-man. It was a really nice party though – Ashley and Seth got really drunk, everyone else left so early and so just me, Chris, Seth and Alexis and the dogs were left. I can’t believe how much our friendship has changed since then. I remember sitting in front of Chris and Seth and not really knowing how much friendship was between us. The same thing now would feel much less awkward I bet. Seth drove me to the airport the next morning. He swore that he wasn’t feeling that hangover – and I did talk the entire ride to the airport. And for those who know me, you also know, my voice is not a hangover-friendly voice. Plus he filled me in on the night he has had – where he thought the closet was the toilet and how he actually got sick like four times. Well at least he clearly found his limit. And then I was off flying to LA for spring break – and guess who was gonna get me at the airport in LAX? … Hanna! Another note on flying in the US, before I shall stop this entry and think about the next one talking about California - I love how I can fly domestically here by just using my drivers license. No visa, no DS form needed. Just my effing driving license. Even me! Even a German! Makes me feel so American.
