I'm on a break from reading and writing (aside from my boyd-a-thon event! Keep'em coming) but don't want that to keep me from sharing fics you may like. I used to tag anything I hadn't read "tbr" , but I don't want to give false expectations. I'm a slow reader and picky - easily deterred by length, amount of plot, tags that aren't rly my thing (ex: structured explicitly negotiated kinks with rules), or things on the heavier / more serious side. I don't read many pedro fics these days unless something specific hooks me, like a kink. (ex: object insertion, dvp). Also, I appreciate the sentiment when people think of me when they see dark fics, but I hope people don't feel slighted by me not reading every dark thing. I enjoy writing dark and I like many dark fics, but i'm often more into super horny or "shouldn't be doing this" stuff. There are some things I enjoy writing but not always reading, for example I'm often more comfortable being in control of angst and fluff. Btw I also don't see everything. You're welcome to tag me in whatever - gifs, edits, fics, etc, or just to say hi 🖤. I love that (although it doesn't always get to me due to Tumblr bugs). but plz don't count on me stumbling across something. I follow a shit ton of accts in various fandoms and have unfollowed Pedro tags for my peace. It isn't fun seeing the dash taken over by discourse for like a week at a time. And it's disappointing how many people will not only believe but repeat anything they hear.
You're welcome for the detailed update on my sexual appetite and miscellaneous anxiety. Love you 🖤
p.s. none of this should make you question your boyd-a-thon plans, I promise will gobble up whatever you write and love it.

Blog FAQs - see below if you can't access link
✨⚠️ Q: Am I blocked? Why can't I see your main blog from my account? What is going on?
A: The most common reasons I block are for policing or judging what others write, kink shaming, or spreading harmful rumors. ⚠️
Rarely, there could be a blocking error.

Read-a-thon Wednesday!!!
I think a lot of people do this, BUT IM GOING TO BE ONE OF THEM.
Every Wednesday or so, I’m going to read non-stop.
But I am sadly still in school so technically not non-stop. BUT YOU GET IT-
Basically, I’m going to choose out 3 books I haven’t read from my TBR, the book I’m currently reading, a random graphic novel, and a manga! I’ll attempt to read them all in one day.
If I decide I have more extra time, I’ll choose fourth book to read as well.
(Also, i have a stack of books i have bought in a tower. I pick out 3 random post notes. If you guys want, i can make videos about it)
Im a fast reader, so I can do this. Right? 😨 RIGHT????
So if you want, you can join me every read-a-thon Wednesday, and do it with me or come along for the ride. WHATEVER YOU WANT.
I just thought would be entertaining.
I also really wanted to post this on TikTok, but I don’t think people would like it as much 😨
THANKS FOR READING, I LOVE YOU

Announcing #ReadsOfAwe, a Jewish Read-a-Thon! Let's read some Jewish books!
FAQ
When is it? Sunset 9/25 to sunset 10/5, from the beginning of Rosh HaShanah to the end of Yom Kippur, also called the Days of Awe (hence the name)
Who can participate? Anyone! Jews, non-Jews, big readers, one-book-a-year types, and anyone in between.
How do I participate? There's a ton of ways!
Read Jewish books! You don't even have to tell anyone about it :)
Follow the prompts on the bingo card, and post how many squares you fill
Share your TBR, reviews, and book photos here, on Insta, and/or on Twitter with the hashtag #readsofawe
And uhhhh maybe I'll do reading sprints or something, we'll see how busy my week is
What is a "Jewish book"? Now that's a question! For our purposes, we'll define it pretty broadly: anything with a Jewish author, themes, and/or characters. Feel free to engage in heated debate in the notes about what counts!
Shanah tova, and happy reading!

General Reading Thoughts:
It's been a manga-a-thon and I'm having a blast! I am trying to pick out a non comic fantasy read but my brain is just playing the jeopardy song on repeat *shrugs* Maybe it's time to poke at my historical fiction tbr? Or scifi? We'll see how it goes.
Happy Reading!!!

2024 reading journal (part 2)
As promised, the yearly pages for my reading journal. I've put in some details about them under the cut!
My goals page - I'm aiming to read 40 books this year. I got to 37 in 2023 so 40 feels doable but still a bit of a challenge. I've got four other things to aim for during the year too and space for a fifth if I think of anything else.
Then there's my Read Christie challenge page and a bingo board created from prompts in my TBR Jar.
The next page is for the buzzword-a-thon. The challenge was only barely on my radar last year so I didn't even consider doing it. But this year I saw the announcement video and decided I might as well make a page for it even if I don't fully focus on it lmao. And beside it is the first of my pages where I can write everything I read during the year.
Then is my annual Book of the Year spread.
And finally my statistics which I've done a bit differently this year. I've spaced the graphs out a bit more because the last two years I've sort of run out of space on them. And then, beside my regular year at a glance page, I've added a monthly wrap up page to make note of how many books i read vs buy.

✧ bookblr intro ✧
Hello everyone! I’m Mirella, a brazilian graphic designer who loves to read!
I’ve decided to create this blog to talk about my readings through the year… i felt I was missing something last year, so i hope that joining the bookblr community would help me fill that whole in my chest.
Help me find more bookblrs by liking/rebloging this post! :)
🚨Attention!🚨 This is a SIDE BLOG! My main blog is @herslowness, so don’t be surprised if I follow you with that username, ok?
About me:
As i said, I’m from Brazil and a graphic designer, currently working on retail industry. I’m 27 year old and i’ve always liked to read, but it was in 2015 that i’ve began to discover more communities about books and reading (like booktube) and since them i’ve fallen more and more in love with books, even though i was a more of an avid manga reader in high school.
My pronouns are she/her and if you think that Mirella is to formal, you can call me Mi or Mimi.
You can find me on Goodreads, Storygraph and Skoob (brazilian platform)
About my readings:
I mostly read in Portuguese, but i often read stuff in English. Sometimes i read in French, to practice it. I wish to be able to read in Italian in the future, since i’m learning the language right now!
I really like fantasy books, time travel books, fairytales retellings and young adults. but i’m open to explore and i’m always trying a new genre or book to get out of my comfort zone. because of that, lately i found out, i like classics and gothic literature and i’m starting my journey with terror by reading Stephen King’s book (i’ve read IT and I loved it!)
I have a personal ongoing project that i like to call “reading through the zodiac”, where i’ve started reading the epic book recommendations based on your astrological sign. I just started, though… I’m still in the Aries books.
This year i’m joining 2 buddy reads: one is more focused in classics (and we are currently reading War and Peace) and another one is for Cassandra Clare’s books (we are reading them since last year, in order of publication. This month i’m going to read Clockwork Angel).
I actually like reading in buddy reads, because knowing and seeing other people reading the same book as me, at the same time, gives me motivation. Plus the discussion makes me understands better the books, since one person can have a different point of view from mine!
I also LOVE joining read-a-thons, but i can’t do one after another! I must take some time after joining one, so i can heal. If i don’t respect myself I will for sure enter a reading slump phase, so… i just try to listen to my body as best as i can and read with the pace i feel like in the moment.
My reading goals:
This year my goal is to read 45 books.
I plan to finish some books series, but I don’t know which one at the moment. the only rule i set to myself, starting this year, is that if I start a new book series, i have to read it till the end or till the last book released by the author.
I also want to read all my 150+ ebooks i got for free during march 2020, because of the pandemic. but I know it will be quite impossible for me to read that much in a year, so i’m just hoping i will read the most i can from it.
I also have a physical pile of TBR in my room with almost 50+ books that i want to read, but again, it’s too unrealistic that I will read all of them this year, so i’m just going to be more flexible with it again and read the most i can from it.
Plus: i also wanna try and see if i can read everyday. for that i won’t count pages or percentage, since my goal for this is to read as much as i want… even if it’s a little bit.

GENREHOLIC {TBR GAME} RULES: there are 2 stacks of cards, one stack is a deck numbered 1-16 the other is 16 genres of my choosing, because i am a very heavy mood reader i will give myself 3 chances to pick 3 different genres, thus knocking off priority releases, and my desired rereads and anything else i need to get done. now because this idea came to me so late i am choosing to use my current series as a carry over series for the moment, so the size of my list may vary and i might end up reading 3-4 books. Carry-over reads will be my punishment for not being on top of my set list.
genres for april: poc, coming of age, sports
currently reading: the hate u give, the deal, you again, emily wilde

to finish: you, again (carry over)

What is your summer 2023 "LIT"uation looking like?? 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 We are excited to hear about your summer reading plans!!!
Oh, and what did you think of Escaping Exodus? We loved it!!
Reposted @locd_and_lit Oooh weeeee!! My summer reading situation is looking so lit! Here's my recent book haul from the amazing @sistahscifi
📚An Unkindness of Ghosts & Sorrowland by Rivers Solomon @rivers.solomon - So I just finished reading The Deep and I am still processing the wajinru and their parallels to all of us in the Diaspora. It was my first Rivers Solomon read and they instantly became an auto-buy. It also inspired me to start my own personal read-a-thon to read the rest of their work this summer. I plan to start with Unkindness first. Drop some Rivers Solomon love in the comments below if you've read and appreciate any of their work. I am so ready to keep going. @akashicbooks
📚Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko @jordanifueko - So bookstagram made me me do it but I’m really excited about this one. Black girl magic is hardly ever an L. The gold outline on the cover is also 👌🏾. It just hit my eye as I was taking it out the box and it helped up the excitement factor.
📚Escaping Exodus by Nicky Drayden @nickydrayden - So my cart was already over budget (went there solely for the Rivers Solomon 🤦🏾‍♀️) but I was scrolling through all the tabs anyway when this synopsis caught my eye. And once again I’m a sucker for a good cover 🤷🏾‍♀️. Hoping this one doesn't disappoint. Let me know your thoughts if you've read it already. @harpervoyagerus
What are some of your recent book buys? How's the summer TBR looking?
#sistahscifi #summerreading #raybearer #jordanifueko #sorrowland #anunkindnessofghosts #riverssolomon #escapingexodus #nickydrayden #locdandlit #blackgirlmagic #afrofuturism #blackscifi #bipocbookstagram #tbr

Dewey's Reverse Readathon 2022
Opening Survey!
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
Pueblo, Colorado, USA
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear, by Walter Moers
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
I'll be putting a dent in my ice cream collection. It's really hot here right now.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I rescue kittens (my current rescue kitty is a 9-10wk old named Nadia) and crochet a lot.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
I am NOT starting with an audiobook this time. I did check out the audiobook of one of my TBR books so I can crochet later, but I read print sooooo much faster and maybe I will finish more books if I rely less on audio.

Quest-a-thon 2022 Update 1
It has been officially two weeks since the start of Quest-a-thon. As of yesterday, I have read six books and completed two crisis challenges. I believe I am at step 4 of the journey. I have the information, but it is in the trunk of my car. What I can tell you is that I do have two books left in both of my TBRs. The two books that are left are Anna Dressed in Blood and The Wild Robot Escape, and…
