... Are Tattoos going to be the the new Leitners?
Between "Marked" and "Anti-Social" implying that Ink5oul had been "stealing" tattoos from dead bodies and I might be stretching this, but I think that's where they get their "secret" inspiration from.
[Got sidetracked, found podcast]
Notes From:Podcast: Beneneath The Skin UNLOCKED: Sutherland MacDonald: The Man Who (Allegedly) Tattoed The King
What does, the first tattooist in London, to tattoo in colors other that black or red, have to do with it?
First to patten a tattoo gun.
What colors have they used so far, cuz Sutherland never succeeded at a yellow.
He had to cut pieces of himself off due to testing the yellows on himself.
He played music at his studio!?
He claimed they where painless, but used cocaine in his ink/needle.
Started with Sailor Designes!
He sold subscriptions to getting tattoos!
He tattooed the snake! On a George Edwards, some posh dude, don't know nothing about him, must research, maybe it's nothing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His stuff fell out of fashion
No apprentices we know of.
Still did (claimed) to have tattooed some high profile folk.
His style of tattooing did not leave a legacy.
And his style did not survive (die by the 1920s)
Real bragger, claimed he tattooed a lot of famous people, and claimed he used live snakes to pose on models for his snake tattoos (they where actually very impressive)
1st self promoting tattoo artist, would have been great on TikTok, he was media savvy for his time!
Big bullshitter.
A Tom Riley was his biggest competitor, once also claimed to have tattooed the royal family. This upset him. He had a bit of a dick measuring contests in advertisements at the time by adding more colors to the ads.
Did not adapt his style
Retired before the second WW
His studio was bombed, very little of his survived.
Died at 82

A Tempting Scent
[Jeongyeon x F Reader]
CW: GP
Tumblr media
Off set, you and Jeongyeon were changing into outfits picked out for the advertisement you were about to shoot for the latest Tom Ford cologne. Even though it was cologne, not a perfume, the two of you had been chosen to be the official brand ambassadors since you were TWICE’s ‘girl crush’ members, and both companies wanted to surprise viewers with girl group idols as the face for the product when it launched.
You looked at yourself in the mirror, dressed in an expensive Tom Ford suit in your representative color. The custom velvet maroon suit fit your body perfectly. You appreciated that Ford didn’t put you in suits that were meant to look more ‘fashionable’ for women, they were a classic fit. Your hair was dark and shiny as ever, and today they’d styled it in loose waves.
Jeongyeon, still getting into her deep green suit, couldn’t help but steal glances at you in the mirror. You looked good. Distractingly good.
A staff member was trying to adjust Jeongyeon’s tie, but was clearly a bit out of her element and fumbled with the expensive material in her hands. She apologized but Jeongyeon smiled reassuringly at her.
You paused from taking selfies in the mirror.
“I can do it,” you offered, and the two of them looked over at you.
“Oh thank god,” the staff member said and released the tie from her fingers immediately. “It’s all yours.”
She stepped out for a moment to check in with the rest of the crew on set while you took Jeongyeon’s tie in your hands.
“You look good,” Jeonyeon said as soon as the two of you were alone, her eyes moving over you slowly.
You grinned, playfully tossing your hair over one shoulder.
“Thank you,” you said, re-tying Jeongyeon’s tie with ease, “So do you.”
Your faces were close, a simple act suddenly becoming more intimate than you’d expected. You bit your lip. Keeping your eyes down, you tried not to look at Jeongyeon’s mouth while you worked.
“Where did you learn to tie a tie?” she asked, her voice a little softer.
Before you could answer, the staff member knocked on the door and shortly stepped back into your room.
“They’re running like 20 minutes behind, but someone will come grab you when they’re ready,” she said. “How’s the tie situation? I can get someone to help if you need.”
You turned away from Jeongyeon to show off your work.
“No need!” you said proudly, running your hand over the tie lightly.
The staff member smiled.
“Amazing. Okay, sit tight for now, sorry for the delay,” she said, giving a small bow before leaving, closing the door behind her.
The two of you looked at each other. Seeing Jeongyeon in more masculine clothing was always a treat for you. She was more confident, and it was attractive to you knowing she felt as good as she looked. Unfortunately for you, Jeongyeon knew you thought all of this, and she smirked.
You cleared your throat and blushed, turning away from her gaze to look in the mirror once more, pretending to fix your hair.
She came up behind you, placing her hands on the makeup counter in front of you, effectively trapping you in place. She leaned in gently, resting her chin on your shoulder.
“What do you think?” she asked suggestively, catching your eye in the mirror.
You reached for your phone.
“I think,” you said, tapping the camera icon to start taking photos of the two of you, “that ONCE would love to see you looking this handsome.”
Jeongyeon smiled at that, moving one hand to your waist. She moved in closer and stuck her lips out as if trying to kiss you while you continued to photograph. You giggled, turning away from her lips, enjoying the skinship you’d post online later. Your sudden movement made your scent hit Jeongyeon, and damn, the cologne you were about to be promoting really did smell good. She closed her eyes for a moment to breathe you in and her lips parted. You chuckled, reaching behind you to cup her chin in your hand.
“You good?” you asked playfully, backing up against Jeongyeon.
Jeongyeon hummed lightly in response, keeping you pressed against her. You caught her eye in the mirror, raising an eyebrow at her. You then turned around to face her, setting your phone back down.
You ran your hands over her suit, looking up at her curiously. That’s when you felt it, the strain in her pants.
“Apparently you’re feeling very good,” you murmured, answering your own question. You reached down to palm at her member, causing Jeongyeon to groan.
“Y/N,” she said, her voice low. “Do we have time?”
It had been ages since you and Jeongyeon had been alone like this, and now that the opportunity was here, you didn’t want it to go to waste. You took her hand and led her to the couch on the other side of the room.
“They’re running late, Jeongyeonnie, remember?”
At that, Jeongyeon grinned, hesitating for only a moment before getting comfortable on the couch, starting to undo her belt buckle while you situated yourself between her legs.
You kept eye contact with her while you sank down onto your knees in front of her. She quickly released her thick, hardening cock from her pants, making your mouth water.
She inched closer to you and you took her cock in your hand, slowly starting to jack her off. Precum began to leak almost instantly, making your movements slick and wet.
“May I…?” you asked softly, licking your lips.
Jeongyeon nodded eagerly, and you moved in, positioning yourself so your lips brushed over her cock head.
The older girl groaned in anticipation, making you smile. You debated teasing her, but since you were short on time, you decided against it. You licked her tip, wanting a taste before giving her what she really wanted and taking her into your mouth entirely. You dipped your chin low, opening your mouth wider as she gently slid into you.
Unable to weave her hands through your hair or hold your face for fear of ruining your hair and makeup, Jeongyeon threw one arm over her eyes while her other hand gripped the couch arm tightly.
You couldn’t help but moan into her while you sucked her off, the two of you soon lost in the wet sounds of her cock fucking into your mouth and throat. Normally Jeongyeon was more vocal, but she didn’t want to risk the two of you being caught by staff. Not that it wasn’t allowed, generally speaking, but here? It was a risk.
“Fuck, Y/N,” she rasped, trying to keep her hips still, “feels so good.”
Deep in a world of mutual lust, neither one of you noticed that Dahyun had texted you both, wanting to support the two of you in your new ad and letting you know that she’d be there soon to cheer you on.
Jeongyeon was actively stifling moans of her own now as she began to fuck faster into your mouth, eyes screwed shut while your head bobbed up and down on her length.
“Y/N,” she said gruffly, “you’re gonna make me cum-”
You released her cock from your mouth suddenly, eliciting a hiss from Jeongyeon, and paused for a moment to kiss the tip of her cock.
“In my mouth, please?” you asked, knowing the older girl wouldn’t be able to resist.
Jeongyeon threw her head back and half laughed, half moaned.
“You’re killing me,” she said softly. “But yes,” she added.
Dahyun, having gotten directions to your changing room, opened the door just in time to see Jeongyeon start to come in your mouth, her jaw slack with pleasure while you held her cock on the tip of your tongue, licking and swallowing everything she released for you. The way you looked up at Jeongyeon, eyelids heavy from the pleasure of servicing her, immediately sent a surge of desire through Dahyun.
She shut the door quickly, frozen for a moment before retracing her steps down the hall as if she had just arrived.
The two of you heard the soft sound of a door closing, but when you both looked up, the door to your changing room was still shut, giving you both a false sense of security that it must have been a different room. Besides, the staff always knocked first, right?
Jeongyeon held your gaze while you cleaned off her cock, swallowing the last of her cum and licking her clean before gently tucking her back into her boxers. She helped you to your feet but you were the one who ended up steadying her when she stood.
You chuckled lightly.
“Weak in the knees, huh?” you asked playfully, turning your attention back to your own appearance in the mirror for one last check.
She smacked your arm.
“Hey! And here I was about to compliment that mouth of yours,” she teased, smoothing out her suit.
There was a soft knock at the door, and the two of you turned to see Dahyun come in.
“Dahyunnie!” you exclaimed, rushing over to give the girl a hug.
Dahyun was dressed nicely with no athletic wear in sight, but looked like she’d sprinted at full speed the entire way there, her cheeks flushed a light pink under her pale skin. She lost her breath when you hugged her.
“Are you okay?” you asked, suddenly concerned as you let her go.
“Yeah Dahyun, what’d they do, make you run here?” Jeongyeon teased.
“Just excited to see you two,” she said breathlessly, giving a shy smile.
You made her take a few photos of the three of you before a staff member came to get you. Dahyun watched off to the side while the two of you worked.
She took a few photos and videos to post later, giving you both thumbs up and smiling when the two of you looked over every so often. You and Jeongyeon both had a natural alluring masculine energy in your suits that made the shoot incredibly successful.
Dahyun's mind, however, was wandering far. The videos and photos she captured were of the two of you, but her eyes were locked only on you.
She couldn’t get the image of you on your knees for the older girl out of your head. Of your head tilted up to look at Jeongyeon, of your eyes on hers with your mouth wide open, of your hands on her thighs.
She knew you took care of some of the girls’ needs on occasion, but she’d never seen it for herself. She’d never asked you for help either, let alone anyone. Most of the time, she was extremely shy about the dick between her own legs, taking care of her own needs in absolute privacy.
But seeing you like that was making Dahyun think thoughts she’d never imagined herself having. She wanted you, she realized. She felt her cock twitch beneath her dress and gasped. She remembered she wasn’t wearing compression shorts, her dress had been too form fitting.
Luckily you were just starting to wrap, and Dahyun said quick goodbyes to both of you before heading back to the dorms.

The way Tom and Ewan promote TG is cringe- sex jokes, gushing over Aegon and Aemond, "sexy", if not "slutty" outfits... The stans go batshit crazy and write essays on what would their do to those characters , if not the actors themselves. 🤢🤮 And publish their bs on sm.
Now, imagine what if Olivia and Phia promoted TG in the green boys' stead-the former wearing a really skimpy crop top and tiny shorts, barely covering her butt, and the latter-clad in a slinky dress with plunging neckline. Bet ppl would be outraged at objectifying the actresses and using their attractive bodies as freaking advertisment of the show. Also, sleazy men, commenting on their "assets" would be surely deemed incel creeps!
P.S. BTW in FnB, the "misunderstood sexy boi" Aemond is a psychopath and a rapist
Oh yes, I definitely like that comparison you used. I'm not insulting the actors, but the marketing campaign that someone decided to run in this strange way. I don't remember it being this way in the case of GoT, but the marketing there seemed to be… I don't know, a bit more balanced? It didn't rely on two things: queerbaiting and weird comments from two actors, forgetting about the rest of the cast.
And you have to remember that in the book that poor little Aemond punched a three-year-old in the face.

An online ad featuring an artificial intelligence-generated version of Scarlett Johansson without her permission appears to no longer be online following a request from the actor’s attorney.
Lisa AI: 90s Yearbook & Avatar allegedly used actual footage of Johansson from a campaign she did in conjunction with Omaze, a for-profit fundraising company that often partners with celebrities, and Marvel Studios, according to Variety.
NBC News has not viewed the advertisement. It appears to no longer be on X, where it originated.
“We do not take these things lightly,” Kevin Yorn, Johansson’s attorney, said in a statement. “Per our usual course of action in these circumstances, we will deal with it with all legal remedies that we will have.”
The advertisement first began to bubble up on X around Saturday. Text under the advertisement read, “Images produced by Lisa AI. It has nothing to do with this person,” according to Variety.
Lisa AI is one of a number of AI apps that have flooded the market in recent months. It lets users “create amazing artworks with AI,” including text suggestions that produce images, its website says. As of Wednesday night, the app appeared to be available on both Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store.
Representatives for Lisa AI did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Johansson is the latest celebrity to take issue with the alleged misuse of her likeness in AI, as deepfakes — a type of artificial media in which people’s faces are replaced with those of other people — and the technology behind them becomes more sophisticated.
Actors have also been sounding the alarm about AI images for some time. The digitally altered images have been a sticking point in the negotiations between the Hollywood studios and SAG-AFTRA, the actors’ union, which is on strike.
Last month, actor Tom Hanks posted on Instagram that he had “nothing to do with” a computer-generated image of him “promoting some dental plan.” Zelda Williams, the daughter of the late actor/comedian Robin Williams, called the AI recreations of him circulating on the internet “personally disturbing.” And YouTube star Jimmy Donaldson, who goes by Mr Beast, also shared with his millions of followers that a deepfake advertisement using his likeness was a scam. The advertisement he posted about was quickly removed from TikTok.

60 Years of Doctor Who Anniversary Marathon - T. Baker 1st Review
Disney Time - Behind the Scenes
Tumblr media
So for the Third Doctor we looked at trailers and promos for the show itself, well for the Fourth Doctor we’re looking at promotional material and advertisements for things that aren’t related to the show.
See Doctor Who is so popular that the series has been used to advertise various products, charities, PSAs, both for the UK and other countries, and even promote other IPs.
Which leads us to Disney Time.
Tumblr media
Disney Time was an annual special that ran in the UK from 1961 to 1998. And it was literally just one giant advert for Disney each and every year. It would show clips from it’s newly released or up coming movies, including recent re-releases and shorts, and promote it’s other tv shows.
Each year the segment was hosted by a celebrity who would provide linking segments and explain the context of the clips being shown. And in 1975 that celebrity was Doctor Who.
Not just Tom Baker, who played the Doctor, but the actual character of the Doctor, running around the theater proclaiming how great Disney is, how much he loves classic Disney characters like Donald Duck, and horribly mispronouncing Mowgli’s name.
The in universe explanation being that the Doctor is on vacation. Having just dropped off Harry and Sarah Jane back home at the end of Revenge of the Cybermen, he enjoys his holiday by going to the movies. At the end of his day off he gets a message from the Brigadier which is supposed to lead directly into Terror of the Zygons. So yeah, this is meant to be canon to the show.
youtube
The segment has never officially been released due to copyright, but mega fans with home recorders have kindly posted Tom Baker’s clips to youtube.
In order to watch the show as intended, I pulled up the missing clips off of Disney Plus and kept the Doctor Who linking clips up in another tab; switching between the two when needed.
To re-create the experience yourself, this is the line up.
To start everything off, you have
“The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” from Fantasia
The Doctor’s 1st clip
The Clock-cleaners (the short was edited down for the episode, but I don’t know where the cuts were made, so I just watched the entire short)
2nd Doctor clip
“Blackbeard drives a car and says fuck the police” from BlackBeard’s Ghost (the clip starts with Dean Jones and Blackbeard driving in the car and ends with Dean Jones getting handcuffed)
3rd Doctor Who clip
"Trust in Me" from The Jungle Book (clip starts with Kaa singing, and ends Kaa being pushed out of the tree by Mowgli. just end when the segment fades to black)
Back to the Doctor; 4th clip
“The hippopotamus segment” from The African Lion
5th  intro by the Doctor
“Theodore and Amos try to rob the bank” from The Apple Dumpling Gang (the segment starts with Theodore telling Amos his plan for using a rope to haul himself to the roof, it ends at the next scene with the Sheriff finding the two thieves tied up together in front of the vault. cut the scene before the trial starts)
6th clip for the Doctor
"The Beautiful Briny" from Bedknobs and Broomsticks (start with them meeting Mr. Cod and end as soon as they accept the trophy)
Another Doctor segment, the 7th clip
“A cougar attacks a child” from  Return of the Big Cat (This TV movie is on youtube not Disney+; and clips were actually shown out of order for the episode. first clip time stamp 41:52 to 43:53, and the second clip time stamp is 37:30 to 39:27)
 7th Doctor Who clip
“The puppets dancing” from Escape to Witch Mountain (the scene starts with the kids being stuck inside while it rains. they make the puppets come to life, the villains watch them from a hidden camera, next scene the children discuss running away)
8th Doctor who clip
“He’s a Tramp” from Lady and the Tramp (scene kicks off with Lady being brought into the pound, ends with the song ending)
Final Doctor Who clip
Tumblr media
Of course it’s Disney and Doctor Who, two my favorite things combined so I love it. THe best bits were the songs, but even the segments from ‘lesser’ films proved to be at least interesting given their context.
The Apple Dumpling and Escape to Witch Mountain were the big theatrical releases at the time, hence their inclusion.
BlackBeard’s Ghost, The African Lion, and Jungle Book were all getting planned releases that following year, and indeed the theater where this was filmed was playing Lady and the Tramp at the time. Which is why the episode ended on that segment in particular.
But most interesting of all was the Return of the Big Cat segment. A movie that I didn’t even knew existed until this marathon.
It’s not a theatrical release, but rather a made for tv movie that was created for Disney’s anthology show The Wonderful World of Color.
Disney made original tv movies from time to time for his anthology and they’re basically the prototype for the Disney Channel Original Movies that I grew up on. With about the same level of quality too.
Tumblr media
With new Doctor Who coming to Disney Plus soon, this was a fun look in that I wouldn’t mind revisiting again. Especially since I know where the clips actually begin and end. It took a while to figure that part out.

Peter Tork with Russian poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko, Toby and Bob Rafelson and others in Honolulu, December 1966; Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz, and Peter onstage in Honolulu on December 3, 1966. Photos by KRLA Beat, Jerry Y. Chong for the Honolulu Advertiser, unnamed (including a screenshot from Peter’s My Generation interview), Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
“The Honolulu International Center Arena was jammed when The Monkees took the stage. Even Russian poet Yevgeny Yevutshenko was there to see what the Monkees could do. The Monkees — David Jones, Mike Nesmith, Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz — are an ingenious combination of music and mirth. They sing fairly well — when you can hear them between the screams — but what they lack in vocal finesse, they make up in stage presence. Talk about energy! […] Micky’s take-off […] on James Brown — and remember those gaudy aloha shirts that were used? — featured some fancy footwork and from-the-heart wailing. It, easily, was the evening’s highlight. Perhaps the favorite Monkee was David who, with puppy-dog eyes and long, flowing hair, was the best-overall performer. His Broadway stage experience — he was in Oliver — was very much in evidence when he belted out ‘The Joker’ and ‘I Wanna Be Free.’ Peter, too, was a sensation when he plucked his banjo (he’s usually on guitar) and chanted a folk tune. He had a Ringo-like naivete, and looked like the Dutch Boy on the cleanser. Mike, unfortunately, gets into the act too infrequently. He has the makings of a real charmer — he’s a funny fellow — but he lets his buddies take the spotlight. […] The Monkees were dynamite.” - Wayne Harada, The Honolulu Advertiser, December 5, 1966
“Mike also does a very funny imitation of L.B.J. and during the hour and a half takeover of KPOI by the Monkees, he demonstrated this in what has to be the funniest newscast ever, anywhere. ‘Peter Tork, Honolulu, and Mike Nesmith, Honolulu,’ did a Huntley-Brinkley five minutes that proved their ad lib and improvisational ability. Mike reported, ‘President Johnson called the United Nations today and asked U Thant if he might be a little more familiar with him and call him “U.”’ Peter chimes in, ‘And he replied, “Nu.”’ [Micky] Dolenz was having such a ball playing disc jockey [(]’Hi there everybody, this is the [Micky] the D show on KPOI’) that he begged for permission to come back and do the all night show. […] During their hectic airport arrival last week, the Monkees were mobbed when several hundred screaming teenaged girls broke through a restraining rope. Their limousine was surrounded, but all the boys got inside except Peter Tork who was forced to climb on top [of] the car in the rush. One of the show’s promoters saw the car start to pull away and leaped on the trunk to try to keep Peter form falling. As the car sped down the runway, a safe distance away from the mob of girls still chasing after it, Peter turned to the passenger clinging to the trunk and said calmly, ‘Tom Moffatt, I presume?’ He was right! During the ride in from the airport, some enterprising fan pulled alongside the Monkees’ car and handed a wool hat to Mike Nesmith, who still clutched it as they checked into the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. As they rested in their rooms on arrival, devouring fresh pineapple as if they hadn’t eaten in weeks and listening to the radio, Mike said in his Texas drawl, ‘How come it’s so low?’ Although it seemed a normal level to me, he walked over and turned it louder than radio has ever been in the Royal. The Monkees clown among themselves just as much as they do before an audience. The Saturday night show was sold out even before the group arrived Thursday afternoon.
The Monkees demonstrated that they were actors, performers and showmen, and in live performances, that is what’s important, what with all the screaming that inevitably goes on.” - Dave Donnelly, Honolulu Star-Bulletin, December 7, 1966
“[W]e went to Hawaii and then we did our first hour long show. [...] We started off with just the four of us and then we broke down and solo turns with the backup band, the opening act band came out and backed us up for solo turns — and then they left and we finished the hour, just the four of us. We did an hour that way. It was nerve-wracking because we’d never played an hour in front of people before and we had a few ideas and we tried them and they didn’t work very well. But it was an out-of-town tryout. We were in Hawaii (laughs) and word was not gonna get back if we were really, really terrible. (laughs)” - Peter Tork, Rock Cellar Magazine, 2016

is it alright to share a little thought here? you don’t have to publish this if you don’t want to!
For me, I think the SWA hiatus was not as shocking as others found it because Tom wasn’t promoting anything or even a part of interviews for the new EP. The only thing I ever saw him post for Pink. Yellow. Red. was him saying which song was his favourite.
It began to feel like he was simply too busy, and as the lead singer it leaves the rest of the lads in an odd spot. They went to a lot of gigs in such a short period of time as well, I wonder if they simply tired themselves out, burnout is so real.
I can’t wait to see what all the boys do from here though! We love Tom but they are all so genuinely creative as well 🩷
Of course, I completely agree - Tom really did not do a lot of advertising this - which nothing against him in many ways , i imagine he is very busy.
But yeah, he seems to have taken a step back with all the photos from insta deleted and such.

ive been seeing talk of warner apparently forcing mcr to make a 4th album when they wanted to end with black parade. did they say this or is this a rumor? where does it come from? im a new fan so tumblr asks are the only way to get even a semblance of context
oh wow don't worry that's definitely not true lol. i guess i can see how it was a rumour because gerard did originally intend for the black parade to be the last album mcr did, like, before they even made it. but also he originally intended for bullets to be their one and only album for a bit too and ray convinced him to keep going, and then the black parade world tour was so gruelling that, again, ray convinced gerard to take a step break and take a break from mcr because otherwise they inevitably would have broken up from the stress. they took a couple years off mcr without setting a specific date to come back, so that when they decided to come back it would be for the right reasons. and then when they did, they set a bunch of rules for the new album because the black parade writing and touring process had been so mentally and physically draining. one of the rules was the new record would have no concept, it would have a more stripped-back punk rock sound etc etc. and that's where conventional weapons came from. they were literally gearing up to release it and starting promo for it when frank came up the the na na na riff just before gerard went on a week-long holiday to the californian desert, where he couldn't get it out of his head. gerard decided they needed to scrap everything and start from scratch, because conventional weapons didn't feel representative of what mcr could be, partly because it didn't have a ~concept. the rest of the guys were onboard except for bob, who did not survive the band's transition into danger days LOL. and then danger days was actually written really quickly and they were psyched about it. or at least mostly - frank said some stuff in interviews after the breakup that implied he wished they had a little more time to work on danger days and that he might have preferred conventional weapons overall, and i think there's kind of an (oversimplified, if you ask me) conception that conventional weapons was ~frank's album and danger days was ~ray's. but anyway, if anything it says how lenient their label was with them at that stage, probably largely due to their a&r guy craig aaronson's championing of them, that they were even allowed to scrap an album they'd already started promoting and write a new one. i'd say that rumour was also partly propagated by danger days being kind of badly received by some fans given it was such a divergence from some of their previous stuff, and also because apparently it was pretty heavily advertised and a lot of people felt like they'd gone "commercial" and felt kind of alienated from the band. gerard was also struggling a lot with his mental health at the time so i think that era leaves a bad taste in people's mouths for that reason, even though it's certainly not the only era in the band's history that that's true for.
anyway, most of that information is just compiled from memory from a bunch of different sources, but if you can get access to it (i honestly think it's worth buying as an ebook), tom bryant's not the life it seems is a really good overview of the band's history. it's a little bit sensationlised at times and certainly very frank-centric because music journalists love frank and he was (and still kind of is tbh) really the only one who agreed to doing mcr-related interviews for a long time, but it's a great read if you can stomach the content warnings.
also for new fans in general, this blogspot is a great resource that has practically every magazine interview mcr ever did up until 2009 scanned in. this blog also has a great list of scans that continue later.
from memory this nme interview is one of the ones that went pretty in-depth about the transition from conweap into dd, cw for ed and fatphobia though.

Big movies with big advertising budgets are the ones that can afford to do major stops around the world. And Mexico or Brazil are the main ones for Latin America. Remember when Tom went with Laura and Stan Lee to Mexico for HOCO? Or when Tom went with Jake G to Mexico City for FFH and even went to the pyramids in Teotihuacán? That anon is just trying to spread bs saying that only bad movies have promo events in Mexico
YEa Anon! I remember that during HOCO promotion! They most certainly went to Mexico! And you're right about major studios being able to afford to send their actors to a variety of locations around the world for film promo when it's a major film coming out. I remember when Tom even went to Bali for Spiderman promotion! 😊

The Aloha From Hawaii live show was famously a benefit for the Kui Lee Cancer Fund. Although the initiative of making the concert a charity event was Colonel Parker's, it was respected Hawaiian entertainment writer Eddie Sherman who suggested that the beneficiary be the local cancer research charity.
Eddie Sherman passed away in 2013, aged 88. He was quoted in the Honolulu-Star Advertiser as part of his obituary;
"…I had started the Kui Lee Cancer Fund, through my column, for a doctor at the University of Hawaii doing cancer research. Lee was the legendary songwriter who died of cancer at 34. In the TV concert, Elvis sang Kui’s most famous tune, I’ll Remember You, to millions of global viewers. Thanks to Elvis and Colonel Tom Parker, his manager, I received, for the fund, a check for $75,000 from the live concert gate…The audience was allowed in via their own contributions. Some kids saw the show for only 10 cents. Next day, Elvis and the Colonel took out full-page newspaper ads thanking Hawaii…"

The Aloha From Hawaii concert was broadcast 50 years ago this January. There'll be a few more posts to come about some the people behind the scenes, and one or two disasters that nearly derailed the entire project at the last moment...

“Just because you can, doesn’t mean you (always) should!” THIS right here is the key to everything. Doesn’t matter what “the market will bear” capitalism arguments. Integrity informs perception and maybe that should come at a higher value then the “market’.
It simply would put something on the other side of the balance, instead of only going for the (easy) money when you can get it, to actually show you appreciate all fans, to show your passion for theatre. To show your interest in things that you advertise as a non profit.
As we had this discussion today about theatre today, I just re-read the interview in Square mile last year with him and Tom Ellis they were talking about the differences and their passion to get back to theatre.

Now, for the people in the back, the part in bold is what Tom Ellis said, so not Sam, the first 2 sentences are what Sam said. But it is obvious agents and managers don't see money involved in theatre. As an actor you shouldn't always value the jobs on money but choose for passion now and then. put you money where your mouth is what they say, why not DO theatre then if you're passionate about it. If RR and John Bell can do it during hiatus, why can't he? What do we see during hiatus from him? Months of flaunting in Mexico and LA last year, and a week filming Suspect in London.
Another example where I think, why not show your interest is the play that won his Write Start Competition, A Bucket of Sunshine. Absolutely like that he created that competition creating a chance for young people in the industry this way. But how easy it would have been to just show his interest, a tweet, an IG story to promote the play. Help to sell the tickets for it. It's now on stage but not a bleep from him.

So, I guess according to antis’ logic which is that Tom and Zendaya only pose for pics in public when they are paid to promote that place, Louvre must have desperately needed advertisement because the world doesn’t know about that little museum. Tomdaya is apparently on Mona Lisa’s payroll now, lol.

Tom said golf is the only of his sports he can do without risking injury. Even if he does other things, we're not seeing it because he doesn't film himself anymore. The best we can hope for is Dogpound guilting him into doing some free advertising.
tom “i’m good at selling shit” holland better get his ass to work promoting dogpound again!! c’mon sir can’t let your investment go to waste!
