Random Kaplan family headcanons (P1 of ?)

Jeff and Rebecca met at the age of twenty-five. Rebecca's brother and Jeff's sister were put together by a matchmaker and decided to try and introduce the two families.

All of their sons are named after playwrights (William Shakespeare=William (Billy) Kaplan, Eugene O'Neill=Eugene (Gene) Kaplan, Samuel Beckett=Beckett Kaplan)

Billy is the oldest (nineteen), Gene is the middle child (seventeen), and Beckett is the youngest (fourteen).

Gene and Beckett are also mutants, but Eugene doesn't use his powers, and Beckett's haven't activated yet.

Jeff and Rebecca legally adopted Tommy when he was seventeen

Jeff has undiagnosed Autism. He and Rebecca agreed not to get a professional diagnosis.

Beckett is Autistic and has ADHD, Gene has dyslexia and Billy has dyspraxia and have all been diagnosed.

Gene is obsessed with dreams and sleep (like, he wants to study it at university and stuff)

Tommy likes arts and crafts and often makes bookmarks and gives them to friends as gifts. He doesn't like using hot glue guns, though.

Jeff knits to relieve stress and to keep his hands steady.

Gene does knitting and crochet, and Beckett does embroidery.

Rebecca calls herself Dr. Rebecca Oure-Klum (her maiden name) to her patients. And Jeff just tells them to call him Jeff.

Billy, Beckett, and Gene used to have a massive Minecraft world that they played on together, but now only Beckett plays on it.

Gene goes to a private boarding school for high achieving students.

Everyone at Beckett's school avoids him because of Billy and the John Kessler thing.

Beckett posts superhero fanfiction online (but never includes The Young Avengers because to him, that's weird). Jeff and Rebecca support it because they think fanfiction and fanart are healthy ways for teenagers to explore gender, sexuality and creativity; they do not read them, though, Gene does and occasionally does fanart for Beckett's fics, but keep them on the down low.

Gene has a crush on Marvel Girl (Jean Grey, not Rachel). Beckett has a crush on Iceman, Spider-Man, and Human Torch.

Jeff and Rebecca made a swear jar for English swears, a swear jar for Yiddish swears, a swear jar for Hebrew swears, and a swear jar for made up language swears. They have over 5,000 dollars in them.

Gene once got Northstars autograph. He also once got Jean-Paul Beaubier's autograph. So far, he's the only person to have figured out his identity by himself.

They live next door to William and Madeline Drake.

The reason Gene and Becket weren’t home when Mother took over is because they were both on multiday field trips to Xaviers School for Gifted Youngsters.

Gene cries when dogs die in movies. A Dogs Journey broke him.

Like Billy, Jeff sleep talks. A lot. Mainly about the structure of a heart and different heart conditions. Often about Rebecca.

A Skull Council High School AU - Cliques and Freaks

Features: Centralia, Fairmount, Loathesome, Stephbit, Northstar, Forgotten Warnings: None

Forgotten would absolutely be the loner kid who’s a secret badass. He’d usually keep to himself, but when push comes to shove, he can really hold his own. He’s the kid you could run to for a shoulder to lean on, or a friend to kick someone’s ass for you. Granted, he’s not much for conversation, but he’d sweet in his own way.

Loathesome would be the detention kid, no question about it. He’d be in the back of class cracking jokes and tossing paper balls, carving things into the desk, teaching other kids how to make rubberband guns, all kinds of shit. He’d be living in detention most of the time, but there’s a certain kind of appeal to it.

Centralia would be the quiet kid that you kinda avoid for your own safety. Typically, he’d be in detention alongside Loathesome, but rather than flinging paper balls, he’d be lighting trashcans on fire, writing up lists of people he hates, and, well, definitely being the kid wearing a trenchcoat in summer.

Stephbit would be the queen bee, or at least she’d think she is. Whether or not she really ends up as the most popular girl in school is irrelevant, she acts like she owns the place, and if challenged, will destroy kneecaps, no questions asked. Getting in good with her does mean getting the best table at lunch though, since the last guy who tried to sit there without permission went missing.

Fairmount would be a theater kid, no doubt about it. He’s got the flair, he’s got the skirts, he’s got the disgusting shapeshifting! Regardless, he’s a complete delight to watch and be around. Sure, he’s a little unstable… A lot unstable, but he’s sweet, and hey, he’ll do your makeup for you!

Northstar would be jocky, but secretly a huge nerd. I’m talking dungeons and dragons every saturday night. Be careful, if he even gets the slightest idea you might think dragons are neat, you’ll end up in his basement with 12 other people raiding the dungeons of Gragnok the Dark wizard.

Centralia and Loathesome tend to stick near each other, while Fairmount tends to bounce between bugging Stephbit, fawning over Northstar, and poking Forgotten to see if he responds to him.

All of them casually bully Evan.

a shallow song that he just likes and threw onto an album and performs bc fans like it. definitely written when his career started taking off and he was pretty young and irresponsible.

pretty obvious, but this one is addressed to his high school girlfriend (i'm thinking he probably wrote this in 11th or 12th grade and only really still performs it because it's really popular) and is about his relationship with his abusive dad. there are a lot of sort of "ugly" confessions and implications in this one that i think he was probably ashamed or nervous to say out loud when he first wrote it and would perform it, especially when his dad was still alive, but it kind of feels good to shout it to a giant room full of people now (and to have them shout it back).

five beer plan — joyce manor

more upsetting, in a way, about his dad and his mental health, because it details an artificial relationship between them that his dad liked to pretend they had when he wasn't being violent. idk. just bucky telling his dad to his face about what he's feeling (and of course only doing it because he wants him to know it's his fault).

of all the gin joints in all the world — fall out boy

when your relationship is starting to fall off because you're both so busy and you're struggling to communicate but making up for it with sex. he's sort of flip-flopping between talking about loving you and talking about ways in which your relationship is hurting him. definitely isn't released (and probably isn't written/finished) until after you break up.

death cup — mom jeans

desperate and gut-wrenching breakup song. he feels sorry for himself and is so gentle in his delivery with the lyrics because he feels so fucking hopeless. he is just totally defeated because he can't see things getting better for him since he knows that the breakup will only make all of his nasty habits (the ones that you broke up with him because of) worse. i think that the only reason he still performs it after you get back together is because it sort of reminds him of how badly he fucked up and how lucky he is to have you back.

blonde hair, black lungs — sorority noise

also a breakup song, but more angry. the feelings have had time to develop and he's just so upset (sad, angry, frustrated, etc.) and he doesn't know how to deal with it. this one is different for him to perform because he doesn't really want to, it's just popular and he doesn't want to disappoint people; it sometimes makes him really emotional and he just stops singing because he gets choked up and lets the crowd keep going for him.

just him being supremely depressed at the height of his addiction and knowing he needs more serious help than he's getting and feeling like giving up because he knows if he gets the help that he needs (addiction rehab/psych ward care) the entire world will know and he's just so sick of everything about his life being so public bc it's all ruining him.

at the point that bucky writes this, he's accepted the breakup and it's just whatever to him, but he's just bitter at everyone and frustrated with himself because he's still in a rough spot mentally. this one isn't really painful for him to perform like the post-breakup songs because it isn't so emotional and also it bangs.

a little less sixteen candles, a little more "touch me" — fall out boy

i don't really think this is about a certain person, but rather him reflecting on the habits that he forms in relationships that hurt the people he's with. he just gets too comfortable fucking up and he hates himself for it because he really loves you and really cares for the girl that he dates while you and him are broken up (and all of the people before that) and he doesn't really have a good reason for his missteps.

laugh till i cry — the front bottoms

100% about somebody he was seeing while you were broken up (i don't think his ex that he dated before you and then got with again once you were separated, but this could def be up for debate). he isn't really compatible with anyone the way that he's compatible with you and while it's sad, it's not a huge loss for him.

he writes this, like...three days after you get back together. it's like he's falling in love with you all over again (except he never fell out of love with you, so it's far deeper this time). after all he's been through, he would go through even more to keep you now that he has you again.

The name is in the course description but it's shared by a prominent Utah gay man and one of my good friends from high school who recently came out and I'm curious which one it is. If you don't feel comfortable sharing in a list but would be okay with a DM, lmk and I'll send you a message.

The prominent Utah gay man is Ty Mansfield who is a board member of NorthStar, married to a woman, a family therapist, an adjunct professor at BYU, and he's considered controversial for several reasons, including for arguing in favor of keeping conversion therapy legal in Utah.

Drury's aunt, Valerie Wilcox, told the The Buffalo News that she fondly recalled the day her sister legally adopted the "sweet, sweet girl" with a capacity for joy that could echo off the walls. On family vacations to Wildwood, New Jersey, Amanda remembers that her sister was the one pulling everyone else into the water.

"Jubilant" was the word her brother, Christopher Moyer, used to describe her. She was a fan of food and life and seemingly every song on the radio he didn't know, he said.

Drury's swings in energy could make it difficult to hold a job, Moyer said. But after he was diagnosed with leukemia, eventually requiring a bone marrow transplant, she rushed to Buffalo eight years ago to be by his side. She babysat his two small children, made grocery trips to help out, and accompanied him on wing runs for his restaurant, The Dalmatia Hotel.

“No matter what she went through. She was full of life," said her friend and neighbor in Buffalo, Krystle Pino, to radio station WGRZ. "Caring, happy, she cared about everyone,”

At the beginning of each day, Pino told the Syracuse Post-Standard, Drury liked to pop her head out the window to yell across the street.

“Good morning, Boo,” Drury would yell. “I love you!”

“I love you, too!” Pino responded in kind.

Drury lived just 10 minutes on foot from the Tops Friendly Markets location on Jefferson Avenue — and on Saturday afternoon, May 14, she walked down the street the same way she always did, Moyer said.

But this time, she didn’t return.

"I knew about the shooting immediately," Moyer said. "All my friends had called me saying, 'Oh my god, I can't believe what happened down the street.'"

Moyer knew a gunman was at their local supermarket. He knew multiple people had been shot. He refused to even imagine that his sister could be involved.

But she wasn't answering the phone. She wasn't at home. His sister's friends began to knock on his door, saying they were worried.

"Little by little," he said, "it began to seep in."

Even before the police called, he began preparing his family for the worst.

She had been among the first victims, they learned. She'd been shot down in the Tops parking lot by a man who’d scrawled a racial slur onto his rifle. 

The alleged killer had driven more than 200 miles from his home to Buffalo’s historical Black Main Street. According to police, he left behind a white supremacist manifesto describing his plan to terrorize anyone who didn’t look like him.

By the time police allowed the gunman to lay down his rifle, 13 people had been shot. And 10 lay dead.

Among them was his sister, just 32 years old, who would never again be able to shout her love from her front window, or serenade her sister with Whitney Houston songs over the phone.

"It's hard to know what to say," said Moyer, who said his family is trying to keep it together. He spoke from the hospital, after suffering yet another health setback.

For sister Amanda, Roberta was the one who made sure family gatherings were all about spending boisterous quality time together. "Her vibrancy set a tone," she said.

Moyer’s restaurant, The Dalmatia Hotel, declared itself heartbroken in a Facebook message, calling her a “bright light in the world.”

“To learn that a member of our NorthStar family fell victim to an extremist act of hate, is unfathomable,” wrote Daniel Bowles, superintendent of the North Syracuse Central School District where Drury had attended high school.

As for Drury's neighbor, Pino, she was left to tell her young children that they would never again see their neighbor, she told the Post-Standard.

“I had to explain … she is with God now,” Pino said.

Richard Petty and Billy Lane Hot Rod Kart Build Off

Northern Tool + Equipment will celebrate the upcoming release of its all new NorthStar line of engines by announcing an exciting build-off in front of thousands of people at the Minnesota Street Rod Association Back to the 50's event on June 23rd. Two Minnesota high schools will spend the next year constructing rat rod go-karts using 740cc NorthStar EFI engines under the watchful eye of mentors Richard Petty, a NASCAR legend, and celebrity motorcycle builder Billy Lane. The build-off is part of Northern Tool + Equipment's Tools for the Trades™ program.

"Tools for the Trades™ is a great program, and it's important for kids to know they have career options. This country will always need tradespeople to make and manufacture things," said Petty. "The team at Petty's Garage and I are excited to meet the students and help them with this build-off."

The schools will each receive a new, cutting-edge NorthStar EFI engine. Later this year, multiple sizes of the engine, from 180cc to 825cc, including two new engines at 300cc and 420cc, will be used in NorthStar products and available for purchase at Northern Tool. Each school's career and technical education program will also receive a donation of professional-grade tools and equipment, including air compressors and air-powered tools donated by Ingersoll Rand.

"Ingersoll Rand is excited to support these students with the opportunity to learn valuable skills by providing access to the same quality equipment used by professionals across the skilled trades," added Kate Hartman, marketing leader at Ingersoll Rand.

Northern Tool created Tools for the Trades™ to help address the skilled trades labor gap by providing schools, students and instructors with the proper equipment to grow trades learning options and the experiences to fuel interest in the trades for the next generation. The schools selected for this build-off, Minneapolis North and Lakeville North, will be able to provide students with invaluable hands-on experience through the project. The finished carts will also be custom pinstriped by renowned pinstriper Cliff Anderson, Jr, and the eight-month process will be featured on social media with progress narration by celebrity YouTuber Dylan McCool.

"We're passionate about supporting and fueling the curiosity of the next generation of tradespeople," said Northern Tool + Equipment Co-owner Wade Kotula. "This is an exciting project because it will teach real-world skills while also exposing students to the wealth of knowledge our mentors possess, and they get to start and end it all at an amazing event in MSRA's Back to the 50's Weekend."

Finished carts will then be unveiled at the 50th Anniversary of Back to the 50's in 2024 and will be raced at Lane's Sons of Speed® classic motorcycle racing series.

"It's a thrill and an honor to be involved in teaching students these skills," said Lane. "There are a lot of good ways to make a living, and this effort by Northern Tool + Equipment to expose students to the trades at a young age is critical."

Dove Andris (she/they) is the second youngest member of the Angels of the Dusk. She is female and 16 yrs old. Also, she is a nephilim (giant), is Lithuanian, and deaf. Dove was born 5 years after the Paradiso-Inferno War and was taken in by her aunt, Uriel. But, Dove was banished along with others. She is currently a high school student at Northstar High and lives with the others.

I’m Sophia Mitra but you can just call me Sophia on this blog. I’m a high school student who has a deep love for books and literature in general. My favorite genre is anything romance: rom-com, historical romance, contemporary romance and others. As I write this entry, I’am currently reading Emma by Jane Austen. 

Other than books, I also enjoy a variety of activities. I don’t really enjoy those tasks or activities that require me to use too much of my energy (with the exception of my favorite sport, Volleyball). When I have the time, I either listen to music under RNB, K-Pop or OPM or watch movies that I find interesting.

I enjoy singers like Stray Kids, NewJeans, IVE, NorthStar Boys, Keshi and Hojean. For movies, cult classics like Breakfast at Tiffany’s, The Breakfast Club and Grease are the ones that piqued my interest.

Before I end this entry, I wanted to share a line from one of my current favorite songs as a reminder:

HAYDEN KENNEDY ASHFORD

hayden has a twin sister and three older siblings and they were all born and raised in southampton, england.

his mother, camila boucher is a french-british former model, businesswoman, and socialite whose family owned northstar enterprises* while his father, alexander ashford, was from a lower-middle class family in scotland. he had a more rags-to-riches story and built his company, ashford media corportation** from the ground up.

hayden has adhd and dyslexia, which has caused major problems for him growing up. he’d gotten suspended and kicked out of a number of schools, reasons which include setting fire to his books on campus grounds and bringing weed and pills and knives and other sharp objects to school until finally, in 2006, his parents allowed him to live with his father in america to attend a public high school in new york.

he did visit his mother and stepfather, jack, in southampton every year still. in fact, he might’ve only been going just for his stepfather, who was a musician and had been a huge influence on hayden’s passion for music. while hayden had always been a musical child, it was jack who had really mentored and supported him in finding his own style.

it was money and talent (but mostly money) that had gotten hayden into juilliard despite his unflatering school records. it was much easier for him to read music than words and so against all odds, he eventually obtained his bachelor of music in cello with a minor in jazz studies.

started experimenting with electronic music in juilliard and began posting his own remixes of pop songs on soundcloud under the name ak6969. his remixes had become something of a viral hit on the internet, even reaching meme status in recent years after some tiktok users had dug up his old stuff.

the internet had always been his second home. apart from his soundcloud, he also used to post videos on youtube and had garnered a fair amount of attention for how he would ‘electronify’ classical music. that, along with the goofy, chaotic persona he presented online, had him creating the ‘Mister A’ character sketches (think filthy frank) and later, streaming. it’s worth noting that each type of content he posted (music, vlogging, gaming) would be under a different account that he personally did not link to each other but was known among his viewers. in 2014, he signed a contract with twitch to be a partner and to exclusively stream on their platform.

apart from streaming, hayden turned to spinning in nightclubs, of which there was no shortage in new york, to make extra income. he has been doing gigs since 2010.

moved to bridgeport, maine with his then-boyfriend, fellow streamer, casey, (who was a native of bridgeport) in 2016 where they purchased a beach house along the coast. they’ve been together for five years when casey was diagnosed with a terminal illness in late 2017. the pair had already talked about getting married beforehand, but it was receiving this news that had pushed them to hold a small, quiet ceremony with friends and family in may of 2018. casey’s health had gone through a rapid decline and unfortunately, in december of that same year, passed away.

in the wake of casey’s passing, hayden had returned to his old drug habits in high school and college as a form of self-medicating his grief. he was working nonstop at VYZE (of which he is part-owner), streaming, and producing new music all while high on pills and cocaine.

released his first album, Re:Verbs in december 2021 which he describes as not the culmination of his grief, but only the beginning of catharsis.

voluntarily entered an in-patient drug rehabilitation facility immediately after his album’s release, also taking a three-month hiatus from streaming. he checked out very recently in march.

A Skull Council High School AU - Detention

Features: Centralia, Fairmount, Loathesome, Stephbit, Northstar, Forgotten Warnings: Mild violence

Forgotten would know exactly why he’s in detention. Whether it’s because he got caught in a huge fight, or let someone else cheat off his test, he won’t fight his detention, typically sitting in a middle row.

Loathesome would know why he’s got detention, he practically lives there, but it doesn’t stop him from harshly arguing for his freedom. How dare they! Sure, he stapled another kid’s hand to a desk, but that doesn’t mean he deserves detention!

Centralia wouldn’t understand why he’s in detention. He is actively doing horrid things like stabbing a kid during an argument, but he still wouldn’t get why he’s being punished. The other kid started it, they deserve punishment, not him!

Stephbit wouldn’t know why she’s in detention, purely because she’s done so much shit in one day that it’s hard to pin down exactly one reason why she’d be there. She also isn’t fighting it, instead, she enjoys the alone time… Aside from her fellow detentionaires.

Fairmount knows why he’s in detention, and will stop at nothing to escape. Rather than try teaming up with Loathesome though, he attempts to climb through the vent, or jump out the window when the detention monitor isn’t present.

Northstar knows why he’s in detention, and just uses the detention as extra time to work on his campaigns. Typically, he forgets he’s in detention and will continue working on whatever he’s working on for much longer than his original sentence.

Aside from Centralia, Loathesome and Fairmount, they mostly keep to themselves during detention to avoid extending their sentence, though every once in a while, Fairmount will get Stephbit and Northstar interacting with each other. This usually isn’t intentional, the pair will usually just start cracking jokes back and forth when Fairmount’s escape attempts fail as usual.

Loathesome and Centralia usually end up plotting ways to kill the detention monitor to escape, which ironically gets them longer and longer detentions every time they are caught. It doesn’t stop them though, it just fuels their belief that they are being unfairly punished. There was at least one attempt to attack the detention monitor that went really badly. If they could get the other three to team up with them, then maybe, but there would obviously be consequences.

Evan is not in detention because he avoids these six students like the plague.

Alright, I had this wonderful idea come into my head about Clayton, honestly he deserves his own fic. So here is his version of events! Lots will tie together with Golden so I recommend you read that as well. But you don’t have to of course.

Explaining:

Before Letter is the present.

Letter is updating the lives of the people back home, of whoever wrote it mostly.

After Letter is memory.

The first few letters will be very awkward because writing letters and not being sure what to talk about and what not to talk about is hard and confusing. Stick with me! Yes, this prologue is just a letter.

Chapter 6:

In Color

“I don’t think you’re ready for that.” Grev was leaning against the door frame, cigar in his mouth and dressed in a casual yet expensive suit. “It will mess with your head.”

“Are you allowed to smoke in here?” Grev snatches the book from his grasp and raises a challenging eyebrow at him. Putting his hands up in surrender he starts walking back towards his bed. Ass out.

“How did you get up?” Grev took his normal seat and put his ankle on his knee to get comfortable.

“I stood up… why is that some miracle or something?”

“A little, you did get shot in the back of the head.” Grev goes back to puffing his cigar, oddly enough it doesn’t smell like a normal cigar. His dad would have one every holiday, he knows what they smell like. Clay is about to sit back on the bed when he hears Grev clear his throat, looking up Clay makes eye contact with the older man for a moment.

“Fine, I changed my mind… you can look. But, only if I get to explain the pictures to you.” Clay sits down and pats the mattress next to him. Grev grumbles under his breath and walks over to sit next to him. He opens the picture album to the first page.

“Is that you?” Clay points to a picture of two small boys looking happy with smiles on their faces, but their eyes told a different story. Even in black and white Clay could see how scared they were.

“That's my twin brother Clark and I, we were 12 years old, working in a factory during the Great Depression.” Clay looks up at him confused, Great depression… but Grev doesn’t look that old. Shaking his head thinking maybe he found the fountain of youth, Clay kept looking at the pictures. Flipping through happy and sad pictures as he turned each page.

“You are in the military?”

“Was, and yes. That was my battle buddy, his name was Gerald Kinzie. He was a high school teacher in San Antonio… I wonder where he is now.”

They turn the page and Clay can’t help but awwwwwww out loud. A picture of Grev with a beautiful woman, he’s kissing her cheek and they appear to be in… wedding? Attire.

“That’s your grandmother and I.”

Dear Clayton,

I know you are deployed a little longer than we were told you would be, but it’s okay! As long as you are safe somewhere then I don’t mind! You’re someone I can spill the beans to and not get in trouble.

You obviously remember the Sheriff, well he has passed away. I know it is terrible to celebrate someone's passing but he and his family made your life a living hell. Ashley scarred your beautiful face.

Yes, you may look more devil's advocate but it doesn’t make me sad.

A bad thing to come out of his death, besides his death of course God Bless his soul, is that Leo was investigated for it.

Now this happened a few months ago, I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want you to worry about your brother, he is just fine now. Him and his boys came to visit not long ago.

First it was Leo by himself and then his boys came down a few days later. He was the happiest I have seen him since you left. He really misses you baby. So does your Daddy.

I think I am close to convincing him to write to you! He was asking for a pen and paper the other night when he had his night smoke on the back porch. So, look out for that letter.

I got a call from Noelle, she is just a peach you sure got lucky with her, she called to ask me if I had a box or a basket of little things you would find and give to me and your Daddy. She called you a penguin and I couldn’t help but laugh.

I told her that we have a room dedicated to everything you would find for us because the things you brought us vary in sizes. She didn’t say much about it after that, just talked about how Thomas and her were thinking about coming down in a month. After the last game of the season.

Of course I told them they can have your room, I’ve been cleaning it everyday just in case you surprise me like you like to do.

It was humid that night, Noelle has been so excited for this date the entire week. They could only do this on a Thursday night because Thomas was leaving for an away game in Hufflepuff, Noelle was going to visit her other sisters, and Clay was going to get tested to get into boot camp this weekend.

So, driving Clay’s brand new truck up to the highest point in Gryff to watch the sunset. It was cliché but it was comforting. Noelle parks the truck after backing it up into the spot so they feel like they are floating over the cliff. They lay blankets and pillows down to be comfortable.

They turned on some low music, Thomas and Noelle laughed as Clay tried to mimic Finn’s dancing on the tailgate as the other two snuggled together. Clay stopped and stared at them for a moment, he didn’t realize how intensely he was staring until he felt two very different hands pull him on top of the beautiful two humans he was staring at.

“Hi…” Noelle snorts and gives him a small kiss on his scarred eyebrow. He feels Thomas lean over to presumably give him a kiss on the cheek. Instead he blows a raspberry in his neck, causing Clay to smack his neck and try to get away, only to be pulled further into the pile until he is being sandwiched in between them. Both looking up at him from where their cheeks are squished into his biceps. They are hugging him tightly and their legs are a tangled mess.

Eventually they all relax their grip on each other just a little, watching the sky as it starts to change colors. Clay notices how heavy his partners have gotten suddenly. He looks down to see that Noelle has fallen asleep with her mouth open and is starting to drool, and Thomas has fallen asleep looking more relaxed and peaceful than he has all week.

Clay knows they don’t want him to go into the military but ever since he moved to Gryff for the winters… he's been lost. Feeling useless while everyone else is out improving their lives. He needed a path of his own. He can’t just be the pretty thing that sits at home and waits for his lovers like a dog. He needs a purpose of his own.

Looking down at them, he smiles and traces the three little moles on Noelles tan cheek that make a triangle. He looks over to Thomas who has a small scar just below his lip. Noelle recently attacked his eyebrows with some tweezers and Clay can still see the little scab from where Thomas tried to move his head and she plucked his skin on accident.

Clay doesn’t realise how much time passed as he just memorised their faces, breathing pattern and the way they cling to him, until he realises the only light illuminating Noelles honey brown hair is the streetlight they parked next to.

He looks up at the sky and sees the stars for the first time since moving to the city… it just so happens to be his lucky night.

He makes a wish on the bright northstar.

He wants this forever.

HEADCANONS: 𝐈. Tommy doesn’t have a middle name in canon but I decided to give him one! I was inspired after reading through some old comics about the twins when they were born, and Erik was upset that both children were named after Vision’s family. I’m fixing that so Tommy was given the middle name Jakob in both lifetimes. He’s named after Jakob Eisenhardt … his grandfather’s father. 𝐈𝐈. He has a strong fear of doctors, scientist, hospital rooms, and needles. Which is a result of the experimentation that occurred to him while he was an inmate back in his own universe. He also suffers from PTSD. 𝐈𝐈𝐈. There isn’t much known about the Shepherds except that they were awful and neglectful. I tend to make up my own backstory for them to expand upon what little we do know in canon. They got divorced when Tommy was very young. They loved each other once but after a few years everything changed. The boy is bounced between their two homes growing up. His father living in a mobile home big enough for the two of them, but developed an alcohol problem after the divorce and doesn’t notice when Tommy comes or goes most days. His mother gets an apartment but there’s only one bedroom. He’s never there long enough to complain, taking the couch since he’s usually with his father anyway. His teenage years? Tommy started acting out to try getting their attention but it never worked. They were happy to be relived from their burden of taking care of him after his imprisonment. He got used to taking care of himself, maturing faster than a kid should have. It was a broken home and his upbringing with the Shepherds was similar in Decimation. The only difference is that he never went to juvie or prison in his fake life in Kansas.

WHAT THEY’RE PLANNING TO DO IN DECIMATION: His entire life has been in Decimation, or so Tommy thinks. He’s completely unaware of the truth but these ‘waking dreams’ have begun to confuse him. It feels too real but how is that possible? They have to just be dreams. He receives these visions of another life, much more torturous than this one and how cruel to discover someone you love in such a lifeless state. Why would his brain make him relive this each night? Tommy wonders if he should see a therapist because reoccurring dreams about the dead aren’t healthy. He hopes it’ll pass in the meantime, trying to focus on his life. He owns a coffee shop in town and that brings him joy. He likes living a fast-moving life, never the type to sit around doing nothing. You’ll always be able to catch him at work doing something. Tommy was a prankster growing up but mellowed out only a little in adulthood. He knows when and where that behavior would be appropriate. Maybe there’s one good thing about getting older. He doesn’t like getting in trouble, the ‘waking dreams’ of his showing him what punishment looks like. It scares him and glimpses of a collar wake him up instantly. He doesn’t know which vision is worse. Which is why Tommy is more than happy to focus on his friends and business. He never left Decimation before but wonders what else is out there in the world. He knows most of the locals except for the newcomers, of course. He has an outgoing personality and is always approachable.
