Akihiko

Definitely wants to go to the gym with you. Or go on jogs in the morning with you. He's very active and wants to do various exercises with his S/O. Won't push you if you don't want to, but you better at least be a cheerleader for him (he'll be so flustered if you actually cheered for him though).

Constantly makes sure you've eaten. Will ask if you've had breakfast, lunch, dinner, and some snacks. Akihiko just wants to make sure you're taking care of yourself. Doesn't even care if you mention your weight (unless it's something you're serious about), he wants to make sure you eat.

Akihiko isn't the most affectionate boyfriend, but he does check up on you and see how you're doing. Your safety and happiness mean a lot to him and so he wants to make sure you're both.

Junpei

God he's an ass. Obviously he loves you and everything. But he'll tease you, he'll call you "dumb" or small, silly insults he doesn't mean like that. Will also playfully push you too. Just a bit of bullying and he fully expects you to bully him back.

The type of boyfriend that will brag about things you two do. Will smirk and give Akihiko a smug grin as he mentions how you two kissed or made out or something with a bit too many details.

Is a protective boyfriend even if he's a little mean. Maybe too protective at times. Especially if you're more feminine, he'll say that it's his job to take care of you and keep you safe.

Mitsuru

She wants to buy you presents but she doesn't know what to buy. She could just buy something super expensive, but is that really what you want? Will ask everyone in SEES what gifts she should get because she just doesn't know (she's amazed when she finds all the gift recommendations to be pretty cheap).

Mitsuru has a list of common dates she wants to try. Picnics, going to the movies, cheesy cliche things like those. While she could just rent out a fancy restaurant for the two of you, she wants to go on all the classic dates.

Lots of study dates between you two. She's in student council and always tries to be top of her class. So she's constantly studying, but she also wants to spend time with you so you don't feel neglected. Study dates just seem perfect. And if you start doing better in your own classes then that's a bonus!

Shinjiro

Like Akihiko, he makes sure you've eaten constantly. Just because he doesn't take care of himself doesn't mean you can't. Shinjiro will make you sit your ass down so he can cook you something if you haven't eaten.

You definitely have scary dog privilege with him. If anyone gives you trouble or says anything that upsets you then Shinjiro will gladly glare at them (which is usually enough for them to back off - he has a scary face).

He constantly ponders about how he managed to date you. Just how did he get so lucky to actually be in a relationship? He's pushed others away from him, accepting his fate to one day die for his sins. But now he has you and he doesn't understand why he's so lucky. (in reality, you probably pestered him to date you cause he would never ask you out himself because he doesn't deserve it 😒)

pairing: shinjiro aragaki x gn!reader

summary: shinjiro notices you come home from school with a black eye and wants to find out who hurt you!

a/n: “because i will protect you” has to be one of my favorite persona 3 songs, so i had to name this oneshot after it!

“who did this to you?”

shinjiro sat next to you on the couch in the lounge, an ice pack gently pressed against your face, trying to cool down that black eye of yours. he knew that this wasn't there when you left the dorms this morning, so clearly this happened sometime during or after school.

“you don't know them…”

despite of how close shinjiro sat to you, you glanced to the side, avoiding eye contact with him. you were embarrassed about the whole situation. as if being picked on at school by some upperclassmen wasn't enough, now shinjiro knew about it too. and knowing shinjiro, he wouldn't drop the topic until he was convinced you were safe again.

“oh, i'd love to get to know them! why don't you tell me their names?”

you could hear that shinjiro was being sarcastic. of course, he wasn't interested in getting to know your bullies. the only thing he'd introduce them to would be his fists. but violence wouldn't fix your problems. if anything, violence would only lead to more violence.

“can't you just pretend you never saw anything…?” you pleaded quietly, eyes still glued to the wall, instead of shinjiro. “i– i don't want things to get worse…”

shinjiro sighed quietly, pulling away the ice pack and resting his arms on his knees, as he leaned forward. for a moment, he quietly starred forward, seemingly thinking about how to solve your problems, if you didn't want any help. but eventually, he sat up again and took your hand, making you look at him for the first time since the two of you sat down here.

“what if i attended school again? when i'm around you, nobody will dare to lay a hand on you again!”

you could barely believe what you were hearing. shinjiro had stopped attending school a while ago. not even mitsuru or akihiko could get him back into gekkoukan, yet here he was, suggesting to return to school, if it meant keeping you safe.

“i–”

you wanted to reject his offer. you didn't want him to come back just for you. but then you thought about what this would mean for shinjiro. this was the first time he had suggested returning to school. even if it didn't feel right to use his kindness to get him back there, you knew this would be good for him. he could finish his education alongside his friends! and the longer you thought about it, it wouldn't be too bad if you had someone by your side who would look out for you.

“i-if you're truly sure that this is what you want to do…” you started, hesitantly. “then, would you come to school with me tomorrow?”

shinjiro looked a bit perplexed that you actually accepted his offer. you were so resistant, but now it seems you had changed your mind. perhaps you had finally realized that it would be good to have someone by your side, to look out for you!

with a smile, shinjiro nodded and gently squeezed your hand: “then it's settled!”

You had it really badly. Shivering in your bed with tissue boxes running out by the minute, your body was in a state of swelter and ice.

Mitsuru had absolutely banned everyone from coming to see you. Even Aigis. Why Aigis???? Not like she was going to catch the flu. You rolled your eyes.

The buzzing of your phone followed your second sneeze in a row. You were really hoping one of your friends cared enough about you to text you. Maybe this time it wouldn't be wilduck burgers persuading you to buy their ‘super mystery X exclusive alien edition triple patty burger’. You were indeed pleased when you saw Minato's number pop-up.

“How are you?” You almost rolled your eyes again. “Sick.” You stared intently at the 'typing...' icon. “I'm coming up to see you.” You blinked a couple times at your screen. You had a sudden vision of him getting brutally executed by Mitsuru. You also didn't want to pass your illness to him, or have him see you in this puffy and runny nose condition. But also, you missed your boyfriend a lot. Mitsuru had you basically locked up like jail in your room for 3 days now.

You quickly hit backspace on your DO NOT DO THAT message, and instead opted for a “how???” He responded quickly. “don't worry about that.” Why did he have to be so cryptic. It didn't make him edgy or mysterious. Okay, yes it did and it definitely added to his charm, but that was besides the point.

You looked at your window. No, he wasn't about to learn how to fly. Or get a long ladder. Or would he get a long ladder? Your laugh quickly descended to a chesty cough. The boy of your heart was truly something. He clearly missed you, despite his casual demeanour.

You suddenly hear a raised authoritative voice. Oh. Mitsuru was not pleased. “You can't go up there! You are putting at risk all of us, not to mention the student body…!” Her voice resigned after Minato very nonchalantly walked into your room and locked the door behind him. Oh yeah, that's right. You forgot he literally does not care. You notice a large open container in his hands, all contents except a water bottle obscured to you.

“She won't be coming up here.” You give him a smile. “She’ll kill you, you know.” “That's a problem for later.” He found a seat on the edge of your bed, resting the back of his palm against your forehead. “You’re feverish.” You gave him a long hard look that said, ‘no way, really?’ but kept your mouth shut, since you were honestly so pleased he was here.

Setting the container down by your bed, he pulls out a small, cold wet towel to place on your forehead. You sigh happily as your scorching skin seems to lull slowly. He grabs one of your hands, and rests it in his lap as he holds it. Minato looks in your eyes as the room fills with a moment of silence. “No-one could keep me from you.” You have to look away so you don't make a fool of yourself. It's rare for him to be so blatant about his feelings for you. He didn't seem to care about your sniffling nose, your raspy voice, or your chapped lips. You were his love, after all.

Minato gently lifted your head, resting it in his lap. He propped you up to undo the ponytail you had messily done last night. It had soothed your burning shoulders then, but now it just ached. His fingers gently threaded through your hair, completely relieving the tension. You could not fathom why he had come so prepared, but he procured a hairbrush and began working through your hair slowly. It was such a soft act of intimacy, to actively look after you in this way. To never want anything in return. His satisfaction always seemed to derive from seeing you content. You closed your eyes and lost yourself in the moment, never wanting to leave.

After some time, the silence was interrupted with a: “…Oh yeah, I brought you your favourite snack.” You watch as he reached into the container again to procure you your gift. Your sickened state almost made you barrel towards tears, but you instead settle on pulling him into a sudden hug. You couldn't even care if you got him sick anymore. You left a trail of kisses from his collarbone all the way up to his cheeks, the edge of his mouth, and finally pressing against his lips. You stay there for quite sometime, your fingers now finding his hair instead. When you pull away, he looks vaguely amused, with the slightest smirk on his face.

“I think you forgot about your snack.”

The world was a blur as you walked, blue and white meshing with the grays and browns of buildings and used paths. Rejection always hurt, even when you expected it. Akihiko was known for telling people "no", but you kind of hoped he would say different with you...

At least you could still be friends. Saying goodbye forever would've ruined your heart more.

Time had rushed into the starry evening during your walk home, orange mixing with pink and blue until they turned into a gentle purple...but everything continued on while you remained stagnant. Heart still clenched and eyes still blurred.

Akihiko wasn't much different, but he had no idea why. Perhaps it was because you're friends that he can't get that look of hurt in your eyes out of his mind.

It takes a good portion of time for him to get a handle on his feelings, but the process gets sped up by Mitsuru and Junpei. "Dude, you're totally in love!" and "Well, perhaps you like them too? You certainly care deeply for them." are two of the many things he hears from them. He always denied it, but then would continue pondering. Did he like you that way?

Each day you ended up within one another's presence, he noticed more and more. The way the light made your eyes shine with a morning dew at the lockers, the way your hands looked as your fingers adjusted sliders and reorganized lab papers, and how he wanted to link his pinky with yours on the way to lunch. And right now, he was memorizing the shape of your lips.

He had invited you to Chagall for a cup of coffee. Why, he wasn't sure, but with the way you talked about the flowers the old couple at the bookstore gave you for white day...he couldn't care. Your smile, though withheld, made your eyes gleam. He saw the way you grasped your clothes in your hands to release the energy you were keeping at bay and he saw how your upper lip spasmed into a wider grin.

"You're-" He stopped himself as soon as he began, finding comfort in the light dancing within his cup, "..sorry." How could he say you're amazing without hurting the both of you more? He already told you no. "I just...I'm sorry." However his apologies only seemed to confuse you, making you pry without meaning to. "For what, Aki? You haven't done anything." Except for one thing, he thought.

A ripple of silence fluttered around your table for a few moments, breath taking and soul crushing. "Is.." He held his breath at your voice. "...is this about the other day?" Of course you'd figure it out, he likely looked as uncomfortable as he did then. "Akihiko." His eyes met yours when you leaned forward, "You have nothing to apologize for. You aren't interested and there's nothing wrong with that." Whatever nervousness, anxiousness, you held was stifled in favor of reassuring him. "That's exactly why I'm apologizing, (Y/n)! I said I wasn't into you, but I am!"

Your heart squeezed in such a terrible way. Hurt and disbelief was all you could feel swell in your throat, bitter against the back of your tongue. He liked you even though it took him a little to get there. It should've been relieving, and you supposed it was - just a tad, but those morose feelings washed any good that could come from such news. "I-" He pressed his lips together for a moment, taking a breath, "I didn't mean to...to hurt you. Back then...I didn't know how I felt."

"Well, my feelings haven't changed, Aki. As...as upset as this makes me, I still like you." With a burn behind your eyes, you blink and breathe deeply, "I doubt that'll change." He took in a breath of warm air, as if to reel himself in. "Then-" He pressed his lips together, meeting your eyes..

"Can we try dating?"

so persona 3: reload is out today and when i say it was a deeply formative game for me

i love the new art style BUT i miss the deeply surreal old cutscenes. like. i don't know. the same STUFF happens and the new stuff is nicely animated but. like look at this version. the weird cuts! the lack of explanation! the SUICIDAL IMAGERY CW!

that said i LOVE that the random flying butterfly has been changed to a butterfly flying against a solid wall. it wants to get out. it is trapped. haha get it

so far the new voice actors seem to be really channeling the old vibes. THAT SAID, the new VA for akihiko is like. he's good, but liam o'brien has such a distinct voice? it's weird not hearing liam?

wow mitsuru is Tall Actually. i love that for her. she's like a full head taller than yukari

yukari "CALL ME TAKEBA" i love that actually? yes let's be all formal and standoffish. i actually love how p3's vibe was so different from 4 and 5's. this wasn't A Group Of Pals, Solving Crime, it was a bunch of random strangers working together and only slowly starting to get along.

ahaha god i love how the dorm room has been like. redesigned? it looks tiny now. and cheap as hell. proper terrible Dorm Room.

ahahaha the game going out of it's way on the first full moon to explain why makoto is still in uniform for the cutscene. "he was VERY TIRED and FELL ASLEEP IN UNIFORM" love that silliness

the summoning cutscene isn't NEARLY as good/creepy as the original either

however overall i am so psyched to be playing this game again!! now when's best boy (fucked up revenge child) showing up

Time to finish some designs/sketches I pulled out of my abandoned WIP folder! And just in time for all the P3 Reload hype!

I noticed some parallels between Personas 3-5 and the Pokemon games, so the SEES in Sinnoh AU has been living in my head rent free for AGES.

These aren't their full teams, but just their aces. I essentially went "What if their Personas were Pokemon?" and did them in whichever order they came to mind. They'd be building teams around them.

Basically the parallels are: Mt Coronet is Tartarus, Spear Pillar is the altar at the top where you fight Nyx/Appraiser, Team Galactic is an underground branch of the Kirijo Group (Cyrus=Ikutsuki, the three Commanders are Strega), Giratina is Thanatos/Death...and the Lake Trio's affiliation with the human psyche seems appropriate given the cognitive creatures in the Persona series.

I couldn't decide whether Mitsuru should be from Hearthome or Snowpoint. But I'm leaning more towards the former, because it's more bustling, and Mitsuru seems like a contest kind of gal...and Fuuka is basically like Ryley/Cheryl/Buck (since there's no real room for a navigator role in Pokemon).

Might also drop em in Legends Arceus if I feel like it...

Koromaru (voiced by Shinya Takahashi in Japanese)

A dog who awakens to the power of Persona after a tragic event. Since his original owner—the priest of the dorm’s neighboring Naganaki Shrine—had passed away, the protagonist and friends take him in as a full-fledged member of S.E.E.S.

Clever, loyal, and friendly, he quickly becomes a beloved member of the group. He seems especially close to Aigis—who translates his barks—and Ken Amada, the elementary school student.

In battle, he wields a knife in his mouth. His unique Persona is Cerberus, specializing in dark skills.

Aigis (voiced by Dawn M. Bennett in English, Maaya Sakamoto in Japanese)

A man-made Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapon, 7th Generation. She joins S.E.E.S. as an android with a humanlike heart, granting her the power of Persona.

She harbors a mysterious attachment to the Protagonist from the first day they meet. Initially coming across as cold and robotic, she begins to discover more human emotions through her experiences with the group.

A third-year at Gekkoukan High, though he can rarely be seen at school. He was a founding member of SEES alongside Mitsuru and Akihiko. After distancing himself for about two years, a certain turn of events convinces him to rejoin the group.

While unapproachable at first glance, beneath the gruff exterior is a gentle heart and a knack for cooking. He even has a soft spot for animals, doting on Koromaru when no one is looking.

In battle, he bludgeons with weapons like axes. His unique Persona is Castor, specializing in hard-hitting physical attacks.

■ Key Art and Protagonist’s Battle Uniform Revealed

In Persona 3 Reload, all members of the Special Extracurricular Execution Squad (S.E.E.S.) now don new battle uniforms when taking on Tartarus.

The newly revealed key art depicts the protagonist in his new outfit alongside his Persona, Thanatos. The iconic S.E.E.S armbands have also been redesigned to match the updated battle uniform.

persona 3 music headcanons

i’m taking in the time period the game takes place. (2009-2010ish) also. idk what type of music was popular in japan, so i’m just going off of western music :^)

Makoto

Ok. so i might be projecting a bit on this one, but he listens to early 2000’s emo/grunge/rock music.

A few bands i’m specifically thinking: mcr, deftones (i know im sorry but cmon), green day, maybeee the cure idk

He’ll really listen to anything though. if he doesn’t like something that’s put on he won’t say anything to the person. just. internalize how much he hates it

Makoto also listens to instrumentals. he likes to turn his brain off and do stuff around the dorm or just sit in his room. songs with lyrics sometimes are too overwhelming in those specific instances

Junpei

Junpei definitely listens to bands like Linkin Park and The Offspring. Maybeeee some rap here and there too

“SHAWTYS LIKE A MELODY IN MY HEAD” (thinks of Chidori when he listens to that song)

He def has “concerts” in his room where he blasts his music and sings obnoxiously loud

I feel like he’d also secretly like some pop music, but he’d never admit it

Yukari

She listens to whatever’s popular at the moment but she definitely has some favorite bands/artists

Mainly listens to female artists (P!NK? maybe avril lavigne)

Lovesss pop music and love songs (Junpei teases her for liking love songs and it makes her SO MAD)

Aigis

Aigis doesn’t really care what music is playing. But she has a tendency to… over explain things about the music.

Will give unnecessary info about the artist that is currently playing

She’ll also try to find songs she thinks the others will like based on the stuff they play around her

Shes basically like the DJ thing on spotify

Fuuka

I can see Fuuka liking music with lots of different instruments. But also liking softer songs (idk if she’d listen to this band but my first thought was songs like Never Shout Never makes)

Prefers live recordings and acoustic versions of songs

She usually lets the others pick out music when they’re listening together and generally likes anything (unless it’s super heavy)

Her and Yukari like a lot of the same music. Junpei also tries to get her to listen to more rock

Akihiko

Aki doesn’t really listen to music… He either does things in silence or turns the radio on a random station

He goes to Power Records and buys CDs based on the cover art

If someone plays a song and he likes how it sounds, he’ll awkwardly go up to them and ask them what the song is called

Mitsuru

Mitsuru is a bit hard to place for me. But I feel like she would mainly listen to classical music (on the rare occasions she does listen to music)

She doesn’t have CDs, a radio or an MP3 player. But she definitely has a record player and collects records

Like Fuuka, she’ll usually let the underclassmen pick out music to play and some of the lyrics make her question the things they’re into…

Shinji

Shinji listens to very very very underground stuff. (can’t decide if he would listen to 90s rock or not.)

He tried to show his music to Aki ONE TIME. Aki immediately hated it

No specific bands or songs rlly come to mind

I imagine the stuff he likes is … very hard to listen to :)

He also hates pop music with a passion

Kotone

She’s like a mix of Yukari and Makoto

The type of person to listen to anything… ANYTHING. and most likely enjoy it

Kotone is also one of the only people who actually likes Shinjis obscure ass music

Ken

Ken. Idk.

He seems like the type to not really care about music honestly

Just. Listens to whatever the others put on without much objection

Personally, I think she should have commited more war crimes and killed people on screen. "YUKARI PROPAGANDA: SHE IS LITERALLY SO CORRECT ABOUT EVERYTHING. People call her a bitch for uhh [checks notes] having a a brief freak out after she's shown live footage of her father's gruesome death? For [checks notes] accusing Mitsuru of lying to them about important information (which turned out to be COMPLETELY TRUE, by the way, but fans still mock her for this)? For [checks notes one last time] being mean to Junpei, who gives as good as he gets with rude and sometimes sexist comments in response? And even then, several times she apologizes or reassures him that she was just kidding when he seems genuinely upset by her words, so it's not like she isn't compassionate towards him. Headcanons and Assumptions

Last post before I begin posting the completed timelines in either 2 or 3 days!

What Messiah was Stephen looking for? Do we know who they are?

I mean, there are a lot of Messiah candidates in SMT. I'm sure Stephen found what he was looking for somewhere in those timelines. In anh case, whatever apocalypse he was expecting didn't happen over here (yet). The closest thing to a Messiah you will get in the Persona timeline is Minato/Minako. Stephen will have to settle with the Great Seal.

Wait, wait, wait. So, who created the COMP in the Persona Timeline?

Everything points to Ideo Hazama as the original inventor. His own game tells us so. It seems that he only created one model, though, so when he brought his entire school to the Expanse, Tamaki had to rely on a smart teacher of hers to recreate a COMP for her (probably based on blueprints or notes Hazama left behind). HOWEVER, the teacher also took inspiration from a device he saw from a kid with dog, making a reference to this guy. In conclusion... I don't know, man. This is what happens when you don't patent things.

Was the Karukozaka Incident also part of Phil and Nyarly's bet?

Oh, not at all 😂. They were entirely focused on their players in Mikage-cho and Sumaru that they didn't notice all thay was going on in Karukozaka. By the time they realized, a human teen had taken over ALL of the Expanse and gained godlike powers. I'm pretty sure they were freaking out in their own ways. This incident was so impactful (I mean, someone took over the damn EXPANSE), that it influenced how they played their game in the future. I like to believe that Philemon took Tamaki AND Reiko's characters as a template for what a guest should be like, only adding "power of friendship" to the mix. On the other hand, Nyarly designed the Joker outfit as a way to homage the only "ruler" the Expanse ever had. Didn't help with his hatred for humanity, tho.

If Maya remembered the Other Side, why didn't the world end right there? Or why wasn't she "punished" like Tatsuya?

Maya wasn't part of the initial deal with Philemon. She was too busy being dead.

That was the deal. Maya not remembering was a side effect of, well, that meeting having never happened in the first place. By the time Lisa, and/or Michel remember (depending on your in-game choices), the bet between Phil and Nyarly is already over and there's no point in acting on it.

The Kirijo Group experimented on 100 kids after Mitsuru got her Persona to create artificial ones, but that night Mitsuru and her dad were accompanied by artificial Persona users. What's up with that?

I believe that the Kirijo Group began their artificial Persona experimentation with adult volunteers. They were probably running on whispers of the abilities of the P1 and P2 users to fend off shadows, using what was already known from the New World Order. For all they knew all Personas were volatile. But a girl just awoke to this power naturally, with a Persona with no drawbacks. Maybe children was the way to go? Every condition during Mitsuru's awakening (the stress, the young age, a slight fear of death, etc) was recreated with their new lab rats. They didn't need the failed adult experiments and they just... disappeared.

How could have Ken frequented Baofu's website if he closed it after EP?

True, he might have closed his rumor and wiretapping website, but Baofu became a man-searcher. This still fits with what Ken was looking for. Maybe Baofu opened a more legitimate website for his new business, and Ken began to frequent it to look for news of a murderer or some criminal that looked like the one who killed his mother. Remember, Ken didn't know about Personas at first. Maybe Ken ended up finding Shinjiro on his own, or had to make a personal request with Baofu.

"Alright, I've got the man, but don't confront him because I believe this might be a supernatural incident."

"I promise."

Next thing Baofu knows, the client he talked with online (who had a 80% chance of being a kid) tried to kill his mother's murderer himself. Should he...? Nope, the Kirijo Group got involved (same company that might be getting investigated by the Nanjo Group right now). Godspeed, kid.

Well, there have been quite a few requests for 5, but a lot of them are sitting in the inbox 😅 I ended up covering Mitsuru in another request, but I'll gladly do Yukari :3

Yukari Takeba Relationship Headcanons

As a holder of the Lovers Arcana, Yukari's life revolves around her relationships

And that especially applies to you

She values her relationship with you very much

Her cheery attitude only seems to increase when she's with you

She greets you every morning with all smiles, taking your hand in here as you board the train and talk about whatever comes to mind

And again when you go to class, and after school

Yukari just loves being with you whatever chance she gets

She's quite affectionate as well, loving to hold your hand or your arm as you walk together, and loves cuddling up to you when you're alone

ONLY then, though

If you try and get too close to her in public, she'll push you away and call you a pervert, blushing red as a strawberry

She also gets pretty flustered with voicing her love for you though, so overall, expect a lot of red-faced Yukari

She also likes to tease you a lot, in a gentler manner than she does with Junpei, but often leads to lots of playful bickering

It's fun though, and as she says, she does it only out of love~

Of course, she is prone to mood swings, but she tries hard not to unload them into you

You two go on dates pretty much every day

Going to the florist is nice, and a good meal at the Iwatodai Strip Mall is always fun

Anything's fair game when she's with you, but she

But despite how much she values your relationship, she's hesitant to rely on you and let you in, which unfortunately creates barriers every now and then

It's not that she doesn't trust you, but she's very self-reliant and doesn't like needing to depend on others

She does snap at you from time to time, insisting that she doesn't need your help despite obviously not meaning it

At the end of it, however, she does apologize and make amends, and tries to let you in more often

Her parents are a particularly sore subject, and she definitely needs some comforting after receiving an aggravating phone call from her mother, or when she grieves for her father

But Yukari greatly appreciates your patience, and she's more than willing to be there for you as well

She's very supportive with you, especially if you have any familial problems, which she can sympathize with

And her bravery allows her to go to great lengths to make sure nothing hurts you, even if it ends with you having to pull her away from the situation to calm down

You appreciate the effort though, and it sets an example for her as well

Overall, you have your ups and downs, but Yukari is a very sweet girlfriend to you

She realizes she can be difficult sometimes, but she's incredibly grateful to have you by her side, and she's always there for you too

Note(s): I'm playing through Reload rn and I cannot recall if there's a drama club at this school. I know P4 has one (can't remember if P5 has one) but I wish there was more drama/theater stuff in Persona games (guess their lives are dramatic enough 😔).

Aigis

She can tell when you're lying as you're reading lines and acting overdramatically. She just doesn't quite understand why you're doing it. She has heard that lying is bad, but you're doing it in a way that others find entertaining and it's something new for her to perceive and attempt to understand.

You mention that it's acting, something that she also has heard of but didn't really put too much thought into. Doesn't quite understand what you want when you hand her the script and ask that she reads lines with you.

She reads it and you try to get her to put more emotion into it, something she has to remind you that she doesn't technically have since she's a machine. But she tries to mimic how angry Yukari gets at Junpei or how perfect Mitsuru is. She's definitely not cut out to be an actor, but she likes how happy you seem.

Akihiko

Akihiko doesn't know a whole lot about acting, but he has seen how much the drama club and you put into it. It makes him happy when he notices how happy you are telling him all about it.

So he's glad that you put your energy into something that you like. But he also knows that he could never be an actor because he's just not built that way, he'd be awkward on a stage in front of others.

Now when you ask him to read lines with you, he hesitates and tries to make excuses about not being a good partner to practice with you. But he'll give in if you insist. Aki really is awkward, but he tries to help you, probably pausing when he hears how real the emotions from your voice sounds. He has to remind himself that he's helping you practice even though he wants to just watch.

Ryoji

He thinks it's cool that you're into acting. He's discovered that he enjoys movies and stuff so he's definitely routing for you to end up in one of those films some day.

Ryoji will 100% be happy to help act with you. It's mostly him just reading the lines of the other person that'd be in the scene with you, but he is so overly dramatic with it. Especially if it's like a romantic play you're in. He's going to go above and way beyond.

Now, if he's learning that you're acting for some play and there's a kiss scene then he's going to pout at you. Sure, he gets that it's acting and doesn't mean anything. But he still isn't a huge fan of the idea of someone else getting kissed by you even if it is acting. Maybe he'll be more accepting if you gave him twice as many kisses...

The Journey: Aikoto Chronology

With P3RE on the horizon, I thought it'd be useful to gather the Aikoto moments that happen in The Journey across the various P3-related releases.

The list will cover:

Vanilla P3 (OG)

FES

P3P

Drama CD

Just in case, given that Atlus seems to be taking some inspiration from the movies, I'll also list some of the stuff the movies added

(Spoilers for the entire game below the cut!)

Note: Out of the Drama CD, there are some that are meant to be considered as canonical, official side-stories. These are Daylight, Moonlight, New Moon and Full Moon. I'll mark the rest with a * since I'm not sure whether they're meant to be considered canon or not.

Note 2: Moments that have been confirmed to be in P3R will be marked with a ✅. Meanwhile, moments that have been confirmed not to be in P3R will be crossed out.

July

✤ Fateful Meeting:

OG/FES: Aigis is introduced with an animated cut-scene. Makoto gets a heart over his head when he sees her and is also disappointment when he doesn't get to approach her first.

Movies: Makoto is "into it" for the first time when he sees Aigis, and he's blown away when she turns to face him.

✤ Reunion:

✅ OG/FES/P3P: Aigis goes into the woods and Makoto has to chase her. Aigis hugs him (in OG/FES, she stops hugging him when Ikutsuki gets there, while in P3P she hugs him for way longer).

Movie: Makoto doesn't chase Aigis; there is a shadow attack that night and Aigis comes to save him, leading to the Aikoto hug from the game.

✤ OG/FES: Akihiko and Junpei are shown to be disappointed when Aigis is revealed to be a robot, but not Makoto.

✤ ✅ OG/FES/P3P/Movies: Aigis wakes Makoto up "five minutes earlier" and proposes she be allowed to stay in his room. In the games, Yukari's last dialogues imply Makoto wasn't against the idea (either "I don't care" or "She can stay"; knowing him, likely the first lol).

August

✤ Movie-Only: Aigis tries to protect Makoto during the Justice & Chariot fight. Makoto worries for her and tries to reach her when she overheats.

✤ ✅ (Optional) FES/P3P: You can walk Koromaru with Aigis (the very first Koro walk!) on August, 15th. Aigis keeps her distance.

✤ (Optional) Summer Festival:

OG/FES: When you go alone to the Summer Festival, Makoto runs into Aigis and Mitsuru. He tries to call out to them, but neither of them hear him.

✅ P3P: When you turn everyone down, the game defaults to sending Makoto to the festival with Aigis and Mitsuru. Once there, Makoto and Aigis share some takoyaki and you even have the option to make them hold hands.

Movie: Makoto goes to the festival with Aigis and they play at the stands. Instead of going with Mitsuru, they run into Shinjiro and Ken.

✤ (Optional) FES/P3P: You can go to the Film Festival with Aigis on August, 28th (the game gives you a heads-up about it the day before).

September

✤ Movie-Only: Aigis drops by Makoto's room and the two talk about his motives.

✤ ✅ OG/FES/P3P/Movie: Aigis starts going to school (and gets assigned the seat next to Makoto). She tells the entire class that she wishes to always be by Makoto's side.

✤ Drama CD (Daylight): It features various events and a lot of Aikoto stuff, including Aigis & Makoto going with Junpei to visit Chidori at the hospital, Aigis & Makoto patrolling the city together, Aigis being curious about ice-cream and Makoto promising to buy her some, etc. It also features the introduction of the "Mysterious Girl" that would later become relevant in Arena thanks to Labrys, as well as a direct tie-in with Labrys' wish and Aigis' route in P4A.

Security Camera:

FES/P3P: When Makoto gets sick because of the typhoon, Aigis goes to his room to look after him. Despite confirming he's doing fine, Aigis decides to keep watch over him. In FES, she sits on the ground; in P3P, she sits on the bed by the side of his head.

Drama CD (Character Drama Vol 3*): It shows Aigis' thoughts as she decides to "follow her heart" and muses on how illogical she has become.

✤ Drama CD (Character Drama Vol 5*): While this CD focuses on Akihiko and Shinjiro, there is some slight Aikoto, since Makoto immediately recognizes Aigis' handwriting and is the only one to figure out what she meant by her note.

September-October

✤ Drama CD (P3P Vol 2*): Makoto and Aigis tease Junpei, plus Aikoto + Koromaru go look for Bunkichi when he goes missing. (The screenshot above is unrelated to this.)

November

✤ OG (Cutscene)/FES (Cutscene)/P3P/Movies: Aigis breaks out of Ikutsuki's control as she and Makoto stare at each other (this isn't shown in P3P, so we have Aigis stuttering Makoto's name instead). The movies add Aigis falling due to the effort and Makoto holding her in his arms, as well as Ikutsuki trying to control Aigis a second time and Aigis resisting to not shoot Makoto.

✤ Drama CD (Full Moon): Aigis is paralyzed by her fear of hurting those who matter to her. Pharos reaches out to her, reminding her that she has to fight if she has someone who is truly important to her.

✤ Movie-Only: Aigis reassures Makoto that she will never leave him (a moment based on her S-Link with him). Makoto hugs her close.

✤ Drama CD (Episode Luck*): Ryoji thinks Aigis is glaring at Makoto rather than at him because she fears Makoto likes another girl. Makoto corrects him: Aigis' animosity is very much reserved for Ryoji lol

✤ Movie-Only: In the game, the girls comment on how much better Junpei is doing now that he is friends with Ryoji. In the movies, they give Ryoji's friendship with Junpei to Makoto, so the girls say this comment to Aigis, who starts thinking about what matters more: Makoto's well-being or her mistrust of Ryoji.

✤ Kyoto School Trip:

OG/FES/P3P/Movie: Aigis wants to share a room with Makoto.

Movie-Only: The movies add a hilarious scene where Aigis takes matters into her own hands lol Also, since Ryoji hangs around Makoto during the trip, Aigis makes sure to tag along.

✤ OG/FES/P3P: As everyone leaves to study, Makoto briefly hangs back with Aigis. As he makes it to leave, Aigis tells him that thinking of anything happening to him and of not being able to be by his side again (this dialogue is present in Japanese, but missing from the ENG translation) has made her understand the concept of "loss". She also tells him that while she doesn't know why, he is very special to her and she wishes to protect him and to always be by his side.

December

✤ Moonlight Bridge:

OG/FES/P3P/Movie: Aigis gets her memories back and realizes why she wanted to be by Makoto's side.

OG/FES: Aigis reaches out for Makoto, who kneels down to hold her hand without player input. When Aigis passes out, he touches her head.

Movie-Only: Since Aigis is laying down instead, Makoto holds her in his arms.

✤ Movie-Only: Makoto goes to visit Aigis at the lab.

✤ OG/FES/P3P: Aigis comes back to the dorm and apologizes to him for what she did 10 years ago. All of Makoto's dialogue choices are supportive of her, showing he doesn't hold it against her: “It was the only way”, “You had no choice” and “You did the right thing”.

✤ Movie-Only: The movies merge Aigis' resolution with the Aikoto scene that takes place in January during Career Counseling. The movie's version notably features Makoto asking Aigis to go see the cherry blossoms with him next spring.

January

✤ (Optional) FES/P3P: Last walk with Aigis and Koromaru. This time, Aigis sits by Makoto's side like everyone else.

✤ (Optional) FES/P3P: You can start Aigis' S-Link on January 8th.

✤ Drama CD (Moonlight): The most Aikoto out of the Drama CD. Words don't do it justice, so here's a link!

✤ OG/FES/P3P: Toriumi asks Makoto to call Aigis for Career Counseling. He finds her on the rooftop, and Aigis proceeds to confess that even though Death is gone now, she still wishes to be by his side. This scene is titled "The Promise Between Aigis and the Main Character".

✤ (Optional) FES/P3P: First and last group walk with Koromaru on January 29th! Everyone tries to "make the most of this moment", as Makoto and Aigis hang out together playing with Koromaru.

✤ The Battle for Everyone's Souls

OG/FES (Cutscene): We can see Aigis looking at Makoto and trying to stand up while they’re crushed under gravity.

Movie-Only: As the shadows swarm SEES, Aigis protects Makoto before being overpowered herself. Makoto screams his heart out. (Note: This scene likely inspired the Aikoto Dance at the Persona Concert 2022, where Aigis gets taken by shadows and Makoto falls to his knees in despair).

OG/FES (Cutscene)/P3P/Movie: Aigis cries out “No, don’t go!” as Makoto levitates away from them. In P3P, we're shown Aigis calling out to him is the last thing he hears before his consciousness fades.

Movie-Only: Makoto's Evoker falls from his hold and Aigis grabs it. He turns to her and says his last words to her, "Live."

OG/FES/P3P: Aigis and Shinji are the last voices Makoto hears before he casts the seal. Aigis says that she won't allow the world that gave birth to him to be destroyed.

Movie-Only: Instead of her line from the game, Aigis reminds Makoto of the promise they all made and tells him that he has to come back no matter what.

OG/FES/P3P/Movie: Aigis laments her lack of strength because she couldn't protect the one she cherishes. The English translation of the games omitted the last part.

OG/FES/P3P: Tiny detail, but it’s only after Aigis calls out to Makoto that we get a >everyone is calling out to you and the option to reply. Her reaction is also the first we see.

OG/FES (Cutscene): A cutscene shows us Makoto returning to SEES. In the cutscene, SEES are split into groups and only Aigis is shown on her own. We also see Makoto's smile widening and his eyes trembling as Aigis sheds tears for the first time. P3P has none of this, but Aigis is the first one to notice Makoto coming back to them.

March

✤ OG/FES/P3P: Aigis sadly watches Makoto from afar (March 3rd).

✤ Movie-Only: Aigis watching Makoto happens on March 5th. Seeing her triggers Makoto's memories, and he struggles to make his way to the rooftop. Aigis is waiting for him there. As the two make their way towards each other, Makoto collapses. Aigis catches him in her arms and hugs him close, welcoming him home.

✤ OG/FES/P3P: Aigis comes to find Makoto on Graduation Day. She picks him up in his room and together they go to the rooftop to wait for everyone. As they wait, Aigis thanks Makoto for everything and reaffirms her desire to protect him and to always be by his side. In OG and FES, Makoto wipes her tears away (once again without player-input).

✤ OG/FES (Cutscene): He falls asleep with a smile on his face, laying on her lap.

✤ OG/FES: Memories of You opens with Makoto and closes with Aigis.
